हर कोई वृंदावन में कृष्ण के बाल कांड को महसूस करने के लिए जाता है। हजारों श्रद्धालु सालों भर वहां कृष्ण और राधा की पूजा करते हैं। वृंदावन कृष्ण की बाल लीलाओं के लिए काफी अधिक प्रचलित है। इस वजह से वहां कृष्ण और राधा की अनेकों मूर्तियां हैं।

केसी घाट वृंदावन के धार्मिक स्थलों में से एक है। भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने अपने बचपन का ज्यादातर समय वृंदावन में बिताया था और माना जाता है। इसी घाट पर भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने दुष्ट राक्षस केसी का वध किया था और उसके अत्याचार और दुष्टता से उनके मित्र व समुदायों को बचाया था।

वृंदावन में घूमने लायक जगह में से एक धनवाणी है। माना जाता है भगवान श्री कृष्ण यहां पर रासलीला क्या करते थे। यहां पर सुबह 5:00 बजे से शाम के 8:00 बजे तक घूमने के लिए आ सकते हैं।

वृंदावन में स्थित बंसीवट में पर्यटक को अत्यंत ही सुखद की अनुभूति होता है। इस स्थान पर भगवान श्री कृष्ण शरद पूर्णिमा के दिन वृंदावन के सभी गोपियों के साथ महारास लीला किए थे।

यहां पर एक वट का वृक्ष है, जो 5500 वर्ष से भी ज्यादा पुराना है। इसी वृक्ष के नीचे भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने बांसुरी बजाई, जिसकी मधुर धून सुन वृंदावन की सभी गोपियां अपने सभी कामकाज भूलकर इस पेड़ की ओर दौड़ पड़ी।

कहा जाता है कि गोपियों ने भगवान श्रीकृष्ण से शिकायत की कि आप हमेशा राधा के साथ ही रासलीला करते हैं, जिसके बाद भगवान श्री कृष्ण यहां पर वृंदावन के सभी गोपियों के साथ अनेकों रूप लेकर रासलीला खेले थे। कहा जाता है कि वंशीवट की तरफ कोई बरगद का वृक्ष नहीं है। इसलिए वृंदावन की यात्रा के दौरान श्रद्धालु निश्चित रूप से यह जगह घूमने आते हैं।

• राधा दामोदर मंदिर

श्री राधा दामोदर मंदिर वृंदावन के खूबसूरत धार्मिक पर्यटन स्थलों में से एक है, जो दर्शकों के लिए आकर्षण का केंद्र है। यह मंदिर वृंदावन में स्थित सात गोस्वामी मंदिरों में से एक है, जिसकी स्थापना 1542 में एक गुरु श्रील जीवा गोस्वामी द्वारा की गई थी।

मुगल काल में औरंगजेब ने इस मंदिर पर हमला भी किया, जिसके कारण इस मंदिर का काफी नुकसान हुआ। जिसके बाद 1740 में मूर्ति को जयपुर में स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया था। इस मंदिर में दो प्रमुख खंड है। प्रार्थना कक्ष और दूसरे कक्ष में श्रील जीवा गोस्वामी, कृष्ण दास कविराज गोस्वामी, भुगर्भ गोस्वामी और श्रील रूप गोस्वामी की समाधि मौजूद है।

इस मंदिर में श्री दामोदर के साथ श्री राधा रानी और ललिता साक्षी की मूर्तियां हैं। इस मंदिर का दर्शन करने आने वाले भक्त अक्सर राधा दामोदर मंदिर की 4 परिक्रमा करते हैं। सुबह के 6:30 बजे से शाम के 9:30 बजे तक श्रद्धालु इस मंदिर का दर्शन करने आ सकते हैं।

वृंदावन शहर यमुना नदी के किनारे बसा हुआ है, जिसके कारण यह नदी वृंदावन में बेहद महत्व रखता है। यमुना नदी का भगवान श्री कृष्ण से गहरा संबंध है। यमुना नदी को भगवान श्री कृष्ण की बहन कहा जाता है। यह नदी गंगा के समान ही भारत की पवित्र नदी है।

ऐसी मान्यता है कि जो इस नदी के पावन जल में डुबकी लगाता है भगवान श्री कृष्ण जी उसके सभी पाप माफ कर देते हैं और उस व्यक्ति की शरीर और आत्मा शुद्ध हो जाती हैं। यही कारण है कि वृंदावन आने वाला हर एक श्रद्धालु यमुना नदी में डूबकी जरूर लगाता है। वृंदावन में यमुना नदी के बहुत सारे घाट है। यमुना नदी के घाटों पर नांव सवारी का भी विलुप्त उठा सकते हैं।

रंगजी मंदिर

वृंदावन-मथुरा मार्ग पर स्थित रंगजी मंदिर जो भगवान विष्णु के 108 दिव्य देशों में से एक हैं। इस मंदिर को श्री रंगनाथ मंदिर के नाम से भी जाना जाता है, जिसका निर्माण 1851 में किया गया था।

इस मंदिर में भगवान श्री कृष्ण के दूल्हे रूप में मूर्ति स्थापित की गई है और इनकी दुल्हन अंडाल हैं। इस तरह इस मंदिर में भगवान कृष्ण और अंडाल की प्रतिमा स्थापित है। इस मंदिर को उत्तर भारत के सबसे बड़े मंदिरों में से एक माना जाता है।

मंदिर में पानी की भी व्यवस्था की गई है। इसके साथ यहां पर एक उद्यान भी है। इस मंदिर में दर्शकगण सुबह 6:00 बजे से रात्रि के 11:00 बजे तक आ सकते हैं।

राधाबल्लभ मंदिर

वृंदावन में एक और खूबसूरत दर्शनीय स्थल राधावल्लभ मंदिर है। यह मंदिर बांके बिहारी मंदिर से कुछ ही दूर गौतम नगर के पास स्थित है। यह मंदिर भगवान श्रीकृष्ण को समर्पित है।

यहां उन्हें राधावल्लभ के नाम से पूजा जाता है, जिसका अर्थ है राधा की पत्नी। इस मंदिर का निर्माण 1585 ईसवी में हरिवंश महाप्रभु के पुत्र श्री वन चंद्र के शिष्य सुंदर दास भटनागर ने किया था।

इस मंदिर में भगवान श्री कृष्ण और राधा रानी दोनों का एक साथ दर्शन पा सकते हैं। वह दो नहीं बल्कि एक ही है कृष्ण और राधा एक दूसरे में समाहित है। कहा जाता है कि इन दोनों का दर्शन उन्हें मिलता है, जो सच्ची श्रद्धा से इस मंदिर में आता है।

