I've Made These Changes to My iPhone Settings to Make My Life Easier

What i'm hoping to see in the ipad mini 7, considering a new tablet don't overlook the ipad mini, quick links, add a website to your iphone home screen, add a website to your ipad home screen, more about the web shortcut icon.

If you find yourself frequently visiting a website or using a web app on your iPhone or iPad, it's easy to add a shortcut icon directly on your Home screen using Safari that you can quickly tap to launch the site. Here's how.

First, open Safari and navigate to the website you'd like to put on your iPhone's Home screen. Once there, make sure you can see the navigation toolbar by tapping once near the bottom of the screen, which will make it appear.

On the navigation toolbar at the bottom of the screen, tap the Share icon (the rectangle with an upward arrow).

A Share menu will appear at the bottom of the screen. Use your finger to pull it up and swipe through the list. Tap "Add to Home Screen."

A menu titled "Add to Home Screen" will appear. Use this menu to name your new Home screen web icon anything you'd like using the onscreen keyboard. Once you're done, tap "Add" in the top-right corner of the box.

The icon for the website will appear on your Home screen . Any time you'd like to use it, just tap on the shortcut as if it were a regular app. Safari will automatically open and load the website.

On your iPad, open Safari and navigate to the website you'd like to put on your Home screen. Once there, make sure you can see the navigation toolbar by tapping once near the top of the screen, which will make it appear.

On the navigation toolbar at the top of the screen, locate the Share icon (the rectangle with an upward arrow). Tap on it.

A Share menu will appear on the right side of the screen. Tap "Add to Home Screen."

Next, a pop-up titled "Add to Home Screen" will appear where you can name your new Home screen icon anything you'd like. Once you're done, tap "Add" in the top-right corner of the box.

The icon for the website will appear on your iPad's Home screen. Any time you'd like to visit the site, just tap on the shortcut. Safari will automatically open and load it up.

The website icon we created with Safari looks and behaves like a regular app icon on the iPhone's or iPad's Home screen. You can rearrange it along with other apps, add it to a folder, or even drag it to the Dock.

You might notice that some websites have Home screen icons that seem perfectly tailored to the iPhone or iPad interface. That's because these sites specifically created an image for this purpose and defined it in their website's code . Otherwise, your iPhone or iPad will generate a tiny thumbnail of the website to use as its icon.

So far, only Safari can create shortcut icons like this. And since Apple doesn't let you change your default browser, the sites always load in Safari, as well. Still, it's a handy way to speed up your iPhone or iPad experience.

How to save a Safari webpage or text to the Notes app on Mac, iPhone, and iPad

Learn how to save Safari webpages or text to your Mac, iPhone, and iPad Notes app for quick reference and organization.

Arrow pointing from Safari to Notes app icon

There’s no easier way to capture a note from Safari than with the Notes app. Whether you’re doing research for school or work, planning a trip or event, or just want to make a note of an article, Apple’s integration makes it simple.

Save a Safari web page link to Notes

You can either bookmark a web page right in your browser or save it to Notes if that’s your jam.

You have two quick ways to add a Safari page to Notes on your Mac. So use whichever is most comfortable for you. And if you don’t see the Notes option, you may have to update your Mac Share Menu .

  • Click File from the top menu bar and click Share > Notes .
  • Click the Share button from the top right of the Safari toolbar and pick Notes .

You’ll see the link icon displayed in the note automatically. But you can type in more text above or below it if you like.

Next to Choose Note , you can select a spot for your note or add to an existing one.

  • Below New Note , at the top of the pop-out, you can select one of your Folders . And from there, you can pick a subfolder if you like. Conveniently, each pop-out has the New Note option right at the top.
  • Beneath Folders, you’ll see your Pinned notes indicated by the pin icon. So, adding to one of those is a breeze.
  • Finally, you have the rest of your notes. You can add to a Shared note , and those have a contact symbol next to them.
  • The only limitation you have is if you want to add to an existing Locked note. If you try, you’ll see that the note is grayed out and thus un-clickable.

Choose a Notes Location in Safari on Mac

But for the most part, no matter where you want the note, a folder or subfolder, new or added to an existing one, you’re covered.

If you have a lot of folders, subfolders, and notes, you can use the handy Search box to find one quickly.

Search for a Notes Location in Safari on Mac

On iPhone and iPad

Sharing a page from Safari to Notes on your iPhone and iPad can be done as quickly and easily as on Mac. Tap the Share button and choose Notes in the second row of your Share Sheet. If you don’t see Notes, select More to add it, or check out our how-to for updating your Share Sheet on iOS .

