After splashing around in the refreshing waters, you’ll get to see the infamous Sikia cave, before stopping at the infamous old pirate bay of Kleftiko. Here, you’ll have more time for fun in the water before enjoying a curated lunch on board.

One of my favorite parts was enjoying the private beach of Gerakas and its hot springs, as well as the abandoned Sulphur Mines!

With a fantastic captain to take you to all kinds of scenic locations on a brand-new vessel, you can’t go wrong! Complete with a shower, restroom, and wi-fi onboard, you won’t want for anything.

Your captain can make suggestions if you’d like to enter and explore some of them! Next up is the place often known as the most beautiful place on Milos: Kleftiko Beach.

This postcard-perfect spot comes with a fascinating history of pirates and smugglers who once frequented these hidden shores, but today it’s your time to enjoy it!

Don’t forget to check out the huge roofless cave of Sykla, where only small boats like yours can witness the large tree that hangs over the opening at the top!

3. Milos Full-Day Sailboat Cruise with Food and Open Bar

  • Duration: 9 hours
  • Departure:  Adamantas 848 01
  • Departure Time: 8:45 AM
  • Includes: Captain + 1 or 2 crew, tour guide English/Greek, fuel, meal, open bar, speakers, snorkeling gear, lifejackets, goods and taxes fees

The Mediterranean gem of Milos is filled with tourist sites and hidden treasures to explore, but you can’t visit without having seen it from the water.

The Milos Full-Day Sailboat Cruise with Food and Open Bar Tour starts off in the morning so you have the entire day for fun and gallivanting over the crystal-clear waters.

This tour is definitely one of the most exciting of its kind, with the captain and crew playing music on board to set a lighthearted mood. Setting off first thing in the morning, you’ll avoid the crowds and have the electric blue waters all to yourselves.

Your tour guide/captain is super friendly, and makes everyone feel welcome, along with an either 1 or 2-person crew to help them (depending on party size). With an open bar and a fresh-cooked meal, you’re sure to feel relaxed and comfortable, too!

You’ll get to see and explore just about every inch of Milos – even venturing to places that most tourists don’t get to see! Skinopi and Klima fishing Villages are perfect for photo ops, and you’ll make your first stop at the dramatic Cape Vani for some snorkeling and splashing around!

Kalogries Beach is also a great spot for a relaxing swim, before exploring the uniquely uncapped Sykia Cave.

The secluded Kleftiko is the highlight for most, with its white volcanic rocks, elaborate caves, vibrant turquoise waters, and exclusivity.

After spending some time here, you’ll get to discover the pristine landscapes of Poliegos Island, as well aas Sarakiniko (if weather permits). This will undoubtedly be one of your favorite activities in Milos, just like it was for us!

4. Milos Small-Group Full-Day Cruise with Snorkelling and Lunch

  • Duration: 8 hours
  • Departure:  PCFW+PH9 Adamantas, Greece
  • Includes: Snacks, lunch, alcoholic beverages, soda, bottled water, use of snorkeling gear, GoPro camera, wi-fi on board

This next tour I found to be very similar to the previous one, with more of a focus on music and a bit of a “party” vibe.

The Milos Small-Group Full-Day Cruise with Snorkelling and Lunch Tour kind of felt like one of the typical Croatian boat days, where everyone has access to alcoholic beverages, snacks, and loud music blasting on board.

Of course, if your party is looking for something more relaxing, there are plenty of other tours on this guide that are perfect for that, too.

Starting out at 10:00 am, you’ll meet the captain and crew where they’ll escort you on board your vessel for the day. Right from the very beginning it was obvious that the captain and skipper were serious about making sure we all had a great time, paying attention to the slightest detail.

Not only that, but the captain was fantastic at the helm, and kept us safe throughout. Pass by Klima, where the infamous Venus de Milo statue was first discovered, which currently is exhibited at the legendary Louvre Museum.

As you take photos and videos of the jaw-dropping colorful homes, while the crew tells you interesting facts and historical accounts of the area. After, you’ll have some time at Cape Vani for a guided tour of Adamas bay, where I was surprised to see a centuries-old iron and manganese mine!

Become refreshed at Kalogries Beach with a swim and snorkel, with the snorkeling gear that they provide you with. Refuel with a light brunch on board before a longer stop at Sikia where you’ll go for an exhilarating swim, then take a dinghy into a magnificent cave.

Kleftiko Beach is next, which is perfect for photo ops in and out of the water before doing a tour of Agio Dimitrios.

5. Full Day Sailing Cruise on the West Side of Milos Island

  • Departure: Kinigos Restaurant, Adamantas 848 01
  • Departure Time: 9:00 AM
  • Includes: Breakfast, lunch, coffee and/or tea, soda/pop, alcoholic beverages, snacks, use of snorkeling gear

How would you like having one of your closest friends take you on a cruise around paradise for a day of fun and adventure? If that sounds interesting to you, the Full Day Sailing Cruise on the West Side of Milos Island Tour  is just the one for you!

If it’s your first time in the area, I highly recommend going on one of these comprehensive adventures that will take you to most of the best sites in just one day.

You’ll not only get to enjoy the more “typical” activities like snorkeling and swimming, but you’ll also get to learn a ton about the history and geology of the area, which is worth it on its own!

The company is incredibly well-organized, with every member of the staff incredibly friendly and welcoming. Start off early in the morning and meet them to hop on board and enjoy a delicious, homemade breakfast while you peer out over the turquoise waters.

This cruise perfectly balanced relaxation with excitement, allowing you to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the island, villages, and natural formations from the water.

However, you’ll also have the chance to explore up close, exploring inside caves, under the water, and on beaches.

If you’re a history buff, you’ll absolutely love how much the crew shares about the island’s past and how it’s been inhabited since the Neolithic age!

We loved getting to see Milos’ oldest villages, as well as the distinctive architecture only found here along with the fishing houses. You’ll also have plenty of time to stop at various beaches, including the world-famous Kleftiko Beach with an optional cave tour on their dinghy.

When you come back on board, a freshly-cooked lunch will be waiting for you alongside plenty of drinks!

6. Kleftiko Half-Day Speedboat Cruise With Snorkeling From Adamas

  • Duration: 5 hours
  • Departure Time: 9:30 AM
  • Includes: Boat cruise, guided snorkeling activities, snacks and refreshments, underwater GoPro10, drone photos and videos

Cruising around Milos will transport you back to ancient Greece, where you’ll feel like some kind of Greek God or Goddess amongst the pristine turquoise waters.

With the Adamas: Kleftiko Half-Day Speedboat Cruise with Snorkeling Tour , you’ll get to see natural formations that look like they were carved by the likes of Michelangelo, himself – well, perhaps even more impressive.

Thanks to the fact that you’ll be cruising around on a speedboat, your tour will be much shorter without compromising any of the incredible sights.

This is another fantastic option if you’ve never gone snorkeling before, and are nervous to go about it yourself. This tour includes 2 guided snorkeling sessions with professionals to ensure you’re safe and comfortable the entire time in the crystal clear waters.

