Facebook Headquarters Tour: Visiting the Happiest Place in Tech

One of my closest friends, Kim (who travels with me some), now works for Facebook. At the time it was still a brand new job for her and she needed to go out to the main campus in Menlo Park for training. She mentioned she would probably go that fall and invited me along.

Seeing as though I was already traveling for most of October, I didn’t think it was going to work. However, the dates turned out to be a couple of days after I got home from Iceland and about four days before I left for Dallas . That wasn’t going to work…or was it?

Sometimes you do what you have to do to capitalize on experiences you may never again get the opportunity to do. Kim had no idea when or if she would have a need to return to the main campus so my Facebook headquarters tour was either now or possibly never. Psshh…adding two more hours to the jet lag difference wasn’t going to matter that much, right? Especially when the hotel and car are already provided for Kim by Facebook. I’m a bonus! 😉

And, just like that, I booked my flight, ignored the fact that my travel dates for October grossly outweighed the days I would be home and told Kim I was on board! Not many people get this opportunity and who needs sleep anyway?

My Facebook Headquarters Tour

Now that I have been a bit dramatic in the re-telling of my decision making, I should mention that there is no Facebook headquarters tour open to the public. Facebook doesn’t offer them and you can’t walk through campus without knowing an employee who is willing to guide you the entire time. And no, sauntering in hoping you’ll get lucky by asking for an exception isn’t going to work.

While you can’t tour Facebook without knowing someone on the inside, you can take a photo with its famous sign! I love the address!

Arrival and Check-In at Classic Campus

We arrived at the Classic Campus and entered Building 10 early since thankfully, we didn’t have any traffic issues in transit from the hotel . Kim had already given my name to Facebook a while back to let them know I was coming.

They verified my ID, checked me in on an iPad and the next thing I know I had my temporary Facebook permit around my neck on a lanyard. It was super easy!

First Impressions

Facebook is anything BUT your typical corporate headquarters. It straight up reminded me of Disneyland honestly. Its very colorful, happy vibe looked a lot like walking down Main Street in Disneyland without all the people.

If I remember correctly, it’s designed to look like the streets of Palo Alto and having visited Palo Alto (on this same trip), I would agree that it does!

We were so early that breakfast hadn’t started yet so we stopped in at Philz Coffee for coffee and hot chocolate while we waited for breakfast to open.

Finally, breakfast was served at Cafe Epic, the main cafe on campus.

It is gigantic. This is just part of the serving area. I won’t get into how much seating the cafe has because it went on for ages.

And let’s talk about the timing of breakfast for a second.

I thoroughly love that breakfast in this workplace is served later from 8-10am. If you don’t like to eat early in the morning ( 🙋‍♀️), then you can eat after getting a little work done.

They accommodate all diets including vegetarian, vegan and there’s a juice bar too. There were even vegan tater tots which as you can tell I took full advantage of even though I’m not vegan. They tasted the same as nonvegan tots-yummy!

My breakfast buffet included French toast with vegan syrup, eggs, fruit, maple chicken sausage, vegan tater tots, and freshly squeezed OJ!

That freshly squeezed OJ I had? I know that’s a popular term, but this really was just the juice from the orange squeezed into a glass. No other additives. It was amazingly fantastic and reminded me of the freshly squeezed OJ I had all over Morocco !

Welcome to Facebook

Full and happy from a fantastic breakfast, we ventured out and came upon Hacker Square, the main square where movies, parties and even Q&A sessions by Mark Zuckerberg himself are held. Interesting name, isn’t it? I will explain that in a minute but first look closely at this photo.

See the dark gray concrete squares? Those spell out HACK in letters so big you can see them on a satellite view from Google Maps! The one in this picture is the “H”.

Now look on the ground just above the H. Right below the red columns (or in front of depending on how you visualize) is a series of nine dark gray stripes. Those will be important below so keep reading!

I visited in the month of October. Facebook calls it “Hacktober” as it is the name of their annual campaign designed to maintain a security-conscious culture. The campaign runs the entire month and includes everything from phishing tests to contests and workshops.

Exploring Facebook Headquarters

Okay so back to Hacker Square. As you saw previously, there is “The Hacker Company” at the top of the one building. Here inside this building, there is “Hack” followed by motivational snippets.

Hacker Square, Hacker Company, Hack spelled out in large concrete squares on the ground. What is with all the Hacker stuff?

