Today, multi-diamond certified, GRAMMY® award winning artist Macklemore has released his latest studio album BEN, along with his latest single ‘ No Bad Days’ and accompanying music video, directed by his 7-year-old daughter Sloane . Watch HERE.

Macklemore has also announced North American dates for THE BEN TOUR produced by Live Nation, set to start on September 17 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, the 19-date tour will make stops across both coasts and the mid-west. Last night, Macklemore was the speaking guest on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon [watch interview HERE ] and will be performing a new track titled ‘Tail Lights’ – taken from his latest album – next week on Tuesday, March 7. This morning, Macklemore will be performing ‘No Bad Days’ live on NBC’s The Today Show.   

BEN is Mackemore’s highly anticipated third studio album. “ I’ve always wanted to make an album called Ben ,” he shares. “There’s something about a self-titled record. It has an air of voyeurism. I’m letting people in, but in a way that I hadn’t felt 100% comfortable about allowing before. I am now though.” hroughout 2020, he found himself with a rare pocket of time for introspection during the Global Pandemic—something not typically afforded to a father of three and touring musician… 

“ I did experience a level of reflection I don’t think I’ve been able to truly tap into in the past,” he affirms. “This mandatory pause and the time created a level of intimacy that might not have been there if the world had continued to operate how it was.” 

Joined by a tightknit group of collaborators such as Budo, Tyler Dox, and Experience, he ventured to the island multiple times for focused five-day trips. “ I’ve recorded in nature before, but I never had the opportunity to do so with no ending in sight,” he reveals. “We were removed from all external distractions. It just flowed. The idea was, ‘Let’s just make art, because we get to—not because we have to . Let’s capture that magic’ .” Harnessing this magic, Macklemore heralded the album throughout 2022 and 2023 with fan favorites; ‘ HEROES’ featuring the legendary DJ Premier, ‘CHANT’ ft Tones and I, ‘FAITHFUL’ Ft. NLE Choppa and ‘Maniac’ Ft Windser.  

On “ HEROES” [feat. DJ Premier ], a head-nodding beat laced with horn samples, a thick bass line, police sirens, and scratching sets the pace, Macklemore tells his story in dynamic, yet nostalgic bars, “Wanted a perm like DJ Quik, my mama said, ‘Ben, are you aware your hair is way too thin?’ But in my mind I was junior high Iceberg Slim . ” “I was raised by nineties boom-bap hip-hop,” he goes on. “It inspired me more than any other era. It was pivotal for me coming of age as a 15-year-old and figuring out who I was. ‘Heroes’ is the story of growing up in the late nineties, where hip-hop was at, where skateboarding was at, and where graffiti culture was at. It had a massive impact on where I ended up in my life. Premier is one of my favorite producers of all-time too. He had a massive influence on me as an artist and as a person. You know it’s him right away.” 

Then, there’s the single “ NO BAD DAYS” [feat. Collett ]. Upbeat guitar ushers Collett’s hook along at full speed as Macklemore counters in a catchy call-and-response. He assures, “Don’t gotta say goodbye, if you never wake up . ” “It’s just a vibe,” he observes. “It’s one of those songs you put on in the car, and you’re immediately in a better mood. I love making a record that I can’t wait to bump in the whip when it hits 70 degrees.” 

Elsewhere, “DAY YOU DIE” [feat. Sarah Barthel of Phantogram ] hinges on a steady beat punctuated by palm-muted guitar. Macklemore and Sarah ponder mortality with unabashed honesty, repeating “We all gone die . ” Vocal phenom LIVINGSTON lends his powerhouse pipes to “ SORRY, ” while the closer “ Tail Lights ” blinks through the haze with a sign of life encoded in the lyrics. “In recovery, there’s this idea where you’re essentially following your sponsor’s tail lights,” he reveals. “When I get someone to sponsor, they’ll follow my tail lights. Whose tail lights are we really following through life? It’s definitely the more introspective side of the album. What did I learn in the last four years of making this? What matters still?” 

Once you hear BEN , you’ll never look at Macklemore the same way. “ Songwriting is the glue for my entire career,” he leaves off. “If you’re not writing words that resonate, the music isn’t going to have depth, weight, or longevity. I’m not trying to follow. On this album, I’m being authentic to who I am. I’m reflecting on where I am in life. Turns out, I’ve learned a lot.”

THIS WAS FUCKING AWESOME! It was the best night of me life! It was a big party and the show was amazing. Macklemore is just a great, inspiring and funny guy. He has songs with deep lyrics but also songs that you just want to sing along with really loud (that’s why I didn’t have a voice anymore the next morning). I will definitely see him next time he is in Holland again!