मंदिर की वास्तुकला बेहद शानदार है। मंदिर के साज सजावट के कारण यह काफी आकर्षक लगता है। मंदिर के निर्माण में लाल बलुआ पत्थर का उपयोग किया गया है। मंदिर की दीवार 10 फीट मोटी है।

कुछ लोक कथाओं के अनुसार कहा जाता है कि यह मंदिर उसी स्थान पर बना है जहां पर रासलीला के दौरान राधा रानी थक कर बैठ गई थी तब भगवान श्रीकृष्ण स्वयं उनका पैर दबाने लगे थे। इस मंदिर में भगवान श्री कृष्ण और राधा रानी के दुर्लभ दर्शन के लिए श्रद्धालुओं की सबसे ज्यादा भीड़ रहती हैं।

यह मंदिर हर दिन सुबह 5:00 बजे से दोपहर के 12:00 बजे तक और शाम के 6:00 बजे से लेकर 9:00 बजे तक खुला रहता है।

• प्रेम मंदिर

वृंदावन का कृष्ण और राधा के प्रेम लीला की वजह से भी जाना जाता है। इस वजह से वहां एक प्रसिद्ध प्रेम मंदिर बनाया गया है, जिसे बनाने में 11 वर्ष का समय और 100 करोड़ से अधिक की धनराशि लगी है। प्रेम मंदिर इटालियन करारा मार्बल से बना हुआ है। इस मंदिर पर जो कारीगरी की गई है, उस को देखकर आप भारतीय संस्कृति और शिल्प कला के नए रूप को देख पाएंगे।

मंदिर का निर्माण साल 2012 में जगत गुरु कृपालु जी महाराज के द्वारा शुरू किया गया था। मंदिर के परिसर में भगवान श्री कृष्ण, राधा, गोपियां और ब्रज वासियों के अनेक लीलाओं को मूर्तियों के रूप में प्रदर्शित किया गया है, जो बहुत ही जीवंत लगता है।

प्रेम मंदिर खुलने का समय पूरे सप्ताह सुबह 5:30 बजे से रात के 8:30 बजे तक है। रात के समय मंदिर में लगी रंग बिरंगी लाइटों के कारण मंदिर और भी खूबसूरत लगता है।

कुसुम सरोवर

वृंदावन में स्थित कुसुम सरोवर गोवर्धन से लगभग 2 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर राधा कुंड के निकट स्थापित की गई है। यह स्थापत्य कला का एक उत्कृष्ट नमूना है, जिसका निर्माण जवाहर सिंह द्वारा उनके पिता सूरजमल की स्मृति में किया गया था।

उस दौरान यह कुंड कच्चा था। लेकिन 1675 के बाद ओरछा के राजा जिनका नाम राजा वीर सिंह था, उन्होंने इस कुंड को पक्का करवाया। उन्होंने अपनी रानी किशोरी के लिए यहां पर बाग बगीचे का भी निर्माण कराया, जिससे यह कुंड वर्तमान में काफी सुंदर और मनोरम लगता है।

वृंदावन की यात्रा में एक और खूबसूरत जगह मानसरोवर शामिल है। यह एक खूबसूरत झील है, जो वृंदावन के मुख्य शहर से 5 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर माठ तहसील में स्थित है।

इस झील को लेकर एक पौराणिक मान्यता है कि इस झील का निर्माण राधा की आंसुओं से हुआ था। कहा जाता है कि मथुरा जाने से पहले भगवान श्री कृष्ण वृंदावन के सभी गोपियों से इसी स्थान पर मिलते हैं और उनके साथ रासलीला करते हैं।

वह रासलीला इतनी खूबसूरत थी कि स्वयं भगवान शिव जी भी नारी का रूप लेकर इस रासलीला में शामिल होने के लिए आ गए थे। भगवान श्री कृष्ण शिव जी के इस रूप को पहचान गए थे और वे उनके साथ भी नृत्य करने लगे थे, जिसे देख राधारानी रुष्ट होकर एक पहाड़ी पर जाकर बैठ गई और रोने लगी।

वहीं पर उनके बहते आंसुओं से यह मानसरोवर झील उत्पन्न हुई। यह झील और उसके आसपास का वातावरण इतना मनमोहक है कि यहां से आपको जाने का मन नहीं करेगा।

• मदन मोहन मंदिर

वृंदावन में स्थित मदन मोहन मंदिर वैष्णव संप्रदाय का एक मंदिर है। हालांकि इस मंदिर के निर्माण और शिल्प के संबंध में ज्यादा जानकारी उपलब्ध नहीं है। लेकिन प्रचलित कथाओं के अनुसार कहा जाता है कि एक रामदास खत्री नामक व्यापारी हुए थे, जो अपने व्यापार से लदे हुए नाव से यमुना को पार करके आ रहे थे।

उसी दौरान उनकी नांव यमुना में फंस गई तब उन्होंने मदन मोहन जी की प्रार्थना की और भगवान मदन मोहन ने उन्हें दर्शन दिया। इसके बाद यहां पर मदन मोहन की मंदिर स्थापित की गई।

• इस्कॉन मंदिर

1975 में इस्कॉन मंदिर को हजार से भी अधिक संस्कारों ने मिलकर वृंदावन में ऐसी जगह बनाया है, जहां माना जाता है कि भगवान कृष्ण वहां अपने दोस्तों के साथ खेलने और गया चढ़ाने आते थे।

• बांके बिहारी मंदिर

यह मंदिर लिम्का बुक ऑफ रिकॉर्ड में भी दर्ज है। इस मंदिर के गर्भ ग्रह में मां दुर्गा के नौ अलग-अलग स्वरूपों की प्रतिमाएं स्थापित की गई है। मंदिर के अंदर मां दुर्गा की 141 फीट ऊंची विशाल प्रतिमा है। प्रतिमा के नीचे मां के चरणों में भगवान हनुमान जी बैठे हुए हैं।

• गोविंद देव मंदिर

वृंदावन में घूमने लायक दार्शनिक स्थलों में से एक गोविंद देव मंदिर भी है, जो वैष्णव संप्रदाय का मंदिर है। इस मंदिर की वास्तुकला बहुत ही अनोखी है। इस मंदिर का निर्माण लाल रंग के पत्थरों से किया गया है। यह मंदिर भगवान विष्णु को समर्पित है, जिसका निर्मल 1550 ईसवी में किया गया था।

• पागल बाबा मंदिर

वृंदावन में एक 10 मंजिला मंदिर है, जो काफी खूबसूरत दिखता है। वह संगमरमर यह 10 मंजिली इमारत अपनी खूबसूरती से किसी का भी देना अपने वश में कर सकती है, वह मंदिर मार्ग के फूल के समान दिखती है।

कालियादेह घाट

मथुरा यात्रा

उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य में स्थित, भगवान श्रीकृष्ण की जन्मभूमि मथुरा का हर आकर्षण किसी न किसी माध्यम से भगवान कृष्ण से जुड़ा है। हमारे इस महत्वपूर्ण तीर्थस्थान पर भगवान कृष्ण और राधा को समर्पित कई मंदिर हैं। यमुना नदी के किनारे बसा मथुरा को भारत के आध्यात्मिक स्थल के साथ-साथ भारतीय संस्कृति और सभ्यता का प्रतीक भी माना जाता है। समूचे विश्व से कई लोग शान्ति और ज्ञान की प्राप्त करने के लिए यहाँ के आश्रमों और मंदिरों की ओर रुख करते हैं।

मथुरा कैसे पहुंचे

दिल्ली से लगभग 150 किलोमीटर दूर स्थित मथुरा आप विभिन्न साधनों से पहुंच सकते हैं।

फ्लाइट से मथुरा से कैसे पहुँचे?

