Group Leisure & Travel Show perfectly timed for GTOs planning trips for 2022
2021-04-08T09:23:00+01:00
The focus of the Group Leisure & Travel Show, planned for 7th October 2021, will be on inspiration and group bookings for 2022.
The Group Leisure & Travel Show is the place to be for picking up inspiration and offers as well as having great conversations with exhibitors.
With so much in the news about holidays and leisure breaks, the show director of the Group Leisure & Travel Show, scheduled for 7th October at the Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes, has reassured visitors and exhibitors about the exhibition and the plans for a successful event this autumn.
Graham Yandell said: “The great thing about our show, which is the biggest and most successful in the group travel sector, is that essentially it is all about 2022.
“Group travel organisers and coach operators plan trips and visits many months in advance and our research confirms that the average planning time period is around six-months, with three-months normally being the minimum.
“Those exhibitors attending will meet quality organisers who are eager to get their groups back travelling and we know there is a huge appetite amongst leading GTOs to plan and book for next year. The perfect time to engage with the market will be on October 7th.”
Plans for the exhibition are well under way and the celebrity speakers confirmed include travel pundit Simon Calder, and Flog It! presenter Paul Martin. Each will have a session in the Seminar Theatre with the opportunity for questions from visitors after their talks.
This year’s celebrity speakers will each have a session in the Seminar Theatre.
Seminars are free and open to all visitors to the show, which also offers free entry for group travel organisers.
Yandell added: “The amazing roll-out of the Covid vaccine and the forthcoming opening of venues means this will be one of the most important group travel events ever.
“With a superb range of celebrity seminar speakers and free entry, we expect a really successful show on 7th October and it’s good to see the show is already well over 60% booked for stand space.”
For details of stand availability contact Sharon Yandell on 01908 613323 or email [email protected] .

Event date is subject to ongoing Government rulings on public assembly and therefore the organisers reserve the right to make appropriate changes if required affecting the date or venue at their absolute discretion.

For those truly epic, once-in-a-lifetime destinations, you want to leave your itinerary to the experts. Whether your dream is to see the Big Five on an African Safari, trek tall mountains, explore European cities, or something even wilder, a group tour is the easiest way to do it.
However, picking the wrong group tour company is the quickest way to ruin your trip. Make sure you choose a tour company that aligns with your goals and travel styles. Do you want an intimate group tour or do you prefer to make lots of new friends in a big group? Does the price line up with what you like (luxury vs. budget)? Is the itinerary going to all the places you want to see?
We’ve done the research and found the very best group travel tour companies for 2023 for every type of traveler.
Best Overall Group Travel: Exodus Travels
With trips on every continent, Exodus Travels covers anywhere on this planet that you could possibly want to go, from popular destinations like the Amalfi Coast to well off-the-beaten path adventures like Tajikistan. These small group tours operate with only around 12-16 people, and always feature experienced local leaders who can give you a unique insight into your destination. Exodus Travels caters to any type of travel style, including trips broken down by type of activity (think walking, cycling, multi-adventure, winter, or cultural) as well as type of traveler (family, age group, etc.). There are curated collections (coastal, “away from it all”, European wilderness, and trips of a lifetime) to inspire you, as well as self-guided options for when you want all the benefits of a group tour planner without the actual group. Looking for that special safari? Exodus Travels just partners with the African Wildlife Foundation to create carefully curated luxury adventures that go above and beyond the standard safari.
Exodus Travels tours work for almost any budget, with options that range from affordable to premium.

Why group travel is on the rise and more important than ever
Airbnb's CEO reveals the reason behind the 80 per cent rise in holiday rental bookings for groups
"It’s something I do every year and the best way to maintain friendships." Sat on a comfy armchair in a quiet neighbourhood of Los Angeles, Brian Chesky – the man who brought the world Airbnb – is feeling reflective.
"I make sure I go on an annual trip with my college friends because that’s the way I maintain the relationships with my past. One lives in North Carolina, another in LA, another in New Jersey and I’m in San Francisco so these trips are how we stay in touch and stay connected."
Brian, who started Airbnb in 2007 by renting out three inflatable mattresses to people attending a nearby conference, understands that keeping friendships alive is not always easy and requires work. "Because you have no new experiences together you end up just talking about the same old stuff," he says. "Group travel is one of the best ways to maintain friendships because you make new memories and share them together."
"Last year we went to Europe and visited a couple of cities including Venice . We stayed in a 500-year-old house that was right on the canals. It was from the Renaissance period and completely nuts to be staying in a place with that much history. The whole trip was magical, a real once-in-a-lifetime experience that none of us will ever forget."
Given the rise in popularity of group bookings – something that shows no sign of slowing – it’s hardly surprising that Airbnb has introduced new features to its app to cater for multi-person trips. These include shared wishlists and group chat facilitates enabling friends to pick the perfect place to stay more easily and also allow everyone within the group to communicate with the host whereas before only one person could do so.
The 42-year-old has his sights fixed firmly on the future in the hope of changing the world even further. "Five years from now I would like to read the headline that Airbnb has created one billion new friendships. I want to focus on connecting people and helping them have magical and memorable experiences together."

