Nursery Tour & Checklist from unOriginalMom.com

Perhaps the very best part about planning for a baby is designing and decorating the nursery!  There is something so special and exciting about planning the perfect room for your little one.  Although, what you don’t really think about (at least at first!) is that the nursery is much more for the mama than it is for the baby!  Do you remember what your nursery looked like?  I don’t!  If it was your room for your entire childhood, you probably do, but it was also likely redecorated several times as you grew, so you may not remember how it looked when you were very young.  If there’s one specific piece of advice I can give you as you plan your nursery, it is this: make it into a room YOU love.  You’re the one that will be changing thousands of diapers at the changing table, staring at the walls at 2am as you pace the floor with a fussy baby, folding and putting away baby’s laundry each week, and standing in the doorway just staring into the crib as the baby sleeps.

The nursery is, by far, my favorite room in our house.   We didn’t find out the gender of the baby ahead of time (read more about that decision here ), so I knew I wanted something neutral but not too green or yellow.  I also didn’t want a “theme,” nor did I want to purchase a bedding set (since they are ridiculously expensive and you’re not supposed to use crib bumpers or quilts or pillows in the crib for at least the first 6 months anyway), so I was basically starting from scratch.  I used a Pinterest board to keep track of my inspiration photos, showed my husband what I was envisioning, and he created this beautiful room for me the baby! ;-)

The most labor intensive part was the board and batten treatment on the walls, but it turned out beautifully.  It is the best part of the room, and I can’t imagine what it would look like without it.  Isn’t it gorgeous?

Now, for a tour of the nursery and a run-down of what I found to be the most helpful items in the room!

This was a $50 craigslist find that my husband stripped and refinished – it turned out great!

I think having a dresser in the nursery is pretty much a no-brainer, and you can figure out what you need to have inside of it.  But I want to draw your attention to what’s on top of the dresser – my old ipod and speakers.  I bought a white noise track (we use the Canyon River track from the album Natural White Noise for Babies ) and just set it on repeat at naptime and bedtime.  It really helped her sleep soundly at first (newborns are not used to complete silence) but also covered up ambient noises in the house so she wasn’t startled awake.  We still use this daily!  They sell white noise machines, but I think they’re a waste of money.  Use something you already have – even a radio set to static between stations would work.

You can read more about the framed scripture (and print your own for free!) here .

I absolutely LOVE our crib – the Bedford Monteray from JC Penney .  It was a gift from my husband’s parents, and I am so glad we went with a more substantial, beautiful piece of furniture rather than buying a cheaper crib somewhere.  It will convert to a toddler bed, and later, it becomes a head and foot board for a full size bed.  We will definitely be getting lots of use out of this!

One of the smartest things we did in this room was to put a seat next to the crib.  We were originally looking for an ottoman with storage inside for larger blankets and things, but I found this super cute one at Home Goods and couldn’t resist.  It is great for when I just need to sit and pat her on the pack or give her back her pacifier as she’s falling asleep (not a normal habit, but occasionally necessary).  Plus when I’m sitting in the glider feeding the baby, it’s a place that my husband can come in and sit down if he wants.

Gender Neutral Nursery Tour & Checklist | unOriginalMom.com

This was a gift from my parents, and is another one of my favorites in the room!  It is SO comfortable.  It is a Dutailer UltraMotion Glider (from everything I’ve read, the BEST brand of glider that’s out there).  It also reclines, which was great for middle-of-the-night feedings.   A comfy place to sit and feed the baby is a MUST in a nursery!

I also want you to notice the end table next to the glider.  It is stocked with Mommy-reading-materials (my kindle and some magazines) as well as a water bottle.  If you are breastfeeding, you will be SO thirsty all the time – especially in the first month or so.  I always felt parched at each feeding session.  I’d recommend stationing a water bottle near every place in the house that you nurse the baby.

Changing Table:

Gender Neutral Nursery Tour & Checklist | unOriginalMom.com

Lots of places I read said that a separate changing table isn’t necessary – you can just put a changing pad on top of a dresser.  If space is an issue in your nursery, then that is a great solution
but if you have the space for it, I’d highly recommend getting a changing table!  It doesn’t have to be a beautiful one that matches the rest of your furniture – this one was $25 on craigslist.  It’s nice to have something that’s the right height for changing a baby rather than bending over a dresser, but the best thing about it is having a place to store more stuff!  Not only diapers and wipes, but hand sanitizer, air freshener, diaper rash creams, medicine/vitamins, nail clippers, thermometers, extra bottles of baby wash and baby powder
just lots of little miscellaneous items that otherwise wouldn’t have a home.