On board, the captain and crew are there to assist you and answer any questions you may have after performing a safety briefing. From Adamas Port, you’ll leisurely sail along while learning about the history, geology, art, and culture of this magnificent place.

Check out the emerald green waters of Sykia, where you’ll get to explore inside the sea cave without a roof. It kind of reminded me of a more unforgiving cenote, making it feel like you and your group are the only ones in the world.

I absolutely loved the homemade breakfast after our first stop, which gave me energy and made me supremely free of any hunger I may have had. Kleftiko Bay complex is quite impressive too, with its 3-million-year-old volcanic rocks emerging from the sea.

Learn how this made for the perfect pirate hideout spot, where they’d actually conceal their ships! Oh, and if that weren’t enough, the crew offers drone photos and videos, as well as media from their underwater GoPros to commemorate the experience!

7. Milos Sailing Tour with Snorkeling and Lunch

  • Departure: Pollonia 848 00
  • Includes: Beverages, bottled water, afternoon tea, lunch, snacks, tour escort/host, use of snorkeling equipment, brunch, coffee and/or tea, alcoholic beverages

If you’ve ever dreamt of exploring a Mediterranean paradise off the beaten path, Milos is the perfect option. What better way to experience it than on the Milos Sailing Tour with Snorkeling and Lunch on their top-notch yachts?

Forget the crowded beaches and cookie-cutter vacations and opt for this beautiful voyage through the pristine coastline that’s equally as breathtaking as it is exciting.

Start off in the charming port of Adamas or the picturesque fishing village of Pollonia, where you’ll take a trip around the island. There are plenty of opportunities to plunge into the perfectly blue waters and discover the secrets hidden beneath the surface.

Your tour escort/host is there to point out all kinds of interesting sights, such as “The Bears”: two massive rocks that resemble the furry critters.

Cruise down Milos’ protected west coast, which is a haven for rare flora and fauna under the Natura 2000 program. Here, you may get a glimpse of Kalogries, Agathia, and Amoudaraki beaches.

However, we all know that Kleftiko – the ancient pirate hideout – is the number one destination spot for many travelers. Its labyrinth of white limestone caves and tunnels are each illuminated in their own special way thanks to the dancing sun and sea.

You’ll have tons of time to use the snorkeling equipment on board and leisurely enjoy a refreshing journey underneath the clear waters.

When you get back on board, you’ll get to enjoy a Greek feast of freshly-prepared food and drinks with one of the most beautiful backdrops in the world.

Best Milos Boat Tour – Choosing A Milos Sailing Tour 2024 Guide

Taking a Milos boat tour is an amazing experience, and one of the best ways to see this beautiful Greek island. Here's everything you need to know about choosing a sailing tour in Milos.

A Milos island catamaran tour is the perfect way to see the island from a unique angle.

Boat trips are a perfect way to explore Milos

The Greek island of Milos is renowned for its beautiful landscapes, beaches, and numerous sea caves. This is best represented by Kleftiko , a former Pirate's bay, and a must-see when visiting Milos.

The best way to enjoy the awe-inspiring volcanic coastline, and swim in the crystal clear turquoise waters of Kleftiko and other hidden gems in Milos is to take a sailing trip.

I've been fortunate to have visited Milos twice now, and have taken boat tours on both occasions. They are among the most memorable experiences I've had on Milos, and I highly recommend that you consider a Milos boat tour during your own vacation.

If you're thinking about taking one or two Milos day trips when you're on the island, here's everything you need to know about choosing a sailing trip.

Tips for choosing Milos Boat Tours

As some of the best beaches in Milos can only be reached by boat, I'd suggest taking a Milos sailing tour during your vacation. This is what I did, and loved every minute of it!

There's a few different Milos sailing tours available, and I opted for a full day circumnavigation of Milos. This included highlights such as Poliegos island, Kleftiko beach, Gerakas and more.

There are plenty of other boat tours in Milos available, and most visit Kleftiko beach on Milos. Keep in mind you might prefer a non-windy day for your Milos boat cruise!

All of the boat trips leave from Adamas , which is the main port town in Milos. If you are staying in another area on the island, you'll have to work out how to get to Adamas in time to take your tour.

Milos adventure sailing trips

Best Milos Boat Tours

While you can book a boat trip when you are in Milos, keep in mind that tours do sell out, particularly in the peak season months of July and August. For peace of mind, I suggest booking a Milos boat cruise online before you arrive.

Get Your Guide have a number of interesting cruises around Milos to choose from. Most tours include stops at the pirate caves of Kleftiko, and many include lunch. It's worth comparing the differences of each one to see which you find the most appealing and suitable:

  • Milos Highlights: Full Day Sailing Cruise in a Small Group
  • From Adamas: Full-Day Tour of Milos and Poliegos Islands
  • Kleftiko Full Day Sailing Cruise with Snorkeling & Lunch
  • Kleftiko Half-Day Speedboat Cruise With Snorkeling (from Adamas)

Milos Boat Tour

My experiences of a full day Milos sailing tour started at 8.30 when I boarded the boat Chrysovalandou II catamaran at Adamas port. From here, we followed the route shown around the island in a clockwise direction.

The route our Milos sailing tour followed around the Greek island of Milos

I'll try and break down the areas we visited along with some pictures of Milos, Greece. Here's a short video so you can get a taste of the Milos sailing experience!

Blue seas and unique volcanic rock formations were a highlight of the Milos boat tour

The basic sailing itinerary looked a little like this:

  • Leave Adamas , and sail past the pretty fishing villages of Skinopi, Klima, Fourkovouni, and Areti with their colourful little houses.
  • Sail past the Arkoudes rocks which look a little like a bear. I think I saw a rabbit in the rocks too!
  • Sail up to the Glaronisia volcanic islands with their unique features
  • Sail on to Poliegos island , where there's a stop for swimming
  • On to Firlingos for more swimming
  • On to Gerakos for more swimming
  • Sail to Kelftiko Beach … yes more swimming!
  • Sail back to Adamas port

I think that is more or less what we did on this Milos tour. There was also a delicious lunch in the middle of there somewhere as well!

Kleftiko Milos

If you don't take a boat trip to Kleftiko beach, then you haven't had a proper vacation in Milos!

One of the real highlights of a Milos boat tour, is being able to see Kleftiko Beach . This beach is as iconic as Sarakiniko beach, and is a ‘must see' when visiting Milos island, Greece.

Kleftiko Milos is also known as the ‘ Pirate Bay ‘, and legend has it that one of the caves may have treasure waiting to be found. Will you find it when swimming at Kleftiko beach? Let me know if you do!

Kleftiko Beach

Is Kleftiko a beach? Good question! It often gets referred to as a beach, but in its strictest definition of the word, it's not really. Instead, it is a sheltered bay.

The cluster of naturally eroded white volcanic cliffs, rocks and caves which make up Kelftiko do provide the perfect setting for swimming and relaxation though.

