Is Evolution Travel Legit? (SCAM Or NOT)

Evolution Travel is a travel company that offers various travel services and products, including cruises, resorts, and vacation packages.

Since 2000, Evolution Travel has been operating online, making it the foremost travel agency and tour operator to work on the cloud, separate from other web-based software.

But is it safe to book a trip using Evolution Travel?

That’s what I will be covering in this article. I will be talking about the working and the different features of Evolution Travel. Besides its legitimacy, I will discuss its policies to help you plan your travel better.

Is Evolution Travel A Scam?

Is Evolution Travel Legit?

Evolution Travel is NOT a scam. It is a registered travel agency and a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), a trade association representing airlines worldwide.

Evolution Travel’s website allows booking travel-related services like flights and vacation packages. They have been in business since 2000 and have grown gradually.

Users can search for and select travel options based on their preferences. The website provides information on pricing, availability, and itinerary details. There are two Evolution Travel agencies, one in Miami, and the other in Malta, Europe.

Once the user selects their travel options, they can make a reservation and pay through the website’s secure payment gateway. The website provides customer support through a contact form, email, or phone number.

The website is user-friendly, and booking with Evolution Travel has always been hassle-free for me.

How Does Evolution Travel Work?

Evolution Travel’s website operates as an online platform that offers a range of travel services to customers.

The website is designed to help customers book their trips easily without much uncertainty. Evolution Travel is an intermediary between travelers and travel suppliers.

Here is a general overview of how it works.

1. Search for travel options

The website allows users to search for travel options, including flights, hotels, car rentals, and vacation packages, based on their preferred travel dates, destinations, and other criteria.

They offer two main types of services – leisure travel and corporate travel . Leisure travel involves helping individuals or groups plan vacations, honeymoons, family reunions, and other personal trips.

Corporate travel involves assisting companies with arranging business travel for their employees, including flights, hotels, and car rentals.

2. Compare options

Once the user has entered their travel information, it displays a list of available options from various travel providers. Users can compare prices, availability, and other details to make an informed decision.

3. Book travel services

Users can book their chosen travel services directly through the website. The website provides a secure payment gateway to facilitate online payments. Users can receive confirmation of their bookings via email or through their online account.

4. Access customer support

Evolution Travel’s website also provides customer support through various channels, including email, phone, and a contact form . Customers can contact the company with any questions, concerns, or issues related to their bookings.

I have had a great experience with their customer service. I got to talk to an actual human 🧔‍♂️ rather than a robot 🤖, and that’s good enough for me.

How To Book Your Trip Using Evolution Travel?

It’s straightforward and fully secure to make a reservation for your journey through Evolution Travel. Once you’ve submitted an inquiry, your designated online travel consultant will contact you.

The consultant will contact you by email or telephone based on your preference. They will look to personalize your quote and proceed with the booking if the offer suits you.

You will then receive an email with details and the appropriate payment methods. Once the payment balance has been received, you will be sent your travel documents via email or first-class post, usually on the Tuesday preceding your departure.

The records are sent at least one day before your departure for last-minute offers.

There are different methods you can choose for payment as per your preference. You can pay through the following options available.

What Is The Cancellation Policy Of Evolution Travel?

It is possible to change or cancel a reservation by sending an email request. Your consultant will check the requirements and, if necessary, will inform you of any additional costs.

To cancel a reservation, you must send your cancellation request to your travel consultant before departure. You may also send them a fax stating the reasons for your cancellation.

A penalty fee might be charged according to the promoter’s general conditions of sale. If you need to change a reservation, contact the concerned consultant via email.

After sending a request for information, the consultant will contact you by email or telephone to customize your trip according to your specific needs and to complete your reservation again.

You will then receive your travel contract containing all your booking details and the general conditions of sale. Some additional charges may be applied in some cases, depending on your preference.

How To Contact Evolution Travel?

Evolution Travel USA Inc. is located in Florida, United States of America. You may reach them by post at the address 1000 5th Street, Suite #200, Miami Beach, Florida, USA.

Here is a table displaying the contact information of Evolution Travel and the different methods by which you can connect to them.

Evolution Travel Review: A Travel MLM Scam or Legit?

