Tom Cruise  filmed "Misson: Impossible 7" and "Mission: Impossible 8" back to back, which kept him pretty busy. Still, the actor had time to take a break and take his rumored girlfriend Hayley Atwell to Wimbledon over the weekend of July 9, per Page Six . Atwell was Cruise's co-star in "Mission: Impossible 7," and the two reportedly grew close during the production of the film.

Does Tom Cruise ever see Suri Cruise?

In late October 2012, Life & Style reported that Tom Cruise had "abandoned" his daughter Suri. Cruise filed a $50 million lawsuit against the magazine's parent company, Bauer Media Group, per The Hollywood Reporter . At the time of the filing, his attorney said, "Tom is a caring father who dearly loves Suri. She's a vital part of his life and always will be." Cruise and Bauer settled the lawsuit for undisclosed terms in February 2013, according to  The Hollywood Reporter .

During the lawsuit, Tom Cruise admitted in court, per  People , that he hadn't seen his youngest daughter Suri Cruise in 100 days because of work commitments (though he noted they frequently spoke on the phone). In 2016, that number had grown to 1,000 days, per InTouch . At the time, a source said , "He's disconnected from [ex-wife] Katie [Holmes], and then de facto from Suri, because of her connection to Katie. He hasn't seen her since she was 7."

Today, Suri lives in Manhattan with her mother. Per The Sun , Suri's older half-siblings Isabella and Connor are Scientologists, but she is reportedly not. In 2019, Us Weekly reported that it had been several years since Cruise had seen Suri. Even more shocking is the idea that the Church of Scientology allegedly doesn't allow relationships with parents and their children who aren't Scientologists, as one former member claimed to Us Weekly (the church disputes this, however).

Did Tom Cruise give Suri a gift for her 13th birthday party?

Tom Cruise hadn't reportedly wanted to reach out to Suri Cruise for her 13th birthday, according to Hollywood Life  in 2019. "Tom does plan to send Suri a gift and call her on her birthday," revealed an anonymous source. The source also implied that Tom has struggled with his estrangement from Suri. "As challenging as things have become for him and his daughter, he still loves her," added the source. "[He] thinks about her all the time and will recognize that she is becoming a teenager and a young woman on her big day." Furthermore, the source claimed that Tom wanted to reconcile with Suri in the future. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem as if this reconciliation has happened over the past few years.

Fortunately, Suri has a village with her mother, Katie Holmes, who has a great support system of her own. Holmes previously revealed to People that she not only has her mother, but her friends to help her raise Suri. "I lean on them," shared Holmes. "For advice, for recipes, for all of that stuff: 'What am I supposed to do? Can you come over and watch? Can you be a helping hand?'" added Holmes. "And I do have help, yes, but ... it's your baby, you know? You want to be the one who is there."

Tom Cruise will probably pay for Suri's tuition

Even though Tom Cruise and Suri Cruise don't appear to have much of a relationship, he's still going to fund her college education, according to the Daily Mail . In March 2023, the outlet reported that 16-year-old Suri — who reportedly has her heart set on studying fashion — has been scouting around with her mom to find the perfect school. Tom will pick up the tab. The outlet cited Tom and Katie Holmes' hefty divorce settlement, which included language about Suri's college expenses. "Tom has always maintained his responsibilities when it comes to financial obligations to Katie and Suri," shared a source.

Unfortunately, Brooke Shields revealed another indicator that Tom and Suri may not be on the best terms. In March, Shields spoke with People and lamented about no longer receiving one of Tom's famous Christmas cakes that he gifts to his inner circle. However, she also accidentally revealed that Tom, Suri, and Katie Holmes used to give the cakes as a family. But he eventually removed them from the process. "It was from them and Suri, so it was the three of them, and then soon it was no Suri and no Katie and just Tom," Shields shared. "Then it went from just Tom for a while, but not every holiday. And then the cake stopped."

As Suri Cruise reached her 18th birthday, rumours have swirled that she is no longer in contact with her famous dad Tom Cruise .

Suri celebrated her big day with her mum, Katie Holmes , spending the afternoon shopping in the New York sunshine.

Tom, 61, was nowhere to be seen and is currently filming for a new project in London with no word on whether he sent any birthday wishes.

Their relationship is said to be so strained that Suri has decided to ditch her last name, going instead by Suri Noelle — her mother’s middle name.

In 2016, a US outlet reported the teenager  has a huge rift with her father and the pair have not been in contact for years.

Tom, who has two more children, hasn’t been pictured with Suri for years but is believed to have been paying child support as per his and Katie’s divorce settlement.

Was Tom Cruise involved in Suri’s childhood?

In April 2006, Katie and Tom revealed to the world they had welcomed a baby girl and five months later they graced the cover of Vanity Fair with Suri in their arms.

They married in a Scientologist church months later and lots of pictures of Tom out and about carrying his newborn cropped up.

‘My whole life I always wanted to be a father,’ he gushed to the publication at the time, having adopted Connor and Isabella with Nicole Kidman previously.

‘I always said to myself that my children would be able to depend on me and I would always be there for them and love them — that I’d never make a promise to my kids that I couldn’t keep.’

Things seemed to be going swimmingly until six years later when the Dawson’s Creek star filed for divorce while Tom was away filming Oblivion.

When was Tom Cruise last seen with Suri?

Around the time of the divorce was the last time Tom was publicly pictured with Suri, taking her to Disney World in 2012.

At the time, a spokesperson for the Top Gun star said: ‘Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children.’

The high profile split was said to be in part due to Katie’s fears around Scientology, after members of the group moved into their home.

Speaking to  the Daily Mail before his death, founder Ron Miscavige said the decision ‘didn’t sit so well with Katie, of course, and it hurt the marriage.’

When the divorce was settled, the Batman Begins star was granted sole custody plus $400,000 (£315,456) per year in child support until Suri turned 18.

It’s reported that Tom has not seen Suri in the 10 years since, with the pair being no contact for the last three years.

