Isabella Cruise Marries in Secret Wedding, but Where Were Parents Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman?

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman 's daughter Isabella Cruise married her Brit IT consultant boyfriend Max Parker last month—and while she was joined by brother Connor, neither of her parents were there to witness the happy occasion.

"The wedding happened a couple of weeks ago, on Sept. 18," a source told Us Weekly . "And was a super low-key, small ceremony. Connor was there but both Tom and Nicole were not." Their big day reportedly went down at the Dorchester Hotel in Central London.

Australian weekly Woman's Day has pictures form the nuptials, which show the bride wearing a high-neck three-quarter-sleeve lace mini dress , and what appear to be her bridesmaids in oh-so-chic peach jumpsuits.

TMZ is reporting that the groom's parents also didn't make the guest list—instead the couple opted to swap vows in the presence of just a few close friends. They are reporting that Tom footed the bill for their big day, however, and that Max and Bella spent both Thanksgiving and Christmas with her father.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman 's daughter Isabella Cruise secretly married her boyfriend Max Parker last month, Woman's Day reports.

Isabella, 22, and the IT consultant exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony at The Dorchester Hotel in Central London on Sept. 18, less than a year after they began dating. Neither Cruise, Kidman nor Isabella's brother Connor attended the wedding so as not to attract attention, according to People . However, the actor paid for the wedding and reception.

Kidman and Cruise adopted Isabella and Connor during their 11-year marriage, which ended in 2001.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s teen daughters make their red carpet debut with parents

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban made their first public appearance with their teenage daughters.

The family attended the 49th AFI Lifetime Achievement Award Gala at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on April 27, which was held to honor the Kidman as the 2024 recipient of the award.

On the red carpet, Kidman and Urban posed with their two teenage daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.

They were joined by more of Kidman's family including her sister, Antonia Kidman, her husband, Craig Marran, nieces Sybella Hawley and Lucia Hawley, and nephew, Alexander Kidman Marran.

At the ceremony, both Meryl Streep and Keith Urban gave touching tributes to Kidman ahead of her award acceptance.

In his speech, the country music star spoke about raising a family with Kidman and said “one of the most beautiful things” is getting to see his wife be a mom. 

“Her and I both come from tight four member family units as well, so we try to do the same for our girls — keeping a tight little unit wherever we are,” Urban said. “We’ll make homes of film locations all over the world.”

In addition to her two daughters with Urban, Kidman adopted two children with her ex-husband, Tom Cruise : Isabella “Bella” Kidman Cruise and Connor Cruise. The “Top Gun” star also shares daughter Suri Cruise with his ex-wife, Katie Holmes.

Though Kidman and Urban tend to keep their daughters out of the public eye, Sunday and Faith have supported their mom before. In February 2021, Kidman, Urban, and their daughters virtually attended the 78th Annual Golden Globe awards when she was nominated for “The Undoing.”

Over the years, Kidman has said on multiple occasions that she wishes that she’d had more children.

“I love, love children,” she told BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire in January 2017. “I love raising children. They make me feel good, and I love being around, and I love the ups and downs, and I love watching them grow and the things they say and teach.”

Kidman told People in January 2019 that had she met Urban before she did in 2005, they “could’ve had 10 of them!” The actor added, “But Keith says, ‘Stop the wanting mind.’ It’s far better to be completely in love and satiated with what you’ve been given, what we’ve been given.”

Though she told Marie Claire Australia that not having more children was one of her biggest regrets, she’s content taking on a motherly role other ways in her life.

“(It’s) OK because I get to mother other children,” she explained. “I have six nieces and nephew, and I’m godmother to 12. I love mothering, I love kids: they’re quirky, funny and unfiltered. And then you get to see them grow and send them on their way.”

Isabella Kidman Cruise, 31

During her 11-year marriage with Cruise , the couple adopted their daughter, Isabella “Bella” Kidman Cruise , when she was 25.

Kidman doesn’t often discuss her previous relationship with Cruise nor the couple’s children together. She told Australia’s Who magazine in November 2018 that she is “very private” about her eldest children, adding, “I have to protect all those relationships.”

The “Big Little Lies” star added, “I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is.”

Isabella and her brother, Connor, both belong to the Church of Scientology like their father. While Kidman has no affiliation with the organization, she told the magazine that he children “are able to make their own decisions.”

Connor Cruise, 29

Kidman and Cruise also adopted their son Connor Cruise during their marriage.

