Il Vovo (formed in 2010) is the award-winning Italian operatic pop trio of Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Inoble, hailing from Sanremo, Italy.

In 2009 the three members of Il Vovo, tenors Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto, and baritone Gianluca Ginoble, all competed as teenagers in the televised singing competition “Ti lassie luna canzone”. Ginolble’s version of the Andrea Bocelli song “Il mare calm della sera” went on to win the first episode, after which the director of the show Roberto Cenci had the idea of putting the three singers together. Adopting a similar format to the infamous Three Tenors, the group performed for the first time with the single “O sole mil” on the fourth episode of the show. Singer-songwriter and music producer Rony Renis subsequently heard the performance and went to great lengths to sign them to Geffen Records.

Originally named “I Tre Tenorini”, the group contributed to the 2010 charity single “We Are the World 25 for Haiti”, a rendition of the 1985 hit “We Are the World”. Towards the tail-end of 2010 the name was changed to Il Vovo and the group recorded their debut, self-titled album in the Abbey Road Studios in London, England, which featured the national and international numbers “Il mondo”, “Un amore cosí grande”, and Charlie Chaplin’s “Smile”. Issued by Geffen Records in November 2010 the record peaked at No. 6 on the Italian Albums Chart, representing their mainstream breakthrough. The U.S. release of the album was promoted by appearances on “Good Morning America”, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, and “The Tonight Show”, and charted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200.

Il Vovo’s sophomore album “We Are Love” failed to achieve the success of its debut, peaking at No. 100 on the Billboard 200 upon its release in 2010. Featuring duets with the likes of Placido Domingo and Eros Ramazzotti, the album was promoted by performing at the 80th annual tree lighting at the Rocketfeller Center in New York. A month later the group also sung at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Norway, performing the tracks “Il Monde” and “We Are Love”, before the group embarked on their 2012 South American Tour.

The internationally released Christmas album “Buon Natale: The Christmas Album” earned its release in October 2013, featuring classic Christmas songs from Latin, Spanish, German, and English-speaking cultures. The record topped the Billboard Holiday Albums chart after which Il Vovo received two Latin Billboard Music Award nominations for Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year and Latin Pop Albums Artist of the Year for which they won the latter. The group’s third official album “Sanremo grande amore” arrived in February 2015 led by the single “Grande amore”. Featuring covers of infamous songs by Eduardo De Crescenzo, Matia Bazar, and Renato Rascel, the album topped the Italian Albums Chart and peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Classical Albums Chart.

My husband and I went to an Il Volo concert in Miami on March 5, 2016.

It was stupendous and my husband and I both loved it. The boys were in fine form and their singing was glorious. We were amazed at their capability of sustaining such a rigorous show with all their singing and banter. The music accompanying the boys was also wonderful. All in all it was a wonderful experience.

The banter of the boys was cute and appropriate for such young men and it seemed to me sweet and good-natured, though maybe it was a tad too long in spots. Also, my only disappointment was that they did not sing all the songs of theirs that I love, but I guess we would have been there until morning. That is what CD's are for, I guess!

I took binoculars with me to better see the boys and was not disappointed. They were as cute in person as on their Utubes. There sure was alot of hair on that stage with all the facial stubble and hair, Cute !

We were a little too cozy in the seating of the arena and I drove my husband crazy with all my getting up and down for standing ovations.

All in all it was a wonderful experience and I hope to see them again as soon as I can. I hope they take good care of themselves and don't overdo it.

First time I saw Il Volo was on PBS. After that concert on TV, I new that I had to see them live on stage. Living close to Casino Rama in Canada, I was very excited to find out that they would have a concert coming up in February of 2016. I could hardly wait for the day to see those very talented young men on stage.

Was I ever in awe to hear them live. There powerful voices are amazing, the singing flawless. They can be very serious, but at the same time funny and entertaining. The varietey of song choice couldn't have been better. I can't wait to attend the next concert.

