Rent a Charter Bus for Your School Outing

The affordable and safe solution for any school trip.

When you're taking students, faculty and staff on a trip, there's an added level of concern and responsibility—you want to get everyone there and back with the least amount of hassle, and without unnecessary concerns about safety or accountability. Whether it's an athletic team competition, a prom or graduation after-party, a club or class excursion, or an arts or cultural offering, a charter bus lets you travel with comfort, convenience, safety and affordability.

Why a Charter Bus Makes Sense for Your School Trip

School Trips

There's no better option for a school outing than a charter bus rental from US Coachways:

  • It's the safest mode of group travel— With a charter bus, you'll have a highly trained professional at the wheel at all times. You won't have to worry about the driving skills of a number of parents or chaperones, and you won't have to worry about anyone getting lost. In addition, because of the limited access to the bus, you won't have unwanted guests—you and your students will be safe and secure.
  • You'll have unparalleled flexibility— There's no other mode of transportation that lets you decide when you'll leave, where you'll go, how long you'll stay and when you'll come back. If a game goes into overtime, you're covered—last-minute and real-time changes to your itinerary can often be accommodated. You can even book an entire trip with little advance notice.
  • You can count on a charter bus— You won't have to worry about getting there late and missing something. Delays and cancellations are virtually nonexistent with charter buses. Your driver has the resources to identify potential traffic problems and find alternate routes to get you there on time. Replacement vehicles are often quickly available, thanks to our extensive network of charter bus service providers nationwide.
  • You can relax— With most group trips, someone has to watch the GPS or keep an eye on the clock. Someone has to battle traffic, look for a parking space or get behind the wheel when the game's over. On a charter bus, your driver will handle all those details. You won't have to worry about missed connections or lost luggage. You'll be on the same coach for the entire trip and your gear will travel with you. You won't have to stand in a TSA security line, take off your shoes or empty your pockets. You can leave your phone on all the time—it won't interfere with navigational systems.
  • You can ride in comfort— If you travel on a mini-bus or full-sized charter bus, you'll have plush and spacious seats with plenty of leg room. You'll also enjoy wide aisles and the ability to move freely about the cabin.
  • You can use the bus for more than just travel— Use your travel time to prepare students, talk strategy, give last minute instructions or break the ice.
  • You can take advantage of the HOV (high occupancy vehicle) lanes— That helps you minimize time stuck in traffic.
  • Charter buses are a cost-effective way to travel— When you ride together, you share many of the costs of transportation. That routinely makes charter bus travel one of the most affordable options.
  • You'll help the environment— When you travel together on a charter bus, you reduce the number of private vehicles on the roads. That lowers emissions and helps the planet.

Frequently Asked Questions about Bus Rentals for School Trips

  • What is the best vehicle for our group?
  • That depends on a number of factors. At US Coachways, we'll look at the details of your trip—how many students and staff will be traveling, how long you'll be on the road, what you'll be bringing with you, and whether your participants have any special needs. Then we'll work with our nationwide network of vendors to find the ideal coach for your outing. If you're traveling with a small-to-mid-sized group, the mini-bus is a great option, with seating for 24 to 35. For larger groups, the full-sized bus accommodates up to 57 passengers. School buses are also available for rent, if you're looking for a more streamlined and affordable option. We'll also make certain there's ample room for anything you need to bring, from band instruments to sports equipment. Multiple bus rentals are always an option.
  • Will US Coachways provide SPAB or 19A-certified drivers?
  • Yes. US Coachways has relationships with vendors who carry School Pupil Activities Bus (SPAB) and Article 19-A certifications and will always ensure that the driver has all appropriate state driving qualifications.
  • Are seat belts required for school buses or travel?
  • The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) requires three point seat belts on all school buses weighing less than 10,000 pounds. Seat belt use for larger buses is regulated on a state-by-state basis. US Coachways will always follow all relevant laws governing the use of seat belts.
  • Who handles payment? Will US Coachways accept a purchase order?
  • Work directly with your booking agent to confirm who will take your payment and how it will be made. As a general rule, US Coachways takes purchase orders. Cash, checks and credit cards are also accepted.
  • How much will it cost to rent a charter bus for our school trip?
  • The total cost of a charter bus rental varies, based on a number of criteria:
  • How many people will be traveling—This dictates the size of your bus. As a general rule, the larger the bus, the greater the cost.
  • The amenities you'll need—Most charter buses come with certain standard features, including Wifi, DVD players, stereo and PA systems and charging stations for your devices. The school buses, however, typically don't have these options and are less expensive. For additional amenities, such as an on-board bathroom, you'll typically pay a bit more.
  • When and where you are traveling—The cost of a charter bus is typically more in the winter months in Florida than the summer months (there's greater demand). The opposite generally holds true in Northern climates. You will also typically pay more for a charter bus on Friday, Saturday and Sunday than other days of the week.
  • How long you will be gone—For day trips, you'll either pay by the mile or by the hour (expect a minimum charge—usually five hours). For day trips, the most common way to bill is by the day. If you stay anywhere overnight, you can expect to pay the cost of lodging for your driver.
  • Whether there are any tolls, parking fees, permit charges or other expenses—You will be responsible for all such costs.
  • To get a better idea of the potential cost, use our online Cost Calculator .

Inside a Charter Bus – What to Expect on Your Next Trip

Inside a Charter Bus - What to Expect on Your Next Trip

We know a lot of people think that the inside of a charter bus is just like any other vehicle. But regarding these coaches, there are some things that set them apart from other vehicles.

A charter bus rental can be a great way to travel in style and can be your home away from home. This is because coach buses interiors are more comfortable than other options, and are often less expensive per person than flying or driving your own vehicle.

And, the best part is that you can customize as per your needs, whether it is a school field trip or a team outing .

Now, maybe you’re convinced a bit and plan on taking a trip in a coach, but, you are still wondering what the inside of one looks like. Here are some things to know about what you’ll find inside a luxury coach:

While most people know what a restroom looks like, many don’t realize how useful a bathroom can be on a long road trip! Charter buses have restrooms, which means that you do not have to stop at rest stops along the way. This feature is especially important for those who have children because they do not have to worry about bathroom breaks.

Some bus rental companies do provide toiletries; still it’s best to bring your own toilet paper, hand soap and wet naps with you on the bus.

The bathroom is usually located at the back of the bus so that you can take a trip to the loo when nature calls.

