UK Travel Planning

Best UK Tours 2023/4 – Reviews & Itinerary Guide

By: Author Tracy Collins

Posted on Last updated: June 13, 2023

Taking one of the many UK tours on offer can be a great way to explore the United Kingdom if this is one of your first trips in the UK. There are several advantages to taking a guided or self-guided tour for part (or all) of your time visiting the UK.

Guided tours of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland allow you to minimise the travel hassle as you’ll have a company to do most of the planning for you, and many of the United Kingdom tour package options we’ve included here allow you to see far more of the UK in a shorter period of time than it would be possible to do on your own.

Guided tours of UK can also offer good value for money, and there are some great UK trip packages on offer. Unfortunately, choosing which UK tour to take is not so easy – as the choice of tours in UK can be really overwhelming. There are just so many, so where to start looking?

In this guide I’ll walk you through some of my favourite UK tour itineraries and how to choose the best UK tour that’s right for you. Whether you’re looking for England tours, cheap UK tours, all-inclusive England vacation packages, or the best coach holidays UK has, you’ll find plenty of options in this blog. I’ve also included some of my recommended cycling and walking holidays UK has for those looking for an active break.

Let’s get started with the best Great Britain tours 2023/4 options on offer!

If you want to compare even more of the best coach trips the UK has or other styles of tour, I recommend TourRadar as a great place to compare tours and read more UK tour reviews.

When planning for your trip to England or the rest of the UK, it’s important to take seasonality into consideration. I go over all the details of the weather and the seasons in the UK here in this article .

When comparing tour operator UK options and which trip to take, be aware that UK tours tend to run with reduced frequency during the winter months, with many of the best UK tour packages running more frequently in spring and summer (April – August).

While some British coach holidays run year-round, speciality outdoor trips such as cycling holidays UK options may only run during summer months.

Best United Kingdom Tours – Choosing the Best Tour for you

When searching for the best UK travel packages and tours, there are many factors to consider. Here are some of the top things I recommend taking a few minutes to think about before deciding on the best tour of Britain for you:

Many of the most popular UK guided tour options are small group tours. UK small group tours vary widely in size with what is deemed to be a ‘small’ group – with some having up to 50 in a group while others keep it to 12 or under.

Coach tours UK options are a convenient way to travel around with the rest of your group and often allow more to be fitted into an itinerary than independently travelling by train.

These range in style and you can find plenty of luxury coach holidays UK options as well as budget bus tours UK.

If you want to take the train but also like the idea of a guided tour, you could consider one of the train holidays UK options listed below.

This is the one most of us forget to consider! In order to fit as much in as possible, some of the popular coach holidays in England and the rest of the UK move very fast, taking in multiple cities and sights in a day and usually spending only 1 night in a place.

This can get tiring, so if you prefer to spend at least a couple of nights in each place, check for itineraries that allow you more time or you could consider choosing one of the self-drive holidays UK options available.

Also, see our tips at the end of this article for extending your stay in the UK by spending extra days in London, Edinburgh, or any of the other common UK tour starting and endpoints.

England vacation packages and tours have different inclusions depending on the style of trip and company.

Most include transport, guide, accommodation and some meals, but check the small print so you know what you are and aren’t getting included on tours to England.

The entrance fees to many sights are often not included in tour pricing.

Best for fitting lots of England in at a great price

Starting in London and finishing in Edinburgh, this 10 day London – Scotland tour by Trafalgar Tours England is a great option for those who want to see as much as possible during their trip and don’t mind travelling at a faster pace.

One of the popular tours of England and Scotland, this itinerary spends 3 days taking in the sights of London at the start of the tour, so you don’t need to worry about booking additional time at the start of the tour (unless you want to).

From London, head north to Oxford and Bath before crossing the Welsh borders and exploring some fine Welsh castles . You’ll also visit Chester, Lancaster and Hadrian’s wall before finishing in Edinburgh.

If you want to include a trip to Wales in your UK tour itinerary then this is a great tour to go for, and history lovers will enjoy every stop of this trip that showcases the UK’s history from the Wars of the Roses to Roman Bath – you even get to stay at Ruthin Castle in Wales – a 13th century castle with its original moat!

Best for seeing it all in seven days

If you only have seven days to spend in the UK, this whistle-stop tour will whisk you up and down the length and breadth of Britain to introduce you to the highlights. Included on the itinerary are a list of destinations for day trips outside London – and beyond.

The cities of Bath, Cambridge and York in England, plus the Scottish capital of Edinburgh, are included. Stratford-upon-Avon is also visited as the home of the UK’s most revered playwright. Experiences to savour include seeing Britain’s highest peak, Ben Nevis in Scotland, and enjoying a traditional roast dinner in historic, compact York.

In addition to Georgian Bath and the capital London, this seven day tour takes you to some other fascinating UK locations too. There’s sculptor Antony Gormley’s famous Angel of the North artwork, a Scottish border town, Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, and the Scottish Highlands and Loch Ness.

Once you head down the west coast, the musical and sporting city of Liverpool awaits. You’ll also venture into Wales to see the city of Cardiff and a mediaeval Welsh castle. After touring Bath, the last stop en route back to London is Stonehenge. This ancient site is shrouded in mystery – and a must on the itinerary of every visitor to the UK.

Steam train crossing the Glenfinnan viaduct.

Best for train travel and rail holidays UK

There’s arguably nothing more quintessentially British than train travel – and if life on the rails in Britain is what you’ve been romanticising about, then this is one of the train tours UK for you.

