All the locations where you can visit Santa in Dublin city centre this Christmas.
Melissa Carton
Santa Claus is coming to town!
It’s an annual tradition for most families to visit jolly old Saint Nick once the holiday season rolls around.
I remember when I was little standing in the queue at Cleary’s, jumping up and down with excitement at the thought of getting to see Santa in person.
While Santa no longer stops by Cleary’s, he does still pop into many locations around the city centre and if your child is hoping to catch a glimpse of the man himself here are the places where they can.
Jervis Shopping Centre
If your child wants to visit Santa ASAP, then you’re in luck because he’s already in the Jervis and looking forward to lots of visitors!
The grotto is currently open from 10am – 6pm every day except for Saturday where visits begin at the later time of 12pm. From December 1 opening times will extend to 9am – 7pm on the weekends.
A visit plus parcel costs €10 for one child but discounted rates are available for those with multiple children.
Ilac Shopping Centre
Another Santa already set up and ready to welcome you into his grotto, the Ilac shopping centre are currently taking bookings for their Santa Experience.
Prices are €10 per child and €5 per adult and you can book your timeslot through their website .
One of the capital’s most popular spots to visit the man himself, Arnotts ushered in the festive season with the arrival of Santa on November 18.
You can find Santa’s Grotto on Level 2 of the store beside the magical Christmas Wonderland.
Everyone who visits the Grotto will get a collectable I’ve Seen Santa at Arnotts 2018 badge and there will also be a professional photographer to capture your visit.
The store provide a virtual Santa Q (which you can find here ) so you and your little ones can avoid waiting around for long periods of time.
Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre
Situated at the top of one of Dublin’s busiest shopping spots, Santa’s grotto at Stephen’s Green comes highly recommended by parents.
Having arrived on November 24, this is one Santa experience highly anticipated by both parents and children.
The grotto is open daily from 10am to 5pm and ticket prices are €10 for visit and gift and €15 for visit, gift and photo.
GPO Witness History
Set to be something extra special, Santa will arrive at the historical GPO on December 1.
Not only will children get to visit Mr Claus but they can also find out Santa’s best kept secret, how all their letters make it to the North Pole !
Tickets to the grotto are €16 for children and €8 for adults and includes a visit to Santa’s Grotto, a special gift, hot chocolate and a self-guided visit to the award-winning GPO Witness History Visitor Experience.

Santa’s Grotto Jervis - Really Good!
Took my 7 year old daughter & 16 year old daughter to Santa’s Grotto in Jervis Centre (for the family photo of course).., in December 2021.. it was very well organized with the spacing to stand.. the guy who scanned our tickets was super friendly and inclusive with the whole family .. the fake snow was really good too & the Santa was really good .. it was quite bizarre to see Santa behind a screen but the organizers did a great job… his ‘ho ho ho’s’ we’re really authentic and he spent time talking to us .. didn’t feel like we were rushed at all ..wound highly recommend
I would just like to praise the staff at your store in the Jarvis Centre Dublin my hubby and I were purchasing a gift for our granddaughter and a very kind member of your staff a young lady brought us to the top of a very long queue as it was very hot in the store on that day as we are pensioners we very much appreciated the kind gesture well done to your lovely staff thank you so much
Staff and MANAGER were very rude and unhelpful. Was returning an item and they told me it was not possible as I had the “wrong receipt” I tried explaining my situation and the member of staff told me that I was not understanding her. She went on to say “OKAY I’ll explain it for the third time because you clearly DO NOT UNDER-STAND” I was APPALLED as there was no need to be getting angry with me. Even if I did not understand her situation she should of been fine with explaining it to me once more again calmly. She continues patronising me and hands me over to her manager. Turns out I was correct and had the correct receipt so the awful encounter I had was completely unnecessary and not needed. I went on to tell the manager I appreciated her helping me but I did not appreciate the disrespect I was treated with but before I finished my sentence she cut me off and ignored what I said. I was given no apology for the beyond terrible service I experienced.
Small shopping centre in the heart of Dublin City. Not that many shops there so if you really need to do some big time shopping, this probably is not the best place to go to. Went round the hall in less than 90 minutes. Food court was also quite small with the usual Burger King, KFC and Asian meal options available. If you are looking at very light shopping this place will work. However heavy shopping can’t be achieved here.
I went to see Santa with my 3 year old autistic son and I have to say he was absolutely fantastic my son had lovely experience would definitely recommend him so kind, he was like the real Santa .5*****
Very nice little shopping centre in dublin city center. Car parking just down the road. Walking distance to pennys :) Clean, very spacious.

