Thailand Tours & Vacations

Two women talking with their guide next to the buddhas at the WatPho temple

Thailand is an idyllic paradise, where jungle-covered karsts plunge into aquamarine waters and the sand is sugar white.

But no matter how clichéd the fantasy, Thailand delivers in spades. The water around Krabi and Ko Tao really is that deep, cool shade of blue. Phi Phi’s limestone karsts really do look like some alien world. And the food? Let’s just say your local Pad Thai has nothing on Chiang Mai’s street stalls or the floating markets of Amphawa, where little old ladies do things with fish sauce and chili you never thought possible. From the waterfalls of Erawan to a homestay with the hill tribes of the Golden Triangle, these adventures go beyond the tourist traps. Buckle up.

Best time to visit thailand.

Thailand's climate is generally hot, humid, and at times (like other South East Asian countries) monsoonal. The seasons differ from coast to coast, so depending on which areas you're visiting, the weather can vary.

Thailand's mainland region is great to visit from November to February when the weather is cooler and dryer.

If you are planning on visiting the Gulf Coast (east), avoid the northeast monsoon that brings rain from October to January. For destinations like Phuket on the west side of the peninsula, the best time is November to April to avoid the other monsoon which causes Thailand's wet season from May to October.

Culture and customs

Often considered the epicenter of Buddhism, religion permeates daily life in Thailand. Sprinkled throughout the country are thousands of golden temples, where you’ll find Buddhist monks in orange robes walking the streets. Young men are expected to spend some time as a monk as it bestows honor on their families. Visitors should be respectful of monks and dress modestly when visiting a temple (cover your knees and shoulders and remove your shoes).

Like other Asian nations, the concept of ‘saving face’ is important. This means avoiding conflict or embarrassment in order to preserve social standing, dignity, and honor. Thai people will go out of their way to avoid ‘losing face’. Losing your temper or raising your voice are surefire ways to lose face and can be perceived as volatile or rude.

Eating and drinking

Thai food has everything from spicy dishes packed with chilis to milder coconut-based curries. With street stalls and night markets all over the country, it's really easy to pick up a snack wherever you are in Thailand. On many Intrepid trips, you'll be given the opportunity to have dinner with a local family – this offers a great chance to see how meals are prepared and learn more about the local culture. Go a step further on our 8-day Thailand Read Food Adventure to watch, eat, prepare, and present tasty and traditional Thai cuisine.

Things to try in Thailand

1. Pad Thai (Phat Thai)

A well-known dish but for good reason. This delicious plate of stir-fried rice noodles garnished with peanuts is full of flavor and can be served with fresh prawns, chicken, tofu, or vegetables.

2. Tom Yum (Tom Yam)

Usually prepared with stock, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and chili, this soup is widely available in Thailand and has been popularised around the world.

3. Green curry

One of many curries that Thais do so well. Green curry consists of chicken, Thai eggplant, and chilies bathed in a coconut milk-based sauce.

4. Som tam (green papaya salad)

This northern dish of shredded raw papaya, cherry tomatoes, and green beans is a tantalizing mix of sweet, spicy, and sour flavors.

5. Coconut water

For a super fresh thirst quencher, try coconut water straight from the husk.

6. Tropical fruit

Fruit shakes and fresh fruit juices are widely available from markets and restaurants – make the most of all the tropical fruits of Thailand.

Geography and environment

Sharing borders with South East Asian neighbors  Cambodia ,   Laos ,   Malaysia   , and   Myanmar   (Burma), Thailand's natural environment varies greatly from region to region. From the steamy jungles and misty highlands in the north to the white sand beaches and picturesque islands of the south, Thailand's everchanging landscape has been fascinating and entertaining travelers for centuries.

The capital, Bangkok, is a heaving, urban jungle with skyscrapers, street vendors, markets, cars, tuk-tuks, bicycles, and masses of people all competing for space. Despite this, there are pockets of quiet beauty to be found with parks, temples, and traditional shop fronts scattered throughout the city.

Rural areas in the north are typically quieter, with locals living a more traditional way of life; the frenetic pace of the city giving way to a more slow-paced, agricultural-based lifestyle. Houses are simple, there's more space and less of the modern conveniences. Jungles, rivers, bamboo huts, and teak houses are more commonly seen here, and birds and other animal life are more abundant.

History and government

Early history.

Communities based on agriculture (such as rice growing) inhabited Siam (Thailand) as early as the 6th century. In the following centuries, Siam came under the influence of the Khmer, Dvaravati, and Malay cultures, with some temples and monuments in modern-day Thailand showing evidence of this influence. In the 13th century, the city of Sukhothai in northern Thailand became an important capital. The ruins of the Sukhothai Historical Park (a UNESCO World Heritage site) feature remnants of the royal palace, temples, and other buildings and highlight the artistic and architectural features of the era.

Ayutthaya rose to prominence as the new capital in the 14th century and was considered a powerhouse of South East Asia as one of the most important centers of trade in the world. Enduring many battles, invasions, overthrows, and coups, Ayutthaya's far-reaching trade with other regions ensured a flourishing influence of art, weaponry, religion, and cuisine. Much wealth was generated by this enormous empire, with grand palaces, ornate buildings, and huge temples featured throughout the city. All this came to an end when the Burmese invaded in the 18th century, bringing the kingdom to ruin and resulting in the loss of many artistic and cultural treasures. Despite this, the ruins of the city are still standing, have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, and are a great day trip from Bangkok. See the sights of ancient and recent Thai history during a 3 day River Kwai and Ancient Thai Kingdoms tour.

Recent history

Thonburi was established as the capital of Siam by General Taksin in the late 18th century, yet this didn't last long with Taksim being deposed and executed not long after. Bangkok was then named capital by General Chakri, who became Rama I - the first king of the Rama Dynasty.

Over the years, Siam (Thailand) remained the only South East Asian country to remain free from European colonization. In 1932, the Siamese Revolution resulted in a constitutional monarchy being formed, and in 1941, Thailand invaded French Indochina, overpowered the French, and claimed Laos.

In the last thirty years, Thailand has seen political power change hands many times, often due to coups, revolutions, and protests. Despite this, Thailand’s economy continues to grow due to its strong tourist industry. Enduring all this, the much-loved King Rama IX has reigned as the Head of State since 1946 - claiming the title of the longest-reigning monarch in the world and providing Thai people with a stable figure to rely upon.