This UK rail itinerary takes in the best of Scotland and England, with the chance to ride on one of the best-known steam train trips UK has to offer on the Jacobite steam train from Fort William to Mallaig.

You’ll travel on the West Highland Line, North East Main Line that links Edinburgh and York, and the West Coast Mainline south from Glasgow.

Travel is at a more leisurely pace with 2 nights spent in most cities, staying in mostly 4* hotels. You’ll also get to see Bath and Stonehenge before finishing in London.

If you’re looking for guided tours of England and Scotland by train, this is a great itinerary to go for. You’ll get to experience many of the UK’s best-known railways and take in the country’s top historic and cultural sights along the way. Travel is by train and private coach.

View over the Lake District in England.

The Lake District & Scotland – Rabbie’s – 9 Days

Best for taking in the beautiful scenery of the Lake District & Scottish Highlands

Rabbie’s tours of the UK offer great value for money, and if you want to be immersed in some of the UK’s finest landscapes and are interested in guided walking holidays UK options, this is a great way to dip your toes in.

Starting in Manchester, this itinerary is a ‘rail and trail’ combination of 2 Rabbie’s trips , meaning you’ll change minibus and guide half way through.

First you’ll explore the stunning Lake District in the beautiful north west of England, enjoying Windermere and Ullswater before taking the train up to Edinburgh for your Highlands adventure that visits some of the most scenic spots on Scotland’s west coast: Uban, Mull and Skye before heading back to the mainland to visit the iconic Eilean Donan castle.

If you’re looking for the best adventure tours UK has, then we recommend Rabbie’s who deliver great tours at a budget-friendly price point for those who love the outdoors.

View over Loch Ness can be seen on some of the best UK tours.

Best for Scottish Highlands exploring and Solo Trips UK.

If you’re looking to focus your UK trip on Scotland , then this 7 day Scotland tour from Edinburgh by G Adventures is well worth a look.

G Adventures also offer very reasonable single supplements if you’re looking for the best solo holidays uk options – or you can choose to share a room with another traveller of the same sex. Either way, G Adventures UK is popular with solo travellers.

Starting in Edinburgh and finishing in Glasgow, this Scotland tour takes in Inverness and the famous Loch Ness, Culloden Moor (famous for the Jacobite rising of 1745), the beautiful Isle of Skye and Fort William, with a chance to snap the famous Jacobite Steam Train crossing the Glenfinnan Viaduct (a must for Harry Potter fans) en route.

Accommodation is on a twin-share basis in 3* hotels and travel is by private minibus.

If you want the highlights of the highlands of Scotland, this is a good tour to go for, with the option to add on extra days at the start or end of your tour – you could easily spend more time in Edinburgh, or head down to London.

The Orkney Islands.

Off the beaten-path Highlands of Scotland

One of our favourite Great Britain vacation packages for getting a little off the beaten path is this wonderful northern Scotland adventure by Insight Vacations. Perfect for those wanting to see more of the Scottish Highlands or try something different when it comes to the many UK holiday packages.

Starting in Edinburgh, on this upscale tour you’ll take in Inverness and Loch Ness, the beautiful and remote Orkney Islands at the northern tip of Scotland – a part that few visitors see – before heading south down the west coast of Scotland to take in the Isle of Skye, the stunning Glencoe pass and Loch Lomond before finishing up in Glasgow.

Accommodation is in 4* hotels and travel is by private coach.

This is certainly one of the best UK coach holidays 2021 has to offer if the Scottish Highlands have been calling to you. You’ll love this one if you want to see the full diversity of landscapes and richness of community and culture that Scotland has.

Best of Scotland

Best for uncovering all four corners of Scotland

If you want to find the best luxury coach tours in the UK that cover much of what lies north of the border, then the Best of Scotland tour from Trafalgar is a popular option for summer. The adventure begins in the capital of Edinburgh on day one. You’ll then be transported around Bonnie Scotland for seven days before ending up in Glasgow.

This vibrant city lies to the west of Edinburgh. It’s the biggest in Scotland in terms of both population and square mileage. The metropolis is renowned for its magnificent architecture and as a cultural hub for fans of music, museums and more.

After arrival and on the second day of the tour, you’ll delve deeper under the surface of the historic and breathtakingly beautiful Scottish capital. Key sights including Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile and Palace of Holyroodhouse are visited during your guided tour, and you’ll also enjoy free time to spend as you wish.

Between leaving Edinburgh and arriving in Glasgow – both of which are in southern Scotland – you’ll head north. The first stop is St. Andrews, where Prince William met Kate Middleton, before overnighting at a hotel in the Cairngorms National Park. During day four, you’ll visit the site of the famous Jacobite uprising, see Eilean Donan Castle, look out for the Loch Ness Monster and head over to the Isle of Skye.

The fifth day of the tour includes Ben Nevis and Glencoe en route to Glasgow. After staying overnight there, you’ll take a city tour before calling at Clydeside whisky distillery and Stirling Castle on day six. Day seven is departure day, unless you decide to stay on in Glasgow for longer.

Best for touring unspoiled Scotland

If what appeals to you most about the British Isles is the chance to spend time in Bonnie Scotland, this tour to far northern Scotland might be the one for you. It’s what Great Britain vacations are made of for many – beguiling cities, beautiful coastline and of course a dazzlingly rich and varied history.

Day one transports you from Edinburgh to Inverness, via the famous Forth Bridge, picture-perfect Perthshire, the peaceful village of Dunkeld, the fascinating Highland Folk Museum, the Cairngorms National Park, bloody Culloden Battlefield and the standing stones at Clava Cairns.

