These podcasts include ones we listen to and enjoy. We list them by category, including cruise industry podcasts from the business side of the microphone to podcasts from cruise enthusiasts and influencers , to cruise-line-specific podcasts .

How to Find the Best Cruise Podcasts for You , from Our List
It'd be crazy to subscribe to all of these – you'd have to make cruise podcast listening a full-time job if you were going to try to do that.
Instead, we suggest either finding a podcast that resonates with you based on the cruise line or topic. See if the host, or hosts, are to your liking after a listen.
There are some podcasts Dan listens to that I just cannot get into, and some I listen to he doesn't like. Then there are ones we both love that become the ones we listen to on road trips and at home together. It's the same with us for these cruise podcasts.
If we've linked the podcast up in Apple iTunes, Spotify, Sound Cloud, etc. it's likely it also exists on a number of other platforms. Simply search for the podcast in whatever your favorite software is for consuming the audio.

Official Cruises Industry Podcasts
Clia podcasts.
CLIA is the industry trade association whose letters stand for Cruise Lines International Association.
They have two cruise podcasts for listeners…
CLIA Cruise Podcast
These episodes are anywhere from 6 to 45 minutes to an hour. Generally speaking, each episode features an interview with someone new to cruising, including cruise line execs and travel advisors. They have episodes discussing industry news as well.
CLIA River View Podcast
This podcast is published a few times a quarter, but its episodes have solid interviews with river cruise industry pros, from managing directors of cruise lines to travel agents. We love the topic of river cruises, and we wish there were more podcasts like this available to listeners!
No Ordinary Adventure by Uncruise
Captain Dan from Uncruise, cruise line, is the leading voice behind this great podcast .
While he doesn't talk all cruise, all the time, it's hard to deny that the world of travel is interconnected no matter the “medium.” For instance, in one episode, he speaks with Joe Williams, an elder in a Tlingit tribe, about the history and culture of travel.
We first learned about the indigenous people in the Tlingit community brought through our experience with the port of Icy Strait Point in Alaska . Of course, this port is mostly reachable by cruise ships!
Captain Dan's podcast uncovers extraordinary adventures from his first-hand stories and connections. It's great for people that don't want cruise info in their cruise podcasts 100% of the time but still want that association.
The Maritime Podcast
This podcast came to our attention through Seatrade, which connects the cruise industry across the globe. Instead of focusing on cruising alone, they focus on maritime news.
This is an interesting podcast because cruises need to abide by maritime laws. Or shipping on the oceans. There's a lot of education in this relatively new but great podcast.

Cruise Enthusiasts and Influencers Cruise Podcasts
The joy of cruising podcast.
Hosted by author Paul C. Thornton, this podcast premiered in 2023 and already has dozens of podcast episodes published. He interviews the “who's who” of cruise media, whether DCL Duo Sam and Brian, or Dana Freeman , esteemed luxury cruise writer, or John Robert from In the Loop Travel .
Paul goes beyond media interviews, too, chatting with cruise musician Manny Kellough, acrobat and comedian Cameo Rascale, and Linda Johnson, the first lady of poker who has hosted over 200 poker-themed cruises.
Don't forget to check out his cruise books too, which is how he got his start in cruise media. He is the author of three cruise books: Award-winning The Joy of Cruising, Cruising Interrupted, and The Joy of Cruising Again. We are so proud to be featured in The Joy of Cruising Again !
Cruise Radio
We love the Cruise Radio podcasts brought to you by Doug Parker. He is a top-notch, professional podcaster.
He has two podcasts: one short format and one longer…
Cruise Radio News
This is our go-to source for daily updates on cruise industry news. Doug keeps it brief and to the important news you need to know now.
These episodes average anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour, pretty much discussing anything under the sun in terms of cruising, whether the ships themselves, up-to-date COVID cruise news and policies , private islands, and beyond! Sometimes we'll listen to a quick Cruise Radio News update, then keep listening to Doug with a longer episode of Cruise Radio .
