What an excellent day, jam packed, seeing the best of Fraser Island. Weather was challenging especially the beach experience which was my favorite. Our tour guide Wayne was very informative, experienced and fun. Australia at it's best, rough coastline and beautiful rainforests in a unique environment, Fraser Island.

We spent two days with P.T as our host. He was informative, friendly and was a great group leader and not to mention a super great driver. We were able to take in all the sights and had enough time in each place. The Eurong resort offers motel style accommodation which is clean but extremely basic no frills so don’t expect much although all food offered at the resort was totally delicious and certainly all dietary requirements were catered for and the food plentiful. The staff helpful and friendly. I would certainly recommend the tour it has been one of our favourite tours we’ve done and think the price was right for the proud.

I found it too expensive. 30 people in a bus and we paid 600$ for the experience -family of 3. Rent a jeep 4x4 and do it yourself

Dear glyka, Thank you for posting a review in this forum. Although we are sorry to hear that a guided tour was not to your liking, we do hope you enjoyed some of the stunning beauty spots we highlight on this tour and wish you all the best for the rest of your travels.

Let me get this out of the way first. Putting aside a racist and out of place joke told by the tour guide after I said where I was from, the tour was excellent. Fraser Island is a gorgeous place and a must visit destination if you come to Australia. During the 4WD day-tour you will be able to visit key areas of the island while enjoying meaningful and interesting information about the Island delivered by the very knowledgeable tour guide/driver. If you have the chance to do a 2 day tour, I would definitely recommend this option. That way you will have more time to enjoy and really take in the beauty of this place. At one point during the tour, you will have the chance to catch a scenic flight over the island, I was lucky enough to spot two whales with their calves from the air. It is a short 15 min flight that will cost you 80AUD if you decide to do it. One thing that bother me a little bit, was the fact that the tour is advertised as costing 200AUD but by the time you try to pay for it, the price increases to 220AUD. Not a big deal but I’d have preferred the final price to advertised from the beginning.

We had a great day from start to finish. 4 of us in total (two groups of two) and our driver and guide Greg in the Hummer. Greg tailored the day to us, showed us things a little off the beaten track and gave a detailed rundown of pretty much everything about the island. He has 39 years of experience which helped us to see dingoes, whales and dolphins and see many of the best sights all within a 12 hour period, whilst navigating insanely difficult sand roads! One of the best days of my life :)

I'm quite surprised by all the gushing reviews for what was a rather mediocre trip, and very over-priced. From the name of the tour, we were expecting to be in a small group, traveling in LandCruisers or similar. But no, this was tourism on an industrial scale, with a convoy of 200+ in six coaches by the time we got to Lake McKenzie. The day largely involves getting thrown around for hours in a jacked-up coach down narrow sand tracks in the forest. The rollercoaster ride is fun at first, but soon becomes tiresome. The middle of the day involves being driven miles up a sandy beach - quite cool, but ultimately just a road on the sand. The walk through the forest at Central station was pleasant but the tranquil setting was spoilt by the mass of people there with the same tour operator. The knowledgeable and friendly guide Gary mentioned that there is no limit on the amount of traffic allowed on the island. It's about time this was reconsidered.

From Rainbow Beach we went on a 2 day tour to Fraser Island which started perfectly on time and directly from our Hotel (Debbie’s Place). Keith welcomed us very warmly on his Bus and made the journey very pleasant by sharing good information with an excellent sense of humor and by playing very nice and cool music. After a good coffee at the Beach Resort we went to Lake McKenzie where the 2-day tour guests changed bus - which gave an extra hour for swimming in the clear waters of the lake - absolutely beautiful. Our new guide Dave was also an absolute stunning source of information. On our way to the different spots we learned a lot about the island, the history and the wildlife. Despite the rainy weather on day one we could really see all highlights and day 2 with much more sunshine was absolutely fantastic. Our personal favorite of all was the scenic flight with Air Fraser - a 15 Min hop over the island with take off and landing directly on the beach - unforgettable! The whole trip was very well organized, the guides were true professionals, keeping us on plan throughout the 2 days. Pick up and transfer to the island all straightforward and the bus driven by Guy was comfortable and fun. Lots of opportunity to stop and see things and get our gear. Guy was very knowledgeable about the island and had heaps of great stories. We saw lots of dingos. Blissful just being able to sit and enjoy the experience instead of driving, navigating and all that . Morning tea and lunches were enjoyable . The resort on the east side of the island was well appointed and the restaurant food was pretty good, though the dinner meals took 50min to come out. Coffee from the bar is recommend as the bakery and shop was bad. Our two bedroom apartment was recently renovated and the balcony view was glorious at sunset. Would highly recommend this tour and do again if given the opportunity. It was a bit cool and drizzly, but still so many great things to see and I think the weather after two long weekends had kept the crowds away. Read more Written 4 May 2024

Doing the 2-day tour means you see more and have longer at each place, for example 1.5 hours at the creek which was excellent! Lots of opportunities for getting off the bus to walk, swim and explore. Our guides Andy and Kurt were awesome and made the two day trip really enjoyable. They are great hosts, and gave us heaps of information about the history, geology, wildlife and culture. The bus was comfortable, good food, the hotel was clean and spacious. Nice pool. Loved it.