You can do a quick Save to send the note to your default Notes account with the link icon. Or tap New Note and then find a folder or subfolder.

  • Each folder and subfolder has your notes sorted with Pinned at the top and the remaining Notes at the bottom.
  • Shared notes have the contact icon like on Mac, and Locked notes are grayed out and cannot be selected.
  • The Create New Note button is at the bottom of each screen, and the Search box is at the top.

Choose a Notes Location in Safari on iPhone

Save Safari web page text to Notes

If you’re going through a website in Safari and find some important text, here’s how to save that text to the Notes app.

  • Select the text on the Safari web page and right-click .
  • Choose Share and select the Notes app.
  • You will see the actual selected text in the small window. It will be saved as a new note, but you can click the Choose Note option and add it to an existing note.
  • Finally, click Save .

Save Safari web page text to Notes on Mac

  • Open Safari, visit the website, and select the text you want to add to a note.
  • After selecting the text, a thin menu strip will pop out. Tap the arrow button here and then tap Share .
  • Select the Notes app from the iOS Share Sheet.
  • Optional : Tap New Note and choose an existing note or folder where you want to save this note.
  • Finally, tap Save .

How to archive websites as PDFs and web archives in iOS 14

Your email has been sent

Image of Cory Bohon

Websites are changing on a daily basis, but sometimes you need to capture a website in its entirety in the moment of time that you’re viewing it. Whether it’s for historical or archival purposes, iOS can easily capture a web page in Safari as either a PDF or a web archive.

These two ways of preserving the web are great for most users, and each provide a different purpose: PDFs are great for being able to mark up with Apple Pencil and are self-contained and extremely portable. However, PDFs are essentially the digital equivalent of printing a web page–some content can appear distorted and slightly off compared to what you see on screen. Web archives let you archive the images, CSS and HTML on the web page so that it can be re-render and viewed offline just as though you were looking at the original page, but these web archive files can be larger in size and are only viewable in a web browser that supports the .webarchive format.

Regardless of the method that you choose to export the web page as for archival purposes, you’ll learn both methods in this how to article.

How to export a web page in Safari

Exporting a web page in Safari is an easy process, but changed in iOS 13 when Apple added the ability to export web pages as a Web Archive. PDFs and Web Archives can now be easily exported inside of the share sheet for Safari.

To export a web page for archival, visit the web page you wish to save, then follow these steps:

  • Select the Share button in Safari.
  • Select the Options button at the top of the share sheet that appears ( Figure A , left).
  • Select PDF or Web Archive, depending on the format that you wish to export ( Figure A , right).
  • Select Done.
  • Select an app to export the web archive or PDF to, or Save To Files to save to your iCloud Drive or other file sharing app.

safari save web page ipad

This works in Safari on the iPad and iPhone the same way; however, web pages that are exported as a PDF on the iPhone will feature the mobile layout of the website if enabled, while most web pages exported on the iPad will feature a desktop layout. Web archives may capture both the mobile and desktop versions since it will capture and archive the full HTML, CSS and image files used to create the page.

Web archive files work just like a web page–they can be opened in Safari on your iPad, iPhone or macOS devices. Simply open them from the Files app, or the Finder.

On macOS Big Sur , you may get an error that the web archive isn’t signed from a trusted developer. In this case, simply right-click on the web archive file and select Open, then Continue when prompted.

Once you’ve captured either a PDF or web archive, you’ve captured the page exactly as it was viewed at the time you opened the page. If the page changes later, you will have a historical reference to it. The web archive format is great for when you need to refer back to the site later and be able to export images and see the page in its entirety.

Safari 101 : How to Save a Website or Webpage to Your Home Screen for Instant Access

How to Save a Website or Webpage to Your Home Screen for Instant Access

The internet is full of fun, cool, and interesting websites. Bookmarks and favorites can help keep your favorite pages on hand, but they aren't the most convenient method. In iOS, Apple lets you save whatever webpages that you want to the home screen, so you'll have as easy access to them just as you do apps on your iPhone.

This feature is just about as old as the iPhone itself. However, it isn't super obvious, so even the seasoned iPhone owner might not know about this trick. Once you've learned, however, saving webpages to your home screen is quick and easy, and will make returning to those links again and again even faster. This is most important for websites you visit frequently that have no dedicated iOS app.

  • Don't Miss: The 10 Best New Safari Features in iOS 11 For iPhone

Saving a Webpage

To begin, launch Safari and load up any webpage you want to save. Make sure the Safari tools are visible, so either scroll up on the webpage or tap the top bar to make them appear if they're not already. Next, tap the share button at the bottom (or top if you're in landscape mode). Look at the bottom row of activities in the share sheet, then swipe left until you see "Add to Home Screen," and tap on it.

