Plot Tour of Duty

Tour of Duty

As the first television drama series about the Vietnam War, Tour of Duty focuses on a single platoon of young U.S. soldiers through their one-year tour of combat duty in Vietnam during the late 1960's. While their own country is rocked by a massive anti-war movement, these young men find themselves thrown into combat in Southeast Asia, where they face enemy troops they can not see and sometimes can not kill. They also face their own fears, as they struggle in a hostile environment just to keep themselves and their fellow soldiers alive. Terence Knox, Kevin Conroy, Stephen Caffrey, Joshua Maurer, Steve Akahoshi, Tony Becker, Eric Bruskotter, Stan Foster, Ramon Franco and Miguel A. Toen ik deze collectie kocht had ik een beetje schrik dat ik me deze serie mooier herinnerde dan het in werkelijkheid was. Maar neen hoor. Het is nog steeds een hele goede serie. Ik ben zeer blij met mijn aankoop. Mooie muziek, goede acteurs. Wel spijtigpijtig dat er geen ondertitels zijn,.

Deze seriereeks is helemaal Top. Het is een oude serie, maar heel erg goed. De kwaliteit is uitstekend, alleen geen ondertiteling, maar dat valt op een gegeven moment niet meer op.

Ik heb deze serie gevolg toen het nog op tv kwam. Vond het helemaal geweldig. Ik wilde deze serie al enige tijd op DVD hebben. Maar de versies die op de markt waren, hadden niet de originele soundtrack. Muziek dat er echt bij past. Deze box heeft dat dus wel. En ik vermaak me wederom. Top serie.

Als je op zoek bent naar de serie uit je herinneringen, dan hoort de originele muziek er gewoon bij. Daarom is dit de enige versie die je zou moeten willen kopen. Beeldkwaliteit en menu's zijn prima in orde. Verpakking is wat het moet zijn, klein boekje erbij met beschrijving p. Aflevering. De verhaallijn staat overigens nog steeds als een huis. Waar sommige oudere series traag zijn, vond ik het tempo van Tour of duty nog steeds prima te behappen.

Een wat geromantiseerde versie van de Vietnam oorlog. Het gaat over een groep infanterie soldaten in de jungle die per afdeling een situatie meemaken. De karakters en hun interacties zijn geloofwaardig. Mooi om te zien hoe verschillende soorten mensen omgaan met de ellende en keuzes die de oorlog met zich meer brachten. De series is vooral bekend voor het gebruik van heel veel goede muziek uit de periode. Er is ooit een DVD versie verschenen met andere niet copyright muziek. Dit is de versie met de muziek die origineel bij de TV serie hoort.

Ik had twijfels om de serie te bestellen. Vooral een beetje door de onduidelijkheid van de originele muziek en het kopen via BOL.com bij een andere (voor mij onbekende) winkel. Ik heb de serie dan toch besteld bij BOL.com. Ik kreeg onmiddellijk een bericht van DVDOutlet om te melden dat de bestelling bij hun geplaatst was en ze hebben me verder op de hoogte gehouden van de verdere stappen. De serie is een herinnering aan mijn jeugd toen ik dat 's avondschool laat op tv mocht zien als kind. De serie heeft geen ondertitels wat voor sommige mensen misschien een minpunt kan zijn. De originele muziek is dan wel een voorzien wat toch een grote meerwaarde is. Zeker een aanrader zowel de serie als de verkoop door DVDOutlet via BOL.com

Blijft een fantastische serie, zelfs 25 jaar na dato! Niks geromantiseerd, alle problemen die bij de g.i.'s waren komen aan bod. Helaas niet ondertitelt, maar na een korte tijd absoluut geen issue meer.

Super reeks met de originele muziek erbij. Misschien wel geen Nederlandse ondertitels erbij. Maar de Originele reeks en originele muziek laten u dat wel snel vergeten en brengen je zo terug in het oorlogsgebied van Vietnam. Ook leuk zijn de extra documentaires die er per seizoen op staan, die geven je extra inzicht in de reeks en de opnames van "Tour of Duty" Enkel de muziek cd's zitten er wel niet bij van de reeks, dat is wel jammer.

