How To Contribute

It's easy, fun, and rewarding to help esports

Contributing

Contributing to the wiki is actually pretty easy and keep in mind that every more-correct-than-wrong contribution is valuable no matter how small.

When you visit Liquipedia, consider adding to it or correcting something, it doesn't have to take up much of your time and effort and it will help other visitors like yourself and Liquipedia as a whole.

Many people start by fixing typos, which is actually the easiest way to contribute. You just have to create an account—if you don't have one already—log in, click edit, find and fix the typo, click save, and you are done.

Another thing that many contributors start with is keeping tournament results up to date while the tournament is ongoing. Most of the times the pages are already set up by one of the more experienced contributors, and you just have to fill in the results as they happen. Filling a bracket is pretty straightforward. You log in, click on edit, find the bracket, update scores and fill in names. If you are unsure, just look at how it was done on other pages, either by just looking at the page itself, or by clicking edit to examine how the page was created. In general, looking at how things are done on other pages gives you a good idea of how you can do it yourself.

If you feel comfortable with wiki editing or if you want to learn things that are more advanced, feel free to browse our "How to contribute" sections you can find in the menus on the left of the wiki pages. You can find us on our Discord server where other contributors can help you.

Logging in and registering

To log in and edit Liquipedia you need a TeamLiquid account. To register an account, click on the " create account " link on any wiki page, just remember to follow the instructions and complete the registration. Once you have an account go click on the log in box in the top right and enter your details or if logged in on any of the three sites mentioned just click on the TL quick log in link.

There are two types of edit links. One is a tab at the top of the page which lets you edit all sections of the page at once. The second is on the far right side of all sub-headers, this allows you to edit the specific section you are on. When editing a page you will have some tools in a toolbar above the editing box to help you with the markup language that the wiki uses for things like bold text, italics, headers, and links. To know more about the wiki markup language visit Wikipedia's Help: Wiki markup .

Areas to help out with

There are multiple things one can do to help out with on the wikis. Besides fixing typos or entering results you can:

  • List an interview a player has done on the player's page.
  • Add social media links on a team's or player's page.
  • Fill out a player's page with information from interviews they've done and add references.
  • Write part of the history of an organization, tournament, player, or team and add references.
  • Update a player's or team's result pages with recent results.
  • Add the times when a match starts to brackets or groups.
  • Add general game information, either to an existing article or make a new one for a topic that is missing.
  • Update strategy pages and create pages for new strategies.
  • Create new pages for tournaments, players, or teams (if they meet the liquipedia notability guidelines for that game.)
  • Give the wiki the right to display your photographs and upload them to the wiki.
  • Develop new templates to make our wikis look good and make contributing easier.
  • Use knowledge of PHP, JS, CSS, HTML, or graphic design to improve on any element that you find the wikis are lacking in.
  • Help other contributors in our Discord server , especially newer ones.
  • Spread the word that everyone can help grow Liquipedia.
  • Give us new ideas of what we can do, even a paint scribble can help improving the wikis, if it gives us an idea of how a template could look.
  • Correct people when they call us "LiquiDpedia" with one d too many. Liquids flow and pronouncing Liquipedia flows easier than LiquiDpedia.

DPC 2023 Tour 2 Overview — EEU, WEU, SEA, SA, NA and China

author_avatar

Everything you have to know about the upcoming Tour 2 of the DPC.

The arrival of The Dead Reckoning Update a few days ago finally changed the meta. We’ve been waiting for this update for a while, but Valve decided to wait until after the end of The Lima Major 2023 to drop it. Speaking of Lima, you can check out 5 takeaways from the Major and see how Gaimin Gladiators claimed victory.

But with that said, the end of the Major also meant the end of Tour 1 of the 2023 DPC and the arrival of Tour 2. Similar to our first tour we’ll have the chance to watch the matches in Division I before those in Division II. However, there are changes in the participating teams, as well as in the second Major, taking place in Berlin.

