Dethklok Reveal 2024 U.S. Tour Dates With DragonForce + Nekrogoblikon

Metalocalypse   stars Dethklok just revealed a set of 2024 U.S. tour dates, with DragonForce and  Nekrogoblikon joining as support for the run.

Dubbed the  Mutilation on a Spring Night Tour , the trek kicks off April 7 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. at the House of Blues and wraps up May 3 in Portland, Ore. at the Roseland Theatre. DragonForce and Nekrogoblikon will open the shows throughout the entirety of the tour.

The general sale for tickets will begin this Friday, Feb. 9 at 10AM local time, and can be purchased on Dethklok's website .

“I love bands that celebrate guitar and bands that have a lot of fun onstage. I also love bands that don’t, but for this tour, I think it makes sense to have a lot of dragons, goblins, and ‘kloks together,” Metalocalypse  creator and Dethklok mastermind Brendon Small said. “If you’re going to do this, you gotta go big and over the top. This is going to be a very fun show for people.”

Small added that it's a special time for the band to go out and tour, as 2023 saw the release of both Dethklok's fourth studio album  Dethalbum IV  and the film  Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar.

“This is a very fun time with the tour, the album, and the movie. I don’t know if Dethklok will be touring forever,” he admitted. “So, it’s important for people to know they should get it while it’s hot.”

Recent tour reviews

Is there such a thing as a virtual band? That’s certainly the category that Gorillaz have claimed to fall into all these years, although whether that’s actually truly been the case is probably up for debate, bearing in mind that the narratives that Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett actually created for their animated characters was usually a muddled, half-baked one. That’s not really an accusation you can reasonably level at Dethklok, who come fron an impressive background conceptually; they appeared on the Adult Swim cartoon Metalocalypse, and went on to prove so popular that an actual, real-life band was assembled to tour the world playing their songs. They’ve gone from strength to strength since, releasing four full-length albums - the most recent dropping last years - and touring extensively. Their shows tend to be ridiculously technical affairs, as evidenced by a slew of U.S. dates throughout 2012; they brought their trademark warped sense of humour to the table, as well as some furious riffery, to delight their American fans. Their British counterparts, however, have been waiting a while for some new shows; they’ll be hoping some are pencilled in sooner rather than later, in support of last year’s The Doomstar Requiem.

DETHKLOK announce 'Mutilation on a Spring Night' 2024 tour

DETHKLOK 2023 LOUDER THAN LIFE PROMO, Nathan Zucker

Order Revolver's Dethklok collector's issue, limited-edition vinyl variants of all their albums, and official band shirts in exclusive colorways at  our shop .

The most brutal reunion of all time is getting an extension into 2024. Last year, Dethklok  — the real-life version of the cartoon  Metalocalypse   band — released their first album in 10 years, Dethalbum IV , and embarked on their first tour in 11 trips around the sun.

It wasn't a surefire thing that the band would continue grinding away, but at least for the time being they are. Today (February 6th), Dethklok have announced a spring 2024 headlining tour where they'll be traveling around the U.S. with power-metal maestros Dragonforce and melodeath goofballs Nekrogoblikon.

Dubbed the "Mutilation on a Spring Night" tour, the trek will begin April 7th in Myrtle Beach and snake throughout the U.S., mostly in the Midwest and on the West Coast, before concluding May 3rd in Portland.

"I love bands that celebrate guitar and bands that have a lot of fun onstage," Dethklok mastermind Brendon Small said in a press release. "I also love bands that don't, but for this tour, I think it makes sense to have a lot of dragons, goblins, and 'kloks together.

"If you're going to do this, you gotta go big and over the top. This is going to be a very fun show for people."

Tickets go on sale Friday February 9th at 10 a.m. local time. See the dates below.

Earlier this month, BABYMETAL announced the addition of a new third member, Momoko Okazaki , who will go by the name of Momometal .

Okazaki had been a member of BABYMETAL 's trio of backup dancers (along with Kano Fujihira and Riho Sayashi ),known as " Avengers ", since 2019, following the departure of one of BABYMETAL 's original members, Yuimetal , in October 2018.

Momoko 's addition to BABYMETAL was announced during the band's show at the Pia Arena MM in Okazaki, Japan.

Momoko was once a member of SAKURA GAKUIN and participated in South Korean reality TV show "Girls Planet 999" as a contestant. However, the singer left the series after the show's first elimination round.

In 2018, BABYMETAL announced the departure of Yuimetal , who was formerly one of the members of the Japanese group's core trio. She exited the band, explaining in a statement that she would go on to pursue a solo career as Mizuno Yu .

BABYMETAL was formed in 2010. Their mission was to unify the world through heavy metal by creating a fusion of heavy metal and the Japanese pop genre. Their music contains a stunning mix of electronic pop, a pinch of alternative and industrial rock, and is leveled up by fast-driven heavy metal. Their live shows are ground-breaking and epic visual as well as sound performances. BABYMETAL continued to travel the path of metal with the international release of their three albums, telling the story of the mighty Fox God and his brave metal warriors.

A book about the first ten years of BABYMETAL , "Bessatsu Kadokawa Souryoku Tokushuu" , was released in Japan in October 2020. It contains a long interview with Su-metal and Moametal as well as never-before-heard stories from band producer Kobametal from BABYMETAL 's decade-long history, photos taken from live shows, a discussion between Demon Kakka and Kobametal , and much more.