A source told Heat magazine: ‘Tom is feeling guilty about missing so much of her life, but insists that he hasn’t completely shut Suri out of his life, and does get updates from time to time.’

Has Katie Holmes said anything about Suri and Tom’s relationship?

Katie has not commented on Tom’s relationship with their daughter but has been incredibly open about how protective she feels over Suri’s privacy.

‘What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her,’ she told Glamour last year.

‘I’m very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She’s an incredible person.’

‘I love her so much,’ the mom-of-one told InStyle in 2020. ‘My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality, to make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident and able.

‘And to know it. She came out very strong — she’s always been a strong personality.’

Before news broke in the past week that two of Brad Pitt’s daughters have stopped using his surname, a report said that Tom Cruise’s daughter, Suri, didn’t want to use her mega-star dad’s last name when performing recently in a stage musical.

After Suri celebrated her milestone 18th birthday in April, she is about to graduate from La Guardia High School in New York City, and hinted in a classmates TikTok video that she’s headed to Carnegie Mellon University in the fall. She also made the subtle yet noticeable choice to only be identified as Suri Noelle for a performance of the stage musical “Head Over Heels,” according to a report from Hello magazine.

It’s not clear if the show was presented at Suri’s public high school, which specializes in teaching performing and visual arts, or at a theater in New York City. Suri lives in Manhattan with her mother, Katie Holmes, Cruise’s ex-wife. Hello magazine said Suri starred as Philoclea in the juke-box musical, which features music from the Go-Go’s.

For the show’s program, Suri used Holmes’ middle name, Noelle, as her last name in the show’s credits, Hello reported.

It’s long been reported that Suri has been estranged from her mega-star father, since around the time her mother surprised Cruise in 2012 by reportedly “blindsiding” him and asking for a divorce. Following Cruise and Holmes’ high-profile breakup, there were reports that the “Dawson’s Creek” star left the marriage so that she could protect her daughter from being raised in the cult-like Church of Scientology, of which the “Top Gun” star is a prominent member.

Since then, Suri has grown up under the care of her mother in New York, with the two sharing a close mother-daughter bond, Newsweek reported . There have been questions about whether Suri’s reported estrangement from the Jerry Maguire actor is due to Scientology.

According to its website , church recommends that members stay away from people labeled “suppressive persons,” or SPs, because they are considered “anti-social” personalities who seek to upset and undermines a members’ adherence to Scientology.

It’s been reported that Holmes secured sole custody of Suri in the divorce, while Cruise retained “meaningful” visitation rights. Yet, public sightings of Cruise with his daughter dwindled soon after the divorce, with Page Six saying they were last seen together at Disney World in the summer of 2012.

As Suri has come of age, she has shown an interest in the performing arts, attending La Guardia High School, which is officially known as the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. Her actor-director mother also told Glamour last year that she had asked her daughter to sing the opening credits of her 2022 film, “Alone Together.” Suri’s next destination is Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which is known for having one of the top-ranked undergraduate drama programs in the county.

The Hello report didn’t say whether Suri was using the name “Suri Noelle” just for the musical, or if it signals a more permanent shift in how she identifies herself and in how she may want to relate to her father.

Of course, Cruise wouldn’t be the only top male star right now who’s had a once beloved child reject her association with him, if that’s what Suri intends to do.  The same thing happened to Cruise’s one-time co-star Pitt, who may be estranged from all six of his children with Angelina Jolie.

Pitt, who co-starred with Cruise in the 1994 gothic thriller, “Interview with the Vampire,” has been reminded of this “loss” in recent weeks, a source told People, after he and the rest of the world learned that his 18-year-old daughter Shiloh had dropped “Pitt” from her last name.

There have been news reports over the past several years that indicated that Pitt had probably become estranged from his older adopted children — Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Zahara, 19 — amid his contentious and protracted divorce from Jolie. But it’s become apparent in the past week that Pitt may no longer have relationships with his three biological children, Shiloh and 15-year-old twins, Vivienne and Knox.

Last week, Shiloh celebrated her 18th birthday by hiring a lawyer to help her petition the court to legally drop “Pitt” from her surname and to henceforth be known as “Shiloh Jolie,” not “Shiloh Jolie-Pitt,” People and other news outlets reported. People also reported last week that Vivienne had dropped “Pitt” in her Playbill credit for the new musical “The Outsiders,” which her mother produced.

The news about Shiloh hiring an attorney to officially distance herself from Pitt has proved to be especially painful for the “Fight Club” star, according to the People source.

“The reminders that he’s lost his children, is of course not easy for Brad,” a source told People Monday. “He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad.”

People magazine reported that Shiloh’s decision to drop Pitt’s last name was in part motivated by Jolie’s allegations related to her father’s “abuse history.”

The storied Hollywood super couple union between Pitt and Jolie came crashing down in September 2016 when Jolie filed for divorce and reports began circulating that the split was prompted by an altercation involving the couple on a private plane ride from the South of France to Los Angeles.

Several of the actors’ children also reportedly were involved in the incident, according to a subsequent FBI report. Since then, Jolie has accused the “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” actor of being physically abusive on the plane ride and during their two-year marriage and 12-year relationship. Pitt has long denied the abuse allegations and his representatives have pointed out that he was never charged with a crime. Sources close to Pitt also have accused Jolie of working to turn their children against them.

Meanwhile, before Shiloh and Vivienne dropped “Pitt” from their full names, legally or otherwise, their older sister Zahara made a similar move. Zahara was seen in a video shared by Essence magazine, calling herself Zahara Marley Jolie at a 2023 event at Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College.

The Tom Cruise paternity case has been making the rounds and the rumour mills are still churning. Perhaps the once most celebrated couple in Hollywood, are now seeing an ugly battle on whose news bytes are selling tabloid papers more than ever. Getting the low down on the facts surrounding the real paternity of Suri , daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, can only be gleaned with a better understanding on how this controversy actually began.

