“When you are standing next to Suge Knight , and you’re the person going to jail … that is a wake up call for your ass,”  Katt Williams  says at the start of his stand-up special, Priceless . The comedian’s many run-ins with the law provide fodder for his routine, which is from a May 17th, 2014, performance of his “Growth Spurt” tour. Priceless is his second solo special on HBO , after 2006’s The Pimp Chronicles, Part 1 , and just one of several other collaborations with the network.

In Priceless , Williams bursts onto the scene covered in a floor-length white fur coat, which he tosses aside on one of the giant chairs decorating the set. The larger-than-life furniture serves to further dwarf the diminutive star (who is 5’5″), as he immediately begins a manic routine in front of a highly receptive audience at Ontario, California’s Citizens Bank Arena.

Williams’ energy is at an all-time high as he launches into some familiar comic territory about the changing state of weed, racist celebrities, police violence and his favorite TV shows (in the current number one spot: Swamp People ). He almost never stops moving; if he’s not pacing, he’s shifting around the stools on the stage. At one point after taking off his jacket, he runs back and forth across the stage, even throwing himself down on the floor occasionally (and sometimes with a stool, which he uses as a great prop), all of which capitalize on combining his gift for physical comedy with his jokes. He also just looks like he’s having fun.

Williams does address some of his recent controversies, though, like about whether or not he is homophobic (“I am pro-pussy,” he says. “I don’t even think lesbians should pay taxes, because they’re already taking care of two vaginas!”), and also riffs a lot on his faith: “Atheist, no one is afraid of you because you got no backup. If you kill me, then I’m going straight to Jesus, and I’m gonna snitch on you. Who you gonna tell?” 

Most of Williams’ material (much of which is topical, some of which feels recycled) lands, and some of it is raucously funny. But even when it doesn’t quite elicit a huge response, the volume of jokes, as well as Williams’ nonstop nature both in speech and physicality, doesn’t leave much time for dwelling. From the start, Williams sweats profusely, wiping his face and hair down distractingly often. Yet it’s no wonder given the amount of exertion. Halfway through the special, he catches a glimpse of himself onscreen, and looks genuinely taken aback at his unpolished state. “Ladies,” he says, “you didn’t tell me my perm had left the building!”

Spike Lee ‘s direction acts as a balance to Williams; when he moves, the shots are mostly static. In the rare moments when he stops (or uses the stools as a prop), the camera moves around Williams, often shooting him from below to make him seem larger, yet also approachable, like a friend cracking jokes at a party. But in the end, the mood shifts. Williams closes the show on a serious note of encouragement, and as he leaves, he hugs, high-fives and takes pictures with his fans in the front row. The encouragement seems as much for himself as anyone else. Despite his successful set and laughing at his own legal woes, Williams’ troubles may not be behind him. That somewhat somber moment at the end brings to mind a line he uttered at the beginning: “Check TMZ for more.”

ATLANTA - Mark your calendar – Comedian Katt Williams is bringing his North American HEAVEN ON EARTH TOUR to Atlanta.

For over 20 years, Katt Williams has made the world think hard and laugh harder with raunchy stand-up. He's known for selling out arenas, stealing the show in movies like Friday After Next and First Sunday, and most recently, nearly breaking the internet with his tell-all interview with Shannon Sharpe on the YouTube show Club Shay Shay .

The tour kicks off at the top of 2025 with its first stop being in Ontario on Jan. 11.

Williams will then make his way to the Peach State twice, performing at the Macon Coliseum on Feb. 7 and at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on March 1. Tickets for the Macon show are available here. Pre-sale tickets for Atlanta will be available on Ticketmaster on July 17.

Taped at Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, Cal. on May 17 during his nationwide, “Growth Spurt” Tour, the new special features Williams’ fearless take on a number of topics, including: the allure of California weed dispensaries; how America handles tragedies; getting rid of racism in 2014; his inspirations and his favorite TV show; homophobia and the first openly gay players in major sports; aggressive police tactics; being sent to a mental institution; doctors and the problem with drug commercials; the pros and cons of being single; and more.

Bag Policy and New Screening Measures

‘I’m Rich Because of Him’: How Katt Williams Made It Rain $10,000 at Red Grant's Wedding and Sparked Comedian's Wife to Retire Early

Katt Williams has jokingly been blamed for opening the dark and chaotic portal that ushered in 2024, but to many of his peers, he is known as a stand-up guy.