On the next page, everything should be filled out for you already. You will see an icon preview of what the saved webpage will look like on your home screen, taken from the website's favicon , and Apple will default to using the website's name, plus possibly its tagline, for the new "app" name. You can change the title to whatever you want, however, you'll want to to keep it short and sweet to avoid any irregular formatting on the home screen.

When you're finished, tap either "Done" in the keyboard or "Add" up top.

Safari 101: How to Save a Website or Webpage to Your Home Screen for Instant Access

Note that as of iOS 11.3 , some of the webpages you save may actually be progressive web apps (PWAs) that work like mini-versions of their apps in the iOS App Store, if they even have one in there. These webpages are treated more like apps that bookmarked webpages. More on that later.

Arranging & Deleting Your Saved Webpages

Your saved webpage will now appear on your home screen just like any other app. To move it somewhere else, simply tap and hold until the icons begin to shake, then drag the webpage to a new location. To delete the webpage, tap and hold again, but this time, tap the "X" icon. When prompted, tap "Delete."

Safari 101: How to Save a Website or Webpage to Your Home Screen for Instant Access

Viewing Your Webpage

When you're happy with your webpage's location, simply tap on it to open the link. The webpage will open as a new tab in Safari if it's from a regular website. If you already had the page open when you tapped on your home screen shortcut, it will promptly reload.

As for any PWAs that you added to your home screen, they should open up as their own app and not as a tab in Safari. This is the prime indicator for knowing if a webpage you saved is a PWA or not. For more information on how PWAs work and why they are nice to have, check out our roundup of cool PWA apps .

Interestingly, there seems to be a bug where webpages saved to the home screen do not always launch in Safari. Instead, they open as their own "app," meaning that Apple still has some work to do when it comes to supporting PWAs, since iOS sometimes confuses non-PWAs and PWAs. If you experience the bug, try force-closing Safari or restarting your iPhone . Afterward, your saved webpage should open normally in Safari. If it was actually a PWA, well ... then you now know it's a PWA.

Troubleshooting, how to save a webpage as pdf on ipad and iphone the easy way.

Save a webpage as PDF in iOS Safari the easy way

Want to save a web page as a PDF on iPad or iPhone? Generating PDF files of webpages and web articles is now easier than ever before in iOS, thanks to a new obvious “Create PDF” feature that is available in modern system software releases.

Any iPhone or iPad running iOS 11 or later now has the capability of creating a PDF file from any webpage in Safari through a direct feature; that means there is no more guesswork with hidden Save As PDF iOS gestures , or printing PDF 3D Touching , or forced use of iBooks (though those tricks still work if you prefer the secret approach), instead you can just directly initiate PDF creation with a simple method we will detail here in this tutorial.

This offers by far the fastest and easiest way to turn any web article or webpage into a PDF file on iOS.

How to Save Webpage as PDF on iPad and iPhone

This ‘Create PDF’ feature requires iOS 11 or newer. The walkthrough below demonstrates this capability on iPad but the feature is identical on iPhone as well.

  • Open Safari on the iPad or iPhone

Safari

  • Visit the webpage you want to save as a PDF (for example, this webpage you’re reading right now)
  • Tap on the Sharing button, it looks like a box with an arrow flying out of it

Save a webpage as PDF on iOS

• From the Sharing options, scroll through to find “Create PDF” and tap on that

Save a webpage as PDF on iOS by choosing Create PDF

  • You’ll be brought to a new screen with the PDF file visible, tap on “Done” *

Save a webpage as PDF on iOS

  • Choose “Save File To…”

Save a webpage as PDF on iOS

  • From the Files app iCloud Drive browser, tap the location or Folder you want to save the webpage PDF to and then tap on “Done” to save the PDF

Choose location to save the PDF of webpage to in Files app

A PDF file of the active webpage has now been created and saved to the Files app on the iPad or iPhone.

You can confirm the webpage PDF was created and saved properly by going to the “Files” app in iOS and then choosing the iCloud Drive folder or location you chose to save the PDF to.

The PDF file created from a webpage in Files app of iOS

* Before tapping on Done, you can also tap the little marker and use Markup to draw, doodle, or write on the PDF file if desired.

By default the name of generated PDF files from Safari will be in the format of “Safari – (Date of Creation) – (Time of Creation).pdf” but you can always rename it in the iOS Files app to be something more descriptive if desired.

Because Files app is also iCloud Drive, you can access the saved webpage PDF from any other iOS device or Mac that uses the same Apple ID via the Files app in iOS or via iCloud Drive on a Mac.