How it began:  ‘The National Enquirer’

The rumour mill began this tirade of doubt and suspicion sometime in the month of July 2012 with rather tepid attention paid to it by both actors. It was however, the report in the more venerated of newspapers ‘The National Enquirer’ which carried a rather disturbing report of Cruise having abused wife Katie and the child by keeping them confined to a small windowless home for long durations of time. However, dramatic the imagery may be, the very fact that Tom Cruise has decided to sue the paper for damaging him professionally and causing him losses running into millions, as well as causing acute distress to his family, in itself proves the seriousness of the libel and the attention the story has begun inviting.

It was the paternity debate that confounded other members of the media and turned the usually reticent Cruise into his ballistic best. The question raised was whether Cruise really was Suri’s biological father adding further that Chris Klein, Josh Hartnett or even Joshua Jackson, the three men Katie Holmes was known to be very close to, may be the others in contention for the honour of having fathered Suri. What made everyone sit up and take notice of this news story was the cleverly posed fact that even in the case of Cruise’s ex-wife Nicole Kidman the couple did not have a single biological progeny; in fact both his kids with Kidman were adopted. The hushed whispers of Cruise being sterile and unable to father children gained more attention with the Cruise-Holmes split becoming murkier.

What stand did Cruise take?

The libel being fought by Cruise aims at the ‘preposterous’ suggestions made by the paper that today seem believable to many. The fact that the Tom Cruise paternity case raises some reasonable doubt is the fact that Katie Holmes while pregnant with Suri was such an undercover event, exactly a year after her break-up with boyfriend Chris Klein. What has got the world talking is the exact date of conception and the real birth date of Suri which even today is believed to have been a fudged date. It is also believed that Katie was pregnant with Chris Klein’s child when she married Cruise.

Tom Cruise’s reaction to the Enquirer’s allegations has been reported to have sent him running to his lawyers. The public reaction to the report also backs Cruise’s decision in suing the paper for wrongfully and willfully maligning the name of a ‘decent man’ who is a ‘caring father’ and a ‘hardworking actor’.

When the divorce case went through most knew that it would be Katie who would win custody of Suri, considering all the muck that flew around the Scientology leaning of Cruise and the fact that for the last six years Cruise was constantly busy building on his career. It was Katie who had taken care of the child, loved and nurtured her. A pre-nup was already in place to take care of the financial implications regarding a divorce. However, what has once again raised the paternity debate to new high, is the manner in which the very question of paternity may in itself be the reason why the divorce was such a swift and quiet affair, with almost no ambiguity about custody of Suri. Perhaps the trump card was indeed held by Katie all along!

While Cruise was photographed frequently with Suri in her early years, sources have claimed he is now estranged from his 17-year-old daughter. As for his older children, mystery has long surrounded their relationships.

Now, after news he has found “love” with Russian socialite Elsina Khayrova, the Herald looks at his family dynamics.

Here is everything we know about Tom’s relationships with his children:

Isabella Cruise

Born on December 22, 1992, Isabella – who calls herself Bella Kidman Cruise – was the first child Kidman and Cruise adopted in their decade-long marriage in the 1990s. Her relationship with her father appears to remain intact.

After agreeing to a joint custody agreement with Kidman in 2001 – financial terms and other settlement terms were kept confidential – Isabella and Connor stayed with their father in LA when Kidman returned to Australia and the children quickly became “completely dedicated Scientologists”, according to People magazine.

Now 30, Isabella rarely posts on social media but Page Six reported in 2019 that she wrote in a Scientology newsletter thanking her father “for everything”.

Kidman has not explicitly shared her opinion about her daughter’s relationship with the church but did briefly mention it in a 2018 interview with Who magazine.

“They are adults,” she said of Isabella and Connor at the time. “They are able to make their own decisions.

“They have made choices to be Scientologists and, as a mother, it’s my job to love them. I know 150 per cent that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is.”

Hollywood Life has reported that Bella is now based in London and owns an art company selling phone cases, tote bags and other accessories.

In 2015 she married Max Parker, an IT consultant, in an intimate ceremony that neither Cruise nor Kidman attended, causing widespread speculation that Bella was estranged from them. But the Mirror reported that Cruise knew about the wedding and footed the bill.

Bella later spoke to the Daily Mail , claiming: “Of course [we talk], they’re my parents. Anyone who says otherwise is full of sh**.”

While it’s not known exactly how much contact she has with her father, reports suggest they have a good relationship.

She has previously shown support for him on social media by posting the trailer for Top Gun: Maverick and liking a post by Lady Gaga that featured him.

Connor Cruise

Born on January 17, 1995, and adopted the same year, Connor Cruise – much like his sister – appears to enjoy a life away from the spotlight.

Despite seemingly following in his parents’ footsteps earlier in his life when he starred in two films – Seven Pounds in 2008 and the Red Dawn remake in 2012 – Connor later pursued DJing successfully but has since taken a new direction.

Hollywood Life has reported that the 28-year-old spends a lot of time fishing and lives in Clearwater, Florida, which is the main Scientology hub in the US. The Mirror has reported that Connor has become a high-ranking member of the church .

He remains close to his sister and father, though reports suggest he does not have a good relationship with Kidman and did not invite her to his wedding in 2019.

He married Italian-born Silvia Zanchi, a fellow Scientologist who also grew up in the religion, and allegedly “banned” Kidman from the wedding at the request of his father.

Speaking to Radar Online in 2019, a source said, “Tom is behind this and what he wants is as good as law. Tom made the call and Connor followed.”

Adding that Connor “worships the ground his father walks on”, the sources added: “First, Tom would never even consider inviting Nicole to Connor’s wedding because she’s considered a ‘suppressive person’ by the church. And, second, he doesn’t want her there.”

People magazine reported in 2019 that Connor and his father regularly spend time together but public outings are rare. They were spotted the same year flying over London in a helicopter and Cruise showed his son “some aviation basics”.

