But many people likes to keep track of their spending when planning a vacation and your cruise from the Port of Miami is no different. However, most people, particularly those setting off on their first cruise, don’t realize that overall costs can rise dramatically once you add parking fees.

Official public parking in the Port of Miami costs around $22.00 per day ($25 or $28 if sailing Royal Caribbean). Multiply that by 7, 14 or 21 and you could be seriously out of pocket.

However, several hotels offer cruise parking services that could cost you as little as a one night stay. If you don’t plan on staying overnight, you can still park at some hotels near the port.

Stay here, cruise, and visit downtown Miami to have a fully packed holiday or vacation. At the property you can also choose to leave your car while you go on a cruise. There is an extra fee of around $8.00* per night for long-term parking.

16. Hampton Inn Miami Coconut Grove Coral Gables ★★★

When it comes to budgeting for a cruise, everyone knows about the cost of the cruise itself. But most people (especially first-time cruisers) don’t realize that parking can be a huge expense as well.

The Port of Miami’s official parking costs a pricey $22 per day ($25-28 if sailing Royal Caribbean) or about $150 for a 7-day cruise! While some nearby independent lots charge significantly less, the price still adds up over the course of a week.

The good news is that you don’t have to shell out this money. A little-known tip is that many hotels in the area cater to cruisers. If you stay at least one night with them, they offer discounted parking during your cruise.

If you’re not planning to stay in a hotel, then buying a room simply for the parking isn’t likely worth it. But if you planned on staying in the area anyway, be sure to ask about parking during your cruise.

How to Book Parking During Your Cruise

Now, booking hotel parking for your cruise isn’t always as straightforward as you’d think. There are several different ways to get parking and how to book will depend on the specific hotel. While we’ve laid out all the details, it’s always a good idea to call the hotel directly before booking , as the offers can change.

1. Booking a hotel package: Many hotels offer packages through their website that include parking. Room rates are normally higher than what you’d pay without the parking package, but still more affordable than parking at the port.

2. Paying a per-night fee: Other hotels simply let you pay a daily parking fee while you leave your car there instead of booking a package. 

3. Third-party hotel parking: Some hotels have started to work with third-party websites for parking. If you call the hotel, they will direct you to book with the website if you want to leave your car during the cruise.

DoubleTree Biscayne Bay Among the closest hotels to the port that offers cruise parking, the DoubleTree Biscayne Bay is a high-end hotel that sits right on the water. In fact, you can see the cruise ships from the hotel. It’s also within walking distance of the Frost Science Museum.

Rooms run between $175-$300 for most nights. The “Park & Cruise” deal that’s offered adds about another $130 to the price, lets you leave your car while you cruise for up to eight nights, and gives you a shuttle to the port for two. That’s slightly cheaper than parking at the port if you planned to stay anyway. Note that during the night you stay, there is a $39 valet parking fee.

Hilton Miami Downtown Sitting just behind the DoubleTree listed above, the Hilton Downtown isn’t quite as expensive, but still offers comfortable accommodations right next to the port. The hotel itself is modern and updated, fitting with the Miami style. Stay at the Hilton using its “Park and Go” package and you’ll receive parking for up to 7 nights and a shuttle to the nearby cruise port. This is a great option for those looking to stay at a high-end hotel near the port. In our search, the package costs about $50 over the base rate.

Hampton Inn & Suites Miami/Brickell-Downtown Located in downtown Miami less than three miles from the port, the Hampton Inn Brickell-Downtown isn’t just conveniently located. It also gets some of the highest ratings for any hotel in our list. 

According to its website , the hotel has an exclusive “Park, Stay, & Cruise” offer when booking direct . It includes discounted parking of $19 per day for up to a week. That’s a few bucks less per day than parking at the terminal unless parking at the Royal Caribbean terminal, which costs extra. Rates for this deal were about $40 than the normal flexible rate.

SpringHill Suites Miami Downtown/Medical Center We’ll admit that the location of this hotel right next to an elevated freeway isn’t the greatest, but it does offer parking at a sharp discount to the port and gets good reviews. 

