How to use adaptive cruise control on Mazda CX-3, CX-5, CX-9, CX-30, Mazda3 or Mazda6

Mazda Radar Cruise Control or MRCC with Stop-and-Go function reduces driver effort by automatically maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle in front.

adaptive cruise control mazda cx 30

A radar sensor in front of the car monitors the road ahead. When approaching a slower vehicle, the system automatically adjusts the speed of your car to maintain a safe following distance.

How to adjust gap: You can adjust this distance by using the up or down buttons on the steering wheel.

adaptive cruise control mazda cx 30

When the vehicle in front moves out of the way or you change lanes, Mazda’s Radar Cruise Control returns your car to the original set speed.

If the vehicle in front comes to a complete stop the system will slowly stop your car at safe distance behind. If rapid braking is required, to avoid a collision, MRCC will alert the driver to brake harder.

When the vehicle in front departs, the system will issue an alert, letting you know it is clear ahead. Once you tap or depress the accelerator, the system will automatically speed up to the preset speed or distance, depending on whether you are behind the slower vehicle.

Mazda’s Radar Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go function is a part of i-ACTIVESENSE safety technology.

Adaptive Cruise Control issue?

adaptive cruise control mazda cx 30

  • Add to quote

I noticed while using adaptive cruise control and going around a long but not sharp corner, I can still see the car ahead of me, but it seems like my car does not and starts speeding up quite a bit until the road starts to straighten out a little bit and then it goes back into adaptive mode and slows back down to the speed of the car in front of me. It almost seems like the front sensor view is too narrow. I wonder if anyone else experiences this?

adaptive cruise control mazda cx 30

I‘ve seen this too. I’ve also seen it slow down when going around a corner because it sees a car ahead in the next lane, but apparently thinks it’s in mine, so it unnecessary slows down. The technology is not perfect.

adaptive cruise control mazda cx 30

Due to the annoyances the system causes, I disable mine every time.

NEED MORE INFORMATION?

Yes, the Inline 6 engine comes standard with a turbocharger.

The Mazda CX-70 is a mid-size SUV with sporty style and features. It’s larger than the Mazda CX-5 and the Mazda CX-50. The CX-70 is an option for those seeking a vibrant and active lifestyle who need extra cargo space. By comparison, the similarly sized Mazda CX-90 offers 3rd-row seating and can accommodate up to 8 people. The CX-90 is perfect for families or those who enjoy driving around others in an elegantly crafted interior.

Both the CX-70 and CX-70 PHEV feature an advanced 8-speed automatic transmission for a smooth and seamless driving experience.

On select models, the CX-70 can tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped with a tow hitch. The tow hitch is an accessory available as a dealer-installed or port-installed option.

Enhancements available exclusively with the Genuine Mazda Accessory tow hitch include 360° View Monitor with Trailer Hitch View and Towing Mode. Trailer Hitch View is a function that displays a top down image of the vehicle’s trailer hitch with a Trailer Hitch Guideline on the center display to facilitate alignment when hitching a trailer to the vehicle, while Towing Mode optimizes driving performance when towing a trailer to help prevent sway and improve the vehicle stability. 20

Kinematic Posture Control (KPC) is a unique Mazda technology that applies braking to the inside rear wheel while cornering. This pulls down the vehicle's inner rear corner and helps suppress body roll. The technology provides enhanced steering precision and better driving dynamics, and it's a standard feature in the Mazda CX-70 and CX-70 PHEV. 21

Mild hybrids, hybrids, and plug-in hybrids are three different types of electrified vehicles combining a combustion engine with an electric motor. They differ in how the vehicle is powered and how battery packs are charged.

Mild hybrid electric vehicles (MHEVs) feature an internal combustion engine (ICE) with a small electric motor and battery. A typical MHEV motor is too small to power the vehicle, but rather it supports the combustion engine in low load driving situations. Batteries are charged via regenerative braking, which also powers vehicle accessories like the climate control system. A key benefit of MHEVs can be better fuel efficiency compared to vehicles with similarly sized ICEs, even though electric power can't move the vehicle on its own.

Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) feature a larger battery and a more powerful electric motor compared to an MHEV. As a result, an HEV can be powered by the electric motor, combustion engine or a combination of the two.

Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) feature even larger batteries and a more powerful electric motor compared to HEVs, although they still utilize a gas engine. The main difference between a PHEV and an HEV is, as the name suggests, PHEV batteries can be recharged by plugging them into an external electricity source, via regenerative braking or by the vehicle’s gasoline engine. PHEVs also have the ability to drive longer distances than a HEV using electric power only.

  1. Adaptive cruise control in stop-and-go traffic

Adaptive cruise control in stop-and-go traffic. I have a 2021 CX-30 Preferred and have a question about adaptive cruise control while in stop-and-go traffic. I tried it for the first time today (only got my car in August) and it worked well. However, I noticed that when my car would come to a complete stop, it would turn on the "Hold" light.
