Guy Fieri and Dollywood make a delicious combo. And thanks to the celebrity chef, East Tennessee is front and center on his newest Food Network show.

The second season of “Guy’s All-American Road Trip” premieres at 9 p.m. June 2. Knoxville, Sevierville and Pigeon Forge will be featured in several episodes this season as Fieri, his wife, Lori, and their two sons head out on an epic road trip through Appalachia.

“There’s nothing my friends and family dig more than loadin’ up the RV’s and hittin’ the open road,” Fieri said in a release. “This trip is filled with crazy adventures, family competitions and some of the best food Appalachia has to offer. Buckle up, it’s going to be a wild ride!”

In episodes two and three of the season, Fieri and company visit Pizza Palace in Knoxville, head to Dollywood, make a stop at Fieri’s own Downtown Flavortown restaurant in Pigeon Forge , and try to catch the golden trout at English Mountain Trout Farm in Sevierville.

Guy Fieri returns to Knoxville

The TV host and chef stopped by Pizza Palace on Magnolia Avenue to try new dishes on the menu. The pizza place was one of the first restaurants featured on Fieri’s show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” which highlights the best local restaurants around the country.

Fieri's 43,000-square-foot entertainment center in Pigeon Forge opened last year in the Mountain Mile Mall. It features a menu by Fieri , bowling, an arcade center and a tiki bar. Fieri made an appearance at its grand opening ceremony.

“Guy’s All-American Road Trip” will air at 9 p.m. Fridays on the Food Network. There are four hourlong episodes this season. Look for the Knoxville-centric episodes to air June 9 and 16.

The season also will feature stops in Nashville and Chattanooga, and in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Guy's All-American Road Trip

Food Network superstar Guy Fieri will continue to travel and eat across America for another season of his series, “Guy’s All-American Road Trip.”

The road trip series has been renewed for a second season by Food Network, Variety has learned exclusively.

“Guy’s All-American Road Trip” is a travel and food series that follows Fieri with his family — his wife, Lori, and his sons, Hunter and Ryder — as they pack up their RV for an epic road trip together, along with a caravan of campers full of their family and friends.

Popular on Variety

“Guy Fieri takes ‘road trip’ to the next level on ‘Guy’s All-American Road Trip,’” comments Betsy Ayala, head of content for food at Warner Bros. Discovery. “Audiences won’t want to miss Guy at the wheel leading the way to the most mouthwatering meals and iconic locations across Appalachia. Every episode has all the ingredients for the perfect vacation- family, food and fun, with a side of action and adventure.”

Fieri is one of Food Network’s most lucrative, successful and certainly recognizable stars with a plethora of shows across the network. Fieri — who, back in 2006, won the second season of the competition series, “Food Network Star,” which catapulted him to A-list celebrity chef territory — has six shows at Food Network, which he hosts and produces, including “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and “Tournament of Champions.” His programming portfolio extends beyond just food: with “Guy’s All-American Road Trip,” he delves into the travel genre, and with “Guy’s Ultimate Game Night,” he became a Hollywood game show host.

Guy Fieri and family are eating crab and cod right out of the water, greens straight from the farm and chicken fresh out of the fryer. Plus, they enjoy a ceviche celebration, a Chinese feast and a rainy-day chili that gets all the cooks into the kitchen.

The Fieris continue their epic road trip as gingerbread house baking turns into a decorating showdown and a traditional Bavarian meal. Plus, there's a zipline adventure, campground curry, over-the-top burgers and milkshake mania at a retro diner.

The Fieris are going whole-hog with barbecue and getting gourmet with prime rib and lobster. Plus, they visit Jim Belushi's Oregon farm to cook up Albanian recipes, and the families battle it out in their final games to determine the grand prize winner.

Guy Fieri and his caravan start their epic journey through Appalachia with an ice cream-making contest at a dairy and a pizza showdown at the campground. Plus, there's amazing food trucks, a trip back to the Old West and hot laps in Corvettes.

