Arrival in Guwahati (Assam)

Your amazing Guwahati Shillong Kaziranga trip will start with your arrival at Guwahati Airport/Station (whichever of your choice).
At the airport/station, our representative will be waiting to escort you to a pre-booked hotel to recover from jet lag.
After getting freshened up, you will be taken on a Guwahati sightseeing tour where along with that natural beauty you will also visit some top pilgrimage sites of the city - Kamakhya Temple, Umananda Temple and Balaji Temple.
For dinner and overnight stay, you will be taken back to the hotel.

Guwahati to Shillong (Meghalaya) via Umiam Lake

In the morning, enjoy a scrumptious breakfast.
Followed by this, be ready to begin a 99 km road drive to Shillong. It would take around 3-4 hours to complete the drive.
En route, explore the surreal beauty of Umiam Lake, also known as Barapani Lake. It is the largest artificial lake in Meghalaya and is known for its exquisite surrounding which includes Sylvan Hills.
On arrival in Shillong, you will be accommodated in a pre-booked hotel.
Rest of the day will be free for your leisure time. You can either choose to explore the nearby region or can just stay inside your hotel room and relax.

Shillong to Cherrapunji

Followed by a delectable breakfast, you will begin a drive to your next stopover which is Cherrapunji - the second wettest place on earth. This will be a 53 km drive which would take around 2-3 hours to complete.
In Cherrapunji, relish the beauty of Seven Sister Falls and along with a visit to Mawsmai Cave and the Thangkharang Park.
In the evening, proceed back to Shillong.
En route, visit the spectacular Elephant Falls and the Shillong Peak. From Shillong Peak, you can savour the sweeping views of the region which is quite astounding.
Upon arrival in Shillong, you will be taken to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Shillong to Mawlynnong to Dawky to Shillong

Like all days, day 4 of this excursion will also start with a nutritious breakfast.
Followed by this, you will be taken to Asia’s cleanest village - Mawlynnong through a 78 km road drive. The pristine natural beauty of this eco-tourism destination in Meghalaya is something which cannot be missed out.
After Mawlynnong, the next stopover on the day 4 sightseeing tour is Dawki. In Jaintia Hills, this small town is another nature’s paradise in Meghalaya which is known for its clear and pristine Umngot River.
In the evening, you will be taken back to Shillong. En route, visit the famous Root Bridge.
Upon arrival in Shillong, you will be accommodated in your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Shillong to Kaziranga National Park

After having a scrumptious breakfast, you will be taken to Kaziranga National Park through a road drive.
From Shillong, Kaziranga is located at a distance of around 252 km, and hence, a road drive would take around 4-5 hours to complete.
Upon arrival, check-in to a pre-booked hotel.
Dinner and overnight stay will be provided at the hotel.

Kaziranga Wildlife Safari & Departure

In the morning, after having breakfast, enjoy a wildlife safari in Kaziranga National Park where you will get to see various wild species.
Thereafter, you will be transferred to your onward destination (airport/railway station) to sum up this tour.
Upon arrival at the airport/station, proceed to board your flight back home.

Day Wise Itinerary

Day 01 guwahati.

Today is the first day of your 8 days Guwahati Shillong Cherrapunji tour packages . Our representative will receive you at Guwahati Airport/Railway station and assist you to your hotel. After freshening up start your sightseeing with a visit to Kamakhya Temple and then trip to the world's smallest river island, the Peacock island and enjoy its spiritual spirit. Then visit the state museum and get a glimpse of the state's culturally rich history, crafts, traditions, anthropology etc, enjoy ropeway ride and visit Brahmaputra River Heritage Center. If you are on a family vacation you can also enjoy visiting Assam State Zoo, Sankardev Kalakshetra and Balaji temple. Now what can be a better way to end the day than enjoying a sunset cruise in the mighty Brahmaputra and endure its beauty.

Night Stay in Guwahati

Day 02 Guwahati- Kaziranga (220 Km)

Wake up early morning have your breakfast and then drive to Kaziranga National Park . Drive through the aromatic tea gardens and greenery and enjoy the nature's richness. It takes around 5 hrs to reach Kaziranga from Guwahati. If time permits take a walk in a tea garden which is located on the edge of the central range of the park. In the evening Check-in your resort and relax for the night.