Also, some companies even offer showers if you need to freshen up before going home after your long trip.

It is possible your phone has no signal or a very low signal when you are on the bus. In this case, it is not possible to use the internet or make calls with your mobile. A Wi-Fi hotspot is available onboard some charter buses, allowing passengers to stay connected during their trip.

While Wi-Fi is accessible in different areas of the bus, it may not be available throughout the entire trip. For example, if you’re traveling across the country, you may only have access to Wi-Fi while you’re at rest stops or waiting at a stop sign.

Power Outlets

Many charter buses include power outlets near seats so passengers can charge their phones and other devices while on the road. Some buses have outlets throughout the cabin, while others have only one or two at each seat.

Charter buses can have USB ports, but they tend to be few. You should be able to find one on the bus driver’s side dashboard, usually near the front of the bus.

If you are lucky enough to have access to a USB port, then you can charge your phone or tablet from it. This is useful if you want to use a navigation app like Google Maps or Waze while driving with your group.

Most charter buses have cabinets above each row of seats that allow passengers to store larger items like suitcases or backpacks.

They can also be used as an alternative to overhead luggage racks. These are usually found on regular commercial buses but not on chartered vehicles. Unless you specifically asked during your reservation process.

These cabinets are typically lockable so that only authorized passengers can access them.

Air conditioning/heating

Most luxury buses can be cooled or heated depending on the climate outside and the comfort level of your passengers.

So, you don’t have to worry about sweating profusely because of the heat or shivering uncontrollably because of the cold. It’s all taken care of by professionals at the rental company.

Food and drink

Depending on the length of your trip, you may be able to enjoy a meal on board or simply grab a drink. Many companies also offer snacks such as cookies and chips.

Most charter coaches have rows of seats facing each other or a center aisle. This allows passengers to sit at tables or in traditional theater seating arrangements depending on the type of trip.

Charter buses generally have capacity for at least 20 people, although the number varies based on the size of the bus. Seating generally consists of row seating, with each row having between three and six seats. Each seat may have its own armrests and legroom depending on the model of bus used for the charter.

Seats are often cushioned and adjustable so that everyone has a comfortable ride regardless of their size or needs

Seat cushions

The seat cushions on buses are usually designed to be very comfortable for passengers. They have higher backs than regular buses and are reclinable if necessary. They also have more padding than standard buses, which helps keep you warm during colder months or cool in warmer ones.

The seat cushions also include storage compartments under them. Here, you can store items such as snacks, beverages, books, or other personal items while you’re on your trip.

Cup Holders

Some buses have cups holders built into their seats, while others have them mounted onto the side of their seats or under their armrests.

Passengers can use these cup holders to hold their drinks during the ride without worrying about spilling anything on themselves or their belongings.

The flooring on a charter bus is made of carpet instead of hardwood or tile like in other vehicles. This makes it much more comfortable for passengers and removes noise when they walk around inside the vehicle.

Electronic Signage

Electronic signage is usually located at the front and back of buses. This allows drivers to communicate with passengers via audio and visual messages. This may include information about upcoming stops, delays, or detours, etc.

Night Vision Cameras

Some charters have cameras installed on the outside so that the driver can see even when it’s dark outside. This is useful when driving at night or in rural areas where streetlights are sparse or non-existent altogether!

Entertainment

Some luxury buses come with televisions and DVD players, allowing passengers to watch movies or listen to music. This can be especially helpful for children on long trips who might otherwise become bored or restless. We suggest you plan a movie time, as it’s fun for everyone, but be mindful of the age group you’re traveling with.

Sometimes, the buses even feature games such as trivia and card games for passengers of all ages to enjoy.

Reading Lights

Most buses have reading lights mounted above each seat, which passengers can turn on by turning the knob next to the light switch.

Some buses also have overhead lights which stay on during the entire trip. While others have a switch located near each seat so that passengers can turn them off.

Emergency Exits

The location and number of emergency exits varies by type of charter bus. But most have at least one exit per side besides an emergency exit through the roof hatch.

They are at the front and rear of buses for easy access in case of emergency. There are also two emergency exit hatches in the roof of your charter bus. These signs are clearly marked with red signs and have a door handle that is different than the others.

Charter buses have seat belts. The driver will make an announcement when you board that seat belts are required on all trips and will ask everyone to buckle up. Some states have it mandatory; for instance, it is required in California , so don’t forget!

Games (often not Included or optional)

If you have a good group of friends, you can bring some games to play with each other. This will help you pass time and make the experience even more enjoyable. You can bring board games or cards. You can also try out other games like Jenga or Uno .

All in all, the inside of a charter bus varies from company to company. In other words, you may encounter very different levels of luxury depending on which bus rental company you choose. That said, if luxury is one of your concerns, it’s probably worth asking about interior features when you call to get a quote . And if it doesn’t matter so much to you, then perhaps cost is the decision-maker here. Whatever it might be, always remember to discuss.

10 Key Benefits of School Field Trips Using Charter Buses

For most teachers, sending their students on a field trip is already routine in their educational process. Field trips help create stronger team spirit and enhance teacher-student relationships. It's incredibly important to organize everything in advance and choose the right means of school trip transportation.

Some factors to consider when choosing transportation are comfort, the convenience of travel, and most importantly, the safety of children. Hiring a charter bus for a field trip is a great choice, and throughout this article, our team at Infinity Transportation has outlined the main benefits of doing so. Let's get into them!

Common Benefits of Field Trips for Children

Engaging in a journey outside the school walls can be an enlightening experience for both educators and students. If you're a teacher pondering the organization of a school field trip, consider the myriad of benefits it brings:

Common Benefits of Field Trips for Children

Classroom and Real-World Connection

Embarking on field trips allows students to plunge into real-world learning and creates a vibrant bridge between the curriculum and the dynamic world around them. From exploring local groceries to marveling at community gardens, each excursion offers a fresh, real-life context to their classroom knowledge. As a result, field trips allow students to gain a deeper understanding and the ability to draw vital connections between their studies and real-world applications.

Accessing Learning Environments

When students step beyond their school’s boundaries, they embrace an opportunity to learn through distinctive environments and tools that aren't usually accessible within their usual learning spaces. Field trips enable them to experience ecosystems, utilize advanced tools, and explore historical artifacts first-hand. This enriches their learning experience and cements academic concepts in a way that conventional learning cannot.

