Uzbekistan Comprehensive Tour

Tour overview.

Uzbekistan has a lot to offer – you’ll have heard about some pretty amazing places like the Registan, maybe Bibi Khanum’s mosque, and the old cities of Khiva and Bukhara. We do all of them.

Then there are some of the slightly weirder places like Nukus and the Aral Sea, and believe it or not, there’s more to do in the ancient cities than just the famous ancient sites too, like a quirky fashion show!

And then we’ve got a couple of really cool SAIGA specials – the second largest solar furnace in the world, where you’ll learn all about the world of solar furnaces, and an almost abandoned formerly closed Soviet mining town, where we’ll spend the afternoon exploring and speaking to the few locals that are left before staying the night in a nearby sanatorium.

This tour can be done on its own, or following on from the Turkmenistan Comprehensive Tour . It can also be done in conjunction with our Kazakhstan Polygon Tour .

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS

Get lost in the ancient laneways of Bukhara

See the world's worst man-made distater at the Aral Sea

Climb to the top of the world's second largest solar furnace

Explore the formerly closed research town of Yangiabad

Day 1 Wed Apr 19

  • We'll take a walking tour of the old town in the morningincluding Lyabi Hauz Square, Bolo-Hauz Mosque, and the elegant blue-tiled Ulughbek Madrassa.
  • On your way in and out of town you won't be able to miss a huge structure that looks like a giant ark. Known as the Ancient Ark Fortress, this was the Palace of Bukhara's Emirs, and parts of it are still open for us to visit.
  • In the evening we'll sit by the lake, chilling out and taking it all in over a cold drink and a chat.

Day 2 Thu Apr 20

Bukhara, nukus.

  • You might like to get up for a sunrise view over Bukhara. With minarets a-plenty, there are loads of great viewing points, and the sunrise can be quite spectacular over the old city.
  • We’ll leave early in the morning for the long drive to Nukus, with plenty of road side stops along the way.
  • In the afternoon we'll visit the Museum of Savitskiy. The Karakalpakstan State Museum of Art hosts the world's second largest collection of Russian avant garde art (after the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg). Savitskiy himself went to great lengths to save prohibited pieces of art during the Soviet Union, and amazingly you can see some of them now in this museum.
  • Overnight in Nukus.

Day 3 Fri Apr 21

Nukus, aral sea.

  • Departure from Nukus first thing in the morning to drive towards the Aral Sea. Stopping at some Silk Road ruins and a canyon on the way, we'll drive up on to the Usturt Plateau.
  • Arriving at the main part of the sea, if you're game, you can go for a swim. There used to be 10mg of salt per litre in the sea, but now with 160g (yes, grams, not miligrams, so 16,000 times more!) it's not far off the Dead Sea (180g/l), and now you can easily float on top of the water. That’s if you can bring yourself to get to the water, past all the oil and grime that’s collected at the side of the sea.
  • We’ll spend the night in a yurt camp near the shore, from where you can watch the sun set over the rapidly disappearing sea.

Day 4 Sat Apr 22

Aral sea, nukus, tashkent.

  • Ships lay abandoned on the old seabed as the sea receded. A lot of them were removed and destroyed, supposedly so the metal could be recycled, but a dozen or so of them were saved and are now in Moynak.
  • Back in Nukus in the early evening to fly to Tashkent.
  • There will have been various points during the trip where you’ve felt like you’ve returned to civilsation to different extents – arriving in Osh after Song Kol and Jalalabad, then Dushanbe after the Pamirs, Samarqand after Khoja Obigarm, but Tashkent really is the big smoke, and it will be quite exciting to get there.

Day 5 Sun Apr 23

  • Our first stop in Tashkent will be the famous Chorsu Bazaar, with its iconic blue dome that's now home to meat, dairy and dried fruits. Exploring the stalls you'll learn about traditional breadmaking methods, local remedies for everything including of course virility issues, and how Uzbek babies are taught to go to the toilet.
  • You'll probably have tried plov by now, but there's no better place to have it than at the Plov Centre. This gigantic hall, decorated as if for a wedding in the 1980s, is set up for large numbers of people to eat plov in. Prepared just outside by an army of Uzbeks, it is some pretty good plov, but more than that, it is an exceptionally unique experience.
  • Go to Tashkent TV Tower for fabulous views of the city.
  • Next we'll visit the Museum of Railway Techniques’. This outdoor museum is full of all sorts of old locomotives, and they don't mind us climbing all over them. We can even take a little train ride around the train museum. You don't have to be a train lover to enjoy this charming museum.

