When I use my Smart Cruise Control (SCC) and I am driving behind a car, it does not recognize the car in front of me. And if I decrease or increase the SCC distance then he still does not recognize it, very sometimes he recognizes and goes away after 3 seconds but then I have to be close to the car, usually he recognizes it in trucks but it would also be on a normal family car to work.

The Smart Cruise Control Unit is located in the front bumper, and is the brains of the SCC as well as having an integrated radar sensor. The camera is not used at all for SCC.

I am actually quite impressed with the SCC and CC system, especially when descending hills. The system brakes the car to maintain the set speed, instead of running away with itself. My previous car (Volvo XC60) also only had 5mph increments and just went faster and faster down hills. The Kia system is far more intelligent.