Socio-Emotional Growth Journey

Field trips aren’t merely academic expeditions but journeys that sow seeds of empathy, tolerance, and critical thinking skills. For instance, visits to art museums not only immerse students in cultural aesthetics but also give them a space to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of diverse perspectives. Real-world field trips can help students appreciate expression and history in a new way.

Academic Impact

Don't overlook the tangible impact of field learning on academic proficiency, especially for middle school students. Did you know that active participation in field-based science trips can enhance state science test scores? These field trips offer students a vivid, tangible learning experience, presenting a unique way to comprehend and memorize academic concepts.

Engaging Multi-Modal Learning

Field trips provide a gateway to learning that appeals to the various senses and learning styles. This allows students who might find traditional methods challenging a new avenue through which they can explore, understand, and connect with the content. These holistic and immersive experiences help to boost comprehension and serve as a lasting academic and personal development reference throughout their educational journey.

What Are the Advantages of Hiring a Charter Bus Rental for a School Trip?

Ensuring smooth, safe, and stress-free educational trips, charter bus rentals offer many advantages for school outings, seamlessly combining convenience with exploration. Here are some specifics.

#1. Bus Trips Are Comfortable

Bus Trips Are Comfortable

Dealing with a large group of kids outside of a strict school environment can be overwhelming even for the most experienced teachers. And if your students are getting anxious because of the discomfort of a ride on a traditional school bus, the chaos is just about to grow exponentially.

Hiring modern coach buses for school trips completely negates this problem: you get soft and comfortable seats, enough space for everyone, and fun and beautiful views in the windows. Now you have another task at hand: to keep your students entertained. You can try to prepare some group activities to keep the fun going but in most cases, kids will take care of that themselves.

#2. Charter Buses Are Reliable

When it comes to transportation, many unpleasant surprises can delay your arrival or even ruin the whole trip. And of course, the safety of kids is the number one priority. Always consider hiring a professional bus company for field trips, as this will minimize the risk of accidents of any kind.

Charter bus drivers are certified professionals, so the safety and overall quality of the bus trip are guaranteed. Drivers come prepared for their job, and they're perfectly aware of the route they'll take and the current situation on the road.

#3. There's Better Hygiene on a Bus

Let's be honest: one kid can produce a mess, and a whole class of them can create a disaster. This is why professional charter bus companies regularly clean and disinfect their buses. There's no risk to the passengers' health, especially to the children.

Let's address the elephant in the room: COVID-19 made cleaning regulations stricter than ever before. Charter bus companies go the extra mile in their disinfecting efforts, so you can rest assured that the bus you're about to be driven in is perfectly clean and safe for the kids.

#4. Students Enjoy Bus Trips

The overall atmosphere of a school field trip is magical: no school walls, no classes, just an informal environment, and fun times with your classmates. And having a charter bus for a school trip will only add to this: there's plenty of time for kids to have a lot of fun on the way there and back.

A smooth ride and great views will make this trip an event to remember. And even if the kids find the theme of a field trip somewhat boring, getting out of the school routine is a pleasant change.

#5. Traveling by Charter Bus Rental Is Convenient

First of all, the logistics aspect of any group travel is complicated as it is. Most events are run on a tight schedule: gather the kids, arrive, attend, and get the group back safely. School field trips are vitally important to plan carefully , as it's a big stress for teachers to make sure everything is on schedule and no one gets left behind.

Hiring school buses for field trips allows everyone to arrive at the place simultaneously. All the teacher has to do is headcount everyone before the bus departs. So, needless to say, this is the optimal way to keep every trip on schedule.

#6. There Are Modern Amenities Included

Pretty much all modern charter buses nowadays come with a set of amenities. An AC system for hot summer days (make sure that no one gets cold if the AC works too intensely), reclining seats to take a nap, and outlets for electronics.

And the most important one: a modern charter bus for school trips has a toilet built-in. It's incredibly frustrating to get motion sickness, but it's even more so for kids. There won't be a need to make an emergency stop if your bus has a toilet.

#7. Plenty of Space for Backpacks and Luggage

Plenty of Space for Backpacks and Luggage

No one likes having their backpack or luggage shoved at their knees during a long journey for a field trip. Charter bus rentals have a very large storage section that is ideal for bags and luggage, as well as snacks, water bottles, and any other school field trip essentials.

#8. Overnight Trips Available

Some school field trips are far enough away that an overnight component is needed. Rest assured, most charter bus rental companies offer overnight stay options to ensure students won't get stranded. There are strict regulations for how long drivers can drive the bus rentals, and all rules will be followed.

#9. Charter Buses Are Cost-Effective and Green

Packing a large number of students on one bus means reducing your carbon footprint substantially, as it's one bus for an entire trip, rather than a large number of separate cars. Group travel, from carpools to buses, has always been a great way to be green, and using the perfect charter bus is no exception.

#10. Charter Bus Field Trips Are Easier to Coordinate

A comfortable journey starts with a comfortable departure, and that means having an easy-to-coordinate option for trips. Unlike using multiple cars and drivers, it's much easier to rely on a charter bus for coordination. Every child is in one place, and there will be significantly less miscommunication.

How to Plan a Successful Field Trip

Embarking on a field trip, especially one that's culturally enriching, requires a blend of thorough planning and student engagement to ensure a memorable and educational journey.

  • Exploring local wonders: Explore the vicinity of your school to uncover potential day trips that promise rich and immersive experiences, such as an outing to an art museum or a historical site. This could significantly impact students' learning and perspective.
  • Pre-trip research and planning: Conduct comprehensive research and if possible, visit the site before the school tour to ascertain its educational value and suitability for your class. Ensure that the trip aligns with your learning objectives and offers a conducive environment for interactive learning.
  • Adherence to school guidelines: Ensure all activities and plans align with your school administrators’ policies and protocols. Get the necessary forms and clearly articulate how the field trip aligns with and enhances the school's curriculum.
  • Student participation in planning: Involve students in the pre-trip preparation and discuss the objectives and potential learning outcomes. Consider allowing them to have a say in the destination choice to enhance their investment and enthusiasm for the trip.
  • Relevance to curriculum: Choose destinations that complement current classroom instruction. If the curriculum revolves around a specific historical period, select a trip that offers insight and tangible experiences related to that era.
  • Integrating technology: Leverage technology to augment the field trip experience and encourage students to utilize apps and blogs to engage with and reflect upon their experiences during and after the trip.
  • Sensory and interactive experiences: Choose venues that aren't just visually stimulating but also offer a multi-sensory and interactive experience to ensure that students aren't merely observers but active participants.
  • Facilitating affordability: Engage parents and the PTA, and even explore field trip grants from companies to fundraise and ensure that all students can partake in the experience without financial hindrance.
  • Post-trip engagement: Encourage students to articulate and reflect upon their experiences through assignments, ensuring the trip has a lasting educational impact and helps students synthesize their learning.
  • Navigating transportation with a charter bus: Choosing a reputable charter bus company that adheres to your school’s budget and safety protocols can streamline the logistical aspects of the journey. Coordination on routes, timelines, and specific requirements can maximize the trip's efficacy and provide a hassle-free and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Tips for Renting a Charter Bus for School Field Trips

