Frequently asked questions about 3D virtual tour listings.

How long does it take to scan a 360º virtual tour ?

It’s not as long as you would imagine. Depending on the size of your house it can take anywhere between 1-3 hours. (avg. is about 2 hours for a 2500 sqft home).

What is the process?

First your house or office has to be cleaned before we can scan it. The nicer it looks, the better the outcome of the virtual tour!

All animals need to be put away in crates or if possible leave the house for the time being. Then we will go and scan your home. We recommend for you not to be there while scanning because our camera is very sensitive and can get thrown off if items are moved even just the slightest. Each scan takes about 2-5 minutes and we will take anywhere between 50-100+ scans depending on the size of the property. The 3D scan and photos will take anywhere between 24-72 hours to be fully processed and available to you.

We will send you the link to the VR tour, and photos once processing is complete.

After that you’re ready to list the property! The listing will stay hosted online until it has been sold.

Why having a virtual tour?

Having the 24/7 online access available is key!

A proper virtual tour will highlight all the rooms and spaces of your house, store, museum for an instant 24/7 access. A visitor will be able to navigate on their own and move from one room to another, go to all the floors and check out every detail of the property.

Plus, you will be able to include information points where a person can click to get details or watch a video. This means that you can inform the viewer of anything regarding any features or areas of the property.

What is the Dollhouse View?

Dollhouse View lets you zoom out and see a 3D digital twin of your property from the outside and that you can rotate along any axis to see it from any perspective. You’ll be able  to get the big picture of your space.

Can you shoot outside as well?

The easy answer is YES. But it depends!

Weather permitted, and also surroundings. For example, if your backyard/front yard doesn’t have a lot of movement/street/cars passing by, then yes. It would not work well if there are moving objects.

What type of camera do we use? We are all about high quality and fast results when creating virtual tours. Our camera shoots at a professional grade image resolution of 134 MP + 3D depth data. Therefore our services are great for professionals in real estate marketing, construction, and insurance industries who need high accuracy paired with high image resolution, and fast capture speeds.

Can you directly work with HomeAway or any other real estate services?

Yes… We do have a few sites that we can integrate with if you have the listing HTML, However, if your listing isn’t on one of the sites below, we can send over a link to your tour, or an embedded HTML code.

Here’s a list of websites that we can integrate with:

– HomeAway.com

– Realtor.com

– Homes.com

What are some things we can do to prepare before a scan?

For a successful scan, we recommend the house be fully staged, or completely  empty, nothing in between.

We will not need anyone present unless they are there to open the door and lock up. Otherwise, we generally would need a key/code to access.

Here are more specific items to address:

  • Turn on all the lighting in every room.
  • All blinds needs to be lowered and opened to bring day light in
  • Vacuum/mop floors so they look amazingly new
  • Wipe down any countertops in bathroom/kitchen
  • Wipe down all external parts of appliances (we do not take internal appliance photos)
  • Fluff all pillows and have them preset
  • Clean toilets and set lid down
  • Make sure all beds are made
  • Turn off Any moving parts (fans, etc)
  • Make sure all curtains are pulled to the side
  • Remove any personal name/photos that you do not want public
  • Hide trashcans
  • Remove mats (kitchen/bathroom)
  • Remove clutter from interior of the house into a closet or pantry. (we will only take interior photos of master closet)
  • Remove flags or signs
  • Mow the lawn and trim the edges, also bushes
  • Blow the driveway for any leaves/grass
  • Make sure cars are parked away from home

We can create VR - virtual reality 360º tours in most areas: El Paso, Las Cruces, Tucson, Phoenix, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Midland/Odessa, and so much more!  Contact us to book your appointment for scanning.

A Robot Built Their Homes: Texas Homebuyers Moving Into World’s Largest-Scale 3D-Printed Community

When Lawrence Nourzad began his house hunt in Austin, TX , he did not expect to end up in a home built by a robot.

The Austin native, 32, had long been eyeing condos near the city’s downtown area. At one point, he even put a deposit down on an under-construction unit in the St. Elmo Arts District, an up-and-coming hub for nightlife and dining.

But construction delays disrupted those plans. Faced with the high costs of continuing to rent, Nourzad and his girlfriend, Angela Hontas , 29, turned their gaze toward Wolf Ranch, an innovative new development north of the city.

Built by Austin-based construction technology firm Icon in collaboration with homebuilder Lennar, Wolf Ranch is the largest-scale development of 3D-printed homes in the world.

The 100-home development, about 30 miles north of downtown Austin, was constructed by a fleet of Icon’s Vulcan 3D printing robots, which pour thin strips of concrete to build walls layer by layer.