Much like his older sister, he tends to keep a low profile and stays out of the public eye. He was most recently photographed at Milan Fashion Week in February 2023.

Connor has also been photographed with his dad over the years.

He made a rare appearance with Cruise in London in October 2019. They were photographed walking toward a private helicopter, with People reporting that Cruise showed his son “aviation basics.”

The father-son duo were photographed together again in October 2021 , this time in San Francisco. They attended the San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers playoff game at Oracle Park.

Connor briefly pursued a career as an actor and starred in two movies, 2008’s “Seven Pounds” and 2012’s “Red Dawn.” He has also performed as a DJ in the past, including at his 21st birthday.

Today, Connor isn’t very active on social media, but has posted in the past about his hobby, deep-sea fishing .

Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban, 15

As parents, Kidman and Urban have been protective of their daughters and seldom share their faces on social media. For Sunday’s 11th birthday in July 2019, Kidman shared a photo of her daughters from the back in front of the clock at Musee d’Orsay museum.

Despite not showing their faces publicly, Kidman and Urban have shared plenty of sweet sentiments about their daughters during interviews over the years.

Kidman opened up to Glamour UK in November 2020 about how her daughters were handling periods of isolation during lockdown in the early days of the coronavirus pandemic. 

“For a 12-year-old, it’s about not being able to access friends easily — that’s a whole thing which every parent will be going through,” Kidman explained. “And then, there’s a 9-year-old, who’s socially forming. One of the hardest things is just watching them pine and yearn for their friends. I pine and yearn for my friends too.”

The “Somebody Like You” singer also opened up to TODAY’s Dylan Dreyer in September 2021 about whether his daughters were leaning toward following in the footsteps of their mom or dad more . 

Urban said it was “a bit of both” at the time, adding, “More directing than acting, which would be kind of good.”

Though their kids are still young, both Sunday and Faith made their film debut in 2019 in “The Angry Birds Movie 2.” Sunday voiced the character Lily, a yellow chick, while Faith voiced Beatrice, a purple baby bird.

The actor has given brief glimpses of her daughters over the years in posts on social media.

In May 2019, Kidman shared a photo hugging her daughters , though only the backs of their head were visible. In January 2021, she posted a throwback video with both of her daughters as they enjoyed time near Australia’s Uluru rock formation.

When Urban appeared on TODAY back in August 2015, he shared some of his daughters’ musical abilities when asked if they played any instruments yet.

“Sunday and Faith, they have a few instruments they like to play,” he explained. “A little bit of piano and Faith, she’s got a little pink guitar that she likes to play as well. Bongos, maracas, tambourine, triangle — she’s just getting started.”

Like other celebrity parents, Kidman’s daughters help to keep her humble.

Cruise and Kidman, who tied the knot in December 1990, adopted Isabella “Bella” two years later after the Big Little Lies alum suffered an ectopic pregnancy. The pair expanded their family in 1995 when they adopted Connor.

“From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies,” Kidman told Vanity Fair in 2007. “And we lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic. And that’s when we would adopt Bella.”

The duo, who met in 1989 before working together on Days of Thunder , remained connected to their work and family during the late ‘90s. They were in a state of bliss when they costarred in 1999’s Eyes Wide Shut , according to Kidman.

“We were happily married through that,” the Oscar winner told The New York Times in October 2020, reflecting on teaming up with her then-husband for the Stanley Kubrick project. “We would go go-kart racing after those scenes. We’d rent out a place and go racing at three in the morning. I don’t know what else to say. Maybe I don’t have the ability to look back and dissect it. Or I’m not willing to .”

The Moulin Rouge star recalled: “We were working with the greatest filmmaker and learning about our lives and enjoying our lives on set. We would say, ‘When is it going to end?’ We went over there thinking it was going to be three months. It turned into a year, a year and a half. Their legal separation was finalized in August of that year and while the Cold Mountain actress agreed to joint custody of their children, Isabella and Connor chose to live in Los Angeles with their father. Kidman, for her part, resided in Australia.

Those who have broken free from the cult, including Leah Remini, have spoken about Tom's rage against Nicole and his effort to keep the children from her. No one came through the door who was not a Scientologist.

The hotel room itself reportedly costs up to $10,000 a night.

Tom Cruise's marriage to Nicole Kidman lasted for 11 years, and the couple, who had went through an ectopic pregnancy and a miscarriage during their relationship, adopted two children together.

Their eldest child is daughter Isabella, 31. She married her British partner Max Parker in a Scientology ceremony in 2015.