Links & ads you may click on this blog pay the bills & keep this site free for you. Thanks for supporting!

For anyone who has planned their dream vacation, you probably know how stressful it can be and requires a lot of work deciding on the best travel package. But did you know you can also make money selling travel packages? You probably already did which is why you are searching Evolution Travel reviews to see if this is a legit way to make money. This Evolution Travel review will determine if you can really make money with this opportunity. Don’t dare join until you have read this review!

What is Evolution Travel?

EvolutionTravel.com is a travel MLM founded by David McCovy in 2015. They are known as a “cloud-based travel agency”. Their headquarters is based in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Evolution Travel Product Line

There isn't really a product line for Evolution Travel. They don't have any products themselves. All they're selling is travel discounts, coupons, and packages on things like:

  • Tickets to concerts, sporting events, theme parks, etc.

How Much Does It Cost To Be An Evolution Professional Travel Agent?

With Evolution Travel, you pay a  one-time fee plus a monthly fee .

You pay $30 to join and become a Professional Travel Agent. You also need to pay a $69.95 monthly administration fee. Professional Travel Agents (PTAs) get the following:

  • 90% commission on travel sales (PTAs get 80%, and their recruiter gets 10%)
  • A customizable travel website
  • Direct access to worldwide vendors
  • Travel training
  • Residual income
  • A discount directory that includes 20-60% off of travel services and experiences
  • Tax benefits
  • Team building

Once you get your customizable website and training, you are in the travel business!

Evolution Travel Compensation Plan

Evolution Travel's compensation plan is quite detailed and complex, but here is a breakdown of each level and the commission associated with each level.

  • Consultant/PTA, with the benefits listed above
  • Executive Consultant, who has sold 3 PTA memberships: 13% residual commissions
  • Bronze Consultant, who has sold 6 PTA memberships: 14% residual commissions
  • Silver Consultant, who has sold 9 PTA memberships: 20% residual commissions
  • Gold Consultant, who has sold 15 PTA memberships, and has 3 silver consultants in at least 3 legs of business: 12% residual commissions
  • Platinum Consultant, who has at least 300 active PTA memberships, with no more than 1/3 of the total coming from any particular lineage: 30% residual commissions
  • 1 Star Platinum Consultant, who has at least 500 active PTA memberships, with no more than 1/3 of the total coming from any particular lineage: 30% residual commissions
  • 2 Star Platinum Consultant, who has at least 1,500 active PTA memberships, with no more than 1/3 of the total coming from any particular lineage: 30% residual commissions
  • 3 Star Platinum Consultant, who has at least 3,000 active PTA memberships, with no more than 1/3 of the total coming from any particular lineage: 11% residual commissions
  • And so on up to 8 Star Platinum Consultants, with 100,000 PTA memberships and a monthly bonus of $100,000.

Like with most MLMs, there are so many levels and different commission structures for each level, so if this makes your head spin, I don’t blame you! Fortunately, there are businesses with straightforward compensation such as Wealthy Affiliate . They can help you start an online business where you will be able to work with major companies like Amazon and eBay that pay you in a nice straightforward manner.

But if you're not looking for a business opportunity at the moment and just want to make some extra side income, you may want to try free sites like SurveyJunkie.com and Swagbucks.com .

How Much Money Can Evolution Travel Agents Make?

Unfortunately, Evolution Travel doesn't post an Income Disclosure Statement. This immediately set off alarms in my mind. Why aren't they being clear regarding how much you can earn as other MLMs do? How much you can earn is anyone's guess really.

What We Like About Evolution Travel

Let’s have a look at some of the things we like about this company.

Good Partnerships

Although Evolution Travel is relatively new and only founded in 2015, they have partnered with a very experienced travel company known as Archer Travel Group who were founded in 1952. So it’s a positive sign that they are partnered with one of the pioneers in the travel industry. The founder of Evolution Travel, Mr. McCovy also has quite a bit of experience under his belt by founding two other MLMs; namely Paycation (now known as TraVerus Global ) and 5LINX .

Good BBB Rating

If you put a lot of faith into these ratings, you should be pleased to know that they have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau at the time of writing this review.

Evolution Travel Complaints

Let’s get into some of the complaints we discovered about Evolution Travel and we will leave it up to you to decide if these are deal breakers.