BABYMETAL 's latest concept album "The Other One" , was released on March 24.

On the heels of the tour announcement comes the news of the long-awaited return of "Metalocalypse" . In addition to DETHKLOK hitting the road, a full-length original film, written and directed by DETHKLOK 's Brendon Small , "Metalocalypse: Army Of The Doomstar" , a companion soundtrack and "Dethalbum IV" will also arrive this year.

"It's very surreal having so much new 'Metalocalypse' and DETHKLOK this year with the trifecta of the tour, movie and album," said Small . "I'm so excited to get on the road with the powerful BABYMETAL , and to celebrate all the hard work that team 'Metalocalypse' and DETHKLOK put in over the last two years and beyond."

The "Babyklok" tour will also include appearances at Blue Ridge Rock Festival in Alton, Virginia (September 10), Louder Than Life in Louisville, Kentucky (September 23) and Aftershock in Sacramento, California (October 7).

"Metalocalypse: Army Of The Doomstar" was written and directed by Small and produced by Titmouse , Adult Swim and Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment . The film stars Small , Tommy Blacha , Victor Brandt ("Metalocalypse"), Stephen "Thundercat" Bruner (Grammy Award-winning musician), King Diamond (KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE), Mark Hamill ("Batman: The Animated Series", "The Machine"), Kirk Hammett (METALLICA), Jon Hamm ("Confess, Fletch", "Top Gun: Maverick"), Scott Ian (ANTHRAX), Amy Lee (EVANESCENCE), Malcolm McDowell ("A Clockwork Orange"), Juliet Mills ("Passions"), Laraine Newman ("Saturday Night Live"), Raya Yarbrough ("Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem - A Klok Opera"),and Livia Zita (King Diamond's wife and 2022 winner of Society Of Voice Arts And Sciences Award).

The all-new animated movie begins after the heroic rescue of Toki Wartooth ; DETHKLOK frontman Nathan Explosion finds himself traumatized in a brutal professional and romantic flat-spin, all while he is tasked with fulfilling the prophecy and confronting the ultimate songwriting challenge to save the planet. Can Nathan Explosion look beyond his brutally damaged ego to save his band, stop the Metalocalypse, and finally face the ultimate evil: Salacia ?

As a special highlight, fans can also anticipate the release of two full-length albums this year. WaterTower Music will release both the film soundtrack, "Metalocalypse: Army Of The Doomstar (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)" as well as "Dethalbum IV" around the launch of the film. Meanwhile, fans can summon DETHKLOK by streaming the "Metalocalypse: Dethklok Complete Collection" playlists.

"Metalocalypse" originally premiered in 2006 on Adult Swim and was created by Small and Blacha .

On the heels of the tour announcement comes the news of the long-awaited return of Adult Swim’s favorite heavy metal adventure, “Metalocalypse.” In addition to DETHKLOK hitting the road, a full-length original film, written and directed by Brendon Small, “Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar ,” a companion soundtrack and “Dethalbum IV” will also arrive this year.

Concert Review: Dethklok x DragonForce x Nekrogoblikon — Mutilation on a Sunday Night

Old National Center was the place to be this past Sunday night for goofy, irreverent metal acts and an overall enjoyable night out. The sold-out show attracted numerous fans who dressed up and painted their faces, and didn’t take anything too seriously.

They’ll Bite Off Your Face if You’re up to No Good

Nekrogoblikon is nothing short of pure absurdity. The five-piece melodic death metal band, hailing from Santa Barbara, has got to be one of the most ridiculous (in the best way!) openers I’ve ever seen, with one of the highest levels of crowd engagement as well. For those like me who were heretofore unfamiliar, Nekrogoblikon’s focus in music and on stage is…well, it’s goblins and green and overall foolish ghoulishness. There are two main vocalists, “John Goblikon” and Dickie Allen, the latter of whom primarily screams.

A fair few people were definitely there specifically to see this band perform, including several friends we bumped into (shoutout to Andy and Lindsey!)

Musically, the band is proficient, but obviously the main attraction is the goofy goblin onstage, who cracked jokes between songs and made the 30 minute sent fly by too quickly.

Those who don’t like screamo bands will still enjoy their live performances, as the goblin pantomimes and preens around the stage until it is his turn to sing or speak.

These guys absolutely deserve their own tour, or at least longer sets!

With the Force of a Dragon We Will Conquer Them All!

Here to promote their newly released album,  Warp Speed Warriors , Dragonforce transitioned everyone to the nerdy as hell part of the evening. Best known to me as the band with the song from Guitar Hero 3 that I have refused to ever attempt under any circumstances (“Through the Fire and Flames”, anyone??), this British power metal group’s music can best be described as epic and euphoric. The stage setup included two gigantic inflatable dragons, tons of aesthetic fog, and two towering arcade cabinets that doubled as risers. There were several notable points in the set, including the crowd yeeting around a giant stuffed chicken during the  Legend of Zelda -themed song, “Power of the Triforce”, and frantic covers of Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” (minus the pennywhistle solo L) and Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams”.

The band did take a brief pause towards the end of their set as an audience member towards the front of the room went down and lead guitarist Herman Li halted everything until he knew the fan was safely removed from the venue and in the care of a medical professional. There have been accidents at just a few other shows I have attended, but I always appreciate seeing band members taking the time to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at their shows.