मथुरा में कोई एयरपोर्ट उपलब्ध नहीं है, मथुरा का निकटतम एयरपोर्ट  आगरा में है। आगरा से मथुरा की दूरी करीब 61 किलोमीटर है। आगरा में बहुत कम फ्लाइट संचालित होती है, इसलिए दूसरा विकल्प दिल्ली में स्थित इंदिरा गांधी अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डा है। यहाँ आपको भारत या विदेश से आसानी से फ्लाइट उपलब्ध हो जाएगी। इसके बाद आप दिल्ली से मथुरा बस, टैक्सी या ट्रेन की मदद से पहुंच सकते हैं। दिल्ली से मथुरा की दूरी 165 किलोमीटर है।

रेल मार्ग से मथुरा कैसे पहुँचे?

मथुरा जंक्शन पश्चिम, उत्तर और दक्षिणी भारत से अच्छी तरह से जुड़ा हुआ हैं। देश की ज्यादातर ट्रेनें मथुरा रेल्वे जंक्शन में रुकती हैं। इसके अलावा मथुरा कैंट और भूतेश्वर रेल्वे स्टेशन अन्य रेलवे स्टेशन है। आपको मथुरा रेल्वे जंक्शन में ही उतरना है। रेल्वे स्टेशन से मंदिर तक पहुंचने के लिए टैक्सी, ऑटो, रिक्शा आसानी से उपलब्ध हैं।

सड़क मार्ग या बस से मथुरा कैसे पहुँचे?

मथुरा जाने के किये अपनी कार या निजी वाहन एक अच्छा विकल्प है। सड़क मार्ग यात्रा करने के लिए दिल्ली, आगरा और भारत के अन्य शहरों से मथुरा तक लक्जरी बसें भी बड़ी संख्या में उपलब्ध हैं। नई दिल्ली से मथुरा के लिए कैब्स और निजी टैक्सी सेवाएं सस्ती कीमतों पर आसानी से उपलब्ध हैं। राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग मथुरा को देश के प्रमुख शहरों से जोड़ते हैं। एनएच 2 (दिल्ली-हावड़ा) राजमार्ग शहर से गुजरता है और राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग 3 (मुंबई ) से जुड़ता है, जिसका एक हिस्सा मथुरा रोड के नाम से जाना जाता है। एनएच -11 (आगरा से बीकानेर) और एनएच-9 3 (मोरादाबाद) से भी मथुरा पंहुचा जा सकता है। दिल्ली से यमुना एक्सप्रेसवे भी मथुरा से जुड़ता है। उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य मथुरा के लिए लगभग 120 बसें चलाता है। राजस्थान, हरियाणा, मध्य प्रदेश, डीटीसी, चंडीगढ़ और पंजाब राज्य परिवहन की बस कंपनियों द्वारा बस सेवा उपलब्ध है।

मथुरा दर्शन करने का सबसे अच्छा समय

मथुरा दर्शन करने के लिए आप साल में किसी भी समय आ सकते है क्योकि भगवान श्री कृष्ण के दर्शन के लिए हर समय अच्छा होता है। मौसम के अनुसार मथुरा घूमने के लिए अक्टूबर से मार्च के महीनों में वातावरण अच्छा होता हैं। इन दिनों में मथुरा का मौसम सुहावना होता है। यदि आप उत्सव का आनंद लेना चाहते है, तो होली के समय, जन्माष्टमी के समय और राधा अष्टमी के समय यहां उत्सव मनाया जाता है। इस उत्सवों में सम्मलित होना एक सुखद और धार्मिक अहसास होता है।

मथुरा में कहाँ रुके

मथुरा में रुकने की जगह  – श्रीकृष्ण जन्म स्थान के पास ही श्रीकृष्ण जन्म मंदिर समिति का विश्राम गृह, कई होटल और धर्मशालाएं बनी है। धर्मशालाओं में 200-500 रूपये तक कमरे मिल जाते है और प्राइवेट होटल में भी रु.500 से 5000 तक AC और Non AC कमरे मिल जाते है।

मथुरा का निर्माण कैसे हुआ?

सतयुग में मधु नाम के दैत्य ने भगवान शिव की घोर तपस्या करके भगवान शिव को प्रसन्न कर लिया। भगवान शिव ने वरदान स्वरूप उसे एक त्रिशूल दिया था और कहा कि यह त्रिशूल जब तक उसके पास है, तब तक उसे कोई नहीं हरा सकता। मधु दैत्य ने शिवजी से प्राप्त त्रिशूल अपने पुत्र लवणासुर को दिया। राक्षस लवणासुर ने त्रिशूल की शक्ति पाकर ऋषि मुनि और जन मानस पर अत्याचार करना शुरू कर दिया। जब प्रभु श्रीराम को इस बारे में पता चला तो उन्होंने अपने छोटे भाई शत्रुघन को लवणासुर का वध करने का आदेश दिया। शत्रुघन ने लवणासुर के बारे में जानने के लिए महामुनि भार्गव से संपर्क किया। महामुनि ने शत्रुघन को बताया कि जब लवणासुर  वन में शिकार करने जाता है। तो त्रिशूल शिव मंदिर में छोड़कर जाता है। तभी उसका वध करना संभव हो पायेगा। तब शत्रुघन जी ने इसी युक्ति का प्रयोग कर लवणासुर का वध जंगल में कर दिया। लवणासुर के वध के पश्चात् शत्रुघन जी ने मधुवन को काटकर मथुरा नगरी का निर्माण करवाया। मथुरा तो सतयुग से बसा हुआ है। भगवान श्री विष्णु ने जब द्वापर युग में श्रीकृष्ण के रूप में मथुरा में जन्म लिया, तब भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के वजह से मथुरा को धार्मिक और ऐतिहासिक महत्त्व प्राप्त हुआ।

मथुरा के प्रसिद्ध मंदिर और मथुरा के दर्शनीय स्थल

श्री कृष्ण जन्म भूमि मंदिर दर्शन.