If you've been wanting to get that perfect photo of you diving off the side of a boat, there is probably no better place in the world than Kleftiko Milos !

Kleftiko Caves

You can swim through and into many of the Kleftiko caves and tunnels , depending on the calmness of the sea and the tide.

For the most part, the bay is very well sheltered, and so you'll have the time of your life!

Our catamaran had snorkelling gear available for people to use so they could snorkel at Kleftiko beach. You might want to make sure that any Milos sailing trip you take has the same.

How to book a Milos island sailing tour

I don't think there's a massive need to book a Milos sailing trip weeks in advance, unless visiting the island in August. This is always a busy month no matter where you are in Greece, and you can guarantee that the Milos boat tours will be busy at this time.

However, you can book ahead if you wish. Below, I've given you a few different options of sailing trips around Milos you can choose from.

  • Check that snacks and drinks are included in the price (it was on my tour)

Hi Dave, Great video.Do you know off hand the ferry schedule between Athens(Pireaus) and milos, and are day trips or shorter overnights to other islands not practical? Thanks Again,Best Regards, Jeff and Yvonne Colorado

Hi, Yes I’ve got a post here about the Athens to Milos ferries . Keep in mind that right now, some crossings may not be showing due to the current disruptions in travel worldwide. It is possible to take day trips to nearby islands. The most popular is a day trip to Hydra . You can also take nice weekend breaks (or midweek breaks) at the islands of Tinos and Andros .

Hi Dave, great post about Milos. We will be in Milos around Oct 19, I’ve checked boat excursions for tours around the island and found one, will the weather be warm enough for boating and swimming? I know there are a lot of factors that go into that, but with your experience? Also, if we book I advance and they cancel due to weather do you know if a refund would apply?

Hi Jennifer, It’s always difficult to know what the October weather would do. My feeling is that it would be warm enough for the sailing trip (maybe still bring a fleece though just in case – although you could just as easily need gallons of sun block!). Swimming wise, perhaps a little chilly to spend too long in the water, but swimmable for the brave. In short – I have enjoyed swimming in Greece in October some years, and found it cold in others. The 19th might be pushing it for reliable weather. If the weather is bad, boat companies might suggest an alternative (for example the wind is bad on one side of the island). When trips have to be cancelled, they would refund. I’d just check the small print before booking anything.

That’s for such useful information about Milos and other Greek islands. I have been visiting your page for a while and it has been extremely helpful to me while planning my trip to Greece. I have reaching Milos towards the end of Sep (29th Sep) and planning to do a boat trip. Do you think I need to book in advance or I can book a day ahead while I am on the island? Unfortunately I am only there for 2 full days, so want to make the most out of limited time, shall I go for a full day or half day trip? Thanks for your help Dave!

Hi Varun, I’m glad you’ve found the blog posts useful! I’d say to book in advance, as that way you’re sure to go. Also, it’s one less thing to think about when you’re on vacation. Personally, I’d say a full day has the most value. Whichever you decide, make sure the boat definitely goes to Kleftiko Bay – it’s a real hightlight (at least on a good day with weather!!). Have a great trip to Greece!

Hi Dave! Happy to read your article about sailing around Milos because everybody speaks every time about Santorini… but Milos, Kleftiko, Kimolos, Poliaigos are such amazing places to sail! My favourite area indeed. If you liked sailing I hope you will come back for longer sailing vacations!

Hi Dave, My hubby and I are heading over in mid June 201, is June a really busy time. At the moment I have just hired a car for the 6 days, not decided if I should get a 4×4 for 1-2 of those days or just do a boat trip instead. In saying that I was going to do a boat trip anyway as I figure this is probably a Must if you come to Milos. I am considering also hiring a tinny for a day, if so is it possible to pull up at the beaches in the west or other secluded area’s if the seas are calm? Would I need to book in Advance? Is the port and surrounding area’s of Milos easy to Navigate or is the waterways very busy? I am just trying to get the feel for the island as I have no idea. Any thoughts will be much appreciated I have Never been to Greece Thank Kind regards Nikki Australia

Hi Nikki, Glad to hear you are off to Milos – It’s a great island, and I’m sure you’ll love it! June is not a super busy time. I’d still make sure you have your accommodation booked some months before just so you can be sure you get the hotels or apartments you want. If you’ve already hired the car, I’d say perhaps hire a quad bike for a day as a bit of fun, and also to get to some beaches down the rougher tracks. I think the boat tour is a bit of a must actually. In June, you won’t have overwhelming amounts of people on board either which is a good thing. Not sure about hiring a smaller boat for yourselves. Let me know how you get on with it, so I can update the page and let other travellers know! Waterways are not very busy – (only when the boat tours leave). Some rocks near the shore line. If you are on Milos for 6 days, I would also suggest a day trip over to the nearby island of Kimolos.

Hopeyou get great weather whilst you are here!

hi Dave have been enjoying following your posts. our oldest son Matt is getting married in Greece next year in July. we are bringing our family of 8 for the wedding and holiday – my husband Paul my mum our other 3 kids and 2 of their partners. they r marrying in a village outside Kopanaki in the Peloponnese. (enjoying that road trip blog too) have booked 3 nights on Milos and am trying to book catamaran day trip but both seem booked out is that because it is so far ahead? would they be fully booked already? cheers Rae Aussies

Hi, I answered via email, but as other people may be interested: There is a strong possibility that the company hasn’t sorted their calendars out for next year yet!

Thanks for the great info on Milos! I also just read your Milos guide post. I’m still wondering if I should take a full trip around the island, or just part of it? Did you feel rushed or like you didn’t have quite enough time to take photos, snorkel, etc. with this full island tour?

I’m sure you’ll have enough time to take plenty of photos and enjoy lots of swimming if you take the full island boat tour of Milos!

Milos - A Boat Trip Around the Island - Greece, Europe

In August 2018, I visited Milos Island as part of a Greek Island-hopping holiday . It was my second time on this beautiful island but on this occasion, I truly fell in love with it. The day I spent on a sailing tour was definitely my highlight. I am keen to share the reasons why this should not be missed on any holiday around the Greek archipelago.

If you fancy doing a similar trip, then don’t miss my First Timer’s Guide to Greek Island-Hopping.

Milos Boat Tour – How To Choose The Perfect Milos Sailing Tour For You

Milos is one of the most dramatic islands in the Cyclades due to its volcanic heritage. This has created a 125km coastline full of different minerals, rock formations, multicoloured cliffs & over 70 beaches. In addition, you will find crystal clear waters of all shades of blue & green. As you explore Milos it delivers an impressive geology lesson. However, it is generally one of the smaller and quieter islands in the Cyclades & there are far fewer tourists than many of its more famous neighbours like Santorini , Paros , Naxos & Mykonos.

For a detailed itinerary, check out my guide on the 21 Best Things to Do in Milos .

A Milos boat tour is highly recommended to see the best coastal features of the island & the beaches that are inaccessible by any other means. It also allows you the opportunity to swim in the idyllic small bays with crystal clear turquoise waters.”