Dvanáctiměsíčnímu období, které sloužili američtí vojáci ve Vietnamu, se říkalo „Tour of Duty". O rok později, kdy byla do kin vpuštěna Oscary oceněná ČETA, se objevil na amerických televizních obrazovkách nový válečný seriál z období války ve Vietnamu, který diváky vrhnul do krvavých bojů vietnamské džungle roku 1967. Seriál se nesnaží jen o věrné zachycení tvrdých bojů mezi americkou armádou, Viet Congem a NVA, ale také líčí osudy jednotlivých vojáků čety sloužící na polní základně „Beruška" hluboko ve vietnamské džungli. Společně se seržantem Andersonem, kterému chlapi v jeho četě neřeknou jinak než „Zeke", můžeme sledovat každodenní rutinu na základně, denní i noční patroly a někdy i speciální mise po boku zvláštních jednotek. Seriál byl několikrát oceněn prestižní cenou Emmy

Amerikanische Bomber starten Vergeltungsangriffe auf Nordvietnam. 500.000 US-Soldaten befinden sich in Südvietnam, um der dortigen Regierung beizustehen. Die Schwäche der US-Armee im Dschungeleinsatz, das Leid und der unsinnige Tod werden schonungslos gezeigt. Den Produzenten ging es darum, den Vietnamkrieg auf realistische Weise darzustellen. Den Amerikanern verlangten sie damit ein Stück Vergangenheitsbewältigung ab.

• Operation Vietnam

As the first television drama series about the Vietnam War, Tour of Duty focuses on a single platoon of young U.S. soldiers through their one-year tour of combat duty in Vietnam during the late 1960's. While their own country is rocked by a massive anti-war movement, these young men find themselves thrown into combat in Southeast Asia, where they face enemy troops they can not see and sometimes can not kill. They also face their own fears, as they struggle in a hostile environment just to keep themselves and their fellow soldiers alive. Terence Knox, Kevin Conroy, Stephen Caffrey, Joshua Maurer, Steve Akahoshi, Tony Becker, Eric Bruskotter, Stan Foster, Ramon Franco and Miguel A. Nunez, Jr. star as the infantrymen who represent diverse racial, cultural and philosophical backgrounds but must ultimately depend on one another to get through the war alive.

• NAM - Dienst in Vietnam

Pendant la guerre du Vietnam à la fin des années 60, on appelait "tour of duty" l'appel de civils pour rejoindre les corps de l'armée pour une période d'un an. L'Enfer du Devoir est la première série dramatique à choisir comme sujet, et comme contexte, la guerre du Vietnam. Pourtant quand la série commence, 20 ans se sont déjà écoulés depuis ces évènements... La série se concentre sur un peloton de l'armée américaine et ses soldats, la compagnie Bravo, envoyés au Vietnam. Ils tentent de survivre, non seulement aux combats mais aussi à leurs propres peurs et démons...

• Commando Viêt Nam

De serie bestaat uit drie seizoenen. In het eerste seizoen, beginnend in het tweede deel van 1967, behoort het peloton tot de "196th Light Infantry Brigade" met als basiskamp Chu Lai. Het peloton is in Chu Lai slechts enkele malen terug te vinden en is grotendeels te zien op "Firebase Ladybird" of in de jungle. Het tweede seizoen start in januari 1968 waar we het peloton nu zien als onderdeel van MACV (Military Assistence Command Vietnam), gestationeerd te Vliegbasis Tân Sơn Nhứt, Saigon. Hier voeren ze verschillende taken uit welke gaan van bewakingsopdrachten tot de typische "Search and Destroy missions". Ook spelen in dit seizoen meerdere vrouwelijke personages mee om zo meer vrouwelijke kijkers te trekken. Dit betekende volgens de makers het einde van de serie, al werd het ook veroorzaakt door de programmering tegenover andere populaire series op andere zenders. Het derde seizoen brengt het peloton naar "Camp Barnett", een "Special Forces Camp" waar ze wegens een tekort aan manschappen ter ondersteuning worden toegevoegd aan de "Special Forces Group". Uiteindelijk worden de hoofdpersonages opgenomen in de 'Studies and Observations Group' (SOG) genaamd als Team-Viking dat zowel opereert in Vietnam als Cambodja. Naar het einde van seizoen drie worden de SOG-operaties stopgezet en wordt het peloton opnieuw gevormd. De serie was vernieuwend omdat zij in tegenstelling tot veel andere films en series ook regelmatig ernstige verwondingen en doden toonde. Ook kwamen sociale problemen als racisme, zelfmoord, terrorisme, oorlogsmisdaden en drugsgebruik aan bod.