Day 04 Kaziranga- Shillong(278Km - 8 hrs)

Today after having breakfast at hotel/resort, start our journey to Shillong from Kaziranga by road amidst the amazingly beautiful landscapes. Enroute stop at the Barapani lake enjoy a cup of tea and indulge in boating and embrace the beauty of nature. After reaching Shillong check in your hotel. Spend the evening at rest or go for a walk in a nearing market.

Today after your breakfast at the resort, head off to Mawlynnong Village which proud itself to be the cleanest village in Asia. The cleanliness that this small village depicts is just commendable and inspiring. Trek to the oldest natural Root Bridge and give an adventurous touch to your trip. Enjoy the Sky Walk , which is 85 ft bamboo structure and gives a panoramic view of not only the village but also of Bangladesh plains. Next head towards Dawki , which lies on the banks of the Umngot river. Enjoy a beautiful boat ride in its crystal clear water amidst nature's gorgeous creation and feel its essence. Return to Shillong and rest for the night.

Day 08 Shillong - Guwahati(Departure)

Today is the last date of our Guwahati Shillong Meghalaya tour package. After having your breakfast return to Guwahati. Our representative will assist you to Guwahati Airport/ Railway station as per your convenience. We hope you have a wonderful experience which you would endure for eternity.

Airport Pickup, Guwahati to Shillong (100km/4hrs)

We will receive you at Guwahati Airport and will take you straight to Shillong, which is nearly 4 hours drive from Guwahati. Shillong, a beautiful hill station also known as the “Scotland of the East” is the capital city of Meghalaya and one of the major tourist destinations of East India. In the route, we will stop at Umiam Lake where you can enjoy some delicious Momos with the scenic beauty of the lake. After reaching Shillong, we will check you in to your hotel where you will stay for the night. If time permits, we will take you to local sightseeing of the city.

Shillong Sightseeing (80km/8hrs)

Shillong is famous for its clean steep streets, beautiful lakes, parks and of course the breathtaking waterfalls. So next day, we will take you out on a local sightseeing. Wards Lake, Lady Hydari Park, Don Bosco Museum, Elephant falls, etc. are some notable sightseeing destinations. We will at Shillong.

Shillong to Mawlynnong & Dawki Sightseeing, Mawlynnong to Cherrapunji (245km/9hrs)

Next morning, we will take you to the Asia’s cleanest village Mawlynnong. Mawlynnong is famous for its cleanliness and living root bridges. We will further take you to Dawki, about 20 kilometres south of Mawlynnong. Dawki lies at the border of India and Bangladesh and is famous for a suspension bridge over Umngot River (commonly known as Dawki bridge) constructed by British in 1932. Boating is also available on Umngot River. After sightseeing at Dawki, we will take you to Cherrapunji. We will stay at Cherrapunji.

Cherrapunji Sightseeing (60km/7hrs)

Our next day would be sightseeing at the wettest place on the Earth! Yes, we are talking about Cherrapunji, which holds the all-time record for the most rainfall in a calendar month and in a year. Cherrapunji is famous for living root bridges, Nohkalikai waterfalls, Seven Sister waterfalls, Mawsmai caves (and of course the unending rainfalls of summer) etc. The stay will be at Cherrapunji.

Cherrapunji to Kaziranga (370km/9hrs)

After completing our sightseeing at Cherrapunji we will head towards Kaziranga, the world heritage site situated in Assam. It would be around 370 kilometers drive from Cherrapunji and it is estimated to take around 9 hours. So, it would be a complete journey day with few stops to enjoy the local beauties and cuisine of Assam and Meghalaya. We will stay in Kaziranga.

Kaziranga Sightseeing (80km/8hrs)

Next day we will take you out for sightseeing at Kaziranga. Kaziranga National Park is itself an exquisite beauty to watch with a list of different species of flora and fauna. Of course no need to mention about the gentle beautiful creature for which Kaziranga is famous all over the world, the one horned rhinoceros. So, it will be a complete enjoyment day of sightseeing at Kaziranga National Park including elephant safaris in the morning, jeep safaris in the afternoon, visit to orchid garden and Assam’s famous tea gardens, ethnic village, Assamese localities etc. The stay will be at Kaziranga.

