Perth Tours
Best Perth Tours & Day Trips
Sitting pretty on the banks of the Swan River, Perth lures travellers in search of pleasant weather, endless sandy beaches and a laid-back lifestyle. Western Australia ’s vibrant capital is incredibly remote (nearly 3 hours flight to Adelaide, the closest Aussie city) yet at the same time incredibly well connected (hello direct flights from London). But whether you are travelling from Melbourne or Milan, it’s hard not to be charmed by Perth and its sunny vibe.
Perth Day Tours & Trips
Spend a few days exploring this easy going and beautiful city, then discover Western Australia’s true beauty by travelling to the spectacular and remote destinations further afield. Head south to uncover wine country, towering Karri forests and pristine beaches lapped by crystal-clear water. Or take a trip north through the wild and dramatic landscapes of the Pilbara and the Kimberley. Whichever direction you choose, you are sure to have an unforgettable experience as you journey through some of the most spectacular scenery Australia has to offer.
From Perth there are plenty of day trips that take you to the stunning attractions just on the city’s doorstep. Meet the iconic and highly photogenic quokkas on a day trip to Rottnest , an idyllic car free island just 45 minutes off the WA coast. Or get some unusual photos of the Martian-like landscape of the Pinnacles on our Perth Tours . Wine lovers will relish a chance to taste some of Margaret River ’s world-class drops on a day trip from Perth, or head to the nearby Swan Valley on our half-day tour.
Multi-Day Trips from Perth, Western Australia
To explore the white sandy beaches, ancient Karri forests and lush countryside of the South West , join our 6 Day Esperance & Margaret River Camping Tour . You’ll sample the premier wines of the world class wine region of Margaret River, walk amongst the canopies of giant tingle trees, and spot kangaroos on the snow-white beaches of Cape Le Grand National Park. At night, bed down in swags to sleep under the stars and count satellites as they whizz by. To extend the journey to South Australia , pick our 10 Day Perth to Adelaide Tour and keep going all the way across the Nullarbor.
See why making the trip out to Australia’s Wild Wild West is truly worth it when you head up to explore the spectacular and unforgettable scenery of Western Australia’s northwest. Tours that head north of Perth journey into increasingly remote country, where the distances are unfathomable and the beauty indescribable until you have experienced it for yourself. Explore the Kalbarri National Park and see dolphins come right up to the shore on the 4 Day Monkey Mia Tour . Keep heading north to discover the underwater world of Ningaloo Reef , with the chance to swim with whale sharks, on the 7 Day Exmouth Tour . For the ultimate WA trip, the 10 Day Perth to Broome Tour will take you all the way to the northern pearling town and its famous Cable Beach.

Perth takes life in its stride. Perhaps more than in any other Australian state capital, the focus here is on taking things easy, taking them slow, and savouring the good times.
Happily, there’s plenty to savour – both in the city, day trips from Perth or even further into WA. Perth’s weather rarely deviates from delightful, a sublime Indian Ocean sunset is never too far off and Rottnest Island – just a 25-minute ferry ride from Fremantle – is home to quokkas. Don’t know what a quokka is? Google Image ‘quokka selfie’ for instant merriment.
As a city that owes its fortune mostly to mining and agriculture, Perth often feels midway between a big city and small country town. Only a handful of skyscrapers silhouette the city skyline; parks, waterways and beaches are ubiquitous; and it’s widely appreciated that some things just operate at their own pace. Meanwhile, the dining is superb, the atmosphere cosmopolitan and the arts and music scenes taking off big time. Perth makes the weekend feel like a weeklong affair.