Of course, we have to wait and see which teams will make it to the Major, which means we have a month full of action ahead of us. Tour 2 of the 2023 DPC begins on March 12-13 and lasts until April 2-3. During that time, we’ll be able to watch the best teams in North America, South America, Southeast Asia, China, Eastern Europe and Western Europe.

While we’re on the topic of regions, let’s dive in and learn more about them.

North America

Starting with one of the most controversial regions in Dota 2, North America hasn’t had the best results lately. In fact, many people are confident it’s the weakest region in the game, but Shopify Rebellion are proving this isn’t the case.

Tour 2 in NA will start on March 13 and run until April 2. During that time, teams will fight for a $205,000 prize pool. Speaking of the participants, here is a list of all of them:

  • B8 (Ukraine)
  • Nouns (USA)
  • 5RATFORCESTAFF (USA)
  • TSM (Worldwide)
  • Team DogChamp (USA)
  • Wildcard Gaming (USA)
  • Shopify Rebellion (Worldwide)

There’s no arguing that EG’s ex-roster and TSM will be the two big favorites. However, felt and nouns also have what it takes to challenge the best, so we can’t wait to see which 2 teams will make it to The Arlington Major 2023. Don’t forget that North America only has 2 slots.

South America

The South American Dota 2 region has become way more popular than before and for a good reason. Teams like beastcoast and Evil Geniuses continue to exceed expectations by defeating the best in the world. Thunder Awaken is also one of the notable squads in this part of the world, but the latter failed to secure a slot for The Lima Major 2023.

If you want to watch the 2023 South America DPC Tour 2, tune in between March 14 and April 2. There will be 8 teams playing for DPC points and a $205,000 prize pool. Here are the clubs you’ll have access to:

  • Alliance.LATAM (Peru)
  • Infinity (Peru)
  • Evil Geniuses (Peru)
  • Keyd Stars (Brazil)
  • beastcoast (Peu)
  • Qhali (Peru)
  • No Runes (Brazil)
  • Thunder Awaken (Peru)

Of course, BC and EG are the two big names that we expected to have little to no problems against the rest. However, Thunder Awaken, Keys Stars, and Alliance can definitely put up a challenge. The bad news is that SA only has 2 Major slots (for now), so the battle will be fierce.

Southeast Asia

Taking place between March 13 and April 3, Division I of Tour 2 of the 2023 DPC in Southeast Asia will be even more interesting than Tour 1. That’s because Fnatic and BOOM, the two big-names in the region, will be playing in Division II.

Like all other regions, the SEA powerhouses will compete for DPC points and a $205,000 reward. Although Fnatic and BOOM are no longer a part of Division II, there are several other big names to keep an eye on:

  • Geek Slate (Philippines)
  • Team SMG (Malaysia)
  • Talon Esports (Thailand)
  • Polaris Esports (Philippines)
  • Bleed Esports (Pan-Asian)
  • Blacklist International (Philippines)
  • Execration (Philippines)
  • Army Geniuses (Indonesia)

Following Talon’s incredible run at The Lima Major 2023, there is no arguing that this is the big favorite in SEA. However, the region has 3 Major slots, which means that Polaris, SMG, Blacklist and Execration will give everything they have to secure them. Geek Slate is also an interesting squad that went to Lima but was eliminated in the group stage.

Western Europe

The best region in Dota 2 will be the most interesting to watch because every single team in Division I can win. Speaking of winning, Gaimin Gladiators won the Dota 2 Lima Major after an amazing playoff run where they defeated Team Liquid twice. Some fans thought that Liquid was undefeatable, but GG proved that “even Gods can bleed”.

If you’re interested in watching the best Western European Dota 2 teams in the world, be sure to tune in between March 13 and April 2. Here are the squads to keep an eye on:

  • Entity (Worldwide)
  • Monaspa (Greece)
  • Gamin Gladiators (Worldwide)
  • Team Liquid (Sweden)
  • OG (Worldwide)
  • Tundra Esports (Worldwide)
  • Ooredoo Thunders (Worldwide)
  • Nigma Galaxy (Worldwide)

As mentioned, every single team has what it takes to win. However, GG, Team Liquid and Entity stand out, at least judging from their most recent results. Of course, OG, Nigma and Tundra won’t go down without a fight, so we expect an epic battle for the 4 Major slots, the DPC points, and the $205,000 prizepool.