Kaziranga to Guwahati (240km/5hrs)

Next morning we will take you Guwahati which will be around 5 hours drive from KNP. So, after reaching Guwahati we can take you out on sightseeing of Guwahati city. The notable places to check out in and enjoy in Guwahati are Kamakhya temple, Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Balaji temple, Umanada (the smallest river island of the world), river cruises on the mighty River Brahmaputra and many other fantastic places. Your stay for the night will be at Guwahati.

Guwahati Sightseeing, Airport Drop (100km/7hrs)

Next day, if time permits we will take you out on local city sightseeing and try to cover all the places of Guwahati. Then we will drop you off at the LGB International Airport. And thus, will end one of the most unforgettable happy trips of your life.

Welcome on arrival at Guwahati Airport / Station and transfer to Shillong (130 KMS / 3 hrs drive). Enroute visit Umium Lake – created by damming the Umiam River in the early 1960s. The principal catchment area of the lake and dam is spread over 220 square km. Shillong – the capital of British-created Assam until 1972 – and is now the capital and hill station of Meghalaya, also known as “The Abode of Clouds”, one of the smallest states in India. Overnight in Shillong.

Morning enjoy breakfast and then set out on an excursion trip to Cherapunjee (60 Kms / 2hrs one way). It is the traditional capital of the Nongkhlaw hima (Khasi tribal chieftainship) known as Sohra or Churra. Visit Dwan Syiem view point, Noh Kalikai falls, Mawsmai caves, Seven Sister falls, Eco Park etc. Later drive back to Shillong.

Morning after breakfast transfer to Kaziranga (325Kms / 07hrs). Kaziranga was declared a National Park in 1974 and UNESCO declared Kaziranga a World Heritage Site in 1985. The park hosts two thirds of the world population of Rhinos.

Early morning go for Elephant ride in the park. (Elephant riding time: 1 st Ride- 5.15-6.15 AM; 2 nd ride: 6.30-7.30 am) Apart from the Rhino, other species found are hog deer, swamp deer, wild buffalo, elephants and if you are lucky, the tiger. It is virtually a paradise for bird watchers, with a variety of migratory and resident birds. It is also home to pelicans, storks and darters as there are a number of water bodies inside the Park. After breakfast at hotel you can visit tea plantations, rubber plantations. Afternoon enjoy Jeep safari in the Central Range. Kaziranga is a vast expanse of tall elephant grass, marshland, and dense tropical moist broadleaf forests, crisscrossed by four major rivers, including the Brahmaputra, and the park includes numerous small bodies of water. Overnight at Kaziranga.

Morning enjoy your breakfast and check out for transfer to Guwahati. Situated on the South Bank of river Brahmaputra this is the largest city of Assam, a major riverine port city and one of the fastest growing cities in India. Day 1 :- Arrival in Guwahati:

Welcome to Guwahati. Meet and be assisted by our representative at the Airport / Railway Station & proceed to Shillong, also called “Scotland of the East” .

En route visit: Barapani (Umiam Lake), Wards Lake, Lady Hyadri Park & Botanical Garden. Arrive Shillong and check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2 :- Shillong – Cherrapunjee

Morning after breakfast full day excursion to Cherrapunjee . Cherrapunjee is a small hamlet, locally known as ‘SOHRA’. Cherrapunjee is located in the southern most point of Khasi hill sharing the border of Sylhet district of Bangladesh.

You will visit Shillong Peak – It is the highest point of Shillong located in the upper Shillong. The name Shillong originated from “Leishyllong” meaning God. Elephant Falls – This majestic waterfalls in Meghalaya have three steps falls comes down in flows from different levels over the fern-covered rocks and falls into the canyon down below. The best time to visit the waterfalls is during the monsoon when it offers a breath-taking scenery.

Nohkalikai falls: This waterfall located 4 kms away from Cherrapunjee and is possibly between 1500 and 2000 feet tall, known to be the fourth longest fall in the world. Nohsngithiang Falls (also known as the Seven Sisters Waterfalls or Mawsmai Falls).

