Flying With a Vape: A Guide to Traveling With Vape Gear

Versed Vaper V Logo Red Final

Your favorite vape and e-liquid can be excellent creature comforts to keep you from getting homesick when traveling. Not only that, strict smoking laws means vaping can oftentimes be your best option when trying to get your nicotine fix abroad. However, as vape and e-cigarette laws across the world become stricter, there are some considerations you need to make before you pack your gear for an upcoming trip. We will go over some of the best tips to know when traveling with a vape, as well as answer some of the most pertinent questions you may have when traveling domestically and internationally from the United States.

What are the rules for flying with a vape?

Knowing the rules for traveling with a vape and vape juice can save you a massive headache with TSA. There can be strict rules on traveling with your vape , from the size of batteries you can pack, to even where and how you pack your device. It’s always a great idea to consult TSA and the airline you have chosen to fly with directly to ensure you meet all of their requirements.

These rules can differ from airline to airline, but the general rule outlined by TSA is that your device must be in your carry-on luggage. Failing to do so will likely result in your vape or e-cigarette being seized if you are caught with it in your checked-in luggage.

The reason vapes are not allowed in check-in baggage is due to the increased likelihood of the lithium batteries exploding or combusting in the cargo hold as a result of decreased air pressure.

Can I bring vape juice on a plane?

Yes, vape juice is allowed on a plane. E-liquids can be placed in either your checked baggage or your carry-on hand luggage. There are still regulations placed on vape juices that you need to know when packing your setup.

As with all liquids, airlines enforce strict rules on the quantities of vape juice you can travel with. Ensure your e-juices are in containers no larger than 3.4 oz or 100 ml. You can bring as many liquids as can fit in a 1-quart or 950 ml bag for carry-on luggage. However, this counts for all liquids, including things like creams and aerosols.

You can pack additional vape juice in your checked-in baggage, but the air pressure in the cargo hold could lead to spillage during the flight. Your favorite flavors might be great for vaping, but who wants their clothing to be wet and smelling of them?

Tips for packing a vape and e-liquids

Here are some of the best tips for traveling with your vape supplies:

  • Pack light – it’s best to leave your coil kits and unnecessary items at home as these can be lost or cause unnecessary complications with security
  • Opt for a disposable or pod system – for vape connoisseurs, this might leave you with a less enjoyable experience, but it will save you great efforts on a short trip. That being said, there are some excellent pod devices available nowadays.
  • Put your batteries in your carry-on
  • Ensure your device cannot be activated accidentally
  • Try a nicotine alternative for long flights – there are great ways to get your nicotine fix mid-flight
  • Leave your THC and CBD liquids at home – traveling with THC and even CBD can be risky or straight up illegal
  • Avoid packing unopened or very full bottles of vape juice – they can expand and leak or burst due to cabin pressure
  • Try nicotine salts – their higher nicotine strength means you might need to bring less vape juice along for the trip
  • Prioritize your vape juice – purchase things like deodorant, toothpaste and other toiletries at your destination. This will let you pack more e-liquid in your 1-quart carry-on bag.

How to travel with batteries

An additional consideration to make when bringing batteries for your vape is how they need to be packed to be compliant. As outlined by the FAA, here are the proper procedures for packing your spare vape batteries:

  • The most important rule of them all – pack all batteries in your carry-on luggage
  • Know your size limits – 2 grams of lithium per battery for non-rechargeable batteries & less than 100 Wh per battery for rechargeable batteries
  • Only bring enough batteries for yourself. Otherwise you could be questioned by authorities regarding distribution or sale
  • Leave the batteries in their packaging or put tape over the end terminals
  • Never travel with damaged batteries

For those wanting a more in-depth breakdown, the FAA has published these guidelines under their Pack Safe page.

Can I take CBD on an airplane?

CBD is allowed if you are flying domestically within the United States, granted the product contains less than 0.3% THC.

The same rules apply for all liquids, so make sure you do not have more than three ounces. This has been confirmed by the TSA themselves.  “Products that contain hemp-derived CBD oil or are FDA-approved are generally legal & can fly,” the FDA tweeted.

That being said, if you are unsure of the THC percentage or are generally uneasy traveling with CBD, the best course of action is to simply purchase whatever you need when you reach your destination, if possible.

If you are flying outside of the United States, take care to look up the laws surrounding CBD in the country that you are flying to. It may or may not be legal, so it’s a good idea to find out before you take your CBD with you.

If in doubt, leave your CBD products at home. CBD is becoming more and more accepted globally, meaning you probably won’t have to go without it.

Can I take THC Vapes on a plane?

It’s not recommended to fly with weed or THC vape cartridges. In the United States, cannabis remains illegal in the eyes of federal law. This means that even if you are flying from a state where THC vapes are legal, to another state with the same laws, you are still subject to federal law while in the airports and during the flight.

This means that there is huge risk involved with flying with your favorite cannabis products.

It is okay to travel with a dry herb vape or cannabis vaporizer, provided that it does not contain any cannabis residue of any kind.

The catch here is that it can be hard to ensure that your device is completely residue free, especially if it’s a device that you use all the time. That being said, the safest and best idea is to leave your cannabis vape at home.

If you are flying to a country where marijuana is illegal, you can land yourself in huge trouble by bringing weed, THC vapes, or THC cartridges.   Traveling with THC vapes or cartridges is not advisable. The best idea is to leave your THC and cannabis related products at home.

Can you vape on an airplane?

No, you cannot vape on an airplane. There is absolutely no airline that allows the use of vapes and e-cigarettes. In fact, you can be subject to some hefty fines for vaping on a plane, ranging from $2 to $4,000.

And just in-case it needs to be said: don’t try to outsmart the security systems. Tampering with the smoke detectors in the airplane toilets, which is a federal offense and will land you additional fines of up to $2,000.

This means you could face $6,000 worth of fines for vaping. The risk-reward ratio definitely isn’t worth it.

Another regulation to know is that you cannot charge your vape on an airplane either, so be sure to do this before you depart if you want to vape when you land at your destination.

Can you vape in an airport?

The answer is yes and no. Some airports do allow travelers to vape, but many do not. It’s recommended to either check with the specific airport ahead of time or keep an eye out for signage around the terminals. It’s very likely that you won’t be allowed to vape within the airport. In this case, some airports will have designated smoking areas that comply with local laws. These areas are typically vape-friendly.

Best Nicotine Alternatives for Traveling

NIIN Tobacco Free Nicotine Pouches

Knowing that you can’t vape on the plane and in some airports, many of us will need to make alternate arrangements if using vapes for smoking cessation. With some flights lasting over 10 hours, there will be possible signs of nicotine withdrawal for those who prefer high nicotine vapes or smoke cigarettes.

Thankfully, there are a number of great alternatives that will carry you over to your destination without having to worry about the discomforts we all get without our frequent hits of nicotine.

Nicotine gum, patches and even nicotine pouches like snus are all viable options when onboard an airplane. Again, it’s best to always check ahead of time with your specific airline, but as of writing there are no laws prohibiting any of these items. Just be sure to check the amount of these products you are legally allowed to enter your destination with.

Chewing tobacco is another alternative that you might consider, but this isn’t recommended. While you are allowed to freely move through TSA with chewing tobacco, problems can arise if you intend to use it during the flight. Chew isn’t discreet and, quite frankly, can be unpleasant for non-chewers. Again, if you do pack chewing tobacco, be sure to check the laws regulating it at your destination.

International Vaping Laws – Plan your trip!

There is always some degree of due diligence that international travelers need to do. Knowing the laws of a country before you even set foot within it can save you a lot of headache down the line. Vaping is no exception. With a complicated legal landscape on vaping in even the most progressive countries, it comes as no surprise that there are still countless countries that have strict vaping laws.

These laws can range from the prohibition of sale of vape products to even vaping itself being illegal. This is where planning can save you from heartbreak when you run out of supplies on a long trip. Do a bit of research on the country you are heading to and gauge the quantities of batteries, coils and vape juice you will need to sustain yourself. Don’t be the guy that has five bottles of liquid and plenty of batteries but can’t vape because they left their replacement coils at home.

If you are traveling to the EU, you should note that there is a limit of 20 mg/ml on vape juice. This means that even though your favorite brands might be available for purchase, they might be at a lower strength. So, if you find yourself preferring a higher strength liquid, you should pack this in advance as well.

The following list will give you an idea of vaping laws around the world. This list should not be solely relied on when traveling to these countries. Proper research into the vaping laws of the country should be done before bringing any vaping devices or eliquid with you.

Countries Where Vaping is Legal (There May be Restrictions)

  • Afghanistan
  • Canada — Limit of 20 mg/ml on vape juice sold.
  • Czech Republic
  • Indonesia – Subject to taxation.
  • Ivory Coast
  • Jamaica – Importation requires a government permit.
  • Liechtenstein
  • Netherlands
  • New Zealand
  • Philippines
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Switzerland – Vaping ban was overturned in 2018 after a court appeal.
  • United Arab Emirates
  • United Kingdom — L imit of 20 mg/ml on vape juice sold.
  • United States

Countries Where Vaping is Banned

  • Antigua and Barbuda
  • Australia – Vaping itself is legal. However, the sale or importation of nicotine containing e-liquid is illegal. Apart from pharmacies dispensing nicotine vaping to patients with a prescription, it is illegal for any other Australian retailers, including vape stores, to sell nicotine vaping products.
  • Brunei Darussalam
  • Cambodia – Completely banned.
  • Gambia – Completely banned.
  • India – Completely banned.
  • Japan – Electronic cigarette cartridges and devices for atomizing liquids are regarded as medical devices. When importing these, only one device (or two if a spare one is required) can be cleared through the customs clearance. If you wish to bring ejuice into Japan, the amount that can be cleared by customs is up to 120 ml (liquid).
  • N. Korea – Completely banned.
  • Lebanon – Completely banned.
  • Nicaragua – Completely banned.
  • Qatar – Completely banned.
  • Singapore – Completely banned. Possession is also a crime and can carry a fine of up to $1500.
  • Thailand – If you are found with vaping devices or eliquid they may be confiscated and you could be fined or sent to prison for up to 10 years if convicted. Their sale or supply is also banned and you could face a heavy fine or up to 5 years imprisonment if found guilty.
  • Timor-Leste
  • Turkmenistan
  • Vatican City – Completely banned.

To Summarize

Packing accordingly for air travel will always require some well thought out planning. Bringing your vape along for the journey adds even more of a need to plan well. There are rules governing pretty much every aspect of traveling, including before you even set foot on the plane.

Checking the rules with airports, airlines and foreign countries are all crucial to an enjoyable trip. When it comes to packing, you want to pack not only smart, but also in compliance with all regulations you could be subject to in your travels. Knowing these rules will also keep you out of unnecessary trouble and save you a headache or two.

Follow the rules, use our tips, and enjoy your travels.

Drake Equation

Can You Bring Vape Juice On A Plane

If you’re a new vaper and are traveling soon, you might be wondering if you can bring vape juice on a plane? Here’s everything you need to know…

If you have a trip coming up and you haven’t traveled with your vape gear before, you might be feeling a little antsy about it – can you even take a vape device on a plane, let along vape juice?

First of all, relax: you can take ALL of your vape gear with you when you travel on a plane , you just have to know how to do it correctly and, most importantly, what you can and cannot do.

Let’s start with vape juice.

Can You Take Vape Juice on a Plane?

When it comes to taking vape juice on a plane, this is the simplest aspect of traveling with your vape gear. You can take vape juice onboard a plane in both your carry-on bags as well as your checked bags and luggage.

HOWEVER, you can ONLY bring up to 100ml of vape juice on a flight – and that includes in all your bags, carry-on, and checked.