Day 6 Mon Apr 24

Parkent, yangiabad.

  • Heading out of Tashkent, we'll drive to Parkent, where we've been granted permission to visit a spectacular example of Soviet technology and architecture – the solar furnace. Still functioning, though never really having managed to fulfil its purpose, it's not open to the public.
  • We'll spend the afternoon wandering the streets of the town, exploring the Soviet architecture, and soaking in the atmposphere - a difficult-to-describe mix of lively and summery, and decrepit and derelict.
  • We'll spend the night at a nearby Soviet “resort”. If it's hot you can go for a swim in the river, or if you just want to relax, we might be able to find the massage lady.

Day 7 Tue Apr 25

Yangiabad, samarkand.

  • Leave early in the morning to drive to Samarkand.
  • Once known as the “Pearl of the Muslim World”, Samarkand is a city synonymous with the Silk Road, full of towering minarets, shimmering domes and home to a splendid technicolour bazaar, which you will have time to wander around and discover for yourself this afternoon.
  • After dinner we'll stop at the front of the Registan for the epic sound and light show that is put on every evening after dark. Some say it's tacky, others find it spectacular - whichever camp you find yourself in, it is definitely something!

Day 8 Wed Apr 26

  • Today we will explore the main sites of Samarkand. Having already visited the Registan the day before, we’ll start today’s tour with a walk through the centre of town.
  • We'll also pay visits to Bibi Khanum Mosque, Siyab Bazaar, and the grave of St. Daniel which is said to grow a foot in length every ten years.
  • Visit Romanenko House, a place that is difficult to describe. This small suburban house has been transformed into a completely unique textile workshop where thirty men and women redesign ancient Central Asian clothing into colourful, modern designs.

Day 9 Thu Apr 27

Samarkand, tashkent, end of tour.

  • In the morning we'll catch the high speed train back to Tashkent from Samarkand.
  • Airport transfers according to your flight times. If you'd like to spend some extra time in Tashkent, or are thinking about traveling some more in Central Asia, please let us know if there's anything we can help with.

Beginning and ending in Tashkent, the nation's capital, this trip will have you following in the footsteps of traders, pilgrims, Alexander the Great and Tamerlane himself. Walk in the shadows of ancient, blue-tiled buildings, sleep in a yurt under thousands of desert stars and spend an evening at a home stay with a family in the Nuratau Mountains.

Trip overview

  • The much-photographed Registan in Samarkand is one of the true pinnacles of Islamic architecture. You'll be wowed by the scale, grandeur and beauty of the monuments to iconic figures such as Tamerlane and the Persia-influenced madressas, mosques and mausoleums.
  • Central Asia is a fascinating and unique mix of ancient Silk Road culture, Soviet influence and striving to redefine nations post independence. Geographically and for a time historically, it is the real centre of Asia.
  • Spend an evening in the isolated Kyzylkum Desert, warming yourself by the fire and sleeping in a yurt.
  • Get to really know the stories and people of Uzbekistan while sharing home-cooked meals with local families, including a home stay in the remote Nuratau Mountains.
  • Spend time in World Heritage-listed Bukhara, a 6th-century-BC city that's drenched in history and home to the formidable Ark of Bukhara.
  • Still have some hesitation about going to Uzbekistan? Here are four reasons why you should visit: https://www.intrepidtravel.com/adventures/why-visit-uzbekistan-now/
  • Central Asia is a remote destination, perfect for intrepid travellers in the true sense of the word! You will venture well away from cities, right off the beaten track and be able to immerse yourself in local food, life and culture.
  • Accommodation may on occasion be more basic than what you are used to in homestays, guesthouses and yurt stay. Shower and toilet facilities will be limited in some places and non existent in others. While the comfort level won't always be high, the rewards of living in true local style in this far-out part of the world are immeasurable.
  • As the trip only has limited time in Tashkent, we highly recommend staying a few extra days before or after your tour to enjoy all this great city has to offer

View the itinerary for departures between 01 January 2024 - 31 December 2024

Welcome to Tashkent, Uzbekistan's capital and Central Asia's main hub. Your adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 6 pm where you'll meet you tour leader and fellow travellers. Please look for a note in the hotel lobby or ask the hotel reception where it will take place.

