Safari with Happy Tours

The desert safari itself was good fun and enjoyed by everyone. But the drivers seemed to have zero idea of Dubai's districts and streets, and we're unable to either pick-up or drop-off passengers in any kind of sensible order. After we were picked up we drove for 40 minutes to pick up another family, and then 30 minutes back to pass within 3 kms of where we had been collected. The same nonsense again at the end of the day with another 60 minute round trip. Obviously the driver thought the passengers all shared his atrocious sense of direction!

We were completely dissatisfied with the tour. The driver was supposed to pick us up at the pier at an appointed time, we had to make several calls to find out where he was and waited for nearly an hour before we were picked up. We finally arrived in the safari area of the desert and stopped at a roadside tourist attraction area where he stated that we would be stopping for a short bathroom break. The people in the stores put head-dresses on us and tried to sell us all sort of tourist crap. They seemed somewhat aggressive. We were expecting to be on dune buggies but instead we were riding the dunes in a 4-wheel drive vehicle which took the fun of out dune buggying. After the ride the drive stopped again to clean his vehicle in front of some shops and we were again accosted by vendors wanting to sell us things. The desert show was tacky and the food quite mediocre - total tourist crap. We felt like a bunch of cattle being herded around the camp. If it wasn’t for the four other people that were on the same safari we would have opted out of this touristy show and headed back to town. We felt this Evening Desert Safari was completely unsatisfactory, a waste time and money. We would have been better off doing the hop on-hop off buses for 2 days and enjoyed Dubai much more.

We highly recommend to do this Desert Safari if you like to do experience Desert drive and experience beautiful sun set view from the middle of desert. You can take young child on board if you are traveling with family. The camp dinner, camel ride and belly dance is nice to to experience once!

Great time at the safari. If you are prone to motion sickness, you might want to take some medication before you go. The 4x4 drive could be very rough at time. Although my teenager loved it. The camel ride was less than a minute ..and the sand dune surfing was on a small hill rather than a dune. Dont get too excited with these 2 attractions. The dinner and show were pretty nice. I enjoyed the dinner much more than at the hotel. All and all it is a must do when you are in Dubai.

Got a really good offer on line. Drive in the dessert was good. Amazing to see green fresh plants growing in the sand had some rain the day before and on the day so got to see another aspect of the dessert. The birds of prey stop was nice. Also quad biking was available at an extra cost. Sunset views were breath taking. At the bedouin camp there was camel riding some stalls to buy souvenirs and also an opportunity to experience shisha. During a barbecue dinner there were other shows going on food was reasonable a few starters, salads, grilled meats, curry and naan, arabic food and drinks ending with desserts.

It is an experience no one can describe for you but only you. Be prepared for the heat. You Must have it in your bucket list.