Next up on the second day is the spectacular North Coast 500 trail, via French-style Dunrobin Castle, en route to the island of Orkney. Puffin territory and an astonishingly well-preserved Neolithic settlement await after overnighting on Orkney.

Both the better-known and lesser seen sights of Scotland make up much of the tour’s second half. These include Smoo Cave in Sutherland, the harbour village of Ullapool, Eilean Donan Castle, the Isle of Skye, the Jacobite Steam Train from Mallaig to Fort William and Glencoe.

During the last day, you can also choose to take an optional side trip to one of the Western Isles – namely Iona, Kerrera, Mull or Staffa. Alternatively, climb up Battery Hill in Oban or call into the

local Whisky Distillery. Finally, before heading back to Edinburgh, visit the Kelpies and Stirling Castle.

Aerial view of Keswick in the Lake District

Best England, Ireland, Scotland Tour packages

Some of these itinerary options include the best England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales tours for a comprehensive circuit of the British Isles, while others combine Ireland and Scotland to get a fuller taste of the Celtic lands.

View of evening in Dublin can be appreciated on some of the best UK tours.

Best for a whistle-stop tour of the UK and Ireland

If seeing England and Scotland isn’t enough for you, then you might like to add on Ireland. This ten day trip is arguably the best way to see England, Scotland and Ireland in one hit. It lasts for ten days, and packs far more into that time than you could feasibly manage on a self-guided basis.

First up after departing London is Shakespeare country and Stratford-upon-Avon, then it’s the Yorkshire cities of York and Bradford. The Yorkshire Dales, Lake Windermere, Gretna Green and Glasgow are then on the agenda for day three.

There’s a day in Edinburgh for the fourth day, before heading to Ayrshire, Belfast, Dublin, Kilkenny and Waterford on day five and six. Cardiff, Bath and Windsor are the final stops before the tour winds up back in London.

This tour offers incredible value for money, and really maximises each and every day when time in the UK is tight.

Best for trips to England and Ireland that include the main highlights

If you’re looking at tours of England, Scotland and Ireland, then this 10 day trip by Globus may tick all the right boxes.

Start and end in London on this tour that takes in the English highlights of Stonehenge and Bath before exploring Newport and Cardiff in Wales en route by ferry to Waterford and Dublin in Ireland.

Head north through Ireland towards the up-and-coming city of Belfast and crossing back into Scotland to take in the sights of the Scottish capital, Edinburgh.

On the final leg you’ll head south through York and Stratford upon Avon to London to soak up the best of English history. Travel is by coach.

This is one of the best tours of England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland if you’re tight on time and don’t want to forgo any of the countries of the British Isles. The travel is at a fairly fast pace though – so you may wish to add on a few days to relax at the end of your trip.

Snow peaked mountains in Glencoe.

Best for combining Scottish Highlands & Ireland

One of the comprehensive UK tours from London options in this list, this itinerary works well if you want to start in London and have a few days before your trip starts to explore the UK’s capital – either through an extension booked through Insight or under your own steam.

Leaving London, this ultimate UK tour takes in the historic English highlights of Stratford and York before heading past Hadrian’s Wall to Edinburgh and circling the Scottish Highlands.

Take in the legendary sights of Loch Ness, Glencoe and a boat trip on Loch Lomond before heading back south into England and Wales, and crossing over into Ireland.

Travel is by private coach and accommodation is at 4* hotels.

On this grand UK tour, you’ll spend a total of 5 nights in Ireland and 7 in England & Scotland, making this the perfect UK tour packages from London when you just want to see it all!

Portree on the Isle of Skye.

Best for English countryside and Roman history

Following the route of Hadrian’s Wall makes for one of the best road trips in the UK. Though the wall is quite justifiably famous, the route along it is far less touristy than other parts of the British Isles. The wall stretches from near Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the east to the compact city of Carlisle in the west.

Hadrian’s Wall can be found within the more peaceful parts of England’s two most northerly counties. As this is a walking tour you’ll need a reasonable level of fitness, but this also means you’ll get up really close to the sights of Cumbria and Northumberland. And of course the unspoiled English countryside, with its dry stone walls and sheep-dotted emerald fields.

To give you some idea of the distances, the first day’s walk is around eight miles, between Carlisle and Irthington. Other walks include the six mile trek between Lanercost Priory and Gilsland, the three-and-a-half Walltown Crags to Haltwhistle route and seven miles from Once Brewed to Brocolitia Fort. It’s also nine miles from Chollerford to East Wallhouses, and about five from East Wallhouses to Wylam.

Highlights of this tour include the pretty Cumbrian village Crosby-on-Eden; Birdoswald, Housesteads, Brocolitia and Vindolanda Roman Forts, Walltown quarry, Sycamore Gap, the site of the victory of Oswald and the historic old Military Road.

Best Tour Companies UK Reviews

Not sure which of the best travel agency UK options you should pick? Below you can find a short review of what to expect when travelling with any of the UK tour companies mentioned above.

G Adventures tours are known for their good value and experience-rich approach. They attract travellers of all ages, both couples and solo travellers, thanks to their twin-share policy where single travellers can travel at no extra cost if they share with another traveller of the same sex.

Travel is in small groups (max 12) and includes a local tour guide “CEO”. Accommodation is in mid-range hotels and guest houses, and typically breakfasts and entry to some sights are included.

Travel in the UK is mostly by private mini-bus unless otherwise stated.

Popular for coach tours in the UK and around the world, Globus Journeys offer guided coach tours in the UK and Ireland, either with smaller groups (max 24) or larger groups (up to 50) depending on the style of the trip.