I found some baskets on sale at Michael’s that are perfect for holding diapers and other items.  We have two different baskets for diapers because we use two types of diapers – the less expensive Target Up & Up brand diapers during the day when we’re doing diaper changes every couple of hours, and Pampers Baby Dry at night when she goes about 11 hours without a diaper change.

Now, the great debate – special diaper pail or just a regular old trash can with a lid?  We decided that a special diaper trash can (like a Diaper Genie or Diaper Champ ) wasn’t necessary – we’d use a regular trash can and just empty it whenever it starts to smell.  We found a nice one at Home Goods that looked a little nicer than a regular trash can.  I didn’t regret that decision until recently
now that we’re doing lots more solid foods, the poop is SMELLY!  I think the solution is going to be to take poopy diapers directly out to the trash can in the garage and just use the nursery trash can for wet diapers and other trash.  But I am beginning to see why a special diaper pail might have been a good idea…

(The prints above the changing table were super easy – find out how you can make your own HERE )

Gender Neutral Nursery Tour & Checklist: Baby Closet Organization | unOriginalMom.com

(These are pictures from before the baby was born – there is a LOT more stuff in it now, but I thought it might be helpful for you to see how I organized all the stuff we had before she was born!)

We are lucky to have a pretty big closet in this room, but regardless of the size of the closet you need a good organizational system in place BEFORE the baby is born.  Actually, before the baby shower is even better.  You will not believe the amount of stuff you will end up with!  Maximize your space as best you can.  I sketched out an idea of how I wanted the shelves/hanging racks and my husband bought and installed them.  There was enough space on the sides for some shelves as well, which is great for keeping larger items. The cube organizer  was a great purchase – perfect for a bookcase and to corral smaller toys and things.

I have all of the baby clothes in the closet and none in the dresser – it helps me to see them all and keep them organized them by size. We use the hanging shelves for plain onesies, pants, and socks.

Your baby will grow faster than you can imagine – which means outgrowing clothes constantly!  I bought several inexpensive clear bins from Walmart and labeled them by size, so as my daughter outgrows clothes I can just toss them in the bin to save for the next baby!  I put the gender neutral items (like plain onesies) in their own bin regardless of size in case the next one is a boy, so I won’t have to sort through the bins again to pull that stuff out.

Other Items:

  • Baby Monitor.  We have the Graco Secure Coverage Digital Monitor , and we love it!
  • Night Light and/or variety of lighting.  We have a night light and two lamps.  It’s nice to be able to have dimmer lighting at bedtime, so we turn one of the lamps off.
  • Laundry Hamper
  • Personalized decor.  Make the room your own!  I made Painted Fabric Canvases , a Wood Sign , and Printable Nursery Scripture Art .

Whew, that’s a lot of information!  I hope at least some of it was helpful to you.  Here is a free printable Nursery Checklist to help you keep track of it all!

Great job with these checklists! Funny about the diaper pail…we just started some baby oatmeal and wowza, what a difference from just breast milk! Also, I love this part! “You’re the one that will be changing thousands of diapers at the changing table, staring at the walls at 2am as you pace the floor with a fussy baby, folding and putting away baby’s laundry each week, and standing in the doorway just staring into the crib as the baby sleeps.” So true :)

Oh, it gets much worse as you add more solid foods to their diet!! I keep wondering, how can such a horrible smell come from such a small and sweet little girl??

Thanks for stopping by the Mom’s Monday Mingle. Following you here and everywhere!

You covered it all. Looks so nice and lots of work.

You have got it all under control. I love the silhouette art above the changing table! Thanks for sharing with us this week at Monday Funday!

Thanks, Trish!

i would add the board and batten is a nursery must-have as well!

I agree…it’s definitely a must-have for my nursery, anyway! :-)

Great tour of your nursery! I’ve pinned it to my nursery ideas board. I like the gender neutral nurseries. Yours feels very soothing without all the bright colors that you see so often. I really appreciate your review of where you purchased things and price (craigslist versus department store). Also your thoughts on the diaper genie and your regret for not splurging on this more targeted item. Thanks for sharing with us!

Thanks Bethany – that’s exactly what I was going for, I didn’t want bright, bold colors, but was trying hard to be soothing/neutral without being too feminine, just in case it was a boy! Thanks for stopping by!

This is seriously one of the cutest nursery’s I’ve seen. I’ve been trying to look around and get ideas for my own baby room. I still have a few months but these ideas are so great! Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Aw, thanks so much Susan! Glad to give you a few ideas. Enjoy decorating the nursery, but more importantly, enjoy your little one when he/she makes its appearance!