Consisting of two identical villas next to each other on the island’s southern shore, the 10-bedroom Posidonia is the perfect place for a group of pals to enjoy a Greek adventure. Boasting traditional Myconian architecture – think white plastered walls, local stone and charming Cycladic arches – the property has a gorgeous pool and is blessed with a location other properties can only dream of. Not only is Mykonos Town just minutes away but there’s a local market nearby and some of the island’s loveliest beaches are a short drive away. The views down towards Nammos beach are pretty special, too.
Malaga, Spain; up to 14 guests
Bursting with character, this historic hilltop hideaway dates back to the 18th century when it started life as a wine press. Fast forward a few hundred years and it’s welcoming groups to experience the magic of rural Spain. Surrounded by olive, oak and fig trees which hide caves said to be more than 6,000 years old, Lagar los Pilones offers a rustic retreat with wooden beams, an open-plan living area complete with fireplace and stop-in-your-tracks mountain views. The best bit? The museums, bars and beaches of Malaga are just 20 minutes away.
Brežice, Slovenia; up to six guests
Unwind in the wilds of Slovenia with five of your closest friends at this one-of-a-kind Airbnb on the banks of the Krka River. There’s plenty to keep you busy with vineyards and natural hot springs all nearby.
Formentera, Spain; up to 10 guests
The alluring Balearic island of Formentera has been captivating people for centuries. This sweet spot in Sant Francesc is one of peace, privacy and tranquillity. Don’t all rush at once.
Waverveen, Netherlands; up to 12 guests
For something completely different, why not choose this stunning eco-barn on the outskirts of Amsterdam? Travis Kelce spotted dancing in star-studded group at Taylor Swift's Paris show
T he "City of Love" was the latest sighting of Travis Kelce at a Taylor Swift concert, and he had some A-list celebrities dancing alongside him to his significant other’s chart-topping hits.
The Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end was seen at Paris La Défense Arena in Paris where Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid were next to him to enjoy Swift’s 87th Eras Tour show.
Coincidence on the number, anyone?
CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM
Videos have circulated on social media of Kelce dancing to Swift songs, including "… Ready for It?" "Lover" and the classic "You Belong with Me."
It’s significant that Kelce has been spotted at this show as he hasn’t been seen since she went back on tour. Swift has been in Paris for three nights prior to this fourth and final show, where Kelce was spotted.

TRAVIS KELCE HOSTING ‘SNL’ MADE CAST MEMBER FEEL ‘VERY PROTECTIVE’ OF HIM
Of course, this isn’t the first time Kelce has reciprocated the love and support Swift showed during the Chiefs’ Super Bowl-winning season last year. During the Chiefs’ bye week, Kelce was seen in Buenos Aires for one of Swift’s Eras Tour dates.
They will clearly go the extra mile to support each other; Swift famously flew from Japan to Las Vegas for the Super Bowl after a tour date across the Pacific.
And fans, whether it was of Kelce first or Swift, have fallen in love with the couple throughout the process as they continue to be one of the world’s power couples.
While love isn’t something to rush, many are clamoring to know if Kelce has any thoughts of proposing to Swift to take their relationship to the next level.
Recently, Chiefs long snapper James Winchester said on the "Like a Farmer" podcast that he thinks his teammate will be engaged at some point because he sees "they’re very similar in a lot of ways."
"Being around Trav for the last nine years, I mean, I think they’re more similar than you would think. I wish the best for them," he added.
Other than supporting Swift, Kelce has had a great offseason thus far. The Chiefs made him the highest-paid tight end in the game with a new contract extension that’s worth $34.25 million over two years, with $17 million fully guaranteed for the upcoming 2024 campaign.
So, personally and professionally, Kelce had a lot of things to dance about in Paris with some of his friends while watching Swift kill it onstage.
