Yonex Tour Super 850 Pro

I'm looking for a less expensive alterative to my usual NXT 16, has anyone used this string? How does it compare to NXT, NRG or alpha gut?

-- Bump -- Curious about this string as well, hope someone has info. 1.32 mm. It has been described on another site as a "Blended nylon multifilament core with double winding nylon wraps and Yonex Power-Spin Coating." Also: "An innovative structure of high elastic multifilament and our exclusive "Power-Spin Coating" that will generate superior spin while maintaining the response and feel of natural gut. A distinctive "Pre-Stretch" method combined with double winding nylon wraps helps maintain string tension and optimizes playability." If that helps, it would be great if any stringer here could compare the 850 TSP to other strings with similar double-wrap, multifilament construction. Also, the site notes that Yonex recommends stringing this string below 55 lbs. My usual tension is 62 lbs. Anyone know why the tension limit for the 850 Tour Super Pro?

Jerry is right, I'm currently using Yonex string. I like both the 850 Tour Super and the 850 Tour Super Spin. I string at 62lbs and have not had any problems - in fact it feels great. Out of the two, I have a slight preference for the Spin as it has a crisper feel. The Tour Super reminds me of LaserFibre SuperNatural Phenom XRC, but I’ve had better durability with the Tour Super. I will talk to our buyer about bringing these strings in. Chris, TW.  

Chris, Would like to confirm and ask a follow-up. The Tour Super (not the spin) reminds you of the Phenom, correct? In terms of durability I am curious to know if the Phenom broke from normal wear for you? I find the Phenom lasts surprisingly long, but have known it to shear easily on mis-hits near head. Do you remember how/when your Phenom broke? Also, thanks for looking into carrying this string.  

Chris, Ive seen from another site I won't say the name of that its reccommended to string the Tour 850 Pro at less than 55 lbs?

Despite having retired again from overexposure to adolescent posters, I can confirm (in my experience) that the Tour 850 Super is one of the nicest 16 gauge multis you'll ever find.

My issues with the Phenom were from shearing - for both me and other playtesters. I really liked the playability of the string, but each set I used broke this way. As far as stringing at less than 55lbs, this is the first I've heard of this. I've had no problems stringing at 65lbs with this string and at my regular 62lbs it feels great. Chris, TW.  

I had the 850 Tour Super in a mp tour1 xf and found it nice. Very consistent and a nice feel, nothing special but above average in every department. If only I could get it in England I would love to test it a bit more. -Liam

Thanks for all the input. I ordered some Tour SUuper 850 pro and tried it out last night in my MP 3i. Its a very nice playing multi, more on control side than the power side; reminds me of technifibre TRC but a little crisper. I think I've found my lower cost multi alternative. In a less powerful racquet i may try the Tour Super 850 (not pro or spin) which I assume is a bit more powerful from the descriptions I've seen.