The set obviously had to finish off with “Through the Fire and Flames”, with vocalist Marc Hudson ribbing fans about how many plastic guitar controllers were smashed in retribution of this song.

The Duncan Hills Awake You from a Thousand Deaths

This is the first and potentially only time I can say that I have attended a concert of a fictional band. For those who don’t know, Dethklok isn’t real and Dethklok can’t hurt you. All jokes aside, the entire concept of this doom metal band originates from the Adult Swim series  Metalocalypse , and on tour is comprised a series of animated videos with accompanying live music. The actual performers are in silhouette basically the entire show, which forces main focus on the visuals.

The show started off with “Deththeme”, literally the theme song of the TV show. It also introduced us to the five animated band members: vocalist Nathan Explosion, lead guitarist Skwisgaar Skwigelf, rhythm guitarist Toki Wartooth, bassist William Murderface, and drummer Pickles (No last name).

The premise of this show was fun and enjoyable, especially since I did watch episodes of the series here and there in high school and college. However, it was at this point in the evening where I almost wished that there was an option to sit, but I think a major reason was that we had to both watch and listen to get the most out of being there. I found myself getting dizzy a couple of times while trying to simultaneously nod my head to the music AND focus on the giant screen in front of me.

A notable point in the evening included “Concert Tips with FaceBones”, which were video shorts featuring the titular, anthropomorphic band logo. These regarded practicing basic hygiene so as not to offend fellow concert-goers, as well as a cheeky yet cautionary message discouraging fans from imbibing in more drugs or alcohol than they know they can handle.

Creator Brendon Small has put so much time and effort into this project since 2007 and it shows. Metalocalypse has not been on the air for some time now, but the Egyptian Room still managed to easily sell out.

-This was a very fun and unique concert experience, especially with how Dethklok’s set is structured.

-The di-(tri-?)chotomy of the bands’ sounds and stage presentations

The Not-As-Good

-Nekrogoblikon’s set was so short!

Taylor Swift kicks off European tour in Paris with setlist changes

Taylor Swift fans from North America are going the extra mile — literally.

The pop star kicked off the 18-city European leg of her “Eras Tour” on Thursday in Paris, where she was joined in the París La Défense Arena by thousands of American Swifties who flew overseas to see her.

Thursday’s concert introduced a new setlist that reordered certain eras — including by moving “Red” up to earlier in the night — and combining the “Evermore” and “Folklore” eras, according to social media users who posted from the concert. She also performed songs from “ The Tortured Poets Department ” for the first time .

More than a quarter of tickets for the four Paris shows this weekend were purchased by Americans, according to Frédéric Longuépée, CEO of the París La Défense Arena. Tickets for the venue’s shows all sold in under an hour, he added.

“To the best of my understanding, a lot of Americans chose to come to Paris to attend this show and obviously visit our beautiful city,” said Longuépée, who estimated “something like 25–30%” of the crowd would be Americans, “which is big.”

Kennedy Smith, 21, skipped her college graduation to fly with her mother, Kathleen Smith, 56, from Texas to Paris to attend Swift’s concert instead.

Kathleen Smith said getting to see the singer was “nothing short of a miracle” — the pair stayed up all night in hopes of securing tickets, which cost them around $1,500 each. The two were first in line Wednesday to purchase merchandise at the venue, walking away with two bags full of Swift-themed gear.

Her daughter called the experience the “trip of a lifetime.”

“This is my graduation-from-college gift at Texas A&M,” she said. “And I’ve always wanted to come to Europe. ... And then to be seeing Taylor Swift, it’s just a dream come true.”

Securing tickets for the North American “Eras Tour” initially proved so difficult that the Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing criticizing Ticketmaster’s “monopoly” after the platform canceled ticket presales in November 2022 amid overwhelming demand.

Some fans had reported that their invite codes failed to work, while others said they abruptly lost the tickets they had already placed in their cart. The chaos, which garnered a response from Swift herself , led Ticketmaster to offer some scorned fans a second chance at buying tickets.

The saga continued last year when Ticketmaster halted ticket sales for the “Eras Tour” shows in Paris and Lyon, after the website crashed amid technical glitches and hourslong wait times plaguing the more than 700,000 fans in the queue.

Zoe McCormack, a Canadian fan who experienced the Ticketmaster crash , said she managed to get tickets the following week for multiple nights in Paris, where she now lives. She said her non-VIP tickets here cost €190 each, or about $205, making them more affordable than U.S. tickets.

Many tickets for Swift’s shows in Europe cost only a fraction of what tickets cost for her U.S. dates, making them more financially accessible for North American fans who either failed to secure tickets in the U.S. last year or found prices too exorbitant. Some resale tickets sold for tens of thousands of dollars.

“I’m so happy that she came to Paris, especially since she has that ‘Paris’ song. I’ve been waiting for this moment ever since I moved to Paris,” McCormack said. “I’m so excited to be here. I can’t believe that it’s already here because we got the tickets almost a year ago. So it’s been a whole year of anticipation, getting the costumes ready, getting our bracelets ready.”

