Never heard of Knocked Loose before I attended a Beartooth concert in Seattle. Absolutely incredible set. I was there for the headliner Beartooth and the first opener (Sylar) but these guys were hands down the most memorable act of the night. They gave it everything, and their energy absolutely took the crowd by storm. It was a performance I'm really happy to have been a part of. They made me a fan that night and I've been listening to them ever since. Hope to see them again soon, when I actually know all their songs going into it!

Badass!!!! This show kicked our ass so good live 2nd time we saw these guys and they were even better this time around they were HEADLINERS got a full show of kick ass all the bands were aggressive as hell and amazing live so great from start to end

It never ceases to amaze me how great knocked loose are performing live, especially with Kublai Khan. 2 particularly hardcore bands make for a fantastic show! They're a must if they're in your area.

It was like Fight Club. Complete hardcore insanity. I survived! Oldham County in the house. Cannot wait to catch varials at The Glass House in May. For the women in hardcore... ARF ARF

MOTIONLESS IN WHITE, KNOCKED LOOSE announce fall U.S. tour

Last year,  Motionless in White  tapped  Knocked Loose  screamer Bryan Garris for a heavy-as-fuck song called "Slaughterhouse" on their album, Scoring the End of the World . Now, they're taking that collaborative energy a step further. 

Later this fall, the Pennsylvania gothic metalcore titans will be touring the U.S. with the Louisville metallic hardcore crushers, along with djent mainstays  After the Burial  and Australian metalcore unit Alpha Wolf. 

The journey begins in MIW's hometown of Scranton, PA, September 16th and will travel all throughout the U.S. for over a month before winding up in Boston on October 29th. General tickets go on sale this Friday April 28th at 10 a.m. local time, and you can get yours here .

Knocked Loose have announced that their first tour back from the COVID-19 pandemic will commence in September. Gatecreeper , Magnitude and Kharma have been booked as support on that run, tickets for which will go on sale this coming Friday at 10:00am local time.

Knocked Loose Announce Spring 2022 US Tour

Movements, Kublai Khan, and Koyo will provide support

Knocked Loose have announced a Spring 2022 US tour with support from Movements, Kublai Khan, and Koyo.

The spring headlining dates add to an extensive 2022 itinerary for Knocked Loose. The spring US leg starts on March 31st in Nashville, Tennessee, and runs though May 8th in Huntington, New York. The tour will be bookended by an early 2022 European tour and European festival dates over the summer. Get tickets via Ticketmaster .

The sheer number of shows are no problem for Knocked Loose. As frontman Bryan Garris said via the press announcement: “We’ve kind of been consistently on the road since 2014.”

The rising hardcore act recently released a new surprise EP, A Tear in the Fabric of Life — the first new music we’ve heard from the band since 2019.

The EP sees Knocked Loose expanding on their invigorating brand of metallic hardcore across six new tracks. According to Garris, there’s more of a death-metal influence this time around, sure to keep mosh pits churning on the upcoming tour.

“This is the first time we really dove in and tried to create something sonically that evokes a different range of emotions,” Garris said previously, “and overall something that introduces tension and anxiety with a massive pay off.”

Last June, KNOCKED LOOSE released new singles "Deep In The Willow" and "Everything Is Quiet Now" . At the time, KNOCKED LOOSE frontman Bryan Garris stated about the tracks: " 'Deep In The Willow' and 'Everything Is Quiet Now' are a reminder that we are heavy, intense, and extreme. Some elements come and go, but those will never change. After 'A Tear In The Fabric Of Life' , we were inspired to see how much art we could incorporate moving forward — which led us to a style of video we've never attempted or approached. Taking myself specifically far outside of my comfort zone and pushing the boundaries on how I've been seen in the past was a creative experience I will never forget. This video wouldn't be what it is without the collaboration with Eric Richter , someone we've admired for a while. And the songs wouldn't be what they are without [producer] Drew Fulk , a new friend and creative ear in the entire process."

"Deep In The Willow" and "Everything Is Quiet Now" were the first new KNOCKED LOOSE singles since the release of the band's 2021 EP and head-turning short film "A Tear In The Fabric Of Life" . Knocked Loose Announce 2022 U.S. Tour With Movements, Kublai Khan + Koyo

Knocked Loose will have a massive year on the road in 2022. The band just announced a new batch of U.S. tour dates this spring on top of their European dates this winter and summer.

The hardcore torchbearers will be celebrating the release of their A Tear in the Fabric of Life EP, which can be streamed right now and will come out in stores Dec. 17 via Pure Noise. The band even made a short animated film for the EP in conjunction with Magnus Jonsson.

A Tear in the Fabric of Life expands on the themes within Knocked Loose’s smash 2019 full-length A Different Shade of Blue . The band took some rare time off from the road when COVID-19 struck, sequestering themselves in Kentucky, then Tennessee, with a new and conceptual EP in the can.

