Plan your singapore tour with sotc - experience more in singapore.

The best time to visit Singapore depends on the type of experiences and activities you are interested in. Singapore is one of the few places in the world that you can visit anytime for tourism purposes. So, you can pack your bags and set out for your journey to this beautiful city-state whenever your schedule opens up. However, if you want to learn about the traditionally considered best season to visit Singapore, check out the following points;

Peak season in Singapore

The peak season for tourism in Singapore comes in two phases. The first being from November to January and the second being from June to July. These are the months when the region experiences a massive surge in its tourist crowd. The weather remains quite pleasant through these months, offering visitors ideal opportunities for various outdoor activities besides Singapore sightseeing. Another reason that draws international visitors to this city-state during these months is the local festivals and events. This includes grand occasions and celebrations like Deepavali, Thimithi, ZoukOut, New Year, The Great Singapore Sale, Singapore Food Festival, etc. All these make these months the best time to visit Singapore for holidays. Even though the weather stays pretty clear for the most part, you may experience some rain, especially between November and December. Make sure to reserve hotels, flights and restaurants in advance, as it is the peak season for Singapore tourism .

Shoulder season in Singapore

The months between the two peak season phases are usually regarded as the shoulder season for Singapore tourism. It mainly stretches from February to May, and the weather stays quite dry and hot for the most part. However, the fall in tourist crowds during the shoulder season is not a drastic one. It is still a great time to visit Singapore if you are looking for great deals on flights, hotels, transfers and other services. Besides, tourists can also attend various events and festivals when travelling to Singapore between the shoulder season months, such as the Chinese New Year celebrations, Chingay Parade, Singapore International Jazz Festival, Affordable Art Fair, Vesak Day, etc.

Low season in Singapore

The low season in Singapore covers the months of August, September and October. The main reason for the dip in tourist crowds is due to the high temperature and humidity levels. It slightly affects sightseeing, city exploration and other outdoor activities, which can be a dealbreaker for many tourists. Even though the eastern side of this city-state stays dry, you can expect to see rain showers on the western side. The temperatures become quite pleasant towards the end of October, and you can secure some great deals on transfers and accommodations during this period. Many consider September the best month to visit Singapore because of the Singapore Grand Prix.

To have a memorable Singapore holiday, you must be very sure about the mode of transport that you are choosing. Although the best and the most convenient way to reach Singapore is by air, you can also choose the other option if you have time in hand. Depending on the mode of transport you decide to go for, you can choose from the Singapore tourism packages. So, let us discuss them at length.

  • By air :  You can catch a flight to Changi Airport in Singapore from most of the cities in India. Over the years, due to Singapore tourism, the frequency of flights from India has increased. Therefore, you will have no problem getting a flight from India to Singapore. The usual time taken on a flight from India to Singapore is 5 hours and 35 minutes. You can find flights included in most of the Singapore tour packages offered by SOTC, while in some Singapore tourism packages it is optional. Also, you can find Singapore packages from Delhi , Kolkata, Mumbai, etc., on our page.
  • By road :  You can travel to Singapore even by road. However, you need to know that the travel time is going to be long; thus, you would need to have time in your hands for the Singapore holidays. You have to travel through the India-Myanmar Friendship road.  As you take this route, you have to drive via Bangkok in Thailand to Malaysia. And from Malaysia, you can either rent a car or you can book your bus tickets to travel to Singapore. If you rent a car, you can avoid immigration or customs. From Larkin Bus Terminal in Johor Bahru, you can get a specially licensed taxi. On the other hand, if you travel by bus, you have to stand in a queue to get your passport checked. You mostly would not find this option included in the Singapore packages.

As you come across the Singapore tour packages in SOTC's website, you will find many places included in them. You can either choose from the Singapore tourism packages depending on the destinations that you plan to visit or can also cover the nearest places to those destinations. What they say is true.. people take the time to write a bad review, but don’t necessarily take the time to put in a good review… So I thought I will take the time to share my experience with SOTC.

I have travelled extensively, but I chose to do a tour for Europe so that its easy for my parents to find veg food and they don’t need to walk too much. After a lot of research, in Sep 2017, my parents and I chose the 10 day Cost saver European splendors tour from Rome to Paris.

- Itinerary was good.. since it was rushed, I made up for it by spending extra days in Europe before and after the tour

- They cover a lot of ground but trip gets exhausting. If you are prepared for it, it’s not a problem

- Food was good for the most part (esp Switzerland)

- Zubin, our tour manager, was accommodating and proficient

- Someone’s bag and passport were stolen on the last day, and SOTC was proactive in helping them with the embassy and local police

- We were told Mumbai airport would have a SOTC airport representative. But there was no one there. My parents struggled after the flight was cancelled. However SOTC rebooked the flight in the next morning, but it was a stressful night for us.

- It’s exhausting, but in 10 days SOTC covers what you can’t do in even 2 weeks by yourself.