The trip was a way to promote the Mission Impossible film at the time. However, People reported there was also an annual Scientology gathering that Connor was believed to have attended with his father.

Since then, the two have also been spotted on rare outings together, including at a 2021 basketball game and, most recently, in New York City in July at an event to promote Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning .

Suri Cruise

Earlier this year an insider revealed to Page Six that Cruise was estranged Suri, his daughter with former wife Katie Holmes. However, he still pays child support of US$400,000 (NZ$640,500), which will continue until she is 18.

He is also required to pay for Suri’s expenses, including medical, dental, insurance, education and other extra-curricular costs.

The news doesn’t come as a complete surprise as Cruise revealed in his 2012 defamation case against Bauer Media that his links to Scientology had played a large part in his estrangement from Suri.

When asked if Holmes had left him “in part to protect Suri from Scientology”, he replied, “That was one of the assertions, yes.”

“Listen, when there is a divorce, things change,” he told lawyers in 2013. “It’s not an ideal scene. It’s not an ideal situation.”

After the US$50 million ($80m) lawsuit deposition in 2016, the controversial church was criticised for keeping Cruise and his daughter apart. According to the rules of Scientology, church members are not allowed to associate with non-believers.

Since neither Holmes nor Suri are Scientologists, it has been claimed that Cruise cannot have a relationship with either of them.

“This is his loss, his issue, his problem,” an insider told Page Six at the time. “He must be really brainwashed.”

The Top Gun star, who has been married three times , shares two adopted kids — Connor Cruise  and Isabella ‘Bella’ Cruise  — with his ex-wife, Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman . He also has one biological child, a daughter named Suri  with his other ex-wife, Katie Holmes .

Tom lives an extremely private life, despite being a major movie star. While he may hit the occasional red carpet if he has a movie premiering, the actor is rarely photographed anywhere else, or with his kids. Though, he does have a relationship with all three. Tom was most recently seen in a photo in December 2023 with his and Nicole’s children, Connor and Bella, after athlete Derrick Brooks shared a group shot to Instagram .

Isabella Cruise

Tom and Nicole adopted Connor and Isabella during their decade-long marriage in the ’90s. Isabella, who was born on December 22, 1992, took a page out of her father’s book by adopting a lifestyle away from the spotlight, however, she recently resurfaced on her Instagram  with a selfie on August 25, and fans went wild. The new photo came four months after she last shared a photo of her face online, so her followers were elated to see her sharing a new picture of herself.

The London-based artist owns a company with the title of her namesake, “Bella Kidman Cruise,” which sells phone cases, tote bags, and more. As far as her personal life is concerned, Bella married Max Parker , an IT consultant, in an intimate ceremony in London in September of 2015. Neither Bella’s nor Max’s parents attended, which led to speculation that she was estranged from her parents. Though, that was later proven not to be the case .

“Of course [we talk], they’re my parents. Anyone who says otherwise is full of sh-t,” Isabella told Daily Mail in March of 2016. When asked if it was hard not to have Tom walk Isabella down the aisle to give her away, Max admitted, “Yeah. It is what it is.” Isabella also has a good relationship with her mother, whose last name is included in her company’s name. And, she’s close with her brother, Connor, which is evidenced by various social media posts.

Isabella caused a slight stir in July 2021 when she and brother Connor both posted a selfie – a rare thing from these private kids – on the same day. Bella’s selfie was taken during the Euro Championship when England took on Denmark. “My face during extra time. Fingers crossed,” she captioned the shot. It clearly worked, as England prevailed. Earlier in the year, Bella posted another selfie – a black and white photo advertising prints in her shop. When Isabella shared a snap in September 2021 , fans thought she looked amazing.

Connor Cruise

Just like his sister, Connor, who was born on January 17, 1995, also enjoys living a private life. Though, he was very much in the spotlight in the past. Connor briefly followed in his parents’ footsteps and starred in two films — 2008’s Seven Pounds and 2012’s Red Dawn remake. The well-accomplished DJ eventually pursued his passion for deep-sea fishing, though, and now spends a lot of time in Clearwater, Florida, as seen on his Instagram page. Connor is very close with his sister, which was further proven by a cute throwback photo he shared to his Instagram in August 2019.

Connor appears to be quite close with his dad, too, as the two were most recently spotted together in October 2019. The father and son bonded over the actor’s love for helicopters, according to People — which reported that Tom took Connor on a chopper in London to show him “some aviation basics.” In 2012, Connor tweeted a black and white baby photo of himself, along with Isabella, in the arms of Tom.

While on a fishing trip in Costa Rica in February 2021, Connor showed off a catch that was almost bigger than him. “ Yellowfin were chewing today ,” he captioned the shot. He became an “ influencer ” in March of that year, launching the @connorsmeatshack IG account with his friend, Kim Joyce . The BBQ-themed account featured Connor’s love of grilling, and the man knows his way around a “rolled cap of ribeye and some lobstah tails,” as he put it . When the summer months rolled around, Connor decided to shave off his hair. “ New face, who dis? ” he captioned a June 8 IG story.

While on an August 2022 fishing trip with friends, Connor showed off his catch – a massive fish he hauled in from the ocean. In his most recent post, Connor revealed that he and his fishing buddies donated a large portion of their catch — “108 pounds of grouper” to be exact — to a charity. “I know it was tough to fit that in the truck but glad the fish was able to go and help those in need of it!!,” he wrote. Overall, Connor is enjoying a life of fishing, grilling, and living in the great outdoors.

Suri Cruise

Following his 2001 divorce from Nicole, Tom went on to marry Katie Holmes in 2006. They welcomed their only biological child, a daughter named Suri, that same year on April 18. Suri made her magazine debut on the October 2006 cover of Vanity Fair with her then-married parents. The accompanying photoshoot showed the family smiling while cuddled up together. Unfortunately, the trio didn’t have a happily ever after. Tom and Katie eventually divorced in 2012, and the actor has rarely been seen out with his daughter since the split. Believe it or not, one of their last photographs together was at Disneyland on January 25, 2012.

