Helpful Tips for Your Next Visit to Badger Pass

Good news Badger Pass family! We already thought the 2022/23 season has been a momentous year for snowfall, and groundhog Punxsutawney Phil predicted another 6 weeks of winter. Now, there is no excuse not to spend a day on the slopes at Badger Pass!

Badger Pass is a fan favorite because of our affordable rates, great hills, low wait time, and overall dedication to ensuring you have a fun time! We compiled all our best tips to make your Badger Pass experience as easy as possible. By the time summer rolls around you will still be thinking fondly of all the winter days up on the hill, enough to keep the stoke alive until next season.

Take the Complimentary Shuttle

Take a break; our shuttle is not only convenient, but it’s also free! Our shuttle runs 7 days a week. Visitors pick up the shuttle in Yosemite Valley, at one of our lodges. The first stop picks up from Curry Village registration at 8:05 a.m., followed by Yosemite Transportation at 8:10 (located across from the Village Store, there is a small gazebo with a bench underneath), and the last stop is the Yosemite Valley Lodge, departing at 8:30 a.m. For those who like to sleep in, the second run starts service at Curry Village registration at 10:35 a.m., Yosemite Transportation pickup at 10:40, and the last bus departs from the Yosemite Valley Lodge at 11 a.m. The return shuttle picks you up from the day lodge at Badger Pass, at 2 and 4:30 p.m. For a full breakdown of the shuttle times, head here . On the way back to your accommodations, relax your legs and enjoy the beautiful views as you pass through Tunnel View on the descent back into Yosemite Valley.

If you choose to bypass the shuttle and drive your own vehicle to Badger Pass, our parking is close to the Lodge and free. There is plenty of space for you to park. The parking lot is located on a slight hill. The lot often has icy patches, heed with caution and bring appropriate footwear possible.

Stay Safe and Up to Date

Before heading into Yosemite National Park, we highly recommended checking the current weather and road conditions. Also, note federal law requires carrying chains in your vehicle during the winter season. Being located at elevation, weather and conditions can and do change frequently. To find out the latest conditions, call the road condition number at 209-372-0200 then press 1, and 1 again; this is the best way to stay updated with the most current information. When in doubt driving on mountain roads, go slow and turn out safely into designated turn out areas.

Food + Shopping

There is food available for purchase inside the Badger Pass Lodge. The menu is very family oriented and has easy go-to items such as burgers and fries and even breakfast options for those first on the hill types. Additionally, there are vegetarian options, hot beverages, and beer sold here. Forgot your beanie, goggles, or gloves at home? The Sport Shop is the spot to pick up last minute (or additional) gear you need to comfortably enjoy the snow or grab a Yosemite souvenir to remember your trip fondly with.

Book Your Tickets in Advance

All-day adult lift tickets start at $62 and children's tickets at $35. If skiing isn’t your thing but you still want to try out the winter sports located at Badger Pass, we have snowshoeing and tubing! The Nordic Center, located at Badger Pass, has guided snowshoeing tours. Our tubing is best a great activity for the little ones. There are two tubing sessions, from 11 am to 1 p.m., followed by a second one which starts at 2 p.m. and ends at 4 p.m.

Those interested in ski or snowboard lessons can take a class from our expert instructors. We offer both private and group lessons. Lessons are first-come, first-served, so be sure to arrive early and get signed up for the day! All tickets, including season passes are available online here .

What About Sledding?

During the early stages of winter sports in Yosemite, there was toboggan sledding located at Camp Curry. Today, there is no sledding permitted at Badger Pass (or at Camp Curry), so we can prioritize safety for everyone on the mountain and trails. Our designated areas are uniquely curated for each individual snow activity. This makes sure there is space for everyone to enjoy Bager Pass! Stay away from this company. Their drivers are dangerous and discourteous. Specifically, I have witnessed them tailgate, exceed the posted speed limits and have anger issues. This particular employee in Badger Bus van 798 tailgated me within 6 inches of my vehicle with a baby inside it! And then visibly called me a "mother f*cker" because I would not go 10 miles per hour over the speed limit to let him pass me.

Deranged driver attempted to run me off the road. Badger Bus should discipline this clown.

The bus rides between Madison and Milwaukee are ridiculously expensive. The wifi is spotty and oftentimes the outlets don't work. I'm writing this review of my recent ride. I booked the Johnson/Washington stop for my return trip home. The clueless driver didn't even stop there even though that is where my ticket was booked to. She drove straight through from Johnson Creek to Lake St. Her incompetence cost me an hour and 25 minutes. My commute home from Johnson would have been 25 minutes, but it took me an hour and 25 minutes to get home from downtown. When I noticed the time, it was past when I should have been dropped. We were already traveling down E Wash and I was in the last seat by the bathroom, so there was nothing I could do at that point. Commuters beware if you use this stop! I sent an email to Badger Bus regarding this and how/why it happened with no response.