Can You Bring Vape Juice On A Plane-1

For this reason, you’re best off bring a selection (of up to 10) 10ml vape juice bottles and keeping them on your person when flying. This way you’ll know exactly where they are at all times.

Another tip? Do not open your vape juice bottles, keep them sealed. The reason for this is simple. The pressure inside an airplane will cause open bottles of vape juice to leak – and you do not want that.

So always travel with fresh, unopened bottles of vape juice. This goes for your vape device too: make sure it is 100% empty before you get on the plane. If you don’t, the vape will leak in your pocket and cause a right mess.

How Much Vape Juice Can I Take on A Plane?

  • Hand-Luggage & Carry-On Bags – up to 100ml of vape juice
  • Checked Bags & Luggage – Up to 100ml of vape juice. And make sure it is in plastic bottles too; glass bottles are considered a safety hazard.

Most airlines recommend that passengers place bottles in a quart-sized clear zip-lock bag. You will have to do this before boarding the plane, usually when you go through security.

Airlines That Have BANNED Vape Juice & Vapes

When traveling with vape juice, you need to make sure that vaping is legal in the country you’re traveling to. For instance, vaping is illegal in Hong Kong and it is illegal to carry vapes on ANY plane going to or from Hong Kong.

I learned this lesson the hard way a couple of years back and was nearly arrested on my flight out of Hong Kong for having a couple of vape pens and vape juice on me. I got away with it, but plenty of people don’t – so always plan ahead.

FlyBe also prohibits ANY of its passengers from bringing vapes or vape juice on its planes.

TSA Guidelines on Vape Juice & Vape Products

Here’s the official line from the TSA on what vape products you can and cannot bring onto a plane in the United States:

The FAA prohibits these devices in checked bags. Battery-powered E-cigarettes, vaporizers , vape pens, atomizers, and electronic nicotine delivery systems may only be carried in the aircraft cabin (in carry-on baggage or on your person). Check with your airline for additional restrictions. Remove all electronic cigarette and vaping devices from carry-on bags if checked at the gate or planeside – TSA .

As always, if you’re concerned about what you can and cannot bring with you, just give your airline a call. They will be able to quickly tell you what you can and cannot bring.

I’ve traveled pretty extensively in the past five years and, with the exception of my incident in Hong Kong, I haven’t had any issues with traveling with my vape gear.

My advice for anyone about to travel with a vape would be to take a pod vape , a selection of 10ml vape juice bottles, and keep them all in your carry-on luggage.

And before you ask, no, you’re not allowed to vape on planes. If you do, you could get yourself arrested and/or fined.

If you are caught vaping on a flight then you could face heavy fines or be banned from the airline. Last year, a man was banned from flying with Spirit Airlines for life after using his e-cigarette in the bathroom, leading to an emergency landing of the plane – The Sun

Traveling with Vape Juice: TSA and Airline Regulations

' src=

According to TSA regulations, you can bring vape juice on a plane in both your carry on and checked bags.

But there are restrictions if you pack vape juice in your carry on – and if you’re flying internationally, there are definitely a few things you must know.

Table of Contents

  • 1.1 Carry on Bags
  • 1.2 Checked Bags
  • 2 You Can Also Bring Nic Salt
  • 3 You Can’t Bring Vape Juice on All International Flights
  • 4 How to Pack Vape Juice for Air Travel
  • 5 Don’t Vape At the Airport
  • 6 Pack Your Vape and Batteries in Your Carry On
  • 7 You Might Be Able to Bring CBD Oil

Can You Bring Vape Juice on a Plane?

Carry on bags.

You can pack vape juice in your carry on, but only in containers that are no larger than 3.4oz/100ml.

This is due to the TSA’s 3-1-1 Rule that prohibits passengers from bringing any liquids (as well as gels and aerosols) in their carry on in containers larger than 3.4oz/100ml.

If the bottle of vape juice you want to bring in your carry on exceeds this limit, it will be confiscated by a TSA agent.

Checked Bags

You can bring vape juice on a plane in your checked bags with no quantity limits.

Even if your bottles of vape juice don’t exceed 3.4oz/100ml, we still recommend packing them in your checked bags because you will only be able to fit approximately 25 ounces or 7-8 bottles of 3.4oz/100ml liquids, gels, and aerosols in your carry on, which includes all your other toiletries.

You Can Also Bring Nic Salt

You can bring nic salt on a plane in both your carry on and checked bags, though if packed in your carry on, any bottle must not exceed 3.4oz/100ml.

You Can’t Bring Vape Juice on All International Flights

Whether you can bring vape juice on an international flight depends on where you are flying to.

Many countries around the world have restrictions on vaping products, with some countries not allowing you to vape in public while others outright banning vaping products altogether.

While this doesn’t necessarily mean that you won’t be able to bring your vape and e-liquid into the country, finding supplies like batteries and vape juice could be impossible depending on the legality of vape products in the country you are flying to.

The following countries have some of the strictest regulations in the world when it comes to vaping.

  • Australia : E-liquid containing nicotine is illegal to sell or import.
  • Argentina : The sale, importation and manufacturing of e-cigarettes is banned in Argentina.
  • Brazil : The sale and importation of e-cigarettes is illegal in Brazil.
  • China : Non-tobacco flavored e-cigarettes are banned from sale in China
  • Hong Kong: The sale or possession of nicotine-based e-cigarettes is illegal in Hong Kong. You also can’t bring nicotine pouches on a plane either.
  • India : There is a ban on the sale and production of e-cigarettes in India.
  • Iran : The sale or distribution of e-cigarettes is illegal in Iran.
  • Japan : E-cigarettes containing nicotine are banned unless the e-cigarette is registered as a medicinal product.
  • Nicaragua : In Nicaragua, vaping products are completely banned.
  • Singapore : It is illegal to possess, purchase and use vaporizers in Singapore.
  • Thailand : Thailand has banned e-cigarettes since 2014.

How to Pack Vape Juice for Air Travel

There are only a few things you need to keep in when bringing vape juice on a plane.

  • If any of your e-lqiuid or nic salt bottles are larger than 3.4oz/100ml, make sure that you only pack them in your checked bag.
  • If your e-liquid or nic salt bottles are less than 3.4oz/100ml, place them inside a clear resealable bag along with your other liquids, gels, and aerosols.
  • When going through airport security, take this bag out and place it in a screening bin.
  • Cabin pressure can cause bottles to expand, so it can be a good idea to only take partially used bottles that have some unused space at the top.

Don’t Vape At the Airport

You are not allowed to vape at either the airport or on a plane unless there is a designated smoking lounge at the airport where it is allowed.

If you are discovered vaping at the airport or on a plane, you will face a fine or even jail time if you are found to have tampered with a smoke detector, or failed to comply with a crew member’s instruction to stop vaping.

Pack Your Vape and Batteries in Your Carry On

According to TSA regulations, you can bring a vape pen on plane , but only if it is packed in your carry on.

This applies to all kinds of vaping devices, including disposable vapes .

The TSA also state that you “are required to take effective measures for preventing accidental activation of the heating element of the device when transporting the device.”

Spare batteries for your vape must also only be packed in your carry on.

Additionally, “each lithium-ion battery must not exceed a Watt-hour (Wh) rating of 100 Wh; or for lithium metal batteries, a lithium content of 2 grams”.

You Might Be Able to Bring CBD Oil

According to TSA regulations, you can bring CBD oil on a plane if it “contains no more than 0.3 percent THC on a dry weight basis or is approved by FDA”.

If not, it is illegal to do so.

Can you bring a vape on a plane?

Vaping devices like vape mods and vape pens can travel with you on airplanes. They can go in carry-on luggage or in your pockets. But never in checked luggage. That's for any kind of vapes that have lithium batteries.

While nicotine e-liquid or extra pods can be packed in either carry-on or checked bags, federally controlled substances like cannabis products—even small amounts, such as residue in devices—are prohibited on most United States flights. Don't risk it.

The advice in this article applies in most places around the world, although we specifically reference U.S. Transportation Security Administration regulations . Since there may be minor variations in how TSA vape rules are applied by different airlines even in the U.S., it’s best to check the specific airline rules before you fly. If you’re traveling to an unfamiliar country, you should also check the local vaping laws before you depart. Some countries have outright vape bans —in which case flying with a vape pen might be the least of your worries!

How to pack e-juice, batteries, and devices

Flying with vaping devices and batteries.

Because of concerns over fires in the cargo hold, all electronic devices and vape batteries must be carried onto the plane. You can’t pack them in checked baggage. This is a worldwide rule , with no exceptions. If you forget and your luggage is x-rayed by the baggage handlers, you’re liable to lose your devices and batteries, and find your suitcase and its contents roughed up. Or they might leave your luggage at the departure airport. So take your vape devices aboard in your cabin luggage (or in your pocket).

More tips for flying with vape devices:

  • If you take extra batteries, keep them in safe plastic battery cases to avoid accidents
  • If your mod uses external batteries, don’t forget a battery charger!
  • If your trip is short, consider taking a couple simple devices like disposable vapes . They’re easy to carry, they don't need a charger, and you won't have to pack separate e-liquid
  • Cabin pressure can make full tanks leak. Only fill them partially, or leave them empty till you arrive at your destination

Traveling with vape juice: important tips

All liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes carried onto the plane must be in 100 mL (or smaller) bottles, and must fit into a single 1-quart plastic bag, per TSA rules . That includes toothpaste, shampoo, hair gel, lip balm, deodorant—and e-juice too.

If you’re bringing more bottled vape juice than will fit in the 1-quart bag allowed in your carry-on, you’ll have to put it in your checked luggage. If you do that, double bag it to avoid arriving for your week-long vacation with a suitcase full of wet vanilla custard-smelling clothes! Good news: there’s no size limit for liquids in checked baggage, and pods and cartridges are also allowed.

Tips for flying with e-liquid:

  • Cabin pressure can make full bottles expand, or even split at the seams. Try to take partially used bottles that have some unused space at the top
  • Consider carrying e-juice in a higher nicotine strength than you usually use, so you don’t have to bring as much
  • European Union countries (and some others) have a 20 mg/mL nicotine limit. If you vape anything higher than that, bring it with you!

Alternative nicotine products for travelling

While your vape is likely your preferred way of consuming nicotine, there are alternative products that can make travelling a lot easier—especially when you’re travelling long distances and have no option to vape. Using alternative products, like nicotine toothpicks or pouches, is a great way to get through a long trip without being distracted all the way with nicotine cravings.

Without visible vapor, nobody knows you’re consuming nicotine. Nicotine pouches are an excellent option if you just want to handle your cravings, while nicotine toothpicks come with the added bonus of satisfying the hand-to-mouth habit that’s associated with both smoking and vaping.

Lucy Pouches

Lucy is an emerging name in alternative nicotine products. Started in 2019, Lucy makes gums, lozenges, and pouches. The Lucy pouches are aimed at flavor chasers that also want that jolt of nicotine that can be felt. With three tasty flavor options, Lucy pouches come in the slim variety and are available in 4 mg and 8 mg cans.

Although the TSA changed its CBD policy last year—following passage of the 2018 Farm Bill that legalized hemp production in the United States—it’s still risky to travel with CBD, even if your CBD oil (tincture) or vape juice is under the 0.3% THC limit. Even though the Farm Bill legalized CBD manufacture, it offered no protections to consumers who possess and use the products.

State CBD laws vary greatly: from no rules at all, to completely legal, to illegal and punishable like any other kind of cannabis product. The TSA says it doesn’t search for illegal drugs specifically, but the agency’s policy is to hand anything suspicious over to airport security, which is usually local police. CBD arrests at airports unfortunately do occur. But even if you ultimately walk away, you could spend a long time being questioned and waiting for your CBD products to be tested.