Essential Cruise Tips
This cruise podcast is brought to you by cruise expert and author Gary Bembridge. We love his YouTube series sharing tips and advice for travelers. His voice and accent are so soothing too!
He's been on over 75 cruises, embarking on approximately 10 a year.
What we love about his cruise podcast is episodes are about 5 to 15 minutes each. So there's no excuse not to give them a listen.
The Cruise Dudes
The Cruise Dudes, Tommy Allison and Scott Andrews, keep podcasting manageable by producing one monthly episode. They have over 170 episodes under their belt, proving they're not a flash in the pan.
They share their favorite cruise tips, advice, and experiences in 1-hour episodes.
The Big Cruise Podcast
What we love about The Big Cruise Podcast is that host Baz, talks about unique information in the cruise world, including maritime historian Chris, concerning Australian and New Zealand markets.
They have occasional additional guests to share insight into the cruise industry, and they also discuss cruise news and answer listener questions. As cruising resumes, Baz plans to add cruise reviews to his podcast episodes.
Cruise Tips TV Unplugged
We, of course, love any couple who podcasts together and peppers their personalities into it. That's part of the appeal of Cruise Tips TV Unplugged for us.
Sheri and “Mr. Cruisetips TV” are the voices you'll regularly hear in episodes that discuss all things cruise casually. Episodes average 30 minutes to an hour.
Always Be Booked
This cruise podcast , hosted by Tony Casabona, shares cruise news, thoughts, and advice. We like that he pivoted during the pandemic to talk about some “staycation” conversations and stories at home, keeping it real in an uncertain time.
Shoutout to Tony's Long Island roots! I'm also from Long Island (Dan's from Buffalo), so I couldn't let that similarity pass without a mention! His bluntness and accent have us missing NY.
His 100+ episodes prove his devotion to podcasting. And his catchy, upbeat intro reminds us of another favorite (non-cruise) podcast Dan and I love, The Best One Yet . It makes us happy!
The Shipping Podcast
Host Lena Göthberg interviewed “interesting maritime professionals” on her podcast . This can be anyone from cruise pros to maritime industry innovators.
We love her interview from a few years ago with Captain Kate McCue, the first American female cruise captain who sails Celebrity Cruises ships.
Avid Travel
We identify with so many of the episodes of this podcast, by Britton Frost, including discussing River vs. Ocean Cruises , why cruising is for everyone, and talking about which cruise lines allow children.
The 100 episodes are 30 minutes or less.
La Lido Loca Cruise Podcast
Tony Barnette talks cruise questions, news, and musings on the podcast named after the blog of the same name. Episodes average 40 minutes to an hour. After a hiatus in 2022, the podcast picks back up in 2023 with great interviews with content creators and crew members discussing all things cruise.
Podcasts from Cruise Crew
Oooooh! Don't we all want to take a peek behind the curtain on cruise ships? If Bravo's successful series, Below Deck, has proven anything, it's we all want to know how the sausage is made.
Here are three great podcasts that take you behind the doors that say, “Crew Only.”
Keeping Afloat
This podcast is brought to you by Cruise Director Kabir . It's always fun to hear about cruise experiences from people who have worked and lived on cruise ships. But he's not just interviewing people – he's telling stories . This makes listening about 1,000 times more enjoyable.
Curious about dating life on cruise ships? We are. (Spicy!) Or interested to know what it was like to be on a ship during the height of COVID-19? Want to know how he won over a rival? He shares .
His super-engaging episodes are between 5 minutes to 45 minutes. He changes the names of cruise ships and particulars to protect the innocent.
Behind the Crew Door
It's fascinating to take a look behind the curtain (and “below the waterline,” where the crew lives, as Sarah says) with hosts Sarah and Tom.
Their cruise podcast, Behind the Crew Door, is where they dish on the details. Though they stopped recording in 2021, you can listen to the 52 episodes available, averaging 25 to 40 minutes each.
Cruise Life Experience
Mitch Merucci & Mike Szwajkowski are Cruise Directors who take a light-hearted look at the cruise industry.