What a great nursery! It’s my favorite room to decorate too ;) Love the board and batten and that dresser!! Jamie @ somuchbetterwithage.com

Such a sweet room!

Visiting from Monday Funday. I’d like to invite you to my Friday Flash Blog, where you can share your best blog entry of the week! The party goes on ALL weekend at thejennyevolution.com . And who knows, you may just get featured next week.

This is a great post, Meredith! I am in love with the baby closet :-) Thank you for sharing at our ALL MY BLOGGY FRIENDS party !

This is really great, I love the colors. So soothing and it really is an adorable nursery. Thanks so much for sharing at Crafty Tuesday.

Hi! Just wondering where you got those curtains?

Thanks, Andie

Hi Andie, my mother-in-law made the curtains, but we got the fabric from JoAnns, in the upholstry section on those big rolls. Not sure if they’d still carry it since it’s been almost two years, but I do remember seeing it there since we got it!

Loooove it. Can I just say that I cracked up when I saw “labor intensive”…ha. I completely agree with you about the changing table – everyone asked why we had one and I thought…because we’re both really tall and I feel much safer with one! I really like that you have an ipod in the room – so do we and my daughter absolutely loves jamming out (it’s also adorable because it’s a panda speaker…muahah!). Thanks for sharing, I loved reading through this and seeing your nursery!

The room is very small and has one window. This is the view looking in when you stand at the doorway. The crib and closet are on the left and the dresser/changing table is on the right.

Nursery Before

How about a before picture? This room was a hot mess. We never did anything with it after moving in because the hope was that it would become a nursery so it was one of those “shove everything random and close the door” kind of spaces.

The first thing that I did was have the walls painted. I knew I wanted white and bright because the room is so small and I just love white walls. The issue was that we are in a rental and the carpet and trim are far from “white and bright.” I painted the walls Sherwin-Williams Dover White . It’s one of their creamiest whites with yellow undertones but I was shocked to discover that once it was on the walls it didn’t look the slightest bit creamy and actually looked cool because of the trim and carpet.

I thought about changing the trim and even bought paint and hired my painter to do it but then decided to leave it. I knew it would drive me crazy to have the trim and doors a different color in one room and again…it’s a rental. At least the walls weren’t that terrible yellow color anymore!

Baby Boy Adventure Nursery

Here’s a view of the right side of the room.

  • The glider was a gift from one of my yoga students who so kindly handed it down to me since her littles are out of the rocking stage. It’s a a great chair and so comfortable! I have no doubt we will spend a lot of time sitting here!
  • My great grandmother crocheted the afghan. It’s one of the things I took with me when my grandmother moved out of her house.
  • I love how this lamp hangs over the chair. It provides the most perfect warm light for reading.
  • Babyletto 3-Drawer Changer Dresser . I went back and forth between doing white furniture or dark brown and I’m so glad I went dark. It would have been a bit much to have all those different shades of white in the nursery. The changing table is removable for when you no longer need it.
  • Ikea Raskog Utility Cart for diaper organization. I have one downstairs in the den too. I also loved this one from Target but it didn’t come in black.
  • The wall decal is from Etsy. This company has tons of options and can also make custom decals!
  • The clothespin collage photo frame is from Marshall’s but I can’t find an exact link. Here is something similar and there are tons of options on Etsy . Can’t wait to hang some photos of a cute baby on there!

Baby Boy Nursery - Glider

  • I found the side table on Wafair. I wanted somewhere to place our salt lamp and drinks and wanted two levels so that I would also have somewhere to put the white noise machine. (We are just using an Echo Dot for that.)
  • The throw rug is another Wayfair find.

Nursery Decor

Books and the sweetest little elephant chair/seat next to the glider. The elephant chair was a shower gift and ended up matching the decor of the room perfectly!

Nursery Shelving

Since the room is so small I wanted to do floating shelves instead of a bookcase. I found these shelves on Amazon and filled them up with book that I received at my shower as well as some stuffed animals and plants from Ikea. The giraffe was a gift from a friend. She brought it back from Bali!

Wild Animal Adventure Nursery

This is the Etsy corner of the room! 🙂

  • The crib is Babyletto Modo and I love the clean and simple lines! It’s a 3-in-one and converts to a toddler bed. (I know the stuffed animals can’t stay in there…just decoration for now.)
  • My mom gifted me this organic crib mattress .
  • The elephant mobile is an Etsy find and made it Thailand. I’m obsessed.
  • The colorful elephant crib sheet is another Etsy find. I got the minky fabric and while it was a splurge, it’s incredibly soft!
  • The black and white prints are also from Etsy.
  • The “Keep it Wild” banner…Etsy!
  • And finally, the welcome baby boy frame was a gift and matched perfectly with the photo collage frame on the other side of the room.