“Until the law is very, very clear, people are going to get arrested for possession of things that aren’t explicitly illegal,” says cannabis law expert Griffen Thorne. “The best thing for consumers to do is just not to bring it into any federal jurisdiction, period,” Thorne said. “Especially anywhere on a plane.”

The bottom line is that you’re still legally at risk carrying CBD products through airport security. The only absolute exception to that is Epidiolex, the CBD-based drug approved by the FDA in 2018 to treat seizure disorders.

We recommend not traveling with CBD of any kind.

Flying with weed, THC and delta 8 vape cartridges

Flying with vape cartridges or weed is risky. In the U.S., cannabis is federally illegal. After you pass security at the airport, while you're in the air, and up until you exit the airport at your destination, you’re subject to federal laws and can be charged with possession (or worse). While the TSA doesn’t actively search for drugs, they will turn you and your products over to airport security (usually local police) if they notice something. In some states and cities , local authorities may not care. In many they will.

Flying with empty vape pens or dry herb vaporizers is fine—as long as they’re completely clean of any cannabis residue. That means before you leave, get out Q-Tips and isopropyl alcohol and thoroughly scrub every millimeter of the vape, including the herb chamber, air path, mouthpiece, and even the outer surfaces. If you’re not certain that a drug-sniffing dog won’t be able to detect a molecule of cannabis in your vape, don’t take it with you.

Marijuana is illegal in most countries, and so are its concentrate, oil, and edible forms. If you’re not traveling to a country where cannabis is legal , remember that your dry herb vape or oil pen may be considered illegal contraband. Sometimes even countries where pot use is legal or tolerated have laws prohibiting possession of paraphernalia.

Flying with cannabis products is probably more trouble than it’s worth. Unless you live in Canada, and are flying between Canadian cities and not outside of the country, you’re likely to face problems. Even if authorities wind up letting you go, you might face an uncomfortable search, a long interview with security staff or police, and confiscation of your weed vapes. If you’re going to a country where it’s legal, it’s safer to buy and consume it there.

We recommend not traveling with cannabis or THC vape cartridges.

The same goes for delta 8 THC products. While hemp-derived cannabinoids like delta 8 and HHC are federally legal, confusing state laws and potential misunderstandings by TSA screeners and drug-sniffing dogs could cause problems you don’t want. Any kind of cannabis, legal or not, could lead to a long day of uncomfortable interactions with police, a missed flight, or worse.

What to expect from airport security

Tsa rules for vapes.

You already know the most important TSA vape rules: liquids in carry-on bags all go into a single 1-quart bag, and all electronic devices and lithium batteries must be carried onto the plane, and must go (along with the traveler) through security screening.

To the TSA, vaping devices are just another potential security threat. To prove that your huge 200-watt touchscreen mod isn’t an explosive, TSA screeners may ask you to turn it on, so make sure any device you carry onto the plane is already charged. That probably won’t happen with smaller devices like vape pens or pod vapes, but since you’re not allowed to charge vaping devices on the plane anyway, you might as well charge everything at home before you leave.

Finally, if you carry a coil-building kit wherever you go, be prepared to explain why you’re traveling with suspicious items like spools of wire, screwdrivers, and wire cutters. Consider using an atomizer with pre-wrapped coils when you fly—especially to countries where vaping may be completely unfamiliar and you don’t speak the local language.

Vaping in airports and on planes: is it allowed?

With one exception, it’s illegal to vape in airports—and it’s always illegal to vape on a plane. The exception is a designated smoking lounge. There aren’t many of these tar-stained glass boxes left though, so don’t count on finding one.

You could break the rules and risk a citation, or even ejection from the airport—which would mean missing your flight and defaulting on the price of your ticket. Once you board the plane, the risks grow. Can you bring a JUUL on a plane? Yes, but if you vape it, you’ll face the same penalties you would for smoking on a plane. You can be arrested and fined—or even jailed when you reach your destination.

A better idea is to find a suitable nicotine alternative to use while flying. Smokeless tobacco like snus, tobacco-free nicotine pouches, and nicotine gum and lozenges are all popular with nicotine users trapped in no-vape zones. They’re not as enjoyable as vaping, but they’re not going to get you in trouble with airport security either.

See you in the clouds!

Vapers have become an accepted part of travel culture, and with a little knowledge about the rules of air travel, we can peacefully co-exist with our non-vaping brethren in the friendly skies. If you’re a vaper taking a trip, a little planning will help your experience go smoothly.

But there’s no need to worry. Airport and airline staff have been dealing with vapers for more than a decade. As long as we respect the rules, we’ll get respect in return.

Have a great trip!

Can You Bring A Vape On A Plane? How To Travel With Your Vape (2022)

travel vape juice bottle

Are you planning on bringing your vape on a plane? You need to know what is and isn’t allowed before you try to bring your vape or vape products on the plane with you. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has specific regulations in place for vaping devices, and if you don’t follow them, you could have your device confiscated or be subject to other penalties.

In this article, we will discuss everything you need to know about bringing a vape on a plane! We will cover the rules and regulations that different airlines have in place, such as what is allowed in your checked baggage and carry-on bags, as well as more specific information like whether or not you can bring nicotine liquids on a plane and can you bring a vape on a plane. We will also give you some tips on how to make the process easier for you.

Are Vapes Allowed on Planes?

vape, electronic cigarette, uwell

So can you bring a vape on a plane?

Yes. Bringing vapes on planes is perfectly legal. However, vapes are only allowed when carried on one’s person or in your carry-on baggage. Carrying vapes in your checked luggage is strictly not allowed, according to the TSA security guidelines.

The reason why vapes are not allowed in checked luggage is that they are electronic devices, which means that they pose a fire risk during air travel.

Can You Vape on a Plane?

eliquid, ejuice, electronic cigarette

Vaping on a plane is illegal . It could warrant a hefty fine of up to $4,000 or worse, jail time. While these restrictions seem highly restrictive, they are meant to keep you safe.

When smoke detectors go off, you may not hear them, but the plane will be forced to take an emergency landing. And if the source of the scandal gets traced back to you, you may face a range of legal implications including paying a fine, jail time, or a ban from using the airline.

If your flight will be long and you will need to take nicotine, then consider carrying alternatives like nicotine gum for your travel.

Can You Vape at the Airport?

airport, woman, flight

Vaping at the airport is oftentimes, illegal. Airport regulations consider vaping as smoking. So just like you’d smoke in strictly designated areas at the airport, you should also vape from the same areas if any.

Stealth vaping is also not allowed, so make sure to avoid taking small hits in the bathrooms or someplace hidden. It’s crucial to check with the airline if they have smoking lounges to avoid run-ins with the law.

To be on the safe side, always avoid vaping at the airport and mid-air. In case you have a 13-hours flight and need your nicotine with you, consider making do with other forms of nicotine intake like nicotine pouches, nicotine gums, or nicotine toothpicks.

Can You Travel With Your Vape Supplies?

travel vape juice bottle

Aside from the vape pen itself, there are other vape devices that you may find the need to travel with. These include vape juice, vape tank, batteries, or other weed and THC supplies. Find out below whether you can travel with either one of these vape gear.

Can You Take Vaping Liquid on a Plane?

Yes. Vaping liquid is similar to all forms of liquid, from aerosols to gels, to creams to pastes, when traveling. The TSA vape rules and regulations for traveling with e-liquids state that you can carry vaping liquid in 100 ml (or less) bottles.

These must fit into a single one-quart plastic bag. It’s quite lenient as a one-quart plastic bag can fit as many as nine 100 ml bottles. The same bag could carry your toothpaste, hair gel, deodorant, and toothpaste too.

Any vaping juice exceeding the 100 ml bottle limit goes into your checked luggage since checked luggage has no size limit for liquids.

A quick tip is to always fill your vape tanks or e-liquid bottles partially. Flying at high altitudes the air pressure causes e-liquids to expand and your vape tank may leak into your luggage.

You don’t want to cause a mess of your baggage when the e-liquids spill over your clothes. Otherwise, you might as well leave them empty.

Flying With Vaping Devices and Batteries

It’s allowed to carry your vaping device on your person or in your carry-on baggage. However, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) highlights more clearly ways to pack batteries safely so you’re adhering to federal regulations during your travel. The FDA requires that:

  • As a safety precaution, you remove the lithium-ion battery from the electronic vaping device and place the vaping device in a protective case. Make sure to use a protective cover, safety latch, or locking device to prevent it from accidentally turning on.

Keep in mind that recharging the lithium-ion batteries or vaping device mid-air is strictly illegal.

Any vapes that have lithium batteries or charge electronically pose a fire risk. A case in point is a fire eruption on an American Airlines flight due to an e-cigarette ‘malfunctioning’ forcing the plane to make an emergency landing .

Don’t forget to also remove spare batteries from your checked bag, always carry any lithium-ion batteries in your hand luggage. Having a lithium battery in a pressurized cabin reduces its risk of exploding.

Flying With Weed and THC Vape Cartridges

Flying with weed and THC vape cartridges is extremely high risk. Weed and THC are federally illegal. This means that the checkpoints between the TSA and your final destination are subject to federal laws.

So, if a weed-sniffing dog happens to single you out for having any trace of weed and THC on you, you could be charged with possession or worse.

If you must carry your weed and THC vape devices, make sure they are empty and completely void of any weed and THC residue. Feel free to use Q-Tips and isopropyl alcohol to thoroughly scrub off every inch of the vape, from the mouthpiece to the weed chamber, and the outer surfaces.

If you’re still uncertain whether the vape is completely clean of any cannabis reside, it’s best to avoid carrying it to the airport with you.

It goes without saying that some countries have banned the use of cannabis in all its forms. So if you’re planning to carry your weed and THC vape cartridges, make sure their use is legal in your destination area, or else, they could be considered illegal contraband and confiscated at the checkpoints, or worse.

The likely exception is when traveling between Canadian cities. You’re less likely to have any issues since cannabis use is legal there. Better still, you may want to consider buying the weed and THC vapes from countries where they are legal rather than risking carrying them with you through TSA checkpoints.

Can You Travel with CBD and Hemp Vape Supplies?

Traveling with CBD and hemp vape supplies is a gray area. At the moment, traveling with hemp products is perfectly legal in the United States, provided CBD products contain less than the 0.3% THC limit.

Still, state laws and TSA regulations vary greatly. While some airports will allow you to travel with CBD and hemp vape supplies, others may confiscate, or give you a harder run-in with the law when the security in the airport decides these supplies are suspicious for illegal cannabis products.

Often, security checkpoint officers will forward any suspicious activity and products to local police, which may take plenty of time to test and clear your CBD products as legal to travel with.

For now, you may be safer avoiding carrying any CBD products or vape gear through airport security. At least until the law explicitly states that you can travel with CBD products or vape supplies through airports.

The only exception is if you’re using Epidiolex, for treating seizures, which the FDA approves.

Can You Travel with Your THC Vape Supplies?

Similar to traveling with weed and THC vape cartridges, traveling with THC vape gear is extremely high risk.

Since THC is illegal, except when used in CBD products, and even then, it must be in amounts, less than 0.3%, you’re generally on the safer side if you avoid traveling with your THC vape supplies, altogether.

Can You Take CBD Oil or Vape Juice on a Plane?

Taking CBD oil or vape juice on a plane has the same blurred lines as traveling with CBD and hemp vape gear. True, when your CBD oil or vape juice contains less than the legal 0.3% THC limit, airport security should let you through.