  • Hotel (1 night)

There are no meals included on this day.

Travel from Tashkent to Bukhara by train this morning (approx 4 hours). Located on the ancient Silk Road, Bukhara was an important regional and world hub for many, many years and has a long, fascinating history featuring invasions by both Genghis Khan and the Soviet Red Army. The majority of the town centre is filled with beautiful old buildings and, after checking into the hotel on arrival, you'll explore these on a guided tour. Visit the spectacular Ark building, a fortress that was occupied from the 5th century right up until its bombing in 1920, the Bolo - Hauz Mosque with its most elegant wooden carvings, and thousand - year old Ismail Samani Mausoleum. This shrine, built around the 10th century, was spared destruction during Genghis Khan's invasion as it's thought to have been buried as a result of flooding. It was discovered and excavated in the 20th century, and became a popular spot for pilgrims and local residents who considered it sacred.

  • Bukhara - Ismail Samani Mausoleum
  • Bukhara - Ark Fortress
  • Bukhara - Bolo Hauz Mosque
  • Bukhara - Fayzulla Khojaev House - UZS20000
  • Bukhara - Sitorai Mohi Hosa Palace - UZS40000

The order of sightseeing in Bukhara may change from what is listed in this itinerary, with sights accessible easily on foot visited on Day 2 and other sights on Day 3 or vice versa.

With over 100 architectural monuments scattered throughout the city, there's plenty to be seeing in the well-preserved ancient town. Today, enjoy a full day city tour through sites and places that are steeped in history. Visit the iconic Kalon Mosque and Minaret, one of the most impressive with a view of the city. Stop at the Lyabi - Hauz Plaza, built about 400 years ago around a pool, still full of the old world feel with its picturesque backdrop. Chor Minor, the 4 cornered Minarets stand right behind it too. Don't miss Maghoki - Attar Mosque, which is the oldest mosque in Central Asia built in the 12th century, but was once a Buddhist and a Zoroastrian temple before that. And Ulugbek Madrasah, the first in the city. If you are still energetic after a full day's exploration, perhaps take an optional visit to Hammam Bozori Kord, the oldest Turkish-style bathhouse in Bukhara, before a free evening in town. Your leader can help with suggestions on where to find some authentic Uzbek fare for dinner tonight.

  • Bukhara - Magoki Attori Mosque
  • Bukhara - Kalon Minaret & Mosque
  • Bukhara - Ulugbek Madrasa
  • Bukhara - Lyabi-Hauz Plaza
  • Bukhara - Hammam Bozori Kord - UZS400000
  • Bukhara - Folklore & Fashion show - UZS70000
  • Bukhara - Zindon - UZS20000

Depart Bukhara and drive to Gijduvan. Here you'll visit a ceramic workshop, where sixth-generation ceramicists Abdulla and Alisher Narzullaev make some truly beautiful pieces. Spend an hour or so at the workshop then continue to Nurata, a drive of approximately 2.5 hours. The city proper was founded by Alexander the Great in the 4th century BC, though archaelogical remains date the first inhabitants of the area many thousands of years earlier, and the ruins of his fortress can still be seen today. From Nurata, the group will head into the Kyzylkum desert to spend the night sleeping in yurts. Perhaps choose to take an optional camel ride in the desert, and enjoy an evening campfire and local music with tonight's dinner underneath the desert stars.

  • Yurt (1 night)
  • Gijduvan - Ceramics workshop

Drive into the Nuratau Mountains for our stay in a Tajik village (2-3 hours). These villages are serene, hidden away in the hills with paths shaded by greenery and buildings made of stone. The region is a desert oasis, with irrigation channels watering crops and giving life to trees. Spend the day hiking to waterfalls or petroglyph sites, possibly seeing the endemic mountain sheep called argali. Learn to bake traditional tandir bread and in the evening, learn how their beloved national dish - plov is cooked at the local family and enjoy a feast of home-cooked flavors. Spend the night in a homestay, learning about the local traditions and culture.