Evolution Travel is almost exactly the same system, offer, and structure as Paycation, which collapsed in 2014, the year before Evolution Travel was born. A lot of people lost money on Paycation, paying their monthly fees without earning any commissions or rewards. David McCovy's involvement in both systems might not be a good sign for the future of Evolution Travel.

Time To Recruit!

The undisguised emphasis on recruitment, with just the barest nod to actual travel-related training or services, makes it appear as an MLM scheme. For those who knowingly want to join an MLM scheme, it's one thing, but for those who sincerely want a career in the travel industry, it must be a disappointment. The FTC has warned that companies that focus on recruiting mainly are likely to be pyramid schemes.

Recruiting people to earn money isn’t for everyone. So, If you're looking for a business opportunity that doesn't require you to recruit people, you can try sites like Wealthy Affiliate . If you're just looking to make some extra income, you can also try sites like SurveyJunkie.com or Swagbucks.com . There is no recruiting involved for those sites.

No Income Disclosure Statement

While the 80% commissions sound fantastic, remember that Evolution Travel is itself an affiliate and the sales arm of the Archer Travel Group . Commissions are based on the percentage of profit after Archer has paid Evolution, and those margins may be very thin. Because they don't disclose package prices or income statements, it's difficult to assess how much travel commissions might actually be.

It’s difficult to join anything when you have no clue of the earning potential. Fortunately, there are other alternatives out there like My Best Work At Home Recommendation where you know exactly what you will earn with a straightforward commission plan.

You can also earn a side income with straightforward payment terms with sites like SurveyJunkie.com and Swagbucks.com .

Is Evolution Travel Legit or a Scam?

Evolution Travel is bordering on being a pyramid scheme because their main focus seems to be on recruiting. So personally I would avoid it.

And for those who want a legitimate travel career, Evolution Travel is probably not the best option for you either. It doesn't seem to really help you build a career in the travel and hospitality industry,  instead it will push you to focus on selling more memberships to more people in order to recover your investment.

If you're looking for a business opportunity that will enable you to make a full-time or part-time income online, you might want to try My Best Work At Home Recommendation . So, if you're interested in travel or any niche for that matter, they will teach you how to create an online business and its free to get started.

So, there you have my opinion on Evolution Travel. If you have any experience using Evolution Travel or want to share your thoughts, please feel free to leave a comment below.

Until next time,

Eddy with a Y

14 thoughts on “Evolution Travel Review: A Travel MLM Scam or Legit?”

I have been with Evolution/Archer since March 2023, having just left a 60k+ a year paycheck due to burn out. I love travel and I really love all the support and training I’ve received. I am a people person and I enjoy helping others learn and grow. While I did decide to get into the “optional” side of it by building and mentoring a team, we are first and foremost, travel agents. One of my teammates that I mentor just booked a 4-stateroom cruise for a week on land and a week on cruise in Alaska. She is less than a month into being a travel agent and the booking totaled almost $22k! Her commission check will be about $3,130. As her mentor, I will be paid about $391. But it’s not the pay that keeps me going as a mentor, it’s about the people on my team that motivate me to connect and train them. And even when I earn the 10%, I am still booking travel as well! I love the perks, the structure and the comradery. MLM? I don’t know. Scam? Definitely not!

I sat through 2 of these webinars delivered by 2 different agents and was very interested in what I saw. The deterrent was the monthly fee since my current part time income is so low and I need the money for food. I’m curious what kind of experience you’ve had earning money up to this point? Is it viable as a source of consistent income and is easy or difficult getting clients? I’m still considering signing up, but I’m on the fence until I know if I will be wasting my time or actually generating real income like I would at a regular job. I like the looks of the training and support they claim to give, but is it true and is the training detailed enough to hit the ground running?

I Love working for them. Although I don’t have a team yet I have had very good conversations. Yes there is 69.95 you can write it off at the end of the year. Keep in mind for E&O you would pay Alot more.If you get trainings on your own you have to pay, plus a website, marketing templates, Archer provides all this with that fee.Tons of support. If you stay consistent it is totally worth it 👌

I just jpined and have burned by MLMs in the past. But though we can recruit a team and get paid when they join we make nothing off anyo e they pick to build their own team and must mentor ours closely. I was with Wealthy Affiliate but dont have time to write continually to push Amazon products for pennies so webshall see how it goes!