However, you don’t want to risk proving so at the airport. According to the TSA, airport security reports any suspicious substances to local police. They explicitly state that the final decision to allow items through the checkpoints lies with the TSA officer.

Worst case scenario, you’ll face an uncomfortable search, have a long interview with the police, and your products are confiscated. It’s commonplace for CBD arrests to occur at the airport, a case in point is a traveling grandmother who was jailed at the DFW Airport for traveling with CBD oil .

Overall, traveling with these products is likely more trouble than it’s worth, so it’s probably best to avoid carrying them, and instead, buy any CBD oil or vape juice you may need once you arrive at your destination.

Can I Bring a Vape on a Plane if I’m 18?

travel, airport, boarding pass

Bringing a vape on a plane when you’re under the 21 age limit for buying vaping products is, surprisingly, completely legal. The over 21 years of age rule on buying vapes often applies when buying the products.

However, at the airport, the TSA is in charge of the checkpoints with their main role to keep dangerous products off planes. TSA doesn’t normally enforce age restrictions on vape products.

Of course, only persons above the age of 21 can buy and use vapes. But if you were wondering whether you can bring one on a plane if you’re 18, the answer is yes.

Can You Bring a Weed Vape on the Plane?

travel vape juice bottle

Even though weed is legal in some states, it is still illegal at the federal level. This means that you cannot bring weed vapes on a plane even if you are going to a state where marijuana is legal.

The TSA is still under federal jurisdiction and TSA officers will confiscate your vape and you may be subject to fines or other penalties. If you are traveling to a state where marijuana is not legalized, leave your vape at home.

TSA Rules for Vapes

travel vape juice bottle

While the TSA allows bringing a vape on a plane, they do highlight rules to follow before getting to the airport, while at the airport, and during the flights. Let’s walk through what these rules are.

Vaping devices are electronics, which means that they can pose a fire risk when they are not safely packed. Here are the TSA rules for packing vaping devices safely.

  • Make sure to pack any electronic devices and vape spare batteries, including electronic cigarettes, vaporizers, vape pens, atomizers, and any other electronic nicotine delivery systems on your person or in your carry-on baggage.
  • Pack any vaping juice in 100 ml (or less) bottles in a carry-on bag packed within a single one-quart bag. Any vaping juice in more than 100 ml bottles should be packed in checked baggage.
  • Pack any lithium batteries on your person or in your carry-on hand luggage. This too should be protected to prevent short circuits. You can use the battery’s retail packaging or cover the battery terminals with tape, a battery case, a plastic bag, or a protective couch.

Vaping in Airports and on Planes

Airport security considers vaping at the airports and on planes as smoking cigarettes. This means that you can only vape at the airport in designated smoking areas.

These smoking areas may have clear labels, so you may want to check with the airline if they have such an area where you can vape, legally. Don’t try stealth vaping. Chances are you’re caught in a non-smoking area and ejected from the airport or have penalty run-ins with airport security.

During your flight, it’s illegal to vape. This is a commonplace rule that you follow at all times. Breaching it could mean jail time or paying a fine as high as $4,000.

Will the TSA Take My Vape Out of My Carry-on Luggage?

travel vape juice bottle

You should remove all electronic devices from your carry-on luggage for inspection. To avoid deep scrutiny, you may want to remove your vaping device and any spare lithium batteries from your carry-on bag at the airport checkpoints.

This process is similar to removing laptops from your carry-on bags at checkpoints. Once done, pack the vape pen back into your carry-on bag and take the bag with you to the aircraft cabin.

Always Be on the Loop on International Vaping Laws

travel vape juice bottle

International vaping laws tend to change frequently across different airlines and in most airports around the world. Some countries go as far as to ban the use of vapes, so always make sure to check with your individual airline and destination airport and check country vaping rules each time before your air travel.

Check the Local Vaping Laws of Your Destination Country

travel vape juice bottle

Countries from around the world have different rules when it comes to bringing vapes or e-cigarettes to their territories.

When traveling overseas, it’s always important to consider the local laws of vaping laws of the destination country. Several countries uphold bans on vaping. Others may allow vaping but in strictly designated areas.

These restrictions often apply to vaping supplies that may be regarded as contraband while passing through the airline security checkpoint. So always be sure to double-check the laws or ask the TSA agents before carrying a vape on a plane overseas.

Also, always prepare to explain the vaping devices, supplies, or coil-building kit items you have with you, especially in countries where vaping may be unfamiliar.

What to Expect From Airport Security

travel vape juice bottle

Security at the airport will flag any suspicious substances to local police. However, so long as you follow the TSA regulations for vapes, you’ll have a quick and easier time with airport security.

It’s key to note though that the security officers may not exercise care when assessing vapes, or any other electronic device.

The general rule of thumb is to cooperate fully with the security personnel and prepare to explain the vape and vaping supplies you have with you. For instance, whether it’s a nicotine vape, or contains CBD oils.

Always be open, honest, and willing to show them your vape device for inspection. A quick tip is to disassemble the vape into component parts so it’s easier to inspect.

travel vape juice bottle

So although you can bring a vape and electronic cigarettes on a plane its important that you always stay informed on vaping laws as different countries have different laws. Also, always check with your airline if you are in doubt, they will help explain what is permitted and what is not. Ultimately to stay safe of any drama you can opt carrying other nicotine supplements like pouches and gums.

Can You Bring a Vape / Vape Juice on a Plane?

Vaping has quickly become the preferred method of smoking across the US (and other parts of the globe) for many reasons. The convenience, lack of smell, flavor options, and the ability to control nicotine intake are just a few of the things users love about these handy electronic smoking devices.

But if you’re looking to travel any time soon, you’re probably wondering if it’s ok to bring your vaping device and vape gear on the plane.

The simple answer is: YES! It is completely legal to bring your vaping devices – such as vape mods and vape pens – on an airplane.

This said, in the US, flights are regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) with airports operating under federal jurisdiction by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Understanding the TSA-enforced guidelines about prohibited items, e-cigarettes and e-juice makes packing just a little less stressful – so here comes the fine print.

TSA Vape Rules At A Glance:

Where should i pack my vape for air travel, where should i pack my vape juice for air travel, final thoughts, can i vape in an airport, can i stealth vape on a plane, can i bring my vape on a plane if i’m underage, can i bring electronic cigarettes to canada or mexico, rules for juuls.

Your vape device has to go through airport security in your carry-on baggage (or inside a personal item like your purse, backpack, briefcase, etc.). Your electronic cigarette cannot go in your checked luggage.

You are permitted to bring individual e-liquid vape cartridges of up to 3.4oz (100mL) in your carry-on. Any container with a higher volume than 3.4oz/100mL has to go in your checked bags.

We’re now going to dig a little deeper into these TSA guidelines so you’ll be totally prepared for your next trip. This way you won’t get stuck at airport security being judged by TSA officers, or even worse, find yourself throwing out your precious e-cigarettes (or other vaping products) right before your flight.

Statistics show that 1 in 20 Americans use some type of vaping device or e-cig. The TSA created some fairly clear-cut regulations to ensure those who travel with vape devices fully understand these essential rules before their flight.

Essentially you are allowed to bring your nicotine vape device and e-liquid on a plane, provided they are packed properly.

It may seem more logical to stow e-cigarettes during your flight (i.e., in your checked bags). However, the cargo hold isn’t a pressurized cabin and as a battery-powered device, your vape is a fire risk when put in your checked luggage.

(If you’ve ever arrived at your destination to find your shampoo has exploded all over your stuff, you can understand the basic physics of air pressure in a non-pressurized space.)

The only way to safely (and legally) travel with your e-cigs is in your carry-on bag. In doing so, you not only follow US federal law, but you also ensure your vape is safe and sound.

Even if you think a little vape explosion is no big deal and won’t cause damage to the plane (don’t be that person), it is still incredibly annoying to open your bag and find that your vape is ruined and there is e-liquid all over your stuff.

And honestly, that is the best-case scenario!

We cannot stress this enough – as battery-operated electronic devices, vapes are a fire hazard if put in your checked baggage . Your vape pen could legitimately catch on fire and not only burn your suitcase to bits, but it could also put you and the other passengers in danger.

Moral of the story? Always pack your vape devices in your carry-on bag .

Now, let’s discuss what to do with your cartridges of e-juice.

While some TSA rules are clearly made for the safety of everyone on the plane, some seem pretty random. If you have been through a security screening at any point in the last two decades, you will have learned – maybe even the hard way – that you cannot bring any individual container of liquid over 3.4oz/100mL in your carry-on bags.

Thankfully, most vape pen cartridges only hold between .5mL and 1mL of e-liquid each and you should have no problem putting them in your carry-on. However, if you have an especially large cartridge, make sure to double-check how much e-liquid it holds at its max fill.

This is an important step because even when a larger cartridge is half empty, if the max volume of the container is higher than 3.4 oz/100mL, the TSA agents will not let you fly with it in your carry-on. You will need to pack it in your checked luggage before you go through security.

If you don’t know the max volume of your cartridges, it’s better to safely pack your e-liquids in checked baggage to ensure they don’t get confiscated.

Remember, just like any other liquids you take on a plane, you have to put your juice cartridges in a clear plastic bag for easy access and identification at security (and also to ensure the e-liquid doesn’t leak over all your things).

Now that you understand how you can safely and legally bring your e-cigarettes and vape juice bottles/cartridges on an airplane, you should be ready to fly!

But you may have a few more questions.

Don’t worry, we’re going to answer them. We want you to feel 100% confident heading out on your next adventure!

To recap: you can absolutely bring your vaping devices and vape juice with you on a plane.

However, there are very specific rules you need to follow to keep you and the other passengers safe and to make sure you don’t have to throw out your juice or have some TSA officer snoop through your stuff.

Here’s the breakdown (and a couple of extras) just so you don’t forget:

  • All electronic cigarettes of any kind must be packed in your personal items/carry-on bags (such as purses, backpacks, briefcases, etc.).
  • E-juice in a bottle or cartridge with a max volume of 3.4oz/100mL can be packed in your carry-on in a clear plastic bag. Any e-juice bottles/cartridges with a higher volume than 3.4oz/100mL (or if you are unsure of the max volume) will need to go in your checked bag.
  • Follow all local vaping laws while waiting at the airport. Using e-cigs is usually prohibited unless in a designated smoking lounge, and it is definitely still illegal to smoke anything in the airplane cabin itself. Yes, this includes stealth vaping . (Don’t even try to take a few puffs; getting caught breaking this law is so not worth it!)
  • All international airports follow the same protocols as the TSA regarding liquid allowances and where/how to pack e-cigarettes.
  • You can travel with a vape even if you’re not old enough to buy one.

If you think you’ve got this down, you should have a safe and easy flight to wherever you’re headed!

Frequently Asked Questions

Once again, bad news for vapers. You can only smoke either in the designated smoking sections or outside the airport (also usually in a designated area). It may be tempting to try and sneak a puff, but it is just as illegal as smoking a cigarette in a non-designated area.

After learning that your vape must be with you in your carry-on luggage, you may be thinking to yourself, is there any way to secretly vape on a plane?

The answer is simple: no, you cannot vape on a plane.

While vaping is considered quite discreet and generally undisruptive for non-smokers, it is also completely illegal to vape on a plane .

The TSA treats vaping on planes just like smoking cigarettes. Just one tiny vape cloud can get you removed from the flight, fined, or even arrested! (And trust us, no matter how smart you think you are, you will get caught.)

If you struggle with withdrawal on a long flight, we suggest using a suitable nicotine alternative such as smokeless tobacco, tobacco-free nicotine pouches, or good old-fashioned nicotine gum. Fortunately for you, in most places, you’ll be able to vape as soon as you get outside your destination airport.