They are very much in love with their home country, Italy. Speaking and jooking to the audience quite a lot in their own language was a bit frustrating to us english speaking fans because we didn't understand. Meanwhile the Italian fans laughed their head off.

Please let the rest of the world laugh too.

Had a wonderful time at the concert yesterday evening with my daughter. Felt I was in Italy with all the flag waving from their many excitable fans. Loved the humour between them all crazy crazy. Will be going again if they come back to England. The duet with Gianluca and Piero with My Way was a wow factor for me as was Memory sung by Ignazio and also the one and only Unchained Melody Bridge Over Troubled Water Il Mondo O Sole Mio and Life is Beautiful being one of my favourites. Seeing as my ancestral family is from Lucca I felt right at home with it all singing along with most of their songs. Fantastic evening. Love from Maureen & Louise Bradley xx

Love the boys, oops! Young men now. Been listening to them since they first started. Beautiful, extremely talented, personable. Their voices are heaven sent. If there is one thing I’d change it is the orchestra’s volume. It seems as if they are in competition with the guys instead of supporting them. At times you have to strain to hear the vocals above the instruments. Thank heavens the guys have strong enough voices to compensate. However, I don’t think they should have to. We go to their shows to hear them, not the orchestra. In all honesty, they could sing a cappella and be just as good.

I have seen Il Volo for the 3rd time, they sure have grown up, their personality has not changed in anyway, they are still very much down to earth young men. Their choice of music is great as well as their voices. When they sing in Italian & French, it brings me back to my youth, as I was born in Florence and grew up in Paris. There is no doubt their career has a great success within a short time. I am looking forward to see them again, hoping they will return to the US and maybe be able to talk to them. Il Volo was the most fantastic show I have ever seen. I have been to four of their concerts in 6 years and their voices keep getting better all the time. I saw them in D C two weeks ago and then again in Orlando this past week. The shows were slightly different. My husband had never been to one of their concerts and he said "the music penetrated my body...their voices are the best I ever heard."

I know all of the Italian words to their songs, yet do not understand what I am saying. I am an Il Volo fanatic!!!!

Saw Il Volo at the Royal Albert Hall in London this year 23rd May. It was an amazing evening with good seating to view their performances of old and new songs. Always a good atmosphere surrounded by lots of excited italians. This was my second show of seeing them and hope to again in 2018, having followed them since their beginning as teenagers. Their wonderful concerts not to be missed.

hello, my wife and I have not ever attended a live performance of ll Divo but it is her dream to see them live, she has terminal bone cancer and also mixed dementia and would love to see them whilst she is still fit enough to travel so when and if they ever come to England could you or someone let me know.

What a joy it was to hear these delightful and talented young artists! We have not had such an enjoyable and romantic evening in years. Our only complaint was the venue as we were not able to choose our seats which were deplorable, add to that the hard benches to sit on for two hours, did not help. Shame on you Ryman, you could do much better for these prices!

The concert was amazing from begining to end and the atmospgere was electrifying ! The show was fast moving without a dull moment and with one beautiful song after another eacg one leaving you breathless! I went with my 83 year old mum ( i am 53 years old) and she to was transported to Il Bel Canto sung by 3 angels! A concert not to be missed !