Traveling to see concerts abroad is not a new phenomenon, as buying tickets for concerts in the U.S. has become an increasingly competitive and highly expensive ordeal for fans of popular artists such as Swift, Beyoncé and Olivia Rodrigo . Many American fans of Beyoncé also opted to see her “Renaissance World Tour” in Europe instead .

Swift’s next stop, in Stockholm, expects to see about 10,000 American attendees, Stockholm Chamber of Commerce Chief Economist Carl Bergqvist told The Associated Press . Airlines have also added extra flights from bordering Nordic countries, he added.

The pop star was lauded last year by the U.S. Federal Reserve and several municipal governments for her economic impact as “The Eras Tour” boosted tourism revenue nationwide. Europe may experience the same effect, as Bergqvist said Stockholm’s 40,000 hotel rooms are sold out for Swift’s three tour dates there, and that “Eras Tour” concertgoers are expected to inject around 500 million Swedish krona, or more than $46 million, into the local economy.

How Taylor Swift Includes The Tortured Poets Department in the Eras Tour

Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour - Paris, France

A fter a two-month hiatus, Taylor Swift returned to the stage today, embarking on the European leg of the Eras Tour . Swift performed the first of four nights in Paris, about three weeks after she released her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department .

Soon after the album’s release, fans were convinced Swift would add The Tortured Poets Department to the Eras Tour, based on the star’s social media activity. On April 25, Swift posted a YouTube Short video of her rehearsing for the tour, in which the album’s opening song “Fortnight” could be heard. The caption read: “A fortnight til Paris.”

In an interview with Radio France , Swift’s French tour promoter said she would be including new songs from the album on the next leg of the Eras Tour. “We are going to discover a slightly modified show since she has released a new album,” he said.

As the show kicked off in Paris on Thursday evening, all signs pointed to The Tortured Poets Department 's inclusion on the setlist. Fans noted that it was included in the tour intro:

Taylor Swift makes changes to the Eras Tour set in Paris

Swift added The Tortured Poets Department to the Eras Tour intro and reordered the setlist on the first night in Paris. The "Lover" portion of the show previously ended with the song "The Archer," but on Thursday, Swift skipped it, going from "Lover" to "Fearless." After the "Fearless" era, Swift went right into the "Red" era instead of "Evermore," and followed that up with songs from Speak Now and Reputation . Fans noted that Swift skipped performing "Long Live" from Speak Now , which she added to the setlist last July.

Other changes followed when Swift went into the "Folklore" era. While the "Evermore" and "Folklore" eras typically occurred at different parts of the show, in Paris, Swift announced she was combining them, since they are "sister albums."

"On the Eras Tour, we have now reunited the sisters, combined them into one chapter. You can call it "Folkmore," you can call it "Everlore," she said, before performing "Champagne Problems" (from Evermore ) followed by "August" (from Folklore ).

How The Tortured Poets Department is included in the Eras Tour

Swift introduced the "Tortured Poets" section of the Eras Tour after a performance of "Bad Blood," with the set turning into an image of a long road. She opened the new era with a performance of "But Daddy I Love Him."

The second song in the "Tortured Poets" era was a shortened version of "So High School," followed by a performance of "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?"

Swift then sang "Down Bad," as an image of a UFO flew above her, before performing the album's opening track, "Fortnight." The next song from Tortured Poets was "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived."

Then, Swift changed into a gold jacket, while a jazzy tune played, before singing "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart."

But the "Tortured Poets" era wasn't over. After "Paris," Swift performed the melancholy "loml," track 12 from the new album, before diving in to the "Midnights" section of the show with "Lavender Haze."

The Tortured Poets Department made history as the most streamed album in a single day, accumulating over 300 million streams—beating out the previous record holder: Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter . It also became the fastest album to amass over one billion streams in just five days, making it the most streamed album in a week with over 799 million streams. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with 2.61 million equivalent album units (this includes vinyls, CDs, cassettes, and digital album downloads). Swift celebrated the album’s success with a post to Instagram sharing photos of her and her collaborators making the project.

The caption reads, “2.6 million ARE YOU ACTUALLY SERIOUS?? Thank you for listening, streaming, and welcoming Tortured Poets into your life. Feeling completely overwhelmed,” she writes. “I was already so fired up to get back to the tour but you doing THIS?? May 9th can’t come soon enough.”

Taylor Swift is about to go back on tour: Here's what to expect on the Eras Tour in Paris

dethklok tour set times

After a two-month break, Taylor Swift is revitalizing her titanic Eras Tour in Paris, and fans believe there are changes coming to the show.

If you are wondering where she's playing, if there will be changes and how to score tickets, here's everything we know.

And if you're new to the Eras Tour party, you can get caught up on the first 83 shows here .

When does the Eras Tour start again?

Swift kicks off the European leg of her tour on Thursday, May 9, in Paris. She will perform Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, as well, in the City of Light.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

What are Taylor Swift's tour dates in Europe?

There are 69 shows left in the Eras Tour: 51 in Europe, nine in America and nine in Canada.

The European leg stretches from May all the way through a five-night stand at Wembley Stadium in London in mid-August.

See a complete list of international dates here .

After she wraps up in Europe, Swift will stop in Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis before wrapping up in Canada.

See the remaining U.S. dates here .

What is the Eras Tour set list?

The Eras Tour has featured a massive 45-song set list you can check out here . But speculation is swirling it won't look the same when Swift takes the stage in Paris.