Bustling street markets filled with colorful vendors selling an assortment of goods can be found in small villages and large towns throughout the country. Luxurious, multi-level shopping malls that rival those in European cities are increasingly popping up.

The Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok is perhaps the largest and most extensive market in the world. Here vendors sell everything you can think of, from ceramics to Thai silk to vintage clothing. Bartering is expected at markets and most small vendors. As a rule of thumb, if the price isn’t listed, it’s negotiable. But remember, Thais appreciate friendliness and a sense of humor. The more aggressive you are in trying to get a deal, the less likely you are to get one.

Things to buy in Thailand

  • Vibrant fabric cushions, tablecloths, and hammocks
  • Silver jewelry (look for reputable stores)
  • Handcrafted umbrellas or parasols
  • Thai silk scarves, ties, wraps, and clothing
  • Colorful Celadon ceramics
  • Tailor-made clothing

Festival and events

Loy krathong (festival of lights).

During the 12th lunar month, people across the country gather around lakes, rivers, and canals to symbolically let their worries float away in the most magical way – by releasing colorful lotus-shaped rafts holding candles, incense, and flowers onto the water.

Yee Peng (or Yi Peng)

At the same time that Loy Krathong is taking place, Chiang Mai also celebrates Yee Peng. Religious events, cultural activities, and street parades all mark this Buddhist tradition. But what makes this festival truly spectacular is the release of thousands of sky lanterns that illuminate the sky.

Songkran (Thai New Year)

What happens when New Year’s Day falls during the height of summer? It morphs into a giant water fight. Some towns celebrate just on the day (April 13), while others stretch it out for several days of concerts, ceremonies, and other wet festivities.

Chiang Mai Flower Festival

Flowers are used in ways you never thought imaginable at this colorful three-day event in February. Come for the parade of impressive floral floats, and stay for the tasty Thai street food, music, and performances.

What's the transport like in Thailand?

Intrepid believes half the fun of experiencing a new country is getting there, and getting around once there! Where possible, Intrepid uses local transport options and traditional modes of transport - which usually carry less of an environmental impact, support small local operators, and are more fun.

Depending on which trip you're on while in Thailand, you may find yourself traveling by Songthaew.

Get to know the locals as you share a ride in these converted pick-up trucks. Snagging a seat on the ‘two benches’ (the literal meaning of songthaew) is a popular way of getting around South East Asia.

See Thailand from the ground level on a Saamlaw, the three-wheeled wonder. Sometimes motorized but usually pedal-powered by a local, it’s a fun way to get from A to B or see a new city's sights.

Traveling with Intrepid is a little bit different. We endeavor to provide travelers with an authentic experience to remember, so we try to keep accommodations as unique and traditional as possible.

The ultimate room with a view - spend the night on a floating bamboo raft house. Enjoy the seclusion, soak up the serenity and leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Does my trip to Thailand support The Intrepid Foundation?

Yes, all Intrepid trips support the Intrepid Foundation. In fact, we make a donation on behalf of every traveler. Trips to Thailand directly support our foundation partner, EcoThailand Foundation .

Donations from our trips help EcoThailand's environmental guardianship education program for children in local state schools.

Intrepid will double the impact by dollar-matching all post-trip donations made to The Intrepid Foundation.

Land of Smiles

There is certainly a lot to smile about when you vacation in Thailand. Here, the Old World meets something entirely new. From temples to markets to food to waterways to beaches to nightlife, there is something to please everyone. As Thailand – a constitutional monarchy – is the only country in Southeast Asia to not have been colonized by Europeans, its cultural identity remains largely intact. And the Thai people, among the friendliest in the world, love to share their country with visitors. The only question is what not to see!

Destination Must-See's

Thailand ms1

Bangkok, or the City of Angels, was founded in 1782 by King Rama I – first king of the present Chakri dynasty. It has come a long way in 235 years. It is the political, economic, cultural, culinary, and spiritual capital of Thailand, and one of the world’s most visited cities. With so much to offer, how does one prioritize? Start with its temples, such as Wat Pho, Wat Phra Kaew, and Wat Arun. For more culture, visit the Grand Palace and the National Museum.

Thailand ms2

Buddhist Temples:

Buddhist temples in Thailand are known as wats. There are more than 30,000 temples in Thailand – 400 functioning temples in Bangkok alone. Wat Pho in Bangkok is Thailand’s most sacred site, and home to the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. This golden Buddha is 151 feet long and the largest in Thailand. Wat Phra Kaew, also in Bangkok, is the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Thailand’s most sacred Buddha sculpture carved out of green jade. Bangkok’s Wat Arun, or the Temple of Dawn, has the tallest prang (tower) in Thailand – 220 feet high – decorated with bits of porcelain and seashells.

Thailand ms3

The Grand Palace:

The Grand Palace, located in Bangkok, is actually many buildings. King Rama I, founder of the Chakri dynasty, began construction of his royal palace in 1782, and it was used as a royal residence until 1925. Surrounded by four walls, it has a total area of 2,351,000 square feet. There are three main zones: the Outer Court (royal offices, public buildings, and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha); the Middle Court (important residential and state buildings); and the Inner Court (exclusive to the King, Queen, and consorts). It is a must-see in Bangkok.

Thailand ms4

Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai:

In the north of Thailand there are two cities definitely worth a visit. Chiang Rai is the northernmost large city in Thailand. It was founded in 1262 as the second capital of the Lanna kingdom, after Chiang Saen. Some notable sites are temples such as the Wat Rong Khun Temple (the white temple); the Saturday Walking Street market and the Night Bazaar; and the Hill-Tribes Museum and Education Centre. Chiang Mai, or the “Rose of the North,” is Thailand’s northern capital. It succeeded Chiang Rai as the capital of the Lanna kingdom in 1296. Some notable sites here are Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, the most famous of the city’s 300 temples; and the Sunday Evening Walking Street market.

Destination Must-Do's

Thailand md1

Markets are a way of life for the Thai people, and they are popular with visitors as well. The Chatuchak Market in Bangkok has more than 8,000 shops on weekends. Vendors sell fruits and vegetables, clothes, pottery and ceramics, basketry, accessories, flowers, and even pets, among other things. The Silom district of Bangkok has all manner of shopping, from a mall to markets, including a night market. Night markets have a lively atmosphere. You can find local items here, along with food, drink and live music. They can get quite crowded. Floating markets emerged as a result of daily commerce being done along rivers and klongs (canals). Damnoen Saduak, outside Bangkok, is the most famous.

