Opening the night, Brum newcomers Juice turn their amps right up to play an infectious 90s-style set, their only released track Sugar throwing back to The Jesus And Mary Chain and leaving everyone wanting more. Their geographical and stylistic contemporaries Dumb follow, who, ever since the release of Dive, have been catching more than a little limelight with their raw and gritty sound. Super Sonic Love Toy and Two Bottles leave those already fans chanting along and everyone else wanting to join them. If you thought you’d like Baby Strange because of their glam rock T Rex-inspired name, their live set, packed full of snarling vocals, punk riffs and unruly drums, is something altogether different. The Sunflower Lounge plays host to their intimate Birmingham debut and the crowd instantly makes its mark on the Glaswegian three-piece with frontman Johnny Madden shouting “it feels like we’re in Scotland in here, you’re making us feel at home,” just 10 minutes in. Friend and Distance Yourself go down a storm and soon enough a pit has formed while the trio onstage immerse themselves in their punk rock grunge. When the recognisable opening of Baby Strange’s debut track Pure Evil sounds, everything gets a bit messy – yelps of ‘Ew I’m tired of my generation’ overlapping the snide, attitude-filled melodies. A high-speed cover of (the song everyone knows) Peter Bjorn & John’s Young Folks leaves everyone shouting along, Baby Strange replacing its notorious whistles with overly-overdriven guitars. Never ones to tame down their set, the band end on a consistent high with their reputation for rowdy, disorderly gigs very much intact.

Fantastic! Those boys know what they're doing, I saw Baby Strange at Tunnels last year in Aberdeen and when I heard they had an album coming out and that they had a gig coming up in Edinburgh I knew I had to go. When I saw the crowd getting lively I knew I had to be a part of it as we listened to their energetic catchy tunes. Really good gig and I really liked "The Cut" who were supports, I hope to hear more from them soon.
Baby strange gig at sound control Manchester, a absolutely fantastic high energy experience with johnny on guitar and lead vocals, Aiden with his strong heavy bass lines and the technically solid Connaire on drums made a great gig and these three lads are on the way up , it was the second time I've seen them it won't be the last.

ALBUM REVIEW: BABY STRANGE – WORLD BELOW
Glasgow outfit Baby Strange release their second album World Below on 17th June via Icons Creating Evil Art (ICEA).
If Ridley Scott made a film about the current class divide, scourge of food banks and the political chaos we find ourselves in, this would be the soundtrack.
Title track ‘World Below’ is an atmospheric and promising opener with deadpan lyrics about burning down an art school. I’m interested…
‘Beating in Time’ is a lively track and one I could see going down very well at a gig, while in ‘Under the Surface’ the guitar is king.
‘Only Feel It When I’m With You’ is the band’s most recent single and features vocals from Hayley Mary of Australian band The Jezabels . ‘ Is this what you paid for? I can see the look in your eye. ‘
‘When It Calls’ provides the cool driving scene music for our imaginary film, and ‘Higher’ provides some surprising glam rock undertones: ‘ It gets too much when you feel the rush, you’re on it, I get it. ‘
‘0141’ and ‘I Feel So Cold But It’s Warm Outside’ deliver the angst with the latter’s unsettling tempo changes adding to the vision of ‘ running and screaming in a multiplex ‘.
The album ends on quite frankly a banger with ‘Midnight’ and the video confirms that Ridley Scott’s film is in train…
World Below is released on Icons Creating Evil Art, 17th June 2022. Baby Strange tour the UK in September. Check out tour dates at www.babystrangeofficial.com

BABY STRANGE Announce ‘Land of Nothing’ EP + UK tour dates
Glasgow trio Baby Strange are back with a bang in 2021 as they unveil their latest single, the grittily vibrant ‘Club Sabbath’. Vocalist and guitarist Johnny Madden says of the future dancefloor filler: “When we wrote this track we instantly knew we wanted to name it after our club night. It sounds like it was made for a dancefloor.”
New single ‘Club Sabbath’ is made for the dancefloor of their legendary Club Sabbath night
Glasgow trio Baby Strange are back with a bang in 2021 as they unveil their latest single, the grittily vibrant ‘Club Sabbath’ . Vocalist and guitarist Johnny Madden says of the future dancefloor filler:
“When we wrote this track we instantly knew we wanted to name it after our club night. It sounds like it was made for a dancefloor. This is one of our favourite songs to date and we can’t wait for people to hear it.
Check out ‘Club Sabbath’ here
We’re missing Club Sabbath more than ever right now. We started it in 2015 at The Priory on Sauchiehall St in Glasgow and we’ve hosted some really memorable parties. It’s a community spirit with loads of like-minded people. We’ve had live performances or DJ sets from people like Fontaines D.C, Wolf Alice, DMA’s, The Chats, The Magic Gang, Nick Allbrook (Pond) & The Dunts to name a few. The government needs to support independent venues during Covid or there will be nowhere left for new artists to cut their teeth and grow. It’s really important that small venues like The Priory survive through this for that very reason.”
Baby Strange have also announced the release of a brand new EP ‘Land of Nothing’ which features ‘Club Sabbath’ and recent single ‘More! More! More!’ and will be out via Icons Creating Evil Art on 30 April 2020. They’ll be heading out on an extensive UK headline tour in June 2021 under the moniker ‘Land of Nothing Tour’. See below for dates. Tickets on sale now.
With a line-up rounded out by brothers Connaire & Aidan McCann, Baby Strange are about to set out their stall and re-establish themselves as one of the most innovative and uncompromising outfits in the UK. Since the release of their critically acclaimed 2016 debut album ‘Want It Need It’, Baby Strange have toured tirelessly, building an enthusiastic and dedicated live audience, selling out venues across the UK & sharing stages with the likes of Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes, Slaves, Jamie T & Wavves.