Tom’s relationship with Suri is a tumultuous one , multiple sources have expressed to  Hollywood Life . “As challenging as things have become for him and his daughter, he still loves her,” an insider told us in April 2019. “Tom never intended to be estranged from his daughter when he decided to have a family with Katie, and he looks forward to repairing their relationship one day,” the source said. Tom and Katie have never spoken publicly about his estranged relationship with Suri. And it’s unclear when the actor and his now teenage daughter last saw one another. Suri resides with her mother in New York City, where she attends school.

While Tom and Suri’s relationship has remained strained, she has continued to have a positive connection with her mother. Suri and Katie are often seen together on the streets of New York City. Suri turned 18 in 2024.

US report: ‘Tom Cruise is not Suri’s real dad’

A US publication has today sensationally claimed that Katie Holmes has revealed to her 13-year-old daughter Suri Cruise that superstar Tom Cruise is not her ‘real father’. The report comes after claims Tom’s ex-wife Nicole was recently banned from a family ceremony –  WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW .

The legendary actor and his ex-wife have yet to publicly respond to the outrageous report.

‘She sat Suri down and tearfully confirmed what everyone has known – but not acknowledged – for a long time now, that Tom Cruise will never be a real father to her,’ a source told Star .

‘She couldn’t avoid it any longer. Not with a curious daughter in the house,’ they added.

The source also claimed that Tom has not seen Suri since 2013 and there have been no calls and texts and Tom has not attempted to reach out to his daughter.

‘All signs are pointing to the harsh conclusion that Tom will never fulfil his role as Suri’s dad, which has to be devastating for her. Every little girl needs her father – no matter how old she is,’ adds the insider.

And according to the source, Suri has not responded positively to her mother’s ‘emotional admission’ and Suri has ‘been prickly’ and has ‘been acting out, being defiant and talking back’.

But with her mother’s partner Jamie Foxx willing to take on the fatherly role, thankfully Suri has someone to ‘fulfil the emptiness in her life’.

‘It kind of doesn’t matter if Tom’s her real dad or not, because Jamie is more of a father figure anyway,’ adds the source.

The Wild Rumor That Swirled About Suri Cruise Thanks To A Biography About Dad Tom

Suri Cruise is the only daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise (the "Top Gun" actor also has two kids with ex-wife, Nicole Kidman). Born in 2006, Suri instantly became one of the most talked about celebrity babies of all time, paving the way for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, who was born a few weeks later. Given the interest in Suri, it's no surprise that she's been a hot topic for tabloid fodder and, of course, the rumor mill churned out plenty of material about her — and her parents. One of those rumors went viral after biographer Andrew Morton made a bold claim about the youngster in his book, "Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography." 

On the inside pages of his book, which was released on January 15, 2008, Morton wrote that Tom wasn't actually Suri's real father and that Katie was artificially inseminated, according to the New York Post . Morton claimed that Suri's real father is Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, who died after suffering a stroke in 1986, per The New York Times . Understandably so, the biography had people talking, and Tom's lawyer felt the need to set the record straight. And he didn't hold back when addressing the bizarre rumor.

Tom Cruise's camp called the rumor a 'grotesque lie'

A lawyer for Tom Cruise was quick to call out the claim made by Andrew Morton. "It's a grotesque lie. I know she's Tom's child. ... DNA could prove whose child it is. It could come to that," attorney Bert Fields said (via ABC News ). Meanwhile, Church of Scientology chief counsel Elliot Abelson also spoke out, telling the New York Post that Morton's claim was "just the lowest of the low." But when Morton was questioned about his bold suggestion, he explained that he was simply pointing out what was in the realm of possibilities. "What I write is that the idea is absurd. But it's entirely plausible within the sect. ... It's in keeping with the hysteria within Scientology that greeted the pregnancy," he said, according to ABC News.

Suri Cruise's parents split in 2012, five years after they tied the knot. "This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family. Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest," an attorney for Holmes told People magazine at the time. Although neither Tom nor Katie have spoken about their divorce at length, years later, Tom admitted that Scientology played a role, according to ABC News . In the years that followed, Tom's relationship with his youngest daughter dwindled, and it's believed that he is still estranged from Suri.

Tom Cruise reportedly hasn't seen Suri Cruise in 10 years

As the years have passed by, it has become more and more obvious that Tom Cruise doesn't play a role in Suri's life at all. Primarily raised by her mother, Suri had little-to-no relationship with her father after her parents' divorce. "Every person is allowed to see their child if they wanted to. He chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist," a source told Us Weekly in October 2018. 

Flash forward to 2023, and Suri appears to be living her best life in New York City with Katie Holmes — and she is preparing to head to college in the next year or so. "Suri is applying to schools all over the place. [Katie] really does want her to stay in New York so they can be close to each other. Katie takes great pride in her but is also extremely overprotective," a source told the Daily Mail in March. The outlet reiterated that Tom hasn't been involved in Suri's life since 2013.

Tom Cruise's Daughter Suri Is Reportedly 'Free To Talk' About Scientology As She Turns 18

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes ' daughter, Suri Cruise , has lived a sheltered life away from her father's Scientology beliefs and public scrutiny. However, as she turns 18, she faces the decision to either embrace fame or remain private.

According to a Scientology journalist, Suri becoming an adult in New York will also allow her the freedom to speak about her father and the church of Scientology.

Katie Holmes Has 'Safeguarded' Suri Cruise From Public Scrutiny And Scientology

Suri has enjoyed a predominantly sheltered upbringing in Manhattan, shielded from the limelight by her devoted and fiercely protective mother, Holmes.

The teenager has been mostly kept away from her father, Cruise, and his religious organization, the Church of Scientology. According to a source who spoke to Page Six , the "Mission: Impossible" star hasn't seen his daughter since 2012.

"Katie has safeguarded Suri and she's a devoted mom," the source said. "This is a girl who is a private citizen. She hasn't lived her life in public."

