Working as a dealer at a cruise casino can be an exciting gig. These workers may oversee poker, blackjack, roulette, and more games.

Gambling service workers make $31,290 a year. However, as with tending bar, the actual wages for casino workers on a cruise can vary.

Cruise ships also need people to manage their entertainers, particularly if the ship has a lot of shows and performances scheduled.

Entertainment directors may be involved in scheduling staff, planning performances, and doing administrative work. The average salary for entertainment/recreation managers is $67,220 annually.

Fitness instructor

Many cruise ships also offer various fitness classes, including yoga, Zumba, spin, and more.

For qualified instructors, this can be a great way to stay healthy, make money, and travel the world all at the same time. The average fitness instructor makes $45,380 annually.

Hair/makeup artist

On cruise ships, hair and makeup artists may work in spas, providing services to guests looking to get pampered while on board, and may be needed to work with the ship’s performers.

The BLS groups barbers, hairstyles, and cosmetologists together and states an average of $33,400 annual salary for these workers.

Since a cruise ship is essentially a floating hotel, many employees with experience working in hospitality are needed.

Hotel directors ensure that guests are comfortable and enjoy their experience. They may also be involved in planning and coordinating cruise activities.

The average salary for lodging managers is $61,910 annually.

Some cruise ships also hire nurses to provide care to passengers and cruise staff.

The amount of money nurses make on average usually depends on the type of nurse. Registered nurses (RNs) make $81,220 annually. Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) make $54,620 a year.

Massage therapist

Many cruise passengers opt to take advantage of spa services. Massage therapists may work in a spa or travel to guests’ rooms with their equipment to provide massages.

Licensed massage therapists make just under $49,860 annually on average.

Cruise ships also frequently employ security staff to ensure the safety of guests and crew members. These workers may patrol the ship regularly and respond to any issues that come up.

The average salary for security guards is $33,030 annually.

Eating often and well is a big draw for many cruise passengers. Ships often have several restaurants on board and employ experienced servers to staff them.

Pay for these workers can vary, depending on the cruise line’s tipping policy. The average salary for a server in the U.S. is $29,120 annually.

Sales associate

Part of the beauty of the typical cruise ship is that it’s kind of like a floating mall, filled with gift shops and retail stores galore. Ships often need many sales associates to staff these stores.

Again, depending on the cruise line and the job, the pay for these gigs may vary. However, BLS data puts the average salary for a retail sales worker at $30,750 annually.

That’s not huge money, but perhaps it's enough for students to get ahead financially during breaks between school years.

Bottom line

Working as a cruise crew member is certainly not for everyone — lodging for staff can be cramped, days can be long, and you might be away from home for weeks at a time.

But if you're looking to boost your bank account  as you travel, it just may be a win-win situation.

City Cruises is seeking a Sales Associate for our operation in New York.

About You :

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

About the Opportunity :

The successful sales associate will provide a variety of support and to assist in various sales functions ensuring continuous customer satisfaction and maximizing sales.

The successful sales associate will personally contribute to the unforgettable guest experience, be favorably viewed by supervisors and peers, and be swift and efficient in the execution of their assigned duties.

Performance will be measured by sales quotas, departmental tests, management evaluation, and feedback from peers on the city’s team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

• Documents customer interaction in ANCHOR, the Company’s sales data base.
• Books cruises and make changes to previously booked cruises using ANCHOR, the Company’s reservation system.
• Maintains good organizational skills through time management, setting priorities, and accurate paperwork.
• Processes complimentary ticket requests.
• Inputs prospects and Business Replay Card (BRC) data into ANCHOR.
• Prints contracts, letters, etc. and files department data.
• Prints weekly reports.
• Collects payments and keeps abreast of accounts receivables.
• Distributes in-bound group calls.
• Performs pre cruise calls to confirm final numbers and details.
• Solicits input and works with Director of Sales and other appropriate sales team members to finalize product offer details.
• Handles customer maintenance activities for sales team members. May include tasks such as :
• Changes to original contract, including counts, upsells, and other special needs.
• Ensures complete and accurate product details are communicated to the F&B and Operations Departments to ensure proper execution of the product promised.
• Ensures communication is done in a timely, efficient manner.
• Meets and boards large groups when they arrive for their cruises. On occasion, may be required ride the cruise with the larger groups, especially full deck, and full ship charters, to help ensure outstanding product delivery.
• Provides prompt responses to customer inquiries.
• Develops comprehensive knowledge of product offerings, product extras, pricing, and scripting for all standard products.
• Follows through on all sales related actions such as payments, contracts, etc.
• Up-sells to customer who already have cruises booked.
• Prepares sales proposals for sales team members.
• Coordinates all components of a cruise including tickets, bar packages, photo packages, and other special event orders.
• Telemarkets in the off-season to qualify prospects.
• Assists sales team members in moving tentative.
• Research specific areas assigned to provide information to the sales team members.
• Additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associate’s degree preferred
• Communicate effectively in oral and written form

Job description.