Well, Mark Zuckerberg explains here how they use “the hacker way” at Facebook as a unique company management approach.

And, wondering about those nine dark gray stripes? They are a monument to the illegal crosswalk , an event that happened as a part of an overnight hackathon in 2007. It’s definitely an interesting read!

Instagram & Facebook Photo Booth Fun

An Instagram photo booth? Absolutely, don’t mind if I do!

Keep in mind that although this campus does have visitors, it is not open to the public and was built to provide a positive work experience and atmosphere. Everywhere I looked there were fun things like this to do, places to express opinions or deep thoughts and an environment that promotes comfort. We saw many employees working outside at tables in the courtyard, sitting under trees, or working from the coffee shop and cafes!

Working from the Spa at Facebook

Bet you weren’t expecting that one were you? I knew ahead of time we would be visiting the on-campus spa at Facebook. They had booked Kim in for a pedicure as part of her visit. It’s only for employees though so while I couldn’t get one, they brought me back and let me sit in the massage chair next to her. That was what I needed anyway after flying across the Atlantic and then across the USA in 3 days’ time!

Oculus Demo

We were both booked into a demo of the latest Oculus. This was my first experience with virtual reality and it was pretty amazing. It had me thinking I was on top of a skyscraper about to fall off. Yes, I knew I was perfectly safe inside a building with a flat floor, but virtual reality makes you think real reality. I thought twice about each step I took and might have let out a tiny scream…or two…or three!

Visiting MPK 20-Bayfront Campus

Crossing underground-you can walk or take one of the many bikes available on campus!

After Oculus, we decided to cross over to the Bayfront Campus to explore one of the newer kids on the block, Building MPK 20. Completed in 2015, there are lots of interesting facts about MPK 20. Designed by Frank Gehry, the architect behind designs such as Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, this 433,555 square foot two-story building has warehouse-style office space with parking below for 1,500!

Rooftop Garden

Above the office space? Eh, no big deal…it’s just a nine-acre green roof! It only includes more than 350 trees and is home to hundreds of local birds. Inspired by the Highline in NYC, there are also work cabanas and cafes. As I said, no biggie!

At the top of the (left) ramp we got this (right) view of the Classic Campus as well as the salt flats.

What about sustainability? Check. The insulation of the green roof plus MPK 20’s energy systems combine to make it 25% more efficient than Title 24 which is California’s tough energy code. That is serious sustainability!

Kim had heard there was a great grilled cheese cafe called Fromage over at MPK 20 so we decided to have lunch there. Gracious, it had been a good five minutes since we’d had anything to eat because Facebook just doesn’t have many options. 😂

I put in my order for their classic grilled cheese, grabbed a bag of chips, and a drink out of the refrigerator and chowed down. Just like breakfast, lunch was quite satisfying!

Return to Classic

We slowly made our way back to the Classic Campus but took a different path out of MPK 20. I’m so glad we did because otherwise, we would have missed this view…

and its beautiful art! Facebook has an A rtist I n R esidence program that focuses on integrating art in the workplace so that people don’t necessarily set it apart from its surroundings. It isn’t meant for the art to fade into the background but instead to become an essential part of the work environment.

The artists are encouraged to immerse in the culture and are allowed to explore the buildings, find where they want to display their art, and then are given an entire studio of resources to bring their artistic creation to life. While I’m sure the interview process (as with any hire at Facebook) is extremely selective, how cool is it to have that kind of freedom as an artist?

I wish I had known about the AIR while I was on campus so I could have figured out the artist who painted this. I fell in love with it and photographed it from all angles. We saw a lot of art on the main campus too but inside photography near office workspace wasn’t encouraged. However, you can read more on the AIR and see a photo tour of several of its creations .

After leaving our artistic high at MPK 20 on Bayfront Campus, we arrived back to the colorful buildings on Classic Campus for more exploration.

Hey, I feel it’s worth mentioning. This is how far Facebook goes with its employee perks. If you need anything at all, it’s right here! Including the really cool toothbrushes that already have the water-activated toothpaste on them!

Facebook Finds

That’s right, folks. Ship happens here at Facebook. Wherever you need to send your Ship, they have you covered!

My favorite find? Learning there is a family of foxes that chose to raise their babies in the Zen garden on campus. As this article states , the foxes adopted approximately 2,500 proud parents into their skulk (what you call a group of foxes…who knew?) in the form of Facebook employees!