Nursery Closet Organization

For being such a small room, the closet actually has plenty of space.

  • I did an over the door shoe organizer  for blankets, burp cloths, wash cloths and bibs.
  • Inside the closet, the two bars for hanging clothes didn’t make sense for our needs so we installed some cheap shelving from Home Depot. We were going to install something a little more sturdy/permanent/custom from The Container Store but it was crazy expensive…and again…it’s just a rental so it didn’t make sense.

Baby Boy Wild Adventure Nursery Tour

A few final notes…

  • The room had an awful chandelier style light fixture. We switched that out for a small 42-inch three-blade fan with a light . I read a lot of things that said it was good to have a fan in the nursery for air circulation.
  • The entire house has these awesome shutters. They’re great because you can open them wide to let a lot of light in or just open the slats. Also, if you flip the slats up instead of down, they almost blackout the entire room, no matter the time of day. I think that because of this I can avoid blackout curtains!
  • The fiddle fig is not real and an Ikea special. 😉 I really wanted some green in the room but without a baby playing in the dirt or me having the responsibility of keeping up with it.

That wraps it up! I hope you enjoyed my little nursery tour. I’m not sure how much we’ll use the nursery in the early days as I’m planning on having the little guy sleep in the same room as me in a bassinet but I’m sure I’ll use the glider and changing table a good bit!

Oh and a related question about sleeping…so newborns nap a lot. Where do they nap? Do you put them in the bassinet? Or in the crib even if you’re using a bassinet? Or just anywhere around the house? I also have a Rock n’ Play downstairs. Help!

Can’t wait to share more nursery photos in the weeks to come…with a cute little babe in there!

It’s beautiful and a room that he will be able to grow into!! For my daughter I did an Alice in wonderland theme because I wanted to do a take on an “adventure” type room as well but we did kind of an old fashioned look to it with cream colors and light pink. Now she is 10 and is all about purple and puppy everything so curious to see what she will want in a few years. Great job on the room!!â˜ș

' src=

Cute nursery! You’re going to want a couple options for naps around the house when baby is still little. Personally we loved the LeachCo Plush Podster. New babies love to be cuddled in on the sides and at an incline, and it’s perfect for plopping on the couch or literally anywhere in the house! Also a little bouncer seat is nice, or a swing… think of the places you’ll be in the house (i.e. the bathroom or the kitchen) and plan on a small (ideally portable!) option to put baby in while you’re in there ?

' src=

I have a 1 month old (today!) and he naps in the swing and in the napper that came with the pack n play. Or on me. When he was brand new it was mostly on me. At night he’s in the bassinet or recently in the rock n play because he’s a little congested and the angle helps.

Good luck!!!

' src=

My baby boy is 2 months old and likes to sleep in motion. He naps in his swing and sleeps overnight in his rock and play. Even though the rock and play isn’t recommended for overnight unsupervised sleep, my babe has always had great neck control and I’m not worried about it. I started allowing him to sleep overnight in there because around 3-4 weeks he started having terrible gas pains and allowing him to sleep at an angle was great. He did sleep in the top mattress portion of the pack and play next my bed. They’ll sleep wherever you put them when they’re very tiny (at least my babe did) doesn’t mean they’ll stay asleep for very long lol but around 3-4 weeks my babe woke UP to the world and started needing some help (motion) to sleep. Every day will be different though some days he’ll love a swing or sleep perfectly in his crib other days you’ll be be like whatttt happened? My husband always reminds me “what worked yesterday worked YESTERDAY. Today is today!”

' src=

It looks wonderful!! Calm and inviting for sure! So exciting that baby boy will be here and you’ll be using this space so soon!

For naps: my son is 9 weeks and still naps all over. Lots of naps while I am holding him (or my husband is), or while I am wearing him in a wrap; he also naps well in his swing (we make sure he is supervised when he naps in his swing since he isn’t lying flat). We have brought his bassinet into the living room for naps before too, or brought him back into the bedroom to nap on his bassinet there. He’s only napped in his crib a couple times so far. We haven’t bothered yet with blackout curtains or even being precious about noise and he still naps well. (Phew! That’s kind of the luck of the draw though I think and could change at any time ha.)