Oh and here’s a bonus quick tip that can help any created PDF files from Safari look a bit better: if a webpage saved as PDF is a little too cluttered, or you just want to remove any extra styling, you can use the use the Reader trick for printing webpages and articles without ads from iOS Safari and then use the Create PDF method once Reader mode has been activated on the article in question. The Reader view strips out just about all styling on a webpage and just leaves the text and images remaining, which can make for a simpler looking PDF file as well.

As mentioned before, you’ll need one of the most modern iOS releases to have access to Create PDF feature in the Safari Sharing function. You can either update to iOS 11 or later to gain this PDF creation capability, or rely on a different method of saving webpages as PDF files. Four alternative options for generating PDF documents of webpages include:

  • Using a hidden “Save As PDF” gesture in iOS 10 (or later)
  • Using a hidden 3D Touch trick to create a PDF file from the Print dialog in iOS (also iOS 10 or later)
  • Saving webpages into iBooks for iOS as as PDF files
  • Using a Javascript bookmarklet to generate PDF documents (works in iOS 6 and later)

Each of those methods offers the same end result of a PDF file generated from a webpage, but with the new direct “Create PDF” option available in Safari for modern iOS it is hard to want to recommend any other choice unless your iPhone or iPad is on an older system software release.

Do you know of any other handy tips, tricks, or techniques for generating PDF files from webpages on an iPad or iPhone? Share them with us in the comments!

When you demonstrate a “how-to,” consider using a webpage other than one that contains instructions for another iOS technique .” It gets confusing.

On OS X the sharing icon is at the bottom of the screen

I learned another way to save web pages to PDF…from one of your columns! In the Sharing button window, choose the PRINT option, make an arcane swipe open gesture with thumb and forefinger, then save. The advantage is that uses the name of the web page as the name of the PDF. Still my fave way to do it.

Yeah they did make a mention of that method near the end of this article too (which can also work using 3D touch instead of the zoom in gesture on an iphone 6s or later).

Another advantage of that method is that it is available from ANY app that supports printing (including many if not all 3rd party browsers), whereas the create pdf button is only available from Safari.

Kate, this is useful. Thank you. But I do not think so have to save a webpage to PDF on iPhone ever… This feature is pointless for me.

I think it’s more suitable for ipad users, who tend to work more with files and documents.

Yes, you are right. iPad. I am still working with MacBook Pro and iPhone; I was a bit insular.

“Each of those methods offers the same end result of a PDF file generated from a webpage, but with the new direct “Create PDF” option available in Safari for modern iOS it is hard to want to recommend any other choice unless your iPhone or iPad is on an older system software release.”

I happen to disagree with that statement. I think the hidden gesture/3D touch trick is really the one that makes any other choice hard to recommend for creating a pdf file. The javascript method is for older iOS versions and the create pdf button, introduced with iOS 11, is only available in Safari. The hidden gesture or 3D touch trick, on the other hand, is available from ANY app that supports printing. This includes 3rd party browsers and many other apps.

Also, the create pdf button often does a poor job in converting a web page into a multiple page document, as opposed to the 3D touch / hidden gesture trick.

In answer to BPrice and Don Wood, anything in iCloud is in Files and if you tap on the file to view it, it’s now on your device. I just verified this by turning off Wi-Fi and cellular and I can still view the files, so they are certainly on my device as well as iCloud. You could also open the file in iBooks, Notes or a third party app like GoodReader. Is this what you meant?

I think they meant to ask if there is a way to store files in the ‘on my ipad/iphone’ location within the new ios 11 files app, so that the files are stored on the device but without being uploaded to icloud too.

And as far as I know that’s only possible if you have any apps that support storing in that location and have already created their own folders in it. Examples of such apps are Adobe Acrobat, Garage Band, Nook and the iWorks suite apps (pages, numbers and keynote).

I’ve been using this method for awhile and it works well. One thing to note is that the resulting pdf file is one (often long) page, unlike the other methods which break the pdf into normal pages. Another more serious issue is that often the resulting file is truncated. The end of the original web page is cut off. I haven’t figured out yet if there is a maximum length or what.

Right. And the first two methods, which are really one and the same except for the alternative of accessing via 3D touch or pinching to zoom depending on the device used, are available from ANY app -built in or 3rd party- that supports printing. This includes 3rd party browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, etc. The ‘create pdf’ button, on the other hand, is only available in the built in Safari browser.

I have the same question.

See my response to Bprice above. Hope it answers your question.