Guy Fieri & family hit road for 'awesome adventure' through Appalachia on new season of 'Guy's All-American Road Trip'

Premieres Friday, June 2, on Food Network

Guy Fieri, his wife Lori, and his sons Hunter and Ryder, pack up the RV for an epic road trip through Appalachia on the new season of the Emmy-nominated series “Guy’s All-American Road Trip.”

The show kicks off on Friday, June 2 (9 p.m. ET/PT), on Food Network, as the Fieris, along with a caravan of campers full of their family and friends, hit the road for an unforgettable trip full of wild adventures, family competitions, and some of the best food in Tennessee and Kentucky. Each of the four hour-long episodes is packed with dynamite dishes, iconic destinations and attractions. From crispy, juicy fried chicken at Dollywood, to tiki cocktails at Guy’s very own Downtown Flavortown, and to next-level barbecue camp-side, the eats are unlike anything they have had before. With stops at the National Corvette Museum for an action-packed race around the track, Guntown Mountain for a lasso competition, and Iron Mountain Metal Craft for a lesson in blacksmithing with a hands-on forging experience, it’s all big-time fun on this monster road trip.

“There’s nothing my friends and family dig more than loadin’ up the RV’s and hittin’ the open road,” Guy said. “This trip is filled with crazy adventures, family competitions, and some of the best food Appalachia has to offer. Buckle up, it’s going to be a wild ride!”

The Fieris and their closest family and friends embark on a trip of a lifetime with pit stops along the way to meet great people, eat incredible food, and make new memories. Before they hit the road, they must fuel up with a mouthwatering lunch in Nashville, served by some of Guy’s favorite local Triple D spots. Once they get to the campground, the rain doesn’t stop this crew from having a real deal Mexican feast. Then, it’s off to a fun roadside attraction in Bowling Green, Kentucky, that takes everyone on a trip back to the Old West. Next up, is Chaney’s Dairy Farm for an over-the-top, family against family, ice cream-making contest. They continue to milk Kentucky for an adrenaline pumping spin around the speedway at NCM Motorsports Park. After some hot laps, they head across the street for a tour of the National Corvette Museum. Plus, there is a real deal pizza showdown back at the campgrounds.

“Guy Fieri takes ‘road trip’ to the next level on ‘Guy’s All-American Road Trip,’ ” said Betsy Ayala, head of content, food, Warner Bros. Discovery. “Audiences won’t want to miss Guy at the wheel leading the way to the most mouthwatering meals and iconic locations across Appalachia. Every episode has all the ingredients for the perfect vacation – family, food and fun, with a side of action and adventure.”

On the next leg of the trip, the Fieris and friends are rolling out for the longest leg of the trip with some awesome surprises along the way. The first stop is in Petros, Tennessee, for finger-licking barbecue at a penitentiary – followed by a tour of the jail by a former inmate. Next, they make a detour at classic Triple D joint, Pizza Palace in Knoxville, Tennessee, to check out the new dishes they have been serving up. Then, they head to a party on the river, where the families dive into some water sports from boating, wakeboarding and tubing. After working up an appetite on the water, it’s a burger showdown between the families for dinner. The competition continues the next day at English Mountain Trout Farm as the kids must try to catch the golden trout. With all the fish they catch the families have a delicious trout cook-off at the campgrounds.

With 300 more miles of southern specialties and Appalachian experiences to cover, the caravan heads to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, for some next-level nachos, outrageous burgers, one-of-a-kind waffles and a tiki drink oasis at Guy’s very own Downtown Flavortown. The family competition get serious as they go head-to-head in a game of mini bowling. Then, they head down the street to discover how handmade knives are crafted. Next, they dig into homestyle fried chicken and cinnamon bread at Dollywood. To round out the day, the crew goes hog wild at a pit stop in Madisonville, Tennessee, at a bacon legend Benton’s Smoky Mountain Country Hams.

