Charlie Daniels, has been performing since the 1950s and is still going strong. He is a musician as well as a singer and songwriter, affiliated with country and southern rock music. I knew him from his number one country hit called 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia'. He actually co wrote a song that Elvis Presley recorded back in the day, called 'It Hurts Me', along with Joy Byers. Daniels won a Grammy Award for the Best Country Vocal Performance from 1979, the following year a song of his made it into a movie called 'Urban Cowboy', something that every musician must strive to achieve. The singer has also released several Gospel and Christian records in the past, clearly enjoying trying out a variety of things. Although he is a lively character and still knows how to get a crowd involved in a performance, his music really isn't my taste. He sounds like many other country singers to me and his music doesn't massively stick out in my mind. But from a live performance point of view, he is energetic, funny and bubbly. His passion for music is infectious and you have to appreciate someone who has been performing for so long and can still work a stage.

the crowd at the shows are usually pretty entertaining at charlie daniels shows. so even if you dont know his songs... you will have a good time crowd watching. but i would suggest going listening to the devil went down to georgia live as well. always enjoyable to sing to that song!

May 6th, the 1st  day of the 3-day event kicks off with the world-famous Charlie Daniels Band. As one of country music's most recognizable acts, the CDB crew dominated the country charts and topped the pop charts with crossover hits throughout the 70s and 80s.  

Back, after the loss of their iconic band leader and frontman, the band (with the help of special guest singers and musicians) will be playing a full set of their classic hits, including Devil Went Down To Georgia, The Legend of Wooley Swamp, Long Haired Country Boy and more. Among the guests appearing with CDB to be announced soon.  

The focus on veterans and veteran wellness makes the partnership between the Charlie Daniels Band, Freedom Sings USA and Valley Fest a natural fit for this year's event and beyond. Charlie Daniels and manager David Corlew have supported Freedom Sings USA in the past. CDB band member, Billy Crain has graciously donated his time and talents on numerous veteran tracks and serves as lead songwriter for FSUSA's Thursday night veteran's class (along with Al Jarvis). CDB continues to show their support for veterans and the community by coming alongside for this 3-day event. Also, it is important to mention, in 2014, Charlie Daniels with David Corlew founded The Journey Home Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit co-founded by Daniels and manager, David Corlew, to help Veterans of the United States Armed Forces.  The mission of The Journey Home Project is help veterans and heroes reintegrate from service to civilian life. Alabama Extend 50th Anniversary Tour With Charlie Daniels, Exile

Since 1969, pioneering country group Alabama have been delivering an influential brand of high-energy performances that have culminated in numerous Entertainer of the Year honors and membership in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Now, the trio of Randy Owen, Jeff Cook and Teddy Gentry have added nearly 30 additional stops on their current 50th Anniversary Tour, with shows just announced in Grand Rapids, Michigan; Bangor, Maine; Tallahassee, Florida; and Ottawa.

In addition to the Charlie Daniels Band, others appearing on the tour include the Marshall Tucker Band, John Anderson, Restless Heart, Exile, John Michael Montgomery, Scotty McCreery and Canadian artist Charlie Major. A date with the Beach Boys is also slated to be announced.

“We are very fortunate to have made many friends over the last 50 years,” bass player-vocalist Teddy Gentry said in a statement. “On this tour, we decided to ask some of them to come along and play with us. We have the best of the best. It’s a lot of fun to hang out and watch our special guests every night.”

Alabama launched their first Farewell Tour in 2002, which ran for two years, after which the members recorded solo projects, playing together again in 2005 to benefit Hurricane Katrina victims. Lead singer Randy Owen battled prostate cancer in 2010 and singer-guitarist Jeff Cook was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2017. By that time, they had reunited, without drummer Mark Herndon, for two lengthy tours and the release of Southern Drawl, their first new album in 14 years.

Review: Kenny Chesney gets overamped in familiar show at Vikings stadium

H ow appropriate to blast AC/DC's "Rock 'n' Roll Train" through U.S. Bank Stadium Saturday night immediately before country superstar Kenny Chesney took the stage.

Chesney, the king of country stadium concerts, and his band came out roaring, the guitars, energy and fun cranked to 11. Even when Chesney got to a ballad, "Save It for a Rainy Day," it was so amped that it didn't feel like things had slowed down at all.

Finally, on "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems," the show's ninth selection, the music downshifted as Chesney delivesred the Western swing fiddle tune that has become a mantra for him. Next up was "Somewhere with You," a stylish R&B ballad that reached No. 1 in Nashville in 2011, punctuated Saturday with a soaring Kenny Greenberg guitar solo.

There is no slowing down Chesney, the Energizer Bunny of country music. At 56, he knows only one mode for concerts — hyperactive. If he were wearing a Fitbit, he would have easily covered 10,000 steps with his running, scooting, skipping, sashaying, bouncing and jumping (including jumping jacks) on the T-shaped runway.

As exciting it may have been for Chesney and near-capacity crowd, the winning performance felt like a rerun of his concert at the Vikings stadium a mere 21 months ago. Like seldom-seen George Strait, Chesney just hasn't changed much in concert. Strait has a golden voice and gravitas of being King of Country Music with a record 44 No. 1 singles. Chesney is no slouch with 32 chart-toppers but he visits often — this was his seventh Twin Cities stadium appearance since 2012 — and needs to mix it up more.

After an overloud, rambunctious "Young" (reminiscing about high school), the four-time CMA entertainer of the year interjected a song Saturday that five people asked him about earlier in the day — an acoustic version of "Old Blue Chair," which showed he can be a nuanced singer when he tries.