A couple of hours south of Perth our adventure begins with a meaningful experience when we visit FAWNA to participate in some volunteer work. This wonderful not-for-profit organisation, run solely by volunteers, was established in 1984 to support wildlife rehabilitators to provide the best care for orphaned, injured, or abandoned wildlife. Tasks vary depending on the day but include things like cleaning wildlife enclosures, gardening or planting trees. Meet and learn from the passionate people that protect the region’s wildlife, such as the critically endangered Western Ringtail Possums to kangaroos, birdlife and reptiles. In the popular tourist town of Busselton. It’s hard to miss the 19th-century jetty stretching 1.8km into the turquoise Geographe Bay. Grab a coffee and chat about the exciting things to come on your Esperance tour. A little way down the road, arrive at the Ngilgi Cave Ancient Lands, an immersive above and belowground experience. Go beneath the earth’s surface for a 45-minute semi-guided tour of the exquisitely decorated Ngilgi Cave. Above ground, discover 600 million years of stories associated with the land and its people. Then above ground, follow a pathway through the native bushland bringing to life the creation of the land, cave formations, cultural connection and native flora and fauna through a series of experiential nodes. After a picnic lunch, it’s time to taste the world-renowned Margaret River region. Visit a couple of cellar doors for tastings before arriving at our campsite to relax over dinner and spend your first night under the stars of the Milky Way. Today’s driving distance is around 320km. Accommodation Swag camping at Big Valley Caravan Park, which has toilet and shower facilities. Meals Included L | D
This morning, embark on an inspiring 7km hike along one of the most scenic sections of the Cape to Cape Track from Conto’s to Redgate Beach. Then, cool down with a swim before travelling a short distance to the Margaret River township. Enjoy some free time to wander the main street, discover the eclectic mix of shops and galleries, and grab lunch. Continue south into the pristine forests of the Walpole Wilderness Region. Within the old-growth karri forest of Warren National Park, you will find the Bicentennial Tree. At 65 metres high, this magnificent tree was once used as a fire lookout, but these days visitors brave enough to climb the 165 pegs to the top are rewarded with magical views. This evening, set up camp at idyllic Peaceful Bay and watch the sunset over the ocean. Settle in for another night of campfire tales under the stars. Today we drive around 350km. Accommodation Swag camping at Peaceful Bay Caravan Park, which has shower and toilet facilities. Meals Included B | D
After breakfast, we’ll pack up and roam to William Bay National Park. Here, turquoise water and snow-white sand are primed for swimming at Greens Pool. Enjoy some free time and a bite to eat before cruising along a scenic stretch of coastline to Albany. See how years of natural erosion have crafted incredible rock sculptures and granite bluffs at the Natural Bridge and The Gap. Travel onwards to the Porongorups, which rise from the landscape like an island. Over 1,100 million years in the making, the striking granite outcrop of Castle Rock invites you to walk its 670-metre peak through tall Karri and Marri tree forest and take in the jaw-dropping view from the suspended Granite Skywalk. Then, back on the bus, a drive through the picturesque Stirling Ranges will bring us to our campsite for the night. The driving distance today is around 240km. Accommodation Swag camping at a private campsite at Mt Trio, which has shower and toilet facilities. Meals Included B |L | D
This morning we have some distance to cover but come lunchtime, turquoise water will replace red dirt as we head into Esperance. This part of Western Australia has no less than nine national parks and some of the best beaches in the world. Grab a bite in Esperance before connecting to Country during a 90-minute Dabungool Cultural Experience. Join local Wudjari Nyungar mother and daughter as they guide you on a coastal walk to learn about the six seasons, bushfood and medicine plants that have sustained the Wudjari people for many thousands of years. Next, drive along one of the most enchanting stretches of oceanside road you’ll ever see. Take a dip at Twilight Beach, one of many breathtaking beaches along the iconic Great Ocean Drive. Travel a little further east to Cape Le Grand National Park, where we will set up camp at Lucky Bay. Here, you will find an ocean coloured all imaginable shades of blue and sand so white and fine it squeaks between your toes. The rest of the day is at your command. Bush walk through the untamed landscape or kick back on the beach and soak up the serenity. Today, the driving distance is around 525km, with plenty of stops along the way. Accommodation Swag camping for two nights in the well-equipped camping area at Lucky Bay which has shower and toilet facilities. Meals Included B | D
Sunrise is a sacred time here, and it’s also when the friendly western grey kangaroos are at their most active. Wander onto the beach to say hello before we spend a whole day unearthing this incredible national park in one of Australia’s most biodiverse regions. Traverse through lush bushland, swim at fantastic bays and coves and learn about its abundant flora and fauna. There are several hikes to choose from, or you can kick back and relax on the beach. This afternoon, embark on one of the best hikes of the tour, climbing Frenchman Peak to watch the sunset on our last night together. There are only 10km of driving today within the national park. Accommodation Swag camping again at Lucky Bay. Meals Included B | L | D
We have a lot of distance to cover today, so it’s up early and on our way. Stopping for lunch at a quintessential outback town, we’ll continue until we reach the 2,700-million-year-old Wave Rock. Rising 15 metres above the ground, surfing this natural granite wonder is a must-have photo opportunity. After, it’s back on the bus to see the historic township of York. Surrounded by pretty countryside, it’s easy to see why this location was the first inland settlement for Western Australia’s early colonists. Learn about the Rabbit-Proof Fence, built between 1901 and 1907 to keep rabbits and other agricultural pests from the east out of Western Australia. Finally, roll into Perth around 6.30 pm after travelling around 780km with stops along the way. Meals Included B | L

What people love about western australia tours.