With Suri's eighteenth birthday around the corner, questions arise on whether she plans to return to the spotlight or maintain her private life.

At the time of Holmes and Cruise's divorce, the actress was rumored to have signed various non-disclosure agreements, potentially restricting her from discussing her marriage to Cruise and her experiences within the Church of Scientology.

However, Suri, who will attain legal adulthood in New York State as she turns 18, has the freedom to speak openly about her father and his beliefs as she was too young to sign any NDAs during her parent's divorce.

Suri Cruise Is 'Free To Talk' About Scientology If She Wants

Speaking to the news outlet, Tony Ortega , a seasoned Scientology journalist, shared: "Suri would have been too young to sign any agreement, but she will now be free to talk if she wants to and it's going to be really interesting if she has something to say."

As Cruise is one of Scientology's prominent members, possibly second only to its leader, David Miscavige, Ortega raised questions about potential repercussions that Holmes and Suri could face.

"Regular members who quit are declared 'suppressive persons (SP),' and those who stay in Scientology are told to completely cut them off," he noted. "We don't know for sure if Katie was ever declared an SP."

Ortega added, "If you are a regular church member you could be told to disconnect from your wife and daughter, but because Tom is a celebrity — he's the top celebrity — he gets to ignore all this stuff. Your average member would be kicked out, but David Miscavige can't do that with Tom."

Former Scientologists Mike Rinder and Jeff Augustine echo Ortega's concerns about Scientology's influence on familial relationships and speculate on the treatment of Holmes and Suri within the church.

Augustine told the outlet, "The situation with Suri is a larger story about Scientology and the subject of how they make people no longer useful to them or threats to them non-persons. It's like they cease to exist and that's what happened to Suri."

Rinder particularly emphasized Suri's autonomy, asserting: "Suri is not a Scientologist and never will be…she deserves love and sympathy."

Tom Cruise Admits Katie Holmes Filed For Divorce To 'Protect Suri From Scientology'

According to Page Six , during a deposition in a legal battle against tabloid magazines in November 2013, Cruise disclosed that Holmes had filed for divorce "to protect Suri from Scientology."

However, despite their estrangement, Cruise, with an estimated fortune of $600 million, committed to providing financial support to Holmes and Suri as per their divorce settlement.

He reportedly agreed to an annual payment of $400,000 until Suri reaches 18, alongside covering various expenses, including "medical, dental, insurance, education, college and other extracurricular costs."

Holmes also secured sole custody of their daughter, while Cruise retained "meaningful" visitation rights. Yet, public sightings of Cruise with his daughter have dwindled over the years, with sources suggesting Cruise has a diminishing role in Suri's life despite legal arrangements.

Tom Cruise And Katie Holmes' Marriage Was Strained Because Of Scientology

Cruise first famously professed his love for Holmes in May 2005, leaping on Oprah Winfrey's couch and yelling, "I'm in love!"

The former lovebirds reportedly tied the knot in a lavish Scientologist ceremony in Italy in 2006.

However, as time passed, insiders revealed that the "Batman Begins" actress was feeling increasingly stifled by Cruise's ties to the church of Scientology, which caused a strain in their relationship.

Six years after they tied the knot, Holmes initiated divorce proceedings, aided by her father, Martin Holmes, a powerful divorce attorney.

Employing covert tactics, including the use of burner phones, Holmes allegedly "blindsided" Cruise with the divorce filing while he filmed "Oblivion" in Iceland in June 2012.

Growing up as the only daughter of a devoted single parent presents a stark contrast from the beginnings of Suri's life.

Born on  April 18, 2006, the teenager was initially thrust into the limelight as America's most famous baby and was even captured by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz.

In the same year of Suri's birth, Cruise confessed to Vanity Fair  that he "always wanted to be a father."

Suri Cruise dropped her famous father's last name in an effort to "rebel" against Tom Cruise after harboring "anger" and "resentment" from her childhood , according to an expert.

This week it was announced that Tom's estranged daughter Suri has officially ditched her dad's surname as she adopts a quiet life away from the spotlight. The father-daughter duo have reportedly have had a strained relationship for years with the Mission Impossible star recently missing her 18th birthday party last month while filming in London.

And as Suri has opted to change her last name, one Beverly Hills psychiatrist believes that this could reflect a deeper-seeded issue that stems from her upbringing. In an exclusive interview with The Mirror , expert Carole Lieberman, M.D. explained: "Children ‘drop’ their last name to rebel against their parents. They’re angry and resentful over some hurt from childhood."

She continued: "When they get older, they get back at their parents by ‘dropping’ them as a way to punish their parents for all the painful memories they’ve held onto and obsessed over for years," and added: "These memories could be something as seemingly minor as their parent not coming to all their games in high school, or something major like their father divorcing their mother and going on to have another family."

Carole went on to explain that it is also very common for a child to exhibit this kind of behavior if they are protesting their parents having had "a 'favorite child' who was not them." The psychiatrist added that if this was the case, Suri could feel as though she "grew up in the shadow of a favorite sibling who seemed to get all the special love and attention." She explained that in instances such as these, children will sometimes change their last name as "a way to finally capture their parents’ attention and show them that they knew their secret."

And while Suri's motives for changing her last name were not revealed, it is possible that this could be the case as Tom is a father to two other children including Connor and Isabella, whom he shared with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman. And while Suri is his only biological daughter, whom he welcomed with his ex-wife Katie Holmes, Tom has been reported to have had a distant relationship with her over the past decade.

The Hollywood star's estrangement from his daughter Suri comes after Katie was awarded "sole custody" of her in during the famous pair's divorce settlement back in July of 2012. After the settlement, a source later revealed to Heat Magazine that Tom had made a deal to "allow her [Suri] and her mother to live their own lives because that was what Katie wanted."

Tom Cruise might be one of the biggest names in Hollywood, though he has been known to keep his private life out of the spotlight. How many kids does he have and what are they up to today?

