The most exceptional fact about this village in India, or probably in the world is that no house here has any doors. The Char Dham Yatra has been well organized. The temple visits were well timed so that we get darshan in all the temples. Food was quite homely and excellent. The Yatra director was well knowledgeable of the history of the temples and kept everyone interested. I would love to travel again with this team and refer others too. Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much for your appreciation. We are humbled.

Lalitha Muralidhar

The experience with Tirtha Yatra team has been spiritual and great. I will encourage my friends to travel to the holy places with Tirtha Yatra team. They give importance to satsang and satvic food. The kirtana and satsang helps yatris to be more devoted. The sthala purana narrations by the Yatra Director were good.

We are glad that you enjoyed your spiritually uplifting travel to Char Dham with our team.

' src=

Hare Krishna, Do we expect a lot of kirtan and lecture during yatra as it seems the yatra doesn’t belong to any Nama Hatta but more a kind of private travel agency. and secondly is there any deduction in amount if we want to join and leave the yatra from haridwar and not using pony service from Uttar Kashi to Kedarnath.

Hare Krishna Mataji, there would be kirtana as well as lectures during the yatra. Yes it is private pilgrimage tourism company created by ISKCON devotees. The amount will remain the same, in case you are wanting to join us from Haridwar because Yatra actually begins from Haridwara. Pony services are anyway at extra and actual cost to the vendor.

Rajan Murthy

I am interested for this CharDham trip..couple of questions from my side

1) Based on the above comments, everyone need to assemble at Delhi Airport on 1st October night…I would be travelling from Mumbai, so I need to take care of my flight from Mumbai to Delhi myself.

2) Does everyone need to take the Helicopter till Kedarnath and return or we can travel by pony service etc ?

3) Can you provide us with a checklist of items required from our end for this journey since I am travelling for the first time.

4) Typically what is your group strength for this trip (15-20 people).

Dear Rajan Sir, Please find the answer for your questions: 1) Everyone has to assemble at Delhi airport on Sep 30 night between 9 pm -10 pm. 2) No compulsion on the helicopter to Kedar. Pony can also be taken. 3) Once the registration is made, you will be provided with the check list and other necessary requirements a month before the yatra. 4) For Char Dham, the maximum strength will be 40 yatris. Thank you.

' src=

Hare Krishna Give us the total cost per head (Bangalore airport to Bangalore airport)and consider extra charges nil.. Thanks

' src=

If we select the do book flight ticket to us.

You can book the flights on your own as well.

History of Yamunotri

The Yamunotri temple is dedicated to goddess Yamuna, the main Deity of the temple is made up of Black marble. Yamunotri temple was built by Maharani Gularia of Jaipur in the 19th century after the temple has been destroyed by Climate. The Yamunotri Shrine was originally constructed by Maharaj Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal on left seashore of Yamuna River.

According to Hindu mythology, It is believed that Yamuna is the daughter of Surya the Sun God & the sister of Yama, the god of death.

Mythology about Yamunotri

The Yamunotri Temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, an iconification of the second most sacred river of India, River Yamuna. Goddess Yamuna is the twin sister of Yama, the God of Death and is believed to be the daughter of Surya Dev, the Sun god and Sanghya, the Goddess of Perception. In the Vedas, Goddess Yamuna referred to as Yami, the Lady of life.

The Yamuna was named so by an angry Surya Dev who felt insulted when Goddess Sanghya couldn’t see him in the eye due to his dazzling light. She flickered while trying her best to open her eyes in front of Surya Dev. Since Goddess Sanghya had tried to open her eyes, Surya Dev blessed the Yamuna that she would be revered as a goddess and remembered eternally. Goddess Yamuna also inherited the frivolous nature through this incident.

According to legends, the great sage Asti Muni lived as a hermit in the Yamunotri region. He bathed at both Ganga and Yamuna rivers throughout his life but as he became old he couldn’t travel to Gangotri. A stream of Ganga emerged opposite to River Yamuna just for his uninterrupted ritual. Yamunotri presents a rare sight of Ganga and Yamuna together.

Kalind Parvat, the mountain peak that lies adjacent to the source of Yamuna River is named after Surya Dev. Surya Dev is also known as Kalind and gushing out of Kalind Parvat, Yamuna is also referred to as Kalindi.

Legend has it that Lord Hanuman after burning Lanka extinguished the fire from his tail in the icy waters of Yamuna at Banderpooch. Hence the peak is called as Bander (monkey) Poocch (tail).

Devotees believe that taking a dip in the holy waters of Yamuna washes out their fear of death and relieves them of their sins. Pilgrims visit Yamunotri temple to seek the blessings of Goddess Yamuna, Yama, Surya Dev, and Goddess Sanghy.

Visit the Zelenograd Innovation Technology Center , a hub for startups and tech companies. Explore the exhibits and possibly interact with local innovators. For lunch, head to one of the local cafes to try some traditional Russian cuisine.

Conclude your day with a visit to the Kryukovo Station Square , where you can admire the modern architecture and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. If time allows, explore the surrounding shopping areas for souvenirs or local products.

Day trip to Suzdal from Moscow: transport, sights, maps and tips

yatra vats tour and travels

 DAY TRIP TO SUZDAL

Suzdal is one of the most popular destinations on the Golden Ring and the whole city is often described as an open-air museum.  The city has no railway station and practically no heavy industry, meaning that is has preserved its provincial charm and a great deal of architectural monuments.

yatra vats tour and travels

From Moscow, Suzdal is not as easy to get to as Sergiev Posad (the closest Golden Ring city to the capital) but it is worth going the extra distance as Suzdal provides more of a contrast from Moscow.  If you make use of high-speed trains it is possible and not too demanding to visit for even just a day, but of course spending the night there is recommended to soak in the atmosphere or to combine it with a visit to neighbouring Vladimir.  As the city is a very popular tourist destination you will have no problem finding a cafe or guesthouse there.  There is practically no public transport in the city, but the city is small and most sights are located relatively close to each other.

Getting There and Back

Via Vladimir

Direct to Suzdal

Buses directly to Suzdal leave from Moscow’s Schyolkovsky Bus Station.  There are about 9 buses a day and it takes around 4½ hours depending on traffic.  The buses stop at Vladimir too.  Using this option will mean a rather exhausting day trip.

Orientation and Main Sights

yatra vats tour and travels

Suzdal is a relatively small city and it is not difficult to walk around the city to see most of the sights.

Suzdal

The main road in the city is Ulitsa Lenina which runs north across the whole city.

Suzdal

The main sights of Suzdal are located either on or just off this road, including the two main sights: the Suzdal Kremlin in the south and the Spaso-Yevfimiev Monastery in the north.

Suzdal

More information about Suzdal can be found on our Suzdal  pages.

Suzdal is famous for its medovukha (mead) which is an alcoholic drink made out of honey.  It can be drunk either hot or cold, meaning it perfect in both summer and winter, and you will find it on practically every menu in the city.  There are various flavours of the drink available and even a non-alcoholic version.  In addition to medovukha, you can find all traditional Russian souvenirs in the city and there is a big souvenir market on Torgovaya Ploschad.