Accommodation is typically in tourist class hotels (3* and 4*) with well known brands. Globus is popular among travellers aged in their 50’s, 60’s and up for the convenience of travel by coach and their tours have more meals and excursions included than some.

Expect itineraries that pack places in, so you’ll see a lot, and stays are typically 1 night.

GRJ are the go-to for UK steam tours and railway journeys around the UK and beyond, so if travelling the UK by train is what you’re hoping to do, look no further.

Insight Vacations are an upscale tour company offering luxury UK coach tours with up to 40 people per group.

Famous for great value adventures around the world, in the UK Intrepid offer a range of shorter ‘retreat’ style trips – so if you’re after hiking trips UK or a guided walking and cycling holiday, look no further.

Indus is popular with younger and older travellers alike, with many travellers in their 30’s, 40’s and 50’s.

Well known and popular Trafalgar Tours England have been offering coach travel around the UK for many years and have many happy customers behind them.

They are popular for England tours for seniors (and younger people), and on any of their England tour packages you’re guaranteed to have a lot packed into your itinerary. That’s one thing to bear in mind – this is definitely not slow travel – but it’s a good way to get an overview of the British Isles.

All tours are accompanied by a guide and accommodation is tourist class 3* or 4* international standard hotels.

Rabbie’s tours have some great England travel deals (and beyond). They’re a small group tours company providing great value breaks that help you get off the beaten track in the UK and Europe.

Rabbie’s aim to support local communities and promote responsible travel, by keeping tour groups small (10 people). They also work differently to other tour companies in that accommodation is not included in the tour price – once you book your tour you can choose your accommodation from a selection offered by Rabbie’s to suit your budget and preferences.

The name Rabbie’s comes from the nickname for famous Scot, Robert Burns!

Image of the river Thames and the London Eye in London sights included in a few of the best UK tours.

If you have a day, two, or more aside from your tour, we highly recommend taking advantage of those to explore London, or another city if your tour is starting from elsewhere – Edinburgh is another popular starting point for the UK tours mentioned in this guide.

While some tours include sightseeing in London (or another departure city), not all do – or they include a very shortened version – and trust us that 1 day is definitely not enough to see London in, especially if you’re jetlagged.

If you can, arrive a few days before your tour begins to enjoy the top London sights and get onto UK time if you’re flying in from far away. You can find our complete London travel guide here to get you started.

Essential Britain & Ireland

Very nice itinerary ... jam packed days and evenings. I chose not to do any of the extra evening excursions that were offered so I was able to use the time to explore every overnight stop on my own. The tour guide was amazing... so full of knowledge about all the countries/areas we visited.

The experience was excellent, would definitely recommend to my friends and family visiting. The tour director and the driver were so thoughtful and kind throughout the tour.

Best of UK & Ireland Tour

Best of UK & Ireland

Covered a lot of places in the 13 days but while that was good in some ways it was also exhausting. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and the coach driver did a great job even though the roads were very narrow in places - you always knew you were in good hands. My favourite places we visited were the optional extra excursions so I wouldn't plan to do the tour without expecting to do some of the extra options. Met some great people and everyone worked well together. The hotels were 3 and a few 4 star but go into it knowing you aren't getting 5 star hotels. Overall I would say it was a great experience but next time I'll just pick an area to tour instead of trying to fit so much into the one tour.

Britain and Ireland Explorer (16 Days)

I had a wonderful time, such beautiful scenery, historic destinations, good accommodation, good food, (being a vegetarian, it was heart warming to see Pete going out of his way to make sure I got good meals wherever we went) I would have loved more time in Stratford upon Avon as I couldn't visit Anne Hathaway's cottage and see the whole of the play being staged in Shakespeare's birthplace gardens.

Britain and Ireland Panorama (16 Days) Tour

Britain and Ireland Panorama (16 Days)

Everything about the trip was good, including the weather, and Greg even influenced that, playing the Beatles "Here comes the sun" to start every morning. Full breakfast was good fuel for the day. Greg was enthusiastic, knowledgable, amusing, and patient with tardy guests. The coach drivers (Liam and Tommy) were superb. The porterage was a very nice touch.

Taylor Swift on stage

How to get tickets for Taylor Swift’s 2024 UK Eras Tour, including price and extra London dates

It’s been five years since Tay last set foot on our shores

Chiara Wilkinson

Hot Swiftie summer is well and truly on the way. While Taylor Swift might currently be taking her Eras tour around Australia , it won’t be long before she hits UK  shores. Only a few more months to spend waiting around, pouring over set lists and constantly refreshing our feeds to hear news about the star.

On her US leg, we saw the mega star perform through a torrential storm, dive head first into the stage, partake in a short-lived (and bizarre) relationship with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy, and bring her ex Taylor Lautner out to do a few backflips. We can only hope that the UK leg will be just as exciting and spectacular.

And as any hardcore fan knows, Tay Tay truly is the gift that keeps on giving. After the chaotic scramble for UK tickets left thousands disappointed, she announced extra dates and is set to play 15 shows in the UK – including eight in London. Here's everything we know about Taylor’s Eras tour in the UK.

RECOMMENDED: Everything you need to know about Taylor Swift’s 2024 London dates Expert tips to get tickets for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in the UK All you need to know about Pulp at Cardiff International Arena

When is Taylor Swift coming to the UK as part of her 2024 Eras tour?

We now know for sure that Taylor is going on tour in the UK and dates have finally been announced. She’ll be over in two rounds throughout June and August – you can find out more about specific dates and locations below.

Two new London shows announced for the UK Eras tour

Additional shows were announced for London’s Wembley Stadium on August 19 and August 20, with tickets available to a limited number of fans who registered for London shows earlier this year.