Thailand md2

Thai Cuisine:

Thai cuisine is a balance of five flavors: sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and spicy. Most people know of pad Thai, or fried noodles, but there are many other dishes to try. Tom Yam Goong is a spicy shrimp soup made with a broth of lemongrass, chillies, lime leaves and juice, and fish sauce. Tom Kha Kai is a spicy chicken soup with chillies and lemongrass in a coconut milk broth. Som Tam, or spicy green papaya salad, perfectly represents all five flavors. Kao Pad is fried rice with egg, onion, and herbs. Gaeng Keow Wan Kai is chicken in green curry – green curry paste stirred into hot coconut milk. And there is so much more! Most dishes are served with rice, a Thai staple. If you prefer to not have your mouth on fire, ask for “mai phed,” or not spicy.

Thailand md3

The waterways in Thailand have long been an integral part of life here. Bangkok was once called the “Venice of the East” because of its klongs, or canals. Many have been filled in, but there are still some that are used for floating markets. A long-tail boat, a lightweight vessel with narrow beams, high-pointed bows and a canopy, is used as a floating market “stand,” but visitors can take rides in these boats as well. Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River – “the River of Kings” – is the dividing line between the east and west of the city. And in the north of Thailand, the mighty Mekong River forms a border between Laos, Myanmar and Thailand, known as the Golden Triangle.

Thailand md4

Kanchanaburi:

The bridge that spans the River Kwai, subject of a famous book and 1957 film, is part of the infamous Death Railway in the Kanchanaburi province in western Thailand. The 258-mile railway, built by Allied prisoners of war and native laborers, served to connect Thailand and Myanmar by land so that the Imperial Japanese Army didn’t have to transport their supplies by sea. It is estimated that more than 100,000 POWs and laborers died during construction, hence the Death Railway name. Today, both the bridge and railway are symbols of peace. There are also two museums and a war memorial.

Our guided trips to Thailand take you the country’s most incredible museums, from the former house of a Thai silk trader, to a sacred golden temple at the top of a mountain.

A delicious stir-fried noodle dish, Pad Thai is one of the most classic foods found in Thai street stalls. It’s a combination of egg, fish sauce, tamarind, and your choice of chicken, tofu and prawns. Top with bean sprouts and peanuts for crunch and chilli and lime juice for a zesty kick.

The most famous salad in Thailand, Som Tam is a fiery dish of shredded green papaya, tomatoes and green beans. The vegetables are mixed with fish sauce, lime juice, palm sugar and a healthy dose of chilli, and you can tailor the dish to your taste for extra sweetness or spiciness.

Green Curry

You’ll find the beloved green curry all over Thailand and our Local Specialists will show you the best spots to try this spicy coconut milk curry. Green chillies give the curry its color, and it’s filled with beans, Thai aubergines, the meat of your choice and served with steamed rice.

Best food in Thailand

The Thai cuisine is one of the best parts of a trip to Thailand and our Thai vacation packages will show you all the best places to try these beloved dishes.

What to pack for Thailand

People packing for a tour

Adaptor plug

In Thailand the standard voltage is 220 V and the power plugs and sockets are of type A, B, C, F and O. The standard frequency is 50 Hz.

Reef-safe sunscreen & insect repellent

Protect yourself from the harsh Thai sun with SPF 30 or higher and protect the coral reefs with reef-safe sunscreen. You’ll also need to pack plenty of DEET insect repellent.

In Thai culture, it’s required to remove your shoes before entering houses, temples and some shops and restaurants. Bring a comfortable pair of sandals so you can easily slip them off all day.

With plenty of islands ringed with golden shorelines and turquoise waters, you’ll definitely need a swimsuit for snorkelling, diving and blissful beach days in Thailand.

Thai phrasebook

The Thai language is unique to the country, and you’ll gain plenty of smiles and appreciation from the locals if you attempt to learn a few phrases.

Thailand - Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

The beaches make it worth visiting Thailand

Exotic, amazing, enchanting. Mere words cannot describe the joy of visiting one of the beautiful and exciting countries in Asia. The presence of numerous islands and two coastlines ensures a holiday in Thailand to be filled with various beaches. From crowded cosmopolitan beaches to secluded tropical getaways, you can really satiate your desires for the perfect beach holiday here.  Thailand is a country that has something for everyone. Whether you’re traveling alone, as a couple or with your family, a trip to Thailand will have all the right options to customize your itinerary and add attractions that suit your tastes and preferences.

Tour Highlights

  • Visit the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary just outside Chiang Mai
  • Snorkel with the fish in Maya Bay
  • Take a boat ride from Phuket to the Phi Phi Islands and Monkey Beach
  • Climb the 300 intricately carved steps to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep temple
  • Take in panoramic views from the seat of Big Buddha in Kron, Phuket
  • Float from vendor to vendor at Bangkok’ s floating markets
  • Swim beneath the waterfalls of Erawan National Park
  • Thailand’s glittery beaches are one of its biggest charms, but those golden temples are equally worthy of your time.

Travel Tips

  • The most fun way to get around Thailand is by tuk-tuk, which offers fantastic views along the way. Most of these open-air ‘taxis’ are blue and have three wheels, except for the red tuk-tuks of Phuket (some of which have sound systems and neon lights).
  • When visiting holy sites, be sure to bring a shawl so you can cover up your shoulders and knees. Also be prepared to remove your shoes before entering a temple or person’s home.
  • The most common greeting in Thailand is to bring your hands together in a prayer-like fashion and bow, accompanied with a “Sawatdee-kah” for males or a “Sawatdee-krap” for females. Be sure to return this gesture as a show of respect.
  • Thai people are extremely friendly and generous. Don’t be surprised if a local starts to strike up a random conversation, particularly in the markets.
  • Make your visit to Thailand is an ethical one. Research whether a tour company’s practices are socially responsible, particularly if visiting elephants or hill tribes.

Thailand has seasonal weather so please do check up on best time to visit Thailand before planning your tour.

Tours in Thailand - Questions and Answers

With a laid-back way of life and extraordinary cultural heritages, the shortest amount of time you should plan for any trip to Thailand is one week . In seven days, you can admire the golden pagodas of Bangkok and Ayutthaya, and choose to either kick back on the tropical beaches of the country’s south or head out to discover its northern tribal villages. However, if you were to ask us how long to spend in Thailand , we would recommend staying in the country for two weeks , since this gives you the chance to tick off most of the country’s bucket-list destinations at a leisurely pace. If you cannot make your stay last that long, then ten days make for a good compromise. If you're looking for the best Thailand tours and trips, you can find them here .