They published nine episodes , which were mayybbeeee something to do during the pandemic if we had to guess. We hope they revitalize the podcast and update it in the future since the last one they published was in July 2020. Regardless, the available ones are worth a listen.
My Ship Story
A trio of hosts is at the helm of My Ship Story, which was started in August of 2020 and has over 145 episodes. Scott, Eric, and Brad help crew members (past and current) to tell their best stories about life at sea and their experiences working on cruise ships. And, of course, all three hosts are past cruise crew members with a passion for the cruise industry.
The podcast episodes vary in length. Which we like because there's no need to prolong a story that takes 30 minutes to tell or shorten a story that really needs an hour.
It's really interesting to listen to stories as recent as COVID times and what it's like to deal with COVID onboard ships , or how a man ends up working in a cruise gift shop to be with his girlfriend to someone who used to work in the casino on a cruise ship and how they really make their income.
This cruise podcast is seriously binge-worthy! Subscribe to My Ship Story and listen on some road trips or even on your way to a cruise terminal .
Cruise Line-Specific Cruise Podcasts
The royal caribbean podcast.
This weekly podcast discusses – you guessed it – the Royal Caribbean brand.
Royal Caribbean blogger , Matt, knows so much about the cruise industry on a scale beyond one line. And he has guests that share all sorts of experiences, whether about back-to-back cruises, celebrating milestones onboard Royal Caribbean, or even what it's like to win in the casino onboard.
He has hundreds of episodes to listen to. While some are time-sensitive to their publish date because of breaking news, most of them are interesting conversations about cruising, valid anytime, from discussing listener questions to Royal Suite Class conversations (Royal Caribbean's ship-within-a-ship cruise category), to ship-specific reviews.
Browse over 500 episodes , pick one that interests you, and give it a listen!
Disney Cruise Line Cruise Podcasts
It's not a surprise that Disney Cruise podcasts are out there.
Enthusiasts who specifically want to talk about the brand, just like lovers of Disneyland and Walt Disney World do, share their love for DCL in audio format.
Here are four to enjoy…
DCL Duo Podcast
As the name indicates, this pair of podcasters, Sam and Brian, discuss their love of Disney Cruise Line on DCL Duo.
But as most DCL fans know, love for the Disney brand doesn't stop on the water. They go beyond the DCL fleet of ships to include Adventures by Disney , and share their love of the parks and Disney travel overall. We appreciate them weighing in on the Best Disney Cruise Line Ship for us at Sometimes Sailing, too!
Listen to Episode 109 to hear us chat about our first experience on a Disney Cruise together and my past experience working at Imagineering. Mikkel is also on Episode 282 discussing her experience photographing a Disney Wish wedding along with the bride and groom .
You'll quickly get hooked on this podcast and expand your listening to their episodes that go beyond DCL into other cruise line experiences. And with more than 300 episodes, there are plenty of topics to choose from!
The DCL Dude Podcast
Wes Dauer focuses on DCL pretty exclusively, deep-diving into brand-specific ports of call, and ships, and even interviews performers and crew who work onboard. On average, the episodes are between 30 minutes to an hour, with a few outliers.
DCL Podcast
Steve Kriese discusses Disney Cruise Line information on his podcast but expands into the parks, collaborations with other Disney podcasters, and touches on other cruise lines. Episodes are typically 45 minutes to an hour.
Disney Cruise Line Blog Podcast
This podcast has episodes ranging from about 20 minutes to an hour. Scott Sanders has published 60 episodes , beginning in 2016. DCL news is kept current in his blog content as well.
Cruise Podcasts that aren't Producing New Content
The podcasts below have some good content, which is why we mention them. However, it's important to acknowledge that they don't seem to produce new content. Because of this, we've noted when their last episode on record is, for each one.
Who knows – maybe one day, these podcasters will dust off their microphones and get back to it! And if not, there is still some solid content there.
Cruise Critic Podcast
This is one of the most popular cruising websites, so isn't a surprise they had a podcast. I supposed what's surprising is it never got out of the beta stage, and they only have 6 episodes published on Apple Podcasts.
