Kehlani entered the music scene in 2014 upon the release of her independent mixtape, Cloud 19. The mixtape was released digitally and featured the lead single, “FWU.” Although the record didn’t enter the mainstream charts, it was highly acclaimed by critics. Pitchfork published a feature titled 50 Best Albums of 2014, where Cloud 19 was ranked at number 28. After her debut release, Kehlani dropped another mixtape, You Should Be Here, which debuted at number 35 on the Billboard 200, number 5 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and number 2 on Top R&B Albums charts. After catching the attention of record labels with her critically-acclaimed mixtapes, Kehlani signed with Atlantic Records and went on to work on her first studio album.

In January 2017, Kehlani released their debut album, SweetSexySavage. The record topped Billboard’s R&B chart and peaked at number 3 on the Billboard 200. The record spawned the platinum hit songs “Crzy,” “Distraction,” and “Gangsta.” Three years later, Kehlani dropped her follow-up album, It Was Good Until It Wasn’t. The sophomore studio album topped the R&B chart and peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. Featuring guest artists such as Tyga, Tony Lanez, James Blake, and more, the record was preceded by singles, “Can I,” “F&MU,” “Toxic,” and “Everybody’s Business.”

Kehlani recently released her latest album, Blue Water Road, with much-critical acclaim. The third studio effort features guest performances from Justin Bieber, Blxst, Thundercat, and more. The thirteen-track album was praised for its delicate warmth and for being Kehlani’s most groundbreaking album.

Kehlani’s show at the Fillmore Auditorium will feature special guests, Destin Conrad and Rico Nasty. Tickets are now available!

I bought tickets for mosh for Kehlani and I was super excited to see her so I got there about 6 hours earlier. Two of my friends and I sat in line for 5 hours, close to the front, and with 1 hour until doors opened we were told that we, and a lot of other people, were in the wrong line. I was disappointed that there were no signs indicating the line situation or even a security guard telling us when we got there.

When we got inside the theatre we were a lot further back than anticipated but with the atmosphere of the mosh and every pushing each other around my friend and I made our way to the second row!!!

Kehlani was amazing in concert. She spoke so wonderfully between songs and her voice was amazing. She was so friendly and was so much sweeter than you'd ever expect. Overall despite the beginning not being the best, it was probably one of the best concerts of my life!!!!!

On a Sunday, after doing straight shows all week, and with a throat acking, Kehlani still managed to sing her heart out, and with having to go to her dj for throat remedies once in a while, she still managed to fill the show with energy, dancing her ass off, with her stellar dancers. The relentless drummer, with arms like logs, kept a beat almost as tight as Kehlanis abs...

Coupled with some 'talking-breaks' where she shared her wisdom(which is a lot with her only being 21), this was the perfect Sunday out.

Go see her show, bring a friend, dance all night, and you'll have a night you will never forget.

Peace, and thank you Kehlani and friends. <3

It exceeded by expectations! Kehlani is full of talent, love, light, and integrity! The show was super entertaining from Kehlani herself, the beautiful back up dancers, the live dj, keyboard player, and drummer. She preached about self love and treating others with kindness and love to make life more enriching (something we all need to be reminded of) and touched on topics most artists never speak about like empathy and who is an empath and tips to help. Truly a powerful show on many levels. Can't wait to see her again! xoxo

This was such an amazing concert! Kehlani is not only super talented vocally, but the entire performance was impeccable from start to finish. She stayed true to who she is and engaged so well with the audience. Despite only coming to hear her sing, her activism and engagement with worldwide and Australian issues was super inspiring! The fact that the venue wasn't arena level also made the whole experience more intimate and breathtaking. Loved her and her whole team, I would pay twice the price to experience it all again.

abeny-kuol’s profile image

Well, first of all. Good job to her team for running on time, very few times I attend a concert and the Artist runs on time. Kehlani's opening acts were Jahkoy & Ella Mai. Jahkoy was cool, he has a nice voice, had the crowd interested. Ella Mai is really dope, I'm a huge fan of her, and she sounds amazing live. Kehlani really killed the show from start to finish, singing live and doing dancing as well. She also spoke to us about "Self Love", Kehlani is an all around great performer and artist. Great show, well worth $35.

nick-andrew’s profile image

It was a great show! Kehlani is such a sweet human with a heart of gold. Glad to be on this journey with her and able to see her live for the first time. She took time to talk to us and share encouraging words. She sang every song on the album and 2 songs from "you should be here" I was also hoping to hear some of "cloud 19" but that's okay. She killed it! Great energy would definitely see her again. She definitely draws a diverse crowd and everyone was live and loving exactly how you'd expect a concert to be!

gorjessii’s profile image

The Catalyst isn't the biggest venue and it was suuuper hot in there but the show that Kehlani put on was so beyond worth it. They didn't have ALL of the merchandise so that kinda sucked but the show was what I went for and damn was it good. I hope she doesn't blow up because I want her ticket prices to stay like this and I like the smaller venues but I want her to succeed and get her message across too. It's a hard life but that concert only made me fall more in love with her vision and her vibe.

paige.elaine14’s profile image

The energy was so crazy and positive, Kehlani brought the house down and this was easily one of my absolute favorite concerts of all time. Not only was she amazing, but the special guests she brought out like Mahalia, were awesome as well. Her DJ Noodles got the crowd so hype with the dope mixes that she was playing. Definitely a night to remember, and an artist to look out for in the future.