When do Taylor Swift Eras tickets go on sale in the UK?

Tickets for the new London shows went on sale on November 14 and November 15, while tickets for the other shows went live last July.

How do the Ticketmaster on-sale codes work?

On July 5 2023, fans were contacted by Ticketmaster to let them know if they’ve received an ‘on-sale code’ or have been placed on a waiting list.

The ticketing platform stressed that tickets would be provided on a first come, first serve basis, meaning that not everyone who registered in advance will receive an on-sale code. If you were lucky enough to get one, it included timing details and a link to where the on-sale would occur, as well as a unique, non-transferable access code. However, the code did not guarantee that you would secure a ticket.

Fans who did not receive an email were placed on a waiting list until a later date when further tickets become available. Fingers crossed for you.

How can I register for tickets?

To help tickets reach the hands of fans who want to attend the shows, there was the opportunity to register for tickets. Registration closed on Thursday, June 22 at 11.59pm (local time) in the UK, and on Friday, June 23 at 11.59pm (local time) in Ireland and Europe.

Registered fans who received a unique code were able to use them to buy tickets in each city at specified dates and times. Fans who wanted an opportunity to access ticket sales in multiple cities needed to register once for each city they wanted to attend.

Was there any presale?

Fans who participated in the Taylor Swift UK store ‘Midnights’ album pre-order offer qualified for special pre-sale access to all UK and Ireland shows.

The first of those presales was on July 10 at 10am, which was for the London dates and some of the Edinburgh ones. More than 40,000 Swifties joined an online queue in an attempt to snap up tickets before the general sale. Other presales took place on July 11 (for Edinburgh and Dublin) and July 12 (Cardiff and Liverpool).

Unfortunately, if you missed out on pre-ordering the album, you had to wait for general sale to be in with a chance of grabbing tickets.

How much are Taylor Swift tickets in the UK?

For the London and Edinburgh date presales, tickets ranged in price from around £59 (for partial or obstructed view tickets) to £110 for general admission standing. Front standing was priced at about £172, while seated tickets went up to  £194.

Want to go VIP?

And if you’re absolutely swimming in wonga and have acute Swift-itis you can spend from £799 on hospitality packages that get you things like premium seats, arrival via the hospitality entrance, premium dining options and other cool-but-expensive things. Find out more here .

What’s going on with resale tickets?

With tickets as precious as these, it’s no wonder that they’re already being resold at extortionate prices. Despite a four ticket limit per buyer, resale sites Viagogo and Stubhub already have tickets being resold. Some are listed for as high as £6,000.

Needless to say, you should be especially careful when buying anything on resale and only buy from official resale websites.

What’s been said about the tour so far?

Taylor Swift kickstarted her tour at Arizona’s State Farm Stadium in March, where she debuted a mega three-hour set playing songs from across her career.

The production includes 16 dancers and many set and costume changes, as well as a moment where the singer appears to ‘dive’ into the stage.

At her show in Arlington, Texas, Swift teased the crowd saying: ‘One thing we said about the Eras Tour: you think you can just go online, you think you can just scroll and know the setlist?

‘Let it be said about the Eras Tour ,  we’re tricksy. That’s what we are [and] we enjoy a good, healthy setlist hijinks.'

Translation? Expect the unexpected.

What’s the current setlist for her Eras Tour?

The show is made up of an epic 44-song setlist divided up according to the singer’s ten ‘eras’, which each refer to one of her albums.

The songs included ‘ Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince’, ‘Cruel Summer’, ‘The Man’, ‘You Need to Calm Down’, ‘Lover’, ‘The Archer’, ‘Fearless’, ‘You Belong With Me,’ ‘Love Story’, ‘Tis The Damn Season’, ‘Don’t Blame Me’, ‘22’, ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’, ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’, ‘Shake it Off’, ‘Anti-Hero’, ‘Mastermind’ and ‘Karma’.

She also performs two different surprise acoustic songs each night and has invited other musicians to perform with her on stage including Phoebe Bridgers and The National’s Aaron Dessner.

Paris 2024 Olympics: How to plan a last-minute trip, from Games tickets to accommodation

If you are kicking yourself for not bagging tickets to the Paris 2024 Olympics when they first went on sale, all is not lost. A travel expert tells Sky News how sports fans can plan a last-minute trip this summer.

As the Paris Olympics draw closer, the hype is increasing - and it's only going to build from here.

If you are kicking yourself for not bagging tickets when they first went on sale, all is not lost.

There are still ways you can get to Paris to see the Games.

Sky News talks to a travel expert to bring you all you need to know about securing your last-minute trip.

Can I still get tickets for the Olympics?

Yes, it is still possible to get tickets for the Games.

More than 250,000 tickets went on sale on 17 April to mark 100 days until the opening of the Games.

This is the last ticket sale, but tickets are still available for dozens of events.

The first sale involved a lottery and timeslots to buy packs of tickets for events.

In the final stretch of ticket sales, things are a lot simpler.

Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and you can see the availability for different events in real time on the website.

While a lot of the final tickets on sale are pretty pricey, there is still the chance to bag a bargain.

Almost 20,000 tickets were put on sale for €24 and it is still possible to get tickets to see football for this price.

At the other end of the spectrum, there are ticket and hospitality packages available that will set you back hundreds of Euros.

What about the Paralympics?

The Paralympic Games will take place from 28 August to 8 September and there are still tickets available from €15.

The booking works the same as for the Olympics - first-come, first-served, with the remaining tickets now available on the website.