She lives in South London , works as an artist, and goes by the name Bella. She also appears to have stayed a part of the Church of Scientology along with her dad, and speaking out on speculation about a rift with her mum who is not a Scientologist, she shrugged it off.

She told MailOnline in 2016 : "Of course [we talk], they're my parents. Anyone who says otherwise is full of s***."

Both Isabella and Connor were reported to have stayed with Cruise after their parents' split, living with him and his third wife Holmes as well as half-sibling Suri.

The adopted daughter of Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise has reportedly tied the knot with her boyfriend of less than a year in London .

Isabella Cruise, who works as a hairdresser in the UK, is said to have walked down the aisle last month during a very intimate ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel, according to Woman's Day  magazine.

Only a small group of close friends were present for the affair which saw the 22-year-old and her IT consultant love Max Parker exchange vows in one of the five-star establishment's function rooms.

Isabella is believed to have been introduced to her beau through mutual friends with the pair beginning to date earlier this year.

It is understood that Tom Cruise and Isabella's brother Connor did not attend while Nicole's involvement is unknown.

However, the actress is currently based in London where she is starring in West End play Photograph 51.

Nicole and her former husband adopted Isabella and 20-year-old Connor in 1992 and 1995 respectively prior to their separation and subsequent divorce in 2001.

Both have embraced Tom's belief in Scientology, with the religion cited as a wedge between Nicole and her children in director Alex Gibney's hard-hitting documentary Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief.

The Church of Scientology has since denied the claims, while Nicole previously any refuted speculation of a divide prompted by her children's religious leanings.

Indeed, the 48-year-old star, who has since remarried country singer Keith Urban, with whom she shares daughters Sunday, seven, and five-year-old Faith, insists her children with Tom are still a constant presence in her life.

She told DuJour magazine last month she relies on technology to stay in touch with the pair, saying: 'I have four children, so to stay in touch with them is very important'.

'I'm definitely engaged in [the Internet and technology] but I don't let it rule my life. My husband and I never text each other. We never do. Once in a blue moon, we'll text. But mainly we say, "I want to hear your voice."'

Instead of following her famous parents into acting, Isabella this year graduated from the exclusive Delamar Academy of Make-up and Hair. 

The school is located at Ealing Studios, West London, a famous institution used for filming big budget movies, TV drama Downtown Abbey and music videos for the likes of Coldplay.

Remembering Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman's "unconditional love" for daughter, Isabella, over the past 22 years

Although Isabella Cruise’s wedding celebration didn’t include her famous parents, both Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman continue to support their daughter – as they have throughout her life.

“She is very happy for Bella,” a source close to Kidman tells PEOPLE of her daughter’s surprise marriage to British I.T. consultant Max Parker.

“She, like all mothers, wants her child to be happy, and it surely seems Bella is very happy,” the source adds.

Cruise himself has been supportive of Bella’s marriage, and even paid for the wedding and party.

Bella has been a source of joy for Cruise and Kidman ever since she came into their lives in 1993.

“I got married really fast and really young,” Kidman, who was 22 when she met Cruise, told WHO in 2012. “But I don’t regret that because it got me Bella and Connor and I did have a fantastic marriage for a long period.”

After their initial attempts at having children ended in heartbreak, the couple decided on adoption.

“From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies,” the actress told Vanity Fair in 2007. “And we lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic. And that’s when we would adopt [our daughter] Bella.”

Speaking on their decision to adopt, and their struggles with fertility, Kidman told PEOPLE, “Children are children – you’ll die for your children. And when you feel that as a parent – that’s the unconditional love.”

After the couple divorced in 2001, Isabella grew up with her father in Beverly Hills and was raised in the Church of Scientology, of which she and her brother Connor are still practicing members.

When asked about her thoughts on her children’s religious beliefs, Kidman told The Hollywood Reporter in 2013, “I’ve chosen not to speak publicly about Scientology. I have two children [adopted with Cruise] who are Scientologists – Connor and Isabella – and I utterly respect their beliefs.”

Despite living away from her adopted children, and having two more kids, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, with her current husband Keith Urban , Kidman continued to have a presence in both Bella and Connor’s lives. “I have four children, so to stay in touch with them is very important,” she told DuJour .

Always close with her father, Isabella embraced life with her stepmom, Katie Holmes , when she and Cruise married in 2006. Isabella even worked at Holmes’ clothing line, Holmes and Yang, for a time.

When Cruise and Holmes had their baby girl, Suri, later that year, Cruise made sure his children from both marriages grew up as family.

