Ladies European Tour 2022 record-breaking schedule announced

Christmas has come early as the Ladies European Tour announce a record-breaking 2022 schedule. Here are all the details...
The 2022 Ladies European Tour (LET) season is set to present the greatest number of tournaments and prize money in the organisation’s 44-year history. Thanks to the support of new and long-term partners, LET members will compete for a minimum of €24.5 million across 31 events in 2022. The total annual purse is up €4.5m on 2021 and offers €13m more than in 2019.
LET CEO Alexdra Armas said:
“On the back of a strong 2021 season, which featured 23 tournaments, 2022 is going to be a record-breaking year for the LET with the largest total purse and number of events in history. We will be launching new events in Asia and South Africa and returning to various territories across Europe and further afield, so it’s looking very exciting for our international membership.
“We have never had such incredible support from partners across the industry and corporations who see the value in investing in the LET. Our players continue to set new performance standards. For example, this year’s Race to Costa del Sol winner, Atthaya Thitikul, reached No.18 on the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, an amazing achievement which shows what is possible by playing on the LET. The victorious European Solheim Cup Team did women’s golf proud in Toledo, Ohio, winning for only the second time in the United States. We are thankful to all of our partners as we move into the third year of our successful joint-venture partnership with the LPGA.”
LET 2022 schedule
The 2022 season will open with the return of the Magical Kenya Ladies Open in February, followed by the Aramco Team Series – Asia. The Joburg Ladies Open will debut in Spring, joining the Investec South African Women’s Open, which will move to Steenberg Golf Club in Cape Town, as part of a fortnight in South Africa. The LET will then return to Australia for a two-week swing with the Australian Ladies Classic Bonville and the Women’s New South Wales Open at Coolangatta & Tweed Heads Golf Club.
Europe will play host to 19 tournaments from May to September, with the return of the Madrid Ladies Open, The Mithra Belgian Open and the Women’s Irish Open.
On the announcement of a return to Ireland, Golf Ireland CEO Mark Kennelly said he was delighted to see the event on the LET schedule:
“Today’s news is an early Christmas present for golf fans in Ireland. We have been working behind the scenes with the LET and Sport Ireland since early this year hoping for today’s news to become reality. I would like to thank both organisations for the work done behind the scenes that has led us to today’s announcement and we look forward to further details early next year.
“2021 has been a historic year for Women’s golf in Ireland in the professional and amateur ranks. We hope the return of the Women’s Irish Open will continue to inspire the next generation.”

Scandinavian Mixed is back
Of the tournament run in Europe, the highlights will include the Scandinavian Mixed hosted by Henrik and Annika at Halmstad Golf Club, the Aramco Team Series – London and the Aramco Team Series - Sotogrande.
The mid-summer European swing will feature two major championships, starting with the Amundi Evian Championship in France in July. The first week in August, a fortnight later, will bring the much-awaited AIG Women’s Open, which will be played at Muirfield in Scotland for the first time, with an elevated purse of US$6.8 million.
The Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open , played during the week in between the majors, will offer an elevated purse of $2 million, up $500,000 on 2001.
The ISPS Handa World Invitational presented by Modest! Golf Management, played after the AIG Women’s Open, will be one of the most innovative events in world golf. Two tournaments, featuring men and women, play on the same courses at the same time for two equal prize funds of US$1.5 million.
In September, the Tour will visit two first-time venues: Ålands Golf Club for the Åland 100 Ladies Open and Barrière Golf Club in Deauville for the Lacoste Ladies Open de France.
Race to Costa del Sol enters third year
For the final quarter of the season, the LET revisits the United States, India, Dubai and Saudi Arabia for the Aramco Team Series – New York, Hero Women’s Indian Open, Dubai Moonlight Classic, Aramco Saudi Ladies International and Aramco Team Series – Jeddah, respectively.
The Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España will once again play host to the season-finale, with the €650,000 event deciding the season’s Race to Costa del Sol, which is back for a third year after Thailand’s Atthaya Thitikul topped the rankings in 2021. The ‘Race’ will offer a bonus pool of €250,000 between the top three finishers on the official rankings, with prizes of €125,000, €75,000 and €50,000 for the players who finish in first, second and third place.