The purpose of a Cruise Aftersales Executive is to ensure customer satisfaction and retention by providing exceptional post-sale support and pre cruise service to all Cruise Club UK clients. This role involves managing customer inquiries, addressing concerns, and coordinating solutions to ensure a seamless experience for passengers after they have booked their cruise.

Accountabilities

• To be responsible for always providing exemplary customer service to other departments and external customers.
• Assisting clients with any queries on their cruise reservations and completing any amendments on bookings.
• Booking additional services when required including excursions, dining, and drink packages and cabin upgrades.
• Offering an exceptional level of customer service and completing work to a high standard.
• Manage all aspects of confirmed bookings by reserving/amending flight, hotel, and transport arrangements and upselling where possible.
• Proactively switch sell and reduce cancellation of bookings.
• Ensure that all forthcoming deadlines are met considering seasonality of workload and the on-going demands of customer requirement.
• Collating and sending the daily post.
• Confirmation/cancellation invoice check and send.
• Liaise with worldwide suppliers, accurately verifying and logging arrangements.
• Assist the admin team with all ticket dispatch and itinerary production.
• Ensuring an SLA of checking all bookings within 24hrs of the booking is delivered to actively reduce company losses; maintain supplier relationships and improve efficiency and service levels within Cruise Club UK

Main Deliverables

• The successful candidate will have strong Cruise Sales experience and be extremely customer focused to offer exceptional service preferably gained within the Travel Industry.
• Customer Support: Providing timely and effective assistance to customers via phone, email, or in-person, addressing inquiries related to bookings, itineraries, amenities, and other post sale and pre cruise matters.
• Issue Resolution: Resolving any issues or concerns raised by customers regarding their cruise experience, such as cabin preferences, dining arrangements, special requests, or billing discrepancies, with a focus on achieving customer satisfaction.
• Relationship Management: Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients and co-workers to enhance their overall experience and foster loyalty to Cruise Club UK.
• Coordination: Collaborating with various departments within the cruise line, including reservations, operations, and onboard services, to coordinate solutions and ensure customer needs are met.
• Upselling and Cross-selling: Identifying opportunities to upsell additional services or amenities throughout the customer journey to enhance the customer experience and increase revenue for Cruise Club UK.
• Feedback Collection: Gathering feedback from customers regarding their cruise experience, including suggestions for improvement, and communicating this feedback to relevant departments for continuous enhancement of services.

• Must have cruise knowledge having worked for a cruise specialist company or travel agency with a good level of cruise and travel knowledge.

Airline reservation and ticketing executive

As an Airline reservation and ticketing executive your responsibilities will include the issuing of airline tickets, accurately and within set parameters to a given time frame. You will also work closely with the product team, helping to identify suitable routes and fares for the company’s portfolio of holiday offers. Finding cost savings and ensuring work is carried out to the highest quality to avoid errors and penalties, you will manage ticketing and airline ques and be on hand to assist the sales and administration teams.

This roles responsibilities will include:

• Making new flight reservations.
• Reviewing and quality checking existing flight reservations.
• Amending when needed existing reservations to correct any errors.
• Working with the product team to find suitable routes and fares.
• Negotiating and managing group contracts with airlines on behalf of the product team.
• Knowledge of fare rules as per airline contracts, to avoid penalties, cost increases and ADMS.
• Managing ticketing and airline queues.
• Quality checking clients final itineraries.
• Supporting the sales and administration teams dealing with issuing, customer upgrades and any changes.
• Issuing published fares, ensuring accuracy for customer details and requirements.
• Issuing contracted fares, ensuring accuracy for customer details, requirements and fare rules.
• Identifying cost savings by utilising strategic ticketing rules.
• Being a Sabre Super User.

Experience/Skills:

• Strong administration and organisational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external suppliers.
• Motivated and have the ability to achieve/exceed personal & business sales targets.
• Able to work as part of a team and with other teams as well as unsupervised.
• Able to perform under pressure in a busy environment

• Design, create, price existing and new Cruise Packages working closely with our partners.
• Monitor and check the website ensuring all deals are current and up to date.
• Reprice current packages for price changes.
• Liaise with sales, marketing & operational teams to keep up to date with trends and competitor activity.
• Identify gaps in the marketplace to create new opportunities.
• Develop key campaigns inline with the organisations marketing strategy.

We are looking for an ambitious Junior Accountant to provide support to the financial department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be part of a team working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s finances. Preparing financial statements and reporting are a large part of the junior accountant’s day-to-day work. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail. The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and help the company be fully aware of its financial condition. This way it can make the right decisions and accomplish long term success.

• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
• Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
• Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
• Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned.
• Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
• Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
• Assist with other accounting projects.
• Booking keeping and receipt analysis.
• Preparing & reporting VAT returns.
• Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers.
• Assisting account preparation up to trial balance.
• Assisting with the running of bank accounts and gaining approval for payments.
• Maintaining relationships with all major stakeholders.
• Proven experience as a junior accountant.
• Excellent organising abilities.
• Great attention to detail.
• Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software SAGE 50 (essential).
• Qualifications (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is a plus but not required.
• BSc/Ba in accounting, finance, or relevant field.