I wish you success in whatever venture you decide on. Affiliate marketing isn’t about pushing amazon products. Amazon is one of many affiliate programs to promote. WA recommends it for beginners because they tend to accept everyone and easy to get into. But there are affiliate companies and niches that pay dollars and hundreds of it. So don’t limit yourself.

They told me it’s 69.95 since it’s the middle of summer. And that it’ll never be this low again. But now I’ve seen a bunch of people say that the 69.95 investment has been an option through many Zoom calls before. Don’t trust them.

The $69.95 is a promotional price offered by the company. The usual enrollment fee is $299.00. Evolution is choosing to continue to offer enrollment for the promotional price of $69.95 as a courtesy to anyone signing up. If they choose to continue to offer that price forever, that is their choice. That doesn’t make it a scam.

While it seems fishy with the recruitment part you don’t have to do that. It’s not a “full time job” more of a side thing to pick up extra money. I don’t recruit and have made decent commissions on just booking.

I am a full time entrepreneur and I’m also a beginner it’s the summer time I’m from Louisiana and people are ready to vacation due to the pandemic

I found a posting for a travel agent role on LinkedIn, since I’m looking for another remote job. What I’ve got now is nowhere near enough to pay the bills. I found this through a search on Archer Travel Group, probably an offshoot of Evolution. They sent me a prerecorded webinar on LinkedIn, and after reading this, I won’t be moving forward with them. I’m not gonna make a living doing my customers like this.

Sat through the hour and a half zoom call to only be told at the end how much it costs a month to continue working for them. I am extremely disappointed in them.

If you ever need help planning travel DONT use this agent. They are pleasant with receiving your money but give you complications out this world when we are greatly impacted and can’t travel!!! While Julie not to respond by email or phone is very unprofessional

I’m sorry you had that experience with one of the agents. There are competent agents willing to assist you with your needs.

for international agents ( outside the US ) is a total scam, I joined and it was the worst experience

Dassault 6x

The Big Idea: Next-Gen Piloting Is Here

The fast-approaching era of electric aircraft will transform intracity and regional travel for passengers, but it will also fundamentally change the pilot experience. The new crop of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) craft are smaller than most helicopters and conventional planes, but also potentially more complex, with multiple rotors that tilt for hovering and forward motion. That’s supplemented by the need to constantly assess flight conditions in what promise to be busy urban airways, all while managing prop and rotor pitch and adjusting ailerons, rudders, elevators, and landing gear.

How does one lessen the pilot’s burden without compromising safety? The answer, eVTOL leaders Archer and Joby agree, involves unified flight controls, adopted from military programs such as the F-35B fighter jet. The fly-by-wire systems used by Dassault, Gulfstream, and Bombardier operate on the same principle, with a flight control computer (FCC) linked to a multi-servo digital autopilot. Unlike mechanical systems of older aircraft, where a pilot controls every aspect of flight, here the computer takes over once the pilot inputs commands.

The next generation of unified flight controls are significantly faster, smaller, and more sophisticated. BAE Systems has designed controls that relay pilot input every few milliseconds but are 40 percent more compact than five years ago. This customized technology is designed to be intuitive for fixed-wing or rotorcraft pilots and far more simplified.

Joby’s inceptor, or the stick that controls speed, for example, re-centers after an input, maintaining the airspeed set by the pilot—similar to cruise control in a car. “If I want to go to 100 knots, I’ll kind of peg the stick,” says Joby’s Greg Bowles. “The number reaches 100, you let go, and it’s going to stay at 100. If you continue to accelerate, it’ll get to a maximum safe top speed and stop.”

“The pilot doesn’t control power,” adds Archer’s Brian Gump. “The pilot commands acceleration or deceleration, a climb or descent, or a heading change, and the FCCs allocate power as required to meet that command.” Archer’s controls include two sticks: The left regulates velocity while the right handles vertical speed and direction.