The best time to visit Thailand is between the months of November and March, which also coincides with the country’s high season. The weather is comparatively colder during this time of year, making it ideal to explore the country. If you want to avoid crowds, then make sure that you head for the country  in October. Please bear in mind that although the official monsoon season peaks in August and September, parts of the country continue receiving rainfall all through October, which puts most people off from visiting the country during this month. You can find more information here .

A western European or North American visitor to Thailand will find it one of the best countries in the world to visit on a budget . With street food and budget accommodation both keenly priced, USD 40 per person per day should cover accommodation and meal costs for frugal travelers. However, book organized tours and stay in middle to higher-range hotels and you will be looking at a daily budget of around USD 60 to USD 120 per person, per day. ATMs are widespread and operate exactly as they would at home – with English-language options.

Most western visitors do not require a visa to visit Thailand for a short term as tourists. Stays cannot be more than 30 days in one go and a total of 90 days within a six-month period. You will require a passport with at least six months remaining from your date of entry, alongside a return air ticket and proof that you have the equivalent of just over USD 600 to fund your stay. These details can be requested by customs officials on entry into the country.

The most widely spoken language in the country is Thai (Siamese), which also has its own alphabet. This can make it difficult for western travelers to communicate with the locals in the beginning. However, many Thai people also speak or understand a good amount of English, especially those living in large cities such as Bangkok, because of the language’s international importance. Few in the country expect visitors to speak any Thai, although any attempt to do so will bring smiles on the faces of those you are talking to.

The heart and soul of Thailand, Bangkok is an unmissable destination and makes for a logical first stop as it is also home to the country’s main international airport. Among the top things to do in Bangkok are visiting the reclining Buddha at Wat Pho and exploring the royal palace in the city. Beach lovers will not want to miss a trip to Ko Samui and the Phi Phi Islands, while a tour to Chiang Mai is a must for anyone interested in history and culture. For ancient wonders, look no further than the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ayutthaya . Head for Krabi if you are looking for a great mix of beach vibes and snorkeling adventures.

The memories of drifting down the muddy waters of the Mekong is sure to stay with you for years to come, while island hopping from Phuket or Krabi is another must while in the country. The tropical islands that pepper the Gulf of Thailand have been used as a shooting spot for everything from James Bond movies to ‘The Beach’. For a completely different perspective of the country, head to the north, where traditional tribal villages are located amid deep jungle and towering hills that are worth exploring. For history lovers, there are Khmer ruins waiting to be explored at Phanom Rung Historical Park along with the famous bridge on the River Kwai.

Thailand’s road network is well developed and the country’s public transport will take you almost anywhere at an inexpensive price. This is another reason why budget travelers love this country. Thailand also has more than 2,500 miles of railway, running from the border with Malaysia in the south to destinations like Chiang Mai in the north. Both are a great value for money, although neither buses nor trains are the fastest or the most comfortable means of travel. For this, you are better off organizing a car and a driver to take you from one destination to another.

Top things to do

Food tour in bangkok.

Bangkok has a range of exciting things for you to experience. A food tour is the best way to take a deep dive into the local culture. Don’t look at the menu or decor. Look at the number of people then you will know you choose the right one. Tom Yum Gung - the Thai masterpiece soup, Gang Keow Wan - the famous Thai green curry, Pad Thai - the national dish of Thailand, and the grilled pork skewers Kao Niew Moo Yang are some authentic Thai food that many are passionate about.

Tuk-tuk riding in Bangkok

Hopping into a tuk-tuk to explore this big and bustling city is a must-do experience in Thailand family vacation packages. The kids will love the adventurous feeling of a tuktuk wriggling around every corner of the city.

See the temples, any city

This is a must when you are in Thailand as Buddhism is practiced by more than 95% of the population. It’s easy to encounter a temple on your way as they are many.

Recall the glory days of the powerful Siam Kingdom

80 kilometers from Bangkok, Thailand’s old capital of Ayutthaya is filled with ancient ruins - heritages of the Siam Kingdom, a golden age of Thai history. Among the recommended relics are Wat Phra Sri Sanphet and Wat Mahathat - a Buddha head emerging from the roots of a tree.

Taste northern Thai food, Chiangmai

Rich with history and native ingredients, Northern culinary specialties satisfy every hungry soul. In a wide range of Chiang Mai food, Khao Soi is the most famous. It is a perfect blend of curry soup and coconut milk to create a thick, rich texture, served with crunchy fried noodles.

Know about Lanna's Culture, Chiangmai

The cultural heaven of Chiang Mai is rooted in the history of the 700-year-old Lanna kingdom. Chiang Mai has its own culture, cuisine, and crafts which are so strong that it is unofficially named Thailand’s “second city.” Meet old and young talented generations in Chiangmai to see how they keep their ancient culture alive.

Meet the elephants

Seeing and walking with the giant is a one-of-a-kind experience in Thailand’s exotic vacation packages. Many ethical elephant sanctuaries in Thailand give the old, sick, tired elephants a new chance to enjoy life. And your visit contributes to this meaningful activity. (Feel free to ask us for the information).

Learn Thai recipes

After tasting all the best bites from north to south, you might ask yourself why Thai food is so delicious. Attend a cooking class where you can learn much more from a local chef than by reading a cookbook. First and foremost, the class will help you to get familiar with Thai basic ingredients such as marinade pastes, curry paste, and Thai chili jam which lead to a wide variety of Thai dishes.

Go to Pai - Best Thailand trip package for couple

This small town is one of Thailand’s brightest hidden gems . Pai bamboo bridge is Instagram-worthy, the cafes have romantic views, and its lovely night market is an experience you simply cannot miss.

Visit Chiang Rai

The sleepy town of Chiang Rai exudes a nostalgic vibe of the olden time. Here is home to the famed White Temple and Golden Triangle where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar all meet.

Go to nature

One of the most extraordinary Thailand sightseeing is going to nature at Khao Sok National Park. This place covers  738 sq. km of hundreds-million-year-jungles, picturesque Cheow Lan Lake, towering limestone cliffs, mangrove forests, and rich wildlife. Add this Thailand’s largest protected park to your itinerary to enrich your luxury vacations in Thailand with breathtaking nature.

