Brit pop singer MIKA has announced a North American headlining tour this spring to support his new record, ‘My Name Is Michael Holbrook’.

Brit pop singer MIKA has announced his return to the states for a North American headlining tour this spring to support his new record, My Name Is Michael Holbrook .

MIKA makes his triumphant return with a performance during the first weekend of Coachella , on 11 April 2020 before making stops in Denver, Chicago and New York, then wrapping up the tour on 16 May at Videotron Centre in Quebec, Canada.

General tickets officially will be available this Friday, 24 January at 10 am local time, while a special artist pre-sale goes live Wednesday, 22 January at 10am local time at his official site.

MIKA also revealed the details of a new live album entitled; MIKA Live From Brooklyn Steel (via Casablanca Records/Republic Records) arriving on 31 January.

Recorded during a sold out set at Brooklyn Steel, he delivered a historic performance of fan favourites and highlights from his critically acclaimed fifth album. The global pop singer-songwriter also shared a new video for ‘Dear Jealousy’, from his Brooklyn performance.

On his latest album, MIKA worked alongside longtime producer Greg Wells (Katy Perry, Adele) and explored his many influences: “from piano bar troubadour (‘All She Wants’, ‘Good Wife’) to anthemic boulevardier (‘Good Guys’) to disco diva (lead single ‘Talk About You’),” writes Billboard .

MIKA first burst onto the scene in 2007 with the single ‘Grace Kelly, a soaring single that displayed his vocal prowess and scaled the charts, turning his debut album, Life in Cartoon Motion , multiplatinum. He went on to release three more LPs: The Boy Who Knew Too Much , in 2009, The Origin of Love , in 2012 (including ‘Popular Song’, a collaboration with then emerging start Ariana Grande) and No Place in Heaven , in 2015.

Since winning the Brit Award for British Breakthrough Act in 2008, the piano-playing, multilinguistic star has been nominated for Grammy awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, served as a judge on France’s The Voice for six years and hosts his own BBC2 Radio show ‘The Art of Song’.

The Who isn’t currently scheduled to perform live anywhere. But its co-founder and lead guitarist Pete Townshend thinks it’s just a matter of time before they hit the road again.

During an interview on the Jim Kerr Rock and Roll Morning Show for Q104.3 FM in New York City, Townshend said that while there’s still a lot of planning to do, he and lead singer Roger Daltrey hope to work out the details of a tour sometime later this year.

The second round of the 2024 PGA Championship begins Friday morning at Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky. Here’s what you need to know to watch Round 2 of the PGA on TV or online.

How to watch PGA Friday

UPDATE: At 7:40 a.m. ET, PGA Championship officials announced that the delayed second round would begin at 8:35 a.m. ET, following a “serious accident” early Friday morning near Valhalla. All tee times will be delayed 1 hour and 20 minutes. Tee times at the bottom of this post have been updated to reflect that change.

After one round at the second major of the year, Xander Schauffele stands on top of the heap at Valhalla. For the second time in his career, the World No. 3 fired a major-championship 62, moving him to nine under and giving him a three-shot lead.

Tony Finau , Sahith Theegala and Mark Hubbard are tied for second at six under, while Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa are among a group of seven players one shot further back.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and defending champion Brooks Koepka shot matching four-under 67s to make for a truly star-studded leaderboard heading into Round 2.

The second major of the 2024 golf season has arrived with plenty of big-time players looking to set a tone for the remainder of the campaign. This as the beautify of May surrounds Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville with the PGA Championship returning to town for the first time in a decade.

An unfortunate wrench was thrown into the tournament Friday morning as, in unrelated incidents, a pedestrian was killed outside the Valhalla grounds in a traffic incident and world No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler was arrested for violating traffic rules . Follow PGA Championship live leaderboard coverage throughout Round 2.