His vocal prowess was apparent on other selections, David Lee Murphy's "Everything's Gonna Be Alright" (on the recording of which Chesney sang) and a duet of "Drift Away" with opening act Uncle Kracker, who remade that 1973 Dobie Gray hit into a 2003 hit. Kracker also joined Chesney for their '04 country triumph, "When the Sun Goes Down."

Ironically, Chesney's ended his 25-song, 1¾-hour performance with "Don't Happen Twice" with Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell joining the superstar onstage — just as then-Coach Mike Zimmer had done in 2018 — to present a Vikings helmet to a lucky fan.

Like 2022′s marathon that featured Dan + Shay, Old Dominion and Carly Pearce, Saturday's program included three openers — sometimes-stadium headliner Zac Brown Band, rising newcomer Megan Moroney and aforementioned Chesney crony Uncle Kracker.

The always-eclectic Zac Brown Band was terrific and increasingly soulful, recast slightly with a horn-punctuated Doobie Brothers-evoking groove, propelling "Same Boat" and spiking "Toes" with peppy trumpets. The 12-member ensemble found an up-tempo reggae vibe for Bob Marley's "Could You Be Loved" and got swampy for "Who Knows," which featured Clay Cook's Woodstockian guitar solo.

In 90 minutes, ZBB covered the Eagles, Paul Simon, Van Morrison, the Tokens and Charlie Daniels Band. Lest they ignore their beach bona fides, Brown dedicated the new "Pirates and Parrots" ballad to Jimmy Buffett, crooning, "We'll pick up where you left off/ Strummin' on a sailor song." That was quite a contrast with a cover of the Beastie Boys' noisy rabble-rouser "Sabotage" before the hoedown hit "Chicken Fried," which featured a Marine salute and a Brown-led "U.S.A." chant mid-song.

Moroney evoked early Taylor Swift with her rhinestone guitar, wavy blond hair and broken-hearted tunes. What sets this 26-year-old Georgian apart is her smart songs with unexpected twists.

"28th of June" was about a wedding anniversary that no longer resonates the same way after divorce. "No Caller ID" complains about her ex phoning at 3 a.m. just as she's involved with a new, standup guy.

As Moroney explained, her songs are therapy and "country music lets us feel a little less alone." She then offered "Girl in the Mirror," singing that "she loves the boy more than she loves the girl in the mirror." Moroney pivoted to show her resilience on the hit "Tennessee Orange" about being a University of Georgia girl willing to wear rival University of Tennessee orange for her boyfriend.

From the beginning of the ski holiday to the end, they bring quality equipment, they respond and follow up and they are always thoughtful and kind. This past week in Park City was no exception. I purchased new boots in the middle of my ski trip, so I needed Black Tie to adjust my bindings. During the adjustment James asked me if I was satisfied with my skies. I remarked that I didn't like them as much as a previous experience. He asked if I wanted to change back to the skis I prefer. The equipment is in great condition and super high quality. I think the skis I rented this year actually improved my skiing! And the heated boots were the bomb. The rental process is simple, the delivery and pick up are a breeze. The Black Tie staff are very friendly and professional. I rent ski equipment because I only ski 4-6 days a season and it does not make sense for me to buy equipment as new and improved equipment is always coming out, and I like having the latest and greatest. And as I fly to my ski trips I prefer not to have to haul the ski equipment and pay the airlines baggage fees. That really adds up, and when you consider that you would have to pay $120 in baggage fees round trip, and you deduct that from the cost of the Black Tie rental, the cost isn't all that much! I and my sisters started using this group at Heavenly Valley in California and were delighted when we went to Utah that they were also in Park City. This year was especially nice since they keep all your information so they can bring you skis, boots, poles and helmets in your size and make sure that the settings are correct. They bring all to your condo. This year when they upgraded our equipment and I found that for me it was not to my liking they came to the slopes and switched it out. It would take more than two days to walk around the perimeter of the biggest city in Europe, Moscow. Reasons to Vacation in Moscow in 2022

The Bolshoi theatre is familiar to almost everyone as Russia’s grandest theatre, but what people don’t know is that there are many more bolshoi (big) sites in Moscow that are worth travelling all the way to Moscow to see. For more than 100 years, the world’s biggest bell has been hidden behind the Kremlin’s walls and inside Moscow’s main park (which is bigger than some countries!) there is the world’s largest outdoor ice-rink. Travelers that visit Moscow can stay at the Izmailovo, Europe’s biggest hotel, then eat at the largest and most historic McDonald’s in Europe and after that have fun at the largest European indoor theme park!

Ancient Past & Stunning Architecture:

As those who travel to Moscow will see, just because Moscow is a city of record-breaking, glitzy high-rises doesn’t mean that there is no history. On the famous Arbat street, time-worn, wooden storehouses and century-old churches are squashed up against grey, soviet blocks which are then towered over by 21st century office-blocks. Unlike its much younger sibling, St Petersburg, Moscow’s roots stretch way back to the 12th century. Within the walls of the Kremlin, the city’s oldest building the Cathedral of Assumption can be admired in all its 500+ years of age.

For a foreigner who has never visited Russia, Moscow is the perfect stepping stone into this great land of mystery. From the country’s best classical ballet troupes to snow-white troikas trotting through the parks, all the highlights of Russian culture can be had in Moscow without any of the complications that would be expected in other, less developed regions of Russia.

In Moscow, everything is bargain when with the current foreign exchange rates being what they are. Even caviar doesn’t seem so dear when the exchange rate is at 60rub to the dollar, so go on indulge yourself! Lena, our guide in Moscow was excellent. She was very knowledgable and could answer any question we had for her. We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

We had a great time both in Moscow and St Petersburg. Your travel agency was excellent in coordinating the whole trip. Everything worked like clockwork. The guides assigned to us were very nice and friendly. They had a great knowledge of their subjects. The cars and the drivers were great. The hotels were good and the itinerary was good.