Avoid the scammers

Don't get caught out by scammers - make sure you only buy tickets through the official Paris 2024 ticketing website.

It's not too late to book - but don't wait

While the start of the Games is fast approaching, it's not too late to plan a trip - but you should "get booking ASAP", Jessica Dante, travel expert at Love and London, tells Sky News.

The Eurostar is not as "wildly priced" as you might expect, she says, with return fares available for the first week of the Games for under £200 - and the same is true of budget airlines.

But, Ms Dante cautions, "that will invariably only continue to go up" - so book soon rather than hold out for a last-minute deal.

Could there be last-minute deals on accommodation?

Don't bank on it, Ms Dante says.

"I'm always in the camp of just book something so you have it. If something else pops up closer to the time then fine, you can try to make a switch if you've got something that you can cancel.

"But there's also the chance that something might not pop up that's going to be in your price range as well."

While there could be a small wave of accommodation deals open up as people cancel, a lot of accommodation will be non-refundable at least a couple of weeks before the Games, so any cancellations are likely to still be fairly far in advance, she says.

Tips for booking accommodation

There is still "decent availability" for hotels, she says, although some popular spots are already booked up.

Unsurprisingly, cost has a lot to do with location - so look away from central areas and places close to Olympic locations if you are looking to save money.

"The flip side of that is it then means that you're probably going to have to deal with taking the metro and you'll have to pay for the inflated cost of the rides."

The price of metro tickets will almost double during the Games, from €2.10 (£1.80) to €4 (£3.40).

But the surcharge on public transport is unlikely to match the price difference on a more central hotel. Ms Dante advises looking at suburban areas or the outskirts of the city.

What about staying in another town?

Staying in another town entirely and travelling to Paris for events is one option.

But you should consider the pros and cons carefully, Ms Dante says.

There is a looming threat of train strikes. The CGT public servants union has announced plans to strike during the Olympics, which could mean many transport workers walking out.

If you are staying outside Paris, that could scupper your plans to easily travel into the city.

Even if there are not strikes, trains into Paris are likely to be crowded, Ms Dante says.

"You do have to kind of balance that and just be prepared that you might have some difficulty."

Passengers walk in the Part-Dieu train station during a railway strike, in Lyon, central France, Wednesday, July 6, 2022. A strike by railway workers demanding higher pay amid cost of living increases is interrupting train service in France. National railway company SNCF said about one in four high-speed trains was canceled on Wednesday. It says regional service such as suburban trains in the Paris region is experiencing disruptions. Can you go to the Olympics and avoid Paris entirely?

The Games may be headlined as Paris 2024, but there are events taking place across the country - and the surfing is even in Tahiti.

The cities of Lyon, Saint-Etienne, Nice, Bordeaux, Nantes and Marseille will host events.

The Olympic ticketing site allows you to filter available events by location, so if you are keen to give Paris a miss you can seek out what is happening in other places.

"They're going to be a little bit less popular than stuff that's right in the centre of Paris, so I think that's a really good option," Ms Dante says.

Consider the Paralympics

The Paralympics often gets overshadowed by the Olympics, but it's a great option if you want to experience the Games, Ms Dante says.

"It's going to be a little bit less crowded, the pricing will be better, probably a little bit more of a relaxed experience."

Is it worth going to Paris if you don't have tickets to the Games?

Maybe there are no tickets left in your price range, or your favourite event is sold out - is it worth planning a trip to Paris anyway?

"Definitely," according to Ms Dante. "This whole summer it's going to be really buzzy there."

A lot of locals will leave the city, she says. It's French tradition in the summer, but the exodus is likely to be even bigger this year as Parisians flee the crowds - meaning some areas could end up being quieter than normal.

Attractions away from the main Olympic sites could also be quieter than normal, she says.

How to make the most of your trip

If you are keen to combine cultural activities with sporting ones, consider booking a guided tour to big attractions, Ms Dante advises.

That way, you have got your ticket secured and the tour guides will be up to speed on any road closures or access changes that could make your visit more tricky.

Also keep in mind that there will be a lot of security measures in place and getting around the city will take longer than normal.

Kim Wilde

An iconic 80s pop singer has thrilled fans with the announcement of a colossal UK tour next year.

Scheduled for 2025, Kim Wilde will be performing ten dates in Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Cambridge, London, Liverpool, Sheffield, York, Glasgow, and Nottingham between 14 and 25 March 2025.

The shows promise to be spectacular events, showcasing Wilde’s timeless hits and much-anticipated new music, along with support from 80s band Cutting Crew.

Known for classics like Kids in America, Wilde’s career has left an indelible mark on the industry. Between 1981 and 1996, she had an impressive 25 singles charting within the Top 50 of the UK Singles Chart.

Her chart-topping success includes hits like Chequered Love and You Came, solidifying her status as the most-charted British female solo act of the 1980s.

Accompanying Wilde will be the legendary eighties rock band Cutting Crew, who are best known for their 1986 hit (I Just) Died in Your Arms, promising a night filled with 80s glam.

Kim Wilde

Dubbed the Closer Tour, the shows will feature Wilde and her band delivering renditions from her celebrated Close album, along with tracks from her upcoming Closer album, as well as other beloved classics from her extensive repertoire.

Fans can expect to feel nostalgic to hits like Never Trust a Stranger and the reworked version of the Supremes’ song You Keep Me Hangin’ On, which topped the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1987.

 Kim Wilde

Beyond her musical prowess, Wilde has carved a name for herself in the world of horticulture. Amidst her musical career, she pursued a passion for landscaping, earning her recognition at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show.