Specifically, the hotel has a pre or post-cruise package on their website. With this special you’ll get $10 per day parking for up to 7 nights , as well as complimentary transportation to the cruise port (you’ll need to arrange a ride back). Rates we saw were about $50 higher than the base room rate, so you’ll need to do the math on if it’s worth it for your parking.

Hampton Inn Coconut Grove Hampton Inn is known for offering great value and comfy rooms. Situated in Coconut Grove — about six miles south of the port — this version of the hotel sits near Highway 1, without being right next to the freeway. You will need to arrange a ride to the cruise terminal.

The price was about $50 over the regular nightly rate in our search. For that cost, you get a discount off the normal parking rate to where it costs $15 per day for up to 15 days . You will need to arrange transportation to and from the port, which will run about $15 each way.

Courtyard Miami Airport Highly rated and right near the airport, it’s hard to go wrong staying at a name-brand like the Courtyard by Marriott. Like sister properties nearby, the hotel also offers a “Park and Fly” special through the website, which offers a discount of 50% off the regular parking rate, bringing the cost to $15 per day . You will need to arrange your own transportation to and from the cruise port.

Sonesta Miami Airport Sonesta fits if you are looking for a higher-end hotels that are still affordable for the average person. In fact, this location has rooms on weekend nights for under $200 (though prices will vary).

Sonesta has a “Snooze and Cruise” package that offers your choice of three or seven nights of parking , as well as a welcome cocktail. There is also a “Park and Fly” package that allows you to park your car. You will need to arrange transportation to the cruise terminal.

When we price checked, the parking offer was about $30 more than the base room rate. In other words, if you sail for two days or more (which everyone does!), then you’ll save versus parking at the Port of Miami.

The hotel offers a “Park and Go” package that gives you up to seven nights parking . During our search we found prices about $50 above the base room rate. In other words, for about two nights of parking at the port, you can leave your car here instead for up to a week.

In addition to being a nice hotel, it also offers a “Stay & Cruise” package that includes a free upgrade to a business suite, free breakfast, and one-way transportation to the Port of Miami. If you need to park, there’s also a “Park and Fly” deal that provides complimentary parking for seven days. Longer parking is available at $12 per day.

It’s designed for air travelers, but you can park your car for up to 15 days during your trip. Best of all, it’s only about $20 over the standard rate.

A phone call to the hotel told us that they have parking for $12 per day while you cruise . That’s $10 per day off the rate charged at the cruise port. In addition, they offer a shuttle over to the cruise port for free, but you will need to arrange a ride back to fetch your car.

Comfort Inn & Suites Miami International Airport Opened in 2019, this new spot is ideal for cruise passengers. While it’s a good distance from the cruise port, it does offer a free shuttle to the terminals. As well, a call to the hotel told us that you can park here for just $12 per day while you cruise . You simply let the front desk know and they will give you a parking pass. There is also a shuttle to the port.

Clarion Inn & Suites Miami International Not everyone wants to stay in a fancy hotel. Sometimes you simply want an inexpensive place to stay — especially when you’re there for only a night. In this case, the Clarion Inn can do exactly that. The hotel is affordable and it gets decent reviews.

The hotel offers a parking deal for up to 30 days that’s less than $10 above the “Everyday Rate” we found in our search. The deal is actually meant for airline passengers (the hotel is next to the airport), but there’s no rule that you can’t use it for your cruise.

Hampton Inn Miami Airport/Blue Lagoon Blue Lagoon is a unique area just south of the Miami airport that is a literal lagoon. The body of water in the middle of the city is unique and cuts down on some of the concrete jungle that can be Miami. 

It is also highly rated, and with its “Park and Go” parking package , you can get up to 10 nights parking included for about $100 over the base rate, although the rate difference varies.

Homewood Suites Blue Lagoon This hotel sits at the end of a peninsula that juts out into Blue Lagoon, giving it a convenient location that’s in the middle of everything but still feels secluded. 

The hotel offers parking for $15 per day while you are away. That’s a decent savings off the cruise port’s prices. Keep in mind you’ll need to arrange transport between the port and hotel.