“Our plan was to stay urban in Austin for all the cultural reasons, and our friends live pretty centrally,” says Nourzad. But after learning about Wolf Ranch through the civil engineering firm where he works in business development, he was hooked.

“I did one model home tour, and that was pretty much it,” he said in a recent video interview. “I was on board and kind of sold.”

Earlier this year, Nourzad and Hontas closed on a 1,977-square-foot Jorn model in Wolf Ranch, paying about $487,000. With 20% down and the help of a mortgage rate buy-down from the builder, their payments are about $2,300 a month, far less than they had budgeted for an upscale apartment rental in Austin.

“It’s really exciting to be at the forefront of the change, the revolution, and we see our neighbors going viral on TikTok just shooting a little content of their homes,” says Nourzad. “The world is so curious about these changes that are coming, and we feel lucky and very stimulated to be the lab rats in a way.”

How does Icon 3D print homes?

In 2018, Icon co-founder and CEO Jason Ballard unveiled the company’s first 3D-printed home, a modest 650-square-foot, single-story house, at Austin’s South by Southwest festival.

Since then, the company’s technology and output have expanded by leaps and bounds. Ballard believes that as it scales up, Icon has the potential to alleviate the housing shortage crisis by deploying fleets of its robots across the country to build homes faster and cheaper than traditional methods.

Icon says it has built more than 140 homes so far, using a home-sized robotic printer known as the Vulcan. Using a nozzle mounted between a pair of gantries, the Vulcan builds interior and exterior walls by pouring hundreds of layers of specialized concrete, like soft-serve ice cream from a dispenser.

The concrete is mixed on-site and fed to the Vulcan from another automated system, which Icon calls Magma. Software guides the process, enabling the operator to load a home floor plan that controls the printing process.

The Vulcan can build walls up to 10.5 feet tall, across a surface area of up to 3,800 square feet, according to the company’s specs.

The system can run around the clock in fair weather, and a 2,000-square-foot home takes about a week to print, Icon Chief Operating Officer Graeme Waitzkin said at a conference in Austin last month.

Currently, Icon’s construction costs are roughly comparable with those for traditional wall systems, but the company hopes to bring costs down as it grows, Waitzkin said.

Earlier this year, Icon unveiled its next-generation 3D printer, the Phoenix . With its nozzle mounted on a single articulated arm rising from a ground platform, the Phoenix can print multistory walls up to 27 feet high.

The Phoenix requires only a single operator, who can be remote or on-site. Icon charges $25 per square foot for wall-system projects using the Phoenix, or $80 for projects including foundation and roof.

In an interview with Realtor.com at Icon’s showcase model home in Austin, House Zero, Waitzkin said that the company is focused on building homes, rather than selling or licensing its advanced technology.

“We see ourselves as a technology-powered builder,” said Waitzkin. The company believes it is the best route to get 3D-printed homes on the market quickly and gain broad acceptance from homebuyers.

What’s it like to live in Wolf Ranch?

Nourzad, the recent Wolf Ranch homebuyer, says he and his girlfriend are thrilled with their new home about a month after moving in.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom home features an open floor plan, with the kitchen connected to the dining and living areas beneath a vaulted ceiling.

A long hallway off the main living space leads to the primary bedroom, with two guest bedrooms along the corridor.

“There’s something very hospitable about it, almost like the hotel experience with the long hallway,” says Nourzad. The open living space “flows from your afternoon to evening” and is great for hosting.

Nourzad was also impressed that the Icon-Lennar homes in Wolf Ranch were co-designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, the renowned architectural firm that designed The Spiral and West 57 in Manhattan.

The homes’ concrete-printed walls could be plastered over for a more traditional look, though most buyers opt to leave them bare. The subtle ribbing on the walls and the lack of any right angles give the homes a space-age desert look, like something from Tatooine in “Star Wars.”

Nourzad says that he’s found few drawbacks with the innovative construction system, noting that the thick concrete walls help keep energy bills low in the sweltering Texas summer.

Hanging artwork on the walls simply requires masonry screws, and for larger objects, there’s no need to find a stud. And in the event of a natural disaster, the home’s fortress walls are reassuring, says Nourzad.

tour 3d casas

“For the price point we’re at and what we could spend, having a monolithic cement structure is a very cozy, comforting feeling,” he says. “It’s a little comforting knowing that it’d be a rather quick rebuild should a small tornado touch down and take the roof.”