She’s also contributed to popular gardening programs like Channel 4’s Better Gardens and the BBC’s Garden Invaders.

After taking some time off after her heyday in the 80s, Wilde was inspired to return to music by an unexpected source .

Kim Wilde back stage at the CCH Saal Hamburg in 1985

In 2018 she went on Loose Women and explained that an extraterrestrial encounter prompted her return to the stage.

She said: ‘It was in 2009 and I was in my garden with my husband and a girlfriend of mine.

‘We saw some helicopters and a bright light come towards us from the South West. We looked of course, expecting to see they were after someone.

Kim Wilde

‘That didn’t happen, the helicopters left. I think they were scrambling to try and find what this thing was.’

When asked if anyone believed her story, she laughed: ‘Everyone thought I’d been on the pinot grigio…’

The singer went on: ‘The light remained behind a cloud in the sky, we went to investigate.

Tony Moore, Kevin MacMichael, Nick Van Eede of Cutting Crew

‘I’m looking up and I’m seeing this thing and all of a sudden it moves from 11 o’clock to 2 o’clock… Then a smaller one joined it.’

‘It has really inspired me a lot,’ she said. ‘I really believe what I saw was a UFO. It wasn’t of this planet.’

Tickets for the highly anticipated tour will be available for purchase starting Friday, April 26 at 10 am.

Taylor Swift fans lose hundreds in scams

Two Taylor Swift fans have spoken out about their experience of losing money after being targeted by ticket scammers.

The US megastar is set to embark on the UK leg of her Eras tour in June.

A report by Lloyds bank last week found Swifties had lost an estimated £1m in scams ahead of the shows.

Two fans told BBC Radio WM they had fallen victim, losing £1,200 between them despite carrying out research.

Gemma from Rubery said she thought she was getting tickets on Facebook from a friend of a friend.

But this turned out not to be the case, ultimately costing her £800.

Despite conducting background checks and concluding the seller's account looked genuine, it had in fact been hacked by a scammer.

"We had a conversation and sent the money then all of sudden we were blocked," Gemma explained.

She said the tickets were intended for her daughter's 18th birthday.

"I thought I would justify spending [the money] because it would be a real treat for her," she added.

"We've totally been scammed."

A second fan, Amanda Beasley from Stourbridge, said she had also fallen foul of bad actors.

In a similar experience, she lost £400 trying to get tickets for her daughter's 21st birthday.

Ms Beasley told BBC Radio WM she had also conducted research, but soon discovered something was off after sending money through PayPal.

When she complained to the seller, it quickly became clear what had happened.

Amanda said: "They literally sent me a scripted message saying 'hi' and in brackets 'her name'. They forgot to insert my name."

The mother added she was most distraught by the fact her daughter would not be able to see her idol.

"I thought she was actually going to be able to go," Ms Beasley said.

"It's really upsetting that she's missing out on that now. I wish I hadn't told her we got the tickets."

Buyer protection

The Lloyds Bank report said more than 600 of its customers had come forward to report being scammed, with some losing as much as £1,000.

PayPal said it was unable to comment on individual accounts without express written permission from the account holder.

But the company explained it had a comprehensive buyer protection programme covering purchases that are not as they claim.

15 injured in tram accident at Universal Studios

A group of amusement park visitors were injured Saturday evening in a Universal Studios tram accident near Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department was dispatched shortly after 9 p.m. PT Saturday and transferred 15 patients to hospitals with minor injuries.

The California Highway Patrol said a tour was underway at the studio in Universal City and the tram was making a turn following the "Jurassic Park Cars" attraction.

"Due to unknown reasons, while negotiating the turn onto Avenue M, the last car of the tram collided with a metal guardrail on the right side of the roadway causing it to tilt and eject multiple passengers from the tram," the agency said.

The injuries were evaluated as "minor to moderate," the highway patrol said. Neither drugs nor alcohol are being considered as factors.

A spokesperson for Universal Studios Hollywood confirmed the accident in a statement and said a tram collided with a guard rail while it was turning left.

"Our thoughts continue to be with the guests who were involved, and we are thankful that based on agency reports, the injuries sustained were minor," the statement said. "We are working closely with public agencies, including the California Highway Patrol, as we continue our review of the incident and safety remains a top priority."

Universal said the Studio Tour has resumed "with a modified route" and the park is "reinforcing our operational and safety protocols."

An ambulance on the scene of a tram crash at Universal Studios

Universal Studios is owned by NBC News’ parent company, NBCUniversal.

According to the park’s website, the tram tour is set to celebrate its 60th anniversary Friday.

The Universal Studios Tour offers park visitors a chance to ride a tram through behind-the-scenes locations of some of the studio's famed films while tour guides impart some of the history of the lot.

Many of the locations are still used for filming, so the locations may change. A consistently popular attraction includes re-creations of scenes such as a "Jaws"-style shark attack.

Netflix UK will not be changing its commissioning course when the streamer stops reporting quarterly subs numbers, according to its programing chief.

Anne Mensah , who oversees a huge slate featuring the likes of Baby Reindeer and The Gentlemen , said “there is no secret” for producers when they pitch to Netflix, and that this will remain the same given the streamer’s fresh focus on profit over subs.

Mila Kunis Says She & Ashton Kutcher Won't Return For 'That '90s Show' Season 2

“Before I arrived the idea was how to put in place a team that is authentically ‘of the UK’ and show you have absolute commitment to staying here long term,” she added. “For me the content remains utterly key.”