How Many Kids Does Tom Cruise Have?

The Top Gun actor is the father to three kids. He shares his two eldest kids – Isabella Cruise and Connor Cruise – with ex-wife Nicole Kidman . After they tied the knot in 1990, the former couple adopted Bella in 1992. Their family continued to grow in 1995 when they adopted Connor.

After Tom and Nicole called it quits in 2001, the Risky Business actor welcomed daughter Suri with Katie Holmes in 2006. The couple tied the knot later that year, though eventually called it quits and divorced in 2012.

Who Is Isabella Cruise?

Unlike her famous parents, Bella didn’t go into the entertainment industry and has chosen to live a more private life. She and her husband, Max Parker , currently live in a three-bedroom property in South London, England, with their pet lizard.

Tom and Nicole’s eldest daughter works as an artist, and has updated her Instagram page with samples of her colorful drawings.

Additionally, she launched her own fashion brand called BKC, for “Bella Kidman Cruise,” in 2018.

“Bella has been drawing ever since her wee hands could pick up a pen. Since that point in time she’s been evolving in her arts,” her website states . “Her go-to medium was pen and paper for most of her life. However, she is now venturing into other formats and mediums. Including digital. Which has been a bit of a game changer in her opinion. We hope you dig it.”

Who Is Connor Cruise?

Connor is currently based in the Clearwater, Florida , area, where the Church of Scientology – which he is a member of – owns numerous properties.

He runs a barbeque food Instagram account, Connor’s Meat Shack , that launched in March 2021. The account includes photos and videos of different foods he’s prepared on the grill.

Similar to his sister, Connor doesn’t share much information about his personal life on social media. However, the siblings were featured in a rare photo with Tom when they attended a Tampa Bay Lightning game in December 2023.

Suri became a legal adult when she turned 18 on April 18, 2024. She is still in high school as of May 2024 and has opted to live a more private life.

However, it was revealed in May 2024 that the teen snubbed her dad by not using her last name for a performance in a high school play. She used her mother’s middle name – which is Noelle – in place of “Cruise,” which was revealed by a casting sheet for her school production of Head Over Heels .

It’s currently unclear why she made the decision, though she notably doesn’t have a middle name of her own.

Tom Cruise may keep quiet about his kids, but the “Top Gun: Maverick” actor is a father of three.

The Golden Globe winner became a parent while married to Nicole Kidman from 1990 to 2001.

After struggling to conceive, the former couple adopted daughter Isabella and son Connor in 1992 and 1995, respectively.

Amid their divorce, the “Big Little Lies” alum suffered an ectopic pregnancy . After splitting from Cruise and moving on with Keith Urban , Kidman later welcomed daughters Sunday and Faith via surrogate.

As for Cruise, he moved on with Katie Holmes in 2005. The duo welcomed their daughter, Suri, in April 2006, seven months before tying the knot in Italy.

Isabella Jane Cruise

Kidman and Cruise adopted Isabella shortly after she was born in 1992, and their daughter has followed in the “Mission: Impossible” star’s Scientologist footsteps.

In a March 2019 newsletter for the organization, Isabella thanked her dad “for everything.”

Although Kidman keeps quiet about her relationship with Isabella, she did speak about her adult children in a November 2018 Who interview .

“They are adults,” the Emmy winner said of Isabella and Connor at the time. “They are able to make their own decisions.

“ They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them,” she continued.

“I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is.”

Connor was also raised in the Church of Scientology after being adopted in 1995.

Cruise and Kidman’s adult son is active on social media and has documented his fishing trips, his new buzzcut hairstyle and more.

Over the years, Connor and his dad have been photographed on rare outings.

The duo watched basketball games together in Connor’s younger years, and have more recently been spotted boarding a helicopter and hanging out on the “Jack Reacher” set.

Suri Cruise

Holmes gave birth to Suri in 2006 and has maintained a close bond with her daughter.

The “Dawson’s Creek” alum told Town & Country in 2017 that she provides the little one with a “stable and innocent” childhood .

Cruise, however, still has “no part” of his youngest child’s life , a source exclusively told Page Six in March 2022.

In a 2012 defamation lawsuit against Bauer Media, the “Jerry Maguire” star said he didn’t see Suri for three months after his and Holmes’ breakup.

“Listen, when there is a divorce … things change,” Cruise said. “It’s not an ideal situation.”

Ex-Scientologist Leah Remini has asserted that Cruise “can’t be connected” to Suri because Holmes is considered a “suppressive person” or “enemy” in the religion.

Currently, there is no substantive proof, but could this be true?

The Inquisitr reported that Tommy Davis was the person who handled any complaints from Tom Cruise that a woman he was dating was perhaps letting him down or not pleasing him sufficiently. Most of the women being “screened” to date Cruise were already members of the Church of Scientology, but Katie Holmes was not, but still she was “auditioned” for the role of the next Mrs. Tom Cruise.

TMZ is reporting that according to Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes is a Suppressive Person (SP), which is what people are called who are no longer friends of Scientology.

“Sources connected with Tom and Katie tell us there are hard feelings on both sides, which is why they don’t communicate. For Tom’s part, he feels betrayed because he claims Katie never gave him any warning she was leaving him. For Katie’s part, we’re told she felt Tom sucked the life out of her.”

Celebitchy is revealing that Tom Cruise is angry at the rumors that he is not Suri’s father . A number of other men have been mentioned as potentially being Suri’s dad, including Chris Klein, but the leader in the rumor game is definitely Tommy Davis. Rumor alleges that Cruise is terrified that the one who will finally ask for a DNA test is Suri herself.

“Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise’s abrupt divorce has once again given rise to unbelievable new questions about their daughter Suri’s paternity, and Tom is absolutely outraged over the persistent lies and crazy rumors, say sources. The 50-year-old star will be most disturbed over suppositions that Suri will someday ask him to take a paternity test to prove he’s her father.”