In South Pittsburg, Tennessee, Guy gets a tour that most chefs only dream about at the Lodge Cast Iron Foundry, where he learns how cast-iron cookware is made from raw material to finished product. Then it’s over to Sewanee, Tennessee, to check out Midway Mushrooms, where they produce a wide variety of gourmet mushrooms. Next, the families load up on southern sweets at a bakery that has been around for 120 years, Dutch Maid Bakery. Then, things get a little wild in Chattanooga when the families battle it out in a mechanical bull competition. They also head to the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, where the Fieris make a recipe to feed to the lemurs. For the last day of the trip, they head back to Nashville to make custom cowboy hats and enjoy authentic Tennessee barbecue to close out the epic trip around Appalachia.

Six Middle Tennessee restaurants have just earned serious bragging rights after being featured in a recent episode of Guy Fieri's "Best Bite in Town." The Food Network program spotlights different eateries in various towns across the United States, in order to find which among them reigns supreme.

Friday's episode took the "Bite Club" to Clarksville, where they sampled everything from a pulled pork and cinnamon roll sandwich, to a biscuits and gravy burrito and more.

At "Four Brothers Woodfired Pizza," celebrity chef Tiffani Faison sampled a classic Margherita pizza and a "Bok Bok like its Hot" chicken pizza. Faison also visited "Legends Smokehouse and Grill," where she tried the "Black Mamba" burger with a sweet, blueberry barbecue sauce and the "Pork-N-Roll," pulled pork atop a cinnamon roll.

Fieri's friend Noah Cappe stopped at "B's Cheesecakes," where he tried a caramel pecan praline cheesecake, a raspberry white chocolate moscato cheesecake and a banana pudding. Over at "Cafe 931," Cappe tried a broth-dripping quesabirria taco and couldn't get enough of a biscuits and gravy burrito, a dish the owner learned how to prepare during her time in the U.S. Army.

At Taco Loco, celebrity chef Jet Tila enjoyed a variety of Asian fusion tacos including a jerk chicken taco and a sweet and spicy Thai steak taco. He also visited Yada, where he sampled an Italian sausage Bolognese and a tiramisu.

The episode's finalists, Cafe 931, Four Brothers and Yada, all presented dishes before a panel of star judges including Maneet Chauhan and Star Maye. The dishes were evaluated not just on taste, but also presentation and craveability. The judges raved about the spice factor of the biscuits and gravy burrito, the acidic heat of the hot chicken pizza and the light, well balanced tiramisu.

In the end, it was the Yada's tiramisu which won over the judges. The restaurant was awarded $5,000 and an additional $5,000 to donate to the Urban Ministries Safehouse Program , a charity which offers services to victims of sexual and domestic assault.

'Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives': Follow Guy Fieri's lead to over 40 Arizona restaurants

guy fieri tennessee road trip

It's no secret that Guy Fieri loves Arizona. He told The Arizona Republic as much when he announced his massive tailgate party in Glendale ahead of the 2023 Super Bowl.

He also opened Guy Fieri’s Downtown Phoenix Kitchen + Bar inside the Caesars Sportsbook betting center near Chase Field in 2022 and plans to open a location in Terminal 4 of Phoenix Sky Harbor . But his love for the Grand Canyon state began years earlier, when he fell for the local dining scene.

He's highlighted Arizona restaurants dozens of times on his Food Network show "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives," for which he's visited more than 40 Arizona restaurants in metro Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff.

If you want to follow in his footsteps to Flavortown, here's a look at all the Arizona restaurants Guy Fieri visited for "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives."

Stop by for the Midwestern atmosphere and eclectic menu with items such as the Wolfpack — a hearty combo of eggs, bacon and cheese sandwiched between two layers of hash browns.

"It's a funky little breakfast joint. It's the kind of place you wish they had in every town," Fieri said. "It's the perfect to place to roll out to on those Saturday mornings."

Details : 4730 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. 602-468-3447. Other locations at  eatatovereasy.com.