कृष्ण जन्म भूमि मंदिर, मथुरा का प्रमुख मंदिर है, जो देखने में बहुत भव्य और भारतीय वास्तुकला का एक अद्भुद उदाहरण है। इसी दिव्य स्थान पर बनी जेल की कोठरी में भगवान श्री कृष्ण का जन्म हुआ था। श्री कृष्ण जन्मस्थली के प्रमुख द्वार पर दो द्वारपाल की मूर्तियाँ बनी है। द्वार के ऊपर भगवान श्री कृष्ण अर्जुन के रथ के सारथी बने दिखाई देते है। लाइन में लगने के बाद बहुत कड़ी सुरक्षा से गुजरकर हमें अन्दर जाना होता है। यह मंदिर तीन भागों में बटा है, गर्भगृह, केशवदेव मंदिर और भगवत भवन। जिस स्थान पर भगवान श्री कृष्ण का जन्म हुआ वह स्थान गर्भगृह में स्थित है। यहाँ खुदाई में मिले 1500 वर्ष पुराने सिहांसन को सुरक्षित रखा गया है। औरंगजेब ने मंदिर को तुड़वाकर ईदगाह बनवाई थी, तब गर्भगृह ईदगाह के नीचे दब गया था।

गर्भगृह के ऊपर एक बरामदे में संगमरमर का एक चबूतरा बना है। यह केशवदेव मंदिर सबसे प्राचीन है। यहाँ भगवान श्री कृष्ण के अतिसुन्दर बाल कृष्ण रूप में दर्शन होते है। इसके अलावा यहाँ जगन्नाथ मंदिर भी है, जहाँ भगवान जगन्नाथ के साथ सुभद्रा और बलराम जी की मूर्तियाँ स्थित है। यहाँ अन्य मंदिरों में सीताराम लक्ष्मण मंदिर, महादेव मंदिर, हनुमान मंदिर, शेरावाली माता मंदिर आदि बने हुए है। यहाँ खम्बों पर भगवान कृष्ण की लीलाओं का वर्णन है। मंदिर की छत पर भगवान कृष्ण की रासलीला और अन्य लीलाओं के बहुत सुन्दर चित्र बने हुए है। मंदिर की परिक्रमा में ताम्रपत्र पर सम्पूर्ण श्री भगवत गीता लिखी हुई है। इन सभी द्रश्यों की अपने मन में उतार लीजिये, ये आपको जीवन भर याद रहेंगे।

कृष्ण जन्म भूमि खुलने का समय

अप्रैल से नवंबर : सुबह 5.00 बजे से 12.00 बजे और शाम 4.00 से 9.30 तक

नवंबर से अप्रैल : सुबह 5.30 से 12.00 बजे और दोपहर 3.00 से 8.30 तक

पोतरा कुण्ड

श्रीकृष्ण जन्मस्थान के पास विशाल और पवित्र पोतराकुंड स्थित है। माता देवकी ने भगवान श्रीकृष्ण का जन्म होने के बाद उनके वस्त्र-उपवस्त्र इसी कुंड में धोए थे। इसलिए इस कुण्ड को पोतरा कुण्ड कहा जाता है। इस कुंड में पानी अंदरूनी स्त्रोतों से भरा जाता रहा है। कृष्ण भक्त, जन्मस्थान मंदिर का दर्शन करने के बाद यहाँ भी दर्शन करने आते है।

द्वारकाधीश मंदिर

मथुरा के सबसे प्रमुख दर्शनीय स्थलों में से एक द्वारकाधीश मंदिर 1814 में सेठ गोकुल दास पारीख ने बनवाया था यह मंदिर यमुना नदी के किनारे विश्राम घाट के समीप स्थित है। इस मंदिर में भगवान कृष्ण के द्वारकाधीश स्वरुप के दर्शन करते ही मन भक्तिभाव जाग उठता है। श्री द्वारकाधीश जी के बायीं ओर श्री रुक्मणी जी बिराजमान है। श्री द्वारकाधीश के निकट लड्डू गोपाल और श्री राधा भी विराजित है। श्री द्वारकाधीश मन्दिर को एक बार देख लेने पर भी मन्दिर से नजर ही नहीं हटती है। मंदिर में सुन्दर नक्काशी, कला और चित्रकारी देख कर ऐसा लगता है, जैसे हम द्वापरयुग में ही आ गये हो।

श्री द्वारकाधीश मंदिर के दर्शन का समय

6:30 am – 10:30 am

विश्राम घाट

मथुरा के आकर्षक स्थलों में एक विश्राम घाट द्वारिकाधीश मन्दिर से 30 मीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। मथुरा के 25 घाटों में यह प्रमुख घाट है। भगवान कृष्ण ने अपने मामा कंस का वध करने के बाद इस घाट पर विश्राम किया था, इसलिए इसे विश्रामघाट कहते है। इस घाट पर यमुना जी का अति सुंदर मंदिर स्थित है। यहाँ पर सुबह और शाम के समय यमुना जी की भव्य आरती का आध्यात्मिक और मनोरम द्रश्य देखने के लिए भक्तों की भारी भीड़ उपस्थित होती है।

शक्तिपीठ माँ चामुण्डा देवी मंदिर

मथुरा-वृन्दावन मार्ग पर स्थित माँ चामुण्डा देवी मंदिर, देवी सती 51 शक्तिपीठों में से एक है। इस स्थान पर देवी सती के केश गिरे थे। भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने कालिया नाग को मुक्ति देने के बाद यही पर माता चामुंडा के दर्शन किये थे। मां चामुण्डा नन्द बाबा की कुल देवी थी, सरस्वती कुंड में भगवान श्री कृष्ण का मुंडन कराने के बाद उन्होंने यहाँ पर माता चामुंडा की पूजा की थी। इस मंदिर में स्थित माँ चामुण्डा की प्रतिमा स्थापित नही की गई है, बल्कि वह स्वयं उत्पन हुई है।

माँ गायत्री तपोभूमि

माँ चामुण्डा देवी मंदिर के सामने महर्षि दुर्वासा की तपस्थली में गायत्री तपोभूमि स्थित है। गायत्री तपोभूमि विश्व का प्रथम गायत्री मंदिर है। पंडित श्री राम आचार्य ने 30.05.1953 से 22.06.1953 तक मात्र गंगाजल लेकर उपवास किया तथा विश्वमाता गायत्री की स्थापना एवं प्राण प्रतिष्ठा की। अनेक साधको द्वारा 24 लाख गायत्री मंत्र का जप, सवा लाख गायत्री चालीसा का पाठ, यजुर्वेद, गीता, रामायण का पाठ, गायत्री सहस्त्रनाम, गायत्री कवच, दुर्गा सप्तशती का पाठ, महामृत्युजय मंत्र का जप आदि महान कार्यो का संपादन यही हुआ।