IL VOLO ANNOUNCES NORTH AMERICAN TOUR WITH PERFORMANCE AT THE FOX THEATRE MARCH 31, 2022

(DETROIT – November 5, 2021) – Today, superstar Italian trio IL VOLO releases their highly anticipated new album Il Volo Sings Morricone (Sony Masterworks), available everywhere now . Endorsed by Ennio Morricone’s family, Il Volo Sings Morricone is a dedication to the beloved Maestro and an exciting journey through the art and music of one of the greatest composers of the 20th century. In support of the new album, the trio will head out on the road once again on a 25-date North American tour, including a stop at the Fox Theatre on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. Additionally, the TV broadcast special, Il Volo: Tribute to Ennio Morricone, will make its premiere on PBS stations nationwide beginning November 27. Il Volo Sings Morricone is comprised of 14 songs that recall the Maestro’s legendary melodies from “The Ecstasy of Gold” (from The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly), featuring new lyrics written specifically for the trio by Ennio Morricone’s son, Andrea Morricone to “Your Love” (from Once Upon a Time in the West). Another highlight is “I colori dell’amore” (“The Colors of Love”), an unreleased track composed by Andrea for the trio, which was unexpectedly performed live for the first time at The Arena di Verona on June 5, 2021. Rounding out the album is “E più ti penso” ("The More I Think of You"), a medley of Ennio Morricone’s scores from the films Once Upon a Time in America and Malèna, a nod to the trio’s live performance of the song with the Maestro at Piazza del Popolo in Rome in 2011. It also features three artist collaborations: violinist David Garrett on “La Califfa” (“The Lady Caliph”), HAUSER from 2CELLOS on “Se” (“If”) and trumpet player Chris Botti on “Come Sail Away.”  

In celebration of their new album, Il Volo will also embark on a world tour, which kicks off in North America on March 4, 2022 in Canada and continues to the United States beginning March 11.  The 25-date North American tour will include stops at iconic venues like Radio City Music Hall in New York, Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco. 

On Il Volo Sings Morricone, audiences can expect to delight in the unforgettable melodies by the celebrated conductor, musician, and composer of some of the greatest film soundtracks in the history of international cinema together with the trio’s unique voices.

Case in point: Il Volo’s U.S. leg of their tour , originally scheduled for March 2022, is finally coming to North America this September and October .

The “popera” trio made up of Piero Barone, Gianluca Ginoble and Ignazio Boschetto announced the tour’s postponement back in February on Instagram .

Now that they’re back, the three will bring classic tunes with a modern twist to venues across the U.S., including Atlantic City’s Borgata Casino Event Center on Sept. 23, New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on Sept. 27 and Bethlehem’s Wind Creek Event Center on Sept. 29.

Italian operatic trio Il Volo will be heading back to North America in 2022 to support their brand new tribute album 'Il Volo Sings Morricone' . The 25-city journey takes place in March/April visiting major U.S. markets like New York, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Canadian dates are planned for Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto. Back in early 2020, the group launched a huge North American tour celebrating their 10th anniversary.

Il Volo released their Maestro Morricone tribute album 'Il Volo Sings Morricone' on November 5th, 2021 via Sony Classical. The new album follows up 2019's 'Musica' and 2016's live album 'Notte Magica' which contains many of the songs performed by The Three Tenors (Domingo, Pavarotti and Carreras) during their famous performance before the Italia '90 World Cup. The trio's self-titled debut album was certified Platinum in both Italy and Mexico and received Gold certifications in Austria, France, Netherlands, New Zealand and the U.S.