Eastern Europe

The best teams in Eastern Europe will come together in Division I of Tour 2, which will take place between March 12 and April 2. Like any other Dota 2 region, this one will give DPC points, in this case, 3 Major slots and a $205,000 USD prize pool. Here are the teams to keep an eye on:

  • HellRaisers (Russia)
  • DarkSide (Russia)
  • HYDRA (Russia)
  • Team Spirit (Russia)
  • Natus Vincere (Kazakhstan)
  • Virtus.Pro (Russia)
  • One Move (Russia)
  • BetBoom Team (Russia)

It probably doesn’t come as a surprise that Team Spirit and BetBoom are the two big names here. However, almost all other clubs also have what it takes to finish among the top 3. Consequently, the region will be interesting to watch.

Lastly, we have China, the only Dota 2 region outside of WEU that has 4 slots. However, considering the Chinese teams’ recent results, we expect this to change for the next DPC.

With that said, Tour 2 in China will have a normal schedule, unlike Tour 1, where teams had to take a break due to the Chinese New Year. As for the teams, here is what to expect:

  • Xtreme Gaming
  • Vici Gaming
  • Outsiders from CN
  • Aster.Aries
  • Invictus Gaming

LGD and Aster look like the most promising Chinese Dota 2 squads for Tour 2 Division I. However, Xtreme Gaming and Vici will do everything possible to secure a Top 4 finish. Normally, EHOME would be on the list too, but they and Knights got banned due to “interfering with fair competition”. The most recent ban waved affected a lot of people, most of which got a permanent ban.

Expanding the ept.

The ESL Pro Tour DOTA 2 will see a significant expansion from season 1. A total of three DreamLeague events will be part of the EPT Season 2, as well as two ESL One events. DreamLeague S21 and its results are included in EPT Season 2, as well as the upcoming ESL One Kuala Lumpur. All events from here on out, including Riyadh Masters at Esports World Cup , will feature both open and closed qualifiers for all 7 of our qualifier regions (NA, SA, WEU, EEU, MENA, CN, SEA)

EPT-mood-event-preview-ESLOne-EU-2

Season 2 will see the introduction of the leaderboard. In order to earn their spot at Riyadh Masters at Esports World Cup , teams will need to earn EPT Points to place among the top 8 on the leaderboard. EPT Points will be awarded to every team playing an EPT event. The amount of EPT Points awarded per event will increase the closer an event is to Riyadh Masters at EWC (e.g. DLS21 rewards fewer points than DLS23). Starting with DreamLeague Season 22, EPT Points will also be used to determine direct invites to EPT events, as well as invites to closed qualifiers.

Following the conclusion of ESL One Kuala Lumpur, the top four teams in the EPT leaderboard will be invited to the following EPT event. The remaining teams on the EPT leaderboard will receive an invite to the closed qualifier of their region, up until six slots have been filled. Any remaining slots may be filled in based on regional rankings .

Every one of our 7 qualifier regions (NA, SA, WEU, EEU, MENA, CN, SEA) has open qualifiers leading into closed qualifiers for each EPT event. The top four teams of the Leaderboard will be invited to the following EPT event, and invites to the closed qualifiers for each region will be based on EPT Points as well.

Each region will always have at least one qualifier slot. Additional slot distribution is determined via the regional rankings. Regions can earn rating based on teams’ performances at both EPT and non-EPT events. A more detailed description is available from our EPT Rulebook here .

Each open qualifier, except for CN region, will be played on FACEIT. Sign-ups will be open days before the OQ begins. Links can be found on the website for the event, on our social media, or FACEIT directly.

Every team participating in an ESL One or DreamLeague event (not just in its qualifiers), will receive EPT Points based on their placement in the event.

In principle, EPT Points are tied to the competing, registered roster. Changes to the roster can impact EPT Points earned, from no deductions up to a complete EPT Point reset. For a more detailed breakdown, please refer to the official EPT Rulebook here .