Cruise Town
This podcast about Juneau, Alaska, highlights what it's like to live in a cruise port town, including information about Juneau. Its last episode is from July 2021, after the resumption of cruising post-pandemic.
CruiseHabit Podcast
The last time Ric & Billy discussed their cruise habit was pre-pandemic. They have reviewed specific ships, talked to cruise line executives, and discussed the rise of the mega-ship within less than 20 episodes, ending with a Norwegian Sky recap in July 2019.
River Cruise Radio
We were sad to find this podcast and quickly learn its episodes stopped in June 2018.
Sherry Laskin hosted the podcast. She shared information about all things river cruise , including info about USA River Cruises , her first experience on a river cruise, to Christmas Market river cruises , and beyond.
We're biased in favor of river cruises, which is not a secret. So we're both bummed about this yet glad it exists. You can still listen to the 64 episodes .
You may know Sherry as the Cruise Maven, a cruise and travel writer who doesn't fly.
Cruise Maven Travel Podcast
Sherry Laskin (mentioned above) had a cruise podcast with four episodes back in 2015. They ranged in length from 15 minutes to 26 minutes.
Popular Cruising {Video} Podcast
163 episodes was a good run for this {video} cruise podcast by Jason Leppert. The unique twist on this is its video content, which was produced weekly until December 2016.
You can't watch the videos, say, if you're driving , trying to listen only. It's just not the same because the videos are high quality and so interesting, and you'll want to watch them.
You can tune into content that gives you tours of specific ships, ones that peel back the curtain of ship operations with behind-the-scenes information or watch simple one-minute clips showcasing cruise cabins.
Most of the videos are around one to two minutes; longer videos are 15 minutes.
Fintastic Cruising
Matt (formerly of The Cruise Geeks) and his partner, Kimbra, started this podcast in August of 2019. They talk about anything cruising, from creatures you'll see while sailing (dolphins and turtles included), to ports of call, themed cruises, and beyond.
Though they stopped recording in September 2022, there are 151 available episodes to enjoy.
The Cruise Geeks
The Cruise Geeks, Tony, and Matt, had long format episodes averaging about 80 to 90 minutes each. They shared everything cruise, including ship and port info, from February 2018 to May 2019. Matt also hosted Fintastic Cruise podcast with his partner, Kimbra, mentioned above.

Divers find 5 bodies during search of yacht wreckage off Sicily
The Associated Press
Italian firefighter divers bring ashore in a green bag the body of one of the victims of the U.K.-flag vessel Bayesian on Wednesday. The luxury sail yacht was hit by a violent sudden storm and sunk early Monday, while at anchor off the Sicilian village of Porticello near Palermo, in southern Italy. PORTICELLO, Sicily — Divers searching the wreck of a superyacht that sank off Sicily found the bodies of five passengers Wednesday and searched for one more as questions intensified about why the vessel sank so quickly when a nearby sailboat remained largely unscathed.
Rescue crews unloaded three body bags from rescue vessels that pulled into port at Porticello. Salvatore Cocina, head of the Sicily civil protection agency, said two other bodies had also been found in the wreckage for a total of five.
Who are Mike Lynch and the other people missing after a yacht sank in Sicily?
The discovery made clear the operation to search the hull on the seabed 50 meters (164 feet) underwater had quickly turned into a recovery one, not a rescue, given the amount of time that had passed and that no signs of life had emerged over three days of searching, maritime experts said.
The Bayesian, a 56-meter (184-foot) British-flagged yacht, went down in a storm early Monday as it was moored about a kilometer (a half-mile) offshore. Civil protection officials said they believed the ship was struck by a tornado over the water, known as a waterspout, and sank quickly.
Fifteen people escaped in a lifeboat and were rescued by a nearby sailboat. One body was recovered Monday — that of the ship’s chef, Recaldo Thomas, of Antigua.
Thomas was born in Canada, according to his cousin David Isaac, but would visit his parents’ homeland of Antigua as a child, moving permanently to the tiny eastern Caribbean island in his early 20s. Italian officials previously listed Antigua as the nationality of someone on board.