When you’re traveling with kids, you have to make sure you’ve got all your ducks in a row. From gathering permission slips and organizing lunches to recruiting chaperones and corralling everyone onto a bus– it can be stressful. That’s why having a thorough game plan is always needed when traveling with minors.

Shofur can help you organize a big part of your game plan — the transportation! Whether you’re traveling with a school group or a summer camp, a charter bus can make your trip a little easier. A Shofur rental expert will help you pick the type of charter bus you’ll need for your trip. We’ve also compiled a list of handy charter bus transportation tips to keep in mind when you have kids in tow.

1.   Explore your bus options

A school bus is a standard, easy way for students and campers to travel. These buses can usually be reserved quickly and can be efficient for short trips. However, they can quickly become uncomfortable for long-distance trips or outings in major metro areas with hours of traffic. Having your camp troop stuck on a hot bus in Atlanta traffic doesn’t sound fun. Neither does keeping dozens of middle school students entertained while traveling between New York City and Philadelphia during rush hour. Instead, book a modern motorcoach for your longer trips to keep kids entertained and more comfortable throughout the ride.

Shofur has access to a wide range of charter bus models for groups of all sizes. Choosing the best type of charter bus for your group of kids will usually be determined by your group size. We recommend a minibus for groups of 25 or fewer people, while charter buses are best for larger groups. When choosing your model of bus, keep in mind that minibuses have fewer storage options and don’t have onboard restrooms. A full-size charter bus may be a better choice if you’re traveling long distances and have little ones who may need a bathroom break mid-trip.

2.   Consider safety and mobility needs

School buses are a reliable way to travel, but charter buses can offer both comfort and safety. Charter buses rented through Shofur include features to ensure every passenger has a safe ride that exceeds all DOT regulations. However, like school buses, some models of charter buses don’t include safety belts. That said, if you’re traveling with children and safety belts are a must-have on your list of features, let your reservation expert know at the time of booking.

We can also reserve ADA-accessible charter buses to securely help passengers board who can’t transfer from mobility devices. The ADA-accessible buses in our network may also come equipped with hand railings and wider aisles so everyone can have a safe yet comfortable travel experience.

3.   Request amenities for easier travel

Charter bus rentals can come with a variety of amenities that make traveling with kids a little less stressful. You can request entertainment options like WiFi and TVs with DVD players to keep kids busy and to avoid the dreaded “we’re bored!” Put on a movie to entertain young kids, or allow older kids to stream their favorite media on their mobile devices. If you want to engage in educational activities while on your bus, students can bring assignments onboard or complete online work with the bus’s WiFi and power outlets.

4.   Ask about your driver

All of the drivers in Shofur’s network are professional, have completed a thorough background check, and have cleared drug screening. (Though you may want to request a driver with experience transporting children if you have a very large and rambunctious group.) We can also do our best to find you a driver with special certifications or clearances required by your local government, school board, or youth organization.

5.   Look at long-term transportation options

Need recurring charter bus service for your school’s athletic games or weekly volunteer events? Our long-term shuttle experts are available at 1-844-881-3612 and can draw up a contract to meet your exact travel needs. Setting up a long-term contract is easier than booking separate trips every time you need a charter bus. A recurring service can vary depending on your needs and Shofur is happy to get you a charter bus once a week, once a month, or even once a day.

6.   Think about your travel dates and destinations

Charter bus availability fluctuates depending on when and where you plan to travel. Spring and summer are the busy seasons for groups traveling with kids, and this can cause charter bus availability to dwindle and prices to rise. Major cities like Los Angeles , Orlando , and Washington, DC are also more likely to see shortages in availability due to their popularity. You’ll want to be on top of securing field trip transportation during these busy times around major cities. Start your booking process at least six months in advance to ensure you get the best type of bus for your field trip.

7.   Organize payment well ahead of time

Although standard payment with a credit card is quick and easy, we understand that reserving services with purchase orders, contracts, or additional documentation is sometimes necessary. Shofur can work with your school or youth organization’s payment process with prior notice. Be sure you notify your reservation expert that you may need to provide alternative forms of payment through your school district or organization. Processing these payments can take additional time, so be sure to plan your field trip or kid-friendly outing as far in advance as possible.

8.   Strategically seat your chaperones

You’ll need to have a headcount for your kids and chaperones before you book your bus. Once everyone is accounted for, you’ll probably want to assign 1 chaperone to each group of 10-12 children (or any other ratio you see fit). As everyone boards the bus, seat chaperones with their respective group of kids. With chaperones spread evenly throughout the bus, you’ll be able to supervise each kid and make sure they’re having a safe and enjoyable trip.

9.   Pack a carry-on

Whether you have students bring their own bag or have a chaperone keep track of the personal items, you’ll want to have all the essentials inside your charter bus’s cabin. This can include snacks and drinks, games, electronic devices with chargers, and educational materials like workbooks. If permission slips indicate that a student requires special accommodations like medication, be sure these are easily accessible within the bus’s cabin too. Reserve luggage bays under the bus for large items that you won’t need to access during the drive.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do i pay for my charter bus rental is the full cost due at booking.

Once you’ve found the perfect bus for your trip and accepted a quote, you will be directed to a payment page to confirm your reservation. At that time, a deposit of 10% will be due to secure your booking. The confirmation screen will also show the date by which the remainder of the payment is due. We require a valid credit card to be on file to secure a reservation.

How can I make a reservation for a charter bus on CharterUP’s marketplace?