Alas, no vegas 🙁, ok, i’m sure most of you have seen the new dates and have already decided which concert/s you will be attending.  i waited a bit to post this as i had a few questions myself and i wanted to figure some things out before i posted it.  i should have looked at my regular email first  lol  oh well, but here you go, for the fan club – everyone is asking  yes, it’s simple and yet it’s complicated  i easily “renewed” yesterday from my phone and almost instantly received the receipt for the payment, etc.  however, likely due to my phone email controls, i never saw the email with the code come through, so i was waiting.  (i looked today and it was in my regular gmail account – very clear), here is link to sign up: il volo official fanclub › sign up (ilvolomusic.com), (when you get to the site, when i signed up, the english link was not working, it may be fixed by now, so i clicked on the spanish link and it worked), oddly, the activation code email comes from wordpress.  technically, you will get 3 emails.   one confirming your purchase with the invoice, one from paypal, if you do it that way, and the third is the one that has the activation code in it, from wordpress.  when i actually followed the instructions in the letter that comes with the activation code – it’s in all 3 languages (and finally got into the site) the code was already in there and i just had to click on it to activate it.  just fyi, you will actually be accessing the fan club site, not just the il volo music.com site.  i would suggest signing up on the site first – that is the trickiest part…  however, once you get through all of that, it’s very quick and easy, i did find some useful info on there, which i will print below.  stefania is one of the ladies that runs the fan club site and is answering some very important questions a few folks had…. they are posted below:, stefania castriota, you will receive your code on november 9th usually an hour to half an hour before on the main page of this site. there is a limit of four tickets per account on ticketmaster., (just to clarify here – you will not get an email with the concert activation code – it will be on the fan club site), stefania, this is very helpful. thanks so much. i do have one more question. when i joined the fan club originally, i signed up as m. however, i have seen comments that if you are lucky enough to be able to attend a sound check before the concert, you must show identification that matches your il volo profile exactly. unfortunately, all of my identification is with my first name as m. do i need to change/edit my profile to my more formal name, even though my billing info is m sorry if this is confusing i appreciate all of your help with everyone, hi, which pre-order page are you referring too you won’t be able to purchase tickets until november 9th which is when the pre-sale begins., hi no problem. as per your question, if i remember correctly, you’ll just have to edit your name on your profile at the time you sign up so it will match up to your il volo profile as well as your id if they ask for it., ok, i’m sure you will still have questions, etc.  we’ll do our best to answer.  i did ask on the fan site an idea of how much tickets will cost for vip packages, etc.  i’m anticipating $$$…, so, ladies, and gents, get your credit cards handy and ready for 10a est and your fingers oiled  🙂, if you don’t already have a ticketmaster account, they suggest getting one first, and being signed in ahead of time…. 🙂, buona fortuna a tutti  🙂, p.s.  talked to pat last night and she’s getting better, but it’s going to be a slow process – you may need to put up with me a while longer lol  😉, share this:, 109 thoughts on “2022 north american tour/fan club”.

Ok, let me answer all your questions here….

1. Yes, you can pay with your credit card, via PayPal. That’s what I did. It’s an option when you get to that part.

2. Yes, fan club members get to buy tickets starting on Tuesday, November 9th. Live Nation presale starts on Wednesday.

3. You need to purchase the membership in order to have access to the fan site, to get the pre-sale ticket code. That is different from the actual membership activation code.

If you look at ticketmaster, not all cities are listed. Some cities use their own theatres to sell the tickets. Unfortunately, the tour listing only lists the cities. SO, if the city you are planning to attend is not listed, you may want to do a search on your major area theaters to see if they are there.

Martha said san francisco will be at the Orpheus and presale info is direct on their site.

I know Rose also noticed this for the fort myers, fl concert as well.

Your activation code is only used to get you onto the fan club site. The code that the fan club will put on their site on 11/9 will be the code to use to buy your actual tickets with Ticketmaster. Don’t panic if the fan club is a little late on posting their code for Ticketmaster. For the 2020 concerts in America they were 1/2 hour late. Also, don’t buy tickets prior to 11/9 from some other company selling tickets. They are doubling their prices and ripping people off. Happens all the time.

Rose, if you find the theater in Ft. Myers, please let me know. I’ve checked Hertz Arena and BarbaraBMan and nothing is showing. Thank you.

The list on the Fan Club has the theatres. For Fort Meyers it says Suncoast Credit Union arena. Hope that helps!

For renewal membership, I would suggest just the digital. You don’t really need the actual card for anything. There is no number on it.

Yes, something similar happened to me a few years ago. I ended up buying 2 membership renewals, but they were really goid at refunding me the 2nd one. I would just order another one, save everything, and then tell them you had to do it twice and ask for refund.

thanks Jana. This information is really helpful. The fact that 2 of the venues I want to attend are not selling through Ticketmaster might be problematic. Fantasy Springs is not even listing the Il Volo concert on their schedule yet. Maybe by Tues they will list it. It would be hard to buy tickets to an event not even listed at the venue. The San Francisco venue is selling only the expensive VIP packages Tues and Wed. the more reasonably priced general admission tickets go on sale on 11/11 to the general public and not sure how good these remaining seats will be at that point. Guess we will see how this all works out.