Will Taylor Swift add 'The Tortured Poets Department' to her set list?

The tortured poet has been on hiatus keeping her stamina up by releasing a double album of 31 tracks. The 2-hours-and-2-minutes project broke a number of Billboard records as the superstar did zero press to promote it. Fans flocked to stores and streaming services to listen to all the songs from "Fortnight" to "The Manuscript."

Although the singer has not confirmed whether her 11th era album will be added to her Eras Tour set list, she did post a YouTube shorts video with two scenes that sent Easter egg decoders into a frenzy. In one of the shots, the singer is next to a railing where a "TTPD" logo appears to be (at 0:11). In the succeeding shot, her back-up dancers perform holding canes and wearing top hats, something they have not worn previously.

Swift's dancers and bandmates posted to their Instagram stories as they left for France last week. The singer did not appear at two media events with her boyfriend Travis Kelce: the Kentucky Derby and a Formula 1 race in Miami , Florida. Patrick Mahomes, Kelce's friend and Kansas City's quarterback, attended the car racing spectacular with his wife, Brittany.

Can I still get Eras Tour tickets?

Swift's show is completely sold out in Europe and North America. There are resale sites with tickets, but be wary of scams. The best way to avoid getting swindled is continuously checking links on Swift's website . There are some for resale on the sites verified by her camp.

Singapore was a hotbed for fans who traveled thousands of miles only to get turned away at the venue. In Tokyo and Australia, last-minute ticket drops happened a few days — without announcement — ahead of the shows.

Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis — the three U.S. cities Swift is visiting in the fall — have some of the heftiest price tags with Canada closely behind. In may be cheaper to travel to Warsaw, Poland, or Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Here's a list of cities with the cheapest resale tickets, according to travel website  Islands.com .

10. Vienna, Austria — total average cost: $1,089, safety score: 69.72

9. Cardiff, U.K. — total average cost: $1,061, safety score: 61.83

Who are the opening acts?

Paramore launched the Eras Tour in Glendale, Arizona, in March 2023, so it's fitting the American rock band is opening the tour's second year. The act will open for Swift for 51 shows across Europe . The band was dubbed the 2024 Record Store Day global ambassador and surprised fans in Nashville the weekend following the release of "The Tortured Poets Department."

When the tour comes back to North America in October , Swift's opening act will be Gracie Abrams.

Where can I watch if I don't have tickets?

The Eras Tour is one of the first tours that has been followed, globally, by thousands of fans on digital platforms. Fans dedicate part of their concert experience to livestreaming as Swift performs. A few Swifties have learned how to host their own shows over social media including Tess Bohne , known as the livestream queen. Bohne goes live for (almost) every show pulling streams from Instagram and TikTok. When a livestream goes down, she fills the time with banter.

On YouTube, user @TaylorSwiftHockeyBro also livestreams the three-hour show, and on Twitch, @folkleric , is a host fans follow.

There is also an app, Swift Alert , that notifies fans who only want to watch certain eras like the acoustic, surprise set. The app sends out push alerts if there are any major announcements.

What secret songs are left?

For the past 83 shows, Swift has played an acoustic set she customizes at each stop with a guitar and piano performance. In 2024, the Eras Tour star added mashups of her songs for each stop. Here are the songs she has yet to perform:

  • "Taylor Swift" (debut album): "Mary's Song" and "A Perfectly Good Heart"
  • "Fearless": "The Way I Loved You," "Change," "Superstar," "We Were Happy," "That's When," "Don't You" and "Bye Bye Baby"
  • "Red": "Girl At Home," "Ronan," "Forever Winter" and "Run"
  • "1989": "Sweeter Than Fiction"
  • "Reputation": "I Did Something Bad"
  • "Lover": "London Boy," "Soon You'll Get Better" and "It's Nice to Have a Friend"
  • "Folklore": "Hoax"
  • "Evermore": "Happiness" and "Closure"
  • "Midnights": "Paris" and "Glitch"
  • "The Tortured Poets Department": all 31 tracks

Will Taylor Swift perform in 2025?

There have been many rumors that Swift will continue her show in 2025, but they are only rumors. Nothing has been announced for next year, and as of now, the tour will end in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Dec. 8.

More: Taylor Swift unveils new Eras Tour set list in Paris

'Midnights' set follows secret songs

Swift stuck to her original set list for the "Midnights" era by singing "Lavender Haze," "Anti-Hero" and "Midnight Rain." She ended the night with a triumphant rendition of "Karma" as usual.

'loml' is second secret song

Fans got one more taste of "The Tortured Poets Department" when Swift played the heartbreaking song "loml" on the piano during her secret set.

'Paris' is a secret song, of course

Swift started her secret set with "Paris," a bonus song from her "Midnights" album.

'Tortured Poets' set list

Swift played these songs from her newest album:

  • "But Daddy I Love Him"
  • "So High School"
  • "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me"
  • "Fortnight"
  • "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived"
  • "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart"

New 'Tortured Poets' set is here

Toward the end of her show, Swift officially launched the long-awaited “The Tortured Poets Department” section of the tour after the 1989 era.

Swift performed the track “But Daddy I Love Him” off the April 19 album for her ecstatic fans while wearing a new beige dress with cursive letters.