Facebook Swag

You better believe I took full advantage of all the Facebook and Instagram swag I could find. Kim had already gotten me a turquoise Instagram shirt. I bought another one in hot pink, a charcoal gray Instagram sweatshirt, a black Facebook shirt, a WhatsApp pen, and a “Facebook Like” magnet.

So, yes, if you’re keeping track, those are all blog colors! 🙌

I also got the cutest little kid’s Instagram and Facebook shirts for my nephew. Even though I purchased larger sizes, he will outgrow them soon and my sister is already begging me for new ones. The problem is they can only be bought from the store on campus. Since they are rare and unique to the public, I should have known she would love them and thought to buy several in much bigger sizes!

Whew, that concludes my Facebook headquarters tour. What a fantastic experience!! THANK YOU KIM!!

Hopefully, this gives you some insight into not only what a Facebook headquarters tour is like, but also the positive working environment that Facebook provides. Hence why I call it the happiest place in tech. Isn’t it amazing to think that this multi-billion dollar global company was started by a student on a college campus?

Love that you got a Facebook tour. Years ago, Therese and I worked in Silicon Valley at an Internet startup. And while all the bells and whistles and bright colors and all the perks look really really cool, there is one often-overlooked and underlying message that still pervades at Google, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook … we are providing you all of these cool things so you don’t have to leave work because we expect you to work REALLY REALLY long hours. Such a cool and interesting place to get the opportunity to see the inner workings of. Do you know how I could arrange some sort of visit or appointment at the Facebook visitor center? I was a victim of ID theft and I lost my Facebook account as a result. I am unable to get back I to my account even after sending my ID to the security department. I am willing to fly to California to try to get my account back. It has so many photos from my past – which I cannot access anywhere else. I also want to make sure the hacker cannot use the account against me. Any advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

People Are “Appalled” At Blake Lively’s “Out Of Touch” Response To A Serious Question About Domestic Violence Amid The “It Ends With Us” Press Tour

Amid growing backlash over the promotion of It Ends with Us , Blake Lively is being called out for her response to a question about domestic violence in a new interview.

Blake stars alongside Justin Baldoni in the recently-released film, which is an adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel. Focusing on the generational cycle of domestic violence, the story follows flower shop owner Lily Bloom, played by Blake, as she navigates an abusive relationship with Justin’s character, Ryle Kincaid.

Throughout the press tour, Blake has faced criticism for how she’s promoted the movie — which has, along with the book, been scrutinized by some for how it tackles the subject of domestic violence.

While Blake has touched on the movie's darker themes occasionally, she has undoubtedly remained lighthearted throughout most of the press tour. For example, she’s focused much of her energy on her floral looks , which reference her character's name and profession. She even says in the film’s official TikTok account’s promotional clip, “Grab your friends, wear your florals,” as she encourages people to watch the movie.

Blake has also used the film’s press tour to promote her drinks company, Betty Buzz , and her newly launched hair care line . Moreover, she recently posted a video of a “girl talk” at her apartment with some of the other women featured in the movie. “I’m gonna be sad when marketing is over and I don’t have excuses to sit on my couch dressed up with you ladies,” she wrote in the caption.

Additionally, Blake has involved her husband Ryan Reynolds, who is currently starring in Deadpool & Wolverine , in much of her promotion of It Ends with Us . It has been revealed that Ryan worked on parts of the movie — something that Blake drew large attention to — and, earlier this month, he  jokingly interviewed Brandon Sklenar, who plays Blake’s other love interest in the film.

Blake’s lighthearted promotion of It Ends with Us has infuriated several internet users, who were hoping she’d use this press tour to draw attention to the movie’s darker themes.

“As a DV survivor, I am absolutely disgusted by the cutesy way this film is being promoted. Like it’s a rom-com, grab your girls and your florals? I wish you could feel empathy to the deep and dark things myself and other women have had to experience. Instead of making it about florals and sparkles,” one person wrote on Instagram. Another user wrote, “Disappointed that your promoting YOUR OWN hair care products and flower dresses rather then shining more light on DV.”

Amid the backlash, Blake recently shared a BBC interview  clip filmed at a screening of It Ends with Us , in which she says, “This movie covers domestic violence, but what's important about this film is that she is not just a survivor and she's not just a victim and while those are huge things to be, they're not her identity.”

