  • Elk tornooi duurt 1 of 2 weken
  • Met specifieke aanpassingen bij de U9 en U11

Reeksindelingen 2021.

Ethias Tennis Tour Junior ranking.

  Eindronde Ethias Tennis Tour Junior.

Real Madrid vs. Borussia Dortmund prediction, odds: 2024 UEFA Champions League final picks from top expert

Jon eimer has locked in his uefa champions league final picks and best bets for saturday's borussia dortmund vs. real madrid match.

rodrygo-getty-images-cbs.jpg

Reigning La Liga champion Real Madrid look to add to their record number of championships in the competition when they face German Bundesliga's Borussia Dortmund in the 2023-24 UEFA Champions League final on Saturday. Real Madrid have captured 14 UCL titles, twice as many as the next closest club (AC Milan), and won each of their last eight appearances in the final. Los Blancos, who defeated Bayern Munich in the semifinals, are riding unbeaten streaks of 12 games in the UCL (8-4-0) and 25 games across all competitions (16-9-0). Borussia Dortmund got past PSG to reach the final for the third time in team history and first since 2013.

Kickoff at Wembley Stadium in London is set for 3 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+ . Los Blancos are -165 favorites (risk $165 to win $100) on the 90-minute money line in the latest Real Madrid vs. Borussia Dortmund odds, while the BVB are +425 underdogs. A 90-minute draw is priced at +300 and the over/under for total goals scored is 2.5. Real Madrid are -333 to lift the trophy, while Dortmund are +425. Before locking in any Borussia Dortmund vs. Real Madrid picks, you need to see what proven SportsLine soccer insider Jon "Buckets" Eimer has to say .

Eimer is a high-volume bettor who has vast knowledge of leagues and players across the globe. Since joining SportsLine, he has covered the English Premier League, Serie A, the FA Cup and much more. In 2023, he was red-hot, going 248-234-12 for a profit of $2,593 for $100 bettors. That included an 86-59-5 record in the Premier League for a $3,463 profit. Anybody following saw big returns.

Now, Eimer has broken down Real Madrid vs. Borussia Dortmund from every angle and revealed his picks and UEFA Champions League predictions. You can head to SportsLine now to see Eimer's picks . Here are the betting lines and trends for Borussia Dortmund vs. Real Madrid:

  • Real Madrid vs. Borussia Dortmund 90-minute money line: Los Blancos -165, BVB +425, Draw +300
  • Real Madrid vs. Borussia Dortmund over/under: 2.5 goals
  • Real Madrid vs. Borussia Dortmund spread: Los Blancos -0.5 (-170)
  • RM: Los Blancos haven't lost since Jan. 18, a 4-2 setback against Atletico Madrid in the Round of 16 in the Copa del Rey
  • BD: The BVB won their only Champions League title in 1997, when they defeated Juventus
  • Real Madrid vs. Borussia Dortmund picks: See picks at SportsLine

Why you should back Real Madrid

Los Blancos have an array of offensive weapons at their disposal, as four members of the club have recorded four or more goals during Champions League play. Spanish striker Joselu and Brazilian forwards Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior share fifth place in the competition with five tallies apiece, while midfielder Jude Bellingham  -- who spent three seasons with Dortmund before joining Real Madrid for the 2023-24 campaign -- has converted four times. The 23-year-old Junior also is tied for first in the UCL with five assists.

Joselu, who scored 10 goals during the La Liga season -- his first with Los Blancos, converted twice in the latter stages of the second leg of the UCL semifinal tie against Bayern Munich to erase a 1-0 deficit and propel the club into the final. The 34-year-old also registered a brace in a 3-2 triumph over Union Berlin in Real Madrid's group-stage finale. Junior netted both tallies in the 2-2 draw with Bayern in the first leg of the semis, while Rodrygo converted in both quarterfinal contests against Manchester City .  See which team to pick here .

Why you should back Borussia Dortmund

The BVB have posted a clean sheet in half of their 12 Champions League matches, including both legs of their semifinal tie against PSG after being outscored by the Parisians 3-1 in their two group-stage meetings. Swiss goalkeeper Gregor Kobel recorded all six of the shutouts to rank first in the UCL and also leads the competition with 42 saves. Meanwhile, forward Niclas Fullkrug grabbed the club lead in goals in the tournament when he scored his third in a 1-0 triumph over PSG in the first leg of the semis.

The 31-year-old Fullkrug, who finished second on the BVB during the Bundesliga season with 12 tallies, also converted in a 4-2 victory against Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the UCL quarterfinals. Wingers Julian Brandt and Karim Adeyemi and midfielder Marco Reus all have recorded two goals for Dortmund in the competition, while defender Mats Hummels netted his first tally in the second leg of the semifinals to give the club a 1-0 win and punch its ticket to the final. Austrian midfielder Marcel Sabitzer also has converted once in the UCL but is tied with Vinicius Junior for the tournament lead with five assists.  See which team to pick here .

