There is no any standard hotel during tour also no proper site visit. most of the time we have spend in journy. think twise before booking. in each n every hotel we face lot of problems. Jirawala Parshwanatha temple at the foothills of Jairaj Hill at Jirawala village holds great importance in Jainism. EUGENE - One of the primary criticisms of conference realignment in college athletics has been the travel demands it places on teams who now play in conferences centered far away from where the schools are located. Oregon is one of the teams most affected by this change as the west coast power will play teams primarily from the central United States in 2024 and beyond.

The Big Ten conference expands to 18 total teams in 2024, including Oregon, the Washington Huskies, USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins.

The Oregon Ducks will travel an astonishing 15,222 miles for the 2024 football season (including a nonconference trip to Oregon State), up from 9,172 miles traveled for the 2023 regular season. Oregon's travel demands face a near-40 percent increase.

Although flights will inevitably cost much more, there’s also the toll this takes on staff and players, particularly as it pertains to frequently switching time zones. Whereas in the Pac-12 Conference, the vast majority of Oregon’s games were played in either Pacific or Mountain Time, the move to the Big Ten Conference involves many more games being played in the Central and Eastern time zones.

While the Ducks won’t have to make the trip out to the Eastern time zone for 2024 due to dodging schools like Rutgers and Penn State on this year’s schedule, this won’t be the case every year. It’s not hard to imagine how this travel distance could balloon even further in the coming years and be an even bigger factor in the team’s performance in road games.

It’s worth noting that some teams will have it worse than Oregon, such as Washington . The Huskies have to fly from even farther Northwest than the Ducks. In addition, California and Stanford will have even more burdensome travel demands as they transition to the Atlantic Coast Conference, made up of teams almost exclusively in the Eastern time zone.

While programs have more resources than ever to aid in recovery from these grueling trips, one can only imagine the effect this will have on the day-to-day lives of athletes and coaches alike.

Memorial Day weekend 2024 travel will be busiest at these times: How to avoid traffic jams

If you’re traveling for Memorial Day weekend , be prepared to run into some crowds. The next holiday weekend – taking place May 25 to 27 – is slated to see a record-breaking number of travelers, according to AAA. 

A projected 43.8 million Americans are expected to pack their bags for trips over 50 miles or more over the holiday weekend – a 4% increase from last year and close to 2005’s previous record of 44 million. 

“We haven’t seen Memorial Day weekend travel numbers like these in almost 20 years,” said Paula Twidale, Senior Vice President of AAA Travel, in a press release. “We’re projecting an additional one million travelers this holiday weekend compared to 2019, which not only means we’re exceeding pre-pandemic levels but also signals a very busy summer travel season ahead.”

Both roads and airports will be extremely busy, with a historic number of roadtrippers since AAA began tracking data in 2000. That’s 38.4 million drivers, up 4% from last year. 

A predicted 3.51 million airline passengers are expected to hit the skies over the holiday weekend, a 4.8% increase from 2023. This will make for the most crowded Memorial Day weekend at airports since 2005, AAA said.

What are the best times to drive for Memorial Day weekend? 

To avoid the worst traffic, drivers leaving for their long weekend trip on Thursday, May 23, and Friday, May 24, should hit the road before 11 a.m. or after 7 p.m. Thursday and 8 p.m. Friday. 

Travelers driving on Saturday, May 25, who leave before 1 p.m. and after 6 p.m., will be able to avoid the worst traffic jams. On Sunday, drivers should head out before 1 p.m. to avoid the worst congestion. 

Travelers returning home on Monday, May 27, should embark after 7 p.m. if they want to dodge peak traffic. 

What are the worst times to drive by car for Memorial Day weekend?

Travelers should expect the worst traffic on Thursday between noon and 6 p.m. 

Friday between noon and 7 p.m. since they’ll encounter commuter congestion as well. 

Over the weekend, peak traffic is anticipated to be between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday and between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday. 

On Memorial Day, drivers heading back home can expect peak traffic between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., aka peak rush hour time.

Travelers who are going through major metropolitan areas should unfortunately expect travel times to be up to 90% longer than usual, according to Bob Pishue, transportation analyst at INRIX. “Travelers should stay up to date on traffic apps, 511 services, and local news stations to avoid sitting in traffic longer than necessary,” Pishue said in a statement.

Summer travel season could be busiest in years, FAA forecast

The unofficial start to summer is Memorial Day weekend, but for some airlines like Fort Worth-based American Airlines, the summer surge has already started.

American Airlines estimates its summer travel season will run from May 17 through Sept. 3 and expects to have 72 million travelers over the summer .

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) expects to see the busiest summer travel seasons in years.

“The FAA is working every day to make sure you get to your destination safely and on time, especially as more people than ever gear up to fly this summer,” said FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker in a press release. “While we can’t control the weather – which is the number one reason for delays – we plan for and work around convective conditions. And to improve safety and enhance efficient operations on the runway, we are installing innovative new surface surveillance technologies at airports around the nation.”

The FAA forecasts Memorial Day weekend to be the busiest since 2010. They predict 53,515 flights on the Thursday before Memorial Day and 50,129 on Friday.

The FAA expects June 30 to be the busiest day of the summer with 53,785 flights.

Travel | Travel Troubleshooter: Iberia told me to file a chargeback, but now I don’t have a ticket!

On the same day, I received an email from Iberia with a confirmation. I called my bank that day and withdrew the dispute. A bank representative told me to just ignore any written communication and that it would automatically close the dispute. I followed this advice and assumed that my ticket would be valid. It wasn’t.

When I tried to check in for my flight, the system showed my ticket as “suspended.” An Iberia representative told me to dispute the charge again and buy a new ticket, so I followed this advice. Iberia did, in fact, receive the $776 from my bank (Capital One), but it nonetheless suspended my ticket. I would like to get a refund. Can you help me?

ANSWER: You should have had a ticket on your flight from Boston to Madrid. The problem is obvious: An Iberia representative told you to dispute the charge — and later “undispute” it –without making the necessary notations on Iberia’s side. As a result, you ended up with a voided ticket.

You shouldn’t have disputed this charge in the first place. True, credit card chargebacks under the Fair Credit Billing Act cover products and services that were purchased but not received. However, you hadn’t given Iberia time to resolve this on its side. It turns out Iberia eventually processed your transaction, which led to this mess.

My advice: File a credit card dispute after a few days — not a few hours. (I have more on filing a credit card dispute in my free guide on my consumer advocacy site, Elliott.org .)

Also, simply refusing to answer the questions is not enough to close your dispute. Yes, it will ultimately close the case and resolve it in the merchant’s favor, but for a problem like this, you need more. I would have explained the situation fully and asked for something in writing that confirmed your dispute had been withdrawn.

I list the names, numbers and email addresses of the Iberia customer service managers on my consumer advocacy site. A brief, polite appeal to one of them might have helped.

Was there a better way? Maybe. A qualified travel advisor might have ensured that you had a real ticket on Iberia. Sure, you would have to pay a little extra for the ticket, but the travel agent would ensure that everything goes smoothly with your flight. (I also have a guide on how to find a travel advisor.)

I contacted Iberia on your behalf. The airline issued a refund for your original ticket, as you requested.