Tangentially, is there a way to store .pdf to Files on my iOS device? Apple wants me to use iCloud, but I’d rather have them on my device.

You can store files in the ‘on my ipad’ or ‘on my iphone’ location within the new ios 11 files app -if that’s what you meant to ask about- only if you have any apps installed that support storing there and have already created their own folders. Examples of such apps are Garage Band, Adobe Acrobat, Nook, and the iworks suite apps (pages, numbers and keynote).

Incidentally, if you are working with pdf files you may want to download the aforementioned Adobe Acrobat.

Not quite. Yes, there is a Files location named On My iMac, but it only allows creation of folders from other apps. There seems to be no way of storing a .pdf there without a folder. At that level, there’s no creation of folders not associated with an app.

Right, exactly. That’s how the ‘On my [device]’ location in the files app works on iOS devices too. But once those apps have automatically created their own folders, you can store in those folders from anywhere in iOS such as in Safari via the ‘save to files’ button in the share sheet.

And I forgot to mention this, but while you cannot create folders at root level in the ‘on my [device]’ location, you can certainly create subfolders within any of the app folders.

iPad Tip: Saving Websites in Safari with Bookmarks and Web Clips

safari save web page ipad

I spent some time earlier today solving a computer problem for my sister. We’ve done this together several times using iChat on our Macs and having her share her screen with me. iChat screen sharing allows me to see exactly what’s happening on her end, even though she’s in Pennsylvania and I’m in Georgia. She’s always grateful for the help and I get practice solving a Mac mystery. Her husband then had a question about his iPad. Our conversation reminded me I need to address a few of the basic skills that make your iPad more functional and more fun. So let’s see how to make the web browser called Safari a more useful tool for your iPad with Bookmarks and Web Clips.

safari save web page ipad

You create bookmarks using the action icon just to the right of the bookmark icon. To add a bookmark to your bookmarks collection, tap the action icon and then tap Add Bookmark,  the first choice in this list.

Web Clips  A Web Clip appears like any other application icon on your Home Screen, but instead of starting up a little program known as an app, a web clip starts Safari and jumps you directly to the site of the web clip. To make a web clip, tap Add to Home Screen,  change the name for the icon if you wish, and then tap Add . An icon representing the site will appear on your iPad screen.

How to Save Webpages as PDF On Your iPhone/iPad

How to Save a Web Page as a Home Screen App on Your iOS Device [Quick Tips]

Shujaa Imran

Ever since Safari for iOS was released on the original iPhone back in 2007, it featured a nice little option that let you add an icon as a bookmark for a website on the home screen. The bookmark icon looks very similar to an app icon. Whenever a user touches the icon, Safari launches and navigates to the website.

This feature is available for Safari on both iPhones and iPads, and while it’s nothing game-changing, it offers quick access to your favorite websites, directly from your iOS device’s home screen.

Simply follow the instructions below to add a website bookmark to your home screen. As mentioned before, this should work on all iOS devices, but the screenshots below have been taken on an iPhone:

1. Open up Safari from the Home Screen. In Safari, open up the website you wish to store as a bookmark on your home screen:

Save-Website-Home-Screen-iOS-Open-Website

2. Click on the “Action” button as shown below:

Save-Website-Home-Screen-iOS-Action-Button

3. In the opening pop-up menu select the “Add To Home Screen” option.

4. Change the bookmark name so that it suits you. Once you’re done, click the “Add” button.

Save-Website-Home-Screen-iOS-Add

5. Your iOS device will now return to the home screen, and you’ll see your website bookmark’s icon next to your apps:

Save-Website-Home-Screen-iOS-Icon

You’ll notice that different sites will have different icons. If the site you bookmarked offers an iPhone/iPad icon, that icon will be shown, otherwise a miniature screenshot of the site will be shown on your home screen.

Now, you can easily save your favorite websites as home screen bookmarks, hence allowing you to quickly and efficiently access them, without wasting valuable time.

To delete the icon, you can simply touch and hold the icon and then press the little “x” button next to the bookmark, much like you would delete any normal iOS app.

Did this work for you? Be sure to tell us in the comments below.

Customizing Safari Settings - Safari: Browsing the Web with Apple iOS: A Safari Adventure

One of the biggest challenges that users face when browsing the web is managing a large number of open tabs. With so many websites and pages to explore, it's easy to get lost in a sea of tabs and lose track of what you were doing. Fortunately, there are several strategies and tools available to help you manage and organize your tabs effectively.