We have one of those Boppy Loungers too, and he doesn’t nap well in it (many babies do though technically they say not too since it isn’t lying flat); but now that he is more aware he loves hanging out in it while awake and chatting at us or staring at the ceiling fan!

Anyway basically you will figure out what works for naps for you and your baby but I think at first they are super flexible which is convenient!

' src=

At first, the baby will probably nap a lot on you (while holding or wearing him) or your visitors (everyone loves to snuggle a baby!). 🙂 My son also napped in his bouncy chair and/or rock ‘n’ play in the living room if I wanted to set him down to get something done. And here’s the assvice you’re going to hear from everyone, because it’s true: In those first weeks…just hold that baby. You will never regret letting him nap on your chest. It goes so, so impossibly fast.

' src=

pretty! So my son never once (I swear, never once) napped in his crib. Most of the time as a baby, naps in the house were on me or in the bouncy seat. Sometimes the swing. The car was our best nap spot. Sometimes I did rock him in the stroller in the house — gotta do what works!

' src=

Love the life is an adventure sign! Definitely a cozy room for baby boy to come home to!

' src=

I love the nursery- it is absolutely adorable and such a great space for you to create memories in. For the naps … we use the Boppy lounger or Leach co. Lounger (we have one upstairs , one downstairs) Most newborns have their days and nights mixed up, so I keep the daytime naps out of the crib (or whatever they are sleeping in at night) on one of the pillows or while I’m wearing/holding her and in a bright room with normal noise levels until they’re starting more routine nap times and sleeping stretches at night. Once they start getting predictable (around 3-4mos) I move them to their “sleep environment “ for naps – crib, dark room, white noise machine.

' src=

What a sweet nursery! I love the cheery pops of color and all the animals. Absolutely adorable. Wishing you all the best as you welcome sweet baby boy!

' src=

When My son was first born he napped on the top of a pack and play in my living room and slept overnight in the rock and play in my room. Then it got a lot harder to get him to nap so we found out he loved a fisher price swing that swayed from side to side and he napped in that until We transitioned him to the crib at about 4.5 months.

' src=

The room looks beautiful! Some of my favorite things for my daughter are blankets that were knit or crocheted for her. I love that you have that afghan from your great grandmother! And that elephant chair is adorable.

' src=

Ergobaby, ergobaby, ergobaby. It’s the gift they keeps on giving. That said, every baby is so different, there is just no predicting. But ergobaby.

' src=

It’s perfect! The mobile over the crib is ADORABLE!

' src=

The nursery is so cute! Very calming! When my daughter was little, I tried to have her nap in the crib sometimes. I wasn’t super rigid about forcing it, but she was a pretty good sleeper and I figured why not get her used to it. The transition to her sleeping in the crib at night was really smooth, I think in large part because it wasn’t a foreign space. But again – whatever works! You can’t “spoil” them in the early days! <3

' src=

The rock n play is perfect for naps. Or the bassinet if he prefers that. The crib eventually but likely not at first.

' src=

My daughter napped in her baby nest on our coffee table downstairs OR while being held / in a baby carrier for the first 6ish weeks of her life. Then I started trying to put her down for naps in her crib during hte day – again in her baby nest. For the first 12 weeks we moved the baby nest from the coffee table to the bassinet to the crib. Now that she’s 5 months old she only naps in her crib!

When we found out that we were pregnant with our baby boy, I immediately knew that I wanted to style a National Park nursery for him. Our family loves camping, backpacking, and exploring the outdoors ; many of our favorite memories as a family have been made in National Parks, so the theme just seemed to fit!

Crib Review: Sweetpea Baby’s Rosewood Crib

It was easy for us to fall in love with Sweetpea Baby’s Rosewood crib . Made from solid wooden panels, it’s designed with farms and the woods in mind. We loved its beautiful design and knew it would have a timeless beauty that we could use for our baby boy and girl. It only took my husband 22 minutes to build from start to finish! Amazing, right?

We went with the “weathered white” finish and love how it pairs so nicely with a variety of white, gray, and brown tones. It’s a 4-in-1 convertible crib, which means that you can set it up as a traditional crib, toddler bed, day bed, or full-sized bed (with a a conversation kit). This rustic-style crib can truly grow with our baby!

How We Used the Rosewood Crib In Our Daughter’s Nursery

When we first received the Rosewood crib, I was 9 months pregnant with our son. We knew he would be sleeping with us for the first few months of his life until we moved to a new state, where we would set up his National Park nursery in our new home. Since he didn’t need it right away, we set up the crib in our daughter’s room. She loved this beautiful crib and enjoyed it for several months before transitioning to a big girl bed.