Baby Strange release ‘I Want To Believe’
“‘ I Want To Believe’ is about wanting to be accepted by god but feeling you’re sinning too much in life to be fully accepted. It’s about paranoia and the need for redemption, as without redemption you have no validation,” says Baby Strange vocalist and guitarist Johnny Madden about the band’s latest earworm of a single. The pure melodic hook is paired with driven guitar, bass and pummelling drums in a sound that’s indicative of the Glasgow trio’s forthcoming rager of an EP ‘Land of Nothing’ – set for release 30 April via Swedish indie Icons Creating Evil Art.
The single follows on from the grit-flecked ‘Club Sabbath’ – a future dancefloor filler which specifically references Baby Strange’s own independent clubnight of the same name, legendary in the local scene. The band will be heading out on an extensive UK headline tour in Oct/Nov/Dec 2021 (rescheduled from summer) under the, unfortunately quite apt, moniker ‘Land of Nothing Tour’. See below for dates. Tickets on sale now.

About Baby Strange
Glasgow three-piece Baby Strange are Johnny Madden, Connaire McCann and Aidan McCann, the newest evolution of punk rock’n’roll. They have toured tirelessly in recent years, building an enthusiastically rampant live audience and fully maintaining their DIY ethos by creating their own artwork and videos.
'The Glasgow three piece are all leather jackets, spit and snarl. Rama lama guitar thrills set to fire up a new generation, this is snotty disobedience, outright deviance set to guitar, bass and drums' - Clash.

Taylor Swift Eras Tour in Paris: Baby on Floor Incident Explained
- Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below
Taylor Swift is still performing for her Eras Tour. However, an unusual but troubling incident involving a baby occurred at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Paris and this has shocked and angered many people. Accordingly, fans are curious about what happened and want to know all the details about the situation. So, here’s everything you need to know.
What happened at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Paris?
A baby was found lying on the floor at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Paris. The baby was seen sleeping on a purple coat.
In a now-deleted post on X (formerly known as Twitter ) by user @jacnights13, a baby was shown lying on the floor in the standing area of Taylor Swift’s show at La Defense Arena on Friday. The post was captioned:
“Not to be one of those people but I would genuinely call security if I saw a baby in the pit because it is NOT safe there.”
Taylor Swift fans have been left outraged after a photo emerged of a baby on the floor of the mega pop star's Eras Tour show in Paris. pic.twitter.com/s3QCjKDVLF — The Project (@theprojecttv) May 13, 2024
The post went viral and garnered many reactions from users who highlighted how the baby should have been bought in a carrier and offered ear protection from the loud noises.
Currently, it remains unknown how the infant ended up at the concert and who brought them to the show. Taylor Swift, her team, and the La Defense Arena have not yet commented on the situation. This is despite the official website of La Defense Arena mentioning in its Minimum Age FAQs that it is ill-advised or not recommended to bring children under the age of 4, even if accompanied on account of high volume.

Taylor Swift Fan's Photo of a Baby on the Floor of Paris Eras Tour Concert Goes Viral
E veryone parents their children differently, including when it comes to attending events like concerts – but this situation is a bit baffling. After a photo went viral showing a baby on the floor of the general admission pit of Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour, fans were outraged, and now, the arena where the concert was held is responding with a statement about it. We have a lot of questions, starting with how (and why) did this even happen?!

The Eras Tour is back from break.
Taylor resumed the Eras Tour in Europe on Thursday, May 9, with a concert held at La Défense Arena in Paris. Unlike the US leg of the tour, this venue offered general admission on the floor — some highly coveted spots for concertgoers hoping to get as close as they can to Taylor.
It also offered the opportunity, however, for something pretty strange to happen.
A disturbing photo from one of the Paris concerts has been circulating online.
In a photo making the rounds on X (formerly Twitter) that appears to have been taken at the May 10 concert, we can see an infant on the ground of the general admission section. The baby is lying on a furry purple jacket and is surrounded by empty drink cups, concert merchandise bags, and, of course, plenty of people.
Immediately, this choice drew backlash.
Fellow fans from all over the world have been voicing their concerns for this baby's safety, including parents.
"I have a 7 month old and I couldn’t imagine bringing him to the concert with me, let alone putting him on the FLOOR to sleep. As a new parent myself I try so hard not to judge/criticize other new (or maybe not new) parents but wtf guys, cmon," one person tweeted.
Another person wrote, "No cause people always call you selfish when you say you don't want kids but this is exactly why I know I can't bear that responsibility. If you're not ready to prioritize your child's needs before your own then you shouldn't be having kids !!!"
Some people are speaking up in the parents' defense.
A witness at the concert tweeted to share what was happening, writing, "I was standing next to this baby and she was perfectly safe the whole time. Your picture doesn’t even show the section we were in. Everyone needs to calm down."