Golfer Lexi Thompson is retiring at age 29. It was time

PHOENIX, ARIZONA - MARCH 29: Lexi Thompson of the United States looks on during the second round of the Ford Championship presented by KCC at Seville Golf and Country Club on March 29, 2024 in Phoenix, Arizona. (Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty Images)

LANCASTER, Pa. — It’s not often you see “age 29” and “retirement” appear in the same sentence. However, for Lexi Thompson, the unconventional conjunctions of these true statements have been forming for quite some time.

On Tuesday at the U.S. Women’s Open, the moment arrived . It was time for Thompson to let the looming decision — the one in which she finally accepted a harsh reality about her life and happiness — escape her inner circle’s confines. Thompson was transparent in revealing this wasn’t an abrupt choice. She knew her fans wouldn’t buy that. It wasn’t injury-related. It didn’t have anything to do with the current state of her golf game. After nearly two decades in the spotlight, it was simply time for Thompson to step away from the sport that shaped her existence and identity.

“I’m not going to sit here and say it hasn’t crossed my mind in past years,” Thompson said at Lancaster Country Club, where she’ll play her 18th U.S. Women’s Open this week. “But I feel like I’m at a point in my life where it is time to step away from a full-time schedule.”

Thompson said she isn’t exactly sure what her next chapter will look like, but after this season, she will no longer be flying across the globe to compete on the LPGA Tour for 25 weeks out of the year. She’ll finish the remainder of her summer schedule, hoping to qualify for her seventh U.S. Solheim Cup team. She’ll launch an exercise app called Lexi Fitness. And she left the door open for playing sporadic events. But the nonstop professional golf grind is over for Thompson. That life doesn’t align with who she is anymore. Perhaps it never did.

“I don’t think a lot of people realize I’ve been out here since I was 15 years old,” Thompson said. “I’ve known only professional golf life and junior golf, amateur golf, being on the road. But I’ve thought about it the last few years, but it never was the right time for me. Now, where I’m at today and still the goals I want to accomplish the rest of this year, I’m super fired up about that, and I just want to enjoy every walk that I have out there.”

Lexi getting emotional talking about stepping away from the pro game — says it can be lonely sometimes. She doesn’t want a “pity party” but says golfers are “not perfect.” She thanks her support system for getting her through some very tough times. pic.twitter.com/PVLlj6tM4u — Gabby Herzig (@GabbyHerzig) May 28, 2024

Every time the U.S. Women’s Open rolls around, much is made of Thompson’s mind-boggling resume at the longest-running major in the women’s game.

Sporting a pink visor and polka-dot skirt, Thompson first played in this championship in 2007 as a sixth-grader, the youngest player to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open. She qualified again in 2008 and 2009, when she made her first cut in the event. Thompson was a professional by age 15. She won for the first time on tour at 16. She lifted trophies eight more times in her first six years with the LPGA, including at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in 2014, her only major championship victory. She won two events on the LPGA Tour from 2018 to 2019. Eleven career victories shine on Thompson’s record, but there has always been more to her story.

To this day, Thompson lives firmly in the spotlight, not just in the women’s golf world but in the community of the sport on a global scale. Thompson graces the covers of magazines and smiles next to Rickie Fowler for Cobra photo shoots. She signs hundreds of autographs every time she tees it up, in recent years enlisting her mother, Judy, to carry extra hats and gloves to pass out to young fans after her rounds. The Coral Springs, Fla., native is a main attraction each time she appears at a tournament, no matter how poorly she’s hitting the ball.

But behind her smile and colorful Puma outfits, Thompson always seemed to carry a weight around with her — a heavy one.

She was crushed when a fan called into the 2017 ANA Inspiration to notify rules officials that Thompson had incorrectly replaced her ball after marking it on the green. A four-shot penalty cost her the tournament and prompted a change in the rules. On Tuesday, Thompson called it the “hardest moment of her career.” In 2018, she stepped away from the public eye and momentarily left pro golf to “recharge” her “mental batteries.” In 2021 she held a five-shot lead heading into the back nine of the U.S. Women’s Open at The Olympic Club in San Francisco but lost when her putter failed her with a back-nine 41.

ethias tennis tour junior ranking

Thompson did not shy away from revealing that those low moments — and the resulting criticism surrounding them — have played a role in her decision to take a step away. She broke down when asked about the intermittent struggles she worked so hard to overcome.

“I just think — especially with what’s happened in golf, as of recent too — a lot of people don’t realize a lot of what we go through as a professional athlete,” Thompson said. “I’ll be the last one to say, like, throw me a pity party. That’s the last thing I want. We’re doing what we love. We’re trying our best every single day. You know, we’re not perfect. We’re humans. Words hurt.

“It’s hard to overcome sometimes. But having the people around you that love you and support you, I feel like that’s been the biggest thing for me. I might not have a huge friend group, but to have the people that matter the most around me (has) gotten me through some really hard times.”