Call Me Lore

Baby Boy Nursery Tour

Call me Lore, Baby boy nursery inspiration

I am so excited to finally be able to share Diego’s nursery with everyone! His due date is coming and I finally feel like we have everything in order and ready to go.

Choosing the nursery colors and defining what I wanted for the walls took me forever, I probably spent more time than I needed on Pinterest looking for ideas. In the end, we decided to go with a grey color palette, really neutral. Since I will be spending a lot of time in there I wanted the space to feel peaceful and inviting – not full of vibrant colors, that I would get sick of quickly.

The furniture we got the majority from Restoration Hardware and the rocking chair from Pottery Barn kids ( linked here ). Both brands have an amazing selection for the style that we were going for. I would really recommend them, also the delivery and install process was painless – the delivery guys came and took care of everything.

My favorite part of the nursery is the mural behind his crib, I really wanted something that symbolized endless opportunities and dreams for him. We added the phrase  “Dream Big” to the wall because I ALWAYS want him to know that the sky’s the limit; if he can dream of something he can achieve it. We will always be there to support him and help him as much as we possibly can. For his future I want him to always follow his heart and to fight for what he wants. I suppose all parents have the highest hopes for their kids if he can one day say that he is happy, that’s good enough for me.

I hope you love the nursery as much as we do and thank you for stopping by the blog. Keep scrolling to shop the nursery!

Naps like a champ in his crib, but not so much at night. I think the third baby basically ruins you of all the things you swore you wouldn’t do as a parent… like co-sleeping. I told myself I would never start this habit—oops. But I mean, look at that face, how could you not?!? 😍 A post shared by s a m a n t h a (@hellotinylove) on Jan 20, 2019 at 5:57pm PST
FINALLY!!! Elie’s nursery and all deets are up on the blog today! True story, the first thing I wanted to do when moving into this house a year ago was swap out the fan in this room. [Okay, maybe installing custom closets was first, but this was right behind that!!] Thanks to @lampsplus, we got a sleek, modern, LEGIT fan, along with one of my favorite pieces in this room [the floor lamp in the corner]! So happy how it all came together!! #lampsplus #mylampsplus … The sign above Elie’s crib was custom made by @huntandgathergoods. This is one stylish babe.

The daughter of 25-year-old model Gigi Hadid and 27-year-old singer Zayn Malik , born in September, may remain off the grid and the ‘gram.

But Hadid finally gave fans a look inside the nursery, sharing pictures of the posh room, filled to the brim with designer duds and baby must-haves.

The tour was posted to her Instagram Story on Dec. 7. It started with a mirror selfie of the then-pregnant Hadid, also revealing warm burnt orange walls, stuffed animals, framed Etsy prints and a changing basket from Anthropologie, found to be $108.

Plus, the nursery is appears to have its very own library, filled with children’s books for endless bedtime stories.

baby nursery tour

Other photos revealed a deeper love for Anthro, showing an abundance of tasseled throw pillows in neutral colors with pops of both pink and blue, many retailing for more than $200 each. A second mirror pic with Hadid in a messy bun and tie-dye shirt show the other side of the nursery, with yet another Anthropologie find — a $1,598 hand-carved wooden dresser.

“Decorating and spending time in her nursery really helped me feel prepared when I would get too in my head :),” read the caption imposed on the photo.

We hope Hadid can now relax with her daughter, whose name is yet to be announced, in the nursery of the year, cuddling with Jelly Cat stuffed animals, a fully-stocked book shelf, and a designer wardrobe that she shared with fans in late October.

While fans are still standing by to see the face and learn the name of the tiny influencer-to-be, you can model your own nursery after the Hadid/Malik offspring, or add some flair to your own bedroom with these sophisticated and warm pieces from Anthropologie, Bloomingdale’s, Pottery Barn and more.

Anthropologie Peacock Daybed , $998

A Rattan daybed

Start story time over on the daybed, spending some quality time together before sending the baby to bed in the crib.

This daybed from Anthropologie is made of Rattan wood, sealed to prevent damage. It can be wiped clean with a damp cloth, perfect for playtime and an easy clean up afterward.

Anthropologie Charlie Sprout Bonded and Almasi Pillows , $345 – $390

Two pillows in tan with blue beads and pink pom poms

When you buy a baby a daybed, you’re going to need some pillows to go with it.

The model turned back to Anthropologie to fill the bed with cozy cushions, choosing two from the Charlie Sprout collection, including the Bonded pillow and the Almasi style in Flax.