At the prices they are likely charging, I bet there will be plenty of good seats left!! 😃

Something similar happened to me also, I just kept going back and forth and it finally worked. Do not worry, there is just one fan club, the language is just in Spanish but easy to figure out.

Also, very good advice from Susan Medal!! Be sure to purchase tickets from reputable site! It’s very easy to be lured away and you think you are buying legit seats at legit prices.

I clicked on our fox theater site and it listed the concert, but when you clicked on it, looking for tickets, it took you to another ticket site. Prices were crazy, like nearly $300 for mid section main floor.

So, be very cautious!!

$300 is nothing. In Toronto the main floor seats say $750!!!!!!!!! I can’t believe those are the prices. At least I am hoping they are not. Will see on the 9th. But if those are the prices I will have to forego the concert, let alone the M & G.

Before you buy tickets at Sunrise, I would wait for Tuesday, and see if Ticketmaster shows Fort Meyer. It definitely is on the list on the website.

FYI for anyone going to concert in Ft. Myers, I talked to them at the Suncoast Credit Union Arena and they aren’t selling tickets until next week. I asked her what day and she said she thought probably Friday but I would start looking around Tuesday. Hope this info helps a little bit for April the 8th concert.

That info is for the general public and is not the information for the fan pre-sale that starts tomorrow. You should be able to get them through ticketmaster tomorrow if you have the fan club code. Which is supposed to appear on the fan website tomorrow at 10 AM.

My fan club keeps telling me that I need to register but I have already done that but won’t let me into the fan club site. Hopefully maybe tomorrow. I sent them a notice of the problem so hope they remedy the problem. Fingers crossed.

For those of you who are having concert ticket issues and may not be able to attend, believe me the CD is the next best thing. Mine arrived 11/8 and it is truly beautiful and I think seals their place on the music map for all time as distinctive artists, which we already knew. It’s a slightly different sound for them, but no mistaking, it is Il Volo through and through-beautiful lyrics, melodies, instrumentation and delivery. I could ramble on but will shut up now.

I don’t think so! The Toronto Meridian Hall website was showing tickets on the orchestra level at around $750. But when I entered through the fan club site the tickets were MUCH less–half of that and more than half. Go though the presale and you will see the prices are much more reasonable.

Well, don’t understand with all the crazy prices, come to Detroit! They had vip pkgs for around $500, but they weren’t front row. We got front row for $200 and 2nd row for $175, seats only….

I don’t know if it is different here. I had a little trouble but not much. First the Fanclub refused to load. Then Ticketmaster said something I still don’t understand and refused to load also. Then by mistake I closed the page and had to go back and reload the fan club page. The second time, once I got back into the fan club page, ticketmaster loaded. I was second in line and only had to wait a minute or two to get in. Then I was able to view the tickets. But I have to say, the way they display what tickets are available is very confusing. All jumbled up–a list that goes from the orchestra to the balcony to the orchestra to the mezzanine with no order that I could see, and you had to scroll through all of it while looking at a seat map to see where those tickets were located. There has to be a better way of doing it!

Thanks Jana. You should go for FREE. I could fly to Detroit for $39. Go to the show for $200, and fly home for $39. Great time for $280. ! My CD comes today. I got my prices from the seating map as listed on TM. My tickets will come in a box at Christmas for sure . And they better be good!! I’m not having any fun since I passed the buck to #2 son. Does anyone know what’s going on at Fantasy Springs in Indio? They still don’t list Il Volo and on the fan club site it says ticket sales “ to be announced “ I tried calling them several times but was on hold for so long, had to hang up. Janet did you find anything out?

I have up on Fantasy Springs, and got tickets in San Antonio since I have to fly anyway. Rooms were hard to find in Indio too and really expensive.