  • Homestay (1 night)
  • Nuratau - village visit
  • Nuratau Mountains - Plov cooking demonstration & dinner

Marco Polo described Samarkand as a 'very large and splendid city,' and after a four hour drive you'll find out for yourself. This is a truly breathtaking place that conjures up images of ancient splendour, and there's perhaps no more well-known sight in Central Asia than the magnificent Registan in the heart of the city. This public square was once a gathering place for locals, where they would hear royal announcements and watch public executions among other things. Also visit the Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum, the resting place of Timur who was the first ruler of the Timurid Dynasty. His crypt was opened in 1941 by a Soviet anthropologist, who found an inscription on Timur's gravestone essentially saying that 'He who opens this will be defeated by an enemy more fearsome than I'. On the following day, the Soviet Union was attacked by Hitler. After a day of sightseeing, overnight in a hotel in town and enjoy a free evening.

  • Samarkand - Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum
  • Samarkand - Registan Square

Spend a full day in Samarkand continuing to take in the ancient sights and modern sounds. Don't miss Shah-i-Zinda, a stunning avenue of mausoleums decorated with beautiful blue tiles. Its holiest, most loved shrine is built around what's thought to be the grave of Quasam ibn-Abbas, cousin of the Prophet Mohammed and the man who brought Islam to the region many centuries ago. The Bibi-Khanym Mosque is an incredible example of Islamic architecture, built for Timur by Bibi Khanym, his Chinese wife, while he was away. As the story goes, the architect of the mosque fell deeply in love with her and his kiss left a trace on her cheek. Timur saw the kiss on his return and this, of course, led to the architect's execution. Enjoy some free time after touring the sites in this glorious Silk Road city.

  • Samarkand - Shakh-I-Zinda
  • Samarkand - Bibi-Khanym Mosque
  • Samarkand - Ulugbek's Observatory - UZS30000

  • Samarkand - Afrosiab Museum - UZS30000
  • Samarkand - Siob Bazaar - Free

Depart early this morning return to Tashkent by high-speed train, taking a packed breakfast for us to enjoy on board (approx 2 hours). Hop on local metro and enjoy a short city tour after arrival. Visit the Amir Timur Square in the center of the city, spend time wandering Chorsu Bazaar. The main building is topped by an impressive dome, and the market sells pretty much everything you could imagine, and plenty of things you couldn't. Then enjoy some free time. There maybe the option to catch a performance at the Navoi Ballet & Opera Theatre tonight. This theatre is just one of three that were given the status of 'Grand' within the Soviet Union, the other two being located in Moscow and Minsk. It's housed in a beautiful 20th-century building with a fountain at its entrace, and has played host to classic productions like Swan Lake and some incredible artists. Perhaps get your group together for a final dinner tonight before saying your farewells tomorrow morning.

Best time to go

Flight duration, time difference, discover a star on the ancient silk road, home to ornate mosques, madrasas and mausoleums.

A doubly landlocked country, Uzbekistan is a fascinating blend of arid desert, open steppe, lush oases and fertile river valleys. Despite the remarkable variation in landscapes, it’s the ancient history and culture that makes this the most alluring destination in Central Asia.

Set on the ancient Silk Road, for centuries Uzbekistan was besieged by waves of traders, nomads and conquerors. The architectural legacy that remains is awe-inspiring. Visit intricately decorated mosques, madrasas and mausoleums as well as immense palaces and fortresses in Samarkand , Bukhara and Khiva , once some of the most powerful cities in the world. In the capital of Tashkent the more recent remnants of Soviet rule as well as a superb array of museums are equally fascinating.

The sights to be seen in Uzbekistan are like no other – a holiday here won’t fail to enthral.

Uzbekistan - Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

A trip to Uzbekistan is incomplete without visiting the Registan

A trip to Uzbekistan will introduce you to the best treasures of the ancient trading Silk Road. The cities of Khiva, Bukhara and Samarkand were all popular sites for traders and have each been delicately restored. These stunning mosques and mosaics are complimented by classic Russian architecture, as the country equally pays homage to its many years under Soviet rule. With few foreign tourists, get ready for an intimate visit through Uzbekistan’s wonders.