A road spiraled down the catwalk in an animation to initiate the era. The background animation showed a deserted road while large cages animated and fell on the road.

“Oh my god you should see your faces,” she sang.

She quickly segwayed into a brief moment of “So High School,” the beloved track speculated to be about her romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. She quickly performed the powerhouse anthem “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me.”

Swift switched to “Down Bad” before seamlessly transitioning into the lead single “Fortnight.” Stage production recreated an asylum that resembled the music video for the song with Post Malone, recorded harmony played concluding the song.

Dancers entered the stage in a marching band style format playing drums as she performed the wrath-fueled song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.” Jan Ravnik and Kameron Saunders then revived Swift in a jazzy skit to set up “I Can Do With A Broken Heart,” where she debuted another new outfit.

“The End” text displayed wrapping up the era that’s likely here to stay. Other beloved tracks like “Guilty As Sin” and “Florida!” did not make the cut.

New '1989' outfit

Swift never goes out of Style. During her “1989” set, she debuted a new, sequined outfit of blue and pink. Her sparkly shoes matched with a different colored heel on each. For the bridge of “Blank Space,” the crowd started chanting in Sydney, Australia, “Syd-ney” as a nod to the 1989 World Tour concert movie where Swift would chant the name of the city she was in after hitting a pole with a club two times. Singapore followed the chant and Taylor Nation tweeted they want every city to incorporate the fan-fueled chant. In Paris, thousands chanted “Par-ee,” the French way to say the capital city.

Swift made no cuts to the "1989" set.

Four songs cut from 'Folklore' and 'Evermore'

The new set list cut four tracks from the "Folklore" and "Evermore" eras:

  • "'Tis the Damn Season"
  • "Tolerate It"
  • "The Last Great American Dynasty"

The combined set included eight songs altogether and wrapped up with "Willow."

'Folkmore' set debuts

Swift revealed she merged the 2020 pandemic albums “Folklore” and “Evermore” into one section. She told fans she wrote “Folklore” to represent spring and summer with “Evermore” representing fall and winter in what she always considered sister albums.

“On the Eras Tour we have now reunited the sisters, combined them into one chapter,” she said. “You can call it whatever you want as long as you promise to sing ‘Champagne Problems’ with me.”

'Folklore' set: 'Cardigan' makes the cut

Many fans had speculated "Cardigan" would be cut from the set list. But Swift actually moved it to the top of the "Folklore" set.

Up next: 'Reputation'

Swift kicked off her fifth set with "Ready for It?"

Another surprise: 'Speak Now' era comes fourth

Swift updated her "Speak Now" set with an intro dance featuring Raphael Thomas and eight other dancers wearing flowy purple dresses. She then sang "Enchanted."

Fan favorite track "Long Live" was cut from the set list.

Order of eras changed

After a fairly routine "Fearless" set, Swift altered her concert by including the “Red” era third instead of the expected “Evermore” set. Previously, "Red" came fifth.

With a new shirt that read “This Is Not Taylor’s Version,” the singer performed "22" and showed her audience that they needed to leave any expectations at home.

The relocated "Red" set included the same four songs: "22," "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," "I Knew You Were Trouble" and "All Too Well (10-Minute Version)."

Beflore playing “All Too Well (10 Minute Version),” Swift talked about bringing all of her favorite memories to France. She did her 2019 “Lover” live show here but hadn’t brought a tour to the country since the Speak Now World Tour 13 years ago.“I cannot thank you enough. I’m so moved," she said.

Follow along with set list changes here .

First set list change

Swift cut "The Archer" from her "Lover" set before beginning her "Fearless" set in a silver and black minidress as opposed to her classic gold one. A graphic showed her "Lover" house with a new addition in the attic for "The Tortured Poets Department." Her "Fearless" set remained the same with "Fearless," "You Belong With Me" and "Love Story."

'Je m'appelle Taylor'

In her monologue before playing the song "Lover," Swift waid the night would span 18 years of music. Previously, the concert covered 16 years. Get ready for a "The Tortured Poets Department" addition some time tonight.

She confirmed the tour would still go era by era, and also spoke about how Paramore is a band she idolized since she was a teenager. She ended with some French: "Je m'appelle Taylor."

First new outfit

Swift debuted a new, orange bodysuit and jacket for the "Lover" set.

Snippet of 'Tortured Poets' in intro

A snippet of the song "The Tortured Poets Department" was included in the intro music Swift kicks the concert off with. Is she foreshadowing other changes ahead? It seems likely.

Taylor Swift takes the stage

Swift took the stage about 8 p.m. in Paris (2 p.m. ET) to relaunch her Eras Tour in Europe. She kicked it off with a countdown clock and the Lesley Gore song "You Don't Own Me" as usual. Then she began her "Lover" set with "Miss Americana."

Paramore covers Blondie, Talking Heads in Paris set list

At the Paris show Thursday, Paramore energized fans with eight tracks including their cover off the upcoming “Stop Making Sense” tribute album out May 17 featuring artists like Miley Cyrus and Lorde.

Debuting a blond mullet, lead singer Hayley Williams encouraged fans to dance without fear of judgment ahead of Swift’s performance.

“Enjoy your time with Miss Taylor, we will see you next time,” Williams said.