Lennar’s Austin division president Charlie Coleman told Realtor.com that so far, the company is “pleased” with the interest from homebuyers.

“Aesthetically, there’s nothing like these homes. They have a unique look and feel. Although they’re made by a machine, the homes are warm and inviting—and there’s a lot of curiosity,” he said in an email.

Coleman declined to comment on any specific plans to collaborate with Icon on future developments, but says Lennar views the relationship as “long-term.”

Meanwhile, Icon’s Ballard has announced ambitious plans to take the company’s 3D printing technology to the moon and beyond.

In 2022, the company was awarded a nearly $60 million NASA grant to research and develop space-based construction systems to support an eventual sustained human presence on the moon.

“In the future, I believe robots and drones will build entire neighborhoods, towns, and cities, and we’ll look back at Lennar’s Wolf Ranch community as the place where robotic construction at scale began,” Ballard said in a statement.

“We still have a long way to go, but I believe this marks a very exciting and hopeful turn in the way we address housing issues in the world.”

Vacation rental virtual tour FAQ

Which booking platforms feature vacation home tours.

Vacasa.com features virtual tours for many of its homes. Vrbo also allows homeowners to easily add a virtual reality tour to their home’s listing. And it’s even easier if you manage with Vacasa: Our experienced team will create and manage your home’s Vrbo listing for you .

How much do people charge for a virtual tour?

Professional vacation rental virtual tours can cost hundreds of dollars to create. And as you might expect, higher-quality virtual tours tend to be more expensive than those shot with a phone camera.

At Vacasa, we cover the cost of your vacation rental’s virtual tour and professional photographs when you partner with us for full-service management .

Does Airbnb support Matterport tours?

At this time, Airbnb does not integrate 3D virtual home tours into its rental property listings. There are some work-arounds: Consider linking to a tour in your home’s description or including a QR code in your listing’s images.

How long does the process take?

The process to create a virtual tour depends on the size of your home. A studio apartment virtual tour might take less than an hour to create, while a 4,000-square-foot lodge could require significantly more time.

She just moved into a neighborhood of 3D printed homes in Texas — see what it's like inside

  • Daniella Glaeze documents her 3D printed home on TikTok, amassing millions of views.
  • Icon and Lennar are building a community of 100 3D printed houses just north of Austin.
  • The homes, made with "lavacrete" and featuring biophilic designs, offer energy efficiency.

Insider Today

3D printed houses may sound like they're from a future filled with hoverboards and holograms. But for Daniella Glaeze, she's already living it.

Glaeze began documenting her 3D printed home on TikTok shortly after moving into it in April. Her videos showing off the futuristic concrete house have garnered several million views — and questions.

"I'm definitely excited to bring some of this content to viewers and anyone interested in seeing the process and how these homes work," Glaeze told Business Insider.

"Homes," plural, because it's not just their house — it's a whole neighborhood. 3D printing construction startup Icon teamed up with home construction giant Lennar to build a community of 100 3D printed houses , called the Wolf Ranch, just north of Austin.

According to Icon, 95 of the homes already have their wall systems printed and all 100 are expected to be complete by 2025, but residents like Glaeze have already begun to move in.

First-time homeowners Glaeze and her husband, who are both software engineers, became interested after seeing some of these houses on TikTok.

"We're both in tech, so we know the type of engineering and innovation that goes into creating something like this, so we were really intrigued," Glaeze said.

The homes are built using a massive gantry-style printer, called the Vulcan Construction System, which spans 45.5 feet wide and 15.5 feet tall.

In one TikTok with over 4 million views, Glaeze toured her home, which has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a garage. Several commenters were worried about the potential of grime settling in the ribbed wall ridges, one writing, "I can't stop thinking about all the dust that would collect on the walls."

However, Glaeze reassured that despite the unmistakable grooves, she had yet to encounter any dust build-up. She said that a wipe or handheld vacuum has gotten the job done.

"The ridges on the wall are not like little shelves, they're very thin," she said. "Even if dust were to collect, I don't think it'd be very noticeable, and the walls are very easy to clean, honestly."

The simple solution seemed to be mirrored in most of her responses to other questions people brought up. Yes, you can hang things on the wall using a concrete bit. Yes, you can paint the walls with an airbrush. And yes, you can make the walls flat by sanding or using plaster.

"The walls are the only thing that are concrete and printed in the foundation," Glaeze said. "Everything else, like the electricity, the roof, the doors — they're all like a traditional home."

In fact, the only issue she has come across has been a spotty WiFi connection due to the thick concrete material, which she has combated with a WiFi booster.

So why print your home?