“Designed and crafted in Brooklyn, New York, Charlie Sprout is an eclectic and artistically inspired luxury home decor collection with unique pieces that add fun, color and sophistication to the home,” reads the Anthropologie site.

Anthropologie Hand-carved Delhi Six-Drawer Dresser , $1,598

A hand-carved wooden dresser on a light purple wall

What a better place to store her designer baby clothes than in a hand-carved dresser, from Anthropologie once again.

The six-drawer dresser is made of tropical hardwood and embellished with aged brass hardware. Not just for babies of the stars, the item has received glowing reviews from Anthro customers, too.

“Omg I just received this dresser yesterday after waiting 5 months for it because of it being on back order and all I can say is totally worth the wait and money. It’s extremely heavy and well made. It’s absolutely perfect in my sons nursery! Definitely one of a kind,” reads one review on the product page.

Anthropologie Olli Ella Reva Changing Basket , $108

A changing basket for a baby with a floral blanket inside

Add some beauty to a not-so-fun task of changing diapers, with this basket from Olli Ella.

Sold at Anthropologie for $108, the hand-woven seagrass basket matches the wicker aesthetic of the entire nursery. Use the basket, plus a plush pad also sold at Anthropologie , to change your little one. Once they outgrow the diaper days, transform the basket into a storage device for toys and books, or move it to a different room to hold whatever you’d like.

Pottery Barn Monet Rattan Rocking Chair , $600 (originally $750)

A wooden woven rocking chair

Sticking with the Rattan theme, this rocking chair from Pottery Barn is now on sale, with $150 off of the original price.

The price rocks, and so does this adorable chair, which comes in four neutral shades of tan, brown and black to match any nursery. The rocking chair is hand-made and can be easily cleaned and maintained with a soft, dry cloth.

Jellycat Bashful Bunny & If I Were a Bunny Book , $22.50

A stuffed bunny and a bunny book

Story time has never been more fun with a stuffed bunny and a matching book from Jellycat.

Sold at Bloomingdale’s , this is the perfect baby shower gift to give to any parent-to-be. The book, which includes soft textures for babies to explore, is recommended for newborns. The stuffed rabbit is a super soft plushy they’re sure to fall in love with as well. The bunny and book come in a gray color like Hadid’s, and also a light pink and baby blue .

The Tot Maileg Noah’s Ark and Friends Rattles , $78

A set of four stuffed animals in an ark

Start stocking the ark, and the crib, with animal friends for your little one to play with all day.

This Noah’s Ark set sold at The Tot is a great gift for baby and parent. While not in use, the ark serves as an adorable decoration, and when playtime begins, your kiddo won’t be able to stop rattling the set of four animals, including a panda, pig, rhino and a lion.

BABYMETAL recently collaborated with ELECTRIC CALLBOY on a new song that will make you dance and sing: "Ratatata" . This song masterfully fuses the signature styles of both bands, seamlessly blending their worlds and pushing the music to exhilarating new limits.

Always pushing boundaries and testing the limits of metal music, BABYMETAL are no strangers to collaborations, with recent partnerships including BRING ME THE HORIZON , Tom Morello and Lil Uzi Vert .

In April 2023, BABYMETAL announced the addition of a new third member, Momoko Okazaki , who goes by the name of Momometal .

Okazaki had been a member of BABYMETAL 's trio of backup dancers (along with Kano Fujihira and Riho Sayashi ),known as " Avengers ", since 2019, following the departure of one of BABYMETAL 's original members, Yuimetal , in October 2018.

Momoko 's addition to BABYMETAL was announced during the band's show at the Pia Arena MM in Okazaki, Japan.

Momoko was once a member of SAKURA GAKUIN and participated in South Korean reality TV show "Girls Planet 999" as a contestant. However, the singer left the series after the show's first elimination round.

In 2018, BABYMETAL announced the departure of Yuimetal , who was formerly one of the members of the Japanese group's core trio. She exited the band, explaining in a statement that she would go on to pursue a solo career as Mizuno Yu .

BABYMETAL was formed in 2010. Their mission was to unify the world through heavy metal by creating a fusion of heavy metal and the Japanese pop genre. Their music contains a stunning mix of electronic pop, a pinch of alternative and industrial rock, and is leveled up by fast-driven heavy metal. Their live shows are ground-breaking and epic visual as well as sound performances. BABYMETAL continued to travel the path of metal with the international release of their three albums, telling the story of the mighty Fox God and his brave metal warriors.

A book about the first ten years of BABYMETAL , "Bessatsu Kadokawa Souryoku Tokushuu" , was released in Japan in October 2020. It contains a long interview with Su-metal and Moametal as well as never-before-heard stories from band producer Kobametal from BABYMETAL 's decade-long history, photos taken from live shows, a discussion between Demon Kakka and Kobametal , and much more.