The fate of six missing passengers had driven the search effort, including British tech magnate Mike Lynch , his 18-year-old daughter and associates who had successfully defended him in a recent U.S. federal fraud trial.
Lynch’s spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment Wednesday.

What caused the ship to sink so quickly?
Meanwhile, investigators from the Termini Imerese Public Prosecutor’s Office were acquiring evidence for their criminal investigation, which they opened immediately after the tragedy even though no formal suspects have been publicly identified.
Questions abound about what caused the superyacht, built in 2008 by Italian shipyard Perini Navi, to sink so quickly, when the nearby Sir Robert Baden Powell sailboat was largely spared and managed to rescue the survivors.
Was it merely the case of a freak waterspout that knocked the ship to its side and allowed water to pour in through open hatches? What was the position of the keel, which on a large sailboat such as the Bayesian might have been retractable, to allow it to enter shallower ports?
“There’s a lot of uncertainty as to whether it had a lifting keel and whether it might have been up,” said Jean-Baptiste Souppez, a fellow of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects and the editor of the Journal of Sailing Technology. “But if it had, then that would reduce the amount of stability that the vessel had, and therefore made it easier for it to roll over on its side,” he said in an interview.
The captain of the Sir Robert Baden Powell sailboat, which came to the Bayesian’s rescue, said his craft had sustained minimal damage — the frame of a sun awning broke — even with winds that he estimated reached 12 on the Beaufort wind scale, which is the highest, hurricane-strength force on the scale.
He said he had remained anchored with his engines running to try to maintain the ship’s position as the storm, which was forecast, rolled in.
Search teams scour waters along Italy’s southwestern shore, where a luxury yacht sank
“Another possibility is to heave anchor before the storm and to run downwind at open sea,” Karsten Bornersaid in a text message. But he said that might not have been a viable option for the Bayesian, given its trademark 75-meter (246-foot) tall mast.
“If there was a stability problem, caused by the extremely tall mast, it would not have been better at open sea,” he said.
Yachts like the Bayesian are required to have watertight, sub-compartments that are specifically designed to prevent a rapid, catastrophic sinking even when some parts fill with water.
“So for the vessel to sink, especially this fast, you are really looking at taking water on board very quickly, but also in a number of locations along the length of the vessel, which again indicates that it might have been rolled over on its side,” Souppez said.
Italian coast guard and fire rescue divers continued the underwater search in dangerous and time-consuming conditions. Because of the wreck’s depth, which requires special precautions, divers working in tag teams could only spend about 12 minutes at a time searching.
The limited dive time is designed in part to avoid decompression sickness, also known as the “bends,” which can occur when divers stay underwater for long periods and ascend too quickly, allowing nitrogen gas dissolved in the blood to form bubbles.
“The longer you stay, the slower your ascent has to be,” said Simon Rogerson, the editor of SCUBA magazine. He said the tight turnaround time suggests the operation's managers are trying to limit the risks and recovery time after each dive.
“It sounds like they’re operating essentially on no decompression or very tight decompression, or they’re being extremely conservative,” he said.
Additionally, the divers were working in extremely tight spaces, with debris floating around them, limited visibility and oxygen tanks on their backs.
Search resumes for British tech magnate and 5 others after yacht sinks off Sicily
“We are trying to advance in tight spaces, but any single thing slows us down,” said Luca Cari, spokesman for the fire rescue service. “An electric panel could set us back for five hours. These aren’t normal conditions. We’re at the limit of possibility.”
“It’s not a question of entering the cabin to inspect it,” he added. “They’ve arrived at the level of the cabins, but it’s not like you can open the door,” he said.
The Italian coast guard said they had reinforced their dive teams and were using underwater remote-controlled robots, which can stay out for six or seven hours at a time and record the surroundings.
The lack of any signs of life and the recovery of bodies led outside experts to conclude that the search was now a recovery effort and investigation to determine how the tragedy had unfolded.
“I think the fact that there’s been quite a lot of diving presence around the vessel and that they haven’t been able to pick up any signs of life inside the vessel, is, is unfortunately, not a particularly good sign,” said Souppez.