She also wrote over the clip, “Thank you to everyone who came out to show that people WANT to see films about women, and the multitudes we hold. It Ends with Us is a story of the female experience. All the highest highs, and lowest lows. And we are so proud of it. We have been in celebration of this film and of getting a message so important out there to the masses.”

Justin, on the other hand, has consistently promoted the movie very differently. Not only has he actively platformed anti-domestic abuse nonprofit No More, but he has focused his promotional interviews around the subject of domestic abuse.

“The message is the most important thing. That’s why [Colleen] wrote the book,” he said last week. “I was always thinking about the outcome and the why, and the one woman I was making this for who would sit in that theater and maybe not go back to her abusive relationship.”

Fast-forward to now, and Blake has been called out for another It Ends with Us promotional interview.

In a recent Jake’s Takes interview , hosted by Jake Hamilton, Blake — who appears alongside her costar Brandon — is asked about how people affected by the movie might approach her in public to discuss some of its themes.

“Most of us, if we’re lucky enough to run into a celebrity in public, we only have a few moments to maybe speak with you guys. But for people who see this movie who relate to the topics on a deeply personal level, they’re really gonna wanna talk to you. This movie is gonna affect people, and they’re gonna wanna tell you about their life,” the interviewer began.

“If someone understands the themes of this movie, comes across you in public, and they wanna really talk to you, what’s the best way for them to be able to talk to you about this? How would you recommend they go about it?” he asked Blake.

Blake proceeded to make a joke as she sarcastically questioned, “Like, asking for my address, or my phone number, or, like, location share?”

“I could just location share you,” she said before laughing. The interviewer quipped back, “Social security number?” to which Blake replied, “I’m a Virgo, so like, are we talking logistics, are we talking emotionally?”

As Blake spoke, Brandon — who didn’t laugh — awkwardly looked to the floor.

Blake then answered more seriously, “Yeah, what’s been beautiful about this movie is that, like, unfortunately, we all know at least someone, but we normally know a lot more than someones, we know some manys who have experienced this. And the beauty of this has been to see people, and to see this movie alongside women who haven’t experienced this — thank Goodness — go, ‘Woah, I fell in love, too. I saw the red flags, but they didn’t look red; they looked kinda fuchsia and cute. But you know, I ignored them.’”

Several internet users have been left “appalled” at Blake’s initial “dismissive” response to Jake’s question.

“The question was kind of serious, and she decided to make it about herself,” one tweet read , while another added , “this is so disrespectful knowing what the movie is about.”

“what was so hard about her taking this question seriously,” one more user wrote . “i’ve been so disappointed at how she’s been acting throughout this whole press run.”

Meanwhile, other users drew attention to Blake’s body language, questioning why she was sitting curled up on the sofa while Brandon sat upright in a more serious manner.

It’s worth noting that some people defended Blake, suggesting that she shouldn’t be expected to listen to other people’s experiences and that she was just setting that boundary with her answer. However, others argued that given she starred in and helped produce a film heavily centered around domestic violence, she should show a little more empathy when answering serious questions about the subject.

“Two things can be true: Blake Lively shouldn't be held responsible for holding others' trauma, AND her response, given how people will naturally respond to her film, is weird. It's as simple as saying, ‘I hope this film inspires meaningful conversations about DV and helps,’” one person said .

One user compared Blake with actor Jodie Comer, who highlighted statistics around sexual assault while promoting her Broadway show Prima Facie last year. In it, Jodie portrayed a lawyer defending men accused of sexual assault, who is assaulted herself.

“I can’t help but think of the stark contrast with Jodie Comer’s handling of Prima Facie - the respect, appreciation and compassion she showed victims is exactly what this woman should be trying to emulate. It’s not hard to be a decent human being,” they wrote .

The value of the Invitation to Idaho scholarship at U of I for the 2024-25 academic year is nearly $16,000. That’s nearly $64,000 in value over the course of four years!

The University of Idaho extends an Invitation to Idaho to qualifying students from all states and countries except for the WUE states (see map below).

There’s no separate application or deadline for the Invitation to Idaho scholarship program. Simply complete your U of I admission application to be considered. It’s that easy! Tuition and Cost Comparison

1 Housing and Meals expenses reflect the average costs of living on or off campus. Students who live with their parents, non-traditional students or students who have dependent children living with them have cost of attendance adjustments. Other than these situations, a student's living arrangement does not affect the cost of attendance used by Student Financial Aid Services.