I finally got through to the box office sales, and they don’t have tickets for fan club members, only for the general public which start Friday. That’s why Il Volo is not listed on their roster yet. I wish Ticketmaster would hurry up and put tickets on sale for us fans, although it looks like there are no rooms left in that hotel.

Well, I missed out again☹️First I was supposed to go to Vegas, but that was cancelled. Now, even if I could get tickets for Fantasy Springs, there are no vacancy’s in that hotel.I checked other hotels nearby and they want $500.00 a night!!!!!

I have set up my fan club account, have the activation code, have my Ticketmaster account, logged in there. It is Nov. 10, so should be able to access presale. But when I check on the date (4/17 for Phoenix concert), I can see no way to book tickets using presale MAEOSTRO22 code, or to book a VIP package. Just getting regular listing with regular prices. Anyone can help, please?

In order to get the presale, you have to go to the fan club page that lists the concerts, and click on the one you want. That brings you to the ticketmaster presale, where you enter the code and if you already have an account sign in. Don’t sign into ticketmaster independently from the fan club. If that is what you have been doing that is what the problem is.

I am unable to get M & G tickets this time, so I will be looking forward to everyone’s descriptions and experiences. The worst of it is being tongue tied. When you see them up close and personal everything you wanted to say just flies right out of your head!

I an the lady who wrote the story that Susan DiBartoli posted a few months ago about my husband (former professional baritone singer and a Gianluca clone) passing away in 2020, being unable to grieve for him for almost a year, then suddenly grieving completely and openly after hearing online recording of Gianluca singing “Mi Mancherai” in Rome. My life completely changed after that. I was able to let out my grief, to heal, and move on to develop an absolutely amazing new life.

I would like to be able to thank Gianluca for that, and hope I can stay composed enough to do so when I meet him.

After you sign in you are on a page that should be newsfeed. If it is not that page then click on newsfeed on the list on the left. The first white box says in small gold letters on the bottom “Discover all the dates”. Clcik on that. That will bring you to the tour dates. Scroll down until you get to the venue you want and click on that. You should get in!

Just now see that Ticketmaster “does not have tickets for this event” and they sent me to Etix, where I am reluctant to pay full price and perhaps not get tix from a 2nd tier provider! Anyone know if Ticketmaster will have tix for Phoenix available at a later date, or has anyone been able to book for that date yet?

Ft. Myers isn’t doing M/G. Had to find what was left over at Sunrise M/G. Although, it happens to be my birthday on the day at Sunrise. Igna gave me the most romantic 4 to 5 minutes that I will never forget last year at M/G. Peiro evan said I was a beautiful woman. Very special night they gave me. Jana, if we ever meet some day, I will tell you the whole story. Thanks for all your help. Fan club helped solve my problem with activation.

Wow, that must have been a special Birthday. Mine is on March 18th when they are in New York. Would have loved that on my Birthday ! unfortunately I live in NC and couldn’t get the tickets here this time around .Maybe someday I will meet them 🙂

In May 2009, three fresh-faced teenagers, Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble, appeared on the popular Italian talent show Ti Lascio Una Canzone and dazzled television viewers with their flawless rendition of the Neapolitan standard 'O Sole Mio'. Having successfully survived the rocky road from talent show sensations to respected artists, this trio of Italian pop-opera teenage singers return to the US in 2022 to celebrate over ten illustrious years together!

It wasn't long before Il Volo's managers; Michele Torpedine (who has looked after the careers of Andrea Bocelli and Italian rock star Zucchero) and world-renowned singer/producer Tony Renis who landed a worldwide recording contract for the trio with Universal Music Group which released Il Volo's self-titled debut album in Italy November 2010.

The album was a major success, paving the way for a record deal with Geffen in the US, the first time an Italian artist has signed with the label. There's been no resting on any laurels since then though - as 2022 sees the trio back in the US! Expect to hear some of the greatest hits from their repertoire, including 'My Way', 'Grande Amore' and of course, that performance of 'O Sole Mio!'