If you are under 21, it’s your lucky day because yes, you can bring a vape on the plane!

In the US, it is illegal to purchase any tobacco products (including e-cigarettes and e-liquids) until you’ve reached the magical age of 21. However, it is not illegal to carry them with you on a plane!

In fact, even a passenger under the age of 18 can travel with a vape without fear of confiscation. (As long as your parents don’t catch you first!)

Planning to fly within North America? You can definitely bring a vape on the plane! You can safely and legally bring your gear across the border as long as you pack it according to the TSA rules we outlined in the previous sections.

JUULs have become such common smoking devices, and they are so stylishly designed, that you may forget they are even in the same category as older, bulkier vapes.

But they are vape devices, and they’re also powered by lithium batteries (which carry certain restrictions for traveling).

So all the same rules apply to traveling with your JUUL. You can bring it on the plane, but only in your carry-on, and you treat the pods the same as any cartridge – packed either in your carry-on or in your checked luggage.

Hopefully, after all this, you’re feeling extremely knowledgeable and confident about the rules for flying with your vape. Have a safe trip!

Can I Bring A Vape on A Plane in 2022? A Simple Guide to Travel with Vapes

Can I Bring A Vape on A Plane in 2022? A Simple Guide to Travel with Vapes

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the chances of air travel is sharply decreased. But it is impossible for us to stay in our home city permanently as we have experienced home isolation for a bloody long time. We need to travel and meet new friends. Besides, sometimes we need to fly on a plane for work or other personal affairs. As a vaper, a vape can be regarded as one of our companions and it is very hard for us to go abroad without it. The Ultimate Guide to Traveling with Your Vape: Best Practices, Destinations and More

Things to Keep in Mind While Traveling

Flying with your vape.

Knowing how to fly with a vape is one of the most important parts of traveling with your device. When vapes were first designed, they were much smaller and featured much less powerful batteries. Now, vapers are able to customize their devices with larger, longer-lasting batteries and refillable tanks. But, with this new technology comes new responsibility. TSA and all airlines have  implemented strict regulations  on how travelers can bring their vapes along with them. If you’re going to bring a vape on your trip, it absolutely must go in your carry-on bag. In fact, every airline employee is now trained to ask about electronic cigs before tagging your checked bag. The biggest risk with leaving vapes in checked luggage is that there is a much greater chance that the battery may start a fire while under the plane. Instead, toss the vape in your carry-on and you’ll be good to go.

While smoking cigarettes has long been prohibited on airplanes, vaping is now facing the same restrictions. Regardless of how you feel about this rule, it is strictly enforced, so keep the vape put away during your flight. Even though the vapor is odorless and disappears within seconds, it can be disturbing to other passengers who are not vapers. Keep yours in your carry-on and wait until you’ve reached your destination to take a hit.

Other Vaping Regulations

As vapes become increasingly popular, states have responded by implementing regulations to monitor their use. If you’re traveling over state lines, you should be aware of your destination’s regulations to avoid running into any trouble during your trip. Some states have enacted laws that ban the use of vapes anywhere that cigarette smoking is prohibited, including inside public establishments. While other states have not yet enforced this same policy, you may still find yourself in a restaurant or bar that does not permit vaping in the building. Be aware of these regulations ahead of time to make sure you’re vaping legally.

Banned Vapes

Off-Limit Destinations

If you’re traveling outside of the United States, you may be surprised to know that there are quite a few countries that have banned vapes altogether. It’s important to research which countries have implemented these strict laws before you head out with your vape in hand.  Many countries throughout the world have made it illegal to sell vapes  or nicotine products, but it is not illegal to use them, which means you can hit your vape all you’d like without facing serious repercussions. However, if you’re visiting a country where sales are prohibited, you’ll probably want to  s tock up on Mi Pod pods , e-liquid and other supplies before the trip as it will be impossible (and illegal) to acquire them once you’ve landed.

Thailand and South American countries are two of the most popular travel destinations that have strict regulations on vaping. If you’re planning a trip to either place, make sure you do your research before you go and familiarize yourself with what each country does and does not allow.

Charge Your Battery Before a Road Trip

This is an easy mistake to make, but if you’re stuck in a car on a long drive and your vape dies, you’ll definitely regret it. While some vapes are capable of being charged in the car, this isn’t always the case. It’s best to start the trip out with a fully charged battery to keep you going during the road trip. It’s also a smart idea to  pack a few extra pre-filled Mi Pod pods  or vape juice in case you get low and there’s no place to stock up on more.

Vapes We Recommend for Traveling

Mi Pod

The  Mi Pod is the perfect vape to take along on a trip . You can easily fit the small, sleek device into any carry-on bag, or opt to wear it as a necklace so you don’t have to worry about losing it amongst the rest of your things. If you are going to wear it on your neck during a flight, just be sure you’re not tempted to hit it on the plane or you will run into trouble. Aside from being the perfect travel-sized vape, the Mi Pod can be used with pre-filled pods, making it more convenient to quickly reload your vape when you run out of e-liquid on the go.

Slightly different from vape mods, e-cigs are smaller devices designed to look more like a traditional cigarette. These are good for traveling as well because of the small size, but most e-Cigs are disposable, meaning you’ll need to find a store to purchase a replacement and you may not find the exact brand or type you’re looking for while in a new place. If you’re going to bring an e-cig along on your travels, consider packing a few so you don’t have to spend your vacation searching for a new one.

Vapes to Leave at Home

Any vape with a larger battery.

Box mod large vape

The larger the vape battery, the less convenient it is to bring on a trip. Some vapers definitely prefer to use the vape mods with huge batteries because they can last longer and offer adjustable features, but these vapes can cause problems during travel. Size is the obvious disadvantage because large batteries can take up more room than you think and put added weight into your carry-on. But, the biggest risk with a large-battery vape is the greater risk of causing a fire should you accidentally leave it in your checked bag and airport security doesn’t notice. Of course, it’s unlikely that your vape will start a fire, but there is a chance of this happening and that’s not a risk you should be willing to take. Instead, opt for a vape with a smaller battery during your travels and double check that you’ve stowed it in your carry-on bag.

Best Vape-Friendly Destinations

Vaping In England

Vaping is widely accepted throughout England because many people believe that it is a safer alternative to cigarettes, which led the government to provide citizens with easy access to vapes and vape products. If you’re traveling to this part of Europe, you shouldn’t run into many issues with smoking your Mi Pod while touring the cities and purchasing should be a breeze as well. However, you should keep in mind that you are in a totally different area of the world, which means you’ll probably run into a lot of vape products that you aren’t familiar with. On one hand, this could be great because it allows you to test out new vape juice flavors, but if you’re accustomed to specific products, you may not find exactly what you need during your travels. Pack a few back-up pods or vape juice bottles just in case.

Canada is known for its laid-back attitude towards marijuana, and this mindset seems to spill over into vaping as well. Vaping is not restricted or regulated throughout the country, but some private establishments such as restaurants and bars may implement their own restrictions while on the premises. Although it is legal to vape in public, there is no regulation on vaping products, so be mindful of this if you’re planning to buy any supplies during your trip.

Another European destination with pretty lax vaping laws, Germany’s restrictions are very similar to those found in the states. Vaping is allowed in public, but again, some businesses may have their own rules on vaping, and anyone under the age of 18 is not allowed to purchase vapes or vape products.

New Zealand

Aside from being a sick place to visit, New Zealand is very accepting of vapers. Again, the legal age to vape is 18, as with the U.S. and Germany, but as long as you’re not a minor, you’ll find that you can vape pretty much anywhere you go in the country, so  don’t forget to pack your Mi Pod  for your trip down under.

Large vape events

Popular Vape Events

Looking to make vaping a part of your vacation? There are tons of events throughout the country and the world that celebrate vapes,  host vape-related activities  and test out new vape products. Here are some of our favorite vape events that you can check out this year.

The Hall of Vape in Germany

It comes as no surprise that Germany makes the cut for one of the best vape events in the world. The Hall of Vape takes place every year at the end of spring or the beginning of summer in Stuttgart, Germany. This three-day event welcomes hundreds of vape vendors from across the globe to show off their products and display new advances in vape technology. Any avid vaper will be in heaven at this trade show event featuring some of the best vape producers in the world.

Vape Barcelona in Spain

Barcelona is at the top of many people’s bucket list, so why not check it off yours and attend a vape event at the same time? Vape Barcelona takes place in July with 2019 being the inaugural year. In fact, it’s the first vape-related event in the entire country. This large-scale expo plans to welcome more than 15,000 vape companies who are bringing their best products directly to their customers. The best part? Tickets are free, but you have to register and hope there are still tickets available.

National Vape Expo in New York

If you’re looking for a vape event in the states, the National Vape Expo in Uniondale, New York is held at the Nassau Coliseum, less than an hour away from New York City. At this vape event, not only will you meet top vape companies in the industry, but you’ll also have the chance to speak with the three event hosts about their own vaping experiences. Don’t miss a chance to test out new products and head into the city to get a taste of the Big Apple all in the same trip.

Best Practices for Traveling with Your Vape

There’re a few better things in life than taking off on a much-needed vacation. But, what’s a vacation without your Mi Pod? Traveling with vapes can be a tricky area to navigate until you familiarize yourself with all the important info. If you’re planning to fly to your destination, be aware of the TSA regulations, and if you’re going international, check the country’s laws before  whipping out your Mi Pod  in public. Once you’ve covered all the bases, pack up your vape and hit the road.

Travelling with Vapes: What You Need to Know

Travelling with Vapes: What You Need to Know

Are you a vaper planning to embark on an exciting journey abroad? As you pack your bags, don't forget to consider the ins and outs of travelling with your beloved e-cigarette.

From knowing where e-cigarettes are allowed to understanding how to pack them securely, we've got you covered. In this article, we'll explore the essential information that new and advanced vapers need to know before taking off on their next adventure.

Why Take Your Vape Abroad?

For many enthusiastic vapers, the answer is probably, ‘why not?’

People vape for many reasons , primarily as a way of quitting cigarettes for good. You may vape to avoid the nicotine cravings or you might have gradually reduced your nicotine consumption over time and now only use nicotine-free e-liquid in your vape kit. For many people, vaping is a great way to relax and chill out, while for others it's a fun hobby and form of self-expression.

This is all to say that if you enjoy vaping, the likelihood is that you'll want to take your vape kit with you when you travel abroad!

However, unlike in the UK, some countries have strict rules about vaping so it's important to know the laws before you set off to your destination with your vape kit tucked in your luggage.

Understanding the Rules: Where are E-Cigarettes Allowed?

Before you embark on your vaping adventure, it's crucial to be aware of the regulations surrounding e-cigarettes in your destination country. While e-cigarette laws vary from one place to another, many countries have embraced vaping as a popular alternative to traditional smoking. However, it's always wise to check the local laws and regulations of your destination to avoid any unexpected surprises.

There are 35 countries that have some kind of ban or regulations around electronic cigarettes, including Australia, Japan, and Mexico. Therefore, it's important that you carefully research the laws in the country you will be visiting to make sure that you abide by all regulations.

Countries Where E-Cigarettes Are Illegal

There are some countries in the world where electronic cigarettes are completely illegal and anyone who brings their vape kit into the country can face a large fine or even prison time. Some countries where e-cigarettes are completely illegal include:

In fact, being caught using an e-cigarette in Thailand can be punished with up to 10 years in jail. It's simply not worth the risk, so make sure you do your research thoroughly before you set off on your travels.

Countries Where Electronic Cigarettes are Restricted

Fortunately, e-cigarette use is permitted in many countries worldwide, although it's important to check the laws in the country you are travelling to because many have restrictions on vaping.

