Devprayag does not have its own airport or railway station. Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun and Rishikesh and Haridwar are the nearest airport and railway stations from Devprayag respectively. The place is also well connected through road from major cities of Uttarakhand.

The nearest airport from Devprayag is Jolly Grant Airport which is in Dehradun and is 89 km away from the town. From the airport, there are taxi and buses available for Devprayag.

The town does not have its own railway station. Thus, Rishikesh and Haridwar have the nearest railway stations from the town which are located at a distance of around 72 and 97 km away from Devprayag respectively. One has to take a taxi or bus from the two places to reach Devprayag.

Reaching Devprayag by this means of transport is easy. The town is well-connected with the cities and towns of Uttarakhand. Moreover, traveling by bus is the most economical means to reach Devprayag. Best Time To Visit

The best time to visit Kaudiyala is between September and June. The weather during these months is pleasant. This period is ideal for rafting and other outdoor activities. The monsoon season (July-August) is best avoided due to the risk of landslides and the suspension of rafting activities.

Getting There

Reaching Kaudiyala is convenient, with multiple travel options. The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, about 53 kilometers away, from where you can hire a taxi to Kaudiyala. The closest railway station is Rishikesh Railway Station, approximately 40 kilometres away, with regular taxis and buses available for the onward journey. By road, Kaudiyala is well-connected and lies on the Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway, making it a 1.5-hour drive from Rishikesh and around 3-4 hours from Dehradun.

The most efficient way to get to Dehradun is by air, with a travel time of approximately one hour. In October, the most inexpensive flight costs Rs.2,539. Alternatively, you can opt for a train journey, which typically takes between 5 to 10 hours. The fare for chair cars on different trains varies - Jan Shatabdi costs Rs.535 and takes 5 hours and 50 minutes, Shatabdi Express costs Rs.710 and takes 6 hours and 10 minutes, while Vande Bharat Express costs Rs.1,065 and takes 4 hours and 45 minutes. For other trains, 2A class fare starts at Rs.815. Another available option is to travel via cab or bus, with AC bus fares starting at Rs.521 on RedBus and a travel time of 6 to 8 hours. Cost by air: Rs.2,539; (Delhi-Dehradun, 1 hr) Cost by train: Rs.535 onwards (Chair car, 5-6 hrs)

Accommodation for less than Rs.1,500 per night is easy to find, while midrange options range from Rs.2,000 to Rs.5,000, and luxury accommodations in larger cities start at Rs.8,000 per night. Uttarakhandi cuisine consists of simple dishes made with local ingredients and spices, but pack a punch of flavour.