गीता मंदिर (बिड़ला मंदिर)

बिरला परिवार के द्वारा नया बना गीता मंदिर मथुरा के पर्यटक स्थलों में से एक है। इस मंदिर में श्रीमद भगवद गीता के अध्याय को एक लट्ठे पर अंकित किया गया है। यहाँ पर भगवान श्री कृष्ण की विशाल प्रतिमा स्थापित है। देवालय के निकट एक लाल पत्थर के स्तंभ पर सम्पूर्ण गीता उत्कीर्ण की गई है। इस मंदिर की चित्रकारी और वास्तुकला भारतीय एवं पाश्चात्य शैली का समावेश है। विशेष अवसरों पर गीता मंदिर को विद्युत् साज सज्जा देखकर आनंद आ जाता है।

कंस का किला

भगवान कृष्ण के मामा, राक्षस राज कंस का महल यमुना नदी के तट पर स्थित है। इस किले में देखने लायक बाहर स्थित पुराना दर्शक कक्ष है। इस कक्ष में लाल बलुआ पत्थरों के बने कई विशाल स्तंभ हैं। यह खंडहर हो चुका किला अभी भी इसकी पूर्व भव्यता को दर्शाता हैं। प्राचीन समय में इस किले का उपयोग बाढ़ से बचाने के लिये किया जाता था।

राजकीय संग्रहालय मथुरा

मथुरा में जब दोपहर में सभी मंदिर बंद रहते है, तब इस समय मथुरा में घूमने लायक जगह मथुरा संग्रहालय है। इस संग्रहालय में महात्मा बुद्ध की प्रथम प्रतिमा मौजूद है। मथुरा में ब्रिटिश शासन के दौरान बुद्ध, महावीर, मौर्या, शुंगकाल, शक, उत्तर शुंगवंश, कुषाण काल, गुप्त काल, पूर्व और उत्तर मध्य काल की कई दुर्लभ कलाकृति, संस्कृति से सुसज्जित मूर्तियां निकली गई। इस संग्रहालय में मथुरा का हजारों वर्ष पुराना कुषाण, गुप्त और मौर्य काल की बेजोड़ कला का भंडार है। जो आदि काल के राजाओं के पहनावे, उनके शस्त्र, अस्त्र और जीवन शैली को दर्शाता हैं।

गोकर्णेश्वर महादेव मंदिर

मथुरा अपने चारों कोनो पर भगवान शिव के मंदिर स्थित है। पूर्व दिशा में गर्तेश्वर महादेव, पश्चिम दिशा में भूतेश्वर, दक्षिण दिशा में रंगेश्वर महादेव और उत्तर दिशा में गोकर्णेश्वर महादेव का अति प्राचीन मंदिर स्थित है। गाय के कान से जन्म होने के कारण ही वे गोकर्णनाथ कहलाए। मंदिर में स्थापित गोकर्ण महादेव जी की मूर्ति में उनका उल्टा हाथ अपने लिंग पर है तो दूसरा हाथ मन के ऊपर रखा हुआ है। अर्थात हर व्यक्ति को अपनी इन दो ही चीजों पर नियंत्रण रखना है, क्योंकि मनुष्य का मन  और काम यह दोनों ही बहुत गतिमान होते है।

गर्तेश्वर महादेव मंदिर

गर्तेश्वर महादेव मंदिर श्री कृष्ण जन्मभूमि के पीछे मल्लपुरा में स्थित है। यह मथुरा के प्राचीन मंदिरों में से एक है। भगवान गर्तेश्वर महादेव पूर्वी सीमा के क्षेत्रपाल के रूप में जाने जाते है।

तिलक(होली गेट) द्वार, भूतेश्वर महादेव मंदिर, श्री रंगेश्वर महादेव मंदिर, जय गुरुदेव मंदिर और जैन मंदिर आदि मथुरा के अन्य दर्शनीय स्थल है। जहाँ आप समय के अनुसार भेट दे सकते है।

मथुरा के प्रसिद्ध स्थानीय भोजन

मथुरा अपने मिठाइयों और दूध से बने व्यंजनों के लिए भी प्रसिद्ध है। यहाँ के पेड़े विश्व प्रसिद्ध है। इसके अलावा यहाँ की लस्सी, लच्छेदार रवड़ी, राजभोग और अन्य मिठाइयों का स्वाद आप जीवन भर भूल नहीं पाएंगे। यहाँ के लाजवाब चटपटे व्यंजनों में आपको कचौरी, जलेबी, पानीपुरी, समोसा, चाट और आलू टिक्की का स्वाद जरुर लेना चाहिए।

Exploring towns with such deep roots in our Indian Hindu mythology has always been fascinating. According to legend, the holy Lord Krishna was born in Mathura and raised in Vrindavan by his other parents, which is why both places have their own unique offerings in terms of Shree Krishna Leela Gatha.

Mathura is known as the centre of Brij Boomi (Krishna's territory), whereas Vrindavan is known as Krishna's playground, which regained its fame when Chaitanya Mahaprabhu rediscovered in his search for divine love traces all of Krishna's transcendent pastimes.

This structure's grandeur spellbinds one with its four minarets and mosaic plastering, as well as the magnificent sculptures." The front of the mosque is etched with 99 names of Allah in Persian script, according to residents.

Shahi Jama Masjid

Birla Temple/Gita Mandir:

Shri Bankey Bihari Temple.

After that , We chose to have lunch nearby after spending some time visiting the gorgeous market and spending some time around the temple, which is full of sweets (pede) in particular, as well as other fascinating things to carry with you.

We had our lunch in the hotel while having some rest we have a plan to visit the next place which is Nidhivan Vidhivan . which would be the last place to explore since we need to walk around the place. And ended up with this for day one

Nidhivan Vrindavan :

It is said that Lord Krishna performs his Ras Leela every single night here, and that anyone who dares to look over the site in the evening or even attempts to do so has lost their sight, voice, or worse, mental soundness. With a walk-around gated lane, you can get a close look at Nidhivan's trees, It is a must-see destination that attracts visitors from all over the world.

One interesting discovery was that the Tulsi plants located in the premises are in pairs, according to pandit ji.

Nidhivan Vrindavan

On the second day, we planned to go to Govardhan parikrama. It is said that Goverdhan hill, also known as Giriraj hill, is one of the most auspicious mountains in the world, and that all gopas and gopis circumnutated it to please Lord Krishan.

It's a 23 kilometer parikrama that took us 6 hours to finish due to the numerous sights we saw along the way, including

Govardhan Parikarma:

Along the parikrama, you might be surprised to see some devotees performing Dandavata Parikara (where they cover the entire parikrama by drawing marks on the ground while lying flat). I had the opportunity to ask them how long it would take them to get to the end, and he responded three weeks. He went on to say that this ritual is frequently conducted with milk, which is considered more sacred.