These advances signal a new chapter for not only the eVTOL world, but also how pilots train. Flight is not so automated that the aviator is entirely removed from the equation—the pilot still dictates the direction and navigation of the aircraft’s path—but it is a fundamentally new way of flying. Not exactly a magic carpet, but closer than aviation has ever been before.

Light Jet: Textron Aviation Citation CJ3 Gen2

evolution travel llc

While it was no surprise that Textron Aviation would sequence through one of its most successful models for next-gen treatment, the Citation CJ3 Gen2 update still rocks, making it our pick for best of the super-midsize fleet. Inside, the revised CJ3 looks and feels like a bigger jet than its predecessor, with an interior that its engineers are justifiably proud of—from the articulating seats to the use of eco-friendly materials throughout. On the flight deck, the updated Garmin G3000, coupled with the new GDL 60 data link, transforms the pilot’s suite into a connected cockpit. The jet has a max cruise of 416 knots true airspeed, a max range of 2,040 nautical miles, and a landing distance of 2,770 feet. $10.99 million

Turboprop: Piper M700 Fury

evolution travel llc

Piper has pumped its new flagship turboprop up a notch in power, giving the M700 the added range and climb rate—and just enough speed—that it needs to really compete in the category. The Pratt & Whitney PT6A-52 moves the Fury to 700 shaft hp, clicking up to a top speed (at 28,000 feet) of 301 knots true airspeed. Two vastly improved stats: The climb rate jumps to 3,432 feet per minute, while takeoff distance has been dialed back to 1,994 feet. That means the M700 Fury closes the gap with its faster competitors—the Epic E1000 GX and the Daher TBM 960—for up to a million bucks less, making it perfect for a couple or young family of four. From $4.1 million

Large Cabin: Dassault 6x

DA00048030__

Dassault recently delivered its first long-range 6X , completing a circle that began after the French aerospace firm cancelled its four-year-old 5X program in 2017 without delivering any aircraft. It stretched the 5X’s fuselage by 20 feet to get the 6X, creating its debut wide-body configuration, which has a wider floor and taller cabin than its competitors. Despite the extra girth, the 6X’s stats are impressive: 5,500-nautical-mile range (delivering nonstop flights from Los Angeles to Geneva or São Paulo to London), 16-passenger capacity, and maximum speed of Mach 0.9. The customizable cabin, divided into three zones, has 30 extra-large windows, a full galley, and features such as a low-altitude pressurization system and circadian-rhythm lights to mitigate jet lag. Fly-by-wire controls and an advanced situational-awareness system called Falcon Eye are the cockpit differentiators. Plus, the 6X has paved the way for an even larger wide-body, the ultra-long-range 10X, scheduled for delivery in 2027. $53 million

Enhanced Flight Deck: Cirrus SR Series G7

evolution travel llc

From the outside, the three new Cirrus SR G7s look the same as the G6 line, albeit with striking new paint schemes. But the flight deck holds the big reveal, which is the company’s strategy to fully align its piston series (from the SR20 on up) to its SF50 Vision Jet by offering a remarkably similar piloting experience, with an intuitive interface that simplifies the learning curve. The idea is that, when owners are ready to trade up to the Vision Jet, they’ll be prepared. The new avionics are the brains behind a host of piston-specific tools that pilots will use to ease workload, navigate on the ground and in the air, and enhance comfort along with safety. With context-driven taxi displays, automatic tank switching, and flap-overspeed protection, the Cirrus SR G7 operates more like a jet—and thanks to new overhead appointments and thoughtfully updated panels, lighting, USB-C power ports, and dedicated storage throughout, even the passengers will feel the difference. Prices range from $634,900 for the SR20 model to $969,900 for the SR22 Turbo model.

Helicopter: Leonardo AW09

The AW09 is a next-generation, high performance, single-engine helicopter offering the built-in versatility to tackle multiple missions. Capable of carrying up to eight passengers, the AW09 delivers next-generation technology and safety, allowing operators to go further and do more. It is optimised for numerous roles, including passenger transport, utility, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and security missions.