Rangkaian badminton BWF World Tour Agustus 2024 setelah Olimpiade akan dibuka dengan gelaran Japan Open di Yokohama Arena, Jepang, pada 20-25 Agustus 2024. Japan Open 2024 menjadi paling bergengsi di bulan Agustus lantaran berkategori BWF World Tour Super 750.

Dengan demikian, Japan Open 2024 berada pada level 3 grade 2 dalam klasifikasi turnamen BWF. Japan Open hanya 1 tingkat di bawah turnamen seperti Indonesia Open, China Open, Malaysia Open, hingga All England.

Berdasarkan rilis Tournament Software BWF , Indonesia rencananya bakal menerjunkan sekitar 12 wakil terbaik, termasuk beberapa pebulutangkis yang baru saja tampil di Olimpiade 2024.

Seperti tahun ini, Bagas/Fikri gagal lolos Olimpiade 2024 dengan cara yang cukup menyakitkan. Mereka terdepak hanya karena tak mampu menyalip pasangan China, Liu Yu Chen/Ou Xian Y.

Sebaliknya, Leo/Daniel juga kerap jadi asa Merah Putih untuk meraih gelar. Leo/Daniel bahkan jadi pasangan Indonesia pertama yang meraih gelar BWF World Tour 2024 ini, tepatnya di ajang Indonesia Master.

Namun penampilan Leo/Daniel kerap dianggap kurang konsisten. Mereka juga gagal lolos ke Olimpiade dengan peringkat lebih rendah dari Bagas/Fikri. Dengan begitu, duet baru Bagas/Leo dan Fikri/Daniel berpotensi menjadi kebangkitan ganda putra Merah Putih.

Korea Open 2024 akan dihelat Mokpo Indoor Stadium, Korea Selatan (Korsel) pada 27 Agustus-1 September 2024.

Indonesia kemungkinan akan kembali menyertakan beberapa skuad terbaiknya di Korea Open 2024. Setidaknya ada 9 wakil yang kemungkinan tampil di ajang tersebut. Masing-masing ialah Jonatan Christie, Anthony Ginting, dan Chico Aura di sektor tunggal putra.

Kemudian Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, dan Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo di sektor tunggal putri. Ganda putra oleh Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin, dan Bagas Maulana/Leo Rolly Carnando. Why Badge’s device independent MFA is core to the future of identity security

Identities are best-sellers on the dark web, with health and finance records being among the most valuable due to their lack of traceability and outdated approaches to protecting them that often include hackable device-dependent MFA techniques. Existing approaches that force device authentication are falling short of the challenge.

When authentication techniques rely on devices alone as trust anchors, they’re leaving widening gaps that attackers continue improving their tradecraft to exploit. Relying on specific devices to authenticate access also introduces greater friction that every user has to experience to get their work done. Attackers are using authentication fatigue techniques combined with phishing and adversary-in-the-middle (AITM) attacks, all aimed at hijacking a device recovery process.

“When we founded Badge, our mission was to solve one of the hardest problems in authentication by moving the trust anchor for digital identities to the human instead of relying on a hardware device that can be lost or stolen,” Tina Srivastava, co-founder of Badge , told VentureBeat during a recent interview.

“We eliminate the secrets in the authentication process. Both the human identity, like biometrics, and the private key are completely eliminated with Badge, ” Srivastava continued.

Hardware-dependent MFA: A compelling attack target

Cybercrime gangs, syndicates and nation-state attackers continue growing their arsenal of SIM swapping, AITM and Living off the Land (LOTL) attack techniques and technologies. The result: the world’s most at-risk industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, fintech and others, are increasingly vulnerable to identity-based attacks.

“Adversaries continue to maximize the use of stolen identities and attempt to minimize defenders’ network visibility by ‘living off the land’ and therefore reducing potential indicators or alerts on the endpoint, which the adversary knows is heavily scrutinized. This tactic hinders threat hunters’ ability to differentiate adversary activity from typical user and system administrator activity, “​writes CrowdStrike in their recently released 2024 Threat Hunting Report .

Healthcare is under siege in 2024 . Making matters worse, MFA is sporadically implemented across the industry, and device-dependent approaches to MFA are becoming easier for criminal gangs and nation-state attackers to break. “Multifactor authentication (MFA) can provide a robust line of defense, but it is often implemented unevenly, and successful attacks on MFA implementations are on the rise,” according to Gartner in their recent report, How to Mitigate Account Takeover Risks .