For example, taking your vape kit to Türkiye is permitted but it's illegal to buy or sell e-cigarettes within the country, so make sure you have all the coils and vape juice you need before you cross the border.

The laws around vaping vary from state to state in Australia, with some states being stricter than others. For example, using e-liquid that contains nicotine without a prescription from a doctor is illegal in some parts of the country.

Vaping Etiquette Abroad

One thing that's important to consider when taking your favourite starter kit or pod kit abroad is the cultural norms and attitudes towards e-cigarettes that may exist in your destination. While vaping has gained popularity in many parts of the world, it's essential to be respectful of the local customs and practices when indulging in your vaping passion abroad.

In some places, vaping may be seen as intrusive or disrespectful in certain public spaces. To avoid causing discomfort or inconvenience, it's important to be mindful of your surroundings and stick to designated smoking areas.

If you're in a social setting, such as someone's home or a private establishment, it's always polite to seek permission before vaping. Just as you would ask if it's acceptable to smoke a traditional cigarette, extending the same courtesy for your vape shows respect for others' preferences and maintains a friendly atmosphere.

Packing Your Vape: Tips and Tricks

When it comes to packing your vape gear, a little bit of organisation goes a long way. Here are some handy tips to ensure that your vape kits and e-liquids remain safe and secure in your baggage during your travels:

Disassemble Your E-Cigarette

Before packing your vape, make sure to disassemble it. This first step applies to vape kits and pod kits, rather than disposable vapes which cannot be taken apart.

Separate the battery, tank, and any other detachable parts. This will help prevent accidental activation and leakage during transit.

We also recommend emptying your vape tank to reduce the risk of spills in your luggage.

Store E-Liquids Appropriately

E-liquid bottles should be tightly sealed and placed in a clear plastic bag to comply with airport security regulations. Remember to double-check the liquid capacity allowed in your carry-on luggage to avoid any issues at security checkpoints.

Protect Your Batteries

Store your batteries in a dedicated battery case or wrap them in non-conductive material to prevent accidental contact with metal objects. This step ensures the safety of your batteries and minimises the risk of fire hazards.

Carry Spare Coils

If you're using a vape kit that requires coils , it's wise to carry a few spare coils with you. Coils have a limited lifespan, and having extras ensures uninterrupted vaping pleasure throughout your journey.

Research Local Vape Shops

It's always a good idea to research local vape shops at your destination. This way, you can rest assured that you'll have access to replacement parts, e-liquids, and expert advice should the need arise.

Taking Vapes on Planes: What You Need to Know

If you're wondering whether you can take your vape gear on a plane, the answer is generally yes, but with a few important considerations:

Carry-On vs. Checked Luggage

Many airlines stipulate that vape kits should be kept in hand luggage instead of checked luggage in the cargo hold. Keeping your vape gear in your carry-on luggage is also beneficial to travellers because you can keep an eye on your valuable equipment throughout the journey.

Follow Airline Regulations

Different airlines may have specific rules regarding the transportation of e-cigarettes. Check the guidelines provided by your airline to ensure compliance. Remember, knowledge is power, and knowing the rules can save you from potential hassles.

Airlines like Wizz Air and Jet2 specify that electronic cigarettes must be kept in your carry-on baggage only. The e-cigarettes or batteries should not be recharged while on the aircraft.

No Vaping on the Plane

While you can bring your vape on the plane, it's important to note that vaping is strictly prohibited during flights. Respect the rules and refrain from vaping until you've safely disembarked.

Vaping In The Airport

While you cannot use your e-cigarette inside the airport, vaping is usually permitted in smoking areas. More than half of UK airports have complete cigarette smoking and vaping bans after travellers pass through security , so get your fix in before you go through security!

Travelling With Disposable E-Cigarettes

We've mostly looked at travelling with vape kits such as your favourite pod kit or starter kit, but what if you're a disposable vape user? First of all, we recommend upgrading to a reusable vape kit for a more cost-effective and high quality vaping experience. Travelling with disposable e-cigarettes can be a headache because they may take up a lot of room in your luggage and disposing of them responsibly can be a challenge when abroad.

However, if you're determined to stick with disposable electronic cigarettes, here's what you need to know about travelling with them.

Some airlines do not allow people to travel with disposable e-cigarettes, but if they are permitted on your airline disposable vapes should be kept in your hand luggage like vape kits. They should be kept in a clear plastic bag and you should be careful not to activate them.

Moreover, some countries have banned disposable vapes entirely so it's important to carry out careful research before you take your vape abroad.

Final Thoughts for Vapers on the Go

Travelling with your e-cigarettes can be an enjoyable and hassle-free experience if you keep a few key points in mind. Remember to research the vaping laws of your destination, pack your vape gear carefully, and follow the airline regulations. By doing so, you can embark on your journey with peace of mind, knowing that you can continue to enjoy your vaping experience wherever you go.

So, whether you're a fan of Vaporesso , VooPoo , Geekvape , or Uwell , pack your bags, charge your batteries, and get ready for an adventure filled with flavour and clouds. Bon voyage, fellow vapers!

Can You Bring Vape Juice on a Plane?

Can you bring vape juice on a plane? Navigating the world of air travel with your favorite vape devices and e-liquids can be daunting. This guide will offer tips to make your journey smoother. Let’s get started!

Air Travel with Vape Devices and E-Liquids

When flying, it’s crucial to know that TSA rules and airline regulations have specific requirements for vape devices and e-cigarettes . Most airlines allow you to bring your vaping device in your carry-on luggage as long as it’s powered off and stored safely. However, checked luggage is a no-go for most vaping gear, as lithium batteries pose a fire risk in the cargo hold.

The Rules of Vape Juice and Carry-on Luggage

As for vape juice , the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has specific guidelines. Your e-liquid bottles must be stored in a clear plastic bag and follow the 3-1-1 rule: containers must be 3.4 ounces (100ml) or smaller, placed in a single 1-quart-sized, clear, zip-top bag, with only one bag per passenger.

TSA’s Twitter Answer

Thanks for asking, Richard! Vape juice is allowed in checked bags & isn't restricted. For more, pls visit: https://t.co/qjSxQcSRil — AskTSA (@AskTSA) February 28, 2018
1: Thanks for asking! Battery-powered e-cigarettes and vapes must be packed in carry-on bags. E-liquids are also allowed in carry-on bags as long as the containers are 3.4 ounces or less and can fit into a single quart-sized bag… — AskTSA (@AskTSA) December 2, 2021

Vape Batteries, Mods, and Cartridges

Vape batteries and vape mods are subject to additional scrutiny. Spare batteries and vape cartridges must be carried in your hand luggage and stored in a protective case to prevent short-circuiting.

Can You Bring Vape Juice on a Plane

CBD Products and THC Vapes

Navigating air travel with CBD products and THC vapes can be trickier. While CBD oil derived from hemp is legal at the federal level in the United States , some states and countries still have restrictions. Be sure to research the local vaping laws and consult with local authorities at your departure airport and destination.

As for THC vapes, remember that marijuana is still illegal under federal law. You could be subject to federal jurisdiction while flying, even if you’re traveling within or between states where marijuana is legal.

Tips for a Smooth Vaping Travel Experience

  • Always check your airline ‘s policies on vaping gear, as different airlines have different rules .
  • Be mindful of vape battery safety and store them in protective cases to avoid accidents.
  • Keep your vaping gear clean, as residue from cannabis or tobacco products can raise red flags with TSA officers and security staff .

Electronic Cigarettes and Airport Security

Airport security is always on high alert for any potential threats. Electronic cigarettes in your carry-on baggage is generally considered a good idea to avoid issues with TSA agents. However, ensure your e-cigarette or vape kit is easily accessible during the security checkpoint process to avoid delays.

British Airways, and Virgin Atlantic

International airlines, like British Airways and Virgin Atlantic , may have specific policies regarding vape devices and e-liquids. Researching your chosen airline’s rules and complying with their additional restrictions is important to avoid complications at the destination country .

E-Liquid and Vape Supplies

When packing your e-liquid , be mindful of the size limit for liquids. Most airlines follow the 100 ml bottles rule; any checked bags containing e-liquid should adhere to this. To protect your vape tanks and supplies , it’s best to wrap them in bubble wrap or use protective cases to prevent damage due to air pressure changes at high altitudes .

Pod Mods, Vape Tanks, and Vaping Products

Pod mods and vape tanks are allowed in your carry-on baggage , but remember to follow the guidelines for electronic devices and lithium-ion batteries . Be sure to clean the outer surfaces of your vaping products to avoid issues with residue, especially from cannabis or illegal drugs .

Vaping Rules and Local Laws

Remember that vaping rules and local laws vary greatly between countries, states, and Canadian cities . Before traveling, familiarize yourself with the legal status of vaping regulations and electronic nicotine delivery systems in your destination.

Can You Bring Vape Juice on a Plane

Dry Herb Vaporizers and Cannabis Residue

Traveling with dry herb vaporizers can be risky due to potential cannabis residue . If you must bring one, ensure it’s thoroughly cleaned to avoid issues with drug-sniffing dogs or unexpected CBD arrests .

Emergency Landings and Vape Battery Safety

Generally, always practice vape battery safety to prevent accidents, which could lead to an emergency landing . Store removable batteries in protective cases and ensure empty vape pens are powered off.

Nicotine Strength and Alternatives

If you’re worried about carrying much vape juice or finding the right nicotine strength , consider alternatives like nicotine gum for a hassle-free travel experience.

By following these guidelines and being aware of the rules and restrictions, you can have a stress-free trip with your vape gear. Remember, the last thing you want is to be caught off guard at the airport. So, do your homework and enjoy your journey!

Q: Can I vape on a plane?

E-liquids count towards your total allowance of liquids in your hand luggage, so they will need to be placed in a transparent, sealable plastic bag no bigger than 20 x 20cm alongside your other liquids.

Each bottle can be no bigger than 100ml, so small 10ml bottles of e-liquid will be fine to take through security, and any larger shortfills would be best packed into your checked luggage. This is a regulation that you will be tied to no matter which British airport you are flying from.

However, it is always worth doing some research on the laws of your destination . The use of e-cigarettes is completely banned in Singapore, for example, while other countries will only allow you to bring a certain capacity of liquid through customs. So, make sure you double check all of this info before jam-packing your case with more e-liquid than is acceptable, or you may risk them being confiscated.

You can read much more about this further down the article, where we detail a full list of countries within which vaping is deemed illegal.

Taking e-cigarettes through airport security

taking eliquids through airport security

E-cigarettes must be carried in your hand luggage. Due to the nature of lithium batteries and the risk of catching fire, they are strictly forbidden to be placed in the hold. In order to prevent delays, always pack them in your hand luggage.

If your vape tanks contain any liquid, they will also need to be placed inside your liquid bag before going through security, so it’s a good idea to disconnect them from the battery before heading through security.

Top tip: Try to limit the amount of juice residing in your vape tank before flying, as cabin pressure can cause havoc with e-cigarettes and result in some very unwanted leakages.

Vaping in an airport

The use of e-cigarettes is banned in all UK airports. Generally speaking, they are treated in the same way as smoking cigarettes.

Using e-cigarettes inside the terminal is forbidden, and should you need your nicotine hit after passing through security you can only do so in the designated outdoor smoking areas if the airport has one.

Despite attempts at Heathrow airport to permit the use of e-cigarettes back in 2013, it should be noted that their premises are now strictly non-smoking and vaping, and you will not be able to smoke anywhere once in the departure lounge.

airports with vaping and smoking areas

UK Airport Vaping Rules and Smoking Areas:

These regulations are correct as of September 2019.