Milos Boat Tours – How To Choose The Perfect Milos Sailing Tour For You

All are not created equal.

This was the 2nd time I’d visited Milos & also my second boat tour. On my first, we spent a day on the water but only actually discovered half of the island. The way out to Kleftiko was beautiful with the sun shining. We had plenty of opportunities for tanning on the deck while admiring the island from afar. We stopped for lunch at a restaurant & then headed back the same way.

When the guide came out in her thermals & waterproof jacket we were confused. All we had was our beach clothes. The rest of our tour friends took shelter under the canopy. The only seats left for my sister & me were at the front where we were lashed by waves for the full journey home.

We only had a towel to huddle under to protect us which ended up soaking wet & cold. I thought the trip home would never end but we kept our spirits high & took our soaking bodies straight to the bar for a hot Irish coffee on our return to warm up!”

So, when my friend suggested repeating the experience, I was sceptical….

If you would like to book a boat tour in Milos, Greece, below are a few options:

How Do You Choose Your Boat?

Views of the sea and rocks, Milos boat tour, Greece

After my second tour, I was so blown away by the beauty of the island that I decided to dedicate a whole blog post to the day alone. As a result, I have created the list below to help you when selecting your tour. The day is not cheap so it’s important that you feel you are getting your money’s worth.

Half or Full Island?

I have done both & can categorically say that Milos is so beautiful with amazing geology that it is well worth taking the full island tour if you can.

Half-Day or Full-Day Trip?

As with my previous experience, some tours go around half the island & stop for a sit-down lunch. This means that you will often go out slowly & see the sites but return quickly. The better option is that if you have a full day, use it to see the whole island.

When to Go?

Milos coastline, Milos, Greece

Ask all the questions & book as soon as you arrive on the island. That way you get the best choice & the sellers will recommend the best day for the wind (which can impact where you start, which direction you head, half or full island). Whatever they say about the best day, take their advice if possible. The boat tours will also get booked up more quickly at weekends.

What Else Is On Offer?

Make sure you note all the extras. Many Milos boat tours offer underwater photos, unlimited bar, masks & snorkels. Also, ask about the number of people on the boat as some may be very crowded.

Which Type of Boat?

Tourist boats can be 2-tier & very overcrowded. If you opt for a yacht there are likely to be fewer people & if you do, go for a newer vessel rather than an older one (advice we were given by a local).

Ask a few people before you decide. The attitude of the sellers will often give you a steer as to how the tour is likely to be & cheaper does not often mean better. The boats get back to the harbour after 7pm & this is when they do their selling. Take your time to look around & speak to the vendors so you can more easily see what type of vessel you’ll be travelling in.

Which Boat Did I Choose?

A crowd of tourists on the boat, Milos Boat tour, Greece

We stayed at Hotel Eleni , very close to the port in Adamas & I could not recommend it highly enough. The hotel is run by Eleni herself who is the most adorable, enthusiastic & helpful person you could wish for on reception! Apart from a lovely clean room & great outside terrace, the breakfasts were amazing (a huge array of options for only €7.50 per person). After doing our research at the port we came home to ask Eleni for her advice. She showed us the boat which was run by her husband & son, named after her. She told us which would be the best day to go & called to reserve our places.

All we knew was that if the boat had the same level of attention to detail as its namesake then it would be a fantastic experience. They did not disappoint us!”

What To Expect

Milos Boat Tours – Eleni, Milos Boat Tours, Greece

Sailboat “Eleni” was a 57-foot sailing yacht which held 25 – 36 people. As such it was one of the larger boats of its kind operating in Milos. When we were there it didn’t feel too full & there was plenty of space for those who wanted to enjoy the sun or shelter in the shade. When I visited, the tour was €90 per person (cash only), payable on the day (prices may change so please check before going). We started the tour at 9.30am from Adamas port & arrived back at 7pm. The crew were excellent & we were well looked after, informed, fed & entertained by our excellent guides Palmeta & George.

The extras on the tour included the use of masks for swimming (no snorkels) & photos taken by Palmeta throughout the day with a GoPro. This included underwater pictures, all provided on a CD at the end of the day. For all others, this meant returning to the port after 10pm to pick it up. As we were staying at Eleni’s place, they were delivered to our door!

The food throughout the day cruise was all freshly prepared & delicious. It included pre-breakfast (cake), breakfast (sandwich), pre-lunch (bread & salami), lunch (pasta with tuna & tomato sauce), ice cream & as much wine, ouzo, soft drinks & water as you cared to drink. As long as they know a day before they can also provide a vegetarian option.

What Are The Highlights of a Milos Boat Tour?

During the full-day Milos boat tour, we saw mineral mines, catacombs, colourful fishing villages, the best Milos beaches (some only accessible by climbing down a ladder or swimming to them), pirate caves, rocks of all colours of the rainbow, abandoned villages and sea bluer & clearer than you can really believe is natural. Here are my favourite spots not to be missed:

1. Catacombs

The catacombs are the first place we passed & are carved out of the pumice stone cliffs in caves 150m above the surface of the sea. They have been deemed the most ancient monument of Christianity & used as a cemetery from the end of the 2nd century BC. They are second only to the catacombs of Rome. You can also visit these from the land which sounds like an interesting trip.

Views of Klima on the Milos Boat trip, Greece

Klima is a fishing village with a collection of cottages, all painted brightly, with the sea lapping against them.

It’s very picturesque & if you’re lucky like we were you will also see the men casting their nets as you pass. The good thing is you get to see Klima on the way in & way out so 2 chances to photograph this beautiful spot.”

I would also recommend a visit on foot/bus/car as a walk along by the cottages is stunning. You can read more towards the end of this post.

The Sea and cliffs of Vani, Milos Boat tour, Greece.

Vani has rainbow-coloured rocks rising sharply out of the water due to the plethora of minerals that the cliffs contain. For this reason, it used to be a focus for mining activity & you can still see the remnants of this on the side of the cliff. As you round the cape, they take you really close to the rocks, so you get an impression of how deep the cliffs soar through the water. Here the sea is a beautiful, clear green colour – absolutely spectacular!

4. Sikia Cave

A cave by the sea in Sikia

The area of Sikia Cave is stunning due to the volcanic nature of the island. Black obsidian cliffs lie on top of the white rock. Sikia Cave & beach is only accessible by boat, or swimming. A fig tree stands above the hole where the roof of the cave collapsed & the cave is named after this.

Unfortunately, due to the size of our boat, Eleni couldn’t enter. We could see a few smaller boats which had negotiated their way in. It’s an interesting location, even without being able to go inside…but there’s plenty of beautiful things to explore on this island!

5. Kleftiko

Kleftiko rocks, blue sky & sea, Greece

World-famous Kleftiko is one of the highlights of the day & any Milos boat tour. It is the most photographed spot on the island. Here we got a chance to stop & have a swim in the beautiful turquoise water that surrounds the white rock archway.