BABYMETAL 's latest concept album "The Other One" , was released in March 2023.

Last summer/fall, BABYMETAL embarked on a co-headline tour with DETHKLOK , the on-screen heavy metal band and stars of Adult Swim 's "Metalocalypse" .

Precious twins! Gabourey Sidibe and husband Brandon Frankel are parents to a baby boy and baby girl.

The couple, who got engaged in 2020 and married in 2021, welcomed son Cooper and daughter Maya in early April and made their debut Thursday as a family of four in a pictorial published by Shutterstock and the Shade Room .

Gabourey Sidibe on her dramatic weight loss: ‘I did it so I can walk around comfortably in heels’

The quartet appears in a series of portraits in a yard and a nursery, soaking up the newborn cuddles and making that chaotic twin-parent life look like a breeze. On Instagram stories , Frankel wrote Thursday that the babies’ arrival “wasn’t a secret. It was SACRED! Surprise!”

“I’ve taken over 2k+ baby pics and videos in the span of two months and I don’t feel a lick of bad about it,” he added .

Frankel and the Oscar-nominated “Precious” star, 41, revealed her twin pregnancy on Instagram in February. She told Shutterstock this week that her labor and delivery came as a surprise sooner than than their expected due date — something that’s not unusual with twins.

“We originally were going in for a routine appointment, only to be told the twins would be coming later that day and not when originally planned,” Sidibe said.

And it’s been a wild ride ever since.

Ashanti and Nelly confirm they’re engaged and having a baby, baby, baby, baby, baby

Ashanti and Nelly confirmed months of pregnancy rumors in an ad for their diagnostics company. The R&B star also separately confirmed that they’re engaged.

April 18, 2024

“They’re both extremely strong and hilarious, though they have yet to really interact with each other,” the “American Horror Story” and “Empire” actor said. The biggest surprise since her delivery? How “loud and chaotic babies are when they sleep.”

“ ‘Active sleep’ is pretty wild,” she said. “Also, it was a surprise to see how little they’ve acknowledged each other outside the womb when they seemed to interact so much inside.”

Getting the duo on the same schedule is “a must,” she added, noting that she’s most looking forward to getting her kiddos dressed up for sing-alongs and trips and “raising them to be good people.”

As for their names, Sidibe explained that her husband always wanted a son named Cooper “so we can call him ‘Coop,’ ” and Maya was named shortly before their babymoon trip to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. Each child also has a traditional West African middle name inspired by members of Sidibe’s family.

Actress Gabourey Sidibe engaged to Brandon Frankel: ‘Now I get to hold him forever’

Oscar-nominated ‘Precious’ actress Gabourey Sidibe showed off her new engagement ring on Tuesday and praised her fiancĂ©, Brandon Frankel.

Nov. 25, 2020

In February, Sidibe quipped that she and her husband “thought it was time to give our cats some responsibility so we’re giving them each a baby to take care of!”

“Double the babies, double the cats, double the fun!! Twin Delivery coming soon! Twinty Twinty Four!!,” she wrote at the time.

Separately, Frankel shared a snapshot of his wife and said at the time that he could not wait to be a twin dad.

“so excited the twins get to have a Mom that is so loving, thoughtful, funny, and beautiful. These two are already so incredibly loved- we can’t wait to meet you and give you the world. I love you three more than words will ever do justice,” the tour marketing agent wrote on Instagram .

Sorry, not twins: Justin Bieber’s mom clarifies, there’s only one baby on the way

Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber are not having twin babies, despite what the singer’s mom, Patti Mallette, led some fans to believe Thursday.

In a late April post — presumably shared after the babies arrived — Sidibe thanked the “village” of friends who rallied around her to throw her a baby shower.

“Late because I lack focus but weeks ago, my friends ... the perfect baby shower!” she wrote . “It was perfect because it was so intimate and private and I didn’t have to lift a finger because it was mostly a surprise! Brandon and I really appreciate the love for our little family, especially because we are so bad at throwing parties, and being celebrated, but we need to work on that because we have 2 lil lives that deserve celebration so we’ll get it together by their 1st birthday!
..Maybe their 2nd birthday. 5th birthday for sure! Either way, I know my village will jump me and whoop my ass if I try to slide by without giving these babies a proper party and I love that for them! And me! We are so lucky to have friends like them.”

Representatives for Sidibe and Frankel did not immediately respond Friday to The Times’ request for comment.