Simply input your travel details and our platform will generate real-time pricing and availability from our network of hundreds of bus operators across the U.S. From there, you can compare vehicles, prices, operator reviews, on-time performance, safety records, and amenities all in one place. Why GOGO Charters?

At GOGO Charters we don’t discriminate. We cater to all groups without sacrificing on space or comfort. The bus rentals we offer can accommodate groups as large as 56 with a full-sized charter bus rental or as small as 18 with a minibus rental , providing each party with a memorable yet intimate travel experience. In the past, we’ve assisted with the following trips:

  • Field trips for K-12 classes
  • Off-site faculty meetings
  • Greek events
  • College tours
  • University-led research gatherings
  • Marches, protests and non-profit events
  • Sports travel for school or college teams

These trips all had the following things in common: our unquestionable dedication to customer service, a spacious bus rental with customized amenities and a trained driver who completed the trip with the utmost professionalism. Our 24/7 transportation service makes it possible for groups to book trips at whatever time they please, allowing them to adhere to their own schedule with the assistance of our friendly reservation specialists. In addition, all bus rentals in our network are up-to-date on all modern safety standards. Simply contact us at 1-855-826-6770 to learn more about the availability of certain bus rentals in your city or to calculate your trip quote for free!

Improved Field Trip Experiences

Avoid traveling in a traditional school bus for your next field trip, and focus instead on renting a charter bus for a climate-controlled and comfortable journey. A charter bus rental will allow you to add amenities such as cushy reclining seats for quick naps, free WiFi for on-the-go assignments, flat screen TVs and AV entertainment for educational videos, PA systems for announcements or headcounts, restrooms for quick access, and more. The journey will be less excruciating and more exciting with your students, staff, and mentors onboard.

Easy Off-site Faculty Meetings

GOGO Charters is happy to provide off-campus bus transportation in the event your staff wants to get away from the usual meeting rooms. By renting a charter bus, you’ll ensure that everyone sticks together and arrives on time without being held up by traffic or other unforeseen circumstances. It’s also important to note that mingling on a charter bus is a great way to break the ice before the meeting starts!

Streamline Transportation to Greek Events

If you’re part of a fraternity or sorority that arranges parties or off-campus events from time to time, it’s essential to book a bus rental to ensure that all members travel together and arrive at the event promptly before the general public. You can even utilize the luggage bins on your bus rental for party supplies, food, and drinks so that multiple trips aren’t required to transport these goods. On the occasion that there’s alcohol served at these events, instead of looking for a designated driver, you can rely on your charter bus driver to get your members safely back to campus.

Tour Colleges On Your Own Time

Our far-reaching transportation network allows us to provide bus rentals to any college campus in the United States, including cities like New York City , Los Angeles , Atlanta , or Washington DC . Instead of relying on unpredictable public transportation, your group will be able to visit any metropolitan college campus or small college town in the United States with GOGO Charters. Your driver will make sure to drop you off right where the tour begins so you can focus on enjoying your time on campus.

Travel Off-campus for Research Gatherings

Conducting an important research study with your classmates? Instead of traveling in individual cars to the archaeological site, forest, lake, or laboratory, opt for a bus rental instead to keep everyone in one place, under one roof. If your study involves traveling with extensive equipment, books, and papers, you can utilize the luggage cabins onboard for safe keeping. The free WiFi on the bus will also prove to be helpful when you need access to the internet for last-minute research needs or to take group selfies to commemorate the occasion!

Organize Transportation for Marches, Protests and Non-profit Events

GOGO Charters is proud to provide transportation to historical marches and events that rally for important causes. If your school or university is participating in events such as Pride, Womens March, or Black Lives Matter (to name a few), we can pair you with the appropriate charter bus rental for the occasion. Since traffic and overcrowding is usually an issue during these events, traveling in a bus rental is the best way to get to your destination on time without hunting for multiple parking spots for your group. In addition, you can store all your march merchandise (poster boards, flags, banners etc.) on your bus rental or use the compact restroom to freshen up your appearance after a day of passionate activism.

Sports Travel for Schools and Colleges

Have an upcoming sporting event at your school or university? Streamline travel to all away games, intramural sports or physically intensive competitions with a bus rental from GOGO Charters. All athletes will be able to kick back and relax in the climate-controlled bus cabins or can listen to game-day music or anthems over the loudspeakers in the bus rental. The large luggage bins will also provide enough space to store sports equipment, duffle bags and coolers for the game. Moreover, traveling in a bus will ensure a memorable bonding experience for your team without sacrificing on space and comfort.

Travel Anywhere with GOGO Charters

Since we provide 24/7 private bus transportation to over 300 cities nationwide , there are endless opportunities for you to arrange educational trips with GOGO Charters. Whether your plans take you to career fairs, spelling bees, chess club tournaments or even proms, we have the right bus rental for any occasion . In addition to customizing your onboard amenities, your reservation specialist can even help you book an ADA-accessible bus so that everyone on board is able to enjoy the off-campus event without any limitations. Best Reasons To Use Charter Buses for School Field Trips

Best Reasons To Use Charter Buses for School Field Trips

Some of the best memories of anyone’s youth are the school field trips. While they may not be as adventurous as some television shows or movies illustrate, they still have plenty of highlights that can last a lifetime. The first step to having a wonderful field trip is finding the best transportation. Knowing the best reasons to use charter buses for school field trips helps you understand why that’s your best bet.

No Reliability Concerns

When planning a field trip, the student’s safety is of utmost importance. That’s why using a reliable charter bus company will reduce the chances of any mishaps that could occur with other transportation methods. With professional drivers guiding the way, you can assure that everyone will get to the destination safely.

Charter bus drivers arrive at work prepared, have a thorough understanding of the route they will take, and know the present condition on the road. Additionally, you know their fleet is well-maintained , making them the most dependable option.

Sit Back & Relax

Even the most seasoned instructors find dealing with a big group of children difficult when outside of a controlled school atmosphere. If your youngsters sense your frustration, there could be turmoil. Hiring modern coach buses for school outings eliminates this issue: you get plush seats, an abundance of room, and lovely views through the windows.

Ideally, the only concern you’ll have is engaging your students along the way. Several group activities keep the party going. However, if everyone is calm, it’s best not to poke the bear.

Most Convenient Way To Travel

Meticulously planning group field trips can be as daunting as the activities themselves. It’s extremely stressful for instructors to ensure that everything runs smoothly and everyone has a pleasant experience.