Mawsmai Cave: This 250m long cave is the major attraction for the tourists in Cherrapunjee. This cave is located 6 kms away from Cherrapunjee near to Mawsmai village. Eco Park: The Eco Park has been designed by the Meghalaya government to facilitate tourist to enjoy the ‘Green Canyons” of Sohra as well as the waterfalls that lie around it. Overnight at hotel of Cherrapunjee.

Day 3 :- Cherrapunjee – Shillong Local Sightseeing (Half Day) – Guwahati

Morning after the breakfast half day city tour of Shillong visiting Donbosco Museum- Acclaimed as one the finest museum in Asia on the promotion of indigenous and tribal cultures. Cathedral of Mary Help of Christian – situated in At Laitumkhrah, it is the largest Cathedral in Meghalaya attracts thousands of devotees.

And then move to Guwahati. On arrival check-in at your hotel. Evening we may enjoy Cruising experience on river Brahmaputra. Alfresco Grand Sunset Cruise – A good cruise experience on mighty Brahmaputra River for beautiful sunset view.

Day 4 :- Guwahati – Kaziranga National Park

After having morning breakfast, visit Mata Kamakhya Devi Temple in Guwahati and then proceed to Kaziranga National Park, the home of the “One Horned Rhinoceros” (255 Kms / 5 Hrs Drive) .

Kamakhya Temple: The origin of Kamakhya Temple is pre Aryan situated atop the Nilachal Hill. It was restored by King Naranarayan of the Koch dynasty and rebuilt in its present form 1665 AD after it was destroyed by invading Mughals.

Check in at your Hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 5 :- Kaziranga National Park

Early morning explore Western Zone of Kaziranga National Park on back of elephant. Apart from world’s endangered One-horned Rhinoceros, the Park sustains half the world’s population of genetically pure Wild Water Buffaloes, over 1000 Wild elephants and perhaps the densest population of Royal Bengal Tigers anywhere.

Kaziranga is also a bird watcher’s paradise and home to some 500 species of birds. The Crested Serpent Eagle, Palla’s Fishing Eagle, Greyheaded Fishing Eagle, Swamp Partridge, Bar-headed goose, whistling Teal, Bengal Florican, Storks, Herons and Pelicans are some of the species found here.

We will return to the resort for breakfast. Afternoon we have arranged a jeep safari through the Central Zone of the National Park. Evening come back to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 6 :- Kaziranga to Guwahati

Transfer from Kaziranga to Guwahati (5 hrs approx).

Afternoon Guwahati Sightseeing – Visit Srimanta Shankardev Kalakhetra, Handicrafts & Handloom Emporium.

Evening come back to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 7 :- Guwahati - Departure:

After breakfast check out from hotel and with everlasting memories transfer to Guwahati airport for your onward journey.

Day 1 GUWAHATI TO SHILLONG

Welcome on arrival at Guwahati Airport / Station and transfer to Shillong (130 KMS / 3 hrs drive). Enroute visit Umiam Lake – created by damming the Umiam River in the early 1960s. The principal catchment area of the lake and dam is spread over 220 square km. Shillong – the capital of British-created Assam until 1972 – and is now the capital and hill station of Meghalaya, also known as “The Abode of Clouds”, one of the smallest states in India. Overnight in Shillong.

Morning enjoy Jeep Safari inside the National Park. Apart from the Rhino, other species found are hog deer, swamp deer, wild buffalo, elephants and if you are lucky, the tiger. It is virtually a paradise for bird watchers, with a variety of migratory and resident birds. It is also home to pelicans, storks and darters as there are a number of water bodies inside the Park. After breakfast at hotel you can visit tea plantations, rubber plantations. Afternoon enjoy Jeep safari in the Central Range. Kaziranga is a vast expanse of tall elephant grass, marshland, and dense tropical moist broadleaf forests, crisscrossed by four major rivers, including the Brahmaputra, and the park includes numerous small bodies of water. Overnight at Kaziranga.

All transfer & Sightseeing by using an Exclusive 1 A/C Innova OR Xylo (2-6 head per vehicle) as per itinerary on point to point basis (not on disposal) the vehicle will keep on changing as per sector, AC in vehicle will not be allowed in Hills. Carrier On Vehicle Is Not Allowed In This Part.