Beach gateway on the Andaman Coast

The Andaman Sea offers countless sandy beaches with palm trees and azure water. Here, you find Phuket , Thailand’s largest and most well-known island with great viewpoints, interesting night markets, great cuisine, beach bars, Phuket surfing, and impressive temples. Khao Lak is a more quiet place, suitable for families and travelers who want relaxation. Similan Islands are among the most beautiful diving spots in the world, thanks to its diverse marine life, and Koh Lipe , known as Thailand’s Maldives, is a remote dream for couples.

Island hopping on the Gulf of Thailand

Located on the east coast of Southern Thailand, the Gulf of Thailand is perfect for adventurous souls. Hop from the sexy beaches in Koh Samui to Ang Thong National Marine Park with a collection of uninhabited islands and wildlife, Koh Phangan - a mecca of endless full-moon parties, and Koh Tao - a beautiful island full of surprises. When the sun goes down, take part in active nightlife in the beachside restaurants offering Thai seafood and plenty of bars to chill in the stunning sunset views.

Island hopping is always one of should-not-to-be-missed Thailand tours for singles, couples, and families.

Once you’ve sorted out your hotel, flights and rental car, all that will be left to do is explore the ancient temple of Wat Phra Chetuphon. And guess what? You can add a tour of that into your package as well.

Your Thailand Vacation Itinerary

Day 1: Touch down at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok and grab a cab to your accommodations. Eat a delicious Thai meal from a street vendor before hitting the capital’s best sights, such as Wat Phra Chetuphon, Chatuchak Weekend Market and the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun).

Day 2: Fly south to the magical Island of Phuket. Crystal clear waters and abundant sea life make this place a magnet for divers. If you’d rather stay on dry land, spend some time touring Big Buddha Phuket and Monkey Hill.

Day 6: Hop on a flight to Chiang Mai, Thailand’s relaxation capital. You could spend weeks exploring its Buddhist temples and bright green rice fields.

Thailand travel reviews

Thailand tour photos from our travellers, recommended tours, the best ways to pay for services in thailand.

Thailand's local currency is the Thai Baht. The best way to carry your money is in debit cards, withdrawing cash in local currencies from ATM machines. ATMs are found throughout Thailand and will generally accept cards on the Visa and Mastercard networks. It is a great idea to travel with both a Visa and Mastercard if at all possible in case of loss or problems with one card, you will have a back up. If you are bringing US Dollars, please make sure that the notes are new and in good condition. Notes older than 2003, or with any tears or blemishes may not be accepted. Be fussy with your bank when buying cash!

Tips on tips

Some reasonable suggestions on how to tip the staff

It is customary in Asia to tip service providers such as waiters, at approximately 10%, depending on the service.

Tour guides / Drivers

$ 1.5 to $ 3.5.

Recommendations for tipping drivers and local guides would range from $1.5-$3.5 USD per person per day depending on the quality and length of the service

G Adventures CEO

$ 20 to $ 25.

The amount is entirely a personal preference, however as a guideline $20-25 USD per person, per week can be used.

Packing for Thailand

What you need to bring depends on the trip you have chosen and the countries or regions you are planning to visit. We suggest that you pack as lightly as possible as your are expected to carry your own luggage. As a rule we try not to have to walk more than 15-20 minutes with your bags which is why we recommend keeping the weight of your bags between 10-15kg/22-30lb. Suitcases are not recommended for G Adventures trips! Most travellers carry a backpack or rolling bag of small to medium size (no XXL ones please!) as they need to fit under the beds when travelling on sleeper trains. You will also need a day pack/bag to carry water, cameras and other electronics like iPods and mobile phones. If your trip involves overnights in homestays, villages or camping then you usually have the opportunity to rent sleeping bags if need be instead of bringing them with you.

Electricity and power supplies in Thailand

The entire country of Thailand runs on 220-volt currents and uses five types of electrical outlets — type A, B, C, F and O. Type A: mainly used in North and Central America, China and Japan. This socket only works with plug A. Type B: like type A but with an extra prong for grounding. This socket also works with plug A. Type C: also known as the standard "Euro" plug. This socket also works with plug E and plug F. Type F: also known as "Schuko". This socket also works with plug C and plug E. Type O: this type is unique to Thailand but it also works with plug C, plug E and plug F.

Highlights of our Thailand tours

Thai cuisine is incomplete without these iconic Thai style fried noodles. It's a stir-fried symphony of flavors – sweet, savory, and oh-so-satisfying (with a sprinkle of crushed peanuts for that extra crunch!).

Looking for Thai comfort food? It has to be this steaming bowl of noodle soup. Think silky noodles swimming in a fragrant broth, warming the soul with every slurp!

Kaeng Khiao Wan

Spices and coconut milk. Who knew just these two main ingredients could create Thailand's world-famous curry sensation (and a flavor bomb that'll have you reaching for seconds!).

Tom Yum Goong

This tangy and spicy concoction is a hot and sour shrimp soup that packs a punch. It’s a fiery favorite of the locals, flavored with lemongrass, chilli, and lime leaves.

Taking inspo from Indian & Persian cuisines, this Thai dish is a hearty curry spiced with cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaves, and cumin, best served with a warm bowl of rice. Utterly addictive!

Top food in Thailand

Songkran (water festival).

On 13th April every year, you’ll find people celebrating the Thai new year with a splash. The whole country is drenched in celebration with water fights, family time and famous food.

Chiang Mai Flower Festival

This floral fiesta is a must-do if you’re traveling to Thailand in February. From vibrant parades on the streets to miniature trees - it’s the Thai celebration of its beautiful biodiversity.

Ubon Ratchathani (Candle Festival)

Candles as tall as elephants? Yup. That’s what you’ll see during this Thailand festival. And parades of wood sculptures coated with wax. It’s truly unique.

Phi Ta Khon (Ghost Festival)

Creepy costumes, eerie masks, and mischievous spirits loom during Thailand's spooky shindig in Northern Thailand. From intricate patchwork to sermons by Buddhist monks, it’s a festival of fascination.

Yi Peng (Lantern Festival)

Thailand's sky-high celebration is a show-stopping sight of hundreds of lanterns decorating the night sky. It’s supposed to symbolise letting go of all your worries and misfortunes.

Frequently asked questions about thailand.

Your search for ""

What is the currency used in Thailand?

That’d be the Thai Baht, or just THB.

Do I need a visa to travel to Thailand?

This will depend on your citizenship. Luckily for you, we made a helpful visa guide that’ll tell you everything you need to know.

When is the best time to visit Thailand?