Paradise Valley Burger Company

Innovation is at the forefront of this burger joint. The country-fried burger is topped with two fried beef patties, a spicy jalapeño gravy and crispy onions. "It takes the regular everyday burger to another level," Fieri said.

In Round 2, chef-owner Bret Shapiro created a burger recipe using "the three food groups": vodka, whiskey and beer. The result? A beer-battered burger with vodka cream sauce and whiskey-pickled fresno chiles.

Details : 4001 E. Bell Road, Phoenix. 602-535-4930.  paradisevalleyburgercompany.com.

Perk Eatery

Husband-and-wife owners of this northeast Phoenix breakfast and lunch spot fed Fieri three dishes. One was breakfast pork enchiladas with New Mexican chili sauce and a fried egg. Another was the wine country French toast: two slices of griddled challah with melted Brie topped with slow-roasted red grapes and a wine-and-maple syrup.

Details : 6501 E. Greenway Parkway, Phoenix. 480-998-6026,  perkeatery.com.

Republica Empanada

The empanadas at this popular Mesa spot give customers a taste of Latin America with more than a dozen sweet and savory combinations. Jinette Meraz cooks for Fieri on the “Mom’s Kitchen” episode of Triple D, which aired in December 2017.

Details : 204 E. First Ave., Mesa. (480) 969-1343. republicaempanada.com.

Slanted Rice Vietnamese Bistro

Located in the heart of Scottsdale, this bistro offers modern and traditional Vietnamese food. It's owned by Hue Tran and Ty Chu. The Tran family is behind Rice Paper in Phoenix and Saigon Kitchen in Surprise. Fieri called Slanted Rice “a legit Vietnamese spot that cooks up specialties like killer clay-pot chicken.”

Details:  6149 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale. 480 696-3116,  slantedrice.com

St. Francis (closed)

If you're following in Fieri's footsteps, order the Pig Dip at this central Phoenix restaurant. Similar to a French dip, this sandwich is filled with wood-fired pork, Applewood bacon, Gruyere, prosciutto, fennel-onion marmalade and Dijon mustard. It's served on a toasted house-made baguette that soaks up the pork au jus. Fieri said it was in "the top five pork sandwiches I have ever had and the top five dip sandwiches I have ever had."

Details : Closed at 111 E. Camelback Road, Phoenix. 602-200-8111,  stfrancisaz.com.

Tacos Chiwas

This taco shop is the first venture of Armando Hernandez and his wife, Nadia Holguin, both from Chihuahua, Mexico. Hand-pressed corn tortillas are griddled to order as a boost to the classic street taco, and the rajas gordita is the epitome of comfort food, wrote dining critic Dominic Armato .

Details : 1028 E. Indian School Rd, Phoenix. 602-358-8830. And, 127 W. Main St, Mesa. Additional location at tacoschiwas.com.

Thee Pitts Again (closed)

"Low and slow" is the M.O. at this Glendale barbecue joint. Catfish, shrimp, pork and whole turkeys are first covered in a spice rub, then cooked in a mesquite smoker. The house barbecue sauce is a mixture of brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and ketchup. The restaurant closed April 4, 2020 after 40 years of business in Arizona, according to a Facebook post.

Details : Closed at 5558 W. Bell Road, Glendale. 602-996-7488,  theepittsagain.com.

Tim Finnegan's Irish Pub

When Fieri visited Tim Finnegan's Irish Pub ahead of the 2024 NCAA Final Four men's basketball tournament, he greatly enjoyed the sports bar's signature shepherd's pie.

Details : 17045 N. 59th Ave., Glendale. 602-875-8331,  timfinnegans.com .

Tom’s Thumb Fresh Market

Opened in 2012 inside a gas station/car wash, Tom's Thumb is an unlikely destination for barbecue in the Valley. But its melt-in-your-mouth brisket, pulled pork and Kansas City barbecue sauce are hits among customers, including Fieri.

Details : 9393 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale. 480-513-8186.  thethumb.com.