Potentially not a place attracting tourists but a good place to escape the hustle and bustle of Dublin. Really good places to eat which were quite and more peaceful than ‘outside’ Where possible Dublin shops, as a tourist you my find it too plain but it is really worth a visit even for it’s calmness
The popular shopping street Henry Street (similar the Grafton Street South of River Liffey) on the east end that started with the famed General Post Office then heading west eventually became Mary Street, this department store is mid end and reasonable price. Basement you will find the British supermarket chain Tesco where almost Wal-Mart like. Various merchandises at good prices. The mall is several stories high. Lots of shops, fast-food etc. Important for us tourists are: kept up public toilets. Free WIFI, seats. Also good place to escape the "fast and furious Irish rain"on this late September day.
We found the Jervis centre convenient for grabbing lunch whilst in Dublin. There is an M&S foodhall, Tesco and several fast food outlets.
Always a good shopping therapy for myself and the best friend. Home to BB's coffee shop which we always visit while in the Ilac Centre

We've hand-picked the very best places to visit Santa in Dublin that both you and the kiddos will absolutely adore this Christmas.
Visiting Santa is one of the most exciting parts of the build up to Christmas. In the past few years, Santa visits in Dublin have only gotten more magical and immersive with a whole array of traditional and unique experiences on offer in and around the city.
Here are ten Santa visits in Dublin you and the kids will absolutely love this year.
Airfield Estate
Dublin's beloved urban farm in Dundrum is back with its bespoke Christmas experience. Not only will you visit Santa but there are lots of gloriously festive bits such as the vintage carousel, hot chocolate in the Claus Cafe, and decorating in the Elves Kitchen. You will also get a family photo on Santa's sleigh in the Alpine Workshop.
The Christmas Experience at Tayto Park will see Jingles the Elf take you on a journey to show you the work of Santa's trusted workshop staff. You will also experience attractions such as Candy Land, the Reindeer Stables and of course, the visit to the big man himself.
Causey Farm
Causey Farm is set to come alive with festive spirit in 2021 with its Christmas experience. Help Mrs Claus pack Santa's bags for his big journey, slide into the toy workshop, stroll along the Bethlehem Trail, visit the reindeer and receive a gift from Santa at the end.
Stephen's Green Shopping Centre
Santa's arrival at Stephen's Green Shopping Centre is always a massive affair. Details are yet to be announced, but expect the same magic as always.
Retro Drive In Movies
Visit Santa from the comfort of your car at Leopardstown Racecourse this Christmas. Retro's North Pole Santa Experience includes a special movie screening, a live link to watch Santa's village in real time, Christmas karaoke with Santa's personal DJ and a personalised message from Santa himself for the whole family.
Palmerstown Estate
Self-proclaimed as "Ireland's best Santa experience", Palmerstown Estate promises nothing but magic and wonder as they transform their 1,100 acres for a drive-thru Christmas. Included with your ticket will be unlimited attractions at the funfair, a photo on Santa's sleigh and a visit to Elf Town. There's also an enchanted forest and the grotto where you will meet Santa.
Twinkling lights illuminate a forest trail as you make your way to your Santa visit at Luggwoods at the foot of the Dublin Mountains. Meet elves and fairies before stepping back in time into Mr Claus' cosy log cabin.
The Square Tallaght
The Square Tallaght will return with its Santa visits this year, with details yet to be announced. If past years are anything to go by, it'll be a wonderfully immersive experience featuring elves, photographs and age appropriate gifts.
EPIC Museum
One of Europe's top-rated museums, Epic , plans to invite festive visitors for an experience that includes hot chocolate and treats from The Bakehouse, a visit to Santa with a gift, a Christmas museum trail pack and entry to EPIC again in 2022.
Afternoon Tea with Santa
This is perhaps the most unique Santa visit you can have in 2021. Enjoy a cup of tea, spend time with Santa in his very own carriage on the lower deck, receive a gift, munch on freshly made sandwiches and scones and soak up the festive atmosphere that is so special to Dublin.
Croke Park will host a special GAA themed Santa experience this year where kids will get to visit the big man, take a tour of the pitch, give their 2022 All Ireland Championship predictions and receive a GAA themed gift. Plus, there will be the opportunity for them to show off their camogie, hurling and Gaelic football skills.
Jervis Shopping Centre
Santa arrives at Jervis Shopping Centre for what is expected to be a massively popular festive experience on Saturday, November 13th. Pre-booking is essential and opening times can be viewed here .