Thailand is stunning all year round. But the most popular time to visit Thailand is between November and February. The weather is nice and cool, perfect for beach days. But if you’ve got a tight budget, you could visit during the March to June – fewer tourists & cheaper stays too!

What should I pack for a trip to Thailand?

Your passport, of course! But other than that, these are a few essentials you’ll need for your trip to Thailand:

• Sun protection: You’re gonna be the tropics. So be ready for sunny, sultry days (that are best spent on an island) • Insect repellent: We love forest exploration, but not bug bites. • Light clothing: Made from breathable fabric that’s loose on you. • Modest clothes: If you’re planning on visiting temples and religious sites, you’ll be expected to be fully covered. • Comfy shoes: For walking around the vibrant night markets and streets.

What is ATM access like in Thailand?

Good! You’ll find ATMs to be easily accessible in most tourist hotspots and urban destinations. You might wanna carry some cash with you if you’re visiting a rural spot.

How many days should I spend in Thailand?

Usually, around 7-10 days are enough to explore all the popular hotspots in Thailand. But if you’re interested in an island hopping adventure, you could always spend a few more days lounging at a white-sand beach.

Is it customary to tip in Thailand?

It might not be mandatory, but it’s definitely appreciated. So, if you loved the food or service (which you will, you’re in Thailand after all), you could always leave a small tip.

Is tap water safe to drink in Thailand?

Tap water is generally safe to drink in Bangkok. But you’ll never find the locals drinking it. So, it’s probably best to stick to bottled water when you’re in Thailand.

The tour guide Jill was absolutely amazing. The tour itself was a great quick view of Thailand and its culture. Would definitely say it’s designed more for 30+ age group.
Kosal went above and beyond to make this tour one of the best I've ever been on! We learned so much about the history of the countries and it was the perfect itinerary. Literally could not recommend enough!!!

Rhi was an amazing tour guide and made the trip so special for each and every one of us. She built a connection with us all which made the trip so much more fun. She was always bringing up the vibes of the group when needed whilst also being informative, there was a perfect balance! Couldn’t recommend Rhi more.

TruTravels

  • Excellent - 15,422 reviews for Thailand tours
This was my first trip with Tru Travels and first ever group tour in general and I had the best time! Can’t thank Mickey enough for making sure we were all happy, going above and beyond to provide all the information we needed and making sure we had the time of our lives even through the lows. You can tell he really loves his job and is somehow always happy! I loved the combination of doing the north and south of Thailand, there was always a good balance of having lots of activities to do and things to see as well being able to wind down and relax. I’ll never forget my time in Thailand and all the amazing people I got to meet! Would 100% book another tour with Tru Travels.
Taro our tour guide was first class. Made the trip for me and my son can’t praise him high enough. Miss communication with admin and me in emails regarding which hotels we would be staying in on the trip were an issue at the beginning of the tour which I wasnt happy about. The tour itself was great. Once in a life time trip for us

Joe was an absolutely amazing guide who put himself before everyone else. He is knowledgable, kind, and so passionate about making sure we as a group are all enjoying ourselves and embracing what Thailand has to offer. I have had the absolute best time and I would like to thank him for making sure we’ve all loved it!
Couldn’t fault my experience. The tour was so well organised, so stress and hassle free, and our guide Sophie was just incredible. Throughout she has made it so easy, she’s always given extra recommendations for extra activities, food etc. She’s been an amazing guide when visiting different cultural spots and sightes. And overall she’s been a great leader and friend. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to put me at ease when solo travelling. Super great fun for her time and energy

Danny and Jack were amazing guides and made this experience fun for everyone involved 💖
This was my first time traveling with a tour company and I had an amazing experience every step of the way! I asked so many questions throughout the booking process about the itinerary and dietary restrictions and everyone I spoke to was so patient and accomodating. The itinerary included tours and activities that were fun and exciting. The views we woke up to every morning, the beaches, and the snorkeling experience was all so breathtakingly beautiful; and I couldn't have asked for a better group and tour guide to travel with! Luka was so knowledgeable, caring, and fun; and he always went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. Thank you for such an amazing trip! I highly reccomend the Thailand Island Hopper Tour with Feel Free Travel!

Sehr gut ausgewählte Ziele! In der Kleingruppe hatte man das Glück, trotzdem individuelle Erlebnisse und Freiraum zu haben.
Pleasant. Don’t expect any sailing, it’s motorboat catered for tourists who want to relax, suntan and read a book and eat lots of good food. The wind wasn’t always there to be true but even when it was we had a scheduled tour so not many tourists were up for it so captain has to follow itinerary. It’s a bit sad as the boat crew are all very seasoned sailors who just make a nice little cruise for the middle aged. It’s 2 and 1/2 days not 4 as advertised. Main company is Intrepid and they have so many safety rules, makes you feel like a child in a holiday camp. I had a good time but definitely I’d like to try a proper sailing boat next time.

Overall, it was a good experience that I wouldn’t do again😁 it’s a backpacking tour, but some of the hostel we stayed in has no AC and it was not one location. The places we visited were amazing and lucky me to see these places. Tour guide was not welcoming at start but and she didn’t introduce us to each other properly.
Jay Jay and Morgan were great tour guides! My husband and I requested private accommodations the first day of the tour (for a separate upgraded cost, of course) and they made those arrangements for us seamlessly. They also had numerous recommendations for food and activities on the days we had free time, which was very helpful. We loved this tour and enjoyed our time immensely!

From the initial booking to arriving back home in London everything was perfect. The trip was organised with so much thought and everything went so smoothly, there were no hiccups, everyone knew what we were doing and where we were going, pick ups were always on time, always someone to meet us at the airports, no issues whatsoever! - we opted for the 4* option as I didn’t think we would be in the hotels long enough to enjoy 5* facilities due to the amount of activities we had planned and the group agreed this was the best decision, all hotels were clean, facilities and service in all hotels were spot on and we didn’t need nothing more for the amount of time there. Brian was spectacular, any questions we had he came back to me in minutes, nothing was to much trouble and he always gave us the best advice when it was needed, he was fantastic! we would 100% recommend booking with tourradar, we do not have a bad word to say! - trip of a lifetime, now onto the next adventure!
This tour was fabulous! My husband and I and our two teenage sons really enjoyed it. We found the tour to be well organised and had great support from the travel agent throughout the tour. All our airport transfers went seamlessly and we had a wonderful time experiencing and learning about Thai and Vietnamese culture and customs. The tour guides were excellent, so patient, respectful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour!