- Some hotels were either too far or not very nice (I know it was a budget tour, but still)

- Since we were driving for long hours in the day, for many lunches we just stopped in gas service station where veg options were limited.. but again, if you prepare for this then it is not a problem

- Large group (~45 people)… Some people in the tour were lacking a sense of timing and / or civic sense.. We spent time waiting around for the whole group to arrive, but we can’t hold it against the tour company

Over all I was pleased with the tour since I knew what to expect. I think the ones who are usually disappointed with group travels are the ones who don’t research about the tour.

I would not hesitate to pick SOTC for the next tour with my parents.

sotc tours trip

We are travelling in European experience 2nd day. The quality of breakfast and dinner sucks. It is getting worse each day

My Parents had booked a holiday with the sortc group and just a month before they were supposed to travel they canceled the trip without any prior information. The staff in their TDI mall branch in Delhi has been highly unprofessional and uncooperative. Despite all timely payments and complete paperwork they were unable to plan a holiday for them which they assured they would. The working style here is very laid back and you can’t expect any proactiveness. Once you pay them they don’t answer calls, reply to emails or give you time to meet up.

Khalid, Tajender shubham shashank guys you have seriously disappointed and harassed people with your attitude. Never coming back to this organisation for sure.

They do have a lousy choice of hotels and food

' class=

Our experience with SOTC was horrible. Instead of a #vacation it was a #vexation .

Once SOTC collects an advance, you are goner. Then they will try numerous ploys to extract more money from you.

2. Visas - They delayed our visas and we had to pay extra for ;express visa'

3. Forex - They charges us Rs.2 per Euro than the prevailing exchange rate on the date giving some apocryphal story of head office rate etc. Wonder if they are doign a FERA violation by charging additional on Forex. Worth checking out

4. Hotels - They gave us hotels that were nearly 2 hours outside every city, resulting we spending most of the time in the bus. In interlaken they gave us 15 minutes. In Florence, they took us to a hill view and showed us the city from their. Absolutely waste of time.

5. They have junior staff who deal with you and have selective hearing. The senior staff hide behind and do not commit upfront.

6. The only saving grace was that they had an experienced on ground Tour operator who made our trip pleasant with his cooperation and hospitality.

All in all it was a very unpleasant experience with SOTC. #SOTC_Sucks #SOTC_Vexation

Use them at your peril.

I am Mr. Rameshchandra http://R.Shah.Traveled Splendid Tour Package. (15 Days) http://Ref.Dr.Samir Shah)

I am narrating my experiences with SOTC . I have joined splendid tour package for Europe tour starting from 30 th April to !4 th May,in all total 15 days. I have earlier traveled to Thailand, Malayeshiya and Singapore about eight years back with SOTC. In those days I have a very good experience with SOTC, so i have decided to go Europe tour with SOTC only. They arranged very good lunch and dinner, for us they have taken special care to provide JAIN menu on table itself. Four-five star rated hotels, they find very good indian restaurant in europe where it is difficult to have Indian and Gujarati food is a problem. ours tour manager Mrs.Sangeeta Madan who has taken lot of care for all our individuals .some of us were senior citizens , she was taking special care for them.sight seeing they have given enough time to enjoy and no hurry any where noticed.we were 46 persons came from diff. parts of India , but in a very short time it became one family and nicely enjoyed all together. It was nothing but it was brotherhood.to bring all together, the main role was played by our Tour Manager Sangeeta Madan, we have some photos with me, but i do not know where to paste them. pl. guide me , i will paste some memorable moments to share with SOTC .

Never book via SOTC.

My parents have been availing SOTC for quite a while for tours around the world and they were satisfied. But recently they had a bad experience with SOTC.

Dear SOTC: I booked a trip to Switzerland in the last week of January 2018 for Best of Swiss trip starting 16th June – 23rd June. I would like to share my experience with you and your team and to other enthusiast travelers. To be honest it was very disappointing and very bad experience we had with SOTC, not only us but also for most of the people in our group.

• Mis-selling: your team commit something and provide something

o At the time of booking I was informed (in writing) that the group size would be approx. 24-30 max , but to our shock when we reached Zurich airport, we came to know that the group size was 47 and had to wait for more almost 1.5 hrs for all the people to come in.

o Hotel were changed and the standard was not even near to the one that was committed or mentioned initially. I know that you mention while selling that it would be this hotel or similar . And there is where the agency plays the trick. As the traveller after paying a huge sum of money is not left with much option.

• Overcharging:

o At the time of making final payment, your team charged me excess money (almost Rs.12,000) out of which they explained that some charges (approx. Rs.4,500) were due to increase in some airport tax and rest they were unable to explain and later on revered as additional discount on repeated query. With such an experience and professional experience I would expect your team to more efficient and well-coordinated. I have also not heard of any such tax increase in any of the newspaper or media. It is again if someone doesn’t reconcile, must have benefited SOTC.