One of those difficult times came around the beginning of 2023 when Thompson revealed she had injured her wrist while prepping for the upcoming season. She took time to herself that winter, spending much-needed off weeks with family and friends but training harder than ever before, leading to the injury. Thompson gave a hopeful news conference at The Chevron Championship, but the season didn’t go as planned. She missed cut after cut, plummeting in the LPGA rankings, and was soon in danger of losing her tour card just weeks ahead of her favorite event on the schedule: the Solheim Cup. United States captain Stacy Lewis picked her for the match-play event regardless and promised the team environment could enliven her game.

It did. The U.S. team didn’t win the biennial competition — Europe retained the Cup after a 14-14 tie — but Thompson went 3-1 in her matches and was momentarily resurgent. She followed it up with three consecutive top-10 finishes on tour to keep her card. In October she became the seventh woman to tee it up in a PGA Tour event and nearly made the cut, providing a thrilling performance with multiple 300-yard drives.

There’s still more out there for Thompson: major events to contend in, more PGA Tour playing opportunities even, and continuing to serve as an ambassador for the women’s game. Maybe some of it will still be for her. But not all of it. A retirement announcement at age 29 might be difficult to fathom, but for Thompson, it was already time.

Gagarin cup (khl) finals:  atlant moscow oblast vs. salavat yulaev ufa.

Much like the Elitserien Finals, we have a bit of an offense vs. defense match-up in this league Final.  While Ufa let their star top line of Alexander Radulov, Patrick Thoresen and Igor Grigorenko loose on the KHL's Western Conference, Mytischi played a more conservative style, relying on veterans such as former NHLers Jan Bulis, Oleg Petrov, and Jaroslav Obsut.  Just reaching the Finals is a testament to Atlant's disciplined style of play, as they had to knock off much more high profile teams from Yaroslavl and St. Petersburg to do so.  But while they did finish 8th in the league in points, they haven't seen the likes of Ufa, who finished 2nd.

This series will be a challenge for the underdog, because unlike some of the other KHL teams, Ufa's top players are generally younger and in their prime.  Only Proshkin amongst regular blueliners is over 30, with the work being shared by Kirill Koltsov (28), Andrei Kuteikin (26), Miroslav Blatak (28), Maxim Kondratiev (28) and Dmitri Kalinin (30).  Oleg Tverdovsky hasn't played a lot in the playoffs to date.  Up front, while led by a fairly young top line (24-27), Ufa does have a lot of veterans in support roles:  Vyacheslav Kozlov , Viktor Kozlov , Vladimir Antipov, Sergei Zinovyev and Petr Schastlivy are all over 30.  In fact, the names of all their forwards are familiar to international and NHL fans:  Robert Nilsson , Alexander Svitov, Oleg Saprykin and Jakub Klepis round out the group, all former NHL players.

For Atlant, their veteran roster, with only one of their top six D under the age of 30 (and no top forwards under 30, either), this might be their one shot at a championship.  The team has never won either a Russian Superleague title or the Gagarin Cup, and for players like former NHLer Oleg Petrov, this is probably the last shot at the KHL's top prize.  The team got three extra days rest by winning their Conference Final in six games, and they probably needed to use it.  Atlant does have younger regulars on their roster, but they generally only play a few shifts per game, if that.

The low event style of game for Atlant probably suits them well, but I don't know how they can manage to keep up against Ufa's speed, skill, and depth.  There is no advantage to be seen in goal, with Erik Ersberg and Konstantin Barulin posting almost identical numbers, and even in terms of recent playoff experience Ufa has them beat.  Luckily for Atlant, Ufa isn't that far away from the Moscow region, so travel shouldn't play a major role.

I'm predicting that Ufa, winners of the last Superleague title back in 2008, will become the second team to win the Gagarin Cup, and will prevail in five games.  They have a seriously well built team that would honestly compete in the NHL.  They represent the potential of the league, while Atlant represents closer to the reality, as a team full of players who played themselves out of the NHL.

  • Atlant @ Ufa, Friday Apr 8 (3:00 PM CET/10:00 PM EST)
  • Atlant @ Ufa, Sunday Apr 10 (1:00 PM CET/8:00 AM EST)
  • Ufa @ Atlant, Tuesday Apr 12 (5:30 PM CET/12:30 PM EST)
  • Ufa @ Atlant, Thursday Apr 14 (5:30 PM CET/12:30 PM EST)

Games 5-7 are as yet unscheduled, but every second day is the KHL standard, so expect Game 5 to be on Saturday, like an early start.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery and Museum

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

ethias tennis tour junior ranking

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

ethias tennis tour junior ranking

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

ethias tennis tour junior ranking

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

ethias tennis tour junior ranking

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

ethias tennis tour junior ranking

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

ethias tennis tour junior ranking

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)

<< Previous page

Pages:  379-406

In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E. Kilunovskaya and V. A. Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.

Keywords: Tuva, Early Iron Age, early Scythian period, Aldy-Bel culture, barrow, burial in the coffin, mummy, full genome sequencing, aDNA