1. Use Tab Groups

One of the most effective ways to manage your tabs is to group them into categories that make sense to you. Safari allows you to create tab groups, which are collections of tabs that can be named and saved for later use. To create a tab group, simply right-click on a tab and select "Add to Tab Group." You can then give the group a name and color-code it for easy identification. This is a great way to keep tabs organized by topic, project, or priority.

2. Utilize Tab Preview

Another useful feature in Safari is Tab Preview, which allows you to see a thumbnail preview of each open tab by hovering your mouse over it. This is particularly helpful when you have a lot of tabs open and can't easily identify them by their titles. To enable Tab Preview, go to Safari Preferences > Tabs and select "Show website previews in tabs."

3. Use a Tab Manager

If you find yourself overwhelmed by a large number of tabs, you might consider using a third-party tab manager like OneTab or Tabli. These tools allow you to quickly and easily consolidate all your open tabs into a single list, which you can then save for later use. This is a great way to reduce clutter and improve your overall browsing experience.

4. Close Tabs Automatically

Another effective way to manage your tabs is to set Safari to automatically close tabs after a certain amount of time. This is particularly useful if you tend to leave tabs open for days or even weeks at a time. To enable this feature, go to Safari Preferences > Tabs and select "After one day" or "After one week" under the "Close tabs" dropdown menu.

5. Use Keyboard Shortcuts

Finally, one of the easiest ways to manage your tabs is to use keyboard shortcuts. Safari offers several shortcuts for opening, closing, and switching between tabs, which can save you a lot of time and effort. For example, you can use Command + T to open a new tab, Command + W to close the current tab, and Command + Option + Left/Right Arrow to switch between tabs.

Managing and organizing your tabs is essential for a productive and efficient browsing experience. By using tools like tab groups, preview, and managers, as well as implementing automatic tab closing and keyboard shortcuts, you can take control of your tabs and make the most of your time online.

Tab Management and Organization - Safari: Browsing the Web with Apple iOS: A Safari Adventure

When browsing the web, privacy and security should be a top priority . Safari offers several features to enhance browsing privacy and security. These features provide protection against malicious websites, prevent tracking, and keep personal data safe . In this section, we will explore some of the privacy and security features available in Safari.

1. Private Browsing Mode:

Safari's Private Browsing Mode is a feature that allows users to surf the web without leaving any trace of their activities on the device. When in this mode, Safari does not save any browsing history, cookies, or cache data. This feature is useful for those who do not want their browsing history to be tracked or saved. To enable Private Browsing Mode, tap on the tabs icon and select "Private" in the bottom left-hand corner.

2. Intelligent Tracking Prevention:

Intelligent Tracking Prevention is a feature that blocks third-party cookies from tracking users across websites. Safari identifies which cookies are used for tracking and blocks them, giving users more control over their online privacy. This feature is automatically enabled in Safari and does not require any action from the user.

3. Fraudulent Website Warning:

Safari's Fraudulent Website Warning feature alerts users when they visit a website that is known for phishing or other fraudulent activities. This feature helps users avoid websites that may steal personal information or install malware on their device. If Safari detects a potential threat, it will display a warning message, and the user can choose to leave the website or continue at their own risk.

4. Password Manager:

Safari's Password Manager feature allows users to securely store and autofill passwords for websites. This feature saves users time and eliminates the need to remember multiple passwords. Passwords are encrypted and stored locally on the device, so users can be confident that their data is safe. To enable Password Manager, go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts > Autofill Passwords.

5. Content Blockers:

Content Blockers are third-party apps that can be used to block advertisements, trackers, and other unwanted content. Safari supports Content Blockers and allows users to install and manage them in the Settings app. Content Blockers can improve browsing speed and reduce data usage, as well as enhance privacy and security.

Safari offers several features to enhance browsing privacy and security. Private Browsing Mode, Intelligent Tracking Prevention, Fraudulent Website Warning, Password Manager, and Content Blockers are all useful tools for protecting personal data and staying safe online. While all of these features are important, the best option for each user will depend on their individual needs and preferences. By taking advantage of these features, Safari users can browse the web with confidence and peace of mind.

Browsing Privacy and Security Features - Safari: Browsing the Web with Apple iOS: A Safari Adventure

Safari is the default web browser on Apple devices such as iPhones, iPads, and Macs. It offers a range of features that make browsing the web a seamless experience. One of these features is the Reading List and Bookmarks. These two tools allow users to save web pages for later reading or reference. In this section, we will take a closer look at how to use Safari's Reading List and Bookmarks effectively.

1. Understanding the Reading List

The Reading List is a tool that allows users to save web pages for later reading. It is similar to a bookmark, but it is designed specifically for articles or pages that users want to read later. The Reading List is synced across all Apple devices that are signed in with the same Apple ID. To add a page to the Reading List, simply tap the share button and select "Add to Reading List." To access the Reading List, tap the book icon in the Safari toolbar and select "Reading List."