• Bad planning:

o We paid a good amount of advance money almost 25% in the month of Jan, however we were not sure of the hotels booked till the last day of the trip. Not sure how it is possible. The team was not able to confirm if Wifi would be available in all the hotels or not, , which is a basic facility these days.

o On the last day at Zermate, all were asked to check out from hotel at 11.00 AM for a flight to catch at 10.00 PM from Milan. Everyone were just waiting on the roadways / footpath and sitting on the roads till 2.00 PM to board the bus for Milan. This wasn’t told to us ever in the entire planning. This was a major put off given that there were elderly and families with Kids travelling.

o Also it Itinerary was not followed like last day it was mentioned that after breakfast we would depart for airport.

• Ownership:

o When we gave the feedback to tour manager, he simply stated always that he is not SOTC employee and works part time / contract basis with them and hence any feedback should be given directly to SOTC.

o Your team provided a complementary travel bag, the moment I opened the packet I found it to be a damaged piece and I immediately informed your Delhi office almost a month prior to the travel to send a replacement as its of no use in the existing condition. However till date I have not received any replacement till date. Its not that I am looking forward to get the bag, but it reflects the culture of your organization – “Don’t really care” types.

o I think your team is least bothered about the feedback or improvement opportunities. You may feel that you are doing good but to hear it from our experience is only way to improve and strengthen the customer base. In the entire trip at least the we felt that there is complete lack of sensitivity and ownership towards the customers.

I would like to share that this is just not my feedback but the entire group feels cheated. I don’t see SOTC as an organization who has any values, really concerns about customer satisfaction and show any commitment towards being the best. If you and your team continues to perform your business like this very soon you will lose you customer and will no longer be considered for any service. I wish you all the best and hope that you take some corrective actions.

Although, you have definitely lost business from me and my references as I am not going to recommend SOTC to anyone in family and friends and will surely share the challenges we faced so that they can take informed decisions. I have travelled via other operators the service was way ahead and better and majorly the commitments were met and weren’t misleading.

we have been a loyal traveller with SOTC....this time too during NZ and Australia trip...my old parents were traveling with me...and they had some health issues as well...but they were very well taken care off by tour manager deval mirani...And i think it takes a great deal to be patient and caring with a bunch of 40-45 ppl traveling together....my 👍For SOTC

sotc tours trip

We just had a trip planned with SOTC( July 19- July 24, 2018) to Bangkok and Pattaya. Everything things went wrong on the trip starting from the booking and the Dates:

1 - We have almost 45 days before booked this package. They promised us the tour will start on July 18th late night or 19th early morning but on july 14th they emailed us and told the tour will start on 20th instead of 19th, thats how we have noticed this company has no time sense and no execution or planning. Their customer service is below par and most of them lied including the supervisor. No one will honor their words and at the end i forced to start my trip on 20th, for which i have to cancel my other plans, which is not acceptable.

2 - I have also paid the package advance cost for my family initially and they asked me to pay the remaining amount in INR but i insisted to change the start date to 19th as per the initial talk i end up going on 20th itself by paying the remaining balance. Since i am an NRI after paying the full package money they have asked me to pay $560 using my US Credit card and the supervisor promised me to refund the amount in 4-5 days, which happend just 2 hrs before the departure and they forced me to pay the $560.

3 - Since they issued my itinerary and the Air tickets 2 hrs before i didnt had much time to plan for the currency exchange and other things. SOTC didnt told me to carry the photographs for Visa. They were very poor on guiding the customers except they took care of thier money.

Once i reach there i end up paying $20 for 2 photographs and Visa fees almost double paid due to exchanging the currency in Airport for higher rate....Every bit of my trip SOTC has spoiled.

4 - The tour itinerary have hardly 2-3 places to cover in entire Thailand and everything else has to be done by ourself. Though they itinerary has Alcazar Show they didnt take us and told we have cancelled it and instead we are taking you to a temple, which is right opposite to my hotel. Later i have realized they are doing the cost cutting to spent additional 5000 INR for us on Alcazar show tickets...this is completely ridiculous.

All in all we went thru a hell with this company ...please do not book your tour with SOTC....Star tours is the best one to book any international tour.

Trust me with this one. I want to save you from atleast this trouble.

We just came back from the Group Tour of SOTC on 25.08.2018. They covered London in one day. You will see the visiting site by sitting inside the bus, they call it panoramic view in the itinerary, fooling the customer. You will only get down in bucking ham palace to see the site for 1 hour. About Euope : Most of the site will be covered by sitting inside the bus except Eifel Tower, Titlis, Vatican, Tower of Pisa and Disney land Paris. No sufficient time is given to see the site, they are always in hurry. They will take you to open squares where there are statues ( no ticket required). You cannot go inside the important visiting places because it needs entry ticket which is not covered. Hotels are very far from the actual site - 3-4 hours journey.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery and Museum

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

sotc tours trip

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

sotc tours trip

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

sotc tours trip

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

sotc tours trip

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

sotc tours trip

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

sotc tours trip

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.