Charter buses enable teachers, students, and parental volunteers to arrive at the same time. It’s much more convenient to gather everyone in one vehicle when accounting for everyone. This is the best approach to keep every journey on time.

Kids Enjoy Them

A school field trip has a fantastic vibe: no school buildings, no courses, just a relaxed atmosphere and pleasant moments with your classmates. Getting a decked-out charter bus adds to the experience. WiFi, air conditioning, and reclinable seats will make any student feel like they are living in the lap of luxury instead of a traditional school bus.

Knowing the best reasons to use charter buses for school field trips aids you in making the correct decision. Even if the content of the field trip seems uninteresting to the children, stepping out of the school routine is a welcome break. They will remember this journey for its effortless ride and spectacular scenery.

Inside a Charter Bus: 7 Facts to Know About Charter Buses

inside a charter bus

Group transportation can cost a pretty penny! But, it doesn’t have to.

Taking a charter bus reduces these costs significantly. Charter buses make it possible for everyone to attend-especially folks who can’t afford other modes of transportation.

Charter buses promote team building through connection. Everyone is nicely nestled and comfortable in the same large space. A common shared space and beautiful destination bonds people and provides them with memories lasting a lifetime.

We all want everyone to have a great time on a trip. We want everyone to feel comfortable and at ease. Without the stress of financing the trip, charter buses make this possible.

But, what if you’ve never been inside a charter bus?

Read on to learn exactly what to expect from a charter bus experience and what’s inside one.

Charter buses are a safe way to travel. It’s always good to know as much as possible, however, before you say, “Bon voyage!” Explore the following facts about charter buses to put your mind at ease.

1. There is a Bathroom

First and foremost, there is a bathroom on board! Charter buses all come equipped with a bathroom facility including a sink.

You’ll likely be traveling for hours at a time so it’s good to know that you won’t have to hold it. Bus drivers and group leaders, however, do plan regular bathroom breaks.

While the bathroom is available to you, it only gets emptied at the end of each trip. Keep this in mind when deciding whether or not to use the facility. Since you’ll be traveling with other passengers, it’s best to keep things as fresh as possible.

In any case, don’t hesitate to use the restroom as needed and especially in emergency situations. That’s what it’s there for!

Bathrooms are usually at the back of the bus. So, plan your seating accordingly if you want to be near the restroom.

2. Packing and Storage

All bags will be stored underneath the bus for the duration of the trip. When packing your main suitcase aim to pack as lightly as possible. A small to medium-sized suitcase should do the trick!

If there are items you wish to have with you on board, pack a small separate bag. This bag needs to be able to fit in your lap or underneath your seat. In some cases, overhead storage is available but ask in advance to avoid overpacking.

Your trip won’t be comfortable if your bag is too hefty to sit nicely on your lap. To avoid overpacking a carryon, only carry with you items that are absolutely essential.

3. Safety First

Buses are a safe mode of transportation. But, it’s important also follow safety precautions.

Always listen to the directions of the bus driver. They know their buses better than anyone and they want to keep everyone safe.

As a rule of thumb, remain seated while the bus is in motion. If you need to use the restroom or get up, try to find a low-traffic time to do so. Traffic causes abrupt stops and this could cause you to fall or lose your footing.

If you did fall, you could also be putting others’ safety at risk. It’s possible that you could accidentally fall or collide with someone unexpectedly.

When in doubt, remain seated. Always listen to the bus driver and you’ll do just fine!

4. Listen to Leaders

It’s important to listen to your leader’s instructions. Leaders will be speaking directly with the bus driver frequently. So, when the leader instructs you to do something, understand that the bus driver could be the source of this communication.

Listen to leaders when determining when to return to the bus. Charter buses make regular stops and it’s important to be on time when returning. If you’re late because of a miscommunication, then the whole bus tour is delayed.

Leaders will also inform you where to return to the bus. The dropoff location isn’t always the same as the pickup location. If you need to, write this information down in your phone or double check with the leader as you exit the bus.

It’s also a great idea to take a picture of the bus and the bus number. In tourist locations, it’s possible that your bus will look similar to other charter buses. Knowing the number can help you to easily find your charter bus on time.

It’s better to ask questions and get clarity than be late and/or lost.

5. Entertainment

Most charter buses are equipped with a TV and a DVD player. Bus drivers likely won’t have a DVD for everyone to watch but do welcome passengers bringing their own.

Keep in mind that individuals in the group have a variety of tastes. When selecting a movie to bring, choose wholesome, family-oriented entertainment. While you may love horror films, some of the passengers may find this offensive.

Another factor to keep in mind is the age appropriateness of the film. There may be young passengers on board, so aim for a G-rated or PG movie. Films like Inside Out , Ice Age, and High School Musical are great options.

If you prefer watching TV shows or a movie on your own device, make sure that it’s suitable for others to see, too. Folks can easily see your device’s screen so keeping it G-rated on your device is also necessary. If you decide to take this route, make sure you have headphones so you don’t disturb other passengers.

Bring along snacks with you that are easy to clean up . Messy snacks easily translate to a messy charter bus. While it’s tempting to snack on a leftover burrito, without a plate this could get too messy!

7. Clean Up

Trash cans are located at the front of every charter bus near the bus driver. Throw away any trash as you exit the bus.

Take all of your items with you when your bus tour is over. Double check your seating area for any trash or items you may have left.

As you exit the bus, also make sure to say “thank you” to your best driver for an amazing and safe charter bus tour!

Are you in search of the safest and most reliable transportation for your upcoming group trip or events? Whether it’s transporting guests for a wedding, a sports team event, or a concert, a charter bus stands out as the optimal and dependable choice.

Charter bus rentals offer so many conveniences for different functions. Such as at weddings or special events, managing late arrivals and handling logistics can be challenging. This is where charter bus rentals become invaluable. Renting a charter bus makes it easy to handle your guests, eliminating concern about arrival.

However, a common question that arises when planning to hire a charter bus is, “How many seats are there on a charter bus ?” It’s crucial to consider this, as choosing a bus with less seating capacity than the total number of your guests can lead to discomfort for them while renting one with excess capacity can be a waste of money. What is a Charter Bus?

Wine and Brewery Tours Charter Bus Seating Capacity: A Comprehensive Guide

A charter bus, often referred to as a motorcoach, is a large, specialized vehicle reserved for private use by organizations, specific groups, or businesses to transport a group of people to a particular destination. Unlike regular buses that adhere to predetermined routes, a charter bus is exclusively hired for a specific group, providing a more personalized and direct transportation solution.