Superyacht sinks latest: Search resumes for Mike Lynch's daughter - as investigators 'gather evidence for possible criminal probe'

The Italian coastguard hopes there will be progress today in the search for Hannah Lynch.
Asked if any developments were expected, spokesman Vincenzo Zagarola replied: "We trust."
Ms Lynch is the last tourist unaccounted for after six bodies were recovered since the sinking of the Bayesian on Monday
A captain and maritime chartered surveyor has identified four potential issues that may have contributed to the yacht disaster
Captain Ed Geary said retractable keels - a stabilising fin at the base of a boat - have "historic problems of failure".
"Whether the keel was up or down would have a serious impact on the stability of the vessel."
Second, he took aim at the UK's Maritime and Coastguard Agency rules.
"The MCA delegates the inspection and certification and survey of these commercial vessels - up to 12 passengers - to profit-motivated, surveying societies, certification societies.
"Unfortunately, the quality is not as high as it should be," he claimed, adding some of their personnel were "untrained, unqualified and inexperienced".
Captain Geary also took issue with comments made by Giovanni Costantino, CEO of The Italian Sea Group,
"The builder of boat initially blurted out that the boat was unsinkable, which is kind of hard to fathom considering the boat is sitting at 50m below the surface of water off the Italian coast."
But the captain agreed with Mr Costantino that the crew should have been alert, adding passengers should not have been allowed below deck to their cabins with an impending storm coming.
Sky News has contacted the MCA for comment.
Investigators from the local public prosecutor's office are gathering evidence for a potential criminal investigation into the sinking of the yacht, says news correspondent Ashna Hurynag.
British investigators have said its too early to comment on their probe.
A "blame game" has already started, with the chief executive of the company that owns the firm that built the vessel "laying some of the blame at the feet of the crew and the captain on board", she adds.
In an exclusive interview with Sky News, Giovanni Costantino, CEO of The Italian Sea Group, talked about human error and accused the crew of not being in a state of alert.
Meanwhile, the search continues for Hannah Lynch.
"Divers are starting to get ready, and those search and rescue teams have been on site for the past half an hour or so," says Hurynag.
"Tributes have been pouring in for the six people who are confirmed to have died in this tragic incident."
The search continues for 18-year-old Hannah Lynch, the final person missing from the wreck of the Bayesian.
The body of her father, technology tycoon Mike Lynch, was recovered yesterday, while his wife Angela Bacares survived.
Divers paused their efforts at 8pm off the coast of Sicily last night and were expected to resume at 6.30am (5.30am UK time) this morning.
A decision on whether to raise the sunken yacht from the seabed is "not on the agenda", but will be in the future, said a spokesman from the Italian Coastguard, Vincenzo Zagarola.
The wreckage of the Bayesian is resting on the seabed at a depth of 164ft.
It had been moored around half a mile off the coast of Porticello when it sank at about 5am local time on Monday.
Mr Zagarola said the Italian coastguard's working theory is still that the missing woman is inside the boat.
Welcome back to our live coverage of the yacht disaster, as the search continues for the last missing tourist.
Hannah Lynch, 18, the daughter of British tycoon Mike Lynch, is still unaccounted for, while her father has been confirmed dead.
He was among five bodies recovered and identified yesterday.
Jonathan Bloomer and his wife Judith Bloomer, as well as lawyer Christopher Morvillo and his wife Neda Morvillo were also named as among the deceased.
Meanwhile, tributes have flooded in for the deceased, including from the families of the Bloomers and the Morvillos.
A senior oceanography lecturer told Sky News it's "unlikely" Ms Lynch was thrown from the Bayesian and more probable that she will be found somewhere inside the vessel.
An Italian fire service spokesman said emergency workers "would need a crystal ball" to know if and when another body will be discovered.
Meanwhile, an investigation is under way into the circumstances behind the sinking.
The chief executive of a firm which makes and sells yachts like the Bayesian said the sinking may have been due to a series of human mistakes and questioned why its crew were not in a "state of alert" when the storm hit.