  • Excellent - 6,412 reviews for Thailand tours
We did the 23 day Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand tour. Here are our thoughts and some hopefully helpful information for those considering this trip in the future. We loved Vietnam. Our guide Duc was excellent and the pace was varied with some long days interspersed with shorter days. In this leg, we got to spend time in the cities and villages exploring and did a multitude of different activities. Very good mix of things. Loved Ha Long Bay. Cambodia was fine. It was only 5 days and our guide was ok. Some neat adventures like the bamboo train and bat cave, plus Angkor Wat as the highlight. Thailand was terrible. We spent 4 days out of 6 on the bus for over 6 hours each day just visiting temples. Too many temples and too long on the bus. We would arrive at hotels after 7 pm, told to find dinner but have your bags out by 630 am the next morning. No time to explore the towns or enjoy the hotel amenities. The itinerary was a joke for these times talking about enjoying time at the pool or local markets when we arrived so late. Little to no culture in the Thailand tour. We felt cheated on learning about Thailand, and it was exhausting. We would recommend travel talk do up some FAQs for travellers speaking about visas, (some wasted money on a Cambodian e visa and photo, neither of which was needed) currencies, water consumption, luggage limits well before the trip (were told limits 3 days before when we had already left home). Tell people inclusion fees must be paid in cash so people can plan for this. No credit card option is available. So be prepared to visit the atm regularly. The overall itinerary needs to be updated as prices are not current and some places have been closed since Covid and substitutions were made. Some optional activities were not available. Our actual tour ended 2 days before it should have with the Thailand guide leaving us Friday afternoon and we were on own own the rest of that day, Saturday and Sunday morning. Look for hotels closer to things to do in the cities. Some were more than 30 minutes away from anything and nothing around for restaurants. Overall, we could recommend Vietnam and perhaps Cambodia, but not Thailand.
Should have been called a “Temple Tour” as we visited more temples than anything else. Mostly the hotels were good with the exception of The Wink hotel, which was changed pretty much last minute from the Paragon Saigon Hotel, which was 3 star at best. It was a shame that we didn’t get to spend more time in these hotels - boarding the bus at 7 a.m and reaching the next hotel at 6:45 p.m, still needing to get dinner just for a repeat experience the next day was really not enjoyable. Moreover, during these 12 hour tours, our stops were for temples and one unspectacular lake; very disappointing. The speed boat ride to Cambodia was also disappointing, we were jammed in tight and seating was so low we couldn’t see anything. Then on arrival at Cambodia, we were faced with a very steep ramp to pull our luggage up and NO ONE to help- no porters for us but other tours also disembarking there had porters???

In general, the tour was excellent. The tour leader, Ha, was very responsive at all times. The hotels throughout the tour were good. Just one suggestion: Although we received a link with the daily activities, it lacked detailed start and end times. Overall, I highly recommend this tour.
I had today a tour in Phnom Penh showing me around the city but as well to points of interest that I wanted to have myself. The agency organized everything very well ; the tour guide was very informative giving a lot of details I enjoyed the tour very much and made it an excellent round up of my visit to Cambodia. Continue please like this to show the beautiful parts of your country to the world! Thank you very much

Thailand Trip FAQs

When is the best time/month to travel to thailand.

With such a warm climate all year round, Thailand is such a great destination to travel. Whether you decide to explore the bustling streets of Bangkok, dive into the crystal-clear waters of the islands, or indulge in the vibrant street food in the north, Thailand has it all. Don't worry too much about the occasional tropical showers; it’s a refreshing break from the heat before the sun comes back out. We operate our small group tours in Thailand all year round.

How many days in Thailand is enough?

We recommend setting aside 2-3 weeks for your solo trip to Thailand. With so much to explore and experience, it's important to allow yourself enough time to fully immerse in the wonders of this incredible country. Navigating the various transportation options can be overwhelming at first, but fear not! Our tours in Thailand are designed to take away all the hassles and worries of planning your trip and travelling alone. We’ll handle all the tough/boring stuff, giving you the freedom to enjoy each and every day to the fullest 🙌🏼

Do I need a visa to travel Thailand?

For most travellers, Thailand is a very easy country to visit with a simple ‘Visa on Arrival’ process. This includes a long list of different countries including; UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavia and most of Europe. Be sure to do your own research, as each country/passport will have different entry requirements, and the rules can often change. It's your responsibility to ensure you've ticked all the necessary boxes to enter Thailand hassle-free. *You must check your visa eligibility as we are not visa experts. The information above is general in nature. Here’s a blog that we put together to help; ‘An Unofficial Visa Guide to Asia & Australia’.

What injections/vaccinations do I need for Thailand?

Similar to visas, we are not medical professionals and would hate to give you false or misleading information. We recommend you book an appointment with your doctor or local pharmacy to discuss your travel plans and what precautions you need to be aware of. They will provide up-to-date guidance and will no doubt have your vaccination/immunisation history on file. All the destinations and areas we travel to are generally low-risk, but best to be on the safe side! Click here for a useful resource provided by the UK NHS website.

What about COVID-19 travel restrictions in Thailand?

It's always a good idea to check whether your destination or airline requires you to be COVID-19 vaccinated or tested to travel. It's your responsibility to ensure you arrive on tour with us in Thailand without any issues. Click here for a useful resource provided by the UK government.

What kind of people join these group tours?

It doesn't matter whether you're travelling solo, with a friend, or adventuring as a couple. Our trips attract a variety of different people from all corners of the world with a common goal of having the BEST time with like-minded people. Our trips are super popular for people looking to explore new places but don't want the worry of doing it alone or don't have the time to plan a trip themselves. Jumping on a group tour in Thailand is a super popular, convenient and hassle-free way to travel!

Are group tours in Thailand worth it? Why would I not just travel solo?

Planning a solo trip can be daunting, requiring careful consideration and a lot of time. But guess what? Our Thailand group tours are designed to make your life easier and your travel experience stress-free! From the moment you land, we handle all the logistics and nitty-gritty details, including airport pickup, comfortable accommodations, seamless transportation, engaging local activities, and delicious meals. With our tours, you can kick back, relax, and enjoy your adventure in Thailand, knowing that every aspect has been expertly taken care of.

I am looking to come alone, do many people travel solo?

Yes, absolutely! Most people actually come alone, with there often being a few people travelling together either as friends or as a couple. Our trips are perfect for solo travellers as you'll make friends from the moment you arrive, and you'll have the confidence and security of doing it as a group.