Since as early as 3000 B.C.E., coach buses have been utilized for transportation. However, during those times, they were exclusively accessible to high-profile individuals and only practical in areas where the roads maintained a sufficient level of quality. It was only in the 20th century that coach buses, resembling the ones we are familiar with today, began to emerge. This period marked the transition from horse-drawn carriages to motor vehicles, making buses available to a broader demographic, including schoolchildren, workers, and tourists, rather than catering to the rich society.

Nowadays, charter buses have become the most common group transportation, providing groups with the flexibility to organize their own tours and travel directly to their desired destinations. Many organizations rely on charter buses for their group travel needs due to the convenience, cost efficiency, and safety they provide. These buses are also incredibly convenient and efficient for group transportation during weddings and other events.

Understanding Charter Bus Types and Capacities

  • Beach trips: Are you organizing an upcoming family reunion or hosting a large group of friends on the beach? Make your summer day trip vacation even better and reduce your stress by using a charter bus. Simply sit back and enjoy the view on your way to your desired destination.

Benefits of Chartering a Bus for Your Group Travel

Charter buses are for everyone, including children, adults and those who use wheelchairs. This means your entire group will be able to relax and enjoy the ride together. Here are the other top benefits of renting a charter bus for your next group outing:

  • Affordable: Paying for gas in separate cars and buying plane tickets can get very expensive. Renting a charter bus is often very affordable for groups because you get to skip the toll and parking fees as well.
  • Safe: Experienced, trusted charter bus services make safety a top priority. This means they will have safety procedures in place for road failure situations. Charter bus companies are also diligent about maintaining vehicle inspections and operational requirements.
  • Spacious: Riding in a charter bus is much more comfortable than a cramped car or plane. With reclining seats, you and your guests can stretch out without bothering other riders. There is also plenty of storage throughout the bus for personal items, luggage and equipment.
  • Efficient: Coordinating separate transportation plans for a large group can be quite time-consuming and frustrating. When you use a charter bus, you don’t need to communicate meeting places and keep track of everyone. Your entire group will pile on the bus and be ready to go in no time.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’ve never used a charter bus for your trip or event, you may want to know some essential details. Here are some of the most common questions people have when researching a charter bus service.

1. How Much Does a Charter Bus Service Cost?

school trip inside charter bus

The cost of a charter bus service will depend on several factors, including:

  • The size of the bus you need.
  • The duration of your trip.
  • The mileage to and from your destination.
  • The day of the week your trip falls on.

For example, if you’re looking up how much to rent a charter bus for a day, you’ll likely see different prices than if you need it for an entire week. Likewise, taking a trip on a Saturday will be more expensive than taking a trip during the week. As a rough estimate, you can expect to spend somewhere around $1,200 and up, depending on the factors mentioned above.

2. How Many Seats Are on a Charter Bus?

Charter bus seating capacity will vary for each company. For instance, the standard manufacturer and model may offer around 36 seats. However, smaller charter buses and mini-buses generally do not come with the comfort, safety standards and amenities you would find on a spacious motorcoach.

With a luxury coach service like Executive Coach, you can choose from a 40-passenger charter bus or a 56-passenger luxury coach. Even if your group is slightly smaller than 40 people, going with a charter bus means they get to enjoy even more comfort and space.

3. What Amenities Should a Charter Bus Have?

Inside a charter bus, you can expect many perks and extra comforts for you and your guests to enjoy, including the following:

  • Individual climate control
  • Cushioned, reclining seats
  • Captain-style seats with comfortable headrests and footrests
  • On-board restrooms
  • Media and radio systems
  • Smoke-free and alcohol-free environment
  • Fully cleaned and sanitized space for each charter
  • GPS systems
  • Overhead storage areas
  • Oversized luggage bays
  • Electrical outlets — if requested
  • Overhead PA system
  • Professional, friendly and knowledgeable drivers

4. How Far in Advance Should You Book a Charter Bus?

The further in advance you can book your trip, the better. Booking at the last minute for a large group of people will not guarantee that there will be any buses available for the dates and duration that you need them. Planning transportation well ahead of time can reduce any stress of last-minute scheduling and also gives you the opportunity to communicate with your group.

5. Are Charter Bus Rentals Refundable if Canceled?

In some cases, yes, but it depends on which charter bus company you use. Executive Coach, for example, will refund your bus rental if you cancel within at least 30 days of your trip.

6. How Do You Rent a Bus for a Trip?

The charter bus rental process is relatively simple. How you rent a bus for a trip depends on the following factors:

  • Your destination
  • The number of passengers
  • The date(s) of travel
  • Departure and return time
  • Additional stops
  • How far in advance you book your trip
  • Any special requests or accommodations you may have

Once you’ve organized all the necessary factors above, you can request a quote from the charter bus company. Be sure to include any required facilities you need, such as a wheelchair lift.

Filling out the quote form only takes a few minutes and makes it easy for you to see if the company can accommodate your event. Once you receive your quote for the trip, you’ll need to put down a deposit on your charter bus or buses. Charter bus companies usually offer different deposit percentages based on the total of your trip. At Executive Coach, we only charge a $100 deposit per day of travel to reserve your coach. You won’t need to pay the remainder of the payment until 14 days prior to your departure.

When you pay your deposit, you’re all set for your trip. Be sure to communicate the details of the trip with your group, including designated pickup and dropoff locations and departure times. This will ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Live reporting by Tim Baker and Brad Young

Cabinet ministers are leaving Number 10 after their first meeting.

There were smiles as they walked across Downing Street through different exits, some being picked up in cars.

Sir Keir Starmer is expected to hold a news conference soon, where he will answer questions from journalists.

Earlier, we reported that the result in Inverness, Skye and Ross-shire was a win for Liberal Democrats.

However, we now understand the information that the count had finished was incorrect, and the result is still being calculated.

The Liberal Democrats have already claimed victory in the contest, which is undergoing its second recount.

It has been reported elsewhere that the incumbent SNP candidate has conceded - so it seems very likely it will become the 72nd Lib Dem seat.

We'll let you know when we have the final result.

Boris Johnson has said Nigel Farage played a "significant" role in the "destruction" of the Tories - while taking a swipe at those who ousted him from No 10 two years ago.