We're pausing our coverage for tonight but here is a recap of what we know:
- The five bodies discovered in the wreckage of the sunken Bayesian have been identified;
- British tycoon Mike Lynch, Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judith Bloomer, lawyer Christopher Morvillo and his wife Neda Morvillo were all named;
- Mr Lynch's 18-year-old daughter Hannah Lynch remains unaccounted for;
- A senior oceanography lecturer has told Sky News it's "unlikely" she was thrown from the Bayesian and more probable that she will be found somewhere inside the vessel;
- Tributes have flooded in for the deceased, including from the families of the Bloomers and the Morvillos;
- The chief executive of a firm which makes and sells yachts like the Bayesian believes the sinking may have been due to a series of human mistakes and questioned why its crew were not in a "state of alert" when a storm hit;
- An Italian fire service spokesman says emergency workers "would need a crystal ball" to know if and when another body will be discovered;
- Mr Lynch had reportedly considered selling the Bayesian earlier this year but changed his mind when acquitted in a major fraud trial in the US.
As tributes are made to those who lost their lives aboard the Bayesian, investigations are getting under way into what caused the disaster.
A criminal investigation was opened in Italy after the tragedy, despite the fact no suspects have been identified publicly.
The UK's Marine Accident Investigation Branch is also investigating, though it is purely fact-finding.
Watch Sky News correspondent Laura Bundock explain the situation here...
Mike Lynch was one of the "most inspirational citizens" of Suffolk, says the Countess of Euston.
Clare, Countess of Euston, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk, says Mr Lynch was "quite simply a genius" who was "exemplary" in his position as a deputy lieutenant of Suffolk.
She said: "I join with so many others in mourning the shocking loss of Mike Lynch and all those who tragically lost their lives in Sicily this week. Mike was one of Suffolk's most inspirational citizens.
"He was quite simply a genius, a global leader in his field but so much more than that.
"A kind and compassionate man who was always ready to help, hugely generous, the best of friends, but it will be his warm and wonderful smile that will be impossible for me to forget.
"Mike was an exemplary Deputy Lieutenant of Suffolk serving both our late Queen Elizabeth II and our present King Charles III.
"Our heartfelt sympathy and condolences are with Angela and his whole family at this terrible time."
The search for the final person unaccounted for from the Bayesian's sinking entered its fourth day today.
Divers were quickly able to retrieve one body from the shipwreck that they had already discovered yesterday, but searches remain ongoing for the final passenger, believed to be 18-year-old Hannah Lynch.
Below, we have a look at some images from the operation today as it unfolded:
Clifford Chance has paid tribute to its partner, Chris Morvillo, after he was confirmed to have died when the Bayesian yacht capsized and sank.
Mr Morvillo spent almost a decade helping to lead the defence of Mike Lynch after the British tech tycoon was accused of falsely inflating revenues of his software company ahead of its multi-billion sale to Hewlett-Packard in 2011.
The 59-year-old was on the yacht with his wife, Neda, who is also among those to have died.
A spokesperson from Clifford Chance said: "We are heartbroken at the tragic passing of our partner, Christopher Morvillo and his wife, Neda.
"We are deeply saddened and still coming to terms with this terrible loss. Our utmost priority is to continue to support Chris's family at this very distressing time. Our thoughts extend to the families and loved ones of all those affected.
"We wish to express our deepest condolences and our love and support to Chris’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time. We also want to thank the Italian authorities and rescue teams for everything they have done.
"We have no further comment at this time. We, and the families, ask that their request for privacy is honoured during this period."

Cruise will dispatch some of its trouble-ridden robotaxis to join Uber's ride-hailing service

Cruise's trouble-ridden robotaxis are joining Uber's ride-hailing service next year as part of a multiyear partnership bringing together two companies that once appeared poised to compete for passengers.
The alliance is the latest change in direction for Cruise since its California license to provide driverless rides was suspended in October 2023 after one of its robotaxis dragged a jaywalking pedestrian who had been struck by a human-driven vehicle across a darkened San Francisco street.