2. Organizing Bookmarks

Bookmarks are a way to save web pages that users want to revisit frequently. Safari allows users to organize bookmarks into folders, making it easier to find the page they are looking for. To create a new folder, tap the book icon in the Safari toolbar and select "Edit." Then, tap "New Folder" and give the folder a name. To add a page to a folder, tap the share button and select "Add Bookmark." Then, select the folder where you want to save the bookmark.

3. Syncing Bookmarks Across Devices

Safari allows users to sync bookmarks across all Apple devices that are signed in with the same Apple ID. To enable bookmark syncing, go to Settings > iCloud and make sure Safari is turned on. Once enabled, any changes made to bookmarks on one device will automatically be reflected on all other devices. This is especially useful for users who use multiple devices and want to have access to the same bookmarks on all of them.

4. Using Reading List and Bookmarks Together

Using the Reading List and Bookmarks together can help users stay organized and make it easier to find the pages they want to read or reference. For example, users can save a page to the Reading List when they come across an article they want to read later. Then, when they have time to read it, they can save it to a bookmark folder for future reference. This way, users can keep their Reading List clean and only save pages they truly want to read later.

5. Best Option: It Depends

Whether to use the Reading List, Bookmarks, or both depends on the user's needs. If a user wants to save pages specifically for later reading, then the Reading List is the best option. If a user wants to save pages for frequent reference, then Bookmarks are the way to go. Users who use both options can benefit from using them together to stay organized and make it easier to find the pages they want to read or reference.

Safari's Reading List and Bookmarks are two useful tools that can help users stay organized and make browsing the web a seamless experience. Understanding how to use these tools effectively can save users time and make it easier to find the pages they want to read or reference. Whether to use the Reading List, Bookmarks, or both depends on the user's needs, but using them together can result in a more organized and efficient browsing experience.

Using Safaris Reading List and Bookmarks - Safari: Browsing the Web with Apple iOS: A Safari Adventure

Browsing the web can be a tedious task for some people, especially when they have to visit multiple websites for different purposes. Safari, the default web browser for Apple iOS, has been designed to provide a seamless browsing experience. However, there are times when you need more than just the basic features of Safari. This is where Safari extensions come in handy. Safari extensions are small software programs that add functionality to the Safari browser, allowing you to customize your browsing experience. In this section of the blog, we will discuss how you can enhance your browsing experience with Safari extensions.

1. Ad Blockers

One of the most popular Safari extensions is ad blockers. Ads can be annoying and intrusive, making it difficult to concentrate on the content you are trying to read. Ad blockers remove all ads from the web pages you visit, providing a cleaner and distraction-free browsing experience. UBlock Origin is a highly recommended ad blocker extension for Safari, as it is lightweight and uses minimal system resources.

2. Password Managers

Password managers are another useful Safari extension that can help you manage your passwords and login credentials. With a password manager, you no longer have to remember multiple login details for different websites. Instead, you only need to remember one master password. 1Password is a popular password manager extension for Safari that securely stores your login details and generates strong passwords for you.

3. Grammar and Spell Checkers

If you are someone who frequently writes emails or other documents using Safari, a grammar and spell checker extension can be very useful. These extensions check your grammar and spelling as you type, highlighting any errors and suggesting corrections. Grammarly is a popular grammar and spell checker extension for Safari that provides real-time suggestions and improves your writing skills.

4. Productivity Tools

Safari extensions can also help you increase your productivity by adding useful tools to your browser. For example, Pocket is an extension that allows you to save articles and web pages to read later, even when you are offline. Another useful extension is Evernote, whichlet's you clip and save web pages, take notes, and create to-do lists.

5. Privacy and Security

privacy and security are essential when browsing the web, and Safari extensions can help you enhance both. VPN extensions like NordVPN and ExpressVPN encrypt your internet traffic, protecting your online privacy and security. Another useful extension is Ghostery, which blocks trackers and protects your data from being collected by third-party websites.

Safari extensions can help you customize your browsing experience and make it more productive, secure, and enjoyable. With so many extensions available, it can be challenging to decide which ones to use. However, by considering your specific needs and preferences, you can choose the best extensions for your browsing habits. Whether you want to block ads, manage passwords, check grammar, increase productivity, or enhance privacy and security, there is a Safari extension available for you.

