Because much of Paxos is covered by olive and cypress trees, the rich green contrasts perfectly with the aqua blue, crystal clear sea. Paxos has been voted one of the top 20 most beautiful islands in the world. 

Gaios, the capital of Paxos is a medley of cobbled streets, Venetian architecture and a pretty square on the seafront. The port has two small islands close to its entrance, Panagia and Agios Nikolaos. If you stop for lunch the restaurants serve excellent food.

The islands and the surrounding area have been classified under the EU Natura 2000 initiative, which protects threatened habitats and species. On Paxos this means that every olive tree that was planted during the Venetian occupation (1386 - 1797) is protected.

Antipaxos, the smaller of the two islands, 4 square km has many vineyards, owned by Paxos families. The wine can be bought on Paxos. Voutoumi Beach or Paradise Beach is at the north end of the island. Known for it’s pearl white sand and turquoise waters it is considered a rival to the perfect beaches of the Caribbean. 

Named the Blue Caves because of the colour of the sea surrounding them, they are located on the west coast of Paxos and can only be reached by boat. There are around forty caves which are linked together. One of the largest is Ypapanti, Ortholithos, a tall rock the base of which can be seen due to the clear water and Trypitos, a natural arched rock formation. 

The Greek God of the Sea Poseidon hid his mistress Amphitrite in the caves before severing the tip from Corfu to create Paxos as a love nest for them. This, Greek legend tells us, is how Paxos was formed.

In Greek mythology, Poseidon created the island by striking Corfu with his trident, so that he and his wife Amphitrite could have some peace and quiet. The seawater around the cave is vivid blue and thus they call them “THE BLUE CAVES”.The roof of one of the caves has collapsed and formed a hole through which the sunshine peeks inside.

If you’re someone who loves isolation and relaxation, Antipaxi is the remote paradise you’ve been looking for! Once you set your foot on the island, you’ll be impressed by its peaceful atmosphere . The highlights of Antipaxos, though, are its beaches! Virgin, with transparent waters, Antipaxos beaches will blow your mind. The best beaches of the island are Vrika and Voutoumi.

Vrika is the first beach you come upon, arriving on the island. Covered with sugar-fine white sand, it has the most dreamy emerald waters ! The water at this beach is shallow, so it’s a great choice for families with little kids. Apart from families, though, Vrika beach is ideal for those who love snorkeling . That’s because, on the north side of the beach, there is a cave, perfect for underwater exploration.

Voutoumi is another beautiful beach on the northeastern side of the island. You’ll find this beach inside a large cove with turquoise waters, surrounded by huge rocks. (Wild natural beauty, or what?) The water on this beach is also shallow and perfect for snorkeling.

The boat goes at a very steady speed along the coast of Lindos so you can take in the scenery. Watching the fish through the glass bottom and feeding the fish was great. The children loved seeing the fish and there was lots of time to take pictures and spot different fish. We ended by swimming in the most beautiful blue lagoon, the water was so warm, the children were given life jackets if needed. Neither were accurate. A small gripe to begin with - we were given a pick up point at a hotel that was a 30 min uphill walk away. Having met us, the minibus came back down the hill and picked up another group about 5 minutes away from our accommodation. Not sure why it wasn't co-ordinated better. We were then surprised to be driven to a layby and transferred onto a double decker coach (I would estimate carrying 100+ people). It was already full so only limited seats were available. The seat in front of us was broken and although the occupant apologised, my husband spent the entire trip with very little legroom. The 'professional and multilingual speaking guide' sounded like someone reading from Wikipedia and at times it was difficult to understand the commentary. We returned to Agia Pelagia at 6.45pm - not quite the 13-14hrs advertised but to be honest, it was a relief to be off the coach. I have booked many enjoyable tours, in many cities, but I was very disappointed with this one. If we'd had any idea that it wasn't a small tour (as advertised) we would have looked elsewhere. The description is totally misleading and it felt like we'd been subcontracted out onto a much bigger tour. I have emailed Any Destination with my feedback and after 6 days have had no reply. The boat was supposed to stop at three locations but only stopped at two because of the weather. The stop at Antiparos was beautiful. Snorkel gear was provided. There was plenty of food for lunch and snacks were also provided. Free beer and wine too! Because of the windy weather in the afternoon we couldn't sail back to the port we departed from so the company organised a bus to take us back. Music was playing on the trip and it was a good vibe. They were all so friendly, chatty, really nice crew, answered all the questions we had about the areas we were visiting, gave us some good travel trips for the island hopping we were doing, We got to stop a couple nice spots to swim, we stopped a place to explore a cave if we wanted to or to cliff jump if we wanted to. The water is incredible, crystal clear water I was in heaven. The lunch provide was delicious, the wine on board was delicious, and plenty, we started off as a quiet bunch but didnt end the day that way, we had a blast! I would recommend this cruise for sure. The crew had very little interaction with guests. The snorkeling equipment didn't work and ran out. It didnt mater because there weren't really any fish to see. We didn't see the caves because the water was choppy. The lunch was delicious! The water is a turquoise I've really seen in the ocean. You can jump off the boat and enjoy a nice swim. Experience Paxos, Antipaxos & the blue Caves

