Planning Your Day

We understand that you want to get the most out of your day in Isla Cozumel but it is important to allow a little extra time and flexibility in your itinerary. While we try our best to stay on schedule there are times especially with large groups or during peak season that may slow us down a bit. We do not suggest that you schedule other time-sensitive activities immeiately after your Sea Trek.

Restrictions

Participants must be at least 8 years of age and weigh at least 80 pounds (36.3 Kg). This tour is not recommended for those with back/neck injuries, history of seizures, vertigo, recent surgeries, heart conditions, or asthma.

TWO LOCATIONS: • Downtown at Jeanie's Beach Club • Chankanaab Beach Adventure Park

The Historic Downtown location is great if you're looking to combine shopping, restaurants and monuments in your day's itinerary.

Chankanaab Park is a natural setting with other activities like a small beach, Mayan village and saltwater lagoon. The entarnce fee to Chankanaab Park ($26usd per adult) is not included in your Sea Trek tour purchase.

Transportation is not included in this adventure. Reservations required, no walk-ups

By Ferry from Playa del Carmen

Take the ferry 90 minutes to two hours before your scheduled time. Arrive at the ferry terminal in Playa del Carmen at least 15 minutes before departure. Once in Cozumel you can take a 12 minute walk south (turn right as you exit the pier) to the downtown location inside Jeanie's Beach Club. If you don't feel like walking, you can also take a taxi ride to Jeanie's or to the Chankanaab Park location.

We suggest a short taxi ride from the ferry pier, cruise ship pier or your hotel here in Cozumel.

Two locations. Getting to Jeanie's Beach Club (downtown) or Chankanaab Park is easy. Jeanie's Beach Club is located downtown on the waterfront across from Mega Comercial (big supermarket) and Chankanaab Park is located on the South Coastal Rd Km 9

Great adventure, awesome customer service!"

After reading about all the options for an excursion, we decided on Sea Trek, and we were not disappointed!

I was a little nervous at first, but the people there were accommodating and were made me feel at ease. While on the bottom of the ocean, they continually would check to make sure you were ok. It was a great experience.

Glad we choose Sea Trek.

You Must Experience this Helmet Diving Tour!"

We chose Sea Trek, which was amazing!

We were the only 2 in the group that day, so it made the trip even more surprising since we had extra time in the water.

The Sea Trek staff was great! I would recommend this excursion!

The CLOCK IS TICKING

Birgit getting into the water with the help of her sea trek guides.

Although you will be able to enjoy the many advantages of dealing with local family-owned business, it does have one severe downside.

With most of our clients coming from the cruise ships, which bring in around 20,000 cruise visitors daily, we get booked up lightening fast seven days a week.

Which means you now have a crystal clear choice

You can either take your time to ‘think about it’ – only to come back later and find your choice of day has now been made, so you either have to miss out entirely or settle for a trip with another Sea Trek tour company, where you probably won’t enjoy the personal attention of a family member.

Maybe even have to pay extra for soft drinks, and water – and struggle to understand your guide’s broken English.

Gary and his family taking a picture inside the water.

You can make the smart move and immediately decide about which day you want to take your tour on and instantly check if we are still available.

Then, once you’ve made your booking, you can relax, enjoying the warm feeling of knowing you’ve made a wise choice and start to plan your trip to make it a truly FIVE STAR memory that you’ll always cherish.

Sounds like it an easy choice to make, so my family and I are really looking forward to meeting you and showing you our beautiful island first hand!

Alberto Novelo

Chief guide, the summary of the tour.

Tia enjoying her first sea trek tour in Cozumel.

Why should the best be reserved for others & not you?

Haven’t you worked hard to afford this trip to Cozumel and so don’t you deserve the best that is on offer?

Because we focus on giving you the highest possible personal experience, seamlessly delivered by our uniquely qualified and highly experienced fluent English speaking guides, we are strictly limited to a few Sea Trek Excursions a day.

I’d hate for you to be disappointed and miss out on your chosen day, so I urge you to check availability right now, and then go ahead and book your Sea Trek Tour…

Amazing Sea Trek diving experience"

This excursion was fun. We are a family of four. My 15-year-old son enjoyed this excursion.

With that said, the experience was refreshing. I would do it again. The tour guides were always right there underwater with you.

Walk under the water with this fun Sea Trek Helmet Dive. No prior experience is necessary except being comfortable in the water! Enjoy Chankanaab Marine Park afterward.

As you arrive at Chankanaab Park your guide will show you where the Sea Trek activity is set up. Please note that the entrance fee to Chankanaab is not included, the cost per person is $26 USD. This includes use of the facilities such as chairs, hammocks, loungers, shade, restrooms, dressing rooms, inlet swimming areas, showers, and more. There are restaurants where you can purchase food and drinks at your own expense.

Sea Trek helmet diving is a safe underwater experience that everyone can do. Instead of carrying a heavy air tank strapped to your back, you will wear a type of underwater helmet that gives you a wide-angle view of the teeming sea life below the surface. If you wear prescription glasses, you can keep them on, and your hair will stay dry under the helmet. Your air is supplied through a hose from the surface as you walk along the bottom.

Before you get started, your certified, highly trained guide will show you the use of your equipment including the hand signals you will use to communicate with your guide and how to clear your ears. Lockers are available to store your belongings while you are in the water safely, for rent. Your Cozumel Sea Trek shore excursion guide will lead your small group into the water. The calm aqua blue and crystal clear ocean water at Chankanaab Marine Park make it an ideal location for this beginner's underwater Sea Trek Cozumel diving adventure.

The Mayan word "Chankanaab" means "little sea," and you will be diving in the Chankanaab cenote, which is a coastal cenote at the ocean's edge“ a cozy enclave for viewing marine life. The maximum depth you will go is just 20 feet and your underwater time is approximately 25 minutes. The visibility is clear and you are so shallow that it is very light from the sunshine at the surface just overhead.

When your time under the water is finished, you may choose to stay in the park to experience a variety of other activities at an extra cost. You might decide to get close to Mayan history on the archeological replicas walk or stroll through the lush botanical gardens where you can view more than 350 species of local island plants. Watch the process of handmade tortillas. Check out the tequila displays or maybe even the cacao chocolate site. Off-the-beach snorkeling will take you to Chankanaab Reef, where you can see the underwater Christ and Madonna statues as well as a rich variety of ocean fish - the snorkel gear is included for Sea Trek participants' unlimited use. There is also ziplining for those who are looking for an adrenaline rush. There are also other activities on site available at an extra cost, such as diving, snuba, manatee swimming, and dolphin encounters.  When you are ready to leave, taxis are available at the main entrance for your short trip back to your Cozumel port or to explore more of the island.