Sankarshan Kund:

The cow was drinking water from a pond when she was suddenly attacked by a tiger, according to legend. She did everything she could to keep the tiger away, but the animal was stubborn. Finally, she negotiated a deal with the tiger that she would return to be eaten after nursing her calf and bidding her master farewell, and the tiger agreed to let her go. She returned home and instructed her calf to drink milk till he was satisfied. His master Brahmin was touched by this and chose to offer himself as a sacrifice instead. All three of them eventually made their way back to the pond. it was at this moment that Lord Krishna himself appeared in front of them seeing Lord Krishna's tiger had a change of heart in this way all three of them were saved by the grace of Lord Krishna.

Punchari Ka Lautha Baba Temple:

It is located in Rajasthan, and the legend surrounding this sacred site is as follows: Shri Krishna's friend Lota baba was once playing hide and seek, and it was Krishna's time to find his pal. Lota baba took shelter in the puchari. Krishna set out to find his companion, but he was interrupted by his cowherd buddies who invited him to play with them. Krishna became so engrossed in his game with his cowherd friends that he forgot Lota baba was waiting for him. Lota baba dedicated himself to the Lord in a state of separation and waited for him for the rest of his life.

Uddhav Kund, Govardhan

You’ll find mention of this Kund in the epics, as this is the place where Uddhav Ji sympathized with Dvaraka’s residents. This kund is situated to the west of Kusum Sarovar Govardhan on the east end of Parikrama Marg.

Shyam Kund & Radha Kund:

According to the ancient epics, Lord Krishna's maternal uncle Kans commanded the demon to kill him. However, that demon took the appearance of a bull, and Lord Krishna easily defeated it; however, the cow family is respected in India, so Radha and the villagers claimed that Lord Krishna had committed a crime. As a result, in order to overcome the sin, he bathed in the holy water. Following this, Radha dug a route with her Kangan (bracelet) to allow the holy water to flow to her Kund, which is now known as Radha Kund and is considered the holiest of all holy locations. Lord Krishna's devotees believe that these Kunds have healing powers.

Day 2 was lots of excitement and walking yet, despite backpacking 21+ kilometres, we didn't feel exhausted, perhaps due to the enthusiasm of pilgrims around us who kept chanting the names of Radhe Radhe throughout our journey.

We began really early in the morning. We had planned to visit a couple well-known temples that had daytime closure times. Sri Krishna Balram Temple (ISKCON Vrindavan):

जब भी वीकेंड आता है, तो घूमने के लिए तमाम प्लानिंग पहले से होने लगती है. वहीं मॉनसून ( Monsson ) का महीना हो, तो घूमने का मजा ही कुछ और होता है. ऐसे में दिल्ली-एनसीआर ( Delhi-NCR ) में रहने वाले लोगों के लिए मथुरा-वृंदावन पहली चॉइस होती है. दिल्ली से मथुरा जाने में ज्यादा से ज्यादा दो से ढाई घंटे लगते हैं. ऐसे में यहां घूमने के लिए कई सारे दार्शनिक स्थल भी मिल जाते हैं और इसी बहाने आउटिंग भी हो जाती है. अगर आप भी इस बार वीकेंड पर मथुरा-वृंदावन ( Mathura-Vrindavan ) जाने का प्लान बना रहे हैं, तो यहां जानिए वो ​तरीके जिससे इस ट्रिप के दौरान आपके पैसे भी कम खर्च होंगे और आप दो दिनों में यहां की ज्यादातर खास जगहों का आनंद ले सकेंगे.

चुनिंदा जगहों को चुनें

दिल्ली से मथुरा तक आप अपनी गाड़ी, बस या ट्रेन से जा सकते हैं. यहां ठहरने के लिए भी आपको बहुत ज्यादा पैसे खर्च करने की जरूरत नहीं पड़ती. 800 से लेकर 3000 रुपए तक में आपको होटल आसानी से मिल जाएंगे. आप अपने बजट के अनुसार इनका चुनाव कर सकते हैं. मथुरा और वृंदावन में यूं तो गली गली में खूबसूरत मंदिर बने हैं, लेकिन दो दिनों में इतना सब कुछ घूम पाना मुमकिन नहीं हो पाता. ऐसे में आप वहां की चुनिंदा जगहों को चुनें और वहां घूमें.

स्थानीय व्हीकल से घूमें

मथुरा और वृंदावन की सैर के लिए अपने व्हीकल की बजाय आप वहां के स्थानीय व्हीकल से घूमें. मथुरा-वृंदावन में गलियां काफी संकरी होने के कारण वहां गाड़ी ले जाना कई बार बहुत मुश्किल हो जाता है. नई जगह का आइडिया न होने से गाड़ी जाम में फंस सकती है या आप रास्ता भटक सकते हैं, इससे आपका समय बर्बाद होता है. बेहतर है कि इसकी बजाय आप वहां का स्थानीय वाहन लेकर घूमें. इससे आपका समय भी बचेगा और पैसों की बचत भी होगी. मथुरा-वृंदावन में आपको घुमाने के लिए ईरिक्शा और टेम्पो आसानी से मिल जाएंगे.

प्रेम मंदिर और इस्कॉन मंदिर

बांके बिहारी से थोड़ी ही दूरी पर प्रेम मंदिर और इस्कॉन मंदिर बने हैं. प्रेम मंदिर जगद्गुरु श्री कृपालुजी महाराज ने बनवाया था. ये बेहद आकर्षक मंदिर है. यहां कई तरह की झांकियां भी हैं. रात के समय इस मंदिर की खूबसूरती देखने लायक होती है. वहीं इस्कॉन मंदिर भी प्रेम मंदिर जाते समय रास्ते में ही पड़ता है. ये भी काफी बड़ा मंदिर है. यहां जाकर भी आपको काफी अच्छा महसूस होगा. इसी रोड पर आगे चलकर माता वैष्णो देवी मंदिर भी पड़ता है. आप चाहें तो उस मंदिर के भी दर्शन कर सकते हैं.

रंगनाथ मंदिर

वृंदावन-मथुरा मार्ग पर श्री रंगनाथ जी का मंदिर स्थित है. ये मंदिर साउथ इंडियन शैली में बना है. यहां भगवान श्रीकृष्ण दूल्हे के तौर पर विराजमान हैं. इसे उत्तर भारत के सबसे बड़े मंदिरों में से एक माना जाता है.

History & Story

Vrindavan is the abode of the love of Srimati Radharani and Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

The story and lilas of Krishna are known to all, but only in parts and pieces to the majority of masses. I will connect it on basic terms for people who are unaware.