How much money do you need for 2 weeks in Thailand?

Once you've booked your flights, paid off your trip and got some solid travel insurance, you'll be all set for that Thailand adventure. We suggest bringing no less than £300/$400, but this should be the bare minimum. We suggest working from an average of £400-500/$500-700 over 2 weeks, this will cover things like shopping, drinks, extra meals and anything else you fancy treating yourself to... maybe a few massages!?

What should I book first, the flights or the tour?

Great question! We always suggest getting the trip locked in first before booking flights. This way, you won’t be left disappointed if the trip goes full and you’ve already booked your flights. There are usually plenty of flight tickets available, but the spaces are limited with our trips, and the trips fill up pretty fast. We suggest booking your trip first, followed by your flight, and then purchasing your travel insurance to cover all eventualities. Getting these three out of the way as soon as possible is a good idea.

How far in advance do you recommend booking my trip to Thailand?

The average traveller typically books their trip 3-4 months in advance, which usually means there are plenty of options when it comes to dates. If you decide to book last minute, be prepared for limited availability. If you have your heart set on a specific date or trip, consider placing a deposit right away.

I’ve been looking at a few companies, what makes Feel Free Travel different?

If you're asking this question, you've probably not read what our incredible travellers are saying in the reviews . You would have noticed already that we are insanely passionate about sharing life-changing experiences with our groups. When we travel, it's more like a group of mates with that one friend who thankfully knows where they're going. Our group sizes are small and intimate, averaging 12-16 travellers. If you've not already, click here to join the 'Feel Free Family - Facebook Group' .

Is it possible to book a private tour of Thailand with a group of friends?

We specialise in bringing solo travellers together who arrive as complete strangers and soon become best friends/extended travel family. With that being said, we have been known to offer private tours subject to availability. If you send us an email to [email protected] one of the team will be in touch and see what we can do… no promises!

Group tours for every type of LGBTQ+ traveler

W hat’s the recipe for the perfect vacation? Start with a dream destination. Stir in unique cultural experiences, exquisite food, and one-of-a-kind accommodations. Add a double dose of safety, knowing every tourism partner has been vetted for LGBTQ+ inclusivity. And sprinkle with friendships that last a lifetime.

Joining a group trip takes all the stress out of travel. You benefit from decades of travel experience, existing partnerships with local guides, and itineraries customized for queer travelers — all without having to plan, coordinate or worry.

Explore the world with these upcoming LGBTQ+ group tours.

Ireland with KelliGregg Travel

Be the Queen of the Castle! Irish eyes will smile when KelliGregg Travel returns to Ireland for an all-LGBTQ+ luxury vacation. Starting in Dublin , the week-long group tour visits Cork , Ennis, Galway, Derry, and Belfast (among others) and includes stays at the five-star Ashford Castle and Lough Eske Castle.

Expect musical pub crawls, walking tours, food tours, and a stop at the Cliffs of Moher, named a UNESCO Global Geopark. KelliGregg Travel has over 20 years of experience and welcomes the entire community with vacations that tend to span the expansiveness of LGBTQ+ travelers. October 16-25, 2024

Argentina with EveryQueer

What’s new, Buenos Aires ? EveryQueer is bringing just a little touch of queer quality to Argentina this fall. Prioritizing groups of queer women, transgender and nonbinary people, EveryQueer’s mission is to create a welcoming community for those who don’t see themselves in mainstream travel.

Start with vapor rainbows in Iguazu Falls on the Argentinian-Brazilian border and end with rainbow flags at one of the largest lesbian parties in the world, Fiesta Rose Girls in Buenos Aires. In the process, you’ll explore B.A.’s queer culture and historical landmarks and even learn to tango — with a queer twist, of course. Then show off your new moves atop a float at the Buenos Aires Pride parade.  October 26 – November 4, 2024

Thailand with Out Adventures

If the world’s your oyster after one night in Bangkok , you’ll be dangling in pearls after nine nights in Thailand, including Chiang Mai , Krabi, and Phuket. Thailand may soon become the first nation in Southeast Asia to recognize same-sex marriage . The bill passed the House of Representatives in March and is poised to become law.

The Out Adventures “Temple & Beaches” group tour perfectly balances culture and relaxation with a dose of queer nightlife. Visit some of Thailand’s most revered temples in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, kayak through the sea caves of Phang Nga Bay, visit an elephant sanctuary, and dance the night away in Bangkok’s Silom neighborhood .  February 7-16, 2025

Australia with Brand g Vacations

Your heart will go “padam, padam” during Brand g Vacations’ 14-day LGBTQ+ land tour of Australia. Explore Sydney and Melbourne’s urban sights and nightlife, and venture beyond the tourist trail with stops in Adelaide, Port Lincoln, and Tasmania.

You’ll enjoy private day cruises in Tasmania and Port Lincoln, encounters with kangaroos in Cleland Wildlife Park, and a wine tour at the High Sands Grenache vineyard. Save a little energy for the loco-motion; the Brand G experience also includes VIP treatment at Sydney’s Mardi Gras celebration, with a private bar, gourmet food, and guest DJs.  February 16 – March 3, 2025

India with Source Journeys

Holy Holi! Vibrant culture takes center stage during Source Journeys’ 12-day India tour, visiting sites revered by Islam, Sikh, Hindu, and Buddhist faiths. Begin with touring the bazaars and ancient UNESCO sights of Delhi, fly to Agra for a private tour of the Taj Mahal, visit the “Pink City” of Jaipur, and see Udaipur from an exclusive boat ride on Lake Pichola.

Along the way, you’ll celebrate Holi, the Hindu “Festival of Colors, Love and Spring,” by lighting the bonfire at a local home before joining the party at a palace in Jaipur. Evenings are spent at five-star hotels, including the Rambagh Palace and the Oberoi Amarvilla, with uninterrupted views of the Taj Mahal.  March 8-19, 2025

A world of adventure awaits every LGBTQ+ traveler

In a world as diverse and vibrant as the LGBTQ+ community itself, finding the perfect getaway that resonates with your spirit and welcomes you with open arms is not just a dream — it’s a reality waiting to be explored.

Through the enchanting lands of Ireland, the lively streets of Argentina, to the serene beaches of Thailand, these group tours offer more than just a travel experience; they are a gateway to discovering new cultures, forming lifelong friendships, and creating memories that will be cherished forever.