Tour Highlights

  • Get a panoramic view of old Khiva from the minaret of the Islam Khodja mosque
  • See the colourful mosaics of the Registan plaza in Samarkand
  • Roam through the 114 rooms of Khan's Palace in Kokand
  • Explore the Ark of Bukhara, an incredible fortress built in the 5th century AD
  • Shop beneath the blue dome of the Chorsu Bazaar

Travel Tips

  • Uzbekistan offers some great transportation links for anyone wanting to see all the country has to offer. Whether you prefer domestic flights, high-speed trains, or city metro-rides, Uzbekistan has it all.
  • While most of Uzbekistan's cuisine is quite flavourless (think boiled vegetables and grey meats), some dishes are worth seeking out. Try Lagman, a lamb soup with thick noodles and spices, and jiz, a stir-fry-like dish of beef, onion and eggplant.
  • Avoid border areas in Uzbekistan, particularly at its shared borders with Afghanistan. These areas are often riddled with landmines and have been known to incur cross-border gunfire.
  • Uzbekistan relies heavily on cash. Be sure to exchange your money before you visit, and carry the local currency (Uzbek Sum) rather than U.S. dollars or other foreign currencies.
  • Uzbekistan is a police state, so be prepared for heavy police presence across the country. Carry copies of your passport and other ID with you at all times, and think twice before taking photos (especially of important buildings). The main benefit of this is a relatively low crime rate.

Uzbekistan has seasonal weather so please do check up on best time to visit Uzbekistan before planning your tour.

Uzbekistan holidays take you on an unforgettable journey to the heart of the old Silk Route, a mesmerising destination replete with exquisite architecture and ancient culture.

Uzbekistan’s jewels in the crown are undoubtedly the three great Silk Road cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva.

A major trading city since the time of Alexander the Great, Samarkand flourished under the rule of the Persian Empire, attracting the finest builders, craftsmen, philosophers and scientists, whose workmanship can still be admired today in the Registan,a majestic square lined on three sides by the exquisite, turquoise-tiled facades of three madrasahs.

Central Asia’s holiest city, Bukhara was the centre of commerce, religion and culture for thousands of years and today boasts over 350 mosques and 100 religious colleges.

Khiva is a town made for walking, compact, well maintained and basking in beautiful desert light. The ancient delights of Kukhna Ark Fortress, the turquoise-tiled Islom-Khodja and the mausoleum of Pakhlavan Makhmud can all be found within the walled inner town of Itchan Kala, whilst outside the walls lie prestigious Madrassahs, delicate minarets and opulent palaces.

As beguiling as the ancient cities of Uzbekistan are, the Soviet occupation has also left a very interesting mark. The capital Tashkent was rebuilt in the Soviet style following an earthquake and has many interesting Soviet relics, statues and architecture. Perhaps even more surprising is the remote and isolated city of Nukus, home to the Igor Savitskiy Museum which houses one of the world’s finest collections of Soviet avant-garde art from the 1920s and 30s.

Uzbekistan also has a rugged and rocky landscape with deserts, mountains and valleys interspersed with pockets of fertile, green land. The combination of spectacular countryside and classic Islamic architecture make this nation a visual delight. Lastly this is also an extremely friendly country, where you will feel genuinely welcome by the people you meet on your holiday in Uzbekistan .

Uzbekistan: the next top travel destination for Chinese tourists

uzbekistan tour 2023

As Uzbekistan is located on the ancient Silk Road, Uzbekistan and China's relationship goes back over a thousand years. However, the first visit of a Chinese ambassador to Ferghana, modern-day Uzbekistan dates to 128 B.C. For thousands of years, there has been communication, trade and method exchange between these two nations. In 1991, China recognized the independence of Uzbekistan and started diplomatic relations in 1992. Over the years, the China – Uzbekistan partnership developed and the amount of trade exchange between these nations increased.

At the same time, the number of Chinese travelers visiting Uzbekistan increased dramatically.  According to the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan, over 42,000 tourists traveled from China to Uzbekistan in 2023.

As we know, China has the largest outbound tourism in the world and every year over 100 million people from China travel abroad for tourism reasons. While Thailand, France and the UAE are among the most popular destinations for Chinese travelers, Uzbekistan also has a great tourism potential that could attract travel enthusiasts from China.

Firstly, Uzbekistan is a convenient country for Chinese travelers, Uzbekistan offers visa-free regime for citizens of China, allowing them to stay up to 10 days in the country. Secondly, there are 50 - 100 direct flights between China and Uzbekistan per week, making it convenient for travelers to visit Uzbekistan any time they want from their preferred airport.