The caves here were once a refuge for pirates & if I was a pirate, I could happily hide in this gorgeous spot forever!”

We borrowed masks from the boat, so we could see the rocks under the pristine waters. The fish were swimming under us & we were mesmerised by the ripples in the sandy bed as we swam through the caves.

6. Tsigrado

Although on the boat tour we did not get to this beach, I loved the concept of it. The beach is only accessible if you climb over the cliff & lower yourself down by a ladder & rope. Once there it is clearly a popular place to be & apparently also has a small café.

Suewherewhywhat, Gerakas, Milos Boat trip, Greece

This was one of my favourite beaches in Milos & is again only accessible by boat. We stopped & took up the opportunity to swim there through the crystal-clear water. The boat provides fins & floats if you aren’t a confident swimmer, but we decided to go without. Once on the beach, it is formed of gravel & is a beautiful spot to sit & enjoy the views.

Beware that the gravel has a strong attraction to getting stuck in your bikini & I spent a good 10 minutes to clear mine after a short sit on the beach as the waves lapped my legs!”

Once empty, its great people watching to see the realisation as others stand up to assess the contents of theirs:-)!

8. Polyaigos

Polyaigos is a small island just off Milos with orange & white rocks, forming a dramatic backdrop to the waters which challenge to be the bluest I have seen anywhere. Even I couldn’t believe how filtered & photoshopped the pictures looked without any work & how almost unnatural the colour of the sea is here.

It’s a very inviting swim & a great place to take advantage of the underwater camera with the pristine waters & excellent visibility.

9. Glaronisia Islets

Glaronisia rocks on the Milos Boat trip, Greece

Spectacular & breathtaking are 2 words that sprung to mind as we approached these rocks, looking striped as the formations show their volcanic origins.

Through the impact of great pressure, the rock has shaped into long thin hexagonal columns. They soar from the water to create an otherworldly landscape.”

Apparently, you can only view a similar phenomenon in Tasmania. To me, it resembled a much smaller version of the Giants Causeway in Ireland.

10. Sarakiniko

Passengers stand on deck looking at Sarakiniko rocks from the boat, Milos Boat Tour, Greece

Sarakiniko Beach is made of volcanic white rock which has been eroded by the wind & waves. It literally looks like marble or the surface of the moon. As we passed on the boat brave souls were jumping from the higher rocks into the sea, performing to their audience across the water.

We also visited on foot, taking the bus. Yet another must-do on this stunning island. See below for more details.

11. Arkoudes

Arkoudes or Bear Rock, Milos Greece

This was the final famous site of Milos which we passed on our way back to the port. Arkoudes is also known as “Bear Rock”.

My friend thought it looked more like a rabbit from a distance. At the right angle though, the bear-like resemblance is unmissable. ”

There is no doubt Arkoudes is an impressive sight. However, with all the other incredible formations we had seen today, it kind of paled into insignificance.

Milos is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most beautiful islands I have visited just for its stunning & varied geology. Although I love to recommend this place, please don’t feel pressured to go. I love the fact that it still feels a little less “discovered” than its more famous neighbours!

Where To Stay in Milos

Milos has many options of accommodation & I would recommend staying in Adamas. This will put you close to the busy port with its wide selection of hotels & restaurants. Obviously, my top recommendation would be Hotel Eleni but if you would like to save money then why not try Anna Zisimos? Alternatively, if you feel like totally blowing the budget then check out Arco Solium Suites .

Where else should you visit in Milos?

In terms of Milos, then I would recommend a couple of extra days to explore even more what this stunning island has to offer. My recommendations are:

Sarakiniko Beach

SWWW Sarakiniko White Rocks - Milos Boat Tours

You will have seen this from your Milos sailing tour but it’s well worth closer inspection. We had been told that this is a ‘must-do’ when visiting Milos & I couldn’t agree more. Sarakiniko is nicknamed “Luna Beach” & it truly felt like we were walking on the moon.

The beach is made of volcanic white rock which has been eroded by the wind & waves. It literally looks like you are walking on marble.”

Take a couple of hours to explore (we arrived by bus just after 11 & left at 1pm), swim, relax & marvel at the beautiful rock formations. You can make camp for the day but there is limited actual sand & no shade.

Plaka is an inland town which is very picturesque & well worth a visit. Our first stop was to climb to the top of the Kastro, a church on top of the one very dominant hill. My advice is to get there early & go straight up. This is partly because you can avoid the intense heat & there are fewer people (we were alone). However, the main reason to go early is that it stops you from assessing how high it looks & talking yourself out of the climb (it looks way worse than it actually is!). The views from the top are well worth the effort as you take in the whole island, stunning villages & the sea surrounding Milos from this vantage point.

Beautiful multi coloured houses by the sea, Klima, Greece

From Plaka, we decided it was only a 30-minute walk to get to the picturesque fishing village of Klima. In the midday sun, we started our trek, realising ½ way that it was all downhill & we would need to make it back up in the heat before we could get the bus back home.

The walk was worth it (a drive would be even better!), despite arriving very hot & with a huge sense of foreboding about the return journey.”

Once again, Klima is worth closer inspection than you are able to do from the sailing boat. As mentioned, Klima is a collection of gorgeous fishermen’s cottages, all painted brightly, with the sea lapping against them. It’s very picturesque & in Astakas , you have a welcome restaurant in the centre for some shade & a chance to cool off.

Klima, Milos

Finally, when we decided to brave the walk back up the hill, I came up with the genius plan of trying to hitch a lift & after a few unkeen drivers passed us, we struck lucky with a couple who gave us a lift all the way back to Adamas. Therefore, my advice is to think carefully before you brave the walk, knowing you may have to climb back up in the heat. Be prepared.

In conclusion…

If you haven’t got the picture yet, I love this island & one of the best ways to see everything there is to take a Milos boat tour. I hope I have been able to offer a comprehensive summary of what you need to consider when you are planning your perfect trip. Milos is one of the islands not to be missed on your Greek Island Hopping Itinerary around the Cyclades.

I have never done any Greek Island hopping so it is lovely to hear about these lesser-known islands that can offer great adventures. The Eleni trip certainly fitted a lot of sights in and I would love to experience the snorkelling in that clear blue water. The last boat trip I went on was in Jamaica and involved rum which got a bit messy!! Boat trips are such a great way to sights only accessible by the water and of course, make new friends. Great photos – they really make me want to go now!

Thank you, Angela, & I’m glad I’ve sold in a trip to Milos! I understand about the rum on the Jamaican boat trip & have to admit that this one finished with plenty of white wine too…rude not to when they offered it complimentary! 😉 Sue x

I have not been to any Greek Island yet! The different unique rock formations you have described here are simply amazing. The rainbow colored rocks, the orange and white rocks and the hexagonal column structures are all wonderful. I would love to take a trip to Milos and discover these someday. Thanks for pointing this hidden gem of a place! 🙂

Thank you Jan & glad I’ve managed to add Milos to your list when you get to Greece! Sue x

I would absolutely love a boat tour like this one! And I really appreciate your advice about how to select the right boat and tour. What a beautiful island–I really need to get to Greece soon.