Tom Cruise insists he loves Suri, yet he allegedly has no custody of her during the week or the month, and Holmes will only consent to daytime visits here and there. Sources report that currently, Suri has no relationship with Cruise, as he seems to be very busy with his Church of Scientology commitments.

“Tom is furious that rumors over whether or not he’s Suri’s biological dad persist, and he’s completely outraged that the chatter has intensified since his split with Katie,” revealed a source close to Cruise. “Tom loves that little girl with all his heart and his priority in life is keeping a strong father-daughter bond despite his and Katie’s bust-up. In fact, the reason he fast-tracked the divorce settlement is because he wanted to ensure that he’d never have issues seeing Suri or being a big part of her life.”

Celebrity Dirty Laundry is suggesting that Cruise hadn’t seen Suri in nearly two years.

“According to the latest cover issue of In Touch Weekly , Tom Cruise hasn’t seen Suri Cruise in over 540 days. Katie Holmes is reportedly furious at Tom’s absence, and has even told him that his phone calls just aren’t enough anymore.”

And it seems Suri Cruise already has big plans for her college years with a TikTok from a classmate revealing where she is headed in the fall.

In a video shared on TikTok May 20 with the caption "LaG commitment day," Suri and her friends celebrated which schools they would headed to in the fall, showing off their college sweaters in the video set to the Hannah Montana song "I'll Always Remember You." And the 18-year-old could be seen sporting a red Carnegie Mellon University sweater while making silly faces for the camera and doing a cute dance with her friends.

And while Holmes — who split with Tom in 2012 — has expressed her desire to keep Suri out of the spotlight she has reflected on their life together. And for the "Batman Begins" actress, letting Suri have a private life was important because she was "so visible at a young age."

"I really like to protect her," the 45-year-old told Glamour last year . "I'm very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She's an incredible person."

And it also meant a lot to the "Dawson's Creek" alum to have Suri sing and do background vocals on her recent projects, 2022's "Alone Together" and 2023's "Rare Objects."

"I hope she always does something on my films," Holmes said. "I always ask her. But both of those experiences came out of the same sense of what I love about our industry, which is, you have these projects and you become a family with people."

She added, "It was very meaningful to me to have her there, because she's my heart."

The marriage between Tom Cruise, 60, and Nicole Kidman, 55, has been over for so long—the pair divorced in 2001—that it can be easy to forget it ever happened, let alone that they adopted two children together, Connor Cruise, 28, and Isabella, 30.

But as the two children have cropped up in the news over the years, fans have not only been given a reminder of Cruise and Kidman's past, but they've also noticed that Connor Cruise looks suspiciously like his supposedly adoptive dad… enough to leave some wondering if there's more to the story.

Is Tom Cruise actually his son Connor Cruise's biological father?

That's the question some fans are asking after seeing more recent photos of the father and son side-by-side. 

Kidman and Cruise married in 1989 after a whirlwind romance on the set of the film "Days of Thunder," and Kidman soon became pregnant. But she suffered an ectopic pregnancy, and the trauma of the experience is said to have driven the couple to adopt Isabella in 1992 and Connor in 1995. But some fans think there's more to the story than what's previously been told.

Fans think Tom Cruise and Connor Cruise share facial features that indicate Connor may not have been adopted. 

It all began with a Twitter thread begun by ESPN journalist Jemele Hill, who posited that Tom Cruise may be the "greatest actor ever," asking fellow tweeters "am I tripping?" Hill received no shortage of blowback, and she later clarified she meant the greatest "movie star" of all time. 

One person agreed with her on the whole "greatest actor ever" thing, though—just not on the basis of his movies.

Rather, it was on the basis that Cruise has supposedly kept up the ruse of being Connor's adopted dad all these years, for which he said the "man deserves every award imaginable."

At first blush, this seems like just idle celebrity gossip. But when another Twitter user posted a handful of pictures of Connor and Cruise side-by-side?

Well, the resemblance is kind of hard to miss—and some felt like it didn't stop just at Connor and Tom, either. Some thought Connor, Tom and Cruise's daughter with second ex-wife Katie Holmes, Suri Cruise, 16, all have similar eyes and smiles. When you look at the three side-by-side, the resemblance really does become uncanny.

Granted, the similarities between Suri and Tom Cruise are more pronounced than with Connor. But still… you can't help but notice that both apples seem not to have fallen terribly far from the ol' tree.

It has been speculated that Scientology is covering up the fact that Cruise is Connor's biological father. 

There's little hard evidence to back it up, but some fans are convinced that this is yet another story of the Church of Scientology's overreach and theorized that Connor's true parentage is being covered up by Cruise and the Church because he is "too embarrassed to claim his Black son," as one Twitter user put it .

"Mom is probably in the cult too," another tweeter theorized , "but he has the money, fame, etc so he got the kid." Someone else commenting on the situation reported that "many of us in the Black community have suspected… for ages" that Tom Cruise is actually Connor Cruise's biological father, and that the adoption story was to "save face."

The Church of Scientology is alleged to have a checkered past when it comes to racism. The Church itself claims to be explicitly on the side of human rights  on its website . But the religion's founder L. Ron Hubbard was said to be explicitly in support of the former white supremacist regime in South Africa and its segregationist policy of apartheid. (The Church has a different take on Hubbard's stance.)

Of course, in the end, this is all speculation, but Cruise's children have been at the center of  many wild stories —from his alleged estrangement from Suri; to Connor and Isabella's supposed refusal to call Nicole Kidman "mom;" and their reported designation of her as a "suppressive person" apostate within the Church of Scientology. 

The only people who will ever know the truth behind Cruise, Kidman and their children are the stars and their kids themselves. But this certainly wouldn't be the weirdest story to ever come out about Tom Cruise, would it?

The Church of Scientology has denied playing a role in the marriages and divorces between Cruise and Kidman , Cruise and Holmes , Connor and Isabella Cruise's relationships with their parents , and Suri Cruise's relationship with Tom Cruise.