Even before this shocking incident, Scheffler had an immense amount of pressure on his shoulders entering the tournament. Not only is Scheffler attempting to become the first golfer since 2015 to win the first two major championships of the year, the 2024 Masters champion is looking for his third straight win on the PGA Tour, which would also make it five victories across his last six tournaments played. Scheffler's gae has given talk of a grand slam some legitimacy. The PGA would also mark the second leg of his personal slam journey -- even if he does not complete it this year -- given his major championship mantle consists of two green jackets over the last three years.

Through 18 holes , Scheffler's right in the mix sitting five shots back of leader Xander Schauffele, who holds the clubhouse lead at Valhalla  making major championship history (again) by posting a 9-under 62 , tying the lowest such round at a major and setting the record for the lowest round at a PGA Championship.

Just behind Scheffler on the odds board entering the tournament were Brooks Koepka and Rory McIlroy, both of whom also won their last two starts. McIlroy is four shots off the lead with Koepka tied alongside Scheffler. As the reigning PGA champion, Koepka is seeking to go back-to-back at this tournament for the second time with his fourth such victory in seven years. McIlroy has gone without a major since the last playing of the PGA at Valhalla a decade ago, but he's clearly comfortable on this course and coming off a win in the Wells Fargo Championship where he dominated another familiar venue at Quail Hollow.

While attending the PGA Championship can be a ton of fun, simply being able to watch golf on the game's grandest stages is an incredible treat each year. 2024 PGA Championship Leaderboard: Live day 2 updates for golf leaders at Valhalla

The action at the first round of the 2024 PGA Championship did not disappoint. All eyes were on Xander Schauffele after a steller performance that also cemented his name in the history books by equaling the record for the lowest round in a major championship with a remarkable 62 in the opening round.

Schauffele didn't just settle early in the top spot, he dominated it, finishing Thursday with a 9-under-62.

Now, golfers head into Round 2 hoping to compete well enough to make the cut, and one of those players is Tiger Woods . Woods has been candid about his physical challenges and will look to make up ground on Friday to stay in contention and continue for a potential fifth PGA Championship title throughout the weekend.

The second round start times are now underway after having been delayed from 7:15 a.m. ET to 8:35 a.m. ET after a man was struck and killed by a shuttle bus that brings fans to the golf course.

Scottie Scheffler detained by police before start of Round 2 at Valhalla Golf Club

Friday witnessed a significant event as Scottie Scheffler's journey to the Valhalla Golf Club was abruptly interrupted by the Louisville Metro Police.

As reported by ESPN's Jeff Darlington, Scheffler was navigating around a crash scene when a police officer ordered him to halt. Despite the command, Scheffler persisted, driving a further 10 to 20 yards towards the entrance of the golf course.

The police officer than stopped Scheffler's car as he entered the golf course and the officer then pulled him out of the car and placed him in handcuffs.

Darlington also reported that he was standing at the entrance and witnessed the event. Scheffler asked him, "Can you help?"

"You need to get out of the way," Darlington said the officer told him. "There's nothing you can do. He's going to jail."

By 8:30 a.m. ET, Scheffler was released from police and was heading back into the golf course and began play at 10:08 a.m. ET.

"This morning, I was proceeding as directed by police officers," Scheffler said in a social media statement. "It was a very chaotic situation, understandably so considering the tragic accident that had occurred earlier, and there was a big misunderstanding of what I thought I was being asked to do. I never intended to disregard any of the instructions. I'm hopeful to put this to the side and focus on golf today.

"Of course, all of us involved in the tournament express our deepest sympathies to the family of the man who passed away in the earlier accident this morning. It truly puts everything in perspective."

PGA Championship Field: Xander Schauffele ties record

Xander Schauffele was on a tear on Thursday, dropping a nine-under-par 62 on the field. Thursday’s score nets the golfer his second such card, which ties him for the lowest round in a major along with Rickie Fowler (2023 U.S. Open), Branden Grace (2017 Open Championship) and Schauffele’s previous 62 at the 2023 U.S. Open.