Picture yourself gliding across the blue sea, enjoying the sun and view as we set off from Gouvia Marina and cruise past Corfu’s Port and Old Town, taking in the morning calm. Leaving the little green island of Vidos to port, we head past the beautiful old town of Corfu, and of course its protector, the stunning old fortress.

Continuing south in the morning breeze, we spot the airport on our starboard, if we’re lucky we might see a plane landing or taking off in the golden background, as well as the famous mouse island.Soon on the horizon two islands can be seen, Paxos and Antipaxos. As we cross into the channel connecting the three, we can now enjoy a slightly faster speed to get to our first destination.

The legend goes that the picturesque island of Paxos was created when Poseidon wanted to create a romantic retreat for his love, Amphitrite, and so he severed the southern tip of Corfu with his trident.

On the steep rocky West coast of Paxos, a series of caves await our visit. Each one more impressive than the other, you can trust our experienced captain to pick the right spot for you to get the perfect picture, as you explore the caves. If you like you can even stop for your first swim of the day with clear waters beneath and the beautiful rocky coastline as your background.

A little further South lies Antipaxos. Described by many as the “Carribean” of the Ionian Sea, Voutoumi Beach and Emerald Bay with their white sands and bright turquoise waters are everything you wished for.

Surrounded by smaller caves and beautiful rock formations, Antipaxos is truly a gem of an island. Here, let our crew throw anchor at the perfect spot amongst the busyness, and let the fun begin! Whether it’s enjoying the midday sun with a lovely glass of wine on the bow of the boat, snorkeling in the crystal waters, or shooting around on a Seabob, the next hour or two will surely be heavenly.

A short distance up the coast again we find Loggos, a smaller village port, famous again for its excellent tavernas and restaurants, especially Vasilis Taverna Loggos, where the food is simply divine. There are also some perfect spots for swimming if this is preferred. Although not as buzzing as Gaios, Loggos is also traditionally stunning and quite the popular attraction, so we would advise you to make a booking if you so wish, well in advance. We can of course also take care of this for you.

As lunch comes to an end, we say goodbye to Paxos, and start the scenic journey back up to our beautiful Corfu. As we reach the southern tip, we pass the gorgeous little harbour of Boukari, a great little spot for the last dip of the day, or even a late lunch at one of Corfu’s most renowned fish restaurants. If not, we continue up north, again cruising past the breathtaking Old Fortress, this time in the more golden evening light, and, assuming time allows for it, another great spot for our last swim could also be just of the quirky little island of Lazareto on our starboard side as we cruise up the eastern coastline of Corfu. As the day comes to an end, you will see the beautiful Gouvia Marina up ahead, and we hope you’ll have had the most magical experience ever with us.

With an area of 25 sq. km and a population of 2500 inhabitants this green island, covered mostly with olive and cypress trees, is the smallest in the Ionian Sea.

The port town of Agii Saranda is situated in the southeast part of the country of Albania and is about 14 km east of the northern end of Corfu. In ancient times city was known by the name Onchesmus.

The town of Parga is situated in the province of mainland Epirus. Like a picture postcard from the past, the amphitheatrically built cosmopolitan city of Parga is one of the most popular destinations of the northwest mainland of Greece. The beautiful and very green landscape is often a pleasant surprise for visitors to Parga. With its natural beauty, picturesque bays, amazing beaches, the thousands of olive trees and enormous pine trees look like they are marching towards the Ionian Sea, which is often only separated by a small sandy strip.