- Command + T: Open a new tab

- Command + W: Close the current tab

Tips and Tricks for Efficient Browsing on Safari - Safari: Browsing the Web with Apple iOS: A Safari Adventure

As we come to the end of our Safari adventure, it's time to make a final decision on which browser to use on Apple iOS. While there are a few options available, including Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, Safari stands out as the go-to browser for several reasons. In this blog section, we'll explore why Safari is the best browser choice for Apple iOS users.

1. Integration with Apple ecosystem

One of the biggest advantages of using Safari on Apple iOS devices is its seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem. Safari is designed to work seamlessly with other Apple applications such as iCloud and iMessage. This means that users can easily sync their bookmarks, history, and tabs across all their Apple devices. Additionally, Safari supports features like Handoff and Continuity, which allow users to start browsing on one device and continue on another without losing their place.

2. Speed and performance

Safari is known for its speed and performance on Apple iOS devices. In fact, it is often considered one of the fastest browsers available on mobile devices. Safari is optimized to work with Apple's hardware and software, which means it can take advantage of the latest technologies to deliver a fast and smooth browsing experience. For example, Safari uses a technology called WebKit, which is a layout engine that powers most of the web browsers on Apple devices.

3. Privacy and security

Safari also offers robust privacy and security features that make it a safe choice for browsing the web. For example, Safari includes Intelligent Tracking Prevention, which blocks third-party trackers from following users across the web. Additionally, Safari uses machine learning to identify and block suspicious websites that may be trying to steal users' personal information. Finally, Safari supports HTTPS encryption, which ensures that users' data is encrypted and protected from prying eyes.

4. user interface and design

Safari's user interface and design are well-suited for Apple iOS devices. The browser has a clean and minimalistic design that puts the focus on the content rather than the browser itself. Additionally, Safari includes features like Reader Mode, which strips away unnecessary content from web pages and presents them in a more readable format. Finally, Safari supports features like Dark Mode, which reduces eye strain and makes browsing the web more comfortable in low-light environments.

5. Extensions and add-ons

While Safari does not support as many extensions and add-ons as some other browsers, it still offers a decent selection of useful tools. For example, users can install ad-blockers, password managers, and productivity tools like Grammarly. Additionally, Safari supports WebExtensions, which is a cross-browser API that allows developers to create extensions that work across multiple browsers.

Safari is the best browser choice for Apple iOS users. Its seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem, speed and performance, privacy and security features, user interface and design, and extensions and add-ons make it the most well-rounded browser available. While other browsers may offer some unique features or advantages, Safari's overall package makes it the clear winner for Apple iOS users.

How to screenshot an entire web page in Safari on iOS 13!

Access the best of the internet in a PDF!

Sometimes, when you need to share a great article or a comic strip you found embedded on a website and want to send it as a screenshot, it’s arguably difficult to capture it in individual parts and then send them in a way that doesn’t mess up the chronological order. Trust me. It’s a nightmare when that happens.

If you want to capture more than what displays on your screen while browsing in Safari , there’s good news for you.

iOS 13 now lets you efficiently use the screenshot tool to capture an entire web page instead of what’s visible on the screen at the time. Note that, instead of saving it as a photo, iOS saves the long screenshot as a PDF document for easy accessibility and compatibility.

Here’s how to screenshot an entire web page in Safari on iOS 13!

Note: Long screenshots only work in Safari on iPhone and iPad on iOS 13.

  • Open any web page in Safari. For demonstration, let’s access a post I wrote three days ago .
  • Capture the screen by pressing the Power + Home button on iPhone 8 and earlier and Power + Volume up buttons on iPhone X and later.
  • A screenshot editing interface will appear.
  • Tap on the “Full Page” button when you’re still in the screenshots editing interface.
  • You can scroll down using the scrubber on the right-hand side to annotate or markup parts of the long screenshot.
  • When you’re done editing. Tap Done.
  • Choose the folder where you would like to save the PDF for the long screenshot in the Files app.
  • You’re done! All you have to do now is share.

Screenshots on iOS have always been handy. Look anywhere on the web, and you’ll find pictures of iOS’ distinctive user interface, which is because of two reasons. First, because taking screenshots on iOS is a breeze, especially after the new screenshots editing interface that was introduced in iOS 11.

Second, because iOS is the most popular mobile operating system after Android .

However, Android has always been ahead of iOS when it comes to taking screenshots. For instance, some Android OEMs have had the ability to capture long screenshots way before iOS first introduced them with iOS 13 two weeks ago.

But, hey, it’s good to see Apple finally catching up with essential features. And it has precisely hit the spot this time with iOS 13.

iOS 13 introduces some fascinating features including a system-wide dark mode, updated apps, interface changes, and much more.