The hotel provides up to 14 nights parking included in their parking special (technically it’s a “Park and Fly” package designed for those flying somewhere, but you can park during your cruise). That length of trip would cost you more than $300 at the Port of Miami for parking alone. The hotel’s package price is only about $20 over the standard nightly rate.

One thing to note is that you are about 12 miles form the port and transportation is not included. Even so, the ride will only cost you about $20-25 each way meaning you still save a bundle versus parking at the cruise terminal.

Stayed here night before and after cruise. Price is best cause free shuttle to and from airport and to port of Miami. Rooms were clean updated and modern. Shuttle was great. Staff friendly. Guy on overnight not as much. Didn't use the pool as weather was overcast but it looked beautiful. Will stay agin for sure.

We stayed here on our visit to Miami recently for around 4 days. It's a decent business hotel and offers most of the amenities you would require. Rooms are clean and spacious, although a bit dimly lit. Doesn't offer much of views from the room but it's a business hotel at the end of the day and we were not even expecting a lavish experience. They have a swimming pool which is quite nice. Staff is quite friendly and helpful too. They also provide complementary breakfast although the choices are few - mostly bagels, muffins, fruits and coffee or juice. If you need something more such as eggs or sausages, it's not available as they don't really have a kitchen or restaurant. You can order meals to be delivered to your room from local eateries. There's also a food truck close to the entrance that makes decent burgers and fries etc. They also have a shuttle service which you can avail for pick ups from and drops to the airport. Overall we had a comfortable stay.

Booked here with friends as an overnight before heading out on a cruise! The rooms were clean, pool was nice! Close to airport so noisy outside but did not hear planes at night (which is nice!) Continental breakfast was very basic! Cereal, fruit, toast, coffee, juice. Shuttle service was available to the cruise terminal (had to book ahead) and was free to go there.. but did have to arrange/pay for transportation back. We left our vehicle there while we were gone at a great price.. was worth it for the convenience of not having to arrange parking/driving at the port.

This place is dirty and unsafe. We were on 2nd floor in 2nd bldg. doors slamming from rooms around us all night with yelling loud talking. Then at 12:30am security guard pounded on our door waking myself husband and daughter up from sound sleep. Demanding ID stating they didn't show anyone assigned to that room. Warning: don't stay here. Awful

Has anyone done a snooze and cruise package in Miami? We have done them in Port Canaveral and would like to do it again in Miami, but it can't be too expensive. Any ideas?

Are you talking about leaving your car at a hotel after a stay instead of parking at POM? :confused:

As downtown and Miami Beach hotels charge $25-30+/day for parking :eek: just about all of the hotels offering these deals will be out near the MIA airport. If a shuttle is not offered both ways plan on paying just under $30 (including tip) for a cab to POM and/or back to your car.

Security of your car is an issue in many parts of Miami :( - parking at POM costs $20/day but is convenient, covered and secure . You might be better off getting a $50-75 hotel a couple of hours north of Miami off of I-95 (Orlando is only a 3.5 hour drive away!) and then driving to POM the day of your cruise and parking there. Good luck! :)

We booked the Hyatt Place Airport West "park and cruise" for $119. You can leave your car there for 14 days and they provide a shuttle to POM included in the price. They do not include a shuttle for the return trip though.

I don't really see how that solves my problem, I asked if you knew of any hotels in the Miami area that offered a Snooze-n-cruise package, I'm sure that security is an issue, but it would be many other places too. We are driving from the North side of Florida, I don't want to stop 2/12 hours from where I am (Orlando) on Friday and then worry about getting to the port on time Saturday. I don't want to spend $20 dollars to park on top of a hotel like you said. I know you are trying to be helpful, but it doesn't answer my initial question. (:

Perhaps I don't understand what a snooze and cruise package is. Do you mean a hotel with a shuttle to the ship, or do you mean a hotel that will let you park your car there while you are on the cruise?

Check the Hilton website. The downtown Hilton in Miami often has those type of packages.

The LaQuinta Inn by the airport is pretty reasonable and they offer free shuttle service to the port.