Macklemore just announced his 2023 ‘ben’ tour: get tickets today.

Macklemore has had a whirlwind 24 hours.

Following the release of the charming “No Bad Days” music video directed by his seven-year-old daughter, Sloane, the Grammy-winning rapper dropped his fifth album “BEN” and then announced ‘The ‘Ben Tour’ that will bring new music as well as the radio staples you know and love like “Thrift Shop,” “Can’t Stop Us” and “Same Love” to fans all over North America this fall.

Yes, that all really happened on Friday, March 3.

And, midway through the 20-concert run, Macklemore, whose real name is Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, will make a stop in the Big Apple when he plays New York City’s The Rooftop at Pier 17 on Sept. 22.

For fans who can’t wait to grab tickets to see Macklemore “deliver great fits, hits and so much more” as he declared on Instagram , we’re here to dish out an assist.

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, March 10, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Macklemore new music

As noted earlier, Macklemore’s long-awaited album “BEN” is his first in six years.

Over the course of 15 tracks, Macklemore rhymes over synths, horns and alongside catchy falsetto hooks while often dealing with mortality.

If that sounds like a sonically diverse experience, you’d be right.

“BEN” is also all over the place thematically which isn’t a bad thing — it’s just a lot.

The record is heavy in places (“DAY YOU DIE”), glib about social media in others (“LOST/SUN COMES UP”) and occasionally overly joyous like in the jubilant lead single “CHANT” featuring Tones and I.

All that being said, Macklemore fans will certainly be pleased with “BEN” — it’s Macklemore at his most vulnerable and showy all at once.

In addition to the exciting album and tour news, Macklemore also recently appeared on The Tonight Show to address his recent struggles with addiction as well as his painful relapse during the pandemic.

“A big part of my recovery community is going to physical 12-step meetings,” he shared with host Jimmy Fallon. “Once those stopped, I was alone, and the disease of addiction was like, ‘Yo, this is crazy. The world has stopped. You can get high.'”

Although he’s doing better, Macklemore added, “It’s the one disease that tells you, ‘You don’t have a disease.”

“Now,” he said, “I am doing my best.”

Mobilize Recovery is an annual experience that brings participants together to build capacity for organized community engagement for people in recovery, family members, and recovery allies. Its mission is to expand policy to support recovery, create connections to supportive services that are vital and lifesaving, and to engage affected individuals in meaningful action. Now in its fifth year, Mobilize Recovery has become a nationwide phenomenon.

It’s often coined that recovery meets people where they’re at. That’s why in 2024 we’re partnering with recognizable organizations, brands, & individuals across the country to bring the Mobilize Recovery experience to their communities once again. Launching in September 2024, Mobilize Recovery Across America will depart on a cross-country bus tour from September – October 2024. At each stop, community trainings will be offered, overdose response supports will be offered, local policy members will be engaged, and communities will be brought together to highlight the recovery experience that is so unique in different pockets throughout America.

Macklemore drops new album, charts tour that will hit Spokane, Portland

One of the Emerald City’s homegrown hip-hop heroes is hitting the Pacific Northwest on tour this fall — with Seattle conspicuously missing from the list of dates.

Macklemore announced a tour Friday morning that will visit theaters and arenas around the country in support of his latest album, “BEN,” which he released via his Bendo LLC imprint at midnight.

Macklemore, born Ben Haggerty, will embark on a slew of North American dates for the BEN Tour in September after a run in Europe. He kicks off the American leg Sept. 17 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and will pop around the East Coast before reaching the West in October. Presale begins Monday morning.

The Evergreen State College alumnus and four-time Grammy winner, one of Capitol Hill’s most recognizable residents, will play Portland’s Roseland Theater Oct. 7 and 8 before heading to Spokane, Missoula and Boise, but the “Can’t Hold Us,” “Same Love” and “Glorious” rapper does not have a Seattle date listed on this run.

Don’t fret too much yet about the lack of a hometown date, though.

As Seattle-based music writer Travis Hay noted on Twitter, Seattle’s Bumbershoot festival has yet to announce its lineup. The festival takes place two weeks before the tour kicks off in Tennessee. It’s speculation at this point, but keep an eye on that festival’s headliners when announced.

Though he’s never replicated the commercial or critical success of his breakout smash “The Heist,” which won four Grammy Awards in 2014, the rapper has stayed busy in Seattle, stoking music programs that develop young local artists , joining the Seattle Kraken ownership group , launching a golf fashion brand and, of course, making music. Also on Friday, Macklemore released the music video for his latest single “No Bad Days” featuring Collett, with the song’s video spearheaded by his “dream director,” his daughter Sloane.