Tortas Chano

Fieri visited this family-owned Mexican restaurant when it was still located in a gas station. It has since moved to an Anthem shopping center, but it is still serving carne asada, al pastor pork, spicy green sauce and menudo, a traditional soup with tripe, onion, garlic, guajillo peppers and hominy.

Details : 39510 N. Daisy Mountain Drive, Anthem. 623-465-1515,  tortaschano.com.

The Wild Thaiger

Olashawn Weaver, who learned from her mother how to cook traditional Thai food, returned to her roots to open The Wild Thaiger in Phoenix. She chose the name to reflect "a culinary adventure." With Fieri in the kitchen, she cooked a customer favorite: wonton-wrapped meatballs, made of pork, shrimp and crab, and covered in a dragon egg sauce. Next up was skewered pork over papaya salad. "Nice and fresh, really bright," Fieri said. "You nailed it."

Details : 2631 N. Central Ave., Phoenix. 602-241-8995. wildthaiger.com.

Guy's Family Road Trip

Guy's family road trip episodes, the fieris go griswold.

Guy Fieri and his family hit the wide-open road for a classic American summer vacation: a coast-to-coast road trip in search of iconic landscapes, epic adventures and delicious eats. The first leg takes the Fieris from their home in northern California to Lake Tahoe, Calif. where decadent Belgian waffles fuel a day of mountain biking. Then they get a bird's eye view of American ingenuity at the Hoover Dam before grabbing traditional Mexican mole and homemade salsa at Guy's restaurant in Laughlin, Nev. Later in Flagstaff, Ariz. the Fieris get to taste the red and green chiles at the local Chile Festival. They finish it all off with a cold glass of mead brewed with local wildflower honey.

Wild West Canyons and Cookouts

Guy Fieri and his family hit the wide-open road for a coast-to-coast road trip in search of iconic landscapes, epic adventures and delicious eats. First in Flagstaff, Ariz. the Fieris head to a farmer's market where they find fresh organic chicken and roasted green chiles. Then they fly through the Grand Canyon and cook up a homemade chicken taco dinner on a Lake Powell houseboat. After some quirky stops along legendary Route 66, they land in Albuquerque, N.M. to explore American's most traditional food, the so-called Three Sisters crops, corn, beans and squash, grown by the Native Americans of the Southwest.

Remember the Lone Star State

Guy Fieri and his family catch classic military history at the Alamo before heading to the modern-day Lackland Air Force Base. There, chef Robert Irvine joins to cook a feast of tri-tip French dip, pork tacos, spatchcock chicken and Cajun chicken alfredo to thank the troops for their service. But no good deed goes unpunished, as members of the special forces invite Guy and his son, Hunter, to skydive with them. Finally, the Fieris head for King Ranch to visit some contemporary cowboys and join in a cowboy cookout of smoked nilgai antelope and all the fixings.

Gulf Dreams

Guy Fieri and his family rise at dawn in Corpus Christi, Texas to head out on the Gulf in search of snapper. The fishing's good, so they take their catch to a nearby ranch where Guy and his friends fry up the fish, along with some chicken parmesan, for the evening feast. In New Orleans, Guy searches for the perfect po' boy in the back of an off-the-beaten path grocery store before visiting Johnny Sanchez, where Chef Aaron Sanchez shows Guy how to make ceviche and a soft-shell crab sandwich. Finally, a canoe tour of the bayou ends with a festive crawfish boil in fine Cajun form.

To Shining Sea

Guy Fieri and his family stop in Fairhope, Ala. to visit their friend Panini Pete and see one of the most unusual farming operations in the country: oysters! Guy and his son, Hunter, wade into the Gulf to harvest the oysters for a local pop-up dinner. Then, Guy takes Hunter and Ryder to Punta Clara Kitchen to make old-fashioned candies from scratch before they head for Florida. There, the Fieris explore the Everglades by airboat and cook a feast of frog legs and fried gator before winding up their epic adventure on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean in Miami.