This single-turbine helicopter is moving through flight tests, with projected certification in 2025. It has been a long wait since the initial development by Marenco Swisshelicopter began in 2009. The project was on and off until 2020, when Leonardo acquired Marenco (rebranded as the Kopter Group ) and relaunched it. The delay proved fortuitous: Leonardo went back to the drawing board on many details, including the Safran Arriel 2K engine, making the AW09 a compelling alternative to its twin-engine competitors. The chameleonlike interior, for instance, can be configured for multiple missions, including executive transport. It features a flat floor, large windows, seats for up to eight passengers, low vibration levels, and superior air-conditioning. The Garmin G3000H flight deck provides enhanced situational awareness, with the pilot able to push the helicopter to 140 knots, and its range is 432 nautical miles. From about $4.2 million

Light Jet: Embrarer Phenom 100EX

evolution travel llc

Embraer leans into the big E with its evolution of the Phenom 100EX . Choose your word: Efficiency, environment, experience—they all play a part to make it the biggest-feeling light jet on the market, which is a particularly crowded segment. Up front, the optional Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System that enhances stabilized approaches adds an extra layer of protection during a critical phase of flight, while the Flight Stream 510 allows the pilot to connect portable electronic devices to the aircraft avionics, thus reducing workload. In the cabin, Embraer’s design team has revised every element—opening up the space, upgrading the seats, increasing workspace by 30 percent by repositioning tables, and using new combinations of leather, Ultraleather, and veneer to dress up the interior. Stats remain best in class: a top speed of Mach 0.7, a 1,178-nautical-mile range, and a takeoff distance of 3,190 feet. $5.5 million

Jet Card: Sentient SJ25+

evolution travel llc

If there’s a gold standard for jet cards, Sentient, which launched the industry’s first in 1999, can claim the title. Despite the onslaught of competitors, its 25-hour card has remained at the top of the pack even as it celebrates its 25th anniversary. The differentiators: Sentient’s new app allows clients to quote prices and book flights in under 60 seconds via text, its preferred aircraft fleet is top-tier, and the card is backed by a multitiered safety structure for its clients, including an independent safety advisory board. Or just consider the numbers over the past 25 years: more than 1 million passengers flown to over 2,500 destinations; 6,700 active card owners; and revenue growth of 549 percent. Not to mention the company’s expanding partnerships with luxury hotels and events, which offer 2024 perks valued at $225,000, and its sustainability program that offsets emissions 300 percent from each flight with no cost to clients (to date, Sentient has offset 1.34 million metric tons of carbon). The 25-hour SJ25 Jet Card’s base price is $174,375; the SJ25+ Card starts at $224,625.

Electric Aircraft: Surf Air Mobility

Aerial view of Interstate 5 freeway at Osbourne Street in the Arleta neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles California.

Surf Air Mobility is taking a multipronged approach to electrifying its regional fleet, with a program to retrofit existing Cessna Grand Caravans with its EP1 propulsion systems (both hybrid-electric and full electric) currently in development with AeroTEC , MagniX , and Textron. It will soon take delivery of 20 new Grand Caravans—which will also be converted—as the first installment of its order for 100 aircraft, while upgrading the rest of its fleet; Surf has also secured preferred delivery positions for 90 electric short takeoff and landing (eSTOL) commuter planes from Electra Aero . The plan is to lead the fast-approaching regional-air-mobility revolution, which McKinsey forecasts to be a $115 billion market by 2035. Surf’s recent acquisition of Southern Airways Express makes it the country’s largest commuter airline, as measured by the number of scheduled departures. In 2022, it carried 450,000 passengers to 48 cities. The stratospheric jump in short-hop flights, Surf predicts, will be driven by increasingly congested highways and high oil prices, offset by electric planes’ lower operating costs and access to smaller airfields. For Surf, the electric revolution isn’t imminent—it’s already here.

Sustainable Solution: Piasecki PA-890

evolution travel llc

Piasecki’ s PA-890 slow-rotor wing compound helicopter may not come with the catchiest name, but when a full-scale prototype begins test flights in 2028, it could be one of the most sustainable multi-mission aircraft on the planet. Buoyed by a $37 million U.S. Air Force development grant, the whirlybird-with-wings will be powered by a hydrogen fuel cell now being developed by partner ZeroAvia , giving it a respectable 200-mile range, and will have the capacity to carry a pilot and seven passengers, since one of its missions will be executive transport. Piasecki claims the PA-890 will reduce operating costs by 50 percent compared to current turbine helicopters—a bonus for owners. But what really excites us are the quieter operations and zero emissions, which make this stealth-looking aircraft a potential game changer for intracity and regional travel. Cabin Connectivity: SmartSky LITE ATG

evolution travel llc

The battle for supremacy within the air-to-ground (ATG) space is hotly contested, and SmartSky was the first mover when it launched its nationwide 5G internet solution in July 2022.