So, as most of you might be knowing, Krishna was born in Mathura and from there, Vasudev Ji (his father) crossed the Yamuna and left the baby Krishna at his friend Nanda Baba's home in Gokul. Krishna was lovingly raised by Nanda Baba and Yashoda Maiya. When He became a bit grown up, He directed the information to Kans that it is nobody other than Him who is destined to kill Kans.

Upon hearing this, evil Kans burned the entire village of Gokul in a hope to burn Krishna, and eventually kill his death. Krishna has already made His plans, and before the army of Kans were about to burn Gokul, Krishna convinced Nanda Baba to go and take shelter at Vrishbanu Baba's village Barsana. It was all a pastime of Krishna to spend time with Srimati Radharani in Barsana and perform His divine lila's to teach the world prema-bhakti and reclaim the conditioned souls to go back home, back to godhead Goloka Vrindavan.

From there, Vrishabhanu Baba gifted the Gokulvasis the holy land of Vrindavan, which became the place where Radharani and Krishna perform the nitya transcendental lilas. Vrindavan attracts all sincere seekers and colours them with the inner confidential love of prema-bhakti that is extremely rare and not even accessible to yogis, siddha saints, tapasvis and even demi-gods like Shiva Ji and Brahma Ji.

In this age of Kali, the confidential aspects of vraja-prema rasa can be easily understood by chanting Hare Krishna Mahamantra loudly with full engagement, exactly how a child cries for his mother. • It is said in Samudra Shastra that anybody who does penance and tapasya for thousands of lifetimes gets the chance to take a step in Vrindavan. Srila Rupa Goswami mentions in Mathura Mahatmya that with just a step in Vrindavan, the sins accumulated in thousands of lifetimes is destroyed within a second.
• There are so many scriptures glorifying the exalted position of Vrindavan (which as stated in these scriptures itself, is very difficult for even them to glorify it properly).

How to travel cheaply and conveniently in Vrindavan?

• The most preferred mode of commute in Vrindavan is e-rickshaws . They are cheap, eco-friendly and zoom in any small lanes of Vraj quickly . They will charge around 10-40 rupees unless very far.
• Do not give them any amount above 60-70 bucks for any place as once they sense that you are coming for the first time, they will quote big astronomical amounts.
• Also, many devotees prefer to walk as all the major and popular temples like ISKCON, Prem Mandir, Radha Damodar, Radha Shyamsundar, Nidhivan, Meerabai Temple, Radha Raman, Gopeshwar Mahadev, Radha Madan Mohan, Radha Govinda etc. are located in around 2 km radius .

• Female devotees just enjoy shopping here. For men and women's wear, Gangotri at Loi Bazar is quite popular.

Bike for rent in Vrindavan

If you are just a couple of people, or in multiples of 2, you can rent a bike from Srila Prabhupada Emporium at Hare Krishna Residency, just near to the Bonraj Maharaj College and on the adjacent side of Main Gate of ISKCON Temple. They will take a security deposit of 1000 rupees, and will charge 500 rupees for Activa scooter and bikes. The advantage you will get is that you can go to any place around Vrindavan easily. Also, you can quickly visit Mathura, Barsana, Govardhan, Radha Kund easily. If you are good with using Google Maps, I would highly advise you to rent a bike or scooter to have a further great experience.

Though, please note that there are some instances of bike theft in Vrindavan, hence make sure that you park it securely or at parking only. Don't leave the bike at any random place for a longer period of time.

Must-do activities in Vrindavan

I would highly suggest any devotee or tourist coming to Vrindavan to make sure to participate in the below mentioned devotional activities.

Though every step in Vrindavan destroys sins of thousands of lifetimes and also bestows the result of 100 Ashwamedha Yagyas, what Rasika Vaishnavas teach is to be a seeker of vraja-prema bhakti .

Yamuna Boat Ride

Visit Kesi Ghat and take a boat ride. There are many boats there and they usually charge an arbitrary amount once they get a feel that you are a tourist so do not forget to negotiate with them. The ideal price would be 150 or 200 bucks for a 20-30 minute ride duration. It is a wonderful experience to witness the ghat from the waters of Yamuna Maharani as Keshi Ghat retains that traditional vintage vibe. If possible, do take Yamuna Snan or take achman if you are unable to take snan (bath).

Kirtan at ISKCON

There is a fully charged up enthusiastic kirtan at ISKCON Krishna Balarama Mandir 24 hours a day. It has been going on since 1986. It was re-established by Sripad Aindra Prabhu . You just step inside the temple hall and automatically get engaged in the Harinam Sankirtana. This is the final conclusion of all Vedic Scriptures. Harer Nama Eva Kevalam i.e. in Kali Yuga, there is nothing except Harinam for the deliverance of fallen conditioned souls.

Banke Bihari Darshan

The darshan at Banke Bihari Mandir is a tad different as the curtain opens and closes every alternate 10-30 seconds. The deities of Banke Bihari Ji just create a powerful impression on the viewer. You will witness a different experience here.

Yamuna Arti

Evening arti at Keshi Ghat on banks of Yamuna Maharani is flocked by devotees worldwide. There is a grand arti and you just get engaged in the festivities there. It starts at 5.30 and sometimes at 6 PM. Though, be careful not to wear spectacles there as monkeys can snatch it very easily. Also, be aware not to speak to anyone local or dicey here and do keep your mobile and wallet safe.

Chant Hare Krishna Mahamantra internally

While in Vrindavan, keep chanting Hare Krishna Hare Krishna | Krishna Krishna Hare Hare | Hare Rama Hare Rama | Rama Rama Hare Hare on your lips. Vrindavan Parikrama

A lot of devotees do Vrindavan Parikrama around Vrindavan (Parikrama means walking around in circle i.e starting and ending at the same place). It is a 13 KM walk around the circumference of Vrindavan Dham. By circumambulating Vrindavan once, you get the result of circumambulating all the temples in Vrindavan. It is said that all offences are destroyed by doing Vrindavan Parikrama.

One should keep chanting Hare Krishna Mahamantra while doing Vrindavan Parikrama and keep praying for a direction to vraja-prema-bhakti . A lot of devotees do parikrama on Ekadashi.

The natural scenic beauty on the 13 KM path is something that will linger in your memory for a long time and will make you very blissful internally. A good part of Vrindavan Parikrama route is untouched by modern buildings and retains that traditional feel with lots of greenery, peacocks, cows and parrots around.

Special Festivals celebrated in Vrindavan

Holi is celebrated with a lot of vigour and excitement. It is popularly celebrated at Banke Bihari Mandir, Radha Ramana Mandir, Radha Vallabha Mandir and around Loi Bazar with more enthusiasm. Thought the entire 13 KM parikrama marg is full of colours and it is no less than a film set. You love being here. It is one of the highlights of Vrindavan and devotees worldwide come here to attend Holi.