"My favorite thing about living in a 3D printed house is really the aesthetic," Glaeze said. "I think it's really cool; it's something new that's also different and innovative. "

Icon, which codesigned the homes with architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group, told Business Insider that aside from added structural support, 3D printing offers architectural freedom that would be far more expensive with traditional construction. They particularly lean into biophilic designs that include more organic forms with rounded edges and curves, the company said.

Glaze said she loves how the curved walls make "the whole house feel very seamless and clean" and has been experimenting with different light fixtures that "reflect really cool with the layers."

"It's really cool to see how people get creative with decorating the home," she said. "I have a neighbor who's playing with different light and textures and abstract art that pops off the walls."

Glaeze also said the thick concrete material, dubbed "lavacrete" by Icon, is not only well-insulated to keep temperatures cool against the Texas heat, but has also been "really sturdy" against rainstorms and outside noise.

"They have a lot of drills and heavy machinery outside, and I don't hear anything," she said. "I am sensitive to super loud sounds so being in this house is so quiet and so peaceful."

Icon said its wall systems had been tested against hurricane standard winds and also announced in March a new formulation of lavacrete called CarbonX, a lower carbon emission cement material that will be used for the remaining wall systems.

3D printing promises to be cheaper — soon

While one of Glaeze's biggest incentives for moving in was the house's "really good interest rate," the actual price is pretty on par with other properties in the area.

Since the homes in this neighborhood are being sold by Lennar, their pricing is dictated by the current market, Icon said. According to the company's website , the homes range from $425,000 to $585,000.

However, Icon said that homeowners have reported lower lifecycle costs and utility bills due to higher energy efficiencies. It also said 3D printing offers lower construction costs and faster development.

According to the company, its robotic system typically requires two people to operate, and each wall system in Wolf Ranch took, on average, two weeks to complete.

"One thing that Icon told me is they do want to combat the housing crisis," Glaeze said. "They want to have more affordable and efficient homes."

Keegan Bradley announced as U.S. Ryder Cup Team captain for 2025

Will lead americans on home soil at bethpage black in 2025.

Change Text Size

In an unexpected move, the PGA of America tabbed Keegan Bradley to captain the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup Team.

A six-time PGA TOUR winner, Bradley has played in two Ryder Cups and one Presidents Cup. He is 4-3-0 in his two Ryder Cup appearances in 2012 and 2014 and 2-2-1 at the 2013 Presidents Cup. He has never been an assistant captain or captain for either event.

Bradley, 39 at the time of next year’s Ryder Cup, will be the youngest Ryder Cup captain since 34-year-old Arnold Palmer was a playing captain in 1963.

“I am incredibly honored to accept this opportunity to captain the United States Team at the 2025 Ryder Cup,” said Bradley in a statement released Monday. “I would like to thank the PGA of America Ryder Cup Committee for their trust in me as we embark on this journey to Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York.

“My passion and appreciation for golf’s greatest team event have never been stronger. The Ryder Cup is unlike any other competition in our sport, and this edition will undoubtedly be particularly special given the rich history and enthusiastic spectators at this iconic course. I look forward to beginning preparations for 2025.”

It’s a full circle moment for Bradley, who was in consideration for a captain’s pick on the 2023 Ryder Cup but was controversially left off the team. He ranked 11th in the points list, ahead of eventual picks Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth. Bradley was last a part of the 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles in Scotland and famously has not unpacked his suitcase from that week. Bradley will get his Ryder Cup redemption after all, but likely not in the role he imagined. He will return to Bethpage Black, where he played often as a collegiate golfer at St. John’s University in New York City. The course superintendent allowed the team to play Mondays when the course is closed.

The Monday announcement was surprising, given much of the discourse about the vacant U.S. captainship centered around Tiger Woods. Woods, an eight-time Ryder Cup participant, was long presumed to be the frontrunner for the position and publicly acknowledged there were discussions with the PGA of America on the possibility.

“We're still working on what that might look like,” Woods said at the PGA Championship in May. “Also whether or not I have the time to do it. I'm dedicating so much time to what we're doing with the PGA TOUR, I don't want to not fulfill the role of the captaincy if I can't do it.”

Bradley’s captainship signals a departure from PGA of America’s traditional selection process. Bradley is both younger and less experienced than recent captains Zach Johnson, Jim Furyk and Davis Love III, who all spent at least one Ryder Cup as an assistant captain.

Perhaps it’s just the jolt the U.S. Team needed after suffering a 16.5-11.5 loss to the Europeans last fall at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club. If nothing else, Bradley will certainly bring the passion.