Paramore's set list included:

  • "Hard Times"
  • "Burning Down the House" (Talking Heads cover)
  • "Caught in the Middle"
  • “Brick by Boring Brick”
  • “The Only Exception”
  • “That’s What You Get”
  • “Ain't It Fun”
  • “This Is Why”

Paramore opens European leg of Eras Tour

The American rock band is joining Swift on her European leg of 51 shows. Paramore also opened the show for two nights in Glendale, Arizona, in 2023. Their setlist then included nine songs:

  • "This Is Why"
  • "That’s What You Get"
  • "The Only Exception"
  • "Still Into You"
  • "Rose-Colored Boy"
  • "Misery Business"
  • "Ain’t It Fun"

Where to watch the Eras Tour livestreams

The Eras Tour is one of the first tours that has been followed, globally, by thousands of fans on digital platforms. Fans dedicate part of their concert experience to livestreaming as Swift performs. Livestream Queen Tess Bohne has spearheaded the "Great War" to find fans going live on social media and broadcasting a custom show to tens of thousands of fans almost every night on her account @tessdear .

On YouTube, user @TaylorSwiftHockeyBro also livestreams the 3-hour show, and on Twitch, @folkleric is a host fans follow.

There is also an app, Swift Alert , that notifies fans who only want to watch certain eras like the acoustic, surprise set. The app also sends out push alerts if there are any major announcements.

Madonna Brings Massive Free Concert to Rio, Capping Celebration Tour

The pop superstar performed a final date on her global trek marking four decades of hits: a set on Copacabana Beach before the largest live crowd of her career.

A blond woman in a corset is visible on a large screen at a concert, while a crowd is seen before her, and other screens display a grid of black-and-white photos of faces.

Reporting from Rio de Janeiro and New York

When Madonna stepped out onto the mammoth stage constructed on Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach on Saturday night in a gleaming halo headpiece and black kimono, she was greeted by the largest live crowd of her four-decade career.

The free show, announced in late March, was a grand finale to the pop superstar’s latest world tour, which has delivered 80 performances since last October . Without ticket data, concert crowd sizes can be difficult to gauge; Riotur, the municipality’s tourism department, estimated that 1.6 million people flooded onto the 2.4-mile stretch of sand on Saturday that had been turned into a roughly $12 million playground surrounding the 8,700-square-foot stage.

It was the culmination of days of Madonna-mania in the city, where talk of the singer, 65, was inescapable. Her songs spilled out of stores and car stereos. Fans assembled outside her hotel and shouted her name. Updates about the concert, which was broadcast on the network Globo TV, dominated local media reports.

The spectacle in Rio was a milestone in Madonna’s career: the victory lap for her first stage retrospective, called the Celebration Tour , in which she chronicled her rise to stardom, performing hits like “Into the Groove,” “Like a Prayer” and “Ray of Light” with a cadre of dancers, four of her six children, and a wardrobe of elaborate costuming that recalled some of her most memorable looks.

“Here we are, the most beautiful place in the world,” Madonna announced early in the concert, indicating the ocean and the mountains around her. “This is magic.” Later, she expounded on her gratitude for her Brazilian fans. “You have always been there for me,” she said. “That flag: that green-and-yellow flag, I see it everywhere. I feel it in my heart.”

The two-plus-hour Rio show hewed closely to the Celebration show, with a few exceptions: Madonna added her 2000 track “Music” to the set list, rearranged as a samba with live drummers and a special guest, the Brazilian drag star Pabllo Vittar. “Live to Tell,” staged as a tribute to victims of AIDS , included photographs of the Brazilian musicians Cazuza and Renato Russo, and the actress Sandra Bréa. For “Vogue,” Madonna appeared in a sparkly dress in the colors of the Brazilian flag and was joined by the pop sensation Anitta , who helped “judge” the competitors strutting down the runway.

The show had lifelong Madonna fans — many of whom came dressed in homage to their heroine in cone bras and lace gloves — screaming and dancing along. Ernesto Magalhães, 42, adorned in the style of Madonna’s “Material Girl” era in a gown and boa while balancing on stilts, epitomized the exuberant spirit of the occasion: “I’ve been a Madonna fan since I was 8; I couldn’t miss this.” Surya Rossi, a 31-year-old illustrator, decided on a last-minute trip from Rio Claro, São Paulo, after coordinating with her cousin, and stayed with friends. “Madonna has been a tremendous influence on me, both as a feminist and an artist,” she said. “Her empowering history and approach inspire me.”

It was also something of a landmark moment for live concerts globally. At a time of astronomical ticket prices and rising production costs for major shows, a free concert attracting a crowd of this scale is exceedingly rare, especially in the United States. California’s Coachella festival, where a three-day general admission pass starts at about $500, draws up to 125,000 attendees a day. Musikfest, a mostly free music festival in Pennsylvania, welcomed about 1.3 million visitors over 11 days last year.

“To have a free show like that in recent years is relatively unheard-of,” Katelyn Yount, the director of festivals at AEG Presents, said of Madonna’s closing show. Hangout, an upcoming music festival on Alabama’s Gulf Coast that is among the annual events AEG produces, is capped each day at about 40,000 attendees, who pay more than $300 for a three-day pass.