Janmashtami

Janmashtami sees a huge rush of pilgrims, and especially from nearby regions of Delhi and Rajashtan. All the mandirs are decorated no less than royal palaces and there is an extreme amount of fervours, glitz and euphoria surrounding the festivities of Janmashtami. A lot of religious ceremonies including kirtan, prasad distribution, yagyas happens at every other corner in Vrindavan. It is a joy to be here in Janmashtami and visit the temples here.

Radhastami is celebrated with more enthusiasm than Janamashtami as it is the appearance day of Queen of Vrindavan, Srimati Radharani, the personification of love of Sri Krishna. Everywhere, you see a lot of happiness, pujas and big feasts going on.

Kartik (every year)

Kartik usually falls from mid-October and mid-November every year. Kartik is also known as Damodar Mas. It is the month of Radharani and it bestows 1000 times more bhakti than any normal time of the year. This Kartik period is when Vrindavan is crowded to the core and it is almost impossible to find hotels for overnight stay. Thousands of devotees visit here on a daily basis and it is full of buzz and super high enthusiasm during Kartik. One must make it a point to come to Vrindavan every Kartik regardless of anything. it bestows thousands of times spiritual credits and sincere seekers really get direction and answers quickly in the quest of vraja-prema bhakti .

Important festivals celebrated in Kartik are Sharad Purnima, Radha Kund Appearance Day, Govardhan Puja, Diwali, Damodar Lila, Tulsi Vivah etc.

Purusottam (every 2.5 years)

Purusottam, also know as mal mas is considered as the top-most month to leave all work and just meditate on the Purustoamm Lord, or Sri Krishna with full heart and soul. It bestows 100000 times the benefit of doing bhakti on any other day. Thousands of devotees do Vrindavan Parikrama every day during Purusottam Maas. Even stepping for just a few hours in Vridnvaan during Pusursottam bestows results of millions of lifetimes of bhakti and it can be immediately felt internally by the sincere devotees.

Barsana is located 45 km north-west of Vrindavan and is famously known as the residence of Srimati Radharani, Queen of Vrindavan.

Radha Kund is situated at a distance of 21 KM from Vrindavan. Radha Kund and Shyam Kund are considered as the two eyes of Govardhan Hill, which is shaped like a peacock (You can just search Govardhan Hill on Google Maps and see the shape of Govardhan Mountain which resembles a peacock from the top).

The popular Govardhan Hill, also known as Giriraj Ji is located 22 KM from Vrindavan. A lof devotees perform the 21 KM Govardhan parikrama on feet, which usually takes 4-8 hours. It is a very pleasurable and nice experience to sit approaching Giriraj Ji and chanting your mala here.

Gokul is at a distance of 20 KM from Vrindavan. It is the place where Krishna spent his early childhood in Yashoda Maiya and Nanda Baba's care. The place where Krishna showed the entire brahmanda (universe) in his mouth to Yashoda Maiya is located here. It was in Gokul that Krishna used to steal butter along with His sakha friends from Yashoda Maiya and gopis kitchen.

Bhandirvan is located 21 KM from Vrindavan and is the place where Radharani and Krishna got married. Though this marriage was not in front of the entire world and was extremely confidential. Vamshivat is hardly 5-minute drive from the main temple at Bhandirvan.

Raval is about 20 KM from Vrindavan and is the place where Radharani was born. The main mandir is very less visited by and the darshan of little Radharani is a treat for the devotees. Also, there is a garden just opposite the main temple where two trees are together wrapped in each other, one being black and the other being white in colour. Locals say that the white tree represents Radharani and the black one depicts Krishna.

Nandgaon is located at a distance of 48 KM from Vrindavan. It about 6 KM from Barsana. Krishna lived here after the Gokulvasis came to take shelter at Barsana as Gokul was burnt by Kans. It was all a plan by Krishna so as to arrange meetings with Radharani regularly. Later, Vrisbhanu Baba gifted the land of Vrindavan to Gokulvasis to establish their new village.

At a distance of 4 km from Mathura Junction Railway Station, Dwarkadheesh Temple is one of the oldest and largest temples in Mathura . It is located near the banks of river Yamuna, close to Vishram Ghat and Gatashram Tila. It is one of the top places to visit in Mathura and also one of the most visited Mathura temples. Sri Krishna Janma Bhoomi also known as Katra Keshav Dev temple, is the actual birthplace of Lord Krishna. A bigger temple was constructed to replace the old temple during the reign of Emperor Chandragupta Vikramaditya (4th century CE). This temple used to one of the grandest temples in India until it was destroyed by Ghazni Mahmud in 11th century. If you are keen to take a break and go on a short spiritual sojourn, Mathura and Vrindavan can be your go-to place. And, to ensure that your trip goes smoothly, here is a guide to planning a short Mathura Vrindavan trip.

Places to visit

Since the places of interest are not that far from each other, you can cover the attractions in just a day. But if you have time to spare, do it at your own pace. The best places to visit in Vrindavan will be Seva Kunj and Nidhuban, Shahji Temple, Govardhan Hill, and Banke Bihari Temple. Some of the must-visit places in Mathura are Krishna Janma Bhoomi Mandir, Kusum Sarovar, Prem Mandir, Jama Masjid, and Dwarkadhish Temple.

Things to do

Mathura and Vrindavan attract hordes of devotees and curious travellers every year. When you are on a trip to these ancient cities, try to indulge in various exciting things that you will be able to experience only in Mathura and Vrindavan, besides exploring the temples. When you are in Mathura, capture the beauty of diyas floating and illuminating the Yamuna River, or go swimming in the Kusum Sarovar, which is believed to be the meeting point of Radha Krishna. The best time to visit Mathura and Vrindavan is between the months of October and February. During this time of the year, the weather here is pleasant, while the region experiences extreme weather with temperatures swelling up to 40 degree Celsius the rest of the year.

Where to stay?

Finding accommodation here shouldn’t be a task. You can find a lot of hotels, homestays, and even dharamshalas to spend your days, both in Vrindavan and Mathura. Note that since temples are prime attractions here, you will easily find accommodation options near those areas, and they are decent places to stay.

It's suggested that you opt to stay in Vrindavan if you are keen to have a magical experience, and you might also likely end up spending most of the time in Vrindavan.

How to reach?

Mathura and Vrindavan are around 150 and 170 km south of the capital city of Delhi. Reaching these holy cities will not be a hassle for you. You can easily drive to any of these places; then, there are buses that leave for Mathura every 10 or 15 minutes from Delhi's Interstate bus terminal.

Further, you can also reach Mathura via train. You will easily find a number of trains that will ferry you to Mathura junction at a very affordable fare. Once you reach Mathura, you can travel to Vrindavan via autos, or cabs.
