2. St. Joseph’s Cathedral: 

The cathedral is located quite close to St. George’s Church. It is a very beautiful and one of the most popular Catholic churches in Hyderabad . The church has a very beautiful exterior, and an equally beautiful interior, with seating capacity for a large gathering. The church can accommodate over 500 people with ease. The bell towers were completed in 1891, but the bells were imported from Italy and installed in the year 1892.

The bells are times so they can play a number of hymns, most popularly ‘Ave Maria’. Masses offered here are in English and Telugu. Fr. Antonio Tagliabue bought a large plot of land in the year 1869 with the intention of building a church, a convent, and a school on the plot. St. Joseph’s was erected here.

2. St. Joseph’s Cathedral

St. Joseph’s Cathedral is one of the most famous churches in Hyderabad. This Roman Catholic church opened its door for divine worship on Christmas Eve in the year 1875. The church attained the recognition of the Cathedral in the year 1887 and then elevated into a Metropolitan See in 1953.

The two bells installed in the cathedral were imported from Italy in the year 1892, and they can play various hymns. The central prayer hall can accommodate about 500 devotees at a time.

St. Mary’s Basilica, also known as Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption, is a Minor Basilica and a famous church in Secunderabad. This imposing church constructed in 1850, is one of the oldest Roman Catholic Churches in the city that is dedicated to Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Gothic-style architecture, the beautiful statue of Mother Mary holding Jesus on her arms and the four bells imported from Italy are some of the striking features of the Basilica.