Thank you Wendy, glad you found the post useful & hope you can make the trip soon. Stay Safe, Sue x

Accept for the sailing part, I would love to see that with my own eyes. We did a sailing tour some years ago and ended up in a HUGE storm, huge enough that we saw the waves above the mast… scary as hell! So that makes me seasick as soon as I am on a dock.

Wow, Ann! That sound really scary & not surprised it has put you off the idea of exploring by boat. Thank you for sharing. Sue x

The irony of the whole thing is that I am working as a saleswoman… selling boats and boatequipment 😀

That’s brilliant! 🙂

Looks idyllic. It’s been years since I’ve been to Greece. Was hoping to be there last month but obviously that didn’t happen. Very interested to read about this island as know nothing about Milos Island at all and it looks quite stunning.

So sorry you had to cancel your trip, Sarah. It’s such a tough time for us travellers, I should have been in Iceland right now too. I hope you manage to get there once we can travel again & that Milos will be on your itinerary. Sue x

I’m a little be scared to begin my next round of Greek Island Hopping, because I’m fearful that once I start I’ll never stop! I visited Greece for the first time last year, and I loved it, but we’ve only visited one chain of islands, and even then, not all of them. The Greek hospitality is wonderful, and add to that the food, and the water, and the boat trips, and you have a recipe for success.

Thank you, Jay & I know just how you feel! I have done a similar trip to this 6 times now & my friend recently suggested returning & I signed up immediately! Such an amazing, beautiful & relaxing part of the world. Sue x

So lovely. It makes me want to go even more. The Greek Isles are on my list especially after watching Mama Mia 1 & 2.

Thank you, Marguerite & Mamma Mia always gets you in the mood to go to Greece! Glad I have added to the urge 😉 Sue x

Greece has been on my to-go list forever. Your post really makes me think of packing my backs right-away and head to the blue waters of Milos! What wonderful pictures. And boat tours are such a refreshing way to relax and let the breeze do its magic on our bodies.

Thank you for your comment & really pleased I fuelled your urge to visit. I hope you enjoy the island as much as I did when you get there. Sue x

Living in Crete has given wonderful opportunities to visit many of the Greek Islands (right now, I’m on the island of Kythira). Milo is certainly high on a list to visit. I have only ever heard wonderful insights about this island and you’ve provided more inspiration (not that it was needed). ? ?

Thank you, Marilyn & I’m very jealous that you have made a home in Greece. I hope you enjoy Milos as much as I do when you do make it there. Safe travels, Sue x

Thank you very much indeed Sue! as a new solo traveler this will be my first time in Greece and after reading your information definitely this is the winner ticket!!! But having only 12 days where 4 days I will be in Athens, do you think Milos for 3 days – with a full day sailing tour and Santorini for 5 days will be a good choice? or any suggestions? All the Best and Thank you again for such a great, practical, friendly and helpful blog!!! x

Thank you, Mariella! I am so excited for you to start your solo journey & Greece is a fantastic choice. If you haven’t already, please also check out my other guides & I have one on Paros & more on Milos, Naxos & Santorini still to come in future posts too. 3 days for Milos is a good amount of time & gives you a few options to get the best weather conditions to make the most of your boat trip too. Santorini for 5 days is quite some time. I’m not sure what time of year you are planning to go but in peak season it can get very busy & is also the most expensive island. Please make sure you do the walk from Fira to Oia while you’re there – it’s amazing! I would consider trying to fit 3 islands into your 8 days island hopping if you can. If you enjoy beaches then the best ones aren’t in Milos or Santorini. My recommendation for an extra would be Paros – they say it’s like Santorini but 20 years ago. Less busy but very classy & a bit more budget friendly. Naxos is great for beaches & cheaper still. Please let me know if you have any more questions – I love Greece & am always happy to help. Safe travels, Sue x

Milos has been on my radar for the past two Summers. The opportunity for me to spend a week enjoying the sights you’ve shared, will certainly be worth the wait.

Thank you Marilyn & I hope you get there soon. I love Milos!

I just got back from a trip to Greece 2 days ago which included a visit to beautiful Milos! Thanks to your blog, my friend and I did the trip around the island on the Eleni and it was one of our top 2 experiences on our trip to Greece! Just to give you an update, I booked this through Sailing Milos. It was 80 Euros for the all day trip and they took my credit card number to reserve at booking. My friend and I visited their office in Adamis the day before and the lovely Alexandra let us split the cost on each of our cards The wonderful Dora was our guide and took great care of us! She is like the Energizer bunny! They didn’t have a GoPro, so no underwater photos/video, but Dora took wonderful pictures of the guests at the Instragram spots. We had a PERFECT day on the Eleni seeing the incredible island of Milos! Thanks for the recommendation!

Thank you Margy for your update & for letting me know. I’m so glad you enjoyed your trip & that Eleni delivered once again! You are more than welcome & thank you again for the feedback. 🙂

This Might Be the Most Photogenic Island in Greece — With a Moon-like Landscape, Gorgeous Sea Caves, and Some of the Bluest Water You've Ever Seen

Here’s your ultimate guide to Milos, the low-key Cycladic island that became an Instagram sensation.

Best Hotels and Resorts

Best time to visit, how to get there, areas to visit, how to get around.

With its winning trifecta of sandy beaches, boutique hotels, and unpretentious tavernas, the Greek island of Milos seduces couples, water lovers, and gastronomes alike. There's no denying the Cycladic isle, where the famed Venus de Milo marble statue was unearthed by a farmer in 1820, is breathlessly romantic. Otherworldly landscapes sculpted by wind and sea shot to fame via Instagram in recent years, transforming the once low-profile island into a sought-after hot spot.

Rich in minerals and precious metals, Milos has been mined since the Neolithic era, starting with obsidian. Its volcanic origins explain the kaleidoscope of colors gracing the rugged cliffs and coastlines. But tourism wasn’t taken seriously here until recently. Today, Milos features prominently among Travel + Leisure ’s World’s Best Award-winning destinations . Travelers are drawn to natural phenomena like the bone-white cliffs of former pirate lair Kleftiko and Sikia sea cave with azure waters ideal for snorkeling. Top of the list for travelers are two beaches: Papafragas and the lunar-like Sarakiniko. And let’s not forget the traditional technicolor boathouses.

"Milos offers the cultural connection many of today’s travelers are seeking," Mina Agnos , a T+L A-List advisor and founder of Travelive , said. It's ideal for those looking for a “laid-back vacation focused on culture, beaches, food, yachting, and relaxation,” she added. Foodie experiences, island tours, and boat charters are especially popular, but with limited hotel inventory, early booking is key, notes Agnos.

Here’s how to plan the perfect island escape to Milos, Greece.