Then, competitor Gogo had trouble bringing its 5G network online in 2023, leaving SmartSky to push forward with its unique services. With installations notched into the Beechcraft King Air 350, HondaJet, Cessna Citation Latitude, and most recently Citation CJ4 aircraft, along with many others, SmartSky differentiates with its ability to transmit above the ground noise.

It streams data symmetrically, enabling Zoom calls, live streaming, and gaming. Its 60 MHz 5G/LTE creates more available spectrum, meaning fewer disconnects, and the system provides enough oomph to deliver weather and diagnostics data support to crew even as passengers use multiple devices. With its Flagship system already integrated into many business jets, plus a SmartSky LITE ATG technology across a wide range of general-aviation platforms, the first off the line has taken a galloping lead for the best in cabin connectivity. Shipsets start at $59,999, plus installation and monthly data plans.

Flag Day is June 14: A visual guide to the meaning and history

evolution travel llc

Flag Day celebrates the symbolism and history of the American flag on June 14.

The U.S. has celebrated the adoption of the Stars and Stripes in a variety of ways when President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation establishing the June 14 as Flag Day in May 1916. These celebrations include flying the flag in front of residences, participating in parades, and holding other patriotic events. Several states and numerous cities had begun commemorating the day before to 1916.

In 1877 the first Flag Day was celebrated, 100 years after the Continental Congress adopted the flag. In 1949, President Harry Truman officially made Flag Day a day of national observance.

While its look has changed more than a few times over the years, the American flag has remained a symbol of freedom and justice. A look back at some of its milestones and reasons for its evolution.

American flag throughout history

What do the colors of the flag mean

The colors red, white and blue did not have meanings for the Stars and Stripes when it was adopted in 1777. However, when the Congress of the Confederation chose red, white and blue for the Great Seal of the United States in 1782, the meanings were listed as:

How to properly display the American flag

Flag etiquette has long been established to ensure the flag is treated with dignity. In 1942 Congress created the U.S. Flag Code which provides guidelines for the display and care of the flag. Flags should always hang freely but never with the stars down, except as a distress signal.

  • No other flag may be flown above or to the right of the U.S. flag, except at the United Nations headquarters.
  • Citizens may fly the flag at any time but preferably from sunrise to sunset — except for special occasions or when well-lighted.
  • When a flag becomes unfit to fly, it should be destroyed with dignity.
  • A flag should never touch the ground.

How to fold the flag

There is a traditional triangular method used to fold the American flag. According to the American Legion , the origins of the triangular fold are unknown, but some sources attribute it to the Gold Star Mothers of America or a chaplain stationed at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Here’s how its done:

NASA cancels spacewalk at ISS over 'spacesuit discomfort issue'

by Roger Simmons, Orlando Sentinel

international space station

A spacewalk scheduled for two astronauts outside the International Space Station was canceled by NASA about an hour before it was to begin Thursday morning.

"The spacewalk today, June 13, at the International Space Station did not proceed as scheduled due to a spacesuit discomfort issue," NASA said on its blog. No other details were immediately given.

"The spacewalk today, June 13, with NASA astronauts Tracy C. Dyson and Matt Dominick at the International Space Station will not be proceeding as scheduled," NASA said.

NASA said Tracy C. Dyson and Matt Dominick, the astronauts scheduled for the space walk, started taking off their spacesuits at approximately 7:25 am EDT, about an hour before the crew was anticipated to exit the ISS through an airlock.

Dyson and Dominick's spacewalk was supposed to include station maintenance and science work.

In announcing the spacewalk, NASA said two astronauts would remove some communications equipment from one of the ISS's laboratory modules with assistance from a robotic arm on the station. Dyson and Dominick were also going to swab surfaces on the ISS to "determine if microorganisms released through station vents can survive the external microgravity environment."