This Show was the BOMB!!! Went with my Best Friend, and like from start to finish, it was cool. I mean everybody was vibing, there was a lot of love, and it was just real dope. Shoutout to Ella Mai from London, Jahkoi, and hometown local Lexi Allijai, Definitely one of the best concerts I've had the pleasure of attending!

jupitersunrahz’s profile image

It was such a great concert! There was never a dull moment and she had us singing on the top of our lungs! She performed very well and on top of that she was giving us all advice on how we should view ourselves as young men and women and that's very inspiring. She's truly a role model and it was one to remember.

The European leg of the Blue Water Road tour begins in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Thursday, Nov. 17. Visit Kehlani.com/tour for additional information.

Kehlani’s Blue Water Road LP , which features appearances from Justin Bieber, Syd and Jessie Reyez, debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart . The new release deviates into an unapologetically happier space compared to previous releases, the 27-year-old recording artist explained in a recent interview with NME .

“I lost my passion for a while,” admitted Kehlani. “I feel like there’s an erosion of an artist that happens in the music industry – you just get less and less shiny and really dull. I got really dull for a while and now I’m back feeling everything and expressing myself again. It’s pretty priceless.”

Danielle Chelosky

Kehlani just recently released their new album Blue Water Road , the follow-up to the 2020 LP It Was Good Until It Wasn’t . Kehlani Schedules Extensive North American Tour Supporting ‘Blue Water Road’

  • By Larisha Paul

Larisha Paul

Kehlani is hitting the road for an extensive, 28-city tour for the singer’s recently released third studio album, Blue Water Road.

Kehlani will perform the tour’s opening show on July 30 at Raleigh, North Carolina’s Red Hat Amphitheater before wrapping in the fall with a final show at Honolulu, Hawaii’s Waikiki Shell on October 21. The stops in between include shows in Atlanta, New York, Cincinnati, Detroit, Toronto, Dallas, San Diego, Portland, Oakland, and more.

Rico Nasty will join as opener for the North American leg with Destin Conrad, who will support for the entirety of the tour, including European dates. General sale for the Blue Water Road tour will begin on Friday, May 20 at 10 a.m. local time via the official Kehlani website.

The 28-stop tour is set to be a translation of the multi-dimensional journey Kehlani explores on the record itself. In a statement about the album, they said: “Blue Water Road is a destination in my mind. I’m giving everyone access. It’s an emotional journey, a sexual journey, and a spiritual journey. To me, the album is like a glass house. It’s light, transparent, and the sun is shining right through it.”

Kehlani: blue water road

With the recent release of her third studio album 'Blue Water Road' Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Kehlani is hitting the road in support. The 28-city tour launches in July and will see Kehlani zig-zagging across the country on what she describes as an exploration of a multi-dimensional journey including emotional, sexual and spiritual.

Hailed by critics as Kehlani's most mature and challenging album yet. With steaminess and eagerness to bet it all on love, Kehlani has never sounded more comfortable in her own skin than on this brand new album.

Kehlani announces tour

Just before May arrived, Kehlani unveiled their third studio LP Blue Water Road , which contained 13 songs and additional appearances from Syd, Blxst, Justin Bieber , Jessie Reyez, Ambré, and Thundercat. The project also saw a top 20 placement on the Billboard 200 following its first week of release.

Just yesterday (May 16), Kehlani took to social media to officially announce their tour in promotion of the album. Dubbed the “Blue Water Road Trip,” said tour will see the singer touching down in both North America and Europe (including the UK), with dates that span across much of the second half of 2022. In addition, they’ll be joined by Rico Nasty and Destin Conrad throughout.

Shortly after the release of Blue Water Road , Kehlani opened up about their feelings on the album, specifically in regards to its reception given both the change in content and how it reflects their life now:

“ i was nervous for all the shifts going into this album. damn no obvious sex songs? nothing extremely toxic? my life is perfectly peaceful, arguably less interesting than usual? i don’t sing about MENZ no more? no more performing for an arguably large part of my typical audience? BUT… this album did exactly what i wanted it to do. my best critical acclaim, compliments on my risk taking.. my growth.. my peace. i didn’t play by any of THE rules this time.”

Kehlani Confirms FLO Will Be Supporting Their Forthcoming Tour For 'CRASH'

Kehlani is hitting the road in promotion of their most recent album, CRASH . Although the artist hasn’t formally announced the dates, they confirmed that FLO will be joining as a supporting act on Friday (June 28).

On Twitter, a fan revealed that the “Can I” singer let the news slip during their London listening experience for the project. “Drunk spilling the beans, but one of my openers is FLO, and I am so excited, and we had a time [last night],” Kehlani responded.

“Six years later, at the same venue [where] I went to see [them] perform, [they] announce this. [I’m crying]. That’s a bad b**ch of a full circle. God is good,” FLO singer Stella reacted. Meanwhile, group member Renée wrote, “FLO AND KEHLANI ON TOUR. Be there or be square.”

Monday (July 1) will mark Kehlani’s last of three release parties for CRASH in Europe. It’s expected to take place in Paris, preceded by a stop in Amsterdam on Saturday (June 29).

“We made this album in many cities, from sun up ’til sundown, each creator crafting out of pure joy, passion, and the hunger to carefully craft a new sound. We didn’t know what to call this album, what genre it was, where it would land,” the artist shared about the LP earlier in the month. “A crash, in any form, is the peak height [of] the moment. It isn’t the anxiety of the before or the lament after. It is the ever-so-imperative present.”

“ CRASH is HERE. At my most free, most fun, most loud, most fueled so far. Thank you to everyone who stayed up ’til morning, traveled to every city [and] everyone who took a passport stamp for me,” they continued.

The project arrived with guest appearances from Jill Scout, Young Miko, and Omah Lay as well as pre-release singles “After Hours” and “Next 2 U.”