Drivers are exceptionally friendly and helpful always, buses are always clean, and the ride is always smooth and pleasant! That kind of service is a rare thing these days and I am so grateful to Badger Bus for that!

Bus didn't leave for 40 minutes and the bus driver was rude to passengers. Bus is overbooked so two people had to stand up. If you go to UW Madison try to find another way home because this transportion system is subpar.

Customer service is non-existent. After several attempts of having my reservation changed they kept sending me confirmation for my original time. After multiple attempts to clarify I simple ask they stopped responding. Use any other regional service to save yourself the headache.

Tickets are non refundable non transferable and they charge you extra fees if you missed the bus you indicated to ride. I planned to take it from Milwaukee airport to Madison but because flight arrivals can often be tricky, I decided to purchase the ticket whenever my flight arrives. Here comes the frustration, driver sells you the ticket for $7 extra (about 30% of the original ticket price), you have to pay the driver in cash and the EXACT change. I had to run like crazy in the airport looking for ATM machine and to get that exact change for him and unfortunately, missed the bus at the end. Please people, make it easier for your customers. Either let the driver have change, use a credit card machine or make your tickets transferable for no charge. Your competitors do that already

Awful experience. Got to the bus stop at 8:10, ticket said it departed at 8:25. Bus got there at 8:15, got out of my car to get my bags and board, and the bus already started to leave. Followed and Honked at it repeatedly to stop but it left. Still have not gotten a refund or apology. Terrible service would not recommend.

Badger Bus is dishonest, untrustworthy and has the worst "customer service." I bought a ticket, showed up 20 minutes early and got left in the dust as my Badger Bus sped through a red light. I foolishly even stuck around for 20+ minutes hoping that it wasn't my bus that had passed me by. It was. I tried to get a refund because I wasn't able to get on the bus through no fault of my own. It's the principle of it all. But alas, Badger Bus has been giving me the run around. I've called them several times, emailed, and spoken to a live person (twice) and yet, no follow up to my request for a refund. --Dear Badger Bus, I give up. You can keep my $20. You've already wasted hours of my life. It's the last time I'll use your bus service.

It must be great when you have a monopoly on a transportation bus service that people need. I mean, no need for luxurious amenities like bus stations. The seat cushions probably haven't been replaced since before Obama's first term. Cash transactions are $7 more than those made online. If you are going to or from the Milwaukee Mitchell Airport, find a plan b.

I used to use badger bus to get from school in Milwaukee to my home in Minnesota which would cost me $50 one way. This means I was spending $100 to go home and back which was pricey as a college student but at the time I found it was worth it for how convenient it was. This year they bumped their prices up to $62 one direction with no explanation! The service they provide is not worth that much by any means and now I will be finding another way home every time.

Arizona State receivers coach Ra’Shaad Samples is set to join Dan Lanning’s staff, a source with knowledge of the matter confirmed to The Oregonian/OregonLive on Sunday.

Samples earned $500,000 in salary last season, according to USA Today , and in December he signed a contract extension with a raise, the amount of which has not been publicly disclosed, through the 2025 season. It’s not immediately clear how much his buyout is to leave ASU.

Locklyn was set to earn $400,000 in salary at UO, which is receiving a buyout of approximately $366,667 from Ohio State.

Samples, 29, coached Elijhah Badger last season at ASU and was the No. 12 recruiter among Big 12 assistant coaches for the 2024 recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports.

In 2022, Samples was running backs coach for the Los Angeles Rams and was the NFL’s youngest position coach at just 27 years old.

“Ra’Shaad Samples has seen a meteoric rise through the coaching ranks and for good reason,” Arizona State coach Kenny Dillingham said in a statement. “You don’t go from an offensive assistant in college to a position coach in the NFL in just four years without being dedicated to your craft and a work ethic that impresses everyone around you.”

247Sports first reported the impending hire of Samples, who had prior stops coaching running backs at TCU (2021) and SMU (2019-21) and as a staffer at Texas (2018) and Houston (2016-17).

At TCU for only five months, Samples ended the 2022 signing period as the No. 27 recruiter nationally and No. 3 in the Big 12. He was the No. 2 recruiter in the AAC in 2021 and recruited eight of SMU’s 17 signees in the highest-ranked recruiting class in program history, which was No. 3 in the conference overall and had the highest average recruiting rating in the AAC.

Samples coached running back Ulysses Bentley IV (913 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns) to FWAA freshman All-American honors in 2020.

While at Texas in 2018, Samples worked with Oregon tight ends coach Drew Mehringer, then the Longhorns receivers coach.

As a player, Samples was a receiver at Oklahoma State in 2014 and transferred to Houston, where his playing career ended due to injury. He joined UH’s coaching staff in 2016.

From Dallas, Samples played for his father, Reginald Samples, at Skyline High School. His father is now the coach at Texas powerhouse Duncanville, where five-star receiver and LSU commit Dakorien Moore plays.