Top 5 Can’t Miss

  • Explore the moonscape-like beach of Sarakiniko. The bravest dive into a cobalt Aegean below.
  • Stroll around the small fishing village of Klima, where traditional boathouses come in all shades of the rainbow.
  • Take a boat tour of Kleftiko and Sykia sea cave, best seen from a private yacht charter.
  • Catch the sunset from a church courtyard in the island capital of Plaka.
  • Chow down on delicious, farm-to-table food at O! Hamos!, Milos’ best-loved taverna.

Melian Boutique Hotel & Spa

Honeymooners flock to Melian Boutique Hotel & Spa , set on manicured grounds on the island’s northeastern tip. According to Agnos, “the little oasis” is a consistent winner with clients — not only for its personalized attention, but also for its waterfront location in Pollonia and romantic design, which includes four-poster brass beds.

Milos Breeze Boutique Hotel

A family-owned property with warm service, Milos Breeze Boutique Hotel is a firm favorite among travelers. “It really conveys the feeling of the island and makes people feel like they’re being welcomed into somebody’s home,” said Agnos. Plus, its elevated location lends an air of seclusion and delivers panoramic views of Pollonia.

Domes White Coast Milos

Situated on the northern coast, Domes White Coast Milos is “a little more remote,” but worth the extra effort to reach for the high-end service, according to Agnos. A member of upscale Greek hotel brand Domes Resorts, the adults-only property has 30 white suites with uninterrupted sea views, and Sarakiniko is just a seven-minute drive away.

Skinopi Lodge

With seven, secluded, stone-built villas perched on a scrubby hillside above the island’s deep natural harbor, this sublime retreat was fashioned for the wild at heart. Surrounded by olive trees, thyme, and lavender, Skinopi Lodge offers a contemporary take on traditional syrmata. Even better, a private swimming spot lies just few steps away.

White Pebble Suites

A dream come true for its three Greek-Australian female founders, White Pebble Suites throws a curveball at classic Cycladic architecture. Sinuous lines flow between the 12 cream-hued suites of this design-savvy couple favorite in Pollonia. Earthy textiles, polished cement, and wicker accents make for a soothing blend.

Visit an otherworldly beach.

Formed from volcanic pumice sculpted by the wind and sea, Sarakiniko’s lunar-like appearance, contrasting with cobalt waters, is surreal. Only the strongest swimmers should consider cliff diving into the sea, which can become rough when northerlies blow through. Kids can explore old mining caves and marvel at a shipwreck washed ashore.

See unique boathouses.

Check out Milos’ traditional boathouses, known as syrmata, where fishermen would store their wooden boats for the winter. Painted in vivid red, blue, green, or yellow shades, many have been converted into ultra-minimalist holiday dwellings. The fishing village of Klima is well-known for its syrmata, but minuscule Firopotamos is equally appealing.

Explore by boat.

“Milos is a great place to charter a sailboat, yacht, or RIB [rigid inflatable boat] because there are so many places only accessible by sea,” said Agnos. Your trusty captain will transport you to the towering limestone cliffs of Kleftiko — once a pirate hideout — Sikia sea cave, or off-radar Polyegos isle to swim in ultramarine waters.

Go on an off-road excursion.

Milos’ western flank is so untamed that it’s off-limits to rental cars. Instead, take an off-road guided tour . Highlights include a visit to an inactive volcano, bird-watching at the Achivadolimni wetlands, and a hike through an abandoned manganese mine. End your day with a refreshing dip at a remote beach.

Uncover geological wonders.

You don’t have to be a science expert to enjoy a tour unearthing Milos’ geological wonders, according to Agnos. You’ll visit the Milos Mining Museum , salt pans, and a sunken crater, among other highlights. Perhaps the most evocative sight is the abandoned sulphur mines, replete with rusted-out wagons and ghostly buildings.

Pore over a fascinating array of sand exhibits and pick up memorabilia made with sand, wood, and glass from Milos Sand Gallery. At Totem, freshen up your wardrobe with a breezy cotton dress or colorful sun hat. Meanwhile, Pliatsiko’s one-of-a-kind items such as cross-stitch embroidered earrings and macramé necklaces are hard to resist.

Fashion boutique Vanilla carries resort wear by Greek designers, including bold print dresses and flowing caftans. Foodies should make room in their suitcase for delectable local goodies like sundried tomato paste, available at Ark of Tastes. Tip: Don’t leave without sampling the watermelon pie.

This wildly popular taverna, which sources raw ingredients from the family farm and local producers, doesn't accept bookings, but it’s worth waiting in line. Choose standout dishes from a whimsical handwritten menu, including slow-cooked wild goat with lemon, mustard, and marjoram and braised chickpeas with curry, cumin, and red peppers.

Situated in the traditional village of Trypiti, Barriello has cemented its reputation as Milos’ most innovative dining venue. Chef-owner Takis Loukakis sources ingredients from his organic farm, serving dishes such as lamb picanha with black garlic, eggplant, and miso as well as vegan fare like king oyster mushroom carpaccio.

A spectacular setting for lunch or a sunset dinner, Klima’s sole restaurant is known for serving some of the best seafood on the island. Kritharoto (orzo) with shrimp and lobster spaghetti are among the highlights at Astakas, but if it’s grilled fish you’re after, take your pick from the day’s catch.

Situated on the water in the fishing settlement of Mandrakia, old-school taverna Medusa is a choice lunch and sunset dinner spot, so it’s always busy. Watch fishermen untangle nets and potter about their wooden caiques as you dine. Don’t miss the grilled eel with fava, fried calamari, and pitarakia (a local cheese pie).

Alevromilos

Chef Vassilis Papikinos showcases Milos’ wealth of produce through Cycladic cuisine that marries comfort and creativity. At his restaurant Alevromilos in Parasporos, he also blends in Italian influences, crafting dishes like skordolazana (handmade tagliatelle with a garlic sauce). For dessert, fresh local figs are served with xynomizithra cheese and honey.

Agnos suggests visiting Milos between mid-May and early October. “Seasonality is less of a factor than it used to be,” she said. “More clients are traveling in the shoulder season.” July and August are peak tourist months, so expect the island to be bustling with fellow visitors and cruise passengers. Summer is also the hottest time of year, though cooling northerly winds can take the edge off. While the Aegean waters are still rather cool for swimming in May, you may well have beaches almost completely to yourself. June is one of the best months to visit, with long, languid days and comfortable temperatures. Meanwhile, September is proving increasingly attractive for many travelers, followed by October, when the island winds down and prepares to close shop for the season.

The quickest way to reach Milos is by plane. Flights from Athens International Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos) to Milos operate daily and take about 45 minutes. Alternatively, take the ferry from Piraeus. A fast catamaran takes around three hours and 25 minutes to reach the island. Milos also features on cruise line itineraries, including those of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection , Ponant , SeaDream Yacht Club , and Celestyal Cruises .

Head up to Milos’ hilltop capital Plaka, where the maze-like alleyways and whitewashed homes are characteristically Cycladic. The ideal time to visit is just before sunset, which is best viewed from the courtyard of Panagia Korfiatissa church. Arrive early to nab a good spot. Agnos suggests “visiting the town’s little shops, jewelry boutiques, and galleries.”