The incident spurred regulatory inquiries into Cruise and prompted its corporate parent, automaker General Motors, to tamp down its once audacious ambitions in autonomous driving.
GM had envisioned Cruise generating $1 billion in annual revenue by 2025 as its robotaxis steadily expanded beyond San Francisco and into other cities to offer a driverless alternative to the ride-hailing services operated by Uber and Lyft.
But now GM and Cruise are looking to make money by mixing the robotaxis with Uber's human-driven cars, giving passengers the option to ask for an autonomous ride if they want. The financial details of the partnership weren't disclosed, nor were the cities in which Uber intends to offer Cruise's robotaxis next year.
Unless something changes, California won't be in the mix of options because Cruise's license remains suspended in the state.
Meanwhile, a robotaxi fleet operated by Google spinoff Waymo is expanding beyond San Francisco into cities around the Bay Area and Southern California. Earlier this week, Waymo announced its robotaxis are completing more than 100,000 paid rides per week — a number that includes its operations in Phoenix, where it has been operating for several years.
Cruise is currently operating Chevy Bolts autonomously in Phoenix and Dallas, with humans sitting behind the wheel ready to take over if something goes wrong. The Uber deal underscores Cruise's determination to get back to the point where its robotaxis navigate the roads entirely on their own.
"Cruise is on a mission to leverage driverless technology to create safer streets and redefine urban life," said Cruise CEO Marc Whitten, who is filling a void created after Cruise founder Kyle Vogt stepped down in the fallout from the California license suspension.
GM also laid off hundreds of employees in the California blowback as part of its financial belt-tightening after sustaining $5.8 billion in losses on the robotaxi service from 2021 to 2023. The Detroit automaker sustained another operating loss of $900 million on Cruise during the first half of this year, but that was down from nearly $1.2 billion at the same point last year.
Despite Cruise's recent woes, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi expressed confidence the ride-hailing service could get the robotaxis back on the right track.
“We believe Uber can play an important role in helping to safely and reliably introduce autonomous technology to consumers and cities around the world,” Khosrowshahi said.

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Omaha Storm Chasers won their third straight game with a 5-2 victory against the Buffalo Bisons on Wednesday at Sahlen Field.
Omaha got on the board in the first inning for a second straight game and once again led for the entire contest. Ryan Fitzgerald drew a leadoff walk, then Drew Waters followed with a double to put two runners in scoring position. Nick Loftin drew the second walk of the inning and loaded the bases, for Brian O’Keefe to grounde out into a double play but plate Fitzgerald for a one-run lead. The next at-bat, Tyler Gentry crushed his 13th homer of the season, a 2-run shot to left field as the Chasers went ahead 3-0.
Buffalo answered in the bottom of the fourth inning with a two-run homer and cut the Omaha lead to 3-2 off Omaha starting pitcher Daniel Lynch IV .
Those two runs were the only Lynch IV allowed in his team-leading 11 th quality start of the season, as he kept the Bisons to two runs on three hits over six innings, tying a season high with eight strikeouts, while pitching a trio of 1-2-3 innings.
The Chasers threatened in the top of the third and fourth inning with bases loaded twice but stranded six runners on base off of four hits and a walk with no runs on the board.
After going scoreless for three innings, Omaha plated two more runs in the fifth as back—to-back hits by Gentry and CJ Alexander and a drawn walk by Devin Mann loaded the bases for a third straight inning. Cam Devanney blooped a single into center field and scored Gentry, then Fitzgerald followed with a fielder’s choice that scored Alexander and extended the lead to 5-2 at the end of the fifth.
Andrew Hoffmann, Jonathan Bowlan and Carlos Hernández each tossed a scoreless inning of relief behind Lynch IV to finish off the last three innings of the game. The trio combined for one hit and one walk allowed and Hernández earned his fifth save of the season, securing a 5-2 win for Omaha, the team’s third straight and 8 th in the last 10 games.
The Storm Chasers continue this week’s series against the Bisons at Sahlen Field on Thursday, August 22 as first pitch is slated for 5:35 p.m. CT and right-handed pitcher Dinelson Lamet will take the mound for Omaha.
