Atlas roofing hosts full house at ‘the big house’, roofing manufacturer returns to the road on a 10-city tour with the atlas road show: stadium tour.

Atlas Roofing has shaken off its COVID isolation and kicked off one of the shingle manufacturer’s beloved press-the-flesh events, the Atlas Roofing Road Show , which hit the road mid-April starting in Minneapolis, Minn., before its second stop — Ann Arbor, Mich., hosting clients at The Big House.

Michigan Stadium, venerated home of the University of Michigan’s Wolverines football team, welcomed around 250 contractors and guests for a full day of games, informative speakers and thousands of dollars worth of giveaways and prizes.

“We are so excited to be back on the road, networking and connecting with our partners in the field,” Bastek said in his emphatic, late-night, “I’m gonna convince you to buy my product” voice.

Effusive and upbeat, the Atlas executive MCs these events for a reason: he’s earnestly unrestrained. And while the atmosphere was raucously restrained, the information offered up was beneficial from both a product-pitch perspective and instructive on how contractors should think about how approaching new business.

For example, Bastek suggested that contractors scrap the notion of trying to sell roofing based solely on price versus putting quality front and center of the pitch. Rather than launching into a sale with a base product and then working on an upsell, inverse it.

“[Present] your products in a good, better, best lineup and start with the best,” he explained. “Most customers won’t want to pay for the best product, but when it comes to quality, they’re more [apt] to spring for the ‘better,’ which is more expensive than the good, but not out of reach.”

In addition to describing the benefits of Atlas’ various products , meteorologist Derek Kline, principal of HailTrace , a storm analytics company, discussed the science behind hail and how that science is used to help substantiate insurance claims. Other topics discussed included using in-home sales tools, Atlas’ proprietary sale tracking tools and a coaching session by Nathan Tebedo of ContractorCoachPRO .

The day concluded with a visit to the field where attendees had the chance to strike their best Heisman pose, kick field goals, and channel their inner Tom Brady or J.J. McCarthy.

Jan. 31 | International Builders’ Show (Las Vegas)

As the building industry’s biggest event, IBS is hosted by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), which represents more than 140,000 members.

March 7-9 | International Roofing Expo (Dallas)

IRE is the largest roofing and exteriors event in North America, with this year’s expo featuring more than 10,000 roofing professionals, 395 exhibiting companies and 60 educational sessions.

Plus, Atlas Roofing will be giving away a fully refurbished 1982 Chevy Silverado pickup truck! Ten soon-to-be-named finalists will win trips to Dallas for the event, with one lucky contractor walking away with the keys to the grand prize.

As the nation’s largest conference and tradeshow expo in the more than $100 billion roofing, solar and storm restoration industry, WTS is known for bringing in top-level speakers, such as Gary Vaynerchuk, Floyd Mayweather, Jordan Bellfort and Jimmy Johnson.

This year’s WTS features panel discussions, industry breakouts, a main stage debate and ballroom bootcamps.

April-September | Atlas Roadshows: Stadium Tour

Last, but certainly not least, Atlas will be back on the road this year, traveling to 10 cities across the country from April to September (specific locations and dates TBA).

TOLEDO, OH (June 7, 2022) — Atlas Roofing Corporation has signed on as the title sponsor of the ARCA Menards Series race on the Springfield Mile at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. The Atlas 100 is set for 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT on Sunday, Aug. 21 and will be televised live on MAVTV.

It marks the first involvement for Atlas with the series. Based in Atlanta, Atlas Roofing Corporation manufactures roof shingles, polyiso insulation, molded polystyrene, and paper and coated facers for new construction, remodels, and renovations.

“We always look forward to the summer months because that’s prime roofing season,” said Stanley Bastek, sales and marketing vice president for the Shingles and Underlayments division at Atlas. “It’s exciting for all of us to see the Atlas name as the entitlement sponsor for an ARCA Menards Series race, and even better for us to be associated with one of the most unique and traditional races on the schedule.”

The final weekend of the Illinois State Fair has featured two days of motorsports on the one-mile dirt oval since the 1960s, with the open wheel cars on Saturday and stock cars on Sunday. ARCA has sanctioned the stock car portion of the weekend since 1983, the first two of which were co-sanctioned with USAC. As it has since the 1950s, the USAC Silver Crown Series will once again be a part of the weekend with a 100-mile race on Saturday, Aug. 20.

“The race at Springfield is one of our cornerstone events, stretching back to 1983,” said ARCA president Ron Drager. “It’s one of the races that we can directly tie back to the formative days of the sport when stock car races were held on dirt fairgrounds tracks all across the country. We’re proud to carry on this tradition, and we’re pleased to partner with Atlas for what promises to be a memorable day of racing.”