Before travelling, we highly recommend you check the location of your departure airports designated smoking areas. As this list details, not all airports provide designated smoking areas beyond security, and in the event of this you won’t be able to use your vape after check-in.

Vaping on a plane

Using your e-cigarette on a plane is a huge no-go and is once again treated the same as smoking a cigarette on board. This has been banned worldwide since 2000, on all domestic and international flights.

Don’t be fooled into thinking that vapour from your e-cigarette is unlikely to set off smoke detectors on an aircraft, as it has happened and it could happen to you. There have been cases of people illegally vaping on Qatar Airways flights who were caught, arrested and imprisoned.

While these cases are few and far between so you may think that won’t happen to you, the truth is that the risk is still always there and it’s not worth it just for a quick nicotine fix. Don’t be that person, and instead read on for our top tips on how to cope on a flight without your e-cigarettes. It can easily be done, trust us.

The countries where vaping is illegal

Unfortunately, not all countries have embraced the vaping culture quite like we have here in the UK, and there are some areas of the world where the use of e-cigarettes is completely illegal, everywhere.

This is important to note before you travel, as there are some countries which will not allow you to enter the country with e-cigarettes or any other vaping products. This law is taken very seriously, and should you attempt to do so you could potentially face a hefty fine or even imprisonment.

So, where is vaping illegal? Here is a list of countries with vaping bans, correct as of September 2019.

  • Dominican Republic
  • Philippines - a complete illegality which could incur a 4 month prison sentence
  • Singapore - possession of e-cigarettes is a punishable offence which could land you a $1,500 fine
  • Thailand - strict laws mean you could face up to 10 years in prison
  • USA - this is not countrywide, each state has its own laws

In the following countries, vaping is banned unless it is nicotine free:

  • Australia (Queensland and Northern Territories)
  • South Africa

All of these rules and regulations can change at any time, so it’s important to check each country’s laws before travelling.

How to cope on a long haul flight without your e-cigarette

vaping on a plane

Despite the fact you can take your vape pen on board when you travel by air, we have already explained that vaping on an airplane is completely prohibited. You are going to have to find ways of coping without whilst you travel long distances.

When it comes to battling those withdrawal symptoms you may wish to train yourself in advance. You have the opportunity to put yourself through a similar time duration to get your mind used to the withdrawal. That way, when the day of the big journey comes along, you will already have an idea of what to expect.

If, after trying the above, you are confident that you won’t be able to cope without some form of nicotine hit then there are patches that you can take on board. Prior to the rise in popularity of vaping over the past few years, nicotine patches were one of the leading treatments to help quit smoking.

You can also curb your cravings by using nicotine gum or spray. In comparison to patches, these products also give your mouth something to do which is a great replacement for the act of using a vape pen.

Back in 2009, popular airline Ryanair became the first to launch smokeless cigarettes . While they don’t operate long haul flights, these products do allow their passengers to get a quick nicotine hit without the added smoke.

Generally speaking, here are a few tips to help make your long journey as comfortable as possible.

  • Bring some entertainment in the form of a laptop or small games console. You never want to be at the mercy of the in-flight entertainment, so having a laptop with some of your favourite watches downloaded and ready to go is one of the easiest ways of passing the time.
  • Wear comfortable clothes like jogging pants and a loose t-shirt. You’ll need to pick an outfit you’re going to be comfortable sitting in for ten hours, so avoid jeans for sure!
  • Socialise with your fellow passengers and learn more about their holiday plans, you’ll be surprised by how much time you can burn with some good, old fashioned, friendly communication.
  • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and this will stop you from developing a headache whilst on board. Drink slowly and regularly. You may wish to bring along some eye moisturiser, too.
  • Try and sleep, and bring helpful items such as ear plugs and a pillow to help you do this.

We do believe that covers just about everything you’d possibly need to know when it comes to travelling with e liquid, but if we have missed anything then don’t hesitate to get in touch and let us know.

Liquids Rule

You are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes in your carry-on bag and through the checkpoint. These are limited to travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item. Placing these items in the small bag and separating from your carry-on baggage facilitates the screening process. Pack items that are in containers larger than 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters in checked baggage.

Any liquid, aerosol, gel, cream or paste that alarms during screening will require additional screening.

  • Medications
  • Infant and child nourishments

Inbound International Flights

You may carry duty free liquids in secure, tamper–evident bags, more than 3.4 oz or 100 ml in your carry-on bag if:

  • The duty free liquids were purchased internationally and you are traveling to the United States with a connecting flight.
  • The liquids are packed in a transparent, secure, tamper-evident bag by the retailer and do not show signs of tampering when presented to TSA for screening.
  • The original receipt for the liquids is present and the purchase was made within 48 hours.

The items inside the secure, tamper-evident bags must be screened and cleared. Any item that alarms or is unable to be screened will not be permitted in your carry-on bag. We recommend packing all liquids, gels, and aerosols that are over 3.4 oz or 100 ml in your checked baggage, even if they are in a secure, tamper-evident bag.

How to Travel with Vape Juice: Tips and Tricks

Are you wondering how to travel with vape juice? Whether you’re going on a short trip or a long vacation, it’s important to know the rules and regulations regarding e-juice transportation. The good news is that you can bring vape juice on a plane, but there are some guidelines you need to follow.

According to TSA regulations, you can bring vape juice on a plane in your checked bags with no quantity limits. However, it’s recommended to pack them in your checked bags because you will only be able to fit approximately 25 ounces or 7-8 bottles of 3.4oz/100ml liquids, gels, and aerosols in your carry-on. It’s important to note that all liquids, aerosols, gels, creams, and pastes carried onto the plane must be in 100 mL (or smaller) bottles, and must fit into a single 1-quart plastic bag. This includes toothpaste, shampoo, hair gel, lip balm, deodorant, and e-juice.

If you’re bringing more bottled vape juice, it’s recommended to pack them in your checked bags. Additionally, ensure your e-juices are in containers no larger than 3.4 oz or 100 ml. You can bring as many liquids as can fit in a 1-quart or 950 ml bag for carry-on luggage. However, this counts for all liquids, including things like creams and aerosols. By following these guidelines, you can ensure that you travel with your vape juice safely and without any issues.

Understanding Vape Juice

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvfF8rCMoKM&embed=true

Vape juice, also known as e-liquid, is the liquid that is used in electronic cigarettes or vape pens. It is heated by the device’s atomizer to produce vapor that is inhaled by the user. Vape juice comes in a variety of flavors and nicotine strengths to cater to different preferences.

What is Vape Juice?

Vape juice is made up of a few basic ingredients: propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG), flavorings, and nicotine (optional). PG and VG are both food-grade liquids that are commonly used in many household products. PG is thinner and produces less vapor, while VG is thicker and produces more vapor. Flavorings are added to give the vape juice its taste, and nicotine is added to provide a similar sensation to smoking a traditional cigarette.

Different Types of Vape Juice

There are two main types of vape juice: freebase and nicotine salt. Freebase nicotine is the most common type of nicotine found in vape juice. It is the purest form of nicotine and provides a stronger throat hit. Nicotine salt, on the other hand, is a newer type of nicotine that is smoother and less harsh on the throat. It is absorbed by the body more quickly, providing a faster nicotine fix.

When choosing a vape juice, it is important to consider the PG/VG ratio, nicotine strength, and flavor profile. Some vapers prefer a higher PG ratio for a stronger throat hit, while others prefer a higher VG ratio for more vapor production. Nicotine strength can range from 0mg to 50mg, depending on the user’s preference and nicotine tolerance. Lastly, flavor profiles can range from fruity to dessert-like, with many options in between.

Overall, understanding the basics of vape juice can help you make informed decisions when choosing a flavor and nicotine strength that suits your preferences.

Preparation Before Travelling

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leJfr_UyStQ&embed=true

Before you travel with your vape juice, there are a few things you need to do to ensure a smooth journey. Here are some tips to help you prepare for your trip.

Checking Airline Policies

Before you pack your vape juice, it’s important to check your airline’s policies on carrying liquids. Most airlines allow passengers to bring vape juice in their checked bags, but there may be restrictions on the amount you can bring. It’s always a good idea to check the airline’s website or contact them directly to find out what their policies are.

Packing Vape Juice Properly

When packing your vape juice, it’s important to do it properly to avoid any spills or leaks. Here are some tips to help you pack your vape juice:

The special juice captures the essence of the samurai spirit with its rich, smoothly pulsating flavor that brings new satisfaction with every puff. The device's slender, leather-textured design evokes the grip of a samurai's katana, making this product a perfect choice for beginner vapors.

Use leak-proof bottles: Make sure your vape juice is stored in leak-proof bottles to prevent any spills or leaks. You can purchase special bottles designed for travel that are leak-proof and easy to pack.

Pack in your checked bags: It’s recommended that you pack your vape juice in your checked bags, as there are restrictions on the amount of liquids you can carry in your carry-on bags. If you do need to pack your vape juice in your carry-on bags, make sure it’s in a clear plastic bag and doesn’t exceed the maximum size allowed by the airline.

Label your bottles: Label your vape juice bottles with your name and contact information in case they get lost or separated from your luggage.

By following these tips, you can ensure that your vape juice is packed safely and securely for your trip. Remember to always check your airline’s policies before you travel to avoid any issues at the airport.

During the Journey

When traveling with vape juice, it’s important to handle it properly during transit to avoid spills or leaks. Additionally, you should be aware of usage guidelines in different locations to ensure that you are following local laws and regulations.

Handling Vape Juice in Transit

To prevent leaks or spills, it’s recommended that you pack your vape juice in a sealable plastic bag. This will contain any leaks and prevent them from getting on your other belongings. It’s also important to pack your vape juice in your carry-on luggage, as checked luggage is subject to temperature changes that can cause leaks.

If you are traveling with a large amount of vape juice, it’s a good idea to check with the airline beforehand to see if there are any restrictions on the amount you can bring. Some airlines may have specific rules regarding the amount of liquids that can be brought on board.

Usage Guidelines in Different Locations

It’s important to be aware of local laws and regulations regarding vaping when you are traveling. Some countries have strict regulations regarding the use of e-cigarettes and vaping products, and you could face fines or other penalties if you are caught violating these laws.

In some locations, vaping may be prohibited in certain areas, such as public buildings or restaurants. It’s important to be aware of these restrictions and to follow them to avoid any issues.

When traveling to a new location, it’s a good idea to do some research beforehand to learn about local laws and regulations regarding vaping. This can help you avoid any potential issues and ensure that you are following the rules.

Travelling Internationally with Vape Juice

When it comes to travelling internationally with vape juice, it’s important to be aware of the regulations in the country you’re visiting. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

Country-Specific Regulations

Different countries have different regulations when it comes to vaping and bringing vape juice into the country. Some countries have banned vaping altogether, while others have restrictions on the amount of nicotine that can be included in e-juice.

For example, in Australia, it is illegal to sell or import nicotine e-juice without a prescription. In Japan, the sale and import of nicotine e-juice is prohibited. In the United Kingdom, there are no restrictions on the sale or import of e-juice, but there are restrictions on the size of the bottles that can be sold.

Before you travel, make sure to research the regulations in the country you’re visiting to avoid any issues at customs.

Dealing with Customs

When travelling internationally with vape juice, it’s important to declare it at customs. Failure to do so could result in fines or even legal trouble.

Make sure to pack your vape juice in your checked luggage, as most countries have restrictions on the amount of liquid that can be brought in a carry-on bag. Additionally, make sure your vape juice is properly labeled with the ingredients and nicotine content.

If you’re unsure about the regulations in the country you’re visiting, you can always contact the embassy or consulate for more information.