Talking about the tourism potential of Uzbekistan, the country is known for its unique architecture, fascinating nature and authentic culture. Uzbekistan is home to seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites and thousands of historical and archeological sites.

Tashkent is the capital of Uzbekistan, and it is known for its modern buildings, beautiful parks, and unique Soviet architecture. It is the most populated city in Central Asia. Some of the city's most visited attractions are Tashkent TV tower, which was once the third tallest tower in the world; Chorsu bazaar, a traditional Uzbek bazaar which takes you back to previous centuries; and The Magic City Park, which is known as the Uzbekistan's Disneyland. Moreover, the Tashkent metro is also a great destination for travelers. Tashkent metro is not just a metro but a museum. Each metro station was carefully designed to represent the unique architecture of Uzbekistan.

Samarkand, the second largest city in Uzbekistan, is known as the oldest city in Central Asia. Although the city is considered to be older, the 2750th anniversary of Samarkand was celebrated in 2007. Samarkand was the capital of the Timurid Empire. Timurid Empire was founded by the national hero of Uzbekistan, Amir Timur in 1370. It was one of the largest empires in history; as historians describe it, "It takes 6 months to travel from the east to the west of the Timurid Empire." During his reign, Amir Timur brought the most talented architects and artists to the city of Samarkand and ordered them to construct beautiful structures. Today, after several centuries, these monuments are still standing in the city of Samarkand, amazing those who spend time in the city.

Bukhara is another city with an over 2000-year-old history. Along with other cities of Uzbekistan like Samarkand, Tashkent and Kokand, Bukhara also played an important role in the Silk Road. Bukhara was the capital of the Emirate of Bukhara and is a great destination for history enthusiasts. Visitors can explore the castle of the Emir and several architectural monuments.

Among these monuments, there is Minorai Kalon. According to historical texts, Genghis Khan was very impressed to see the size of the tower and did not allow his soldiers to attempt to destroy it.

Many more cities in Uzbekistan boast unique history and art. Furthermore, Uzbekistan is a great destination for those who are looking for an authentic culture. As we mentioned above, thanks to the Silk Road, Uzbekistan is located at the crossroads of cultures, which contributed to its colorful costumes, mouthwatering foods and beautiful traditions.

Uzbekistan is also home to different types of handicrafts. The city of Kokand in the Ferghana valley of Uzbekistan is known as the capital of handicrafts and the city hosts international crafts festivals. Kokand and its bordering cities are home to artisans who have been preserving their ancient style of crafting for centuries. Families in Margilan have been producing Adras, silk fabric, for several centuries, while families in Rishtan create beautiful blue ceramics. It is a great destination for those who are interested in hand-made art.

Nature lovers can also enjoy the unique flora and fauna of Uzbekistan. Zaamin located in the Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan, is known for its mountainous environment and spectacular views. Amirsoy Winter Resort in the Tashkent region was constructed through a partnership with Switzerland, and it is famous for skiing and other winter activities. Visitors can also enjoy Kyzylkum safari which allows them to camp and stay in nomadic yurts in the unique Central Asian desert. Another unique destination is the Aral Sea, which was once the 4th largest lake in the world and then lost more than 90 percent of its water.

For every traveler, safety is one of the most important factors when choosing a destination. According to the 2024 Safety Perceptions Index, Uzbekistan is the safest country in the world. Furthermore, Uzbekistan received top ranks in several other safety rankings. There are also tourist police in almost every tour attraction who are fluent in multiple foreign languages. Visitors can reach out to them at any time for questions or help.

Additionally, hospitality is a big part of Uzbek culture. Uzbekistan's location on the ancient Silk Road means the country has a rich history of receiving visitors, including Chinese merchants, who visited Uzbek cities to trade their goods. Local people invited visitors into their homes and treated them very well. Today, people in Uzbekistan are still very hospitable and welcoming towards foreigners.

Just as in the past, Uzbekistan will welcome Chinese visitors with open arms. Given our countries' shared history, geographic closeness, and the opportunity for cultural exchange, Uzbekistan should be a top tourism destination for Chinese travelers.  Increasing the contact between our nations will only strengthen our historical bond.

Alessandro Magno, Gengis Khan, Tamerlano.