Spend a day roaming around Pollonia village. Take shade beneath tamarisk trees on the sandy beach and watch fishing caiques rhythmically bob on the water. Pay a visit to the Kostantakis Winery and sample cave-aged wines. When dinnertime rolls around, take your pick from the plentiful dining options lining the town jetty.

Jump in your rental and take the ferry from Pollonia to neighboring Kimolos island. Make your way to the Goupa-Kara settlement and walk among picture-perfect boathouses. Cool off in the cyan waters of Prassa Beach, then head up to the main town of Horio to stroll along cobblestoned paths, pausing for meze at a taverna.

Rental Car: Book a rental car well in advance, particularly if you're visiting during peak season. “I recommend a car rental on Milos. For people comfortable with driving, it’s the best way to get around. Otherwise, have a driver on call,” said Agnos. Tip: Stick to paved and gravel roads, which can be narrow, and rely more on road signs than Google Maps.

Taxi: Silver taxis are available at the airport and there is a cab rank near the port in Adamas. They may cost more if booked via a hotel. Prices vary, ranging from around 15 euros from Adamas to Plaka and about 30 euros from the airport to Pollonia.

Bus: Milos has a small yet relatively comfortable bus fleet . Routes connect the airport with Adamas. From Adamas, you can reach Pollonia, Plaka, Sarakiniko, and Papafragas, among other destinations. Tickets cost two euros.

  • Full Day Cruise from Paros to Milos

Looking for an experience you will never forget while in Paros? Sail to the nearby astonishing island of Milos for a unique full-day cruise. Dive in its turquoise waters, discover its colorful volcanic beaches and surrender to its unparallel beauty.

In this full day cruise you will depart from Paros and head towards Milos. On your way, you will make a short stop to the small islet of Kalogiroi, where you will see magnificent rocks forming big hexagon prisms. You will then cruise towards Glaronisia complex and reach the cavern of Papafragas in Milos, a deep sea cave, where you can swim in green-blue waters between white-grey rocks leading to the open sea, snorkel and enjoy this unique geological phenomenon.  Afterwards, you will visit the Navagio (Shipwreck), where you will make a stop to swim in its deep waters, see the old shipwreck that is situated 8 – 10 meters below surface level. Next, you will stop in Sarakiniko, one of the most photographed beaches in the Aegean. Its magical landscape will give you the feeling of standing on the surface of the moon. Here you will swim in deep turquoise waters, dive off the remarkable white volcanic rocks and enjoy the famous fiords.

Then, you will head to the north towards the Kabanes cape of and reach Mandrakia, where you can admire the hundreds of small creeks, reefs and rocks that barely make it out of the sea surface, as well as colorful “syrmata” (parking for boats). You will then continue your cruise along the coast of Milos to reach the traditional fishermen’s village of Fyropotamos, famous for its traditional houses “syrmata”, situated right at the sea to shelter the fish boats in the winter. Here, on brightly painted doors, you can have your postcard – like photo of Milos! Next, you will cruise along the twin islets of Akrathi and Arkadi that “guard” Adamas’ port and reach cape Vani. Soon after, you will reach Sykia cave, a roofless cave with shiny waters and a small beach. Sykia is the perfect place for snorkeling, as it is surrounded by corrals that take different colors depending on the sunbeams that light them. After your dives in Sykia, you will pass from cape Psalis and change your course to reach one of the top-sights in Milos, Kleftiko, known also as “The Meteora Rocks of the Sea”. Kleftiko is one of the most photographed landscapes in Greece, famous worldwide. After enjoying this impressive location with dramatic rock formations coming out of the sea, forming natural caves and underwater passages, you will continue to see the tens of small beaches and bays on the south side of Milos, such as Gerontas, Firiplaka, Agios Sostis, Provatas, and Palaiochori. Finally, you will arrive at the amazing beach of Gerakas, with the unique grey and pink sand that flows like a waterfall from the mountain and the small cavities with hot spring waters from the volcano of Milos. It is really worth swimming in the amazing blue waters of Gerakas. You will then head to the renowned Sulphur mines of Milos, were you will make and your final stop. Before heading back to Paros, you will have the opportunity to visit the old mine, which was operating until the mid-1950s, and see the hot rocks and the red water coming out between them, and was abandoned abruptly, almost overnight, making it a true “Ghost” town.

This tour is private for small groups of 1 – 7 persons.

Children and infants are welcome to participate with parental guidance.

All boat tours are weather permitting and may be a subject to change without prior notice.

Georgia McGrath

We had an amazing time on royal blue! Even with not having the best weather, George was the best captain! He made sure we were comfortable, went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time and we had great conversations. We will be recommending royal blue to everyone that visits Milos, booking a private boat tour is the best option by far.

Justin Warburton

Thanks to George we had the most amazing day cruising around to Polyaigos and Kimolos. George is so lovely and knowledgeable which made our experience even better. He took us to some of the most beautiful places some of which we had all to ourselves. George provided delicious food and drinks, and his hospitality throughout the day was great. The boat was in impeccable condition too. By far the highlight of our trip to Milos 😁 highly recommend booking with George for your next Milos holiday.

” Excellent boat tour to Kleftiko! The crew is friendly, funny, and helpful. The swimming was fantastic. Bring your snorkel gear if you want to snorkel rather that swim. We saw lots of fish and the water was great! I cannot recommend highly enough. “

Kim Kardashian Says A Lot of Weird Rumors About Her Are True

Video shows brawls and trash at orange crush spring break event, spring breakers can't stop brawlin', trash the ocean.

Spring Break reached rowdy new heights outside Savannah, GA ... as several violent fights broke out, despite increased police presence.

Thousands flocked to Tybee Island this past weekend for the annual Orange Crush gathering ... and it didn't take long for chaos to ensue. Videos from the party weekend show countless intoxicated attendees doing everything from littering to fighting.

Check it out ... a group of women are seen wailing on each other, with one fighter ripping the bathing suit top off another. Few intervene in the brawl ... choosing instead to film the fight on their respective phones.

Partygoers also trashed the island's picturesque beaches ... as large amounts of garbage notably made its way into the ocean after being discarded on the sand.

Heading into the Spring Break weekend, Tybee Island increased its police presence ... with cops stationed at all road points. Remember, Savannah State University severed its ties with Orange Crush in 1991 after violent incidents and a drowning tainted the festival.

The party weekend returned in 2020 ... before taking another hiatus sparked by the pandemic. Now Orange Crush is back -- seemingly wilder than ever ... with tens of thousands of people overrunning the 3-mile island.

Waiting for your permission to load TikTok Post.

Major Bob Holley of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources tried to paint a more peaceful picture of the weekend. He told WSAV3 ... "We have a little bit heavier of a presence, which gives a little bit of a safer environment for people. I think when there’s a good law enforcement and public safety presence, people can relax and when they can relax things tend to go well."

It seems the major needs to take a peek on social media for a clearer account of what went down.