The Conservatives endured a crushing defeat in the election with numerous big name casualties, as Labour secured a landslide victory.

Reform UK has secured five seats in the Commons, including one for its leader Mr Farage, who was elected in Clacton, Essex, on his eighth attempt at becoming an MP.

Mr Johnson, the former prime minister, dissected his party's performance in his Daily Mail column, saying the reasons why the Tories lost so many MPs were "complex" - but "the Yucatan asteroid in this catastrophe was obvious: it was Reform".

From the cost of living crisis and small boat crossings to the drive for green energy and the war in Ukraine, the Labour government has its work cut out.

To get a sense of the challenges facing Sir Keir Starmer, we spoke to our specialist correspondents about their patches.

By  Ashish Joshi , h ealth correspondent

There's a very good reason Wes Streeting has been so prominent during Labour's election campaign. The NHS is in a pretty bad way. And Labour say they will fix it.

The last time NHS waiting lists were manageable was under a Labour government. But the challenges are far greater this time. The biggest difference is the pandemic and the impact it's had on the nation's health and health service. The workforce is depleted and exhausted.

And yet that same workforce will be asked to deliver an extra 40,000 appointments a week. Nobody, Labour assure us, will be forced to take on the extra work. Extra doctors, nurses and trained clinical staff can't be magicked out of thin air.

New Health Secretary Mr Streeting said the first thing he will do is to call union leaders for talks to resolve the ongoing junior doctors' strikes. They will not suddenly drop their demands for pay restoration, but at least a change of administration might offer a fresh perspective to move forward.

Satisfaction with the NHS and social care is at its lowest level in 40 years. For Labour, that's a good place to start as even small gains will see the needle move in the right direction.

Sir Keir Starmer and his government have been photographed sitting around the cabinet table for the first time.

Speaking to his top team of ministers, the new prime minister said: "Colleagues, it is absolutely fantastic to welcome you to the cabinet, our first meeting.

"And it was the honour and privilege of my life to be invited by the King, His Majesty the King, yesterday to form a government and to form the Labour government of 2024.

"And now we hold our first cabinet meeting.

"So I welcome you to it - we have a huge amount of work to do, so now we get on with our work."

By Dominic Waghorn , international affairs editor

As Sir Keir Starmer takes the helm, international waters have rarely been so ominous. The free world has not looked in such grave peril for decades.

In America, the likely next president is Donald Trump, a man viscerally suspicious of rules, let alone rules-based world orders. His very accession to power threatens the fatal weakening of NATO and imperils Ukraine's chances of staving off Russian aggression.

His threats of retribution and political subversion at home arguably endanger the US republic itself.

In Europe, the far-right is on the march. At worst, that threatens a government in France antipathetic to Sir Keir's political principles and agenda. At best, it will likely bring political chaos gridlock in one of the two strongest pillars of Europe.

In the Far East, North Korea's eccentric tyrant is taking advantage of Russia's weakness to help himself to technology and aid that will make his despotic rule even more dangerous to the world.

And China is ruled by a man apparently still determined at some point to annex neighbouring Taiwan against the will of its people and trample their rights, as he has in Hong Kong. He seems unbothered by the likely economic and geopolitical implications of such a move.

So looming chaos and division wherever the new prime minister and his foreign secretary look. For once after years of political turmoil, Britain seems stable and almost boringly calm unlike the rest of the world. Its political system has weathered multiple storms. Not for the first time in history it has made peace with forces now roiling its continental neighbours ahead of them.

If they are wise, Britain's new stewards of foreign policy will seek to lead and mediate where possible, avoid distraction over internal squabbles at home and navigate a true course through these unprecedentedly choppy waters. If they fail, Britain will likely be sucked into the turmoil too.

Sky News understands Jeremy Hunt has ruled himself out of the Tory leadership race.

It comes as speculation begins as to who will lead the party in opposition for the first time in 14 years.

Rishi Sunak said he would step down immediately - as soon as a successor is secured.

Earlier this morning, Suella Braverman - widely believed to be preparing a bid to run - said there were "no announcements" to be made today.

Among the other politicians who might make a bid are Kemi Badenoch and James Cleverly.

Robert Jenrick, Priti Patel and Tom Tugenhat could also enter the race.

Read profiles on each of them here...

If you were following our coverage yesterday, you may remember the moment newly re-elected Labour MP Jess Phillips faced down hecklers who she said could not handle a strong woman standing up to them.

Since the acceptance speech, in which she was interrupted at least five times by boos and jeers, she has reflected on an "absolutely horrible campaign".

Ms Phillips told Beth Rigby on the Electoral Dysfunction podcast that she and some of her constituents have faced "the most aggressive, most intimidatory" abuse in recent weeks.

Labour campaign activists in Birmingham had their car tyres slashed on election day, while a young woman handing out leaflets had "genocide" screamed in her face as someone filmed it, she explained.

"The reason they're filming is to drive content, to incite more intimidation," she said.

"In my constituency, the humiliation was by men, to women."

She added: "That's what our politics has become - humiliation, content-driven grift."

The MP said of candidates standing on a Gaza platform: "They have done absolutely nothing to help a single person in Gaza.

"They have just bullied and picked on mainly women."

The new prime minister Sir Keir Starmer has not yet moved into Downing Street.

So he has also arrived in Westminster for this morning's cabinet.

Unlike the rest of his ministerial team, he arrived through the back gate of Downing Street, rather than through the front door.

Around two hours ago, a small group of ministers arrived in Downing Street ahead of the first cabinet of the Labour government.

The rest of Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer's top team look to be arriving now.

Environment Secretary Steve Reed has been seen entering Number 10 this morning.

Health Secretary Wes Streeting and Transport Secretary Louise Haigh have also gone through the famous black door.

They were followed by Science Secretary Peter Kyle and Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson.

Ed Miliband, the energy secretary, entered alongside Foreign Secretary David Lammy and Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds.

Speaking to Sky political editor Beth Rigby , Mr Miliband joked that he was "always" surprised by a Labour victory.

Defence Secretary John Healey, Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner and Chancellor Rachel Reeves followed them in afterwards, with Home Secretary Yvette Cooper going in afterwards.

House of Commons Leader Lucy Powell told Beth there was "lots to do" as she went in.

Labour chair Anneliese Dodds looked very happy as she went into the government building.

She was then joined by Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy and Work and Pensions Secretary Liz Kendall.