In addition to recently announced dates across the globe, the Here Comes The Pain Tour , produced by Live Nation, includes arena plays nationwide this Summer. Highlights include New York City’s Madison Square Garden, Los Angeles’ Intuit Dome, Austin’s Moody Center and more with direct support from Kentucky’s young and vibrant hardcore/metal forerunners, Knocked Loose . Orbit Culture and Vended are confirmed as support on select dates.

There actually was a time when Slipknot and the maggots (the loving name for their fans) did not completely rule the world. 25 years ago, the Des Moines band were just some guys trying to get their new LP noticed– a record that would start their metamorphosis into the most crucial band of the 21st century. That record would change rock as we know it, measuring success with a yardstick bigger than music, one for the influence on youth culture writ large. But these faceless demons from middle America would not only capture the hearts of the youth, they would help guide their tastes, and challenge them and their kin towards a new future.

Released on June 29th, 1999, Slipknot’s self-titled debut was a smash hit with critics and an instant classic with fans. It was, and is, a molotov cocktail signaling a revolution– embracing a creative direction that eschewed metal traditions in favor of fresh ideas. While the jaw-clenching riffs coupled with Ross Robinson’s venomous production were crucial to the album’s success, it was the care and attention to detail in the songcraft that moved the needle from “great” to “benchmark.” Not too shabby for a bunch of guys that only hoped to be heard.

“We loved what we did with the first record but we didn’t even know if there was gonna be anything after that,” recalls guitarist Jim Root . “We just wanted people to hear it. Selling out of records and shows, having successful tours– those are goals for any band. But the dream scenario in some ways, came true for us.”

In the years following, Slipknot’s popularity nipped at the heels of elder statesmen and even the band’s heroes, eventually navigating this brave new world with unending drive, fresh ideas and a bloodlust for odometer clicks. Tens of billions of streams and tens of millions of subscribers and followers later, the accolades tell the story: 64 award nominations and 27 wins including a Grammy for “Before I Forget“ from Vol. 3 .  A seemingly endless number of tour dates. Headlining slots at some of the biggest festivals in the world such as Download, Rock In Rio, Hellfest, Wacken and many more. Not to mention RIAA certifications by the truckload– 14 platinum certifications and 40 gold across more than 30 million in record and video sales.

In addition, Slipknot positioned themselves for success with the creation of their own festival Knotfest in 2012, a traveling, multi-stage and experiential event that has appeared 28 times across several countries and locations. The festival has since spun off into a successful entertainment media hub – Knotfest.com , which became a juggernaut of its own making, giving a platform to young freethinkers and like-minded artists.

All of Slipknot’s achievements have helped them claim their rightful seat as pioneers and thought leaders, establishing them as a generational talent– loved by parents AND their children alike. And of course with all those incredible live performances, all that influence, and all that history of playing all those incredible SONGS, Slipknot has only attracted the most dedicated of fans, reaching all the way back to that fateful self-titled effort.

Slipknot is approaching this 25th anniversary by making the conscious decision to connect to fans as closely as possible, in a similar way to how they encountered Slipknot all those years ago. “Every time I’ve walked on stage, it’s never been about how many people have been there because my culture, the maggots, always show up,” says founding member Shawn “clown” Crahan with a smile.

  “But as we’ve grown as a band, we have had fewer and fewer of those intimate, personal moments, trading them for massive ones. So we’re gonna make it more personal on the anniversary, but how remains to be seen. Just get ready to have your face kicked in. Because we just do what we do, spread that maggot culture – that disease. And you’ve been infected.”

Why Knocked Loose's You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To Is The Rock Record You Need To Hear This Summer

Every few years, a hardcore band breaks out of the sweaty church basement and surges toward the center of the cultural conversation—or as close to the center as volatile and chaotic art can get. Bad Brains managed it in the early ’80s; their D.C. compatriots Fugazi followed suit later that decade. And more recently, Turnstile’s 2021 smash Glow On helped them vault from DIY venues to headlining festivals and touring arenas with Blink-182 .

Now, that crossover success has arrived for somewhat unlikelier beneficiaries: the Kentucky metalcore quintet Knocked Loose, whose exhilarating third LP You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To dropped earlier this month to universal acclaim and an extremely respectable debut at No. 23 on the Billboard 200. Over the past decade, Knocked Loose has built a rabid following on the strength of their mercilessly jagged riffs and frontman Bryan Garris’s piercing, introspective wails. But I realized the band had made a serious leap forward when a handful of normie, non-hardcore-kid pals began DMing me wild clips from their live shows and asking, “Who are these guys?” (If you ever get the chance to see Knocked Loose on tour —they’re playing NYC tonight —I highly suggest you seize it.)

What’s especially encouraging about Knocked Loose’s newfound spotlight is that they didn’t need to water themselves down or make the music more approachable to attain it. If anything, You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To is the band’s heaviest record to date, brimming with brutal breakdowns and anxiety-ridden screams. It is Knocked Loose at their most punishing and potent—which makes it, as far as I’m concerned, the ideal album to crank while driving maybe a little too fast with the windows down during this increasingly unsettling year.