The comedic provocateur sent social media into a frenzy for weeks when he called out Hollywood personalities such as Steve Harvey, Cedric The Entertainer, and Kevin Hart for being morally corrupt stars on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast in January. 

In subsequent months, celebrities like Mo’Nique , Gary Owen, and others have praised the Ohio native for lending them a helping hand in their times of need and giving them opportunities to grow their careers. Comedian Red Grant is one of those people who has shared the positive impact Williams has had in his life.

“I’m rich because of him. I have a new home because of him. My wife is retired because of him. My kids go to great private schools now because of that. He has put money in my family’s account,” he told Real Lyfe Street Starz in a June 27 sit-down interview.   

Grant recalled that Williams was a memorable guest at his and his wife Noell Grant’s 2007 wedding. He said the comic threw $10,000 onto the dance floor and only allowed kids to collect the money, echoing a sentiment that others have shared about the actor’s generosity.

He previously told the outlet that Williams was responsible for ending his two-year hiatus from telling jokes. “Me and Katt got a real friendship…that’s my friend, and he’s blessed me, not only financially, but he’s blessed me [by] opening up his audience to me,” he said.

Grant said they met and began working together when Williams hosted comedy nights at Hollywood Park in Los Angeles. He claimed they connected later at Luenell’s party, where Williams asked Grant to join him on tour. This was also before Williams’ 2006 HBO special, “The Pimp Chronicles, Pt. 1,” which Luenell and Grant both starred in.

The former Viacom producer shared the clip of his recent remarks on Instagram. His caption read, “When you have real God-spirited friends like Mr. @kattwilliams, they open doors for you, and when you get in, you in turn open doors for others…It’s hard to find real friendships out in this world, and I appreciate your kindness and truth over the last 20 years.”

This act of goodwill follows Mo’Nique revealing on the same platform that interviewed Williams that he took care of her co-star, Yvette Wilson, who played Andell Wilkerson in “The Parkers.”

Wilson sadly  lost her battle with stage 4 cervical cancer  and kidney disease in 2012, and Mo’Nique told Shannon Sharpe that Williams “took care of that sister until she left this earth.”

Social media users accepted these anecdotes as more proof of the “Friday After Next” star’s character. “WHAT’S CRAZY IS THIS IS CONSISTENTLY THE TALES OF KATT WILLIAMS AS A GREAT FRIEND AND INDIVIDUAL,” one fan wrote .

A second comment stated, “I love how you gave Katt his flowers. You’re definitely one of the few solid guys in the game!”

Williams and Grant friends have previously shared the screen in the 2008 comedy flick “First Sunday,” starring Ice Cube. Grant also appeared in 2007’s “Katt Williams: American Hustle” special and Williams’ now-concluded “Dark Matter Tour.”

Fans hoping to catch Williams live can do so when he hits the stage as part of 50 Cent’s Humor & Harmony: Big Bowl Comedy Show in Shreveport, Louisiana, in August and again next year when the comedian kicks off his Heaven On Earth tour in January.

Tennessee football head coach Josh Heupel gives hilarious reaction to Paul Finebaum's casket entrance in Knoxville on SEC Network.

SEC Media Days got kicked off on Monday and the Tennessee Volunteers took the podium on day two on Tuesday . Every head coach from the conference along with several players will have a chance to speak to the media this week in Dallas, Texas. It also gives members of each program some more unique media appearances, and Heupel participated in one that will give fans a good laugh.

During the 2022 college football season, college football analyst Paul Finebaum pulled off one of the more hilarious stunts on SEC Nation the day Tennessee faced Alabama in Knoxville. A group of people brought in a Tennessee orange casket and Finebaum popped out of it to predict Tennessee would upset Alabama. So, SEC Network figured it would be funny to get Heupels' reaction, and they were correct.

The backstory behind the casket is a Tennessee fan named Horace Perkins III found the casket in an old barn. Perkins' kids long joked that they would one day bury their dad in a Tennessee orange casket, so he went ahead and got a head start on making that happen. In return, Finebaum decided it would be the perfect prop for his game prediction.

As college football fans know, Tennessee would go on to upset the Crimson Tide and it propelled the Volunteers into the top spot in the college football playoff rankings.