In summary, travelling internationally with vape juice requires some research and preparation. Make sure to be aware of the regulations in the country you’re visiting and properly declare your vape juice at customs to avoid any issues.

What Size Are Vape Juice Bottles? A Quick Guide.

Are you new to vaping? Or are you a seasoned vaper looking to try out new flavors? Either way, you might be wondering what size vape juice bottles are available on the market. Vape juice bottles come in a variety of sizes, and choosing the right size can depend on a few factors. In this article, we’ll take a look at the most common vape juice bottle sizes and what you should consider when choosing the right size for you.

The most common vape juice bottle sizes are 10ml, 30ml, 100ml, and 120ml. Each size has its advantages and disadvantages, and which one you choose will depend on your vaping habits and preferences. For example, if you’re new to vaping and want to try out different flavors, a 10ml bottle might be a good choice. On the other hand, if you have a favorite flavor that you use regularly, a larger bottle might be more convenient and cost-effective in the long run.

When choosing the right size vape juice bottle, you should also consider how often you vape and how much you use each time. If you’re a heavy vaper, a larger bottle might be more practical, as you won’t have to restock as often. However, if you only vape occasionally, a smaller bottle might be a better option, as you won’t have to worry about the juice going stale before you finish it. Keep reading to learn more about the different sizes of vape juice bottles and which one might be right for you.

Understanding Vape Juice Bottles

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vd3AGtpNb74&embed=true

When it comes to buying vape juice, it’s important to understand the different bottle sizes available. Vape juice comes in a variety of bottle sizes, ranging from small 10ml bottles to large 120ml bottles. Here’s a breakdown of the most common vape juice bottle sizes:

The most popular vape juice bottle size is 30ml. This size is perfect for most vapers, as it provides enough juice to last for a couple of weeks. However, if you’re a heavy vaper or you have a favorite flavor that you use all the time, you may want to consider a larger bottle size.

SPIRITBAR Katana BP10000

SPIRITBAR Katana BP10000

  • Slender, leather-textured body reminiscent of a katana handle for an authentic samurai feel
  • Unique samurai-inspired e-liquid flavor - fruity yet not too sweet, with a luxurious, elegant aroma
  • Powerful 650mAh rechargeable battery for extended vaping time
  • Large 18ml e-liquid capacity and 10,000 puff capacity
  • Advanced mesh coil and e-liquid & power display screens for optimal vaping experience

The special juice captures the essence of the samurai spirit with its rich, smoothly pulsating flavor that brings new satisfaction with every puff. The device's slender, leather-textured design evokes the grip of a samurai's katana, making this product a perfect choice for beginner vapors.

One thing to keep in mind when buying vape juice is that the larger the bottle size, the more cost-effective it is. For example, a 120ml bottle of vape juice may cost twice as much as a 30ml bottle, but it will last four times as long.

It’s also important to note that some vape juice manufacturers offer sampler packs, which contain several smaller bottles of different flavors. This is a great way to try out new flavors without committing to a large bottle.

In summary, when it comes to vape juice bottle sizes, it’s all about finding the size that works best for you. Whether you prefer a small 10ml bottle or a large 120ml bottle, there’s a size out there that will fit your needs and budget.

Standard Sizes of Vape Juice Bottles

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUvhPSN20Xk&embed=true

When it comes to choosing the right size for your vape juice bottle, there are a few standard options available in the market. Here are the most common sizes of vape juice bottles:

10 ml: This is the smallest size available for vape juice bottles. It’s a great option if you’re new to vaping and want to try out different flavors without committing to a larger bottle. It’s also a convenient size for carrying around in your pocket or purse.

30 ml: This is the most popular size for vape juice bottles. It’s a good option if you have a favorite flavor and want to stock up on it. It’s also a good size if you’re a moderate vaper and don’t want to run out of juice too quickly.

60 ml: This size is perfect for heavy vapers who go through a lot of juice. It’s also a good option if you have a few favorite flavors and want to stock up on them.

120 ml: This is the largest size available for vape juice bottles. It’s a great option if you have a favorite flavor and want to stock up on it for a long time. It’s also a good size if you’re a heavy vaper and don’t want to run out of juice too quickly.

It’s important to note that the size of your vape juice bottle will also affect the price. Generally, the larger the bottle, the more expensive it will be. However, some brands offer discounts for larger sizes, so it’s worth checking to see if you can save money by buying a larger bottle.

When choosing the right size for your vape juice bottle, consider how often you vape, how much juice you go through, and how much you’re willing to spend. With these factors in mind, you’ll be able to choose the right size for your needs and preferences.

Factors Influencing Vape Juice Bottle Sizes

When it comes to vape juice bottle sizes, there are several factors that influence manufacturers to choose a particular size. In this section, we’ll discuss the main factors that determine the size of vape juice bottles.

Regulatory Restrictions

One of the biggest factors that influence vape juice bottle sizes is regulatory restrictions. Different countries and regions have different laws and regulations regarding the size of vape juice bottles. For example, the European Union’s Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) limits the size of vape juice bottles to 10ml. This regulation was put in place to prevent accidental ingestion of nicotine by children. In contrast, the United States does not have any restrictions on the size of vape juice bottles.

Brand Preferences

Another factor that affects the size of vape juice bottles is brand preferences. Some brands prefer to offer smaller bottle sizes, while others prefer larger ones. This can be due to a variety of reasons, such as cost, convenience, or branding. Smaller bottles may be cheaper to produce and easier to transport, while larger bottles may be more convenient for consumers who use a lot of vape juice.

Consumer Demand

Finally, consumer demand is a significant factor that influences the size of vape juice bottles. Manufacturers will often produce the most popular bottle sizes to meet consumer demand. For example, 30ml and 60ml bottles are popular sizes for vape juice because they offer a good balance between cost and convenience. However, some consumers may prefer smaller or larger bottles depending on their usage habits and preferences.

In conclusion, several factors influence the size of vape juice bottles, including regulatory restrictions, brand preferences, and consumer demand. Manufacturers must consider these factors when choosing the size of their vape juice bottles to meet the needs of their customers while complying with regulations.

Impact of Bottle Size on Vaping Experience

When it comes to vaping, the size of your vape juice bottle can make a big difference in your overall experience. Here are some factors to consider:

Frequency of Refills

One of the biggest impacts of bottle size is how often you need to refill your tank. If you’re someone who vapes frequently, a smaller bottle size may not be the best option for you. A larger bottle size, such as 100ml or 120ml, will last longer and require fewer refills.

On the other hand, if you’re someone who likes to switch up your flavors frequently, a smaller bottle size may be more practical. A 10ml or 30ml bottle will allow you to sample different flavors without committing to a large quantity.

Portability

Another factor to consider is portability. If you’re someone who is always on the go, a smaller bottle size may be more convenient. A 10ml or 30ml bottle can easily fit in your pocket or purse, making it easy to take your vape juice with you wherever you go.

However, if you’re someone who spends most of your time at home, a larger bottle size may be more practical. You won’t have to worry about running out of juice as often and can keep a larger bottle on hand for refills.

Ultimately, the size of your vape juice bottle comes down to personal preference and lifestyle. Consider how often you vape, how frequently you switch up your flavors, and how often you’re on the go to determine which bottle size is right for you.

How to Choose the Right Vape Juice Bottle Size

When it comes to choosing the right vape juice bottle size, there are a few things you should keep in mind. Consider your vaping habits and think about your travel needs. Here are some tips to help you choose the right vape juice bottle size for you.

Consider Your Vaping Habits

One of the most important things to consider when choosing a vape juice bottle size is your vaping habits. Do you vape frequently or just occasionally? If you vape frequently, a larger bottle size may be more suitable for you. This will save you money in the long run and ensure you always have enough vape juice on hand. On the other hand, if you vape occasionally, a smaller bottle size may be more practical for you. This will allow you to try out different flavors without committing to a large amount of vape juice.

Think About Your Travel Needs

If you’re someone who travels frequently, you’ll want to consider a smaller vape juice bottle size. A smaller bottle size is more convenient to carry around and won’t take up too much space in your luggage. A 10ml bottle of vape juice is a great option for those who are always on the go. However, if you’re someone who doesn’t travel often, a larger bottle size may be more practical for you.

In conclusion, choosing the right vape juice bottle size depends on your vaping habits and travel needs. Consider how often you vape and how much vape juice you need on hand. If you’re someone who travels frequently, a smaller bottle size may be more convenient for you. However, if you vape frequently, a larger bottle size may be more practical. Keep these factors in mind when choosing the right vape juice bottle size for you.

Schoolchildren unwittingly using vapes spiked with spice, parents told

Teenagers purchasing electronic cigarettes marketed as containing THC oil, the psychoactive component of cannabis

Schoolchildren are unwittingly using vapes spiked with spice, it has emerged.

Parents have been warned about a growing number of teenagers purchasing electronic cigarettes marketed as containing THC oil, the psychoactive component of cannabis .

In fact many are laced with spice, a dangerous synthetic cannabinoid known as the “zombie drug” , which has been linked to dozens of deaths in British prisons.

Multiple pupils have fallen ill in schools across the country in cases of confirmed or suspected spice vapes.

In the London borough of Lewisham, Forest Hill School told parents that vape liquid containing the class B drug “may also be stored in small plastic bottles that look like eye drops or decongestant sprays, making it harder to detect”.

The warning added: “In a recent case where several pupils were hospitalised the substance ingested was thought to be THC, the active component of cannabis.”

The substance later tested positive for spice and “in this case the students became unwell and several required hospital treatment, with one pupil admitted in a critical condition”.

‘Adulterated vapes’

Police intelligence suggests that blue and green vape juice could be THC, while red and orange is likely to be spice, the school said, with social media sites being used to sell it to teenagers.

In another school in the south-east of the capital, public health chiefs told parents that there had been multiple reports of “adulterated vapes” in Greenwich over the past week and testing of confiscated vapes in the area by the police and Bath University found 22 per cent contained spice.

The notice, seen by The Telegraph, warned that spice “carries a high risk of severe side effects, including panic attacks, numbness and unconsciousness” and “has been linked to a number of deaths, particularly in the adult prison population”.

It said that any young person known to have used it or showing signs should be taken to hospital or supervised until the effects pass, which can last several hours.

Spice has proven to be a deadly problem in prisons. In the five years to 2020, spice and black mamba – both synthetic cannabinoids – were implicated in almost half of the 129 “non-natural” deaths in prisons in England and Wales.

These were also the most commonly implicated substances in drug deaths in prisons between 2017 and 2019, when 37 prisoner death certificates mentioned them, far higher than deaths from heroin and other opiates.

Schools have seen multiple vaping hospitalisations in recent months. Five teenagers required hospital treatment after falling ill in Eltham, south-east London, in February from a vape spiked with spice.

Pupils taken to hospital

Elsewhere, three teenagers were taken to hospital from Paignton Academy in Devon last week after using a vape – although it is not known if spice was involved – and schools in Lancashire have seen similar issues.

In Lincolnshire, eight pupils from one school were hospitalised because of vapes last year, according to Dr Caroline Johnson, Sleaford and North Hykeham MP.

The legal age to use and purchase vapes is 18, but sellers have managed to dodge the law and ensure flavours designed to appeal to young people make their way into schools and colleges.

In February, the Met Police told parents in Sutton, south London, that “in some cases, a single dose can kill” when it comes to spice, along with “breathing difficulties, chest pains, heart palpitations, seizures, extreme anxiety, paranoia, suicidal thoughts, psychosis, vomiting or diarrhoea and acute kidney injury”.

A survey of 4,000 teachers by the NASUWT teachers’ union in October found that 85 per cent believed vaping was a problem on school premises, with some leaving lessons to vape and being hooked on nicotine.