The closer a tournament is to the end of the season, the more EPT Points it will distribute in total.

EPT Points do not decay throughout a season. Instead, the amount of EPT Points distributed per event will increase the closer we get to the end of a season. EPT Points will however be reset after a season has ended.

The rulebook for EPT Season 2 can be found here .

All of our events have information on format available on their own page. You can find links to them here: ESL One Kuala Lumpur DreamLeague Season 22 ESL One Europe DreamLeague Season 23

Pearl Jam brings world tour home to Seattle for two sold-out shows

Pearl Jam performs at Climate Pledge Arena on May 28, 2024 (Image: Caroline Anne / Seattle Refined)

Seattle's mayor officially declared May 28 " Pearl Jam Day " as the legendary hometown band brought their 'Dark Matter World Tour' to Climate Pledge Arena for the first of two sold-out shows.

It's been 11 years since the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers played under the KeyArena roof that now covers Climate Pledge Arena. Fans camped out early to snag a spot near the stage and score limited-edition merch on Tuesday.

Dark Matter , Pearl Jam's 12th studio album, has been well-received by critics and fans. It emotes feelings of longing, questioning, and finding one's own truth. The 2024 tour launched in Vancouver, B.C. on May 4 and weaves along the West Coast before heading overseas.

With a 30-year discography, Pearl Jam has opened with a different song on each night of the tour. This production is unlike previous tours, bringing fans closer to the stage and creating an intimate experience among an attendance of 14,000.

Pearl Jam's choice of Seattle indie-rock duo, Deep Sea Diver, as the opening act came as no surprise. Lead singer Jessica Dobson opened for the band as a solo artist for several shows last year.

Deep Sea Diver's energetic 30-minute set was a mix of hits from their decades-long catalog. Dobson's ethereal movements created a dream-like state as she softly sang their band's first song, "Lights Out." Switching gears, she skipped around for "Wide Awake." Dobson, illuminated in hues of red and green, smiled along with the crowd and gave thanks to the fans and Pearl Jam in between songs.

Pearl Jam started their 2.5-hour set almost completely in the dark. Cloaked in shadows, the band entered the stage in silhouette, led by lead singer Eddie Vedder and followed by Jeff Ament (bass), Mike McCready (lead guitar), Matt Cameron (drums) and Stone Gossard (guitar), plus the band's long time touring musicians, Kenneth "Boom" Gaspar (keys/piano) and Josh Klinghoffer (guitar, percussion, keys).

The multigenerational crowd screamed as the opening chords to "Release" began as the darkened profile of Vedder drank from a bottle of wine. If this was your first Pearl Jam show, you were in for a treat as the band played some of their greatest hits coupled with older tracks rarely heard live, such as "I am Mine,", "Satan's Bed" and "Man of the Hour," which was dedicated to Bill Walton, late Celtics basketball Hall of Famer and long time friend of the band.

Vedder paid his respects to another basketball great, retired Seattle Storm star Sue Bird. Standing under her retired jersey Vedder pointed to the arena's ceiling, saying: "This song is about a woman finding her own power. This song is called 'Waiting for Stevie.'"

There's always been a connection between Pearl Jam and sports. In fact, their debut album Ten was named after basketball great Mookie Blaylock. Vedder even pointed out those in attendance wearing #10 Sonics jerseys.

Vedder asked the crowd if they were tired and, "Do you need to get up early?" Then all the house lights came on and hands went up for the band's smash hit, "Alive." Personally, the song hits differently at almost 50 than at 17. Nevertheless, a truly cathartic experience; one of the moments where the whole crowd is one, singing with their neighbors, and all that matters is the music and being present.

After a quick wardrobe change, Vedder returned to the stage wearing a Seattle Kraken jersey and welcomed Deep Sea Diver back for an encore and the Jimi Hendrix classic "Little Wing," one of Pearl Jam's most popular covers and where lead guitarist Mike McCready's technical genius shines.

Before leaving the stage, Vedder spoke one last time to the crowd, "Let's make this an occurrence! See you Thursday!"