“I’m so happy with three [kids],” Cruise told PEOPLE in 2012. “I’m enjoying every second with Suri that I have. And I’m enjoying the relationship with my older kids, and the way it is right now.”

In Christmas of 2012, the actor gushed to reporters that he was looking forward to spending his time off with all three of his children. “We have got lots of very special things planned [for the holidays],” he said in London while filming Edge of Tomorrow . “We are all going to be together. I am looking forward to it.” Cruise and Holmes divorced in 2012.

Over the past three years, Isabella has been working toward a career as a professional makeup artist, and recently graduated from West London’s Delmar Academy of Make-up and Hair.

“All of my kids, each one will do what they’re going to do,” Cruise told PEOPLE in 2013, “and I’ll support them in whatever it is they want.”

Kidman echoed a similar sentiment in 2014, telling Australia’s The Weekly magazine, “They are generous, kind and hardworking. And these are traits that I love to see in my children.”

Asked if it was hard not having the Mission Impossible star walk his daughter down the aisle, Bella's husband Max, 29, said: "Yeah. It is what it is."

The guest list was limited to close friends and Max's parents were also absent at low-key big day at the swanky Dorchester Hotel.

His mum Beverly said she wanted to avoid a "media circus".

The pair reportedly live in an apartment in a converted house in London, which they share with three other tenants, and have rejected financial support from Bella's superstar mum and dad.

Bella reportedly drives a modest Fiat 500 while Max works long hours with his job in IT support.

Asked about having children, Bella said: "I'm 23, so we'll see. I'm still a baby myself."

Sources previously told People magazine Tom, 53, was "totally fine" about missing his daughter's big day.

A source said: "Tom approves of Max and is totally, totally fine with it."

"None of the parents were invited, and Tom was totally cool with it. Tom did pay for the ceremony."

They added Nicole, 58, was thrilled for her daughter , saying: "Nicole is very happy for Bella. She, like all mothers, wants her child to be happy, and it surely seems Bella is very happy."

Tom and Nicole's daughter reportedly met her husband through work after recently graduating from Delamar Academy of Make-up and Hair in West London.

Tom Cruise was all smiles at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour show in London Saturday night the day after daughter Suri’s high school graduation in NYC just hours prior.

The “Top Gun” star looked gleeful at Wembley Stadium as he traded friendship bracelets with fans ahead of the singer’s second of three sold-out performances in England’s capital city.

The 61-year-old actor — who rocked dark wash jeans, a white T-shirt and a black jacket — sat among A-list attendees including Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Hugh Grant and “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig.

Cruise appeared to be having the time of his life as he — much like Prince William the night prior — danced along to the Grammy winner’s hit song “Shake it Off” with his famous peers in the VIP tent.

Swift’s beau, Travis Kelce, was also among stars as he attended his second London concert in a row with his brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Kylie .

Meanwhile in the US, Cruise’s estranged 18-year-old daughter graduated from LaGuardia High School the day prior.

A beaming Suri was photographed greeting friends outside the venue shortly after they received their diplomas.

She also eagerly took pictures with mom Katie Holmes, who proudly stood by her daughter’s side on the special day.

The teenager dressed for the heat in a white sundress and heels adorned with a flower.

She completed her summery ensemble with a red graduation robe and white sash.

The 45-year-old “Dawson’s Creek” alum, for her part, looked cheerful in beige pleated trousers and a matching collared shirt.

Cruise’s choice to opt out of the graduation does not come as a surprise, as he has been estranged from the teen for years .

Suri even dropped the “Risky Business” actor’s last name in her school’s official graduation pamphlet, opting instead to go by her first and middle names, “Suri Noelle.”

Cruise confirmed in a 2012 deposition that Holmes divorced him “in part to protect Suri from Scientology.”

Followers of the controversial religion are not allowed to associate with nonbelievers.

Suri — who revealed she will attend Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh in the fall — did not let her father’s absence ruin her final days of high school.

Earlier this week, she was seen having a blast with her friends as they took pictures before they went off to prom.

Suri looked like a spitting image of her mother in a ’90s-inspired floral gown that featured a corseted bodice.

Holmes and Cruise split in 2011 nearly six years after tying the knot.

The “Mission Impossible” actor shares daughter Isabella, 31, and son Connor, 29, with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, whom he separated from in 2001 following an 11-year marriage.

Cruise still spends time with his eldest children as they have followed in his Scientology-practicing footsteps.