About Ladies European Tour & Ladies European Tour Tickets
The Ladies European Tour is the professional women’s golf tour of Europe. Often known simply as the LET, it organises the women’s European golf calendar with upwards of 30 events held each year.
Although it is predominantly a European tour, it also includes events in the United States, Australia, and in countries across Asia and Africa, bringing together top players from around the world.
The LET organises the Solheim Cup when the event is held on European soil, and its majors are the Women’s British Open and the Evian Championship – it does not recognise the 3 major tournaments held in the United States, although its biggest stars will invariably compete in those events.
📜 Ladies European Tour History
The LET was founded in 1978 – professional women’s golf was slower to take hold in Europe than in the United States, where the LPGA Tour had been founded in 1950 – when the Women's Professional Golfers' Association (WPGA) branch formed as part of the Professional Golfers' Association of Great Britain and Ireland.
The Tour itself began the following year with a schedule comprised of 12 36-hole events plus several other tournaments including the Women’s British Open. However, the schedule was reduced to just 10 events by 1982 amid some early struggles, and in 1988 Tour members broke away to form an independent company, Women Professional Golfers' European Tour.
The company changed its name 10 years later to European Ladies' Professional Golf Association, before settling on the Ladies European Tour name in 2000. It has grown slowly and steadily in the decades since; it has particularly expanded in terms of events and prize money in recent years following partnerships with the LPGA Tour and DP World Tour.
💯 Ladies European Tour Format & Scoring
The LET season typically runs from February to December and offers a combined prize money total of more than €35 million. In addition to prize money, players competing on the Tour also earn Race to the Costa del Sol points.
The season concludes with the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España. The player with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the LET’s Number One, who shares a €250,000 bonus pool with the players who finish 2nd and 3rd.
Most events are held in the stroke play format, whereby the player with the lowest number of strokes across the tournament is the winner.
🎟️ Ladies European Tour Ticket Prices
Many Ladies European Tour events are free to enter with no ticket or pre-booking required, while those that do have tickets are typically inexpensive, so LET tournaments are a great way for golf enthusiasts or casual sports fans to see the action live without breaking the bank.
The most expensive events to attend are the biggest, i.e. the majors such as the Women’s British Open and the Evian Championship. Ticket prices are also determined by the ticket type you are purchasing, be it general admission (also known as Grounds or Gallery tickets) or hospitality packages where available.
Buy LET Tickets Without Fees – Koobit
On top of the regular prices, LET golf tickets can feature service, processing, or delivery fees which factor into the total cost. Koobit compares official and resale prices inclusive of fees from a range of suppliers across the ticket marketplace so you can buy tickets at the lowest price with fees included.
Koobit provides a handy price breakdown displaying both the base cost of a ticket and the fees on top to ensure you make an informed decision when you purchase tickets.
📅 Upcoming Ladies European Tour Season & Schedule
The LET season typically runs from February to December, with each tournament week usually consisting of either 3 or 4 rounds (Friday-Sunday or Thursday-Sunday), sometimes preceded by practice days or a Pro-Am.
In 2023, it begins on 2 February and ends on 26 November, starting with the Magical Kenya Ladies Open and ending with the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España.
❓ Ladies European Tour FAQ
How much are let tickets.
Many LET tickets are free to enter and do not require tickets or pre-booking at all. For those that do, daily tickets typically cost in the region of GBP £5 to £15 for general admission, although for majors like the Women’s British Open adults may pay up to £40.
Multi-day tickets typically offer a cost-saving per day, so if you plan on attending more than one day of an event then these can save you money.
Children and seniors are often entitled to free or discounted tickets too, so LET events can be affordable for the whole family to attend.
To help you easily find ticket options to suit your budget, Koobit compares prices for different viewing products, along with handy filters so you can refine your search.

How can I find parking for an LET event?

Poor organisation from the start! The "opening ceremony" was a shambles! Asking for more money to attend was an utter disgrace and no wonder it was empty! What was the Queen tribute all about? Cringe worthy. No buses from Estepona even though it was the nearest big town! Everything went from moneybags Marbella!
The course was ridiculous to walk and not well signposted and I got lost trying to find my way back to the Plaza (seating area and big screen)
First day I went I had my water taken off me and no food was allowed either so we had to buy ridiculously priced water and basic food. It was €4 for a small froth filled beer.
Hardly any shade or seating for the many fans tired from walking the hilly course.
The final day was boiling hot! Again hardly any shade and you had to PAY an upgrade to obtain a wooden seat that took 2 men hours to put into place. Which should have been done earlier in the day or night before. Loads of faffing about by staff moving chairs and large potted plants whilst we tried to watch the matches on the one screen in the entire venue
Had to leave early on the last day as we knew we wouldn't be able to get back due to lack of transport to Estepona.
Overall an expensive underwhelming experience! A cash cow for the organisers from start to finish.
The golf course was not at all fan friendly . It is a playing course not a walking course . No consideration for fans of all ages who spent a lot of money to support The Solheim Cup .
Relaxed atmosphere, reasonable amount of spectators, good food (fries, pizza), multiple points for refilling your waterbottle, sale of summer clothing at the golfclub
First and foremost: great to have the tournament in Holland. Information to spectators could be improved. F.i. more scorekeepers per flight, leaderboard, course-outlay also on paper instead of only online etc.
Well organised day, staff very very friendly. I would like to see clearer Leaderboards; the boards used were illegible from a distance. Is it possible to have electronic board that provide good visibility. We had to check the RTE site to see an up-to-date Leaderboard.