Mensah was speaking a week after Netflix used its Q1 results to reveal it will stop reporting quarterly  subscriber numbers  from next year, a huge change for the platform whose stock tends to get buffeted up or down by those numbers. It will still announce subscriber “milestones” but nothing on a regular basis. The streamer, which has pulled ahead of ailing rivals of late, added 9.3 million subscribers in the quarter ended March 31, reaching 269.6 million worldwide and outperforming expectations in other key areas.

Mensah wouldn’t be drawn on whether Netflix UK has been handed a budget boost given the recent success that has come amid a spate of big-budget international commissions. Instead, she said “consistency right now is what we should be doing” and revealed her slate is virtually set for the next couple of years.

“To be able to say I know what my slate looks like this year, next year or the year after [is so important],” she added. “We commission for years ahead in order to be part of the UK landscape.”

She spoke of the need for “consistency” several times during her Creative Cities keynote, necessary in this new era of contraction and with rivals rowing back.

“My shows all land in one go”

Anne Mensah

“Some shows on Netflix might transmit weekly but mine all land in one go,” she added. “Audiences need to be in control of what we are giving them, empowering them to watch what they watch when they want to watch.”

She said “never say never” on scheduling shows in blocks and pointed to the success of the likes of Squid Game: The Challenge , which was a U.S. commission produced by two UK production companies.

Mensah reiterated Netflix’s support for the UK film and TV industry, which it has always said is its second biggest market beyond the U.S., and heaped praise on local pubcasters. She cited success stories like Film4’s BAFTAs haul, ITV’s Mr Bates vs the Post Office and BBC smash The Traitors.

Mensah was opening the Creative Cities Convention, with the likes of Channel 4 boss Alex Mahon, Mr Bates vs the Post Office director James Strong and the cast of The Outlaws set to speak later.

NOFX announce UK headline shows as part of their farewell tour

NOFX will play four albums in full at their newly-announced UK shows

NOFX

NOFX have announced a brace of UK shows for what will be their last ever tour. The promoters of pop-punk festival Slam Dunk have revealed that they will be hosting "two extra standalone shows" that’ll serve as the LA quartet's final UK gigs. Fat Mike's band will play Temple Newsam in Leeds on May 26 and Hatfield Park on May 28. In Leeds, they will perform their classic 1994 album Punk In Drublic and 2006's Wolves In Wolves’ Clothing in full, while those attending the show in Hatfield will see the group perform all of 1997's So Long And Thanks For All The Shoes and 1992's White Trash, Two Heebs And A Bean . Back in September, Fat Mike revealed that his band would celebrate their 40th anniversary in 2023 by splitting up, saying "It's been an amazing run..."

The group's 40-cities-around-the-globe tour will begin on April 22 in Austin, Texas and come to a close in October 2024 in Los Angeles, California: "It's where we started, it's where we'll end," Fat Mike promised in September.

Announcing the first set of shows , NOFX say they will perform forty songs a night, including full albums and rarities, and they will never repeat a setlist to ensure that each show is unique. "This is not a final tour like Motley Crue or Black Sabbath," says Fat Mike, with a little dig at bands who've risen again after a supposed 'farewell' tour. "These are the very last shows FOFX will ever be playing. We are gonna play with all our hearts…With all our joy… And then we are done. We are done done."

Asked in December by Louder's Ian Winwood why he's decided to call time on NOFX's career, Fat Mike replied , "Because I don’t enjoy it like I used to. And if I don’t get loaded, I really don’t want to do it. I don’t need to be onstage hearing people applaud and dance. I don’t need that. Some people are addicted to that. I’ve started doing stand-up comedy and I like that way better, in front of 30 people... And 40 years is a fucking long time to be in a band." "I’m actually very excited about it," he added. "I’m not sad yet, but I know what we’re going to do. We’re going to play all of our songs and really, really give it our all. Generally when we play shows I just get wasted, and we’re good [when doing that], but we don’t think about the show, we just go out and have a good time. But this time we’re thinking, ‘Oh, no, we have to fucking rock, cos this is our last time’ in various cities. We’ve done it twice so far, in Vancouver and Edmonton… and we just fucking killed it. A lot of people said that they’d never seen us that good, which is pretty fucking awesome, when you hear that."

Tickets for the UK dates will be on sale tomorrow, January 18 .

🚨HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT🚨We are extremely honoured to be hosting the FINAL EVER UK shows for the legendary @NOFXband To give them the huge send off they absolutely deserve they will be playing two extra special stand alone headline shows at the Slam Dunk Festival sites. pic.twitter.com/goAi3APNph January 16, 2023

Roger Waters announces UK dates for 2023 farewell tour

He will play three dates on the 'This Is Not A Drill' tour next year

Roger Waters

Roger Waters has announced new UK dates for his ‘This Is Not A Drill’ farewell tour – see full details below, with tickets available here .

The former  Pink Floyd frontman is currently on the US leg of the farewell tour, with 2023 dares in Europe announced last week.

Now, he has confirmed that he will bring the farewell tour to the UK next year for three shows.

The gigs begin in Birmingham on May 31 at the Utilita Arena, before he plays Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on June 2 and London’s The O2 on June 6.

“This Is Not A Drill is a groundbreaking new rock and roll/cinematic extravaganza, performed in the round, it is a stunning indictment of the corporate dystopia in which we all struggle to survive, and a call to action to Love, Protect and Share our precious and precarious planet home,” Waters said in a statement.

“The show includes a dozen great songs from Pink Floyd’s Golden Era alongside several new ones, words and music, same writer, same heart, same soul, the same man. Could be his last hurrah. Wow! My first farewell tour! Don’t miss it”.

Tickets for Roger Waters’ UK tour go on sale here on Friday, September 30 at 1pm BST.