I loved every aspect of this tour. Geoff was an AMAZING tour guide!!
A great tour with an excellent driver/guide, Carlos, full of information, well organized and sensitive to our needs. Lots of wonderful places to see and experience from sunrise to sunset. Long bus rides at times and a full bus so little room to stretch out. But worth traveling the distances. Highly recommend the one way tour and fly out from Exmouth
My partner Iouri and I enjoyed the 5-day Bungle Bungles tour operated by Kimberley Wild Expeditions. Emma and Daz were our tour guides who were very organised and helpful, Special thanks to Emma, who handled the truck breakdown very well. She organised meditation, exercises and morning walks for us. She cooked great dinners as well. We are both grateful for the amazing experience that they provided to us.

Perth day tour destinations
Pinnacles desert tours.
The weird but wonderful formations of the Pinnacles are made from limestone and are contained within Nambung National Park. A major natural attraction in the Coral Coast, the park is located approximately 200kms north of Perth. The structures of which some stand as high as five metres, were formed 25,000 to 30,000 years ago after the ocean receded and left deposits of sea shells, gradually leaving the Pinnacles exposed to the elements.
Perth City tours
Perth enjoys more hours of sunshine than any other city in Australia and as such, locals very much enjoy a relaxed outdoor lifestyle. The city is nestled between the Swan River and Kings Park, one of the world’s largest inner city parks. Half an hour away from Perth’s city centre is the dynamic and colourful port city of Fremantle renowned for its arty and alternative types. You’ll simply fall in love with its charm.
Rottnest Island tours
Just a short ferry ride from Perth or Fremantle is West Australia’s island getaway. Be mesmerised by Rottnest Island’s pristine beaches and bays, stunning scenery and impressive marine life. Bicycles are the transportation of choice and can easily be hired to make your exploration even more of an adventure. You’ll have no trouble slipping into the relaxed environment of this island life. You may even find it difficult to leave.
Wave Rock tours
Imagine a giant surf wave of 14 metres high and 110 metres long about to crash in the outback … what a unique natural attraction! Aptly named Wave Rock, the ‘wave’ is located in the country town of Hyden and is composed of multi-coloured granite shaped over time by the gradual erosion of the softer rock below the upper edge. It is believed to be over 2,700 million years old.
Margaret River tours
Margaret River and the south west region of this sizeable Western Australian state will leave you yearning for more. Renowned for its brilliant surf, pristine beaches, exceptional wines, decadent food and remarkable caves, you’ll have a day of varied experiences and scenic delights.
Capital of Western Australia nestled on the edge of the Indian Ocean. See the sights of Perth and it’s trendy coastal neighbour Fremantle, visit the beautiful Margaret River region with its wineries and stunning coastline, visit the dramatic natural landscape of the Pinnacles Desert and Wave Rock or the subtropical paradise of Rottnest Island.

The 5 Best Short Trips From Perth
Nature and urban life harmoniously combine in Perth. As Australia’s sunniest capital city, the city is marvellously laid-back, liveable and cosmopolitan. However, journey a bit further outside this bustling metropolis and you’ll discover white-sand beaches, world-class wineries and one of Australia’s best marine park wonderlands. So if you’re travelling for business and need to unwind over the weekend or planning a leisure trip, here is a list of our five favourite short trips from Perth.
1. Head to Fremantle for History, Markets and Some of Australia’s Best Beaches
Around thirty minutes south of the city you’ll find Fremantle, arguably one of WA’s coolest destinations and a spot that offers a myriad of must-see attractions suited to any intrepid wanderer.