A recent check of The Health and Human Services HHS Breach Portal finds that more than 45 million patient records have been compromised in 2024 year-to-date. Healthcare providers, including hospitals, clinics and treatment centers, have experienced 365 breaches this year alone, 86% of which started with an IT-based attack on networks. 

“Multifactor authentication (MFA) can provide a robust line of defense, but it is often implemented unevenly, and successful attacks on MFA implementations are on the rise,” according to Gartner in their recent report, How to Mitigate Account Takeover Risks .

The need for device-independent MFA

 “With Badge, the device dependency is gone — people are their own roots of trust rather than just a device or token,” Srivastava says. She explained that this approach not only strengthens identity-based security it also improves user experiences by eliminating the need for fallback authentication processes, which attackers often target.

Since the company’s founding, she and her team have moved quickly in the healthcare, finance and manufacturing industries to close the growing gaps their customers were seeing with hardware-dependent authentication techniques. Badge is seeing steady adoption in healthcare and finance, where firms want to have their front-line workers enroll once and then authenticate on any workstation or device without needing to register again.

Badge’s impact and partnerships

Badge is attracting a growing base of partners based on their ability to deliver device-independent MFA at scale across enterprises. Partnerships and integrations include Microsoft, Okta, PingIdentity, Radiant Logic, ForgeRock, and, most recently, Cisco Duo , who sought out Badge for a partnership.

“Badge not only streamlines access across applications and devices but crucially reduces the risk of phishing attacks or credential exposure, making it an indispensable tool for maintaining the integrity of secure environments. Badge is excited to partner with Cisco Duo to bring this important security and user experience benefit to Duo users,” Srivastava told VentureBeat. 

Srivastava says the integration with Cisco Duo unlocks new identity and authentication use cases while reducing friction and enabling seamless passwordless enrollment using verifiable credentials (VCs).

In a recent blog post announcing the partnership, Kyle Kilcoyne, global head, of partnerships and technology at Badge, and Ginger Leishman, technology partnerships manager at Cisco, wrote, “Badge offers a cost-saving solution to help reduce friction and enable seamless, passwordless enrollment using verified credentials (VCs). Badge leverages the initial Identity Verification (IDV) enrollment, and from there the user can authenticate to access this credential anywhere, anytime, on any device. No need for repeat IDVs throughout the user’s lifetime journey. This saves money and user frustration.”

Cisco’s post continues, saying that “in addition to simplifying the enrollment process, Duo can also operate as a certified passkey provider leveraging Badge, extending the  passwordless  capabilities of Duo.” 

Badge’s vision for the future

“We see Badge as being the foundation of the identity backplane of the internet. It will be the way that every person authenticates to every application in the world,” Srivastava predicts.

Integration is key to Badge’s growth. It’s an area Srivastava and her team have continued to concentrate on, seeing it as key to their ability to scale quickly across enterprises. “Badge can plug and play with open standards like OIDC. So if a company has Okta, Ping, Microsoft Azure AD, or similar systems deployed, Badge can integrate with open standards,” Srivastava said.

Seeing integration as table stakes for growing at scale has been a priority since the company was founded. Today, the company has zero-code integration in place supporting Oauth2, OpenID Connect, SAML and FIDO standards.

Srivastava notes that CISOs continue to contact the company, offering their expertise and guidance to the fast-growing startup. In response, Badge created a CISO Council. “We’ve had many folks approaching us wanting to be part of it, wanting equity, and wanting to be part of the future vision of Badge. They also want to shape the industry and the thinking around identity and privacy,” Srivastava said.

“Jeremy Grant, former Senior Executive Advisor at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) who joined our CISO Council, is a huge proponent of PKI. He helped write the original legislation that led to PKI and CAC cards in the DOD. He has always cared about public key cryptography but has been fascinated by the usability challenges that Badge solves,” she said.  When joining the Badge CISO Council, Jeremy Grant said, “As we look to advance more user-centric approaches to identity, Badge is a promising way to address core security and usability challenges and get to the next frontier.”

With identities under siege and attackers looking for new ways to defeat device-dependent MFA, Badge’s innovative approach to reducing user fatigue and risk while redefining trust anchors at scale is needed to better protect every business facing identity-driven cyberattacks.