If a performance of this magnitude was going to be held anywhere in 2024, it would probably be in Rio, where officials have experience with enormous crowds. In 2006, about 1.5 million people attended a free Rolling Stones concert at Copacabana Beach, Brazilian police and other authorities said at the time. An even larger crowd was said to have gathered for a Rod Stewart show there on New Year’s Eve in 1994.

The idea for the sprawling event was first planted two years ago, when Luiz Oscar Niemeyer, an executive with Bonus Track, a live entertainment company based in Rio de Janeiro, approached Madonna’s managers after hearing about plans for the tour. The Rolling Stones concert in 2006 helped convince him that something like this was possible, he said.

Negotiations stalled until last year, when a Madonna show in Mexico City was announced — ticketed dates for the Celebration Tour ended up wrapping with five nights there at the Palacio de los Deportes — and Niemeyer resumed his efforts to convince the pop star’s representatives and secure funding.

“It was an ambitious project for everyone, aiming to attract the largest audience of her career, and I thought this would help me persuade her,” Niemeyer said in an interview last week.

The concert’s corporate backers include the Brazilian bank Itaú and Heineken, and the government has made a significant investment as well.

Preparation for Madonna-palooza had consumed a segment of the city in recent days. A week ago, cargo planes carried about 270 tons of concert material to the city, including costumes and gym equipment. Eighteen sound and video towers were built across the beach, and last Wednesday, 4,000 workers prepared the stage in scorching heat.

Because this was the only Celebration concert in South America — Madonna last toured there in 2012 — fans congregated from all over the continent. In the days leading up to the event, a Madonna impersonator, Izelene Cristina, danced to “La Isla Bonita” at a bus station as she welcomed travelers. She would not be attending the concert because excitement over the superstar’s performance had led to a flood of bookings.

“Such is the life of an artist,” she said. “You work to move and entertain people.”

On Monday, Madonna and her touring team of about 200 arrived in Rio, heading directly to the French Riviera-inspired Copacabana Palace, the luxury hotel near where the stage was built. Later in the week, crowds gathered as close to the stage as possible, as the pop star crossed a specially built footbridge from the hotel to the stage to rehearse with some of her dancers.

Social media was flooded with clips of Madonna running through songs including the opener, “Nothing Really Matters.” “Are you happy? Are you ready?” she asked the assembled crowd at one point . The response: wild cheering. “OK, just checking,” she replied.

At a press briefing ahead of the concert, officials discussed the safety concerns that can accompany an audience of that size and unpredictable weather on the shore. Last year, the Brazilian D.J. Alok scheduled what had been billed as the “concert of the century” on Copacabana Beach, but a storm led part of the crowd to scatter, and concertgoers were faced with rampant pickpocketing , a problem at least some faced on Saturday night as well.

Marco Andrade, a spokesman for the Rio police, told reporters that the department planned to deploy 3,200 officers at the Madonna concert, compared with about 900 for Alok’s event. He said that facial recognition technology would be used at inspection areas, in addition to drones to monitor the crowd. In the end, the audience stretched into the ocean as well — a collection of boats anchored in the waters near the venue.

The atmosphere on the ground Saturday night was like a World Cup event, street carnival and New Year’s Eve celebration combined. Street vendors offered shirts, hats, cups and fans adorned with Madonna’s face and rainbow colors, and a plethora of barbecue, grilled cheese, empanadas and the Brazilian cocktail caipirinhas were available. To fight the heat, a firefighter atop a fire truck sprayed a jet of water on the crowd.

As the show ended with a remix of her 2009 track “Celebration,” Madonna addressed the audience for a final time: “Thank you, Rio,” adding “obrigada,” the equivalent in Portuguese. She smiled and let go of a Brazilian flag, flipped a white veil over her head and descended beneath the stage.

An earlier version of this article misstated the name of the Bonus Track executive who approached Madonna’s team about the Brazil show. He is Luiz Oscar Niemeyer, not Luiz Guilherme Niemeyer.

2024 Wells Fargo Championship live stream, watch online, TV schedule, channel, tee times, golf coverage, radio

One week and one big-time event separate players from the second major championship of the season.

wells-fargo-championship-flag-g.jpg

An elevated purse, additional FedEx Cup points and one last trophy before the PGA Championship are all up for grabs this week at the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship. With 69 of the best players on the PGA Tour and many of those names who aim to factor in a week's time at Valhalla in the field, the Wells Fargo Championship is likely to produce a major championship-type leaderboard on a major championship-type test.

Quail Hollow once again hosts the Wells Fargo Championship as it has done so in the past, including last year when Wyndham Clark broke through for his first career PGA Tour victory. Clark has since transformed into a completely different golfer winning the U.S. Open later that year and has since tacked on this year's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am while consistently contending in these signature events.

While Clark was the top man a year ago, Rory McIlroy has been on that perch over the last decade or so. Three times a winner at Quail Hollow and fresh off his 25th career PGA Tour victory and 35th birthday, the four-time major champion hopes to continue this upward trajectory ahead of his return to Valhalla -- the site of his last major championship triumph in 2014.

McIlroy's drought consists of major championships, but that of Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Tommy Fleetwood and Cameron Young consists of PGA Tour wins. This lot has combined to get shutout over the last two years and will hope to breakthrough for a much-needed title in Charlotte.

Masters contenders Collin Morikawa and Max Homa plan to tee it up while Hideki Matsuyama and Viktor Hovland round out the action at Quail Hollow.