ƒIf you’re a beach fan, then you’ll be in your watery element here with four main beaches perfect for paddling, picnicking and kite surfing. South Beach offers superb views of Rottnest Island, Port Beach is great for snorkelling, Leighton Beach ideal if you’re considering your first surfing lesson and Bathers Beach a top spot for a sunset fish ‘n’ chips feast.
History buffs enjoying a short trip from Perth should walk the worn pathways of the iconic Fremantle Prison, and if you love all things nautical, head to the WA Maritime Museum. Set on the shoreline of the Indian Ocean, here you can view a number of exhibits including an Oberon class submarine and Australia II, the winner of the 1983 America’s Cup.
Love shopping? Then you can’t miss the historic Fremantle Markets. Lively and chaotic, they are located a stone’s throw from the ‘Cappuccino Strip’ and feature over 150 stalls offering everything from jewellery and fashion to local produce and homewares.
2. Feast And Frolick Your Way Through the Swan Valley And Some of the Country’s Best Wineries
If you’re after a half-hour short trip from Perth, then head northeast to the Swan Valley, home to WA’s oldest wine growing region. Here you’ll find over 40 cellar doors, some fantastic breweries and if you’re lucky enough to have a designated driver for the day, can experience the 32-kilometre loop of the Swan Valley Food and Wine Trail, which takes in over 200 gastronomic attractions.
Visit organic wineries and award-winning microbreweries and then settle in for a vineyard-view al fresco lunch, or you can opt to fill a picnic basket with gourmet goodies and then laze about the lushness of Bell Rapids or Whiteman Park.
Here in the Swan Valley you can also pat a local kangaroo at Caversham Wildlife Park, wander through the vintage shops in Guildford, or take home a unique piece fashioned by one of the area’s talented painters, potters, woodworkers or printmakers.
3. Swim, Sail and Snorkel Your Way Around Mandurah and Its Picturesque Canals
If you’re after a seaside-bound day trip from Perth, an hour’s travel south will have you at Mandurah, which is an absolute nirvana for water sports lovers. Swimming, sailing, windsurfing, jet skiing, jet boarding … they’re all on offer here, and if you’re a mad angler, you’ll enjoy the fishing opportunities and the chance for crabbing in the shallow estuaries.
Adrenalin junkies might want to hit the iconic Munda Biddi Bike Trail (it’s the longest track of its kind in the world), play a few rounds of ocean-view golf, or visit Dolphin Quay at the Mandurah Marina.
And of course, no trip to Mandurah would be complete without a boat cruise on the area’s canals, where you can laze about on deck with a glass of bubbles while keeping your eye out for a glimpse of a wild bottle-nosed dolphin or two.
4. View a Breathtaking Underwater World from Busselton’s Jetty and Soak Up Its Maritime History
Thinking about a weekend getaway from Perth? Two and a half hours south of the city centre is Busselton’s pride and joy – its artificial reef and underwater observatory located at the end of the 1.8 kilometre-long Busselton Jetty. Descending eight metres beneath the water’s surface, visitors can view more than 300 marine species within its 9.5-metre-diameter observation chamber.
If you’re a little on the claustrophobic side, opt for a swim of the sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean instead, browse through an endless array of homewares stores and boutique fashion outlets, or for a spot of history, take a visit back to the 1800’s amid the memorabilia and the memories of the Busselton Museum.
5. Sip Wine in Margaret River and Marvel at the Wonders of Its Incredible Marine Life
For the perfect weekend escape from Perth, head for the uninterrupted coastline and rolling vineyards of the Margaret River. In just under three hours you’ll find yourself amid more than 150 world-class wineries, renowned for several blends including their cabernet sauvignons and chardonnays. Pair a day of wine tasting with a decadent five-course menu from one of the area’s top restaurants and your taste buds will truly be in heaven.
If you’re into wildlife, the Margaret River region is home to some of the best whale watching in Australia, boasting one of the longest running whale watching seasons in the world. From May right through to early December, Humpbacks and Southern Right Wales splash delightfully about these waters, and if you’re lucky you may even catch a glimpse of a Bottlenose Dolphin, a New Zealand Fur Seal or even the world’s largest living creature, a Blue Whale.
Whether you’re keen to day-trip it in comfort or you’re off to celebrate a wonderfully long weekend free from the hustle and bustle of city life, we can take you there in style.
