Hoppy made our girls adventure for us. So Knowledgeable and also loads of laughter. Would recommend Sea Life for a great Adventure loved the mangrove tunnels. Make sure and ask for Hoppy. Five stars but really a 10.

Ian Doherty was the best most knowledgeable tour guide explaining everything about the mangroves. He is the go to guide.

Hoppy was a great tour guide, lots of fun and very informative. We highly recommend them.

Ian was a terrific guide. My six year old grandson learned all about the flora and fauna of the mangroves!

I was in Sarasota a few years back and had wanted to do this tour but didn't get around to it. This time around, I scheduled it my first day here! It was absolutely lovely. Ian was my guide and he had so much knowledge about the wildlife, history of the area, and details about houses. We got to see manatees! I got to enjoy the full two hours on the water- they were prompt getting us out in our kayaks. I would definitely do this again.

My son and I had a wonderful time with Sea Life Paddle Rentals. We rented a random kayak and Hoppi, one of the owners, was incredibly helpful with getting us on the water efficiently and showing us the best routes to take as well as a little sandbar where we could get out of the boat and get wet for a bit. Their rates were very reasonable and their service is excellent! Just book right from their website! Very convenient!

Into the mangroves!

Hoppy was a great guide! Will definitely come back! We were able to see manatees and I loved hearing the history of the mangroves. Glad we were able to do it!

This is just such fun. I'm a bit out of shape, unless you consider round a shape. Chose a single kayak...and so glad I did. Its an easy trip and incredibly relaxing. The mangroves are absolutely amazing and so peaceful. Our trip was late May. Outside of the little black crabs running around the mangroves or the occasional bird, we didn't encounter any wildlife. Honestly though, it didn't really matter, just being out on the water and casually kayaking was so much fun. Things to know... 1. Feel free to take a camera I had no issues using my Nikon. 2. A dry bag a must (10L for camera or 5L for phone). It is worth the money and can easily be purchased online. Our kayak had scupper plugs (holes meant to be there) 3. Keep you phone handy for pics even if you have a camera 4. Water shoes are helpful. You will step in the water to launch. They can be anything from flip-flop to Crocs to whatever is ok to get a but wet getting in/out. The guide will help you so don't worry about flipping. 5. Apply sunscreen before taking off. 6. Wear swimwear/shorts you are ok with getting wet. Your paddle will have water on it and it will drip on you from time to time. 7. Have fun. The trip is super safe, the guide is super knowledgeable, and it's so enjoyable. You will have a blast! Thank you Jessica!!!

Sea Life Kaya Adventures are a great way to not only see the wilderness and wildlife, but LEARN about it all too! The owners actually come from conservation and science backgrounds, so they can answer all your questions and what you're seeing, and tell you pretty cool facts to tell your friends at school!

The Sea Life Guided Mangrove Tunnel Tours launch twice a day and give you around 2.5 hours of nature fun! Have you ever explored the Florida mangroves before!? 

It's great enjoying the view from a kayak too because it's more personal, you can take your time and really see things up close!

If you want to REALLY take your time you can just enjoy a self-guided kayak tour. They provide the life vests, and the directions, and all you have to do is enjoy the area in your own leisure!

Some of the wildlife in the area is amazing, so don't forget that waterproof camera! You might be able to spot manatees, crabs, exotic birds, even dolphins! You might even spot species that you haven't know before!

Explore this amazing saltwater tidal creek and the adjacent fertile spartina marsh rich with sea life, game fish, fiddler crabs, and a coastal bird watching paradise!

Part of this waterway borders the protected 1100 acres of Fort Clinch State Park.  Enhance your scenic Fort Clinch visit with a guided kayak tour of this popular estuary of the Amelia River.   Your guided kayak tour will give you the opportunity to view and enjoy a number of coastal birds, including egrets, pelicans, roseate spoonbills (sometimes mistaken for flamingos), and more...  maybe even a bald eagle!  Be on the lookout for dolphins, manatees, crabs, turtles, and many other native wildlife.  The Sea Life Adventure kayak tour will also bring you by Florida's oldest lighthouse, making for amazing photographic opportunities.

As temperatures dip across much of the country, we are blessed in Florida as winter remains a magical time to explore Little Sarasota Bay by kayak. Protected from cold fronts by surrounding land masses, the bay offers moderately warm waters even in January and February. The cooler months bring lowered humidity and wildlife drawn to the area’s mangrove-lined shores. Whether you’re a novice paddler or a seasoned pro, a winter kayaking tour of Little Sarasota Bay offers adventure and stunning scenery.

The bay’s mangrove tunnels top the list of must-see attractions. You’ll feel transported to a hidden world as you paddle narrow passages between soaring roots and leafy branches. Songbirds flit overhead while spotted rays glide through crystalline waters below. The tunnels provide sheltered corridors for viewing herons, egrets, native oysters, and other marine life. Where are the manatees in the winter?

Winter months see fewer West Indian manatees in Little Sarasota Bay as many migrate to warmer nearby springs and power plant discharge canals. But seasoned locals know substantial population winters in the bay, unfazed by “cold” coastal waters that seem balmy compared to frigid inland rivers. In the colder months, manatees with higher body mass and thickening protective fat layers linger. Catching a glimpse of these gentle giants, with their large bulbous bodies and crinkled snouts, rewards patient paddlers. Manatees graze on seagrass beds scattered across the bay and scavenge Mangrove leaves for nutrition. Our guides keep an eye out for the subtle whirlpools created by their tails or pathways of their large bodies gliding through shallow grassy areas. If you spot one – keep your distance, move slowly, refrain from touching, and cherish your manatee sighting!
